Remember - Two million deaths were projected from Covid

We cut that by 90% and Joe Biden would have allowed way more to die.

I thought the travel bans that Dr Fauci said saved thousands of lives were racist.

Bloomberg:
Donald Trump Tests Positive for Coronavirus: Latest News on Virus (Covid-19)

U.S. President Donald Trump said early Friday that he has tested positive for coronavirus along with his wife and one of his closest aides, throwing an already volatile campaign into deeper disarray just one month before the election.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!,” the president said on Twitter, hours after Bloomberg News reported that the adviser, Hope Hicks, had fallen ill with the virus.

The election campaign against Democrat Joe Biden has focused heavily on Trump’s handling of the coronavirus, which has already killed more than 200,000 Americans and deepened inequalities. Biden and others have criticized Trump’s response as slow off the mark and ineffective.

Biden was expected to be tested for the virus on Friday, according to a person familiar with his campaign’s plans. The two shared a stage Tuesday at the presidential debate in Cleveland, where few if any in Trump’s entourage wore masks. Biden’s campaign has not yet made a decision about whether he will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday for a scheduled campaign trip.

The White House already announced that Trump was canceling all public events, including a rally in Florida, on Friday. Normal virus protocols could keep him off the campaign trail at least 10 days and possibly longer at a critical moment when he was trying to gain ground on Biden, who polls show is holding steady with about a 7 percentage-point lead nationally.

In addition, the announcement could complicate plans for a confirmation hearing and vote on Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, though as of early Friday there had been no change in the schedule that would start hearings the week of Oct. 12. It was also unknown what effect the development could have on negotiations over an economic stimulus package to counter the fallout from the virus, as House Democrats and the White House remained far apart.

It wasn’t immediately clear how Trump contracted the virus. Hicks tested positive after flying aboard Air Force One to the presidential debate in Cleveland on Tuesday and to a campaign rally in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Senior aides on Thursday discussed scenarios for how to handle both governing and campaigning if Trump tested positive, according to people familiar with the situation. Other White House aides learned the news of Trump’s illness when they awoke Friday morning.

Only a very small circle of people knew that Hicks had tested positive, and senior staff hoped to keep that information private, two of the people said.

Bloomberg:
U.S. stock futures fell more than 1% early Friday, and Treasuries rose as traders braced for more volatility. Even before Trump tested positive, markets -- from stocks to currencies and bonds -- had been pricing in the likelihood of turbulence on Election Day and the ensuing weeks. Now, with Trump’s health in doubt, investors are warning that the prolonged uncertainty and political chaos could become an even bigger risk for markets.

In a memo released early Friday morning, Trump’s physician said that the president and first lady plan to remain at the White House “during their convalescence” and that the medical unit would “maintain a vigilant watch.”

“Rest assured I expect the president to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments,” White House physician Sean Conley said.

Some of Trump’s closest aides said they sensed on Wednesday that Trump was feeling poorly but they chalked it up to fatigue from an intense campaign schedule.

The president seemed exhausted, one person familiar with the situation said.

If Trump were to become incapacitated, the 25th Amendment that allows for the vice president to take over would apply. But for now, the president is able to rest and work in the White House residence, people familiar with the matter said.

Judd Deere, a White House spokesman, said contact tracing for Trump and First Lady Melania Trump was being carried out and “the appropriate notifications and recommendations will be made.” Contact tracing for Hicks, he added, was already complete.

In a tweet, the first lady said that she and her husband “are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

“We spent a lot of time with Hope and others. So we’ll see what happens,” Trump said during the Fox interview with Sean Hannity.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Several other members of Trump’s circle tested positive for the virus earlier this year -- including National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.

His aides had worried that Trump’s lack of sleep during the final stretch of the presidential campaign could leave him especially vulnerable to infection. The president did not return to the White House until after midnight following his Tuesday and Wednesday trips. His age also puts him at greater risk for serious illness from the virus.

The development, while a source of concern for Americans, will make it harder for the president to continue trying to shift attention away from the virus and focus on his prized campaign issues, like accusing Democrats of promoting a ruinous socialist agenda and allowing U.S. cities to be overrun by violent protesters.

