Time travel now available in Pennsylvania!

Tens of Thousands of Pennsylvania Ballots Returned Earlier Than Sent Date: Researcher
More than 20,000 absentee ballots in Pennsylvania have impossible return dates and another more than 80,000 have return dates that raise questions, according to a researcher’s analysis of the state’s voter database.
Over 51,000 ballots were marked as returned just a day after they were sent out—an extraordinary speed, given U.S. Postal Service (USPS) delivery times, while nearly 35,000 were returned on the same day they were mailed out. Another more than 23,000 have a return date earlier than the sent date. More than 9,000 have no sent date.

My first gut instinct is to suggest that some of these were not returned via mail, but rather received in the mail, filled out, and then dropped off in person. Pennsylvania also allowed for early voting (as in walk in, fill out your ballot and leave), which "could" explain those with no dates. However those would not have required any sort of mailing label or USP date stamp, and should have technically been reported as in person early voting, rather than mail in voting.

That being said, it is literally impossible for you to drop something in the USPS mail and have it delivered the same day. At best, it might get there the next day which would technically allow someone to get it delivered in the mail, fill it out and drive out in the same day to drop it off.

However, the current average pace for the Pennsylvania postal delivery is 2.5 days for first class mail, making it highly unlikely that people would be receiving ballots the very next day. So to recap:

  • 23,000 ballots were returned on a date prior to when they were mailed
  • 35,000 were returned the same day that they were mailed
  • 51,000 ballots were returned the day after they were mailed
  • 43,000 ballots were returned the second day after they were mailed

The first two categories (or 58,000) are virtually impossible. The third (51,000) is nearly impossible, while another 43,000 ballots seems awful questionable. Some of this depends on whether or not they kept track of whether mail in ballots had actual post stamps, or how they were processed (date wise) if they were dropped off in person. One might suggest this is somehow tracked?

Perhaps it's all just sloppy paperwork or some other excuse where Democrats in charge of elections simply claim complete and total incompetence and massive stupidity rather than admit any malfeasance or corruption. They seem to get away with that a lot.  But either way... this sort of incompetence or corruption has no place in our elections.

Take all this and more to the courts, Ch, and make your case, if you can.
__________

To encourage yourself, you may notice that RealClearPolitics does not regard the election as over.

According to RCP, the presidential election is now frozen at

Biden/Harris 50.8% (259 electoral votes)
Trump/Pence 47.5% (217 electoral votes)

Among the toss up states, only Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nevada have been decisively called for Biden.

That means that Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina are still not decided.

Take heart. Trump still has a chance, then.

So get those court cases settled, and those counts finally called, and admit who is already, obviously, President of the USA.

WHOOPS. Of course I meant to say Wisconsin, not Iowa, is among those that have been called for Biden.

Last time I checked Reverend...

A blogger from Minnesota really doesn't file a lot of election lawsuits. As it stands, there are already plenty of lawsuits in several states alleging all sorts of indiscretions and inconsistencies.

We'll see how all of those go. I tend to believe that "election challenges" are not generally going to help, unless you can prove substantially that it changes the outcome. So that is not where the focus will lie.

Where the focus may lie is in the various investigations going on at the Justice level. This is where you might find some tangible results coming out. Not in changing the election, but in exposing where there was fraud or tampering (even if it's not to a degree that changes the election).

This is where we "generally" sort of step back with the see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil sort of attitude. If we cannot "change the results" then we just let it go. I have a feeling that will not be the case this time. If there is election fraud or election tampering going on and there is real evidence... then that will be pursued. This is one of the Trump qualities that you either love or hate. He could just "ride into the sunset" or he can go down kicking and screaming until the bitter end... doing everything he can do to

Right now... William Barr will be Attorney General for no less than the next 70 days. If he feels there is work to still be done (given his job ends)... then he will appoint a special counsel who would be given the same sort of freedom and authority as Robert Mueller had to investigate the 2016 election.

A person who will not be undercut by a new AG or the Biden administration... just as Mueller was not undercut by anyone from the Trump administration.

