Why don't we just ruin the Olympics while we are at it?

USOPC Gives The Green Light To Athletes Protesting During The Olympics
The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) caved to American athletes who wish to turn their performance into a social justice protest. Thursday the committee announced it will not sanction athletes who raise a fist or kneel on the medals stand at next year’s Tokyo Games.
Team USA Council on Racial and Social Justice recommended to the USOPC that the prohibition on athletes to peacefully protest and demonstrate be removed. This relates to Rule 50 and Section 2.2 to the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee. The recommendation was in response to athletes who protest against racial and social injustices and want to promote human dignity through global sport. “It calls for the IOC and IPC to update guidelines to allow for peaceful actions that specifically advocate for human rights and racial and social justice, and distinguishes those acts from to-be-defined “divisive demonstrations” – including, but not limited to, currently prohibited acts of hate speech, racist propaganda, political statements and discrimination.”

This is stupid on so many levels. First, in the Olympics, you are representing your country. If you do not "like" your country, then why represent it? Moreover, if you are "representing it" than do not use it for your own personal purposes. This is why these rules exist and why the USOPC should keep them in place. It's one thing to be a paid athlete representing a professional team, or even a college athlete representing a college. But in the Olympics you represent the United States.

Secondly, these protests are not popular even with the athletes anymore. To be clear, they were "never" popular in the United States as a whole, and the entire sports community (starting with the NFL) took huge financial losses over their support for this. But as of now, less and less athletes are doing it (perhaps they got the hint). Why push something in the Olympics that is being "pushed out" of other sporting events.

Zero good will come of this. For every one potential person who may have not watched the Olympics because there was not enough social justice protests (if that is even a thing) there are probably a hundred or even a thousand people who will not watch the Olympics if athletes start to protest. Me being one of them.

We just found out that "Breakdancing" is now going to be an Olympic sport, while wresting still remains on the outside looking in. If that is not stupid enough, then treating the Olympics as the personal stomping grounds for social justice activists will provide the event with the limited audience that they want, and will turn the United States into the international crybabies and bad guys that everyone expects. The rest of the world already sees the United States as pompous self centered assholes. Giving them the green light to follow through with that stereotype is a great example of what has gone wrong with this country.

In November of next year, all of the signatories to the Paris Agreement will meet in Glasgow with a mandate to reduce greenhouse gas emissions much faster than they pledged to do in 2015. What will be new in Glasgow is transparency: By the time the delegates arrive, a new monitoring effort made possible by an array of advanced technologies will have precisely measured the emissions from every major source of greenhouse gases in the world, with most of that data updated every six hours.

With this radical transparency, a result of efforts of a broad coalition of corporations and nonprofits I helped to start called Climate Trace (for tracking real-time atmospheric carbon emissions), countries will have no place to hide when failing to meet their emissions commitments. This precision tracking will replace the erratic, self-reported and often inaccurate data on which past climate agreements were based.

Even then, a speedy phaseout of carbon pollution will require functional democracies. With the casting of a majority of the Electoral College votes on Monday for Mr. Biden, and then his inauguration, we will make a start in restoring America as the country best positioned to lead the world’s struggle to solve the climate crisis.

To do that, we need to deal forthrightly with our shortcomings instead of touting our strengths. That, and that alone, can position the United States to recover the respect of other nations and restore their confidence in America as a reliable partner in the great challenges humankind faces. As in the pandemic, knowledge will be our salvation, but to succeed, we must learn to work together, lest we perish together.

I shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for their work to slow global warming.

Chris Wallace Grills Steve Scalise on 'Disenfranchising' Millions of Biden Voters
Sun, December 13, 2020, 10:47 AM CST

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace confronted House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) on Sunday over his support for the Trump-backed Texas lawsuit rejected by the Supreme Court, pressing the conservative lawmaker on his eagerness to toss out millions of votes for President-elect Joe Biden in order to overturn last month’s presidential election.

Scalise, the second-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives, joined 125 other House Republicans in signing on to the last-ditch lawsuit by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that sought to disenfranchise four states whose residents voted for Biden. President Donald Trump and attorneys general from 18 states that voted for Trump also filed briefs in support of the suit, which was tossed by the Supreme Court on Friday.

