Minnesota: Highest rate of Covid in the Country ...

Based a variety of polling, tracing of phone movement, traffic counts, etc...
  • Mask wearing is up
  • Mobility is way down
  • Travel is at a minimum
  • Almost no Holiday gatherings
  • Limited travel
  • Much retail and most restaurants pickup only
We are actually nearly as shut down as were were this spring when this first hit. A couple of nights ago I wanted to run errands, and at 5:00 at night two of the three places I needed to go were closed, as well as Taco Johns (which was were I was planning on picking up some drive-thru). I have to set up an appointment to see the guitar repair guy at the music store that you can generally just walk into?

In  many ways, this (today's guidelines) feels more locked down that it has ever felt.

Of course our politicians and media claimed that it was our vigilance and willingness to follow stringent guidelines back in the spring that caused the spread of the virus to dissipate to nearly nothing. Many other experts cited the beginning of summer and change in weather as the main reason why our cases dwindled.

Now we are doing as much (if not more) than we had been doing, but our cases are going in the opposite direction. Minnesota just passed up every other state in the amount of cases per 100,000 over the past seven days (according to the CDC). We are now seeing more cases than Wisconsin, Iowa, and both the Dakotas, even as we have the most stringent guidelines in place of any of our neighboring states.

Our politicians and media are blaming the limited number of people who may not be following protocols to the letter, or blaming the activities of people outside of Minnesota for the rise in cases. Our cases are due to "irresponsible individuals" according to many. Of course, many other experts cite the beginning of winter and the cold and flu season as the main reason we are seeing the rise.

Does it seem logical that the same actions that were cited as the reason for our decline is not being cited as the reason for our increase? Wouldn't it be more accurate to deem the behavior of the citizens as the constant and the change in weather that is the variable that is growing our cases?

Yeah, pretty sure that would make sense if we wanted to look objectively at the science, math, and statistics of it. But who wants to do that anymore? Listening to "science" is so 2019. It's 2020 and we listen to our politicians.

the way you guys are supposed to respond to this is for every democrat in the state at every level needs to violate every order, mandate, decree, dictum and suggestion.

it's what's being done in every other liberal enclave across the country. it's important to give relief to our liberal betters because they're uh, liberal, and they're better.

Disobey all the suggestions of the CDC.
Refuse to wear masks. Don't obey the rules regarding bars, grocery stores, restaurants, distancing, or any lockdowns. See where that gets you.

We have pretty high amounts of covid infection here in my home county, much of it due to the fact that we have two universities.

Conservative pundit fears now is 'most dangerous' part of Donald Trump’s presidency
6:15 AM
Charlie Sykes, the founder of the conservative website The Bulwark, on Wednesday warned Americans to keep focused on Donald Trump now more than ever as it could actually be the “most dangerous” part of his presidency.

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House,” the conservative pundit and staunch “Never Trumper” said people could “probably spare ourselves some heartburn if we recognize ... there are no norms that he is not willing to violate, there’s no standard of decency that he is not willing to shred.”

Sykes also suggested “we have not even seen how low he’s going to go on his pardon-palooza.” Trump last month pardoned former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI during the Russia investigation. The president is also reportedly exploring the pardon of three of his adult children (Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump), his son-in-law Jared Kushner and personal attorney Rudy Giuliani.
AND OF COURSE, HIMSELF.

“We don’t know what the extent of the corruption is going to be,” Sykes continued. “But what we do know is the president of the United States, right now in real-time, is trying to overturn a legitimate, democratic election.

“If somebody would have suggested a few years ago that we would be seeing a president of the United States that is actively trying to disenfranchise millions of voters to overturn an election and have himself declared the winner, people would have thought, oh, that’s Trump Derangement Syndrome,” he added. “But that’s literally what’s going on right now.”

Sykes also mentioned that Trump may be planning to try to field a counter inauguration.
