Early voting appears to be a mixed bag at best for both sides...

Early voting data in battleground states shows Trump outpacing national polls giving Biden an edge
The Republican Party is keeping pace in mail-in and early voting in three key swing states despite polls showing early voting should clearly favor Joe Biden.
Data out of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio indicates that registered Republicans are returning ballots at about the same rate as registered Democrats in the battleground states.
In Michigan as of Wednesday, just over 1 million ballots have been returned, 40% from registered Democrats, with the same from registered Republicans. In Wisconsin, 40% of the 711,855 returned ballots have been from Democrats, while 38% have come from Republicans. The GOP actually leads in Ohio, with 45% of 475,259 early ballot returns coming from Republicans, compared to 43% from registered Democrats. The preliminary data matches up with the requests by party affiliation for mail-in ballots.

Now I read the exact opposite in another story that suggested that early voting was overwhelmingly being done by Democrats based on a "Washington Post" analysis. Ironically the WaPo analysis is being done in states completely different from states reported here, so there may be room to suggest that early voting is a mixed bag and not consistent from state to state. Perhaps both sides are cherry picking numbers that look good for them, and ignoring other numbers. We are also talking about an extremely small amount of voters in the grand scheme of things.

I would also caution that it's easier to look at returned mail in ballots than look more specifically at early in-person voting that just started which is what the WaPo team seems to be concentrating on. The WaPo analysis also appears to be factoring in demographics (such as gender and race) as a means to assist them in who is voting. When your statement of fact includes the term that Democrats "appear to" have an edge, you have to wonder exactly how scientific things are. The fact that their analysis included in person interviews of early in person voters makes me more skeptical that their analysis is "objective". Why is there any need to "interview" people to tell how many voters are showing up early?

But what this does do is put some of the polling in perspective. If polling is to be believed, Democrats should be seeing a fairly significant early voting advantage. That advantage should be somewhere between a 60-40 and a 75-25 Democrat to Republican split based on what the polling shows. If polling is not getting the early voting numbers correct, then should we expect other polling numbers to be correct?

If Trump were to win Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin again in 2020 (where he is down considerably in the polling), then that comfortable Joe Biden win would be looking more and more like a 2016 nail biter with a lot of questions (again) about how the polling was so wrong.

I suspect early voting will favor democrats who are basically voting anti-Trump. This would likely be especially true with mail-in or drop-off voting where democrats are avoiding any human contact for Covid concerns.

I would also say that there is a tremendous gap in voter enthusiasm between Trump and Biden and the latest revelations will only steer more independents to Trump. Others have said this is a turn-out election and that may well be the case.

Hopefully it will turn out well for Trump like in 2016.

And I suspect it will despite the polls.

My guess is that if Trump prevails he will carry swing congressional districts with him... and some senators.

Why Democrats Remain Nervous About Biden’s Chances
9:08 am
“In private, some top Democrats remain nervous about the presidential race, despite Joe Biden’s lead in swing state after swing state — and strength in states that had looked out of reach (including Georgia, Ohio and Iowa),” Axios reports.

Tom Edsall points to a massive surge in registration for working-class whites and quotes a Democratic strategist who reported that white, non-college, over-30 registrations in battleground states had recently “increased by 10 points compared to September 2016, and the Democratic margin dropped 10 points to just six points.”

Rupert Murdoch Predicts Biden Landslide
9:20 am
“President Trump’s influential supporter Rupert Murdoch is telling close associates he believes Joe Biden will win the election in a landslide,” the Daily Beast reports.

“The Australian-born billionaire is disgusted by Trump’s handling of COVID-19, remarking that the president is his own worst enemy, that he is not listening to advice about how best to handle the pandemic, and that he’s creating a never-ending crisis for his administration.”

When asked for comment, Murdoch said: “No comment except I’ve never called Trump an idiot.”

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll of registered voters finds Joe Biden leading Donald Trump,

Fauci on coronavirus herd immunity:
'THAT IS NONSENSE AND VERY DANGEROUS'
Yahoo News Oct 15th 2020 9:40AM

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Thursday denounced the concept of herd immunity — the notion that if a large enough group of people contract an infection, it will ultimately stop the disease from spreading — calling it “nonsense” during an interview with Yahoo News.

