If climate changes is measured (as it is) by tenths of a degree over the course of many years...
Why is it that liberals are trying to blame these tenth of a degree climate changes for all of these forest fires... rather than the very recent and tangible changes in logging, preventative forest fire burning, and underbrush regulations?
Or perhaps we would all be wise to consider that natural weather fluctuations and policy decisions might actually have something to do with this... rather than pretend it's out of everyone's immediate control and the only way to stop it is with a long term climate change strategy that would neither prevent short term weather fluctuations or solve the issue with underbrush and lack of a fire control strategy.
Not to mention that no matter how hard we try... things are not suddenly going to get cooler.
It just seems to be the sort of politically charged pass the buck liberal concept that nothing is ever a liberal's fault because the failed policies are only failures because they do not go far enough and not enough people are on board nationally.

Maybe you would like to explain to us why not only the western part of our country but huge portions of Australia during their "summer" have experienced raging fires like nothing seen since recorded history.
And of course we could also mention all the glaciers and icebergs and huge portions of snow and ice in the Arctic and in the Antarctic melting, and the rise of oceans, and the increases in hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis etc., etc., etc.

Well Reverend... there are such as thing as natural weather fluctuations.
Eg: Why am I having to put on long sleeves and layers in early September to run at 8:00-9:00 in the morning rather than wake up at 6:00 to beat the heat like I generally would.
But the reality is that the west coast has seen heat waves in the past and not experienced the same sort or raging fires. Something (other than the weather) is different.
Please explain how us implementing solar or wind power and having everyone deal with rolling blackouts is going to make things any cooler? At best it slows down warming (if it even does that).
So I strongly suspect that leadership on the West Coast better damned well get used to the fact that they might continue to see high temperatures in the coming years and figure out what to do about it.
Because WHINING about global warming is just WHINING.
More and more people are becoming more and more convinced that it is not whining, but a realistic regard for the real science presented by genuine scientists not in the employ of the fossil fuel industries.
Portland, Oregon has choking air pollution due to Arson fires and Woodland Mismanagement.
will it be enough to put out the riots in Portland?
Which years in history did Oregon and California have zero Forrest fires?
The Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 11,700 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives.
Scientific evidence for warming of the climate system is unequivocal.
- Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia.1
Earth-orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled scientists to see the big picture, collecting many different types of information about our planet and its climate on a global scale. This body of data, collected over many years, reveals the signals of a changing climate.
The heat-trapping nature of carbon dioxide and other gases was demonstrated in the mid-19th century.2 Their ability to affect the transfer of infrared energy through the atmosphere is the scientific basis of many instruments flown by NASA. There is no question that increased levels of greenhouse gases must cause the Earth to warm in response.
Ice cores drawn from Greenland, Antarctica, and tropical mountain glaciers show that the Earth’s climate responds to changes in greenhouse gas levels. Ancient evidence can also be found in tree rings, ocean sediments, coral reefs, and layers of sedimentary rocks. This ancient, or paleoclimate, evidence reveals that current warming is occurring roughly ten times faster than the average rate of ice-age-recovery warming.3
The evidence for rapid climate change is compelling:
Global Temperature Rise
The planet's average surface temperature has risen about 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit (1.1 degrees Celsius) since the late 19th century
The planet's average surface temperature has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit (0.9 degrees Celsius) since the late 19th century, a change driven largely by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made emissions into the atmosphere.4 Most of the warming occurred in the past 35 years, with the six warmest years on record taking place since 2014. Not only was 2016 the warmest year on record, but eight of the 12 months that make up the year — from January through September, with the exception of June — were the warmest on record for those respective months.

Carbon dioxide (CO2). A minor but very important component of the atmosphere, carbon dioxide is released through natural processes such as respiration and volcano eruptions and through human activities such as deforestation, land use changes, and burning fossil fuels. Humans have increased atmospheric CO2 concentration by 47% since the Industrial Revolution began. This is the most important long-lived "forcing" of climate change.
Anacdantal evidence doesn't mean that climate change is not real.
You are denying reality for political purposes, not for the safety of the country from climate change.
Anecdotal
The consequences of changing the natural atmospheric greenhouse are difficult to predict, but some effects seem likely:
On average, Earth will become warmer. Some regions may welcome warmer temperatures, but others may not.
Warmer conditions will probably lead to more evaporation and precipitation overall, but individual regions will vary, some becoming wetter and others dryer.
A stronger greenhouse effect will warm the ocean and partially melt glaciers and ice sheets, increasing sea level. Ocean water also will expand if it warms, contributing further to sea level rise.
On average, Earth will become warmer. Some regions may welcome warmer temperatures, but others may not.
The weather in Australia is not evidence that global warming is not happening.

