So it is no secret that the media and social media lies have been increasing to a fever pitch as we move closer to the election. When there isn't any real news, the media will either make shit up (using anonymous sources that are pretty much always wrong) or just by rehashing an old story and pretending it's new.
But when the President of the United States is hospitalized and media and social media cannot simply report the news, then we have reached a new low in the honesty, responsibility, and any semblance of professionalism.
Within a couple of hours of the news that the President tested positive for Covid, the left has gone non-stop into crazy conspiracies, angry diatribes, and flat out lies. Not sure what was being accomplished with any of this, other than to further reduce the ability to take what the media states seriously. Moreover the angry and spiteful reporting, exposes many of these people for the hateful partisans that they really are.
To be clear, the President (and several other prominent people within the political sphere) have recently tested positive. Nearly all of these people are asymptomatic, but the President apparently had some drops in his oxygen levels, and other mild symptoms that required some attention.
From what we have been told by the actual doctors treating the President is currently being treated in a military hospital, and by all accounts should be discharged sometime this week. Every professional medical person associated with the President has suggested that most of this largely preventative, that the President has never been in mortal danger, and that the President was feeling well and in good spirits.
But this didn't stop certain people from not accepting this reality and spreading rumors. Suddenly everyone becomes a Covid treatment expert, and everyone from foot doctors to dental hygienists are offering opinions. Ironically the less qualified the "experts" are, the more negative their hypothetical diagnostics become.
The President just tweeted another video about an hour ago. He wasn't in a hospital bed, he wasn't in a wheelchair, he wasn't hooked up to oxygen, and he didn't look like anyone about to die. He didn't sign a blank piece of paper, he didn't look pale, scared, or unable to sit up on his own. The video wasn't prerecorded, and nothing about it was "fake".
The President looked to be in good spirits, was about to make some surprise appearances, and promised to speak to the American public about what he has learned from this experience. Not sure why this is so hard for some to accept, but it appears to be reality.

To be perfectly clear, those of us who believe that Covid has been overhyped and that we have taken much of these mandates and lock downs too far, are not afraid of "catching Covid". The reality is that while approximately seven million Americans have tested positive for Covid, the actual number of people who have probably contracted the virus is in the tens of millions. As many as nine in ten probably didn't know they had it.
The issue is that the drastic measures are designed to prevent people from catching a virus that has very little chance of having serious negative effects for most people. The fact that the President (and others) contracted the virus is not the point here. The point here is that the President (and approximately 99.7% of those who catch the virus) will not die from it. The reality is that the country walks around acting as if catching Covid is a death sentence, when it fact it's just a virus that will hardly affect the vast majority of people.
Assuming the vast array of people who recently contacted Covid do not perish, the lesson that should be taught is that it isn't actually a death sentence. Perhaps this is why certain people want to make the President's experience more negative than it has actually been. Perhaps the idea that Trump might catch Covid, take some drugs that critics claim don't work, and come out fairly unscathed might backfire after claiming originally that this all "proves their point".
The last laugh and the last "I told you so" just might be Trump's to enjoy here.

I guess that excuses the danger people were put in during that little rose garden performance the other night, or the danger people were put in as the President, knowing that he had tested positive in a primary test, kept that from people he was associating with at Fox News, or telling some of those who tested positive not to tell anyone.
I guess it's the fault of the media that doctors gave conflicting reports that made it sound as if everything was rosy only to be contradicted off the record by press people being told that the situation was a lot more serious than that. I guess it's the media's fault that Trump is furious at the person who felt compelled to tamp down the doctors' rosy word with precautionary statements.

"Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary Presidential “drive-by” just now has to be quarantined for 14 days," he tweeted. "They might get sick. They may die. For political theater. This is insanity."
"President Trump took a short, last-minute motorcade ride to wave to his supporters outside and has now returned to the Presidential Suite inside Walter Reed," deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement.
Patients who test positive for COVID-19 are typically required to quarantine for 14 days, which is the incubation period for the virus, to avoid infecting others. Trump first publicized his positive test early Friday morning, and he has been symptomatic since then, meaning he is likely still contagious.

“It’s been a very interesting journey. I learned a lot about COVID,” Trump said, standing in his hospital room in a video posted on social media. “I learned it by really going to school.”
He added, “I get it, and I understand it."
At least one medical professional inside Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where Trump has been hospitalized since Friday evening, questioned whether Trump had really learned anything about the virus that has swept through Republican leadership.

