"Environmental Leaders Urge Support of Biden
10:46 am EDT
“Nearly 200 environmental leaders signed an open leader urging like-minded voters to support Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the November election instead of casting their ballots for the Green Party’s candidate,” The Hill reports.

From the letter: “Angry right-wing voters and liberal absentees put Trump in the White House in 2016. In 2020 the same unholy team could keep him there. Progressives who vote for the Green Party candidate, or write in Henry David Thoreau, or refuse to vote at all for lack of an ideal choice will give Donald Trump precisely what he wants, and enough such pious gestures will produce catastrophic results.”
Right. Mustn't let that happen.

Trump Is Putin’s ‘Useful Idiot’
10:42 am
Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the star witness in President Trump’s impeachment trial, told The Atlantic he considered the president to be a “useful idiot” for Vladimir Putin.

Said Vindman: “President Trump should be considered to be a useful idiot and a fellow traveler, which makes him an unwitting agent of Putin.”

He added: “They may or may not have dirt on him, but they don’t have to use it… They have more effective and less risky ways to employ him. He has aspirations to be the kind of leader that Putin is, and so he admires him. He likes authoritarian strongmen who act with impunity, without checks and balances. So he’ll try to please Putin.”

President Trump suggested again that Joe Biden is a Trojan horse for radical leftists.

Trump Defends Holding Indoor Rally
10:18 am
President Trump dismissed concerns about the possible spread of coronavirus at his indoor rally in Nevada, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Said Trump: “I’m on a stage and it’s very far away. And so I’m not at all concerned.”

He made no mention of the potential threat posed to the thousands of his supporters who attended the rally.

HE ONLY CARES ABOUT HIMSELF AND NO ONE ELSE, ALL THE TIME AND EVERYWHERE.

The Democrats’ Excessive Bed-Wetting Over Biden
September 14, 2020 at 10:58 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Walter Shapiro: “The last two times an incumbent president was defeated—Jimmy Carter in 1980 and George H.W. Bush in 1992—the polls throughout the election year gyrated widely. At one point in 1992, in fact, Bill Clinton was trailing both Bush and independent self-funder Ross Perot.”

“But Trump has been underwater in the polls so long, you might expect him to develop gills. After 2016, Democrats will never again approach Election Day without a flicker of fear. But they should allow themselves a hint of joy as Trump comes closer and closer to becoming a one-term president.”

The Monmouth (“Mon-muth”) University Poll also finds that few Americans feel that the suburbs are under significant threat from undesirable consequences of greater integration.

Nearly two-thirds (65%) of Americans say that maintaining law and order is a major problem in the country right now. Another 25% say it is a minor problem and 8% say it is not a problem.

The law and order message is not helping the President.

Not just Monmouth, they showed the college educated people, are not supporting the President, this time.

In a poll posted on the twitter profile of Donald Trump, Trump’s twitter followers were asked:

WHO CAUSED MORE AMERICAN DEATHS?

We know that Osama Bid-Laden killed 2977 American Lives on 9/11. What we do not know is the total amount of American lives that were lost as a result of Bin-Laden’s actions.

We know that we have lost over 190,000 American lives to COVID-19. What we do not know is how many lives could have been saved if Donald Trump had not pretended COVID-19 was a HOAX propelled by the Democrats.

We have received estimates that 36,000 American lives could have been saved if Trump had reacted one (1) week sooner.

We have received estimates that 54,000 American lives could have been saved if Trump had reacted two (2) weeks sooner.

No one knows with any certainty exactly how many American deaths were caused by Bin-Laden, and no one knows with any certainty how many American deaths will be caused by Trump, since he is not finished getting Americans killed.

There are several reasons why the number of American COVID-19 deaths, that can be blamed on Trump himself, is far from over:

Donald Trump is traveling the Country and holding COVID-19 Super Spreader events, where masks are not only not mandated, but discouraged, unless the people are close to Trump.
Trump continues to insist that we have “turned the corner” even though 40,000 COVID-19 cases are being discovered each day, and we are averaging 1,000 COVID-19 deaths per day.
Trump has put his re-election possibilities over the lives of the American people.
Since we do not know how many American deaths Bin-Laden was responsible for, or what the final Trump COVID-19 death count will be, I asked Trump’s twitter followers what they thought.