Trump has sought to diminish the significance of the virus amid surveys showing a majority of Americans disapprove of his handling of the pandemic, which he has said would simply “disappear.” Trump has pushed for states to reopen their economies even as caseloads have surged.

The president, who initially downplayed the importance of wearing masks and later endorsed their use, has seldom worn a face covering in public and also hasn’t followed recommendations about staying six feet away from others. The White House has said those precautions aren’t needed for Trump because people allowed in close proximity are tested for the virus.

Trump has said he had no regrets about his response to the pandemic, and argued that he “up-played it in terms of action” even though he told journalist Bob Woodward in a taped conversation that he downplayed the threat it posed in order to avoid scaring Americans. He again cast doubt on whether masks effectively prevent transmission of the virus.

“A lot of people don’t want to wear masks. There are a lot of people think that masks are not good,” Trump said in a Sept. 15 town hall event with ABC News.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

The president also has repeatedly hosted events where audience members didn’t wear masks or maintain distance from one another.

He held his first indoor campaign rally in months on Sept. 13 at a manufacturing plant in Las Vegas, flouting a Nevada order banning indoor gatherings of 50 or more people or more.

“I’m on stage, and it’s very far away,” Trump said in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, defending his decision to speak to thousands of supporters, few of whom wore masks or practiced social distancing. He spoke at a similar indoor gathering in Arizona the next day.

Days later, Trump spoke in front of hundreds of people on the South Lawn of the White House at a signing ceremony for diplomatic accords between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel. Few of the attendees were tested for Covid-19.

Though the Trump campaign said it followed “strict” safety protocols, the District of Columbia bans gatherings larger than 50 people. Few people in the crowd wore masks and White House officials said some, but not all, attendees were tested for Covid-19.

The president in late July began to publicly encourage Americans to wear masks if they cannot maintain social distance and avoid risky behavior, after months of casting doubt on public-health recommendations and promoting unproven treatments.

In May, for instance, he said he took the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure, days after Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary tested positive for the virus. The Food and Drug Administration revoked emergency approval for the drug as a Covid-19 treatment a month later, citing a lack of effectiveness and harmful potential side effects.

Trump also joins other world leaders who have tested positive for the virus, including Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez. All of them survived, though Johnson became seriously ill.

a stunning level of bigotry and intolerance from the Biden campaign that will be completely ignored by the MSM...

A Joe Biden staffer suggested that orthodox Christians, Jews, and Muslims who adopt traditional values are “intolerant,” that their beliefs should be “taboo,” and that they should be disqualified from serving on the Supreme Court.

Politico contributing editor Adam Wren noted that President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett “was a trustee at a South Bend private school that described ‘homosexual acts’ as ‘at odds with Scripture’ & said marriage was between ‘one man and one woman’ years after Obergefell v. Hodges.”

Shadi Hamid, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, responded, “Wait, why is this news? Isn’t this the standard position for any orthodox Catholic?”

At this point, the Biden staffer chimed in. Nikitha Rai, deputy data director for Pennsylvania at Biden’s campaign, responded to Hamid, saying, “Unfortunately, yes.”

Hamid responded, “to be fair, it’s the standard position for any orthodox Muslim or Jew as well…”

“True,” Rai acknowledged. Yet the staffer insisted that this perspective must be marginalized. “I’d heavily prefer views like that not be elevated to SCOTUS [the Supreme Court of the U.S.], but unfortunately our current culture is still relatively intolerant. It will be a while before those types of beliefs are so taboo that they’re disqualifiers.”

Rai has locked her account since tweeting those statements, but Jeremy McLellan, a Catholic comedian, captured screenshots. “Here’s a [Joe Biden] staffer saying that orthodox Christianity, Islam, and Judaism should be made ‘taboo’ and driven from the public sphere,” McLellan noted. “Beneath all the talk of ‘interfaith’ and ‘pluralism,’ this is what they really believe.”

Rat, there are some fanatic forms of Islam and some other religions whose adherents sincerely believe that homosexuals should be executed on sight without trial just for being homosexuals. I suppose if someone who professes that belief were to be nominated for Supreme Court Justice by a Republican president, you would uphold and defend that person's right to be seated.

no, antifa's not organized. not organized at all...