Trump's doctors revealed Sunday that they gave the president a steroid treatment typically only recommended for the very sick. But they sidestepped questions about exactly when Trump’s blood oxygen dropped — an episode they neglected to mention in multiple statements the day before — or whether lung scans showed any damage.
It was the second straight day of confusion and obfuscation from a White House already suffering from a credibility crisis. And it raised questions about whether the doctors treating the president were sharing accurate, timely information with the American public about the severity of him condition.

A neighbor of mine who is a rescue worker was telling me today that it is very strange for that particular steroid treatment to be given this early along, for it poses some danger and is usually administered only when a crisis situation has been reached. And the idea that Trump might be discharged by Monday he highly doubted. He thinks there's more going on here than is being shared with the public.

Blood oxygen saturation is a key health marker for COVID-19 patients. A normal reading is between 95 and 100. Conley said the president had a “high fever” and a blood oxygen level below 94% on Friday and during “another episode” on Saturday.
He was evasive about the timing of Trump oxygen drops. (“It was over the course of the day, yeah, yesterday morning,” he said) and asked whether Trump’s level had dropped below 90%, into concerning territory. (“We don’t have any recordings here on that.”) But he revealed that Trump was given a dose of the steroid dexamethasone in response.
At the time of the briefing, Trump’s blood oxygen level was 98% — within normal rage, Trump’s medical team said.
Signs of pneumonia or other lung damage could be detected in scans before a patient feels short of breath, but the president’s doctors declined to say what those scans have revealed.
“There’s some expected findings, but nothing of any major clinical concern,” Conley said. He declined to outline those “expected findings.”
Asked about Conley’s lack of transparency, White House aide Alyssa Farah suggested the doctors were speaking as much to the president as to the American public, “when you’re treating a patient, you want to project confidence, you want to lift their spirits and that was the intent.”
Trump was back on social media Sunday.
First he shared a video of flag-waving supporters outside the hospital, many of them not wearing face masks to prevent spread of the virus. And later, he sent his loyalists a direct message on Twitter: “The fact is, they really love our Country and are seeing how we are MAKING IT GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!”
Trump’s Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, pulled his attack ads off the air during Trump’s hospitalization, and on Sunday, he dispatched senior aides to deliver a largely friendly message.
“We are sincerely hoping that the president makes a very quick recovery, and we can see him back out on the campaign trail very soon,” Biden adviser Symone Sanders said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
She added, “This is a glaring reminder that the virus is real.”
Biden was at home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Sunday with no plans for in-person campaigning or other public appearances. Having already tested negative, he is expected to release the results of a new coronavirus test later in the day. His campaign has pledged to disclose those results and all other future test results for the 77-year-old candidate.

Among the concerns with earlier use is that steroids tamp down certain immune cells, hindering the body’s own ability to fight off infection.

Several White House officials this weekend expressed frustration with the way level of transparency and public disclosure since the president announced his diagnosis early Friday.
They were particularly upset by the whiplash between Conley’s rosy assessment Saturday and Meadows’ more concerned outlook. Oct 4 (Reuters) - Nine U.S. states have reported record increases in COVID-19 cases over the last seven days, mostly in the upper Midwest and West where chilly weather is forcing more activities indoors.
On Saturday alone, four states - Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana and Wisconsin - saw record increases in new cases and nationally nearly 49,000 new infections were reported, the highest for a Saturday in seven weeks, according to a Reuters analysis. Kansas, Nebraska, New Hampshire, South Dakota and Wyoming also set new records for cases last week.
Daytime highs in many of these states are now in the 50s Fahrenheit (10 Celsius). Health experts have long warned that colder temperatures driving people inside could promote the spread of the virus.
Montana has reported record numbers of new cases for three out of the last four days and also has a record number of COVID-19 patients in its hospitals.
Wisconsin has set records for new cases two out of the last three days and also reported record hospitalizations on Saturday. On average 22% of tests are coming back positive, one of the highest rates in the country.
Wisconsin's Democratic governor mandated masks on Aug. 1 but Republican lawmakers are backing a lawsuit challenging the requirement.