Oh... and if the GOP keeps the Senate... you can rest assured that no "new" AG will be confirmed until that Special Counsel is complete!

From the Fake news New York times article.

In an April 2017 email to the staff obtained by The New York Times, the paper’s leadership envisioned that the Facebook strategy could help turn The Epoch Times into “the world’s largest and most authoritative media.” It could also introduce millions of people to the teachings of Falun Gong, fulfilling the group’s mission of “saving sentient beings.”

Today, The Epoch Times and its affiliates are a force in right-wing media, with tens of millions of social media followers spread across dozens of pages and an online audience that rivals those of The Daily Caller and Breitbart News, and with a similar willingness to feed the online fever swamps of the far right.

It also has growing influence in Mr. Trump’s inner circle. The president and his family have shared articles from the paper on social media, and Trump administration officials have sat for interviews with its reporters. In August, a reporter from The Epoch Times asked a question at a White House press briefing.

It is a remarkable success story for Falun Gong, which has long struggled to establish its bona fides against Beijing’s efforts to demonize it as an “evil cult,” partly because its strident accounts of persecution in China can sometimes be difficult to substantiate or veer into exaggeration. In 2006, an Epoch Times reporter disrupted a White House visit by the Chinese president by shouting, “Evil people will die early.”

Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s former chief strategist and a former chairman of Breitbart, said in an interview in July that The Epoch Times’s fast growth had impressed him.

“They’ll be the top conservative news site in two years,” said Mr. Bannon, who was arrested on fraud charges in August. “They punch way above their weight, they have the readers, and they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with.”

Image

But the organization and its affiliates have grown, in part, by relying on sketchy social media tactics, pushing dangerous conspiracy theories and downplaying their connection to Falun Gong, an investigation by The Times has found. The investigation included interviews with more than a dozen former Epoch Times employees, as well as internal documents and tax filings. Many of these people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they feared retaliation, or still had family in Falun Gong.

Trump’s Election Defiance Consumes GOP
10:15 am

Politico:
“It will be nearly impossible for Republicans to alter the outcome or prevent Biden from taking office. Counting all the states where he currently leads in voting, Biden has 306 electoral votes. In Michigan, Biden’s lead at the moment is more than 10 times larger than Trump’s winning margin was there in 2016. To date, Trump’s campaign has yet to produce evidence IN ANY STATE state of the kind of widespread ballot fraud the president alleges.

“Yet one week after the election, there is no sign any of that is sinking in. Instead, the controversy seems to be metastasizing within GOP circles, as the party unites behind an idea that threatens to distract Washington and state capitals for weeks amid an ongoing pandemic and a looming transition of government.”
__________

The GOP is doing lasting damage to America's reputation for truthfulness and following democratic principles in politics.

The only solution will be to remove Trump from the White House according to the will of a majority of the American people as clearly expressed in this election.

Pennsylvania Invites World-Renowned Election Auditor Hilaaniti Clintraja To Count The Votes

PHILADELPHIA, PA—After many days of secretly counting mail-in ballots, Pennsylvania has finally opted to open the doors of the counting center and bring in highly respected election auditors to count the vote. To set everyone's mind at ease and restore trust in free and fair elections, Pennsylvania has invited world-famous election auditor Hilaaniti Clintraja to audit all the ballots.

"We are so excited to have the honorable Clintraja here with us," said Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar. "Her reputation precedes her due to this very nice resume she sent us. According to this resume, she is the most famous and respected ballot counter in all the world. Wow! That's enough for me!"

According to sources, Clintraja has generously offered to perform an audit for free, asking only for a million-dollar donation to The Clinton Foundation, which is a universally beloved philanthropic organization.

In a statement, Biden thanked Hilaaniti Clintraja for her service to the country. "Let me just say -- I'm really grateful for that old Indian gal in Pennsylvania making sure everything is done by the books. It's a real nice thing she's doing, taking time off from stocking the department store shelves to help with the election. Maybe I'll let her be Secretary of State!"

Election officials claim that Clintraja has promised to start today after she finishes her morning bottle of wine.

