Just another statistical oddity to conveniently ignore!

To be fair, I don't believe Joe Biden himself cheated!

Obviously to believe that Joe Biden is behind some sort of massive election fraud is to give him way too much credit. The fact is that we have found fraud in several states that do appear similar in some instances. But it would be more likely that these were separate actions, rather than some sort of collective coordinated conspiracy. It's not like election cheating has never happened or will never happen in the future. We just always pretend that it didn't happen "this time".

The one clarification that I would like to present as it pertains to these claims is that a simple explanation (in and of itself) regarding allegations of fraud or tampering does not constitute that the claim as been debunked or that the explanation is akin to a "fact check".  The reality is that everyone who does something wrong (breaking the law, having an affair, cheating on a test, or doing pretty much anything) will have an explanation. Heck even the hundreds of people a year who go to the doctor to have things removed from their rectum/colon will provide an "explanation" as to how the object ended up there. Usually it involves falling off a ladder and getting your pants caught on the way down.

The fact that an explanation is provided, does not mean something is debunked or fact checked. This remains a reality, whether that someone is attempting to explain away odd election activity or if Uncle Carl is explaining how that Barbie doll got lodged in his rectum.  Doesn't mean every explanation is a lie (maybe Uncle Carl did slip on the wet floor after getting out of the shower and the Barbie doll just happened to be there). Just means that we much not accept either the allegation or the explanation at face value as a matter of consistent default.

The left rejected every single reasonable explanation regarding the Russian collusion situation, while promoting some of the craziest conspiracies ever floated. Let's not pretend that they are some sort of voice of reason for being 100% on board with every explanation (reasonable or otherwise) regarding allegations of fraud or tampering. In most every situation, the most reasonable action would be to believe what appears most plausible or reasonable. Not just believe what you want.

Let's see now: If I remember correctly every election a Democatic presidential candidate has won in all the last years has been followed up by maps showing how many, many, many counties voted against him.

Also, what huge areas of the country's rural areas voted against him.

Such maps have been awash in red, with blue only in the more heavily populated areas.

I tell you what: Why don't you give us the combined populations of all the counties that voted against Biden and the combined populations of all the counties that voted for him.

I mean, if we are here being challenged to deal with facts, wouldn't those particular facts perhaps prove significant?

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you, soon to be ex-President Trump, for turning out so many, many millions upon millions of voters voting against you!

BREAKING: President-elect Joe Biden formally clinched the number of Electoral College votes he needs to take the White House next month after California certified its election Friday. California’s certification of its results appointed Biden 55 electors, pushing his total to 279, or nine more than the 270 he needs to be elected president.

It’s hardly surprising that politicians like rrb and Scott Asshole believe they can get away with turning false claims of voter fraud into the very real disenfranchisement of eligible voters. It’s happened many times before. But this time ought to be different. Egged on by the would-be authoritarian in the White House, election results have been challenged in at least six states. Dozens of lawsuits have been filed in an attempt to delay or overturn the certification of the final tallies. Hearings have been held. Attorney General Bill Barr, in a frightening break with established Department of Justice procedure, authorized federal prosecutors to investigate credible fraud claims even if doing so would appear political.

The results? The Trump Administration is now a 39-time loser in court. A parade of frustrated judges, many appointed by Trump himself, have written blistering opinions pointing out that the president and his allies have no basis for their claims. Even Trump’s own lawyers have admitted under questioning that they’re not alleging fraud because they have no evidence with which to do so. Inside the conservative echo chamber, the Republican party’s attacks on the integrity of our elections will sow doubt and distrust in our political process. But in the real world, the idea that marquee elections are being stolen via voter fraud has now been disproven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Which means that, barring real evidence to the contrary, it’s time for our institutions to stop taking partisan claims of voter fraud seriously. Reporters should treat allegations of a fraudulent election the way they treat birtherism or QAnon – as pure conspiracy theory. Courts should stop giving self-proclaimed fraud-fighters the benefit of the doubt, and instead demand that they substantiate their allegations before barring eligible Americans from the ballot box. The handful of Republican politicians who, to their lasting credit, condemned Trump’s attempts to manipulate the most recent election should be equally forceful about attempts to manipulate future ones.

This year, false claims of fraud weren’t enough to overturn an election. But next time we may not be so lucky. Trump is not the first American to embrace the voter-fraud myth for his political advantage, but if American democracy is to survive, he ought to be the last.

After noon on January 20, Trump will no longer fall under Twitter’s policy for world leaders, and the former president will have to follow the same guidelines as regular citizens, a Twitter spokesperson confirmed to Forbes on Thursday.

This means Trump could face increasingly severe punishment if he continues to break Twitter rules until he is banned from the platform entirely, though it would take multiple infractions for that to happen.

A first-time offense typically results in Twitter blocking the user from using their account until they delete the tweet, while a second violation can result in a temporary freeze on the user’s account, and so forth (the president’s namesake, Donald Trump Jr., was restricted from using the platform for 12 hours after he tweeted out a false claim about hydroxychloroquine and Covid-19 in July.)

