The truly sick and pathetically funny tenure of donnie the trumps 2020 compilation of lies......He remains #1 in the book of yearly lies again....sad, very sad... As Lil Schirtty takes another big slurp of his old fat white ass!!!!!!

It’s time for our annual roundup of the biggest Pinocchios of the year.
Ever since President Trump burst on the political scene in 2015, we have noted that we faced a challenge in not letting him dominate this list of the biggest falsehoods. The president is a serial exaggerator without parallel in U.S. politics. He not only consistently makes false claims, but also repeats them, in some cases hundreds of times, even though they have been proved wrong.
In 2019, Trump took seven of the 13 spots. He earned six spots in 2018 and 2017, five in 2016 and three in 2015. Even so, we cheated a bit because in some cases Trump’s false claims on a particular subject were so numerous and varied that we created all-around categories.
The explosion of false and misleading statements from Trump during his presidency is well documented in our database. We have struggled to keep up with his torrent of falsehoods during the final weeks of the campaign, when he barnstormed the country making 600 to 700 false or misleading claims a week. The next update will show he crossed the 25,000 mark by mid-October.
AD

So in this remarkable year, we have given up trying to keep Trump to about half of the list. In 2020, Trump will earn seven of 10 spots, with three all-around categories — his false claims about the coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. election and the violence that erupted after the death of George Floyd in police custody. President-elect Joe Biden earns two spots, while the last slot goes to a GOP hopeful in a Senate race.
Nevertheless, this may be Trump’s last appearance on this annual list. As of Jan. 21, we will set a high bar for fact-checking his statements. He will be a defeated ex-president, and we tend to focus on claims made by people in power. In other words, we hope to ignore him and concentrate on people who really matter in national policy debates.

Trump is 0 for 60 in his election fraud lawsuits and Lil Schitty perpetuates that fraud myth with multiple cartoons showing he does not accept the reality trumps fat ass was beaten to a pulp!!!!! This BS will continue through the foreseeable future as reality does not change with opinions that live on!!!!!!

President Trump’s baseless and desperate claims of a stolen election over the last seven weeks — the most aggressive promotion of “voter fraud” in American history — failed to get any traction in courts across seven states, or come anywhere close to reversing the loss he suffered to Joseph R. Biden Jr.

But the effort has led to at least one unexpected and profoundly different result: A thorough debunking of the sorts of voter fraud claims that Republicans have used to roll back voting rights for the better part of the young century.

In making their case in real courts and the court of public opinion, Mr. Trump and his allies have trotted out a series of tropes and canards similar to those Republicans have pushed to justify laws that in many cases made voting disproportionately harder for Blacks and Hispanics, who largely support Democrats.

Their allegations that thousands of people “double voted” by assuming other identities at polling booths echoed those that have previously been cited as a reason to impose strict new voter identification laws.

Their assertion that large numbers of noncitizens cast illegal votes for Mr. Biden matched claims Republicans have made to argue for harsh new “proof of citizenship” requirements for voter registration.

And their tales about large numbers of cheaters casting ballots in the name of “dead voters” were akin to those several states have used to conduct aggressive “purges” of voting lists that wrongfully slated tens of thousands of registrations for termination.

After bringing some 60 lawsuits, and even offering financial incentive for information about fraud, Mr. Trump and his allies have failed to prove definitively any case of illegal voting on behalf of their opponent in court — not a single case of an undocumented immigrant casting a ballot, a citizen double voting, nor any credible evidence that legions of the voting dead gave Mr. Biden a victory that wasn’t his.

Extend an Olive Branch?
8:08 am
Frank Bruni:
“Like President-elect Biden, I believe in common ground, in comity, in identifying where we intersect rather than where we diverge. I was drawn to him, as were a critical mass of other Americans, because he represented the calm after the storm, the sense after the sensation.

“But is calm a mirage? Is normalcy obsolete?
In the many weeks since it became clear that he lost the election, Donald Trump has successfully marketed an outrageous alternate reality, so that 70 percent of registered Republican voters, according to a Quinnipiac poll this month, believe that Biden’s victory was illegitimate. Trump has taken his refusal to concede to historic, previously unthinkable lengths. And an overwhelming majority of Republican members of Congress have played along, actively or passively, many of them knowing better, all of them traitors to democracy and profiles in cowardice.

“To this crew Biden is supposed to extend an olive branch?”

Unemployment benefits expire for millions as Trump rages

December 27, 2020, 7:48 AM
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Unemployment benefits for millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet lapsed overnight as President Donald Trump refused to signed an end-of-year COVID relief and spending bill that had been considered a done deal before his sudden objections.

