So you look at your bank statement and see a charge on your account for $976 at the local grocery store that you are quite sure you didn't make. Moreover, the time of the charge (3:30 in the morning) would be completely inconsistent with your shopping patterns, not to mention that you have never purchased $976 worth of groceries in your life.
Your card is not missing, there is no evidence that anyone else had your card, and you are pretty sure that you (or anyone with access to your card) made the purchase. You decide to check with the store, who can only confirm that a charge was made at the store at the time with the correct pin information. They can provide no more information than that.
So what do you do? You could call the police, but since live in a liberal state, it turns out that even if you could prove that someone took your card and used it... it was less than $1000, thus it is decriminalized. Moreover, you have no evidence of who might have taken it? Your only real evidence that it wasn't you is the unusual time and the unusual purchase amount that was charged.
There appears to be nothing that can be done. The police won't help. There is no "judge" who can give you your money back. Since you have no evidence of any fraud and the purchase was local, the bank will not just refund the charge.
So here is the only question that matters: if nothing can be done about that charge, then does it really still even exist? According to the logic of the liberal, it must not. Just as the "statistical anomaly" can only actually exist if authorities of some sort can do something about it.
But my guess is that in the real world (rather than in liberal logic world) that $974 charge does not just disappear, just because it cannot be "proven" to be fraudulent to any authority. My guess is that it still exists and you will still pay for it. Just as in the real world, a statistical anomaly doesn't just "disappear" if the cause of it cannot be "proven" in a court within a few weeks to be caused by fraud.
But apparently reality is a confusing place for many liberals.

It’s over, again.
The 538 members of the Electoral College cast their ballots on Monday, the penultimate step in confirming President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump in the November election.
In Georgia, a state Biden was able to flip in 2020, former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams took the roll call of electors and announced that the state had cast its electoral votes for him.
“I am pleased to announce that Joseph R. Biden has received 16 votes for president of the United States,” Abrams said.
As more members of the Electoral College cast their votes around the country, the drama-free proceedings resembled previous elections in which the results were a foregone conclusion. A little after 5:30 p.m. ET, when California cast its 55 votes, Biden crossed the 270-vote threshold needed to officially be declared the next president.
Despite pressure for Trump and his legal team to convince the Republican legislatures in battleground states to appoint a slate of electors who would overturn the popular vote, none obliged. Biden was on track to receive his 306 votes compared to 232 for Trump — coincidentally, the same margin Trump won in 2016, which he has characterized as a “landslide.”
Stung by Biden’s victory, Trump has relentlessly claimed that it was the result of electoral fraud. But the outcome was all but sealed on Dec. 8, the “safe harbor day” deadline to resolve any outstanding disputes about the results. That left the formality of casting the electoral votes that had already been decided.
Still, even on the day that the Electoral College confirmed his loss, Trump continued to push baseless conspiracy theories about the election results in social media posts immediately flagged as containing misinformation.
But judges in Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia did not agree that fraud had played a role in deciding the winner. In ruling after ruling, Trump’s legal team suffered stinging rebukes from judges, many of them appointed by the president himself, who either found no evidence of fraud, or took issue with the idea that the judiciary would simply toss out enough votes to keep Trump in office for a second term.
A last-ditch effort by 18 Republican attorneys general to ask the Supreme Court to throw out the votes in four states won by Biden was turned down decisively on Friday.
On Monday, Wisconsin’s Supreme Court handed Trump’s lawyer’s their latest defeat, refusing to invalidate some 220,000 ballots and overturn the election results.
“We conclude the Campaign is not entitled to the relief it seeks,” Justice Brian Hagedorn wrote in the the majority opinion.
By 3:00 p.m. ET, all six of the battleground states where Trump contested the election results had cast their electoral vote ballots for Biden.
Without an assist from the courts, and with the Electoral College having cast its ballots, all that remains now is for Congress to open and count them on Jan. 6. Vice President Mike Pence, who presides over the Senate, will pronounce Biden the winner.
When that happens, the election will truly be over, again.

Emmanuel Duron was already facing an assault charge for blindsiding a referee during a high school football game in Texas.
On Monday he learned that the attack will cost him the rest of his high school athletic career. Members of Texas’ University Interscholastic League executive committee voted 5-0 on Monday to suspend Duron from competing in athletics for the remainder of the 2020-21 school calendar, according to The Monitor in McCallen.
As a senior, Duron’s run as a high school sports star in South Texas is over. A standout defensive lineman for Edinburg High School, Duron was named an All-Area wrestler last season and was expected to compete for a state wrestling championship in the spring. He was also the football team’s kicker and punter, and named District 31-6A Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.

A man was a victim of a physical assault on Saturday while at a rally in support of Georgia runoff Democratic candidates Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock, Atlanta's WSB-TV reported.
"A passerby stopped and confronted a supporter with physical aggression," Henry County Police Captain Randy Lee told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a statement."The supporter suffered wounds to his face and head."
According to police, the attacker was taken into custody and charged with battery.

The unnamed victim was at a "Get Out the Vote" rally in Stockbridge, Georgia when an attacker punched him in the face, then proceeded to rip up his signs for Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock, according to Atlanta's WSB-TV.
"A passerby stopped and confronted a supporter with physical aggression," Henry County Police Captain Randy Lee told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a statement. "The supporter suffered wounds to his face and head."
Captain Lee also told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the man was treated for his wounds and the attacker was taken into custody and "charged with battery."
Ossoff called the attacker's actions "unacceptable" in a Twitter post on Saturday.