"I'm Joe Biden and I approve this election theft. In fact, I owe my President-elect status to it.":

PHILADELPHIA – United States Attorney William M. McSwain announced today that Domenick J. DeMuro, 73, of Philadelphia, PA, a former Judge of Elections for the 39th Ward, 36th Division in South Philadelphia, has been charged and has pled guilty to a two-count Information charging (1) conspiracy to deprive Philadelphia voters of their civil rights by fraudulently stuffing the ballot boxes for specific Democratic candidates in the 2014, 2015, and 2016 primary elections, and (2) a violation of the Travel Act, which forbids the use of any facility in interstate commerce (here, a cell phone) with the intent to promote certain illegal activity (here, bribery). U.S. Attorney McSwain’s video statement providing additional details about this case is available on the Office website here: https://www.justice.gov/usao-edpa/video/united-states-attorney-william-m-mcswain-announces-guilty-plea-former-philadelphia.

[...]

During his guilty plea hearing, DeMuro admitted that an unnamed political consultant gave DeMuro directions and paid him money to illegally add votes for certain Democratic candidates. These candidates were individuals running for judicial office whose campaigns had hired the consultant, as well as other candidates for various federal, state, and local elective offices who were preferred by this consultant for a variety of reasons.

The political consultant would solicit monetary payments from his clients in the form of cash or checks as “consulting fees,” and then use portions of these funds to pay Election Board Officials, including DeMuro, in return for tampering with the election results. After receiving payments ranging from between $300 to $5,000 per election from the consultant, DeMuro would add fraudulent votes on the voting machine – also known as “ringing up” votes – for the consultant’s clients and preferred candidates, thereby diluting and distorting the ballots cast by actual voters. DeMuro would add these fraudulent votes to the totals during Election Day, and then would later falsely certify that the voting machine results were accurate.

“DeMuro fraudulently stuffed the ballot box by literally standing in a voting booth and voting over and over, as fast as he could, while he thought the coast was clear. This is utterly reprehensible conduct. The charges announced today do not erase what he did, but they do ensure that he is held to account for those actions,” said U.S. Attorney McSwain. “Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. If even one vote is fraudulently rung up, the integrity of that election is compromised. I want the public to know that this investigation is active and ongoing, and my Office is taking every possible step that we can to ensure the integrity of the upcoming primary and general elections in the nine counties of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.”

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia election officials have announced an audit of presidential election results that will trigger a full hand recount.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said at a news conference Wednesday that his office wants the process to begin by the end of the week and he expects it to take until Nov. 20, which is the certification deadline.

President-elect Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump by about 14,000 votes out of nearly 5 million votes counted in the state. Nearly all ballots have been counted, though counties have until Friday to certify their results.

For the hand recount, election officers will work with the paper ballots in batches, dividing them into piles for each candidate. Then they will run the piles through machines to count the number of ballots for each candidate. The scanners will not read the data on the ballots.

After results from the hand recount are certified, the losing campaign can then request another recount, which will be performed by machine, Raffensperger said.

There is no mandatory recount law in Georgia, but state law provides that option to a trailing candidate if the margin is less than 0.5 percentage points. Biden’s lead stood at 0.28 percentage points as of Wednesday morning.

Late Monday the Wrongest Woman on Television baldly declared on Twitter, in the course of arguing (correctly) that recounts are extremely unlikely to change the outcome of last week’s presidential election, that “the reason there’s a thing called @FiveThirtyEight is because 538 was the margin in FL when the Republican SCOTUS reversed the 2000 election during a recount, making Dubya the president.”

We are all Ukrainians now

U.S. Rejected Ukraine ’04 Election Over Absentee Ballots, Opponent Observer Restrictions, And Wild Turnout Numbers

Illegal Use of Absentee Ballots: According to the respected NGO “Committee of Voters of Ukraine” (CVU), massive electoral fraud was committed through the illegal use of absentee voter certificates. For example, people were caught in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy oblasts with their pockets stuffed with blank absentee ballots that they were using to vote at multiple polling stations.