Bellin Health, which runs a hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin, said last week its emergency department has been past capacity at times and doctors had to place patients in beds in the hallways.
The United States is reporting 42,600 new cases and 700 deaths on average each day, compared with 35,000 cases and 800 deaths in mid-September. Deaths are a lagging indicator and tend to rise several weeks after cases increase.
Kentucky is the first Southern state to report a record increase in cases in several weeks. Governor Andy Beshear said last week was the highest number of cases the state has seen since the pandemic started.
State health experts have not pinpointed the reason for the rise but point to fatigue with COVID-19 precautions and students returning to schools and colleges. Over the last two weeks, Kentucky has reported nearly 11,000 new cases and has seen hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients rise by 20%.

Poll: Trump's Supreme Court gambit could benefit Biden

WASHINGTON, Oct 2 (Reuters) -
President Donald Trump's nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court has energized his conservative supporters, but public opinion on abortion, healthcare and other hot-button issues the court may face could work against him in the November election, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling.
Trailing Democrat Joe Biden in national opinion polls, the Republican Trump hopes to build enthusiasm for his re-election among undecided and independent voters, especially in U.S. battleground states that decide presidential elections.
But those voters are more likely to align with Democratic positions favoring abortion rights and the Affordable Care Act(ACA), a healthcare law popularly known as Obamacare, and may be turned off by the appointment of a conservative judge at odds with their views, according to the polling conducted in September and released this week.
Among both independent and undecided voters, those who want abortion to remain legal outnumber those who do not by nearly a 2-to-1 margin, according to the Reuters/Ipsos polling. The polls also show that 56 percent of suburban women, a demographic that Trump has been courting, support abortion rights.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that Obamacare, which Trump has vowed to scrap, is backed by six of 10 registered independent and undecided voters. It also is relatively popular among groups that Trump usually relies on for support, such as whites without a college degree, half of whom say the law should be retained.
Obamacare is on the high court docket on Nov. 10, a week after the election.
The Trump administration has sued to overturn the law. If the Supreme Court strikes down the law, more than 20 million Americans would lose their health insurance outright and millions more could have reduced coverage.
The Biden campaign has made the uncertain future of Obamacare a staple of its messaging. The law requires insurance companies to cover consumers with pre-existing conditions at affordable rates. Biden favors expanding Obamacare by allowing consumers to buy into a government-run health plan.
Priorities USA, a political-action committee that backs Biden, has launched a multi-million-dollar TV ad campaign in Midwestern states that highlights Trump’s efforts to “gut” Obamacare in the Supreme Court.
The Democratic National Committee meanwhile has launched another TV ad that warns Trump is trying to "rush through" a nominee who would strip away protection for chronic health conditions and COVID-19.
But Matt Mackowiak, a Republican strategist in Texas, said Barrett's nomination could solidify support for Trump among Catholics and women voters who may be alienated by Trump's personal conduct but prefer a conservative on the high court.
The Trump campaign has cut its own TV advertisement celebrating Barrett's "conservative values."
"It's a unifying issue on the right," Mackowiak said.
Barrett, 48, has proven reliably conservative since Trump appointed her to a federal appeals court in 2017. Her confirmation by the Republican-led U.S. Senate would give the Supreme Court a 6-3 conservative majority.
Trump wants her confirmed before Election Day, Nov. 3. Democrats say any nomination should wait for the results of the election and plan to oppose Barrett, a favorite of religious conservatives.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that majorities of both independents and undecideds would rather wait to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died last month, and allow the winner of the presidential election to appoint her successor.
Although Barrett has yet to rule directly on the issue, abortion rights activists fear she would vote as a justice to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide. Overturning the ruling has been a longstanding goal of U.S. religious conservatives.
In 2006 she signed on to an advertisement in an Indiana newspaper calling for the ruling to be overturned. It said: "It's time to put an end to the barbaric legacy of Roe v. Wade and restore law that protects the lives of unborn children."
In a 2017 law review article, she criticized conservative Chief Justice John Roberts' 2012 ruling preserving Obamacare, writing that he pushed the 2010 act beyond its plausible meaning to save the statute.
Biden’s campaign has made a priority of winning back voters in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin who supported Democratic President Barack Obama in 2012 but then flipped to Trump four years later.
As many as 25 percent of those voters in some states support the right to abortion, according to data compiled by David Wasserman, an analyst for the nonpartisan Cook Report.
Many of those Obama-Trump voters in the Midwest strayed to Trump over issues such as trade and immigration, “but they’re still pro-Roe v. Wade and against repealing the ACA,” Wasserman said.
“There’s an opportunity here for Democrats if they message it right."