“Anybody who knows anything about epidemiology will tell you that is nonsense and very dangerous,” Fauci told Yahoo News, “because what will happen is that if you do that, by the time you get to herd immunity, you will have killed a lot of people that would have been avoidable.”

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the White House coronavirus task force, discussed the coronavirus pandemic and the country’s response to it during a live interview Thursday morning with Yahoo News Editor-in-Chief Chief Daniel Klaidman and Chief Investigative Correspondent Michael Isikoff.

The coronavirus has killed more than 216,000 people in the U.S. and infected more than seven million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Now, more than seven months after coronavirus was declared a pandemic, Fauci said Thursday that the U.S. is not in a good place.

“We talk about a second wave,” he said, “we’ve never really gotten out of the first wave. If you look at the baseline number of daily infections that we have had over the last several weeks [it’s] been around 40,000 per day. It's now gone up to about 50,000 per day. So right away, we have a very unfortunate baseline from which we need to deal.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the White House coronavirus task force, talked to Yahoo News Editor in Chief Daniel Klaidman and Chief Investigative Correspondent Michael Isikoff on Oct. 15, 2020.
When asked about the herd immunity approach, which has been reportedly embraced by the White House, Fauci said that virtually anyone with a solid understanding of epidemiology would disagree with the idea of letting everyone get infected.

“My position is known. Dr. Deborah Birx’s position is known and Dr. [Robert] Redfield,” he said. “So you have me as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Debbie Birx, as the coordinator and a very experienced infectious disease person, the coordinator of the task force; and you have Bob Redfield, who's the director of the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention]. All three of us very clearly are against that.”
_______________

TRUMP IS TRYING TO MUZZLE THESE EXPERTS.
THROW HIM OUT, AND LET SCIENTIFIC LIGHT INTO THE WHITE HOUSE AGAIN.

AUSTIN – A record 16.9 million Texans are registered to vote in the Nov. 3 election, according to new data from the Texas secretary of state’s

It’s an increase of about 1.8 million voters since the 2016 presidential election, when 15.1 million, or about 78% of the state’s voting-age population, registered to vote.

The latest figure, released Monday, also accounted for roughly 78% percent of the state’s eligible voters, although it’s not the final statewide registration number ahead of the Nov. 3 election. The official count is expected in the coming days, according to secretary of state officials.

The number grew by nearly 300,000 from two weeks ago, the last time the agency reported registration figures. The deadline to register to vote in Texas was Oct. 5. Early voting started Tuesday and runs through Oct. 30.

High turnout favors the Democrats. In 2018 we saw a record turnout for a midterm election.

If this election has an all time turnout, the Democrats may get all three houses and more important state legislators, because they can gerrymander in their favor

Trump will go crazy.

YouTube on Thursday became the latest social media giant to take steps to stop QAnon, the sprawling pro-Trump conspiracy theory community whose online fantasies about a cabal of satanic pedophiles running the world have spilled over into offline violence.

The company announced in a blog post that it was updating its hate speech and harassment policies to prohibit “content that targets an individual or group with conspiracy theories that have been used to justify real-world violence.” The new policy will prohibit content promoting QAnon, as well as related conspiracy theories such as Pizzagate, which falsely claims that top Democrats and Hollywood elites are running an underground sex-trafficking ring from the basement of a Washington pizza restaurant.

Other social networks have also taken steps to curb the spread of QAnon, which has been linked to incidents of violence and vandalism. Last week, Facebook hardened its rules related to QAnon content and compared it to a “militarized social movement” that was becoming increasingly violent. This week, several smaller platforms, including Pinterest, Etsy and Triller, also announced new restrictions on QAnon content.

Under YouTube’s new policy, which goes into effect today, “content that threatens or harasses someone by suggesting they are complicit” in a harmful theory like QAnon or Pizzagate will be banned. News coverage of these theories and videos that discuss the theories without targeting individuals or groups may still be allowed.