On the last Sunday in May, Jeremy Lee Quinn, a furloughed photographer in Santa Monica, Calif., was snapping photos of suburban moms kneeling at a Black Lives Matter protest when a friend alerted him to a more dramatic subject: looting at a shoe store about a mile away.

He arrived to find young people pouring out of the store, shoeboxes under their arms. But there was something odd about the scene. A group of men, dressed entirely in black, milled around nearby, like supervisors. One wore a creepy rubber Halloween mask.

The next day, Mr. Quinn took pictures of another store being looted. Again, he noticed something strange. A white man, clad in black, had broken the window with a crowbar, but walked away without taking a thing.

Mr. Quinn began studying footage of looting from around the country and saw the same black outfits and, in some cases, the same masks. He decided to go to a protest dressed like that himself, to figure out what was really going on. He expected to find white supremacists who wanted to help re-elect President Trump by stoking fear of Black people. What he discovered instead were true believers in “insurrectionary anarchism.” . . .

Mr. Quinn discovered a thorny truth about the mayhem that unfolded in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man in Minneapolis. It wasn’t mayhem at all.

While talking heads on television routinely described it as a spontaneous eruption of anger at racial injustice, it was strategically planned, facilitated and advertised on social media by anarchists who believed that their actions advanced the cause of racial justice. In some cities, they were a fringe element, quickly expelled by peaceful organizers. But in Washington, Portland and Seattle they have attracted a “cultlike energy,” Mr. Quinn told me.

Don’t take just Mr. Quinn’s word for it. Take the word of the anarchists themselves, who lay out the strategy in Crimethinc, an anarchist publication: Black-clad figures break windows, set fires, vandalize police cars, then melt back into the crowd of peaceful protesters. When the police respond by brutalizing innocent demonstrators with tear gas, rubber bullets and rough arrests, the public’s disdain for law enforcement grows. It’s Asymmetric Warfare 101.

In response to a question about the issue, Cuomo blamed the federal government, attacked Florida’s state government, claimed that New York “flattened the curve effectively,” and said, “It just never happened in New York, where we needed to say to a nursing home, ‘We need you to take this person even though they’re COVID positive.’ It never happened.”

What a load of amazing bullshit. There is just no other way to describe it. Except maybe “depraved indifference to human life.” It is so gobsmackingly horrific. And then Chris wants to cover big brother’s ass?

"October Surprise"
THE NEW YORKER
The President Tests Positive for the Coronavirus, and a Nation Anticipates Chaos
By David Remnick
October 2, 2020

The “October surprise” is here: the health of Donald Trump and that of his wife and senior advisers, and what it all will mean for the governance of the United States.

President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, have tested positive for the coronavirus, an announcement which is bound to throw the Presidential race into a state of grave uncertainty, if not chaos. The novel coronavirus pandemic has killed more than two hundred thousand Americans and more than a million people worldwide.

On Friday morning, at 12:54 a.m. Eastern time, Trump tweeted, “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for covid-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this together!”

Trump’s physician, Sean Conley, issued a statement saying that Trump and the First Lady were both “well at this time.” Trump had reportedly been hoarse during the day on Thursday, but his circle ascribed that to the rigors of rallies and other public events. “Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering,” Conley wrote, “and I will keep you updated on any future developments.”

From the very beginning of the pandemic, Trump has denied or diminished the seriousness of covid-19, from its initial outbreak in China to its spread to Europe and beyond. In interviews with Bob Woodward, for the journalist’s book “Rage,” Trump admitted that he well understood from advisers how lethal and fast-spreading the disease could be, but in public statements he downplayed the danger, saying repeatedly that the virus would disappear with the summer’s warm weather and that there was little to worry about.

To the despair of the scientific and medical communities, which have uniformly said that the disease can be best contained if people wear protective masks and maintain a social distance, Trump has repeatedly flouted their advice and touted disreputable treatments. As recently as Tuesday’s Presidential debate, in Cleveland, Trump mocked his opponent, Joe Biden, for wearing masks and practicing social distancing. “I don’t wear masks like him,” Trump said sarcastically of Biden, at the debate. “Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking two hundred feet away from him, and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen.”