Noting that the Electoral College will vote on Monday and Biden will have more than enough electors to secure the presidency, Wallace began his Fox News Sunday interview with Scalise by asking him if he’ll stop contesting the election after that key moment.

“Well, Chris, look, there’s been a lot of contesting of the election in multiple states,” the Louisiana congressman deflected. “The president has done it, other groups have done it too, and that’s because of the concerns people had when you look at the massive vote swings days and weeks after the election. Millions of people feel very frustrated with this process.”

The Fox News moderator pointed out that “vote swings” took place due to state laws that prevented mail-in ballots from being counted prior to Election Day, explaining how this resulted in the so-called “red mirage.” Wallace also noted that the president’s own attorney general has not found any instances of the widespread voter fraud that Trump has baselessly alleged occurred.

Wallace went on to bring up the dozens of election-stealing lawsuits Trump and his allies have lost before mentioning that Scalise signed on to the Texas effort, adding that the Supreme Court threw it out without even listening to it.

“This is this lawsuit that was going to throw out the votes in four swing states—Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin,” the anchor wondered aloud. “I mean, you were talking about disenfranchising the 10 million Biden voters who supported the President-Elect in those four states. Do you feel comfortable throwing out millions of votes of your fellow Americans?”

Scalise, meanwhile, attempted to say “nobody wants any votes thrown out,” prompting Wallace to interrupt: “That’s what the lawsuit would have done, sir!”

The Trump-boosting lawmaker countered that the Texas lawsuit merely argued that some states didn’t follow their election laws and that “state legislatures set the process for having electors,” leading Wallace to once again fire back.

“With all due respect, the Supreme Court—the Supreme Court—the Supreme Court threw that out,” he exclaimed. “They didn’t even hear it. They didn’t think it even merited a hearing.”

Circling back to whether Scalise could finally accept the fact that Trump decisively lost, Wallace asked the lawmaker if “you’re not willing to recognize [Biden] as the president-elect, and you’re not willing to stop contesting the election.”

“Joe Biden has been going through a transition that even President Trump supported while he is also following what the court allows. There are legal challenges allowed,” Scalise dodged, adding: “Let’s let this legal process play itself out.”

The president and his allies have had over 50 cases challenging the election results rejected by various state and federal courts. But their lies about the result have not had zero impact: Violence erupted in the streets of multiple cities Saturday, as Proud Boys and other far-right activists expressed fealty to lame-duck Trump.

U.S. FDA chief defends process for approving COVID-19 vaccine
Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn defended the FDA's process for approving Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday and denied claims by President Donald Trump that the vaccine could have been available a week sooner.

"We do not feel that this could have been out a week earlier," Hahn said on ABC's "This Week," noting that the FDA went through its process appropriately and that he felt "very confident" in the decisions the agency made.

Counting deaths
First of all, there are differences in how countries record Covid-19 deaths.
France and Germany, for example, have been including deaths in care homes in the headline numbers they produce every day.
But the daily figures for England referred only to deaths in hospitals until 29 April, when they started factoring in deaths in care homes as well.
A further complication is that there is no accepted international standard for how you measure deaths, or their causes.
Does somebody need to have been tested for coronavirus to count towards the statistics, or are the suspicions of a doctor enough?
Germany counts deaths in care homes only if people have tested positive for the virus. Belgium, on the other hand, includes any death in which a doctor suspects coronavirus was involved.
The UK's daily figures only count deaths when somebody has tested positive for the virus, but its weekly figures include suspected cases.
Also, does the virus need to be the main cause of death, or does any mention on a death certificate count?
Again, different countries do things differently. So, are you really comparing like with like?

This requires critical thinking skills which a pastor or english teacher, lack

On Friday night, the Supreme Court ended Donald Trump’s last desperate hope to overturn his electoral defeat… in the reality-based world.

But the MAGAverse is a world only lightly tethered to either reality or sanity. Shortly after the Court slapped down the Kraken for the last time, former House spokesman Brendan Buck tweeted:

Brendan Buck @BrendanBuck

I’m shaking my head at people declaring things “over.” As though Trumpers will just accept the result and stop cooking up crazy claims and antics. We should know by now there’s a bottomless supply of crazy.