“Q,” began posting cryptic messages on 4chan, the notoriously toxic message board, claiming to possess classified information about a secret battle between President Trump and a global cabal of pedophiles. QAnon believers — known as “bakers” — began discussing and decoding them in real time on platforms including Reddit and Twitter, connecting the dots on a modern rebranding of centuries-old anti-Semitic tropes that falsely accused prominent Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and the liberal financier George Soros, of pulling the strings on a global sex trafficking conspiracy.

Few platforms played a bigger role in moving QAnon from the fringes to the mainstream than YouTube. In the movement’s early days, QAnon followers produced YouTube documentaries that offered an introductory crash course in the movement’s core beliefs. The videos were posted on Facebook and other platforms, and were often used to draw new recruits. Some were viewed millions of times.

QAnon followers also started YouTube talk shows to discuss new developments related to the theory. Some of these channels amassed large audiences and made their owners prominent voices within the movement.

“YouTube has a huge role in the Q mythology,” said Mike Rothschild, a conspiracy theory debunker who is writing a book about QAnon. “There are major figures in the Q world who make videos on a daily basis, getting hundreds of thousands of views and packaging their theories in slick clips that are a world away from the straight-to-camera rambles so prominent in conspiracy theory video making.”

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The Federalist Society is attempting to overturn the first amendment.

The actions of Facebook and Twitter today represent nothing less than a brazen attempt by corrupt Big Tech partisans who intend to steal the election from the American people.

On Wednesday morning, the New York Post published a blockbuster story — complete with e-mails, documents, and photographs — detailing the efforts of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter to sell his father’s influence to foreign oligarchs with an interest in swaying American foreign policy to support their own business efforts. And by Wednesday afternoon, monopolistic social media giants Facebook and Twitter moved to throttle and even outright ban circulation of the New York Post story.

There’s no need to speculate on why they did this. There is no justification for safety or the public interest. No one’s life was put at risk by this information. They took these actions for blatantly partisan reasons: They want Joe Biden to win.

The announcements themselves came from partisans who traded their political access for careers in Silicon Valley. When Twitter earlier this year banned the President of the United States — the leader of the free world — from tweeting a video to an interview he did on the largest cable news network in the country, it announced that action via Nick Pacilio, a former communications staffer for Democratic vice presidential Kamala Harris.

Facebook’s announcement that it would throttle access to the New York Post’s investigative reporting came via Andy Stone, a former Democratic congressional and campaign staffer who worked for Barbara Boxer and John Kerry.

As of this moment, every American voter is currently banned from linking to news reported by one of the largest papers in one of the largest states in the country. Even The New York Post’s primary Twitter account has been locked — they claim the Hunter Biden stories violate their rules against the “distribution of hacked material” — something that apparently didn’t matter regarding President Trump’s illegally obtained tax returns. Twitter users can’t even direct message the story. That’s how much CEO Jack Dorsey doesn’t want you to know what’s in it.

This represents far more than a one-off incident of an algorithm mistakenly censoring an article or user post. Instead, it is a coordinated declaration of partisan war on America’s electoral process by the unelected tech oligarch class against the American people, making use of the monopoly power and federal legal immunity afforded to these globalist overlords by the U.S. Congress and federal anti-trust authorities.

The latest effort to ban Americans from reading news about candidates for federal office represents an intentional and very public information coup. It’s long past time that the lawmakers who represent the country stand up and say enough is enough: They will no longer be able to muzzle the American public or its First Amendment free press under color of license via section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

That particular section of federal law immunizes digital platforms from certain speech published by its users or other third-parties. And even though the law gives them no protection for statements or actions they take as publishers, many courts (and most D.C.-based tech policy non-profits) have been either conned or purchased into believing that Facebook, Twitter, and Google are similarly exempt from any liability for what those institutions themselves publish of their own volition.

“It is barely possible now to imagine the GOP had Trump been different.

"He came without ideology, propelled by a gift for embodying a potent but undefined populism.