Covid-19 has proved particularly lethal for older people, especially those who are obese and have preëxisting conditions. Trump is seventy-four and overweight. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, eight out of ten covid-19-related deaths in the United States have been of people sixty-five and older. Trump’s doctors say that he is generally healthy—though, on November 16, 2019, Trump was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and Vice-President Mike Pence was reportedly placed on standby. The reasons for that hospital visit remain obscure.

At one point, the President went out of his way to deny that he had suffered “mini-strokes.”

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

The news that Donald and Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus broke in stages. On Thursday evening, the White House confirmed that Trump’s trusted aide Hope Hicks had contracted the virus, and for hours thereafter cable news networks played a clip of the President’s advisers, and then Trump himself, all unmasked, walking across the South Lawn of the White House, to board Marine One, the President’s helicopter; they were heading to a campaign rally in Minnesota. While that tape played in an eerie loop, commentators and doctors described just how perilous it was for people to be in such close proximity to one another while not wearing masks. At political rallies across the country, and on the Republican National Convention’s climactic night, at which the President delivered his speech accepting the Republican Party’s Presidential nomination, Trump and the great majority of his supporters flouted wearing masks, which he has called a sign of “weakness.”

At a rally in Dayton, last month, Trump said that the virus affects “virtually nobody.”

After the news became public that Hicks had the virus, Trump told the Fox News host Sean Hannity, “When soldiers and law enforcement comes up to her, you know, she wants to treat them great. Not say, ‘Stay away, I can’t get near you.’ It’s a very, very tough disease.”

Hours later, after most people in Washington and on the East Coast had gone to bed, the President issued his tweet about his own diagnosis.

In the coming days, it is likely that commentators will respond to the demands of both decency and a sincere desire to wish anyone with a serious illness well and a quick recovery. They will also assess the perils ahead. The uncertainties range from whether the President’s condition becomes such that, under the Twenty-fifth Amendment, his powers need to be transferred to his Vice-President, Mike Pence, to what will happen in the Presidential race. The Twenty-fifth Amendment, which was ratified in 1967, was invoked most recently by George W. Bush, in 2002 and 2007, when he underwent colonoscopies; he briefly handed over power in those instances to his Vice-President, Dick Cheney.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

In polls, Biden leads Trump nationally and in many battleground states, and in recent weeks the President has responded to his political predicament with incendiary attacks on his opponent, conspiracy theories about the fairness of the ballot, and unsubtle calls to his most dangerous followers—such as the Proud Boys, a far-right militia group—to “stand back and stand by.” Punctuating it all is his chilling refusal to say that he would definitely accept the results of the election and accede to a peaceful transfer of power—“we’ll see what happens” is a common statement.

If both Trump and Pence were to be incapacitated, the rules of succession in the U.S. Constitution dictate that the Speaker of the House is next in line to take over the powers of the Presidency. The Speaker, of course, is a Democrat and Trump’s political adversary, Nancy Pelosi. Trump has repeatedly derided Pelosi, and the relationship between the two has grown so poisonous that they have not had any serious contact in months.

For some time, commentators have routinely discussed what “the October surprise” would be. It was assumed that an autumn drama would entail the President challenging the legitimacy of the ballot, and he has done that repeatedly. At the debate, he retailed false and exaggerated stories about mail-in ballots, all in a seeming effort to sow confusion and cast doubt on a contest that he appears to be losing. But now that “October surprise” is here, and it involves something no less alarming—the state of the President’s health and that of his wife and senior advisers, and what it all will mean for the governance of the United States, a nation that has been suffering multiple crises for so many months. In a speech that he delivered virtually on Thursday night, for the seventy-fifth annual Al Smith dinner, the President said, “I just want to say that the end of the pandemic is in sight, and next year will be one of the greatest years in the history of our country.”

First, the Census Bureau reported that real median household income grew to $68,703 in 2019, an impressive 6.8% increase over 2018. It was the largest one-year increase in median income on record going back to 1967. It was also 45 percent more growth in a single year ($4,379) than Obama/Biden produced in their entire 8 years in office ($3,021).