December 12th 2020

2,698 Retweets34,504 Likes

As we have seen over the last 72 hours, we have not yet come close to exhausting that bottomless supply of crazy. Trump himself continues to rail against reality and demand loyalty.

“No, it’s not over,” Trump told host Brian Kilmeade in the interview, which was taped Saturday at the Army-Navy game at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. “We keep going, and we’re going to continue to go forward. We have numerous local cases. We’re, you know, in some of the states that got rigged and robbed from us. We won every one of them. We won Pennsylvania. We won Michigan. We won Georgia by a lot.”

All of that is a lie. He lost every one of those states. He is losing every “local case.” He will lose the Electoral College vote Monday. But Trump’s fabulism remains gospel for the dead-enders, who still dominate the GOP.

So, no it’s not over, and it won’t be over even after the Electoral College makes Joe Biden’s victory official on Monday. As George Packer notes, “a stab-in-the-back narrative was buried in the minds of millions of Americans, where it burns away, as imperishable as a carbon isotope, consuming whatever is left of their trust in democratic institutions and values.”

Welcome to the Countdown Journal. There are 38 days until Biden’s Inauguration.

The Wall of Shame still stands. It’s worth keeping in mind that 126 Republican members of the House endorsed the absurd lawsuit that was summarily dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Let me repeat that: Nearly two-thirds of the House GOP members endorsed the legal clown coup that would have disenfranchised tens of millions of American voters.

This is, literally, the post-democratic, post-constitutional Republican Party that Trump has deformed into his image.

The Republican party I knew is gone.

my default position is always 'follow the money.'

it has not failed me yet. the amount of $$$ that's sloshing around because of this con is absolutely staggering, as are the number of lives being destroyed by the newsom's and cuomo's and whitmer's of the world completely drunk on power.

this is cloward piven in action.

Cloward and Piven's article is focused on forcing the Democratic Party, which in 1966 controlled the presidency and both houses of the United States Congress, to take federal action to help the poor. They stated that full enrollment of those eligible for welfare "would produce bureaucratic disruption in welfare agencies and fiscal disruption in local and state governments" that would: "...deepen existing divisions among elements in the big-city Democratic coalition: the remaining white middle class, the working-class ethnic groups and the growing minority poor. To avoid a further weakening of that historic coalition, a national Democratic administration would be constrained to advance a federal solution to poverty that would override local welfare failures, local class and racial conflicts and local revenue dilemmas."[2]

They further wrote:

The ultimate objective of this strategy—to wipe out poverty by establishing a guaranteed annual income—will be questioned by some. Because the ideal of individual social and economic mobility has deep roots, even activists seem reluctant to call for national programs to eliminate poverty by the outright redistribution of income.[2]

Michael Reisch and Janice Andrews wrote that Cloward and Piven "proposed to create a crisis in the current welfare system – by exploiting the gap between welfare law and practice – that would ultimately bring about its collapse and replace it with a system of guaranteed annual income. They hoped to accomplish this end by informing the poor of their rights to welfare assistance, encouraging them to apply for benefits and, in effect, overloading an already overburdened bureaucracy."[3]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloward%E2%80%93Piven_strategy

what better way to overwhelm and collapse the system than making tens of millions of American's completely dependent upon it by intentionally and maliciously destroying their livelihood's on the basis of telling the greatest lie ever told?

it's brilliant and it's cynical and it's EVIL.

from the "you should've minded your own fucking business" files:

An Ocean Shores man said he was attacked for confronting two men for not wearing masks, and now he’s worried police are not properly investigating the case.

Daniel Troublefield, 43, said he was at the Ocean Shores IGA Sunday night when he called someone out for not wearing a mask. Inside the store, he said the conversation turned heated, But he thought that was the end of it. However, he was not expecting what happened once he walked outside.

“I curled up in the fetal position and I was just ready to die,” said Troublefield.

He shared this surveillance video with KIRO 7 News, which he got from the neighboring drug store. The video shows him in the parking lot walking out to his white car, but he walks past it as he was taunted by the maskless men.

“They kept berating me with expletives, calling me a snowflake and it’s not science, it’s a hoax,” Troublefield recalled.

Looking back, Daniel said he wishes he ignored them.