Opposition Observers Ejected: Observers from Our Ukraine and other opposition groups were expelled from most polling stations in eastern Ukraine on Election Day. For example, in Territorial Election Commission (TEC) district number 42 in Donetsk oblast, Our Ukraine observers were kicked out of all but a few polling stations.

North Korean-Style Turnout in the East: Turnout in the pro-Yanukovych eastern oblasts was unnaturally high. In several electoral districts, turnout for the run-off round increased by 30 to 40 percent over the first round. In Luhansk oblast, the reported turnout rate hit nearly 96 percent — a number that, to quote the OSCE, even Stalinist North Korea would envy. A similar turnout rate was reported in Donetsk oblast, where 98 percent of the votes went to hometown candidate Prime Minister Yanukovych.

Mobile Ballot Box Fraud: In the second round of the election, the number of voters who supposedly cast ballots at home using mobile ballot boxes was double that of the first round. Much of this voting occurred without observers being present and was massively fraudulent. In Mykolayiv oblast, for example, nearly 35 percent of the oblast’s voters purportedly cast their ballots “at home.”

Computer Data Allegedly Altered To Favor Yanukovych: There were credible reports showing that that Yanukovych supporters gained illegal access to the Central Election Commission’s computer system and illegally altered vote tabulation data being transmitted by TECs to the CEC.

Reports of Opposition Fraud: Yanykovych’s supporters allege that Yushchenko’s supporters stuffed ballot boxes in western Ukraine. But the reports and evidence of pro-Yanukovych fraud greatly outweighed those indicated for Yushchenko.

here we go. welcome to Slow Joe's America:

Florida’s governor has drafted “anti-mob” legislation to expand already controversial Stand Your Ground laws — to allow people to shoot looters, according to a report.

A draft of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ proposed bill expands the list of “forcible felonies” under Florida’s self-defense law to include criminal mischief causing “interruption or impairment” of a business, according to the Miami Herald, which obtained a copy through a records request.

It also specifically allows force against those looting, which the draft defines as burglary within 500 feet of a “violent or disorderly assembly.”

DeSantis also wants to make it a third-degree felony to block traffic during a protest — and offer immunity to drivers who accidentally kill or injure protesters who do so, according to the Herald.

Just 10,000 Pennsylvania Votes Received After Nov. 3
12:37 pm
“Pennsylvania’s chief election officer announced on Tuesday that around 10,000 ballots were received between the close of polls on Election Day and the evening of Nov. 6 — a number far too small to undermine President-elect Joe Biden’s margin of victory in a critical battleground state,” Politico reports.

Georgia To Recount All Votes By Hand
12:34 pm
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) ordered all of the state’s 159 counties to conduct a hand recount and audit of all votes cast in the presidential race, an extraordinary step in an election with unprecedented high turnout, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Joe Biden leads by about 14,000 votes in the traditionally red state.

Trump Lawyer Admits No Fraud In Pennsylvania
12:32 pm
A lawyer for President Trump told a judge that he was not alleging voter fraud or improper influence in Pennsylvania.

Biden Won with Weakest Coattails In 60 Years
12:25 pm
James Hohmann: “Biden received more votes – 77.3 million – than any other candidate for public office in American history. With the highest levels of turnout since 1900, he beat Trump by more than 5 million votes nationwide, and that number is expected to grow as California continues to count its ballots. Biden has garnered a higher percentage of the popular vote – 50.8 percent – than any challenger to an incumbent since Franklin Roosevelt defeated President Herbert Hoover in 1932, narrowly edging out Ronald Reagan’s share of the vote in 1980 when he beat Jimmy Carter.

“But Biden also appears to have won the presidency with the weakest House coattails of any president since John F. Kennedy in 1960.”

Pompeo Respects Elections Abroad, Not at Home
12:23 pm
“After years of preaching that world leaders must swiftly abide the verdicts of voters, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has settled on the opposite message at home,” NBC News reports.

“Pompeo has called for a peaceful transition of power and free and fair elections in countless foreign countries, including just this week in Myanmar. Yet the secretary is now also suggesting President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the U.S. election could be reversed through legal action to award President Donald Trump another four years.”

