Evidence suggests twice as many deaths would be saved if we vaccinate the elderly and medically vulnerable first...

But social justice warriors have something else in mind?

Now Harald Schmidt later backtracked these comments a bit, but it's clear that based on the tone and wording, that he believes that the lives of older white people are simply not as important as the lives of younger minorities. Even the playing field as it where?

I have to wonder if Mr Schmidt believed that his comments would ushered in all sorts of accolades and support from other social justice warriors. But I think deciding that certain people should die, in order to protect less vulnerable (because of race) just goes a bit too far.

But yet, the CDC is recommending that essential workers be vaccinated first, in spite of evidence that such a plan will reduce deaths through the first phase by approximately 10-12 percent. Meanwhile, a  vaccination plan that would vaccinate the elderly and medically vulnerable first, would reduce deaths by over 25%.

I wonder how well this recommendations follows the Hippocratic Oath taken by every physician when they enter the practice. Isn't the first idea of being the doctor about saving lives, or in this case saving the most lives? The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Ethics 101.

well cali, since i've been assuming a total lack of accuracy and integrity in the name of control anyway, i'll also assume the CDC has pre-emptively booked those two deaths.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Breaking with President Donald Trump, outgoing Attorney General William Barr said Monday he saw “no reason” to appoint a special counsel to look into the president’s claims of election fraud or the tax investigation into the son of President-elect Joe Biden.

In his final press conference, Barr also broke with Trump in reinforcing that federal officials believe Russia was behind the cyberespionage operation targeting the U.S. government. Trump had suggested without evidence that China could be responsible.

Barr said the investigation into Hunter Biden's financial dealings was “being handled responsibly and professionally.”

“I have not seen a reason to appoint a special counsel and I have no plan to do so before I leave,” he said.

Barr also told The Associated Press in a previous interview that he had seen no evidence of widespread voting fraud, despite Trump's claims to the contrary. Trump has continued to push baseless claims even after the Electoral College formalized Biden's victory on Dec. 14.

Well Rat...

Funny thing that I have never suggested that there should be a "special counsel" appointed to review election anomalies, since a special counsel is specifically a manner to appoint someone to head up a "criminal" investigation.

In fact, I have repeatedly stated that it would be unlikely that any sort of investigation will uncover a criminal plot... and I have never once stated that I felt that any of these lawsuits would end up turning over any of the results.

Apparently certain old drunken nursing home fools seem to think that a Attorney General not appointing a Special Counsel for something that isn't even a criminal investigation...

Somehow "disproves" the math and statistical anomalies that exist in this election. Try as the old drunken fool may try, and he will never be able to disprove math and statistics. For that, he would have to understand them.

He apparently doesn't even understand the difference between statistics and criminal activity. But then again, he is a drunken old nursing home dementia patient!

Barr Sees No Basis for Special Counsel on Election Fraud
11:36 am
“Outgoing Attorney General William Barr said Monday he saw no basis for the federal government seizing voting machines and that he did not intend to appoint a special counsel to investigate allegations of voter fraud — again breaking with President Trump as the commander in chief entertains increasingly desperate measures to overturn the election,” the Washington Post reports.

Barr said that while he was “sure there was fraud in this election,” he had not seen evidence that it was so “systemic or broad-based” that it would change the result.

Said Barr: “If I thought a special counsel at this stage was the right tool and was appropriate, I would name one, but I haven’t, and I’m not going to.”

Republicans Try to Avoid Floor Fight Over Election College
10:30 am
“National Republicans are desperate to avoid a floor fight in Congress over the certification of the Electoral College vote next month, believing it would be horrible politics to continue waging what most recognize to be a hopeless battle to overturn the outcome of the election,” The Hill reports.

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has intervened, asking his members not to join Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) or any other House members looking to object to the results on Jan. 6, when Congress meets to certify the Electoral College count.”

Have you ever wondered why liberals get so mad about anyone questioning these results? You would think that the Attorney General stating that there would be no special counsel on "election fraud" would piss off Conservatives...

But for some reason, the only ones getting their panties in a bunch are the liberals. It's almost as if there is a "blinding rage" that allows them to see nothing past their own anger.

Joe Biden won (even as a large portion of the country will question the results). You would think that would make Roger, the Reverend, and others happy.

But they seem "just" as upset as they ever have been and most conservatives seem to be just going about their businesses. Sure, we occasionally point out a massive statistical anomaly along with other circumstantial reasons why fraud is a strong possibility. But unlike liberals who spent three years trying to prove "Russian collusion" we sort of accept the fact that even if there was massive cheating, that it's literally impossible to catch after the fact, and even more impossible to correct.