“To my regret I walked up to the car. I was trying to explain it is science and you should be wearing a mask because you’re endangering me and everyone else in the store by not having a mask on,” Troublefield said.

That’s when things escalated even further.

“The gentleman tapped on my chest. And I flipped up his hat, and that’s when they both got out of the car,” Troublefield explained.

The video’s quality isn’t great, but you can see someone is thrown to the ground.

“One grabbed me by the neck in a chokehold and got me down to the ground. And before I knew it, I was getting my face pummeled with fists,” Troublefield explained.

The beating lasted about 20 seconds. The men took off and now he’s worried they’re going to get away and he won’t get justice.

Jared Kushner scores late-term wins for Israel, upending expections

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The United Arab Emirates is getting top-of-the-line fighter jets. Morocco is winning recognition for decades-old territorial claims. And Sudan is coming off the US terrorism blacklist.

The Arab nations are suddenly achieving long-sought goals after agreeing to normalize ties with Israel, in a last-minute triumph for the unorthodox diplomacy of outgoing US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Widely mocked for more than three years as a boyish lightweight, who was best known for his famous wife, troubled property deals and his father’s stint in prison, Kushner is scoring historic breakthroughs lauded by Trump’s base with four Arab nations since September joining the so-called Abraham Accords with Israel.

President Trump took a contrarian approach,” Kushner told reporters Thursday as he announced the latest deal, with Morocco, saying that the Arab-Israeli conflict “has been held back for so long by old thinking and by stalled process.”

Veterans of Middle East diplomacy agree that Kushner moved nimbly after the United Arab Emirates first signaled its willingness to recognize Israel.

“He had the authority; he was smart enough to develop personalized relations. I think he clearly deserves some credit for taking advantage of what the landscape showed was possible,” said Dennis Ross, who served as Bill Clinton’s Middle East envoy.

Kushner, a family friend of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, broke decades of US norms on Middle East peacemaking by barely making a pretense of being evenhanded with the Palestinians.

The picture shows Loeffler smiling beside ring-wing activist Chester Doles. It was reportedly posted to Doles’ social media on Saturday with the caption “Kelly Loeffler and I. Save America, stop Socialism.”

Doles, who was a leader in the Ku Klux Klan, is a convicted felon with ties to several white supremacist groups, although he claims his current “American Patriots USA” group is free of racism.

“In 1993, Doles nearly beat a Black man to death. In 2017, he marched in Charlottesville,” wrote Jewish activism group Bend the Arc in a Saturday night tweet with the picture of Doles and Loeffler. “This is who Kelly Loeffler is proudly appealing to.”

Miryam Lipper, the communications director of Jon Ossoff, who is running against Georgia Senator David Perdue, tweeted “This is Georgia’s GOP” on Sunday in response to the photo.

Political and sports commentator Keith Olbermann also criticized Loeffler in a tweet Sunday, writing, “This should be a problem for the Kelly Loeffler campaign, but it’s hard to say right now.”

“But it must be enough for the NBA and WNBA to force her out of the part ownership of the Atlanta team,” Olbermann continued. “Association with overt racists cannot be permitted.”

In June, Loeffler, who owns 49% of women’s basketball team The Atlanta Dream, called armed Black protesters in Atlanta “mob rule” on a Fox News segment posted to the Georgia senator’s Twitter account, which resulted in backlash from multiple WNBA players.

After the WNBA announced its 2020 season would be dedicated to social justice, Loeffler reportedly sent a letter to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert objecting to the league’s plan to honor the Black Lives Matter movement, according to Forbes.

And Warnock might as well be Rev Wright, I dislike both gas bags

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Doesn't sound like Rev. Wright to me:

From Wikipedia:
Raphael Gamaliel Warnock (born July 23, 1969) is an American pastor and politician. He has been the senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta since 2005. Warnock came to prominence in Georgia politics as a leader in the campaign to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. A member of the Democratic Party, he is running in the 2020 U.S. Senate special election in Georgia for the seat now held by Kelly Loeffler.

Early life and education
Warnock is from Savannah, Georgia. He grew up in public housing as the eleventh of twelve children born to Verlene and Jonathan Warnock, both Pentecostal pastors. His father served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he learned automobile mechanics and welding and subsequently opened a small car restoration business where he restored junked cars for resale.