Trump would develop a different level of hubris, humility and compassion for the more than 200,000 people who have died from COVID-19 now that he has become infected himself.

Lincoln Has Another Lesson for Trump
The essence of the American idea is unity under the law, through and despite difference.
“With malice toward none; with charity for all.”
President Trump, who has tested positive for the coronavirus, might dwell on Lincoln’s words in his second inaugural address. Trump has some time for reflection now. In that spirit of compassion, I wish the president and the first lady a rapid recovery.
Of course, Trump has ruled in an altogether different spirit,
dividing where he might heal,
inciting where he might reassure,
goading where he might soothe.
He has been intent on pitting one America against another, lacing his language with violence.
He has, without compunction or pause, demeaned the highest office in the land.
Might the president now feel some remorse?
To know that a virus that could kill you has a grip on your body prompts unlikely reflections.
I had a moderate case of Covid-19. I speak from experience of extreme discomfort and utter exhaustion.
Remorse, say, for waving away the virus.
“One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.”
Remorse for dismissing the wearing of masks —
“I don’t see it for myself” — and turning them into America’s tribal identifiers.
Remorse for his contempt for science.
Disinfectant “does a tremendous number on the lungs” and knocks out the virus “in a minute.”
Remorse for making a mockery of truth.
For dismissing climate change.
Those California fires are just poor forest management.
For the more than 200,000 dead Americans, some of whom may have lived if Trump had led with seriousness instead of playing down the coronavirus.
I doubt such a change of heart will occur.
Even if it can do nothing to stop a pathogen, narcissism is an impregnable shield against self-awareness.
Still, the lesson of this year is to be prepared for the improbable.
The notion that he has finally met his nemesis may surely cross Trump’s mind.
Remember the way Trump invoked Lincoln this year to suggest his own superiority —
“I think I’ve done more for the Black community than any other president, and let’s take a pass on Abraham Lincoln”?
Perhaps now he would pause a moment to read, or have read to him, that second inaugural?
I wish Trump and the first lady well. That is not a sentiment I have felt often during these past several years.
The essence of the American idea is unity under the law through and despite difference.
The idea lies dormant, but it is not dead.
It can be revived by statesmanship, that quaint old word.
Everybody, infected or not, has been looking at life anew, contemplating other, more sustainable ways of working and consuming.
Perhaps they have mused on how fragile life is and our civilization is.
How our planet burns.
How there may be more to discover in just being still than in running.
How less may be more.
How much a loved one may be missed.
How hollow the temples of consumption are;
and how, one morning through the mist, the towers of Manhattan may look like the medieval towers of San Gimignano, relics from another era.
Trump, now at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, is alone battling the virus within him.
Alone with his thoughts and a tenacious, unpredictable thing that he belittled.
It was an angry, barking, surly, rude, defiant Trump who showed up for the first debate with Joe Biden
and made no secret of his contempt for American democracy.
He said of the balloting that has already begun,
“It’s a fraud, and it’s a shame.”
Perhaps his supporters saw in him a muscular American self-reliance.
I saw a parody of that
— a relentless aggression as veneer over desperation
— and a clear and present danger to the Republic.
Before Trump tested positive for the virus, he boasted on Twitter,
“I won the debate.”
That’s loony.
There was one clear loser: America.
I was on a French radio show a couple of hours after the debate ended, and the segment opened with a 20-second clip of Trump, Biden and the moderator, Chris Wallace, all shouting at once.
That’s the world’s image of Trump’s America:
chaos and gobbledygook.
What now, at less than five weeks from the election?
We have our October surprise.
Trump’s symptoms are relatively mild, the White House says, but of course they could worsen.
Trump may have to quarantine for almost half the time that remains before Election Day.
No more big rallies full of unmasked people.
No more mocking of Biden for wearing a big mask.
Trump’s braggadocio, part of his appeal to millions of Americans, is in tatters.
He is mortal, and truth, like science, is relentless.
Perhaps there will be a sympathy vote for him.
Perhaps he will recover quickly with a redoubled conviction that the virus is an exaggerated threat,
or declaring that his enduring through the illness means that God wants him to be president.
But what I feel is the curtain coming down and closing a chapter of American derangement.
The virus is Trump’s deus ex machina.
Not his retribution but his salvation,
because the road he has trodden can only lead to disaster.
I wish him a good recovery,
and Americans the desperately needed renaissance
whose name is Joe Biden.
Scaramucci added, “I know for a fact two that have fallen ill who want to remain anonymous as a result of what’s going on in their lives, but these are people who worked in the White House, in one case, over a decade, and they’re working for a man that would not abide by his own CDC’s protocols, a result of which loyal people serving in the White House have been sick because of him. I think people need to know that about him. He doesn’t care about anybody other than himself, and that’s why we’re in the predicament that we’re in. What I would say to the president is, please go home, get well so the nation can also heal. We need to heal from the catastrophe that you put upon us.”