"He might have become an agent of constructive reinvention,

rejecting racism and xenophobia

in favor of offering embattled middle-class and blue-collar workers genuine economic uplift.

"He could have reinstated fiscal responsibility by disdaining tax cuts for the wealthy.
(WHICH HE PROMISED TO DO, BUT HE LIED.)

He might even have taken steps—if not to drain the swamp—at least to reform it.
(WHICH HE ALSO PROMISED TO DO, BUT HE LIED.)

“But that would have required real talent,
sustained attention,
and a genuine interest in governance
FOR THE PEOPLE,
FOR THE GOOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE.

"Instead this irredeemably vicious, vacant,
and narcissistic demagogue
unleashed white identity politics
and
the endless overreach of Republican donors.

"This leads inexorably to the deadest of ends
—a demographic death knell for his party
and,
for our democracy, the most grievous of wounds.”

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Thus, a law drafted to protect companies from civil liability for removing third-party-posted illegal content like child pornography is now being used as a shield against all liability, and a sword against any individual or institution who posts something that conflicts with the left-wing views of the Silicon Valley technorati.

This week, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas indicated this is an issue the Court is ready to consider if a Congress heavily influenced by Big Tech money will not. “When Congress enacted the statute, most of today’s major Internet platforms did not exist,” he wrote, “And in the 24 years since, we have never interpreted this provision. But many courts have construed the law broadly to confer sweeping immunity on some of the largest companies in the world.”

“Extending §230 immunity beyond the natural reading of the text can have serious consequences” he added, noting that while the issue is not before the Court yet, “in an appropriate case, it behooves us to do so.”

America’s elected Republicans should not wait for the Court. If Silicon Valley insists, in the vein of George Orwell’s unfortunately prophetic INGSOC, on enforcing Newspeak guidelines regardless of their relation to reality, thereby declaring openly partisan war against American news consumers, then the elected representatives of the only major political party left in America that still believes in and defends the First Amendment needs to declare war right back.

For years, Big Tech did nothing to stop the vicious and false Russian collusion hoax, which was perpetrated on the American people by Russian agent Christopher Steele and suspected Russian spy Igor Danchenko. For years, Big Tech had no problem with foreign election meddlers using its platforms to cripple the American presidency. Big Tech was fine with corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs using illegal leaks and fake news to attempt the literal overthrow and ouster of the U.S. president. Instead, they expressed their deep concern about the influence of laughable memes of Jesus endorsing Donald Trump.

Big Tech’s quislings will claim that they treat all information the same, that they would never put their dirty thumbs on the scale in favor of one party or ideological movement over the other, and that even if they did, there are reasons why this or that is a special case. But everyone with eyes to see knows the truth by now: that’s nonsense.

Enough is enough. Lawmakers can stand by and watch Big Tech steamroll information in an un-American attempt to manipulate our elections while muzzling hundreds of millions of Americans, or they can stand up and drive a spoke in the wheel.

This is why we have to win. If Trump wins again, we will be a banana Republic

The mainstream media has been an embarrassment. It so revered the Obama administration that, instead of reporting on its officials’ malfeasance, it protected them. It is still protecting them, as well as Hillary Clinton and her campaign. The country’s leading news organizations had zero interest in uncovering serious violations of constitutional norms governing fair elections and unbiased law enforcement. Instead, they leaped head-first down the “Trump-Russia collusion” rabbit hole. They emerged dirty but unbowed. One result is that about half the American public now believes the media is a branch of the Democratic Party. Actually, everyone does, but only half thinks it’s a bad thing.

Republican frustration with this coverup is palpable. After four years, they say, we still don’t have a full accounting of how the Obama administration used the powerful tools of law enforcement and intelligence agencies against a political opponent. We ought to know before the election, but we won’t. If the Democrats win and take back the Justice Department, we may never know. Why would a Biden administration ever want to pursue that issue?