FAR MORE HONEST THAN POMPEO,
Evangelical Leader Calls Biden President-elect
12:21 pm
One of President Trump’s top evangelical Christian allies, Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress, broke ranks Wednesday with the president’s refusal to conceded defeat, calling Joe Biden the president-elect,
the Dallas Morning News reports.

While he said it’s “a bitter pill, it’s reality and Christians must not be hypocrites, but rather support and pray for Joe Biden as new president.”

You refused to bet on Trump winning in Minnesota!

Your record is terrible.

You said the silent majority would elect the lame duck President!

Who are you talking to Roger?

Certainly not me...

I never called either Minnesota or the election for Trump and never once stated that any "silent majorities" would do anything. In fact, I made it quite clear from the very start that Trump was a fairly significant underdog.

What I WAS correct about was that the polling was off (again). I suggested on election day that my personal election spreadsheet (which was over three points closer than 538 and two points closer to RCP) was probably still high at 5.1% for Biden.

So in fact, my own projection of the popular vote (the only projection I made) was a full three points closer than Nate Silver's 538 projection.

Silver was off by over 5 percent...

I was off by less than 2 percent...

So I think I will continue to stand by "my" track record, Mr Kerry in a landslide!

You want unity? That’s fair. We will give you unity:

1. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and deny the legitimacy of the 2020 election for the next four years.

2. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and investigate the Biden family’s every business dealing at home and abroad.

3. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and question Biden’s mental fitness to hold office.

4. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and question Biden’s physical fitness to hold office.

5. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and blame Biden for every person who dies from the coronavirus.

6. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and blame Biden personally for every Black person who is shot anywhere in America.

7. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and never stop publicizing that Biden has been accused of grabbing a woman’s crotch against her will.

8. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and emphasize that, any time a woman makes a claim of sexual harassment against Biden, she must be believed.

9. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and continue publicizing that Kamala Harris, like Evita Perón, slept her way into public life.

10. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and remind people that, no less than Stormy Daniels, Kamala Harris was a public figure’s mistress.

11. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and accuse Biden of treason for consorting with enemies like the wife of the Moscow mayor, who gave the Bidens $3.5 million, the Chinese who put the Bidens on their payroll, and the Ukrainians of Burisma.

12. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and investigate the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, and if and when those photos can be released, they will be distributed to the tune of Maurice Chevalier’s “Thank Heaven for Little Girls.”

13. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and demand that Biden condemn racism, anti-Semitism, and misogyny every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every month of every year.

wrong, pederast.

i was counting on a legal majority to re-elect Trump.

the left's 'by any means necessary' crew had other ideas.

so now we find ourselves in the post-constitutional phase of the republic.

1: I believe a country should take care of its weakest members. A country cannot call itself civilized when its children, disabled, sick, and elderly are neglected. Period.

2. I believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Somehow that's interpreted as "I believe Obamacare is the end-all, be-all." This is not the case. I'm fully aware that the Affordable Care Act has problems, that a national healthcare system would require everyone to chip in, and that it's impossible to create one that is devoid of flaws, but I have yet to hear an argument against it that makes "let people die because they can't afford healthcare" a better alternative. I believe healthcare should be far cheaper than it is, and that everyone should have access to it. And no, I'm not opposed to paying higher taxes in the name of making that happen. (Although with Universal Healthcare, taxes would increase, but health insurance premiums would all but disappear.)

3. I believe education should be affordable and accessible to everyone. It doesn't necessarily have to be free (though it works in other countries so I'm mystified as to why it can't work in the US), but at the end of the day, there is no excuse for students graduating college saddled with five- or six-figure debt.

4. I don't believe your money should be taken from you and given to people who don't want to work. I have literally never encountered anyone who believes this. Ever. I just have a massive moral problem with a society where a handful of people can possess the majority of the wealth while there are people literally starving to death, freezing to death, or dying because they can't afford to go to the doctor. Fair wages, lower housing costs, universal healthcare, affordable education, and the wealthy actually paying their share would go a long way toward alleviating this. Somehow believing that makes me a communist.