Add to list
For the past seven months, it’s been trivial to compare President Trump’s rhetoric around the coronavirus pandemic with the actual evolution of cases and deaths. The president’s constant insistence that all is or soon will be well is the political equivalent of Leslie Nielsen standing in front of an exploding fireworks store insisting that there’s nothing interesting to be seen.
For most of those seven months, though, it’s been unclear the extent to which Trump actually believed his own hype. Did Trump actually think that the pandemic was under control, or fading, or not something that necessitated an urgent response? Or was this simply salesman Trump, trying to close a tough deal like he still has an obstructed-view walk-up on the books?
Last week’s revelation that Trump informed Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward in early February about the dangers posed by the virus seemed to answer that question in favor of the latter option. Trump acknowledged that he actively chose to mislead the public about the risk, repeatedly saying that he hoped to avoid panicking the public. (A concern, mind you, that he applies selectively.) To Woodward, he said he had in fact downplayed the risk.

But here, that’s not really the most galling aspect of Trump’s claim. Instead, it’s that Trump’s politics are almost entirely predicated on attempting to frighten people. From his campaign announcement rife with Mexican “rapists” to his first three years in office, during which time the nation was constantly imperiled by terrorist immigrants and immigrant terrorists, Trumpism is fundamentally about fearmongering.

If FDR had decided to tone down the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, so the people would not get nervous, we would have lost even more heroes! Approximately 400,000 American soldiers died in World War Two.

If we don't develop a successful vaccine before the middle of next year, we will have lost as many lives than we lost in World War Two.

On the other hand if the virus needs a media to spread, say saliva, then a mask may have some limited value.

'Nothing more could have been done':
Trump's final phone call to Woodward

Washington (CNN) - On August 14, the coronavirus pandemic was on fire in the US. More than 168,000 Americans had died, with more than 1,300 deaths that day alone.

But when President Donald Trump called legendary journalist Bob Woodward, it was to find out one thing: He had recently learned that Woodward's new book "Rage" was done and would be coming out in September, and Trump wanted to find out how he'd be portrayed.

It was their 19th conversation, following 18 interviews that formed a key component of Woodward's book. Trump had privately told Woodward in February he knew critical details about how deadly the virus was, and in March admitted he was playing it down.

On August 14, Trump peppered the veteran two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist with questions about the book and what exactly was in it.

CNN has obtained excerpts of the 10-minute conversation, which show Trump was more focused on the economy than the public health crisis.

As the two debated Trump's response to the pandemic, Trump finally asked: "So you think the virus totally supersedes the economy?"

"Oh sure. But they're related, as you know," Woodward responded.

"A little bit, yeah," Trump replied.

"Oh, a little bit?" Woodward asked.

"I mean, more than a little bit. But the economy is doing -- look, we're close to a new stock market record," Trump said.

Trump's question to Woodward underscores the President's attitude toward the virus.

After six months of experts trying to convince Trump that the two are linked -- that an economic recovery depends on first stopping the virus -- Trump is still focused on the stock market and the economy because he believes those are key to his reelection.

In another part of the conversation, Woodward told Trump there are parts of the book the President won't like. "It's a tough book," he said, adding that it's "close to the bone."

"You know the market's coming back very strong, you do know that," Trump responded to Woodward.

"Yes, of course," Woodward said.

"Did you cover that in the book?" Trump asked.

Woodward and Trump continued to debate Trump's response to the pandemic and how it will be critical to the presidential election. When Woodward told Trump that the election will be a contest between him, former Vice President Joe Biden "and the virus," Trump insisted, "Nothing more could have been done."

He added: "I acted early."

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Since the critical details of what Trump withheld about the virus have become public, the President has tried to shift the conversation.

"If Bob Woodward thought what I said was bad, then he should have immediately, right after I said it, gone out to the authorities so they can prepare and let them know," Trump said on Thursday. "But he didn't think it was bad. And he said he didn't think it was bad. He actually said he didn't think it was bad."

Woodward told CNN he never said this to the President.

Woodward said that when he heard Trump talking about the coronavirus being airborne and deadlier than the flu in February, he first had to go out and learn whether that was actually true, since so little was known about the virus and how it was spread at the time.

Trump had mentioned speaking to Chinese President Xi Jinping on February 6, and Woodward wondered if the President had learned those details based on his conversation with Xi. For months, Woodward said, he was chasing after a transcript of that call.

It wasn't until early May, when Woodward learned about a January 28 top secret intelligence briefing Trump had with his national security team, that Woodward started to piece together the story. In that briefing, Trump's national security adviser Robert O'Brien told Trump that the coronavirus would be "the biggest national security threat" of his presidency, and O'Brien's deputy Matthew Pottinger warned Trump about human-to-human and asymptomatic spread of the virus.