As was the case throughout Trump’s first three years, the economic benefits were widespread. While the overall growth rate was 6.8%, real median income grew by an even greater 7.9% for Black Americans, 7.1% for Hispanic Americans, and 10.6% for Asian Americans. All record highs as were the new income levels for each of these groups.

As for talking points about how the Trump tax cuts benefitted only the rich, well, they were false. As incomes grew in 2019, the poverty rate plummeted 1.3 percentage points to a 60 year low of 10.5%. This was the largest reduction in poverty in over 50 years. It lifted over 4.1 million people out of poverty, the largest yearly decrease since 1966. Just for comparison purposes, over the Obama/Biden era, the number of people living in poverty increased by 787,000.

Minority groups again experienced the largest improvements. While the overall poverty rate declined 1.3 percentage points, Black poverty fell by 2.0 percentage points, Hispanic poverty fell by 1.8, and Asian poverty fell by 2.8. According to the White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) “the poverty rate fell to an all-time record low for every race and ethnic group in 2019.”

Child poverty decreased to 14.4 percent, the lowest child poverty rate observed since 1973 and down from 18 percent at the end of the Obama/Biden era. The best family welfare program truly is a job.

Let’s take a little broader view. Over the Trump administration’s first three years, between 2016 and 2019, real median household income increased 9.2% while the economy lifted 6.6 million people out of poverty. That’s the largest 3-year poverty reduction for the start of any presidency since the initial drop in 1964 when the War on Poverty began.

That’s the largest 3-year poverty reduction for the start of any presidency since the initial drop in 1964 when the War on Poverty began.

For the first time, the President bearing the conequentions of his actions.

COVID IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Trump announced in a tweet that he and first lady Melania Trump had both tested positive for the coronavirus, though the White House did not immediately clarify whether the president was experiencing any symptoms. On Friday, The New York Times reported that Trump is "showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus, but mild ones," and he reportedly has "what one person described as cold-like symptoms."

Additionally, Bloomberg reports that Trump aides on Wednesday began to sense that he "was feeling poorly" and "seemed exhausted" but thought this was due to his busy campaign schedule. The Times similarly reports that Trump "seemed lethargic" at a Thursday fundraiser and reportedly fell asleep on Air Force One on the way back from his Wednesday rally. NBC News also confirmed that Trump is experiencing mild symptoms, with an official saying that it's "business as usual" for the president.

The White House, according to the Times, is still discussing a treatment plan for Trump, and officials are also reportedly considering whether to have the president deliver an address to the nation or some other kind of statement. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told CNN on Friday that he has spoken to Trump and that the president "sounded good, sounded upbeat." Brendan Morrow

President Trump has COVID-19. It's hard to imagine someone who has asked for it more than him — he's held multiple in-person, indoor rallies, he's attempted to bully states into ending their containment efforts, he mocked Joe Biden for wearing a mask (and largely refused to wear one in public himself), and on and on.

This may be the first time Trump has ever experienced any kind of serious, obvious consequence for his actions. He successfully avoided hundreds of millions of dollars in estate taxes on a massive inheritance from his father. When he had almost squandered the entire thing on failed casino and real estate projects, NBC rescued him with The Apprentice. When the money from that was drying up, he made a ludicrous bid for the presidency, happened to draw an extraordinarily unpopular opponent, and squeaked out a victory on a razor-thin margin. He seems to have the devil's own luck.

hypocrisy is the bedrock of liberalism:

White nationalist Richard Spencer has said he will be backing Democratic candidate Joe Biden in November's election after previously distancing himself from Donald Trump.

Spencer, who was one of the key figureheads of the alt-right movement, tweeted how he is "on Team Joe" on Monday, adding in a self-made campaign slogan, "Liberals are clearly more competent."

In a series of tweets, Spencer further explained his reasoning for backing Biden.

"The MAGA/Alt-Right moment is over. I made mistakes; Trump is an obvious disaster; but mainly the paradigm contained flaws that we now are able to perceive. And it needs to end," Spencer wrote. "So be patient. We'll have another day in the sun. We need to recover and return in a new form."

Trump Skips Scheduled Conference Call

“President Trump skipped out on an afternoon conference call that he was scheduled to join to discuss support for vulnerable seniors amid the coronavirus pandemic,” the Daily Beast reports.