Once the 2.6 million mail in ballots in Pennsylvania gave slow Joe a 2 million to 600K advantage (well beyond any statistical probability or even margin of error) - those were the ballots that got counted and run through the machine. You can count them over and over and over, and they will still be the same, because nobody is going to commit a fraud that would be caught during a recount. No matter how many affidavits from people (like the driver who brought blank mail in ballots to Pennsylvania) - it doesn't conclusively prove fraud, and it's doubtful that if fraud was committed, that anyone would just cop to it after the fact.

The best thing you can do is to work towards the next election and attempt to figure out a way to make sure that people are not counting in the middle of the night when nobody is watching, that the people counting are not Party officials (as they have always been), and that actual observers are welcomed rather than treated like the enemy.

C.H. Truth said...

It's a technical surrender because the anomalies are not proof of fraud. Allegations are not proof. Just evidence.

Since I have never suggested that anomalies are "proof" of anything... then why do you feel so compelled to tell me I am wrong?

Did William Barr not appointing a special counsel actually prove that these anomalies didn't exist?

Because unless it proves that they don't exist... I am still 100% correct and 100% factual to talk about them, talk about how unlikely they are, and talk about how there are almost no reasonable explanations for them.

Which is what "really" pisses you off.

Because you know that I know that you know that this election was not on the up and up... and you know that I know that you know that even the Reverend knows that that cannot be "proven" false, no matter what.

So in essence, it's not on "me" to prove anything. Because deep down we all know the truth. We all know that the fact that the two counties with the largest Biden gains in Georgia (well outside of what you saw in any other counties, including other counties that sat side by side with these) - were also the same counties that sent poll watchers home and continued to count.

You and I also know that under no circumstances did Fulton county only count 5000 ballots in the two and half plus hours they counted without supervision.

While that cannot be "proved" in a court of law to be fraud that can overturn an election. It's enough for those more informed people in America to prove certain things in the court of public opinion.

Moreover, the only reason why most people don't see it... is because most people haven't looked, and the MSM has basically refused to report on it...

or they just take whomever they "want" to be believe as gospel and call it "fact checking" - knowing fools like you will suck it up!

CAN'T MAKE THIS UP:
Who Won and Lost in the Stimulus Bill?

11:30 am
Jonathan Bernstein:
“I got one wrong.
In the deal reached Sunday on the pandemic relief and stimulus bill, it appears that President Donald Trump successfully negotiated for one of his priorities: the return of the three-martini lunch.

“Oddly enough, this comes at a time when, from all reports, Trump is paying no attention to his job, instead focusing only on efforts to undermine the rule of law by overturning an election that he lost. Presumably he told Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who negotiated the deal with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on behalf of the White House, that he didn’t much care what was in the bill as long as it included this provision.

“As for the Democrats? This particular log-roll seems like a big win for them. The business deduction may be lousy policy and a subsidy for the rich, but it’s relatively harmless overall — and liberal policy experts are thrilled with what they got in return. So it’s a win for Trump, a win for Democrats and a loss for congressional Republicans. If there’s been a deal with any similar configuration over the past four years, I can’t think of it.”

(Trump doesn't drink!)

CAN'T MAKE THIS UP, EITHER.
Trump Wants an Airport Named After Him
11:00 am
Daily Beast:
“In the dying days of his presidency, Donald Trump has taken to asking some aides and advisers about the process of naming airports after former U.S. presidents, according to two people who’ve heard him recently inquiring on this.

“One of the two sources relayed that, in the past three weeks, Trump mentioned that ‘no president’ wants an American airport that has a bad reputation or crumbling infrastructure named after them. The other knowledgeable source said that Trump had, at one point since the 2020 election, offhandedly asked what kind of ‘paperwork’ was necessary to get an airport named after a former president.”

Maybe he could get a toilet at an airport named after him.

House Subpoenas Documents from Health Officials
10:44 am
Top Trump administration health officials were subpoenaed by House Democrats on Monday, after an investigation showed “extensive” political interference with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Hill reports.

Taegan Goddard opines:
The House should be ready to impeach Trump again

[Why? If he continues to try to overthrow the election?]

Engaging With Trump’s Supporters Isn’t Productive
12:30 pm
Tom Nichols:
“That may sound like a profoundly un-civic, even un-American, stance. After all, Democrats, independents, and what’s left of the last few sensible Republicans should not stop trying to solve problems together. To cease all political communication would not only be foolish, but our system of government does not allow it. Even in the minority, a party can help or hinder the process of governing.

“Nonetheless, ordinary people worn out by the dramas and lies of the past four years have a right to refuse to take Trump’s most enthusiastic supporters seriously. To reject further debate with people whose views are completely incoherent is not only understandable, but sensible.”