5. I don't throw around "I'm willing to pay higher taxes" lightly. If I'm suggesting something that involves paying more, well, it's because I'm fine with paying my share as long as it's actually going to something besides lining corporate pockets or bombing other countries while Americans die without healthcare.

6. I believe companies should be required to pay their employees a decent, livable wage. Somehow this is always interpreted as me wanting burger flippers to be able to afford a penthouse apartment and a Mercedes. What it actually means is that no one should have to work three full-time jobs just to keep their head above water. Restaurant servers should not have to rely on tips, multi billion-dollar companies should not have employees on food stamps, workers shouldn't have to work themselves into the ground just to barely make ends meet, and minimum wage should be enough for someone to work 40 hours and live.

7. I am not anti-Christian. I have no desire to stop Christians from being Christians, to close churches, to ban the Bible, to forbid prayer in school, etc. (BTW, prayer in school is NOT illegal; *compulsory* prayer in school is - and should be - illegal). All I ask is that Christians recognize everyone's right to live according to their beliefs. When I get pissed off that a politician is trying to legislate Scripture into law, I'm not "offended by Christianity" -- I'm offended that "Christian" legislators are trying to force people to live by their religion's rules. You know how you get really upset at the thought of Muslims imposing Sharia law on you? That's how I feel about Christians trying to impose biblical law on others. Be a Christian. Do your thing. Just don't force it on anyone else.

8. I don't believe LGBT people should have more rights than everyone else. I just believe they should have the *same* rights as everyone else.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

9. I don't believe illegal immigrants should come to America and have the world at their feet, especially since THIS ISN'T WHAT THEY DO (spoiler: undocumented immigrants are ineligible for those programs they're supposed to be abusing, and if they're "stealing" your job it's because your employer is hiring illegally). I'm not opposed to deporting people who are here illegally, but I believe there are far more humane ways to handle undocumented immigration than our current practices (i.e., detaining children, splitting up families, ending DACA {Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals}, etc).

10. I don't believe the government should regulate everything. But since greed is such a driving force in our country, we NEED regulations to prevent cut corners, environmental destruction, tainted food/water, unsafe materials in consumable goods or medical equipment, etc. It's not that I want the government's hands in everything -- I just don't trust greedy people or corporations trying to make money to ensure that their products/practices/etc. are actually SAFE. Is the government devoid of corruption? Of course not. But with those regulations in place, consumers have recourse if they're harmed and companies are liable for medical bills, environmental cleanup, etc. Just kind of seems like common sense when the alternative to government regulation is letting companies bring their bottom line into the safety equation.

11. I believe our current administration is Fascist. Not because I dislike them or because I can’t get over an election, but because I've spent too many years reading and learning about the Third Reich to miss the similarities. Not because any administration I dislike must be Nazis, but because things are actually mirroring Authoritarian and Fascist regimes of the past.

12. I believe the systemic racism and misogyny in our society is much worse than many people think, and desperately needs to be addressed. Which means those with privilege -- white, straight, male, economic, etc. -- need to start listening, even if you don't like what you're hearing, so we can start dismantling everything that's causing people to be marginalized.

13. I am not interested in coming after American's blessed guns, nor is anyone serving in government. What I am interested in is sensible policies, including background checks, that just MIGHT save one person’s life, perhaps a toddler’s life, by the hand of someone who should not have a gun.

14. I believe in so-called political correctness. I prefer to think it’s social politeness. If I call you Chuck and you say you prefer to be called Charles, I’ll call you Charles. It’s the polite thing to do. Not because everyone is a delicate snowflake, but because as Maya Angelou put it, when we know better, we do better. When someone tells you that a term or phrase is more accurate/less hurtful than the one you're using, you now know better. So why not do better? How does it hurt you to NOT hurt another person?

15. I believe in funding sustainable energy, including offering education to people currently working in coal or oil so they can change jobs. There are too many sustainable options available for us to continue with coal and oil. Sorry, billionaires. Maybe try investing in something else.

16. I believe that women should not be treated as a separate class of human. They should be paid the same as men who do the same work, should have the same rights as men and should be free from abuse. Why on earth shouldn’t they be?

