Liberal Logic means Trump more competent?

I have not paid attention to Bill Whittle in quite a while. He's still around and still kicking ass, especially on this particular topic.:

I've followed Bill Whittle on and off for nearly 20 years. I've always been a big fan. I've always appreciated his calm, matter-of-fact demeanor. So this video is quite surprising. I've never seen him angry like this. I used to think he had ice water in his veins, but now I think it's turned to steam:

This is an 11-minute video, but the short version is: George Stephanopoulos has always been a weasel. Here is one of the questions he asked Governor Noem recently:

"Governor Noem, do you have any evidence that it wasn't an honest election? ... Do you have any evidence at all of widespread fraud? I've spoken with Republican secretaries of state in Georgia, in Arizona, I've spoken with Republican officials across the country, they have come up with zero evidence of widespread fraud."
He doesn't realize how meaningless that statement is.

"Mr. Stephanopoulos, you are charged with one count of theft, how do you plead?"

"Not guilty."

"You do realize that we have sworn testimony from a witness who saw you steal a watch?"

"Your honor, I can produce 200 witnesses who didn't see me steal that watch."

That's all Steffy is doing. He thinks that by prefacing his question by bragging about all of the Republicans he supposedly talked to, that it somehow adds weight to his assertion, but it doesn't, it's simply fake news

------------
The gaslighting has gotten so aggressive the past couple of weeks that it wouldn't surprise me if the media started accusing those who observe that Joe Biden isn't actually president of being fringe conspiracy kooks.

Trump campaign drops Arizona lawsuit requesting review of ballots

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Hours after President Trump repeated a baseless report that a voting machine system “deleted 2.7 million Trump votes nationwide,” he was directly contradicted by a group of federal, state and local election officials, who flatly declared Thursday that the election “was the most secure in American history” and that “there is no evidence” any voting systems were compromised.

The rebuke, in a statement by a coordinating council overseeing the voting systems used around the country, never mentioned Mr. Trump by name. But it amounted to a remarkable corrective to a wave of disinformation that Mr. Trump has been pushing across his Twitter feed.

“While we know there are many unfounded claims and opportunities for misinformation about the process of our elections, we can assure you we have the utmost confidence in the security and integrity of our elections, and you should, too,” the officials added in their statement. “When you have questions, turn to elections officials as trusted voices as they administer elections.”

The statement was distributed by the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which is responsible for helping states secure the voting process. Coming directly from one of Mr. Trump’s own cabinet agencies, it further isolated the president in his false claims that widespread fraud cost him the election.

Do you really think that the department homeland security is a deep state conspiracy agency????

On election Night, I tuned into Fox News, just like millions of other Americans. I was elated to see everything breaking for President Trump, and—if I changed channels briefly to CNN or MSNBC—I saw quavering voices and teary eyes, both evocative of Trump’s “surprise” victory in 2016. It was shaping up to be a night to remember, a night of redemption and glory for our country and of vindication for all Trump supporters.

But a funny thing happened on the way to victory. Just as President Trump and his closest advisers were preparing to throw a giant party in celebration of their triumph, Fox News—the supposed voice of American conservatism—injected a note of caution.

Fox called Arizona, where nearly a million votes remained to be counted, for Biden. Given what we now know about how close the result in Arizona will be, this was grossly inappropriate and unprofessional. As it turns out though, it was much more than that: it was also potentially the deciding factor in the election.

Imagine if Fox had not made its despicable, unforgivable call. All signs on election night would have pointed to a Trump victory. Trump unambiguously would have declared victory. Americans would have gone to bed believing, despite media hand wringing and equivocating, that Trump was the victor. The same momentum and sense of inevitability that now attaches itself to Vice President Biden, rightly or wrongly, would have attached itself to President Trump.

In the ensuing days, millions of additional votes would have been counted. Trump’s victory margins would have narrowed, and in the course of time, Biden would have inched ahead in some of the key battlegrounds. Republicans and Trump supporters would have been shocked. They and Trump himself would have cried foul. They would have said that only fraud and malfeasance could erase such massive leads. They would have said, in other words, that Trump was the rightful winner, and only Democratic shenanigans could explain the reversal of fortune.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

All this would have come to pass, and in that sense, the history of the last several days would have been very similar to how things actually transpired, except for one key difference: primed to accept the fact of a Trump win, the American people, and even the media, would have taken Republican claims of fraud and malfeasance far more seriously.

Instead of dismissing such allegations as the ravings of a snubbed, jaded, and frustrated one-term president, every thinking American would have had to ask the question: how can we explain an electoral system that produces such an emphatic result on election night, and then backtracks and reverses itself in the next few days? Isn’t this, at the very least, suspicious, and doesn’t it call for the fullest possible audit of the vote?

That’s what should be America’s attitude even now, given all the unanswered questions about the legitimacy of our electoral process. Instead, the mainstream media, including Fox News, is indulging in a rush to judgment. They are celebrating Biden’s “win” and they are castigating Trump and his supporters for their supposed sour grapes.

All this, in my view, is what Fox News and its “decision desk” have wrought. They have made it far more difficult for President Trump to press his objections and to pursue his valid legal challenges to the election’s outcome. They have made it far easier for Biden and the Democrats to slap themselves on their backs and pretend that the election is over and done with.

What’s worse, Fox News has compounded its sins by joining in the “post-election” plaudits for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democrats. It has even silenced its own commentators who support President Trump’s principled resistance to the precipitous enthronement of a candidate who may have benefited from widespread fraud.