During an interview Sunday evening on MSNBC's The Week with Joshua Johnson, NBC News' Deepa Shivaram said, "We just did receive news from NBC's Peter Alexander putting out a note that the first lady herself...there's a note saying the reason she hasn't visited her husband at Walter Reed is because she didn't want to put those Secret Service agents and driver in harms' way and expose them to COVID."

COVID-19 is sufficiently unlike other viruses to have been created from them, and making a virus in the lab from scratch would be "virtually impossible," said Stanley Perlman, MD, PhD, professor of microbiology and immunology and pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. "I don't think we know enough about coronaviruses—or any virus—to be able to deliberately make a virus for release," he said.
James Le Duc, PhD, professor of microbiology and immunology and director of the Galveston National Laboratory at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, said that engineering COVID-19 "would have taken an incredible amount of ingenuity. People's imaginations are running wild."
Andersen said that the virus's receptor binding domain, which makes it an efficient human pathogen, is also found in coronaviruses in pangolins, scaly anteaters proposed as an intermediary host between bats and humans. "It's something that's fully natural, so it's not something that happens in tissue culture," he said.
Angela Rasmussen, PhD, an associate research scientist in the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University in New York City, said computer modeling suggests that the receptor-binding domain of the spike protein in SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is suboptimal, "meaning that someone designing an optimal receptor-binding domain sequence probably would not 'engineer' the sequence that evolved in SARS-CoV-2," she said.
"Furthermore, there are no genetic similarities with other virus backbones used in any of the known reverse genetics systems for betacoronaviruses. This suggests that this virus was not engineered."
Another COVID-19 feature, its furin cleavage site, which allows the virus to infect human cells, diminishes in tissue culture, Andersen said. "I think it could probably still infect people, I just think much less efficiently," he added.
Furthermore, he questions why anyone would go through the work of creating a new virus when they could simply take an existing virulent pathogen like the SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) or MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome) coronaviruses and make them even worse, as all bioweapons programs so far have done.
"It doesn't make any sense to make a new virus that you don't know can cause disease in humans and try to create a bioweapon out of it," Andersen said. "That would be a really bad bioweapons person."

I noticed that in President Trump’s first video statement from Walter Reed, he sounded more humble and more reasonable than I have ever before heard him. It was obvious that having the virus has sobered him.
However, he still seems to labor under the misapprehension that our being "the most powerful nation" on earth makes us "the greatest nation on earth."
No, it doesn’t. If the Nazis and the imperialistic Japanese had won WWII, they would have become (at least temporarily) the two most powerful nations on earth, but not the greatest.
No, what makes us truly great is our commitment to genuine democracy, to decency, and to caring and compassion even for the least of our sisters and brothers, no matter what their race, their ethnicity, their gender, their sexual orientation, or their status in life.
Our Declaration of Independence states that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" – and yet those words were written and affirmed at a time when many who were living in our land were enslaved, and when women were in no way equal citizens, nor were men who possessed no property.
No, what makes us really great is not our enormous power, but our ongoing struggle to right the wrongs of those and other "original sins" of our origin. What makes us truly great is an unceasing desire that “new births of freedom" will ultimately result in the emergence of government that really is – or will be – "of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
For all the people.
(We should absolutely insist that those words be added to our pledge.)

Trump's own disdain for face coverings is well known, but there is no good reason that hundreds of supposedly smart people should be going mask-free and rubbing elbows in a pandemic, as many leading Republicans did at the Barrett announcement. (A reminder: A person can spread the virus even when they're not showing symptoms.) Did they think they were impervious? Did they think they were smarter than the experts? Or did they fear Trump's judgment so much they were willing to risk their lives and health? None of those possibilities are comforting. For years now, critics have charged Trump-era GOP leaders with being unable to put the country before their party. It turns out they can't even put their own self-preservation before Trump and his desires.