The fate of the bipartisan package remained in limbo Sunday as Trump continued to demand larger COVID relief checks and complained about “pork” spending. Without the widespread funding provided by the massive measure, a government shutdown would occur when money runs out at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

“It’s a chess game and we are pawns,” said Lanetris Haines, a self-employed single mother of three in South Bend, Indiana, who stood to lose her $129 weekly jobless benefit unless Trump signed the package into law or succeeded in his improbable quest for changes.

Washington has been reeling since Trump turned on the deal after it had won sweeping approval in both houses of Congress and after the White House had assured Republican leaders that Trump would support it.

Instead, he assailed the bill's plan to provide $600 COVID relief checks to most Americans — insisting it should be $2,000. House Republicans swiftly rejected that idea during a rare Christmas Eve session. But Trump has not been swayed in spite of the nation being in the grip of a pandemic.

“I simply want to get our great people $2000, rather than the measly $600 that is now in the bill," Trump tweeted Saturday from Palm Beach, Florida, where he is spending the holiday. “Also, stop the billions of dollars in ‘pork.’”

President-elect Joe Biden called on Trump to sign the bill immediately as the midnight Saturday deadline neared for two federal programs providing unemployment aid.

“It is the day after Christmas, and millions of families don’t know if they’ll be able to make ends meet because of President Donald Trump’s refusal to sign an economic relief bill approved by Congress with an overwhelming and bipartisan majority," Biden said in a statement. He accused Trump of an “abdication of responsibility” that has “devastating consequences."

“I’ve been talking to people who are scared they’re going to be kicked out from their homes, during the Christmas holidays, and still might be if we don’t sign this bill,’’ said Rep. Debbie Dingell, a Michigan Democrat.

Lauren Bauer, a fellow in economic studies at the Brookings Institution, has calculated that 11 million people would lose aid from the programs immediately without additional relief; millions more would exhaust other unemployment benefits within weeks.

Andrew Stettner, an unemployment insurance expert and senior fellow at the Century Foundation think tank, said the number may be closer to 14 million because joblessness has spiked since Thanksgiving.

“All these folks and their families will suffer if Trump doesn’t sign the damn bill,’’ Heidi Shierholz, director of policy at the liberal Economic Policy Institute, tweeted Wednesday.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

How and when people would be affected by the lapse depended on the state they lived in, the program they were relying on and when they applied for benefits. In some states, people on regular unemployment insurance would continue to receive payments under a program that extends benefits when the jobless rate surpassed a certain threshold, Stettner said.

About 9.5 million people, however, had been relying on the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program that expired altogether Saturday. That program made unemployment insurance available to freelancers, gig workers and others who were normally not eligible. After receiving their last checks, those recipients would not be able to file for more aid, Stettner said.

While payments could be received retroactively, any gap would mean more hardship and uncertainty for Americans who had already grappled with bureaucratic delays, often depleting much of their savings to stay afloat while waiting for payments to kick in.

They were people like Earl McCarthy, a father of four who lives in South Fulton, Georgia, and had been relying on unemployment since losing his job as a sales representative for a luxury senior living community. He said he would be left with no income by the second week of January if Trump refused to sign the bill.

McCarthy said he already burned through much of his savings as he waited five months to begin receiving about $350 a week in unemployment benefits.

“The entire experience was horrifying," said McCarthy. "I shudder to think if I had not saved anything or had an emergency fund through those five months, where would we have been?”

He added, “It’s going to be difficult if the president doesn’t sign this bill.”

The bill, which was in Florida awaiting Trump's signature, would also activate a weekly $300 federal supplement to unemployment payments.

Sharon Shelton Corpening had been hoping the extra help would allow her 83-year-old mother, with whom she lives, to stop eating into her social security payments to make their $1,138 rent.

Corpening, who lives in the Atlanta area, had launched a freelance content strategy business that was just taking off before the pandemic hit, prompting several of her contracts to fall through. She was receiving about $125 a week under the pandemic unemployment program and says she would be unable to pay her bills in about a month. This, despite her temporary work for the U.S. Census and as an elections poll worker.

“We on the brink,” said Corpening, who lobbies for Unemployment Action, a project launched by the Center for Popular Democracy to fight for relief. “One more month, if that. Then, I run out of everything.”

In addition to the unemployment benefits that have already lapsed, Trump's continued refusal to sign the bill would lead to the expiration of eviction protections and put on hold a new round of subsidies for hard-hit businesses, restaurants and theaters, as well as money for cash-starved transit systems and for vaccine distribution.