Let’s face it: in 2020, Fox News is stronger than ever, and its ratings have been higher than ever, all thanks to the conservative and patriotic fervor unleashed by President Trump. At the hour of decision, however, Fox chose to bite the hand that feeds it: it betrayed Trump and his supporters.

Fox’s steady shift to the Left in recent years apparently was overlooked and forgiven by conservatives. Surely, its blatant favoritism to Joe Biden on election night, and in the days since, won’t be.

Is Fox News dead? Time will tell, but one thing is for sure: it’s dead to me.

Michigan Judge Denies Conservative Group's Request to Delay Detroit Election Certification The Wall Street journal reported.

By Rebecca Davis O'Brien

SHARE

A state judge in Michigan on Friday denied a bid by a conservative legal group to block the certification of election results and force an independent audit of votes in Detroit, calling the allegations of misconduct and voter fraud “incorrect and not credible.”

The lawsuit, filed earlier this week by the Great Lakes Justice Center, alleged that Detroit and Wayne County elections officials counted ineligible ballots and improperly excluded Republican challengers from the ballot-counting process.

The judge didn’t dismiss the case, but the order closes off one avenue that would stop Michigan from certifying the election. Lawyers with the Great Lakes Justice Center didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

hey alky, remember when you told us the millennials were flocking to the donks?

yeah, you got that one fucking WRONG too. and this has been known for two years now -

A shock poll by Reuters/Ipsos reveals that the Democrats are shedding millennial votes, with support dropping by nine percentage points since 2016. This shift is most pronounced among white millennial men, who now favour Republicans over Democrats by 11 percentage points. In 2016, Democrats led Republicans in this group by 12 percentage points. There has been a staggering swing of 23 percentage points in just two years.

The poll shatters a number of widely held assumptions. Firstly, that young people are naturally drawn to the Democrats. Secondly, that the chaos and incompetence of Donald Trump’s rule are enough to turn voters blue. While two thirds of those polled dislike Trump, that distaste does not translate into either a rejection of the GOP as a whole or into support for the Democrats.

Fo r years, the Democratic Party has operated under one immutable assumption: Long-term demographic trends would give the party something like a permanent majority as the country as a whole grows less white and more urban. President Donald Trump’s reliance on the politics of racial resentment would only quicken the process, solidifying support for Democrats among people of color.

Then came November 3, 2020. And all those assumptions now seem like total nonsense.

The joke is that the GOP is really assembling the multiracial working-class coalition that the left has always dreamed of,” says David Shor, a Democratic polling and data expert who developed the Obama 2012 campaign’s internal election-forecasting system.

Trump, whose approval rating was historically low throughout his tenure as president, increased his support among Black men and Hispanic voters in key swing states, while maintaining his hold on white non-college educated voters. Democrats’ House majority shrank, thanks in part to losses in the suburbs, and split-ticket voting all but disappeared, dooming Democratic Senate candidates in rural, Trump-friendly states. And even while President-Elect Joe Biden is on track to win a higher share of the national popular vote than anyone challenging an incumbent president since Franklin D. Roosevelt, the future for Democrats now looks, well, bleak.

“We have an election system that makes it basically impossible for Democrats’ current coalition to ever wield legislative power,” says Shor. “We are legitimately in a position from here on out where we would need to get 54 percent of the popular vote — which we did not even accomplish this time — for multiple cycles in a row, for us to be in a position to really pass laws.”

what i referenced WAS NOT an exit poll, stupid...

MANCHESTER, N.H. (Reuters) - Enthusiasm for the Democratic Party is waning among millennials as its candidates head into the crucial midterm congressional elections, according to the Reuters/Ipsos national opinion poll.

The online survey of more than 16,000 registered voters ages 18 to 34 shows their support for Democrats over Republicans for Congress slipped by about 9 percentage points over the past two years, to 46 percent overall. And they increasingly say the Republican Party is a better steward of the economy.

Although nearly two of three young voters polled said they do not like Republican President Donald Trump, their distaste for him does not necessarily extend to all Republicans or translate directly into votes for Democratic congressional candidates.

That presents a potential problem for Democrats who have come to count on millennials as a core constituency - and will need all the loyalty they can get to achieve a net gain of 23 seats to capture control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November.

Theodore Olson, the lawyer who argued George W. Bush's case to the Supreme Court in the 2000 election, said he feels that the 2020 election is over and the nation will have a new president when Democrat Joe Biden is inaugurated.

“The Framers, they separated the powers because they knew that individuals would be flawed. They put in lots of checks, and we just experienced one, the election,” Olson said during a panel hosted by the Federalist Society, according to the National Law Journal.

“To the extent that the citizens of this country did not like the manner in which President Trump spoke, or the manner in which he threatened people or the manner in which he executed the laws, they exercised their franchise. And we have — I do believe the election is over — we do have a new president,” Olson said.

Multiple news outlets called the presidential race in Biden’s favor on Saturday, but Trump has refused to concede the race as his campaign has launched a series of lawsuits in several states.

Trump and his allies have made unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud, but Biden leads by tens of thousands of votes in some key states.

On Thursday evening, the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Council in a joint statement said the election was the most secure in American history.

"Right now, across the country, election officials are reviewing and double checking the entire election process prior to finalizing the result,” the groups said.

“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised,” the officials emphasized.

Emily Murphy, a Trump appointee who oversees the General Services Administration, has refused to acknowledge Biden as president-elect, preventing the team from beginning multiple aspects of the transition.

Murphy’s acknowledgement of Biden as president-elect gives the team access to millions of federal funding for salaries, consultants and travel as well as the ability to meet with current government officials and to be briefed on intelligence.