It All Comes Down to Georgia
12:00 pm
Dan Pfeiffer:
“It is almost impossible to overstate the stakes in the two January 5th runoff elections in Georgia. If Democrats win both races, Joe Biden has a chance to pass his economic, health care, and climate plans. He will be able to confirm his cabinet and appoint judges. Mitch McConnell will be nothing more than a dour annoyance — a grumpy speed bump on the road to progress. If Democrats don’t win both races, well … things get much more difficult. I can’t remember a non-Presidential election of this much consequence.”

and these assholes are so arrogant, so tone deaf, and so clueless, their "MATH" guy andrew yang suggests a 'bar code' for those receiving the vaccine. and WE'RE the ones who are supposed to be the fucking nazi's. a very dear friend has one remaining living relative who sports a tattoo on his forearm. one that reminds him daily of the horrific atrocities he survived. if only Mr. Yang could spend some time with this hero. but I'm sure that would be beneath him because MATH or something.

You’ve likely seen the reports (in the Times, Politico and Axios) of this White House meeting yesterday involving Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and various administration officials in which President Trump seemed to back increasingly outlandish and illegal ploys to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election, the results of which are now certified, final and over. What is buried a bit in most of these stories is that Mike Flynn was at the meeting too.

Given her wild conspiracy theories and the litigation she’s pursued around the country, the focus on Powell is understandable. Trump is reportedly considering making her a “special counsel” to investigate the election, whatever that might mean. But I think we need to see Powell as essentially a creature of Mike Flynn, at least inasmuch as she holds Trump’s attention. It’s Flynn who has had a unique connection to and hold over Trump going all the way back to 2015.

Flynn, the now pardoned former three star general, has been making the rounds in recent days pressing the President to declare martial law and have the military hold new elections in the swing states Trump lost. Again, he was at this meeting. He’s the one Trump is now listening to. Powell, who took over as Flynn’s lawyer after he stopped cooperating with the Mueller investigation, is part of the Flynn package. It’s his influence, credibility with Trump and hold over him that is what’s driving this.

I have no doubt that Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th President in one month. But I think everyone is underestimating just how chaotic and dangerous the next 30 days are going to be. What we are watching is nothing less than a criminal conspiracy to overturn the results of the 2020 election – an election that is legally confirmed, certified and done in every way – which includes the President, Flynn, Giuliani, Powell and others. Barr’s departure on the 23rd, the Pentagon’s abrupt end of transition cooperation with the Biden team and a lot else all need to be seen in this light.

Combined with this news is the revelation that Rudy Giuliani has been pressing the Department of Homeland Security to seize voting machines in states that Trump lost as part of some investigation that Powell will purportedly conduct as “special counsel.” The Trump uber-loyalists at DHS, including Ken Cuccinelli, are refusing, saying – rightly – that DHS has no legal authority to do any such thing. Giuliani is not part of the government. He’s some combination of the President’s personal lawyer and perhaps also the person in charge of the phantom Trump campaign.

Donald Trump is clearly profoundly frightened at the prospect of losing power, for reasons that go beyond the emotional investment and loss that almost makes electoral defeat a shattering blow. He is listening to people who are puffing him up with the belief that mounting a coup against the government will allow him to stay in power.

If I am going to blame anyone for a "virus" - I would blame the people who set the policy... which was not the White House.

But alas, the closest thing you can do in terms of blaming someone for Covid is to blame the Chinese (where it started and where it spread from).

So, sometimes... mother nature has a bit more to do with things than politicians. Is that a hard concept to grasp?

The very competent Speaker Pelosi has so far managed to avoid another government shutdown since retaking the speakership in January. Her predecessor, Paul Ryan, oversaw not one but three government shutdowns during the first two years of the Trump administration – including the first to occur when the federal government was controlled by one party in over 40 years.

With Democrats retaining control of the House of Representatives and competent dealmaker Joe Biden ascending to the presidency in January, it seems unlikely that we will face another government shutdown for the next two years.

If the economy recovers from the covid-19 pandemic, the Democrats may get control of the Senate in 2020.

Since Trump won't be the President, even Moscow Mitch McConnell will work with the Biden administration, because Biden has a lot of experience dealing with other party legislators.

The Grand Old Party has been suckered into a very unusual position.

Scott will never concede, that he was wrong about the President.

I see two men who might return the Republican party of the Reagan era.

Sasse of Nebraska and Rubio in Florida could work together towards rational Republican party.

So we don't have a Government shut down and you give Nancy Pelosi credit? Now you suggest that if we do not have one over the next four years it will be because of Joe Biden?

I would argue that Obama was never anyone who could bring anyone together to get anything done... and that is why we had so many shutdowns. He was a polarizing President.

Trump on the other hand is the man who "wrote" the art of the deal, and managed to not only avoid Government shut downs, but actually broker several Middle East peace deals.

Something Obama could never do.