17: Roe v Wade should be sustained by the Supreme Court. The state should not assume control over her body when the egg is fertilized.

Trump Voters Don’t See Biden as Legitimate

A new Economist/YouGov poll of those who voted for Donald Trump found 86 percent said Joe Biden hadn’t legitimately won the election.

Asked whether Trump should concede, the numbers were similar: 8-in-10 Trump voters said he shouldn’t.

No surprise: Of those who believed his lies before they voted for him, nearly 90% still believe his lies.

By now, it’s well-established that most of the arguments put forward by President Trump’s reelection campaign in its challenge of the results of the 2020 election are baseless and highly speculative. Even Trump allies, as The Washington Post reported late Tuesday, acknowledge the apparent futility of the effort. Others have reasoned that there’s no harm in going through the motions, with one anonymous GOP official asking, “What’s the downside for humoring him” for a little while?
Follow the latest on Election 2020
But as scenes in courtrooms nationwide in recent days have shown, there is indeed a downside for those tasked with pursuing these claims. Repeatedly now, they have been rebuked by judges for how thin their arguments have been.
The most famous scene came in Pennsylvania, where a Trump lawyer strained to avoid acknowledging that their people were, in fact, allowed to observe the vote-counting process in Philadelphia:

At the city’s federal courthouse on Thursday evening, attorneys for Trump asked a judge to issue an emergency order to stop the count, alleging that all Republican observers had been barred.
Under sharp questioning from Judge Paul S. Diamond, however, they conceded that Trump in fact had “a nonzero number of people in the room,” leaving Diamond audibly exasperated.
“I’m sorry, then what’s your problem?” asked Diamond, who was appointed to the federal bench by President George W. Bush. Denying Trump’s request, Diamond struck a deal for 60 observers from each party to be allowed inside.
At one point on Friday afternoon, 12 Republican observers and five Democrats were watching the count, according to a ballot counter who was working.

a election department: Sharpies can be used on ballots
The video in just a few hours had received more than 1.3 million views.

Hopkins' allegations, though, were already beginning to fall apart before news broke that he had recanted his statement.

The Erie Times-News on Tuesday morning reviewed 129 mail-in ballot envelopes that were postmarked Nov. 3 but arrived at the Erie County Board of Elections after Election Day.

Of those 129 ballots, only two postmarked Nov. 3 were processed through the Erie facility, the Times-News discovered in its review, which was conducted in the presence of Erie County Board of Elections Chairman Carl Anderson and others.

Of those 129 ballots, only two postmarked Nov. 3 were processed through the Erie facility, the Times-News discovered in its review, which was conducted in the presence of Erie County Board of Elections Chairman Carl Anderson and others.

A bulk of the ballots were processed at various locations across the state and the country, from places as far west as Tacoma, Washington, and as far south as Florida. Most were postmarked in Pittsburgh. The voters are registered in Erie County but likely are out of the area for work, college, or travel, Anderson said.

The courts have ordered that all late-arriving mail-in ballots be segregated. On Monday, they also ordered that the ballots not be included in any Pennsylvania county's overall tally. The Erie County Board of Elections will remove those ballots from its count either Tuesday or in the coming days.

Vote totals are unofficial. Though counties were supposed to finalize their vote totals by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Pennsylvania's Deputy Secretary for Elections and Commissions Jonathan Marks extended the counting to accommodate elections observers who are monitoring the process. Erie County completed its final, unofficial count Tuesday evening.

Pompeo: Despite election results showing Biden win, Pompeo said he expects 'transition to a second Trump administration'

The allegations

The allegation that employees at the Erie Postal Service facility were "back-dating" mail-in ballots that arrived after Election Day was made by Hopkins, 32, last week. The claims came as Trump and his supporters have filed a slew of lawsuits and made numerous public, but yet-to-be-proved claims of voter fraud in Pennsylvania and other states.

Hopkins initially told the conservative activist group Project Veritas that he and other carriers were instructed by Postmaster Robert Weisenbach to bring him all ballots that they picked up after Election Day.