This veil of ignorance, constructed so assiduously by its malefactors, goes to the heart of our democratic process. It bears directly on the current election. Yet the biggest questions linger unanswered because Congress and the media failed in their duties. Their failure left only federal prosecutors to investigate, and they couldn’t begin until Mueller and Sessions were gone. Durham’s criminal investigation is necessarily secret, and properly so. It moves at its own deliberate pace. For voters, that’s too slow. The alleged crimes are grave, those involved were high-ranking officials plus the Democrats’ 2016 candidate. The party’s 2020 nominee ranked second only to Barack Obama when the crimes were committed. The unhappy result is this whole nettle of serious crimes remains hidden from voters who deserve to know.

That may bite the GOP in the buttocks, if or when Twitter Executive Dorsey makes a convincing case for

Actually in a Covid world you need to think of the MSM as super-spreaders.

The FBI hid the evidence on Hunter Biden's laptop.

Just like they did with Huma Abedin's laptop.

And where are the tapes from raid on Jeffrey Epstein's home?

Or the 31 phones the Mueller team destroyed?

It looks like the FBI/DOJ is really just a DNC clean-up company.

Wray needs to go, bring in an outsider. Grenell would be perfect, or Sidney Powell.

Just saw for myself a behind the scenes look at the #HunterBiden hard drive:

Drugs, underage obsessions, power deals...

Druggie Hunter makes Anthony Weiner's down under selfie addiction look normal.

#BidenCrimeFamily has a lot of apologizing to do.

pedophilia ????

Who would have guessed.

We are The United States Of America.

We separate the powers between the federal government and the state government.

Right now I am seeing the Republicans are trying hard to undue Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid. They can't accomplish anything like this without stocking The Supreme Court with federalist justices.

Actors Protest to NBC Over Trump Town Hall

So you can sell access to the Vice President of the United States to the Chinese for $30 million & the FBI won't prosecute you?

And the evidence can be handed over to the FBI & they will cover it up?

We are just one election away from being a banana republic.

And remember everything the dems accuse you of is what they are really doing.

Including this.

Sasse Says Trump ‘Kisses Dictators’ Butts’
2:39 pm

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE), in a private call with constituents, excoriated President Trump, saying he had
mishandled the coronavirus response,
“kisses dictators’ butts,”
“sells out our allies,”
spends “like a drunken sailor,”
mistreats women,
and trash-talks evangelicals behind their backs.

He added that Trump has
“flirted with white supremacists”
and his family
“treated the presidency like a business opportunity.”

Biden Takes Double-Digit Lead Over Trump
3:23 pm
A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll finds Joe Biden leading Donald Trump among likely voters,
54% to 43%.

“It’s the highest level of support Biden has achieved since the poll began testing the head-to-head matchup in February. Biden has never been below 50% in the question in the Marist poll, and Trump has never been above 44%.”

Trump Tears Into NBC Before Town Hall Event
3:09 pm
President Trump ripped into NBC just hours before appearing on the network for a town hall forum.

Said Trump: “So you know, I’m being set up tonight, right. I’m doing this town hall with Con-cast. So I’m doing it and it’s NBC. The worst.”

He added: “And so they asked me if I’d do it, and I figured what the hell, we’ve got a free hour on television.”

Trump Says Only Jesus Is More Famous
2:35 pm
President Trump speaking at a campaign rally in North Carolina: “Someone said to me the other day, ‘You’re the most famous person in the world by far.’ I said, ‘No, I’m not.'”

“They said, ‘Who’s more famous?’ I said, ‘Jesus Christ.'”

He added: “I’m not taking any chances.”

Giuliani’s Daughter Urges Vote for Biden!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:31 pm

Rudy Giuliani’s daughter, Caroline, writes in Vanity Fair that she’s voting for Joe Biden.

“If being the daughter of a polarizing mayor who became the president’s personal bulldog has taught me anything, it is that corruption starts with ‘yes-men’ and women, the cronies who create an echo chamber of lies and subservience to maintain their proximity to power. We’ve seen this ad nauseam with Trump and his cadre of high-level sycophants (the ones who weren’t convicted, anyway).”

SHE'S TALKING ABOUT HER OWN, UNCONVICTED (SO FAR) FATHER, FOLKS!