Warnock graduated from Sol C. Johnson High School and, having wanted to follow in the footsteps of Martin Luther King Jr., attended Morehouse College, where he earned a B.A. in psychology. He credits his participation in the Upward Bound program for making him college-ready, as he was able to enroll in early college courses through Savannah State University. He then earned a Master of Divinity, Master of Philosophy, and Doctor of Philosophy from Union Theological Seminary, a school affiliated with Columbia University.

Religious work
In the 1990s, Warnock served as the youth pastor and then assistant pastor at Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York.

In 2002, while senior pastor at Douglas Memorial Community Church in Baltimore, Maryland, Warnock and an assistant minister were charged with obstructing a police investigation into suspected child abuse at a church-run camp in Carroll County, Maryland. Warnock said the alleged abuse was not sexual and denied any wrongdoing in trying to prevent a state trooper from interviewing counselors. He said he was only asserting that lawyers should be present during the interviews. Warnock said that he had intervened to ensure that an adult was present while a juvenile suspect was being questioned. Police dropped the charges against Warnock, and the deputy state's attorney acknowledged that it had been a "miscommunication", adding that Warnock had aided the investigation.

In 2005, Warnock became senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, Martin Luther King Jr.'s former congregation; he is the fifth and the youngest person to serve as Ebenezer's senior pastor since its founding.

As pastor, Warnock advocated for clemency for Troy Davis, who was executed in 2011. In 2013, he delivered the benediction at the public prayer service at the second inauguration of Barack Obama. In March 2019, Warnock hosted an interfaith meeting on climate change at his church, featuring Al Gore and William Barber II.

Politics
Warnock came to prominence in Georgia politics as a leader in the campaign to expand Medicaid in the state. In March 2014, Warnock led a sit-in at the Georgia State Capitol to press state legislators to accept the expansion of Medicaid offered by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. He and other leaders were arrested during the protest. In 2015, Warnock considered running in the 2016 election for the United States Senate seat held by Johnny Isakson as a member of the Democratic Party. He opted not to run.

From June 2017 to January 2020, Warnock chaired the New Georgia Project, a nonpartisan organization focused on voter registration.

Warnock supports expanding the Affordable Care Act and has called for the passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. A proponent of abortion rights and gay marriage, he has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood. He opposes the concealed carry of firearms, saying that religious leaders do not want guns in places of worship.

Personal life
Warnock married Oulèye Ndoye in a public ceremony on February 14, 2016; the couple had held a private ceremony in January. They have two children. The couple separated in November 2019. Their divorce was finalized in 2020, before the November 3 general election.

Fox News helped Democrats steal the election. "They were going for everything. They were going to take everything we had. Why do you think Fox declared Arizona with only 14 percent of the vote in? They already knew what they did! They were in on it!

Fox joined the deep state conspiracy!

I didn't know a great deal about Warnock, but it sure looks like he's not much like Rev. Wright.

So now that I've put that much information before you, maybe you'd like to tell us what's so bad about the man.

Or are you not only too "stupid" but ALSO too wrong and dishonest to engage when you're faced with factual information?

States Prepare for Pandemic-Era Electoral College
8:35 pm
“Tomorrow, state electors who’ll finally cast their Electoral College votes formalizing Joe Biden’s win, will gather in person at state capitols across the U.S., even during a pandemic,” Axios reports.

“Capitol compounds already provide security. But fear of unrest is heightening precautions.* Meanwhile, states including California, Wisconsin, Maryland and New Mexico are live-streaming meetings so the public can watch safely from home.”

Covid stupidity is bipartisan

In the midst of scratching their heads over Governor Mike DeWine’s (R) Dec. 7 extension of his bizarre, unconstitutional “curfew” to guard against a virus that, evidently, becomes more deadly after 10 pm and before 5 am, Ohio residents might have missed the bizarre “high school sports” edict issued on Dec. 4…

That’s the command that high school wrestlers are “permitted” to wrestle, but before and after the match, participants are...

the 0linsky 'green' grift continues, and everything liberalism touches, dies... -

Move over, Solyndra. Another green boondoggle from the Obama era has failed, and taxpayers are out as much as $510 million. Late last week Judge Karen Owens approved a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization by Tonopah Solar Energy. Tonopah operated the Crescent Dunes solar plant in Nevada that received $737 million in guaranteed loans from the Obama Administration.