Trump’s Friday schedule was scrubbed of everything but the 12:15 p.m. call after he announced that he and the first lady had tested positive for the virus.”

What Is Known About Trump’s Prognosis
James Hamblin:
“Death is not the most likely outcome, but it is far from unlikely.

"Based on age and sex alone, Trump is at high or very high risk for severe disease. Eight percent of COVID-19 patients ages 65 to 74 die from the disease. Those 75 to 84 are at far higher risk: 18 percent die.

"And men are significantly more likely to die of COVID-19 than women.

"Obesity is also predictive of a severe course. Compared with people in the ‘normal’ BMI range, obese patients are 74 percent more likely to be admitted to an ICU and 48 percent more likely to die.

“The president’s doctors have assured the nation during his time in office that he is in good health and does not have chronic medical conditions. But we know that Trump’s lifestyle does not portend an optimized immune system.

"His sleep schedule is erratic, he does not exercise, and he subsists on fast food and declines vegetables.

"He is prone to angry outbursts.

"These lifestyle factors, taken together, are suggestive of impaired resiliency, and could leave him more susceptible to being laid low by the virus.”

“On a tape secretly recorded in 2018 and released Thursday night by CNN, the first lady complains to then-friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff that the media is bothering her about the Trump administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the US border.”

Said Melania:
“They said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a fucking break. Were they were saying anything when Obama did that?”

CHECK: The Obama administration did not, in fact, pursue a policy of separating children from their parents at the border. And her statements on the tape suggest that, far from secretly disapproving of her husband’s administration, she is actually on board with its aims and angry at those who criticize them. This morning the New York Times reported that Trump is exhibiting ‘coldlike symptoms.’ Two Republicans in close contact with the White House told me that Trump’s symptoms have included a cough and fever. Melania is said to be asymptomatic.

“Meanwhile, Hicks has experienced more pronounced symptoms than the president. Two sources said she has had a high fever and a cough, with one source adding she lost her sense of smell.

"Hicks is said to be frustrated with Trump for taking such a cavalier approach to the virus. She was one of the few West Wing staffers to wear a mask in meetings, WHICH HER COLLEAGUES CHIDED HER FOR…

"Sources told me Hicks is also upset that news coverage has made it appear that she gave Trump the virus, when in fact no one knows where he got it.”

Boeing Announces That Long-Rumored Move of All 787 Production From Everett, Washington State to South Carolina Is In Fact a "Go"

Bye bye, violent anarchist pit of despair Seattle! Bye bye, communist Washington!

Governor Jay Inslee is threatening to take back tax benefits that Boeing enjoys if it carries through with this move -- but that will just make Boeing remove its remaining presence from Washington and to South Carolina.

Keep it up, Communists!

Boeing will relocate all 787 Dreamliner production from Everett to South Carolina, the company confirmed Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the move that would deeply impact the Snohomish County economy and region as a whole.

...

Production of the smaller 787 models will continue in Everett until the program moves to the production rate of six planes a month in 2021.

According to Deal, the Puget Sound team will continue to work on building the 737, 747, 767, and 777 airplane families.

...

Gov. Jay Inslee said in a statement he was ready to work with Boeing to keep production in Washington, although Inslee said the state has asked the company "multiple times" what it needed to keep 787 production in Washington and so far has "heard nothing back."

"This move would signal an allegiance to short-term profits and Wall Street - not quality, safety and a vision for the future of the industry," Inslee said.

Inslee said the move would also force "a hard look at the company's favorable tax treatment."

Maybe you can convince Antifa to expand its wealth-creating operations in Seattle, Jay.

Oh wait, the people you curry favor from are in the destruction business, not the creation business.

So I guess just stick it up your ass, Jay.

Aides to President Trump reportedly believe he'll "face a harsh judgment from voters" after contracting COVID-19.

After Trump announced that he and first lady Melania Trump had both tested positive for COVID-19, The New York Times reported that "strategists in both parties and even senior aides to Mr. Trump said the president would face a harsh judgment from voters for throwing the country into greater uncertainty after one of the most trying years in American history."