A Twitter spokesperson—who spoke to Forbes on the condition of anonymity—said it does not have “special rules” for Trump, and would not discuss whether the company had internal deliberations about what would happen if it had to ban the president once he leaves office.

If it takes a miracle for Trump to stay in office, evangelicals like Michele Bachmann are fine with that

As the inevitability of President Trump’s loss became apparent even to his acolyte Kellyanne Conway in recent days, his supporters increasingly pinned their hopes for a second term on a last-ditch appeal, not to the Supreme Court, but to the one power that can outvote it: God.

It is in the nature of prophecy that it can never be disproven by empirical events, so when the Associated Press proclaimed Biden the winner of the election, that didn’t change many minds on the evangelical (or, for that matter, the secular) right. Michele Bachmann, the former Republican congresswoman from Minnesota who made a brief run for president in 2012, was especially eloquent on this score, posting a video on Nov. 9 calling on God to use his “strong iron rod” to “smash the delusion” that Biden had won the election, along with several other political developments she found disconcerting, such as the Democrats retaining control of the House of Representatives and the possibility that the two U.S. Senate runoff elections in Georgia could put Democratic leader Chuck Schumer in control of the Senate.

this is why i am absolutely convinced that you are the dumbest fuck i have ever encountered on the interwebs.

the very real disenfranchisement of LEGAL ballots occurred when your team decided to stuff the ballot boxes with illegal ballots/illegal votes.

all the minorities you claim to represent? you fucked all that voted for Trump.

you FUCKED them. then your asshole dear leader 0linsky rubs salt in the wound by insulting all the Florida hispanics.

you guys fucked every single law abiding citizen in America, whether they voted for Biden or not.

you insulted America, insulted the process, and did permanent damage to the electoral process in America. which was your goal.

you have stripped every single last shred of legitimacy and integrity from the process and the system.

you've managed to create an electoral environment in America where, if people manage to ever cast a ballot again, will wonder if it's even worth it.

i've personally talked to people who will never vote again. and who can blame them? why should they when in the dead of night during the next election you'll just crank out the ballots necessary to drag your next piece of shit candidate across the goal line.

we disenfranchised NO ONE. we follow the rules, the law, the process. and you scumbags did what you always do: you lie, you cheat, you steal.

This week, Senior Advisor and First Daughter Ivanka Trump was deposed as part of an investigation by the Washington, D.C. attorney general’s office into a misuse of inauguration funds by the Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC). The attorney general’s office sued the Trump Organization and the PIC in January, alleging that the organization violated its status as a nonprofit by misusing more than $1 million in funds and “grossly overpaying” the Trump Hotel for event space for the 2017 presidential inauguration.

On Tuesday, the eldest Trump daughter sat with investigators to try and explain yet another legal line the Trump administration has crossed. According to the lawsuit, the PIC — under the direction of Rick Gates, the former inaugural committee deputy chairman — paid $175,000 per day for four days to reserve space at the Trump Hotel. Wolkoff expressed discomfort with that fee, noting that it was nearly twice the market rate, and expressed that concern to both President Trump and Ivanka in an in-person meeting as well as in a followup email.

In addition to Ivanka, the attorney general’s office has subpoenaed records from Tom Barrack, chairman of the inaugural committee, first lady Melania Trump, and Gates. Barrack was deposed November 17 and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the inauguration’s event planner will be deposed next week. Despite spending, according to her Twitter, 5+ hours in deposition, Ivanka may not be out of the woods just yet.

In her capacity as senior advisor, Ivanka has been in the trenches of the Trump operation for some time now. And although she was spared from similar inquiries in early 2019, Ivanka is no longer off the table when it comes to investigating the Trump administration’s wrongdoings. Now the question remains: Are her crimes enough to land her in jail?

Katarina Flicker, an Emory University junior, took the entire fall semester off to organize for Georgia Democrats, helping register other students to vote.

And even though November's election is over — with President-elect Joe Biden flipping the state blue for the first time since 1992 — Flicker isn't finished. She's now working closely with the Young Democrats of Emory to register even more people ahead of Georgia's two high-stakes Senate runoff races, the outcome of which will determine which party controls the Senate.

During the general election, voters 18-29 made up 20 percent of the Georgia electorate, according to NBC News exit polls. As the Jan. 5 runoffs draw closer, young Georgians on both sides of the aisle are working to mobilize their peers to vote again — or for the first time in their lives.

“I think that teenage complacency is something that has been trendy,” Flicker, 20, said. “But seeing the way that my generation, in particular, has stood up and fought for what we believe in ... that is how you make change.”

Georgia natives Grace Hall, 20, and Juliet Eden, 21, are students at the University of Georgia in Athens. They serve as president and communications director, respectively, for the college’s “Fair Fight” chapter, the political action committee founded by Stacey Abrams aimed at mitigating voter suppression.

The organization’s primary goal ahead of the runoffs, they said, is to educate voters about the steps they must take in order to ensure their votes are counted, such as checking to make sure they have not been purged from voter rolls.

“I think the entire country is looking at Georgia right now,” Hall, a junior, said.