The plan includes a settlement with the Department of Energy that leaves taxpayers liable for as much as $234.68 million in outstanding debt, but the total public cost is even higher. Crescent Dunes also received an investment-tax credit, and the 2009 stimulus legislation allowed it to receive a cash payment in lieu of credit. In 2017 the plant received more than $275.6 million from Treasury under the Section 1603 program, which it used to service its outstanding liabilities. So taxpayers already gave Crescent Dunes cash to pay off its taxpayer-backed loans.

This is one more cautionary tale in climate subsidies. The sun doesn’t deliver power when it’s cloudy or dark. Crescent Dunes promised to solve this problem by using molten salt to retain the heat from the sun and produce steam, so the plant would generate power 24/7. . . .

DOE expected Crescent Dunes to produce up to 482,000 megawatt hours every year, but the plant hasn’t produced that much energy in its lifetime. In 2019 Crescent Dunes’s hot salt tanks suffered what partial owner SolarReserve described as “a catastrophic failure” that has left the plant inoperable.

The feds called Crescent Dunes a success until forced to admit it was a failure. As late as April 2017—when the plant was in the throes of a months-long shutdown—DOE pronounced it a “milestone for the country’s energy future” and a “success story” taken from “mirage to reality.” But in August spokeswoman Shaylyn Hynes admitted that “this project has consistently faced technical failures that have proven difficult to overcome.”

the steal is ON:

Abrams said, “Democrats are prepared to win this election. This is the first runoff where we have the level of investment and engagement that it takes to win a runoff. We know from the numbers we are in a good place. 1.2 million absentee ballots have been requested thus far, and just to put that into context, 1.3 million were requested for all of the general election. Of that 1.2 million, 85,000 of those applications are from voters who does not vote in the general election and disproportionately between 18 and 29 and disproportionately people of color. That signals that we understand that we may need to make a plan to vote and deliver this election.”

i had always figured that someday we would reach the point where our elections became hopelessly corrupt and devoid of all integrity. what i did not expect is that it would happen in my lifetime.

everything a liberal touches, dies:

“I’m watching AOC selling ‘tax the rich T-shirts’ for $58 while businesses are leaving New York. That’s AOC’s solution. Who is going to pay $58 for a T-shirt when you’re out of a job?” Benaim said.

An alternative project called “Your LIC” that included residential-commercial towers at the site was also recently shot down amid not-in-my-backyard opposition and lack of support from City Hall. The plan claimed it would create 26,000 jobs, open space and cultural amenities.

The Your LIC consortium included manufacturer Plaxall, the major property owner on the waterfront site along with the City of New York.

It wasn’t to be.

“Their plans weren’t going to offer enough benefits to the community, and we’re not going to let private developers ignore their obligations to New Yorkers,” said Mitchell Schwartz, a spokesman for Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Drimer directed her fury at the local pols for letting down the neighborhood.

“AOC, Giannaris, Van Bramer [local councilman Jimmy] — wake up!” she said. “People are leaving. Businesses are closing.”

Gianna Cerbone, owner of Manducatis Rustica restaurant, whose family has deep roots in LIC, said “delusional” Democratic Socialists and anti-gentrifiers have hijacked Western Queens — and not for the better.

“I’m angry at the stupidity. Everybody fears AOC, who has no idea what she’s doing. Opposing Amazon benefitted other communities. Imagine if AOC did something positive with her big mouth,” Cerbone said.

She said Sen. Gianaris, whom she’s known for years, was the most surprising betrayal.

“I believed in Gianaris. Mike believed in the community until he went so far up AOC’s ass she couldn’t s–t him out,” the salty restaurateur said.

Bishop Mitchell Taylor, pastor of the Center of Hope International Church near the Queensbridge Houses, said the Amazon debacle followed by the pandemic is a double whammy to LIC’s poorest residents.

“It’s like we’re living in the 1970s. Things are worse for poor people now,” Rev. Taylor said.