. There is absolutely no medical reason for why Trump should be put into a car and paraded by his supporters, with two Secret Service agents in the front seat. None.
The reason why Trump did it, then? There are actually two.
1) He is increasingly concerned that being in the hospital makes him look weak in the eyes of voters. And for Trump, there is NOTHING worse than looking weak. He has spent his whole life projecting a tough-guy image and deriding those who he views to be less tough. Trump has released multiple videos from Walter Reed making sure his supporters know that while he's in the hospital he is still working -- and not laid low by the virus. But that wasn't enough for him. He wanted more of a show, more of a "moment" that would make clear that he was holding up against the virus. And so, the parade.
2) He needs to hear the cheers and applause of his most ardent backers. When Trump heard that there were people waving flags and standing vigil for him outside the hospital, it was like a moth to a flame. Trump has long believed that his raucous campaign rallies are the lifeblood of his campaign, and it's become increasingly clear how much he depends on them. This is a President who desperately needs to be affirmed for every word he says and action he takes. The applause, the chants, the MAGA hats -- they all fuel him. It's how he does what he does. And in the hospital, he hasn't been able to hold any rallies or even see people cheering for him. And so he leaped at the chance to do so.
Trump didn't think about anyone else -- and what his stunt might mean for them -- because that is not what he does. As he has proven time and time again as both a candidate for president and during his first term, he lacks the empathy gene. Trump views the world through a very simple lens: Is this good for me or bad for me? If the former, he does it. If the latter he doesn't.
While we all have that sef-preservation instinct, most of us do our best to broaden our vision to include the impacts our actions might have on others around us. Every past president has seen that primacy of the "we" over the "me" as a moral imperative to the job. Trump doesn't see the "we." Just the "me, me, me."

President Trump’s national security adviser, Robert O’Brien, said that he had warned his Russian counterpart last week that “there would be absolutely no tolerance for any interference” in the November election, but did not mention that American intelligence officials and a range of private firms had said they already saw evidence of Russian influence operations, the New York Times reports.

A new Monmouth poll finds Amy Kennedy (D) leads Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R) in New Jersey’s second congressional district, 49% to 44%.
Among likely voters in a high turnout scenario, Kennedy holds a 50% to 44% edge. She maintains that lead in a lower turnout model with 51% supporting her to 44% for Van Drew.
Van Drew was elected as a Democrat but switch parties last year.

President Trump’s former Homeland Security Adviser Thomas Bossert told the Washington Post it “needs to be pointed out” that the president and his top administration officials have been flouting coronavirus guidelines, which apparently led to the outbreak in the White House.
Said Bossert: “At this point, the president and senior people around him have violated all five core principles of the country’s coronavirus strategy. I do not wish to be perceived as criticizing him while he is in this condition, but that needs to be pointed out. I am praying for his full recovery.”

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on Monday that Senate Republicans should require testing for senators and staff if they will not delay a Supreme Court hearing scheduled to start next week, amid an outbreak of coronavirus cases.
"Instead of engaging in continuously more absurd and dangerous behavior, Chairman Graham should halt this already illegitimate nomination process, and if he refuses, he must put into place a thorough testing procedure that is in accordance with CDC best practices before hearings can take place," Schumer said in a statement.
Schumer added that holding the hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court nomination without implementing testing would be "intentionally reckless." He also floated that it would raise questions that Republicans "may not want to know the results, because it could delay this already illegitimate process."
He is trying to delay the vote until after the election.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany says she has tested positive for COVID-19. This comes days after President Donald Trump tested positive for the cornorvirus.
McEnany says in a statement that she tested positive Monday morning and is experiencing no symptoms at this time. She spoke briefly with reporters Sunday evening, but says that no members of the White House press corps spent enough time around her to be considered close contacts.
She says that she is beginning the quarantine process and “will continue working on behalf of the American People remotely.”
Biden Doesn’t Want to Comment on Trump’s Health
Joe Biden told reporters that he is “reluctant” to comment on questions relating to President Trump’s health and that as long as health experts feel it’s okay to do so, he wants to move ahead with the town hall presidential debate slated for October 15.