The Times goes on to report that advisers to Trump acknowledge that his positive diagnosis will "remind voters of how dismissive" he has been about the coronavirus. "Mr. Trump's recklessness, one adviser admitted, amounted to a political 'disaster,'" the Times writes. Trump has continued to hold large rallies amid the pandemic and rarely worn a mask, and he told journalist Bob Woodward that he wanted to downplay the risks of COVID-19.

Democratic pollster Geoff Garin told the Times that Trump "is now in the position of becoming exhibit No. 1 for the failure of his leadership on coronavirus, and he runs the risk that his supporters will feel misled by his dismissiveness of the virus and the need for precautions," while Republican consultant Rob Stutzman told the Times that "it's hard to imagine this doesn't end his hopes of re-election."

Ultimately, the Times writes that Trump's "personal indifference toward the virus could threaten his own health, the stability of the country and his already dimming hopes for re-election." Brendan Morrow

President Donald Trump is experiencing “mild symptoms” of Covid-19, after he and first lady Melania Trump announced on Friday they tested positive for virus, triggering tumult in the final weeks of the presidential campaign.

Trump's doctor, Sean Conley, said in a letter that the Trumps were “both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence."

On Friday afternoon, the president had a low-grade fever, according to three people familiar with his condition. Conley released a second letter detailing treatment plans and indicating Trump was fatigued.

Trump, who is 74, announced his diagnosis on Twitter early Friday morning, adding he would “begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately."

The president’s condition has worsened on Friday, officials said, though they maintained he remained “in good spirits.” The president is struggling with a low-grade fever, a cough and nasal congestion, among other symptoms, two people familiar with his condition.

LOL When I saw that NY was "in play" for Trump, I didn't even bother to check to see if it was true. I knew it wasn't.

Biden may have pulled the negative ads, but this film is still scheduled to come out later this month:

FILM TITLE:
TOTALLY. UNDER. CONTROL.

read the script below:
___________

REPORTER:
The CDC has identified a case of caronavirus in Washington state. Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?

TRUMP:
No, we’re not at all and it’s uh … gonna be just fine.”
Later, “Whatever happens, we’re totally prepared.”

Caption: This film was made in secrecy over the last five months.

NARRATOR: Three directors interviewed countless scientists, medical professionals, and government officials on the inside, to uncover the truth.

SCIENTIST: “We the scientists knew what to do for the pandemic response. The plan was in front of us. But leadership would not do it.”
It is time to lay our careers on the line. ...And push back!

WOMAN SCIENTIST:
It’s clear the United States did not perform to the best of its ability with the caronavirus.

YOUNG WOMAN (exasperated): What is wrong for us?

NARRATOR: The truth is that political leaders caused avoidable death and destruction. The scientists sounded the alarm every day, but the US government was doing nothing.

TRUMP:
“One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”
“It will be wonderful! It’ll be a gift from heaven!”

SCIENTIST:
Complete bullshit. He has no idea what he’s talking about.

THE LIES. THE SECRETS. THE CONSPIRACIES.

SCIENTIST: I decided to break protocol and alert Americans.

NARRATOR: A peekaboo scientist was removed because he wouldn’t climb on the President’s bandwagon.

YOUNG SCIENTIST:
They started to blame other people and it was … frightening. There was real fear of retribution, and we were watching the number of deaths in the US kick higher and higher.

REPORTER (TO TRUMP):
Do you take responsibility?

TRUMP:
No, I don’t take responsibility at all.

SCIENTIST: We’ve never had a failure like this. The truth is finally coming out. There’s SO much to expose.

During an interview with MSNBC on Friday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she had been tested for the coronavirus and would know her results by the end of the day. In the wake of President Trump's positive test last night, Pelosi is behind Vice President Pence in the line of succession.

"This is tragic. It’s very sad,"

Thom Tillis Tests Positive
8:22 pm EDT
The Washington Post reports that:
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) announced he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Tillis is also a member of the Judiciary Committee and was at the White House event last weekend to unveil the Supreme Court nomination of Amy Coney Barrett.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) tweets:
“We now have two members of the Senate Judiciary Committee who have tested positive for COVID, and there may be more. I wish my colleagues well. It is irresponsible and dangerous to move forward with a hearing, and there is absolutely no good reason to do so.”