The relief was also attached to a $1.4 trillion government funding bill to keep the federal government operating through September, which would mean that failing to sign it by midnight Tuesday would trigger a federal shutdown.

Joe Biden consistently had difficulty filling a venue. We all saw it. Republicans won up and down the election. But somehow, the guy who few were excited about gets 80M votes and so many other dems lose. Then there are those highly anomalous middle of the night vote dumps. Tens of millions of voters have good reason to question the legitimacy of biden as president. And after four years of resist calling then racist Nazis just for suppirting Trump, there will be no uniting.

I find it amazing that Congress thinks Americans losing their homes and businesses to draconian lockdown will be passified with a $600 check while their trillion dollar bill is stuffed with meaningless pork. All they need to do is bump the checks to $2K and cut some of tge absurd funding to pay for it. And what a shame that Pelosi held this funding hostage for months just because she hates Trump.

Nashville blast likely suicide bombing, CNN reports
Dec. 26, 2020, 7:51 PM

Investigators believe the explosion that rocked Nashville on Christmas morning was a suicide bombing, CNN reported Saturday, citing law-enforcement sources.

Human remains were found at the scene where a recreational vehicle blew up on Friday, officials had previously said.

The FBI was searching a home in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville believed to belong to a person of interest in the blast that injured three people and damaged more than 40 businesses downtown.

Federal agents on Saturday could be seen searching the home and grounds of the property in Antioch that according to CBS News belonged to Anthony Quinn Warner, 63. A Google Maps image taken in May 2019 showed a recreational vehicle like the one that blew up parked at the property.

What Are the Odds? Temperature Records Keep Falling (Op-Ed)
news.yahoo.com/odds-temperature-records-keep...
For the Northern Hemisphere, the odds are no greater than one in 300,000 that 14 of the 16 warmest years over the 136-year period would have occurred since 2000. The odds of back-to-back records (something we haven't seen in several decades) as witnessed in 2014 and 2015, is roughly one in 1,500.

Cambridge, Massachusetts, has become the first US city to mandate the placing of stickers on fuel pumps to warn drivers of the resulting dangers posed by the climate crisis.

The final design of the bright yellow stickers, shared with the Guardian, includes text that warns drivers the burning of gasoline, diesel and ethanol has “major consequences on human health and the environment including contributing to climate change”.

The stickers will be placed on all fuel pumps in Cambridge, which is situated near Boston and is home to Harvard University, “fairly soon” once they are received from printers, a city spokesman confirmed.

“The city of Cambridge is working hard with our community to fight climate change,” the spokesman added. “The gas pump stickers will remind drivers to think about climate change and hopefully consider non-polluting options.”

Because guess what? Everyone is looking at the same memes.

Do you seriously believe that John Hinderacker, Paul Mirengoff and the Powerline bloggers are creating these memes and placing them on their site?

Or do you believe that I am claiming that I write and design them myself?

Sometimes I wonder about you Roger... Such a hateful spiteful person these days, always looking for a manner to criticize people.

Again, the Powerline didn't create these cartoons. In your mind they "stole" them from the cartoonist that created them, just like everyone did. Just like every meme on Twitter is "stolen" from the artist.

Townhall has cartoons, Legal Insurrection, there are other websites that have meme after meme to choose from. I get emails and such to use. I see great memes on twitter (I already have a handful in my folder for next week already).

Nobody but you is stupid enough to believe that anyone other than the cartoonists "own" these memes or that everyone on twitter or any blogger who uses them is in some sort of violation.

Why don't you have a cup of coffee, take your meds, settle down, and relax. You are obviously agitated and on edge today. Take a relaxing Sunday drive your wonderful Audi A8 luxury automobile. That will likely help calm you down.

C.H. Truth said...

I always had the impression you collected those cartoons from the various sources..

But if Roger says I didn't... well then, Roger must be correct.

The truth is that I had 22 memes in my Sunday Funnies. Including several that were not even posted on the Powerline.

Powerline had over 80 memes in their thread. Which obviously would include many of the same ones that I had already collected for that week.

I used a handful that I hadn't otherwise seen (The KFC, Rock Coyote, and the Shoelace are what I remember downloading - which is not illegal since they do not own these memes).

But the rest I already had sitting in my folder. The chances that my 22 would not overlap with their 80 is extremely unlikely. But then again...

Since Roger believes that 22 memes are all Stolen from the Powerline.

And you believed him without even looking at the comparison.

Is called "critical liberal thinking" - accept allegations at face value because they come from a liberal.