The look on the Morons face when Governor Newsom informed him that 57% of California's Forest is Federal Land was priceless.
Why didn't the President direct federal funds to clean up the federally owned forests?????????
increasing sea level. Ocean water also will expand
Wha???
Now that I proved that Scott A**hole was full of shit again and again and again and again and again and again
The scientists have projected that the sea levels will rise, respectively quickly
Water only expands when it freezes you idiot
If you’d read those encyclopedias your parents bought you in middle school, you’d know that

Global sea level has been rising over the past century, and the rate has increased in recent decades. In 2014, global sea level was 2.6 inches above the 1993 average—the highest annual average in the satellite record (1993-present). Sea level continues to rise at a rate of about one-eighth of an inch per year.
Higher sea levels mean that deadly and destructive storm surges push farther inland than they once did, which also means more frequent nuisance flooding. Disruptive and expensive, nuisance flooding is estimated to be from 300 percent to 900 percent more frequent within U.S. coastal communities than it was just 50 years ago.
The two major causes of global sea level rise are thermal expansion caused by warming of the ocean (since water expands as it warms) and increased melting of land-based ice, such as glaciers and ice sheets. The oceans are absorbing more than 90 percent of the increased atmospheric heat associated with emissions from human activity.

David Legates, a University of Delaware professor of climatology who has spent much of his career questioning basic tenets of climate science, has been hired for a top position at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Legates confirmed to NPR that he was recently hired as NOAA's deputy assistant secretary of commerce for observation and prediction. The position suggests that he reports directly to Neil Jacobs, the acting head of the agency that is in charge of the federal government's sprawling weather and climate prediction work.

You don’t remember what you claim from one week to the next
The Northern Hemisphere just sweltered through its hottest summer on record, according to data released Monday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The period from June through August was 2.11 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than average in the Northern Hemisphere, while globally, this August ranked as the second-hottest since record keeping began in 1880.

OUR ADVERTISERS,
YOU SUPPORT US.
THANK YOU!
The worrying milestones come as historic wildfires and extreme weather events in the U.S. have sharpened focus on global warming and the catastrophic impacts of climate change.
August was particularly steamy for the planet. Average global land and ocean surface temperatures last month surpassed the 20th-century average of 60.1 degrees by 1.69 degrees. This makes it the second-warmest August on record, trailing only August 2016, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information.
Some regions, however, felt the August heat more acutely. Last month ranked as the hottest August on record in North America, while it was the third hottest in Europe and the fourth hottest for South America and Oceania.
One-third of the U.S. faced at least a moderate level of drought conditions in August, and California suffered through a record-setting heat wave last month, after temperatures in Death Valley hit a sizzling 130 degrees.
Sally upgraded to hurricane in ‘most active’ storm season since 2005
Southeastern China, parts of northern Russia and western Australia also experienced above-average temperatures last month, NOAA scientists wrote in their latest assessment.

So neither the Reverend or Mr Nursing Home can tell us how somehow changing long term climate change policy will help prevent more fires over the next couple of years...
That is the reality. It's going to be hot and dry (for whatever reasons) over the next few years.
How does California prevent more of these fires?
Because I promise you that more solar panels and less burning of fossil fuel over the next few months is not going to prevent the hotter and drier conditions.
When you point fingers, tell us why you think something is happening, without actually offering any real tangible real time solutions that can be implemented "right now" to fix these problems...
then you are whining.
Even if EVERYONE agreed that global warming is causing all of the hot and dry weather... it doesn't change the fact that SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO STOP THESE FIRES. Whether that is changing the logging regulations or allowing the underbrush to be removed or having regular burns to undercut things. Something.
But complaining doesn't help.
The top communications official at the powerful Cabinet department in charge of combating the coronavirus made outlandish and false claims Sunday that career government scientists were engaging in “sedition” in their handling of the pandemic and warned that left-wing hit squads were preparing for armed insurrection after the election.
Michael Caputo, 58, the assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, said without evidence that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was harboring a “resistance unit” determined to undermine President Donald Trump.
Trump will use this to declare insurrection act
It will take a federal movement to address climate change.
Trump said that trees explode!
Cleaning up the forest is a ridiculous way to address climate change. The Noaa said that climate change is real!
You have become so predictable because the Orange man can do no wrong,,!
He chose to believe Putin about election interference, over the intelligence agencies, that are filled with patriotic heroes.
But you choose to believe the President about everything!
You have been infected with COVID-45 virus
I promise you that more solar panels and less burning of fossil fuel over the next few months is not going to prevent the hotter and drier conditions.
Hell no it will take a federal policy change to focus on renewable energy resources and reducing greenhouse gases.
Providing millions of recharging services will create millions of well paying jobs!
That's why we have to change the direction of the country and into the future. Not Make America Great Again because Trump will take us back decades of progress and racial justice.
When your President was asked about climate reform.
TRUMP: It’ll start getting cooler, you just watch.
CROWFOOT: I wish science agreed with you.
TRUMP: I don’t think science knows actually.
He will not do anything to address climate change, another reason to fire Trump!

a scientist who questions science and does not take it as gospel.
huh.
i'm old enough to remember when scientific inquiry was a good thing.

And you pin your hope on a solitary asshole tp promote a false narrative.....yep....there are a few scientists that think like him....it does make their position correct, you dumb fucking idiot!!!!! Sorry sport you and trump are attached at your asses!!!!! BWAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