Trump also said last week that the calls with Woodward were "quick ones, not long ones." In fact, the 18 interviews totaled nearly 10 hours. In more than a half-dozen cases, it was Trump who called Woodward unexpectedly, sometimes late at night from the White House residence.

As CNN reported last week, many of those calls were made without White House aides knowing about them.

Throughout their 18 interviews for the book, Trump sought Woodward's approval, repeatedly asking Woodward whether he was going to write a "good book."

The lobbying continued in their final conversation, when Woodward noted that one of Trump's accomplishments after the book had gone to press -- the agreement to normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates -- had earned Trump rare praise from New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who has been repeatedly critical of Trump.

"Tom Friedman? That's nice," Trump said.

"Isn't that something?" Woodward responded.

"He's come a long way. The next one I need is you," Trump said. "But it looks like I don't have it on this book, but we'll get you sometime later, I guess."

But mostly that comes from being a very very stupid old white man who thinks he is "woke" because he supports black men's right to sexually assault women.

Hey... if your wife is okay with sexual abuse, then that's your business.

My wife would have beaten the cops to it if this guy has tried to digitally penetrate her and then take her car on his way out.

But maybe this is just a lack of information.

Does your wife know that this was a guy with a warrant out for his arrest for multiple sexual assaults, and that he was under an order of protection not to be at his ex-girlfriends house, and that he was back harassing her again, the the ex-girlfriend called 911 onh him, and trying to steal her SUV in the process?

You cannot just pretend he was just an average every day man, minding his own business, when the cops came to harass him because of the color of his skin.

The fucking color of someone's skin doesn't make then any more or less of a sexual predator or make then any more or less dangerous to society.

Vindman is not the first national security official to suggest Trump may be compromised by the Russians. Former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats reportedly held a "secret belief" that Putin has something on Trump.
Former US spies also expressed similar sentiments to Insider last year after Trump's disastrous performance at the G7 summit, during which he forcefully advocated for Russia to be readmitted to the alliance.

“Kremlin-backed operatives are flooding social media with fake accounts and stoking racial divisions around topics like Black Lives Matter. Articles in state-owned Russian media with millions of U.S. readers online seek to dampen Joe Biden’s appeal among progressives and echo President Trump’s unsupported claims about voting fraud.

“At the same time, Russian state-backed hackers are waging cyberattacks … [S]ecurity researchers, former intelligence officials and lawmakers now worry that the Russians may still have a hand they haven’t played. … And the biggest threat this year may be Americans themselves. They should they’ve mismanaged their forests for decades

For decades, traditional forest management was scientific and successful, until ideological, preservationist zealots wormed their way into government and began the 40-year overhaul of sound federal forest management through abuse of the Endangered Species Act and the no-use movement.

California Globe has talked with Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) numerous times about this very issue. McClintock has warned, “Our forests are now catastrophically overgrown, often carrying four times the number of trees the land can support. In this stressed and weakened condition, our forests are easy prey for drought, disease, pestilence and fire.”

Traditional forest management had simple guidelines: thin the forest when it becomes too difficult to walk through; too many trees in the woods will compete with one another, because the best trees will grow at a slower rate.

Today, only privately managed forests are maintained through the traditional forest management practices: thinning, cutting, clearing, prescribed burns, and the disposal of the resulting woody waste.

And private lands do not suffer the wildfires the rest of the state does.

Yet the same climate change impacts private lands as public lands, but private forests are not burning down because they are properly managed. Or if a fire does break out on privately managed forest land, it is often extinguished more quickly and easily because the trees aren’t so close together, and the underbrush has been cleared away.

Section 1385 of Title 18, United States Code (USC), states:

“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

The Posse Comitatus Act (PCA) does not apply to the U.S. Coast Guard, or to the National Guard in Title 32 or State Active Duty status. Although the PCA prohibits only the Army and Air Force as from performing domestic law enforcement activities, another statute, 10 USC Section 275, requires the Secretary of Defense to prescribe regulations to prohibit members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps from direct participation in a search, seizure, arrest, or other similar activity unless participation in such activity by such member is otherwise authorized by law. Department of Defense Instruction 3025.21 implements the prohibitions required under the PCA and 10 USC Section 275.

In a segment on "Tucker Carlson Tonight," the host claimed Democratic leaders were blaming climate change for starting the wildfires in an attempt to secure votes in the upcoming elections.

"Climate change, they said, caused these fires. They didn't explain how exactly that happened. How did climate change do that?" Carlson asked. "In the hands of Democratic politicians, climate change is like systemic racism in the sky. You can't see it, but rest assured it's everywhere and it's deadly."
