Lengthy but good

However, now we stick a swab up someone’s nose, who feels completely well, or very mildly ill. We find that they have some COVID particles lodged up there, and we call them a case of COVID. Sigh, thud!

A symptomless, or even mildly symptomatic positive swab is not a case. Never, in recorded history, has this been true. However, now we have an almost unquestioned acceptance that a positive swab represents a case of COVID. This is then parroted on all the news channels as if it were gospel.

I note that, at last, some people are beginning to question how it can be that, whilst cases are going up and up, deaths are going down, and down.

This is even the case in Sweden, which seems to be the final bastion of people with functioning brains. However, even they seem surprised by this dichotomy. In the first two weeks of August they had 4,152 positive swabs. Yet, in the last two weeks of August, they had a mere 14 deaths (one a day, on average).

That represents 1 death for every 300 positive swabs or, as the mainstream media insists on calling them, positive ‘cases’. Which, currently, represent a case fatality rate of 0.33%. Just to compare that with something similar, the case fatality rate of swine flu (HIN1), was 0.5%. 2

Thus, lo and behold, COVID is a less severe infection than swine flu – the pandemic that never was. That’s what these figures appear to tell us. They tell us almost exactly the same in France where they ‘appear’ to have a current case fatality rate of 0.4%.

On the other hand, if you look at the figures from around the world, they are very different. As I write this there have been, according to the WHO, 25 million cases and 850,000 deaths. That is a case fatality rate of more than 3%. Ten times as high.

Why are these figures so all over the place? It is because we are using horribly inaccurate terminology. We are comparing apples with pomegranates to tell us how many bananas we have. Our experts are, essentially, talking gibberish, and the mainstream media is lapping it up. They are defining asymptomatic swabs as cases, and no-one is calling them out on it. Why?

Because… because they are frightened of looking stupid? Primarily, I believe, because they also have no idea what a case might actually be So, it all sounds quite reasonable to them.

Short and hugely amusing!!!!!!

In an op-ed for Fox News published this Thursday, Judge Andrew Napolitano writes that he was appalled at the revelations inside a report from The Atlantic that said President Trump disparaged U.S. service members and war dead. At the same time, he wasn't surprised since he's been a friend of Trump's since 1987.

"To be Trump's friend does not immunize one from Trump's wrath," Napolitano writes. "On the contrary, he expects total loyalty, particularly from those in the media, and he will not hesitate to attack his friends publicly should he hear anything from them that displeases him."

Napolitano says that while he's loyal to his friends, he's first and foremost loyal to the truth. According to him, it "appears more likely than not" that Trump did indeed slander American military service members.

"I say this because — for better or worse — Donald Trump is unfiltered," writes Napolitano. "He often says what first comes to his mind without thinking of the likely consequences — including the hurt — his words could produce. And he believes he can repair any hurt with more words."

Even CNN couldn't clean up that mess.

Sort of like Biden COVID-19 criticism, when asked what he would do, he ticked off everything Trump has already done.c

No wonder why they want to keep him in the basement.

Trump Claims We’re In ‘Final Turn’ of the Pandemic

President Trump again tried to deflect responsibility for the country’s exploding coronavirus death toll by blaming China for the pandemic, but expressed confidence that the U.S. was in the final stretch of its crisis.

Said Trump: “We’re rounding the final turn, and a lot of good things are happening.”

The real final turn and best good thing that is to come is when we turn you out of the White House permanently.

My parents got married in the middle of the great Depression and they were lifelong Democrats

The Southern Democrats did not represent the Democratic party.

And yet they were Democrats. And not just Democrats but Democrats who held the most powerful positions in Congress. One even had a senate office building name after him.

rrb is going to go crazy about beaners!

A federal court blocked a memorandum signed by Donald J. Trump seeking to exclude undocumented immigrants from being counted in the census for apportionment saying such action would violate the statute saying apportionment must be based on everyone who is a resident of the U.S. The judges found that all residents must be counted for apportionment purposes regardless of their legal status.

alky,

don't even think about trying that "they switched sides" bullshit we me again. i've cleaned your clock countless times on that little piece of revisionist history that you and the left bitterly cling to.

if democrats are not so fucking racist, then explain to me why you guys go apeshit at the thought of a black person being a conservative. or at the fact that you scumbags feel entitled to the black vote and can't fucking stand it when blacks attempt to flee the democrat plantation.

the fact is, very little has changed about the democrat party between 1850 and now.

Promises made....promises broken.....the trump legacy!!!!!!

Trump’s spotty record on manufacturing jobs
Rick Newman

Biden takes aim at Trump’s manufacturing and jobs policies
that he has kept his promise.
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is visiting swing-state manufacturing regions to bash President Trump’s record on factory jobs. “President Trump has broken just about every promise he’s ever made to American workers and he has failed our economy and our country,” Biden said in Warren, Mich., on Sept. 9. Voters will hear a lot more of that. Biden specifically points to a manufacturing recession in 2019, the increased offshoring of jobs under Trump, and a slower pace of job creation under Trump than under the last three years of the Obama administration.

While running for president in 2016, Trump promised to “bring back manufacturing,” which may have helped him win crucial Rust Belt states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. Did he bring it back? The answer could very well determine who wins those states—and the White House—in 2020.

Business shutdowns associated with the coronavirus recession have hammered manufacturing, like many other sectors. Manufacturers have lost 720,000 jobs since February, though employers have been slowly rehiring since May. But some voters may give Trump a pass on the coronavirus and try to assess his record on manufacturing during the first three years of his presidency, before the virus upended things.

From that perspective, Biden’s criticism largely holds up. Trump claims to have created the “greatest economy ever” before the coronavirus arrived, which is a comical exaggeration. In many respects, the U.S. economy grew at a similar pace from the last three years of the Obama administration into early 2020. Overall employment growth slowed a bit under Trump, but wages rose, which is typical of an expansion moving from middle to later stages. On manufacturing, however, one factor—Trump’s trade disputes with China and other countries, and the protectionist tariffs he imposed on many imports—may have caused a manufacturing slowdown and undermined the promises Trump made in 2016.

After taking a huge hit during the 2007-2009 recession, manufacturing recovered at a consistent pace from 2010 to 2015, as the following charts show. There was a slowdown toward the end of Obama’s second term, but manufacturing output picked up again near the end of 2016 and continued into 2018. Then another slowdown occurred in 2019. Biden calls that a manufacturing recession, and technically, that’s correct, since it entailed two consecutive quarters of declining manufacturing output. Production recovered in the third quarter of 2019 but dipped again in the fourth quarter, before output plunged in 2020 amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The owner of the San Francisco salon is shutting down her business after the controversy surrounding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi not wearing a face mask inside.

The owner of eSalon, Erica Kious, told “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday that the salon was closing.

“I am actually done in San Francisco and closing my doors, unfortunately,” Kious said, blaming the criticism she received from the Pelosi incident. Kious said she has lived in San Francisco for 15 years and is “afraid to go back.”

“I started to just get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, all my Yelp reviews … saying that they hope I go under and that I fail,” she said. “So just a lot of negativity towards my business.”

Pelosi, a California Democrat, said last week the salon owes her an apology after video surveillance footage from inside the business showed her with wet hair and a mask around her neck on Aug. 31, The Los Angeles Times reported.

The video was originally released by Fox News last week, and Pelosi faced backlash for the visit, including from President Donald Trump.

“It was clearly a setup,” Pelosi said during a press conference. “I take responsibility for falling for a setup by a neighborhood salon I’ve gone to for many years.”

Hair salons have been closed in San Francisco since March and were allowed to reopen on Sept. 1 for outdoor services, according to Forbes.
