Biden sends troops to sleep in parking garage?

Can anyone justify this one?

First he decides to vet each one as to whether or not they might be political enemies, not to be trusted because of politics. Then once they have done their duty of protecting the President against a fake threat, they are sent to bed without power or bathroom facilities. Nice, huh? What sort of "President" does this to the troops who were there to protect him?

The national guard troops were sent to Washington DC because your President incited an insurrection against the Constitution, they didn't have enough time to prepare for this bullshit that you denied

no alky,

the troops were sent as a blatant and over the top over reaction to a fucking panty raid.

time to prepare? are troops are always prepared for deployments such as this. and worse.

everything about this deployment was a complete bullshit show of force to intimidate the 74 MILLION+ who reject this drooling fuck.

iow, it was ALL for show.

"insurrection against the Constitution." "worse than 9/11."

LOL.

I was not aware that it was Biden who "decided" to vet each soldier. Please give us the source for that. I thought that was a decision* of our military leaders.

*It was a good decision, by the way, because a few were found to be too dangerous to guard our legally elected President because they were connected to fanatic groups who question that.

Scott is swatting at flies.

A panty raid on January 6th they attacked the Capitol building with the intent to hang Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi.

Legally it was an Insurrection.

How many people in America think the Capitol invasion was equivalent to a panty raid?

There is only one:

rat

Seriously, he is getting worse every day.

He used to be a rational Republican/ libertarian person.

But since Trump won, he's been getting irrational.

He's a well educated guy.

Swatting at flies is a perfect description.

INDICATIONS OF A NEW DAY:

Lloyd Austin Confirmed as Defense Secretary
11:17 am
The Senate confirmed retired Gen. Lloyd Austin to lead Pentagon, making him the nation’s first Black secretary of defense, the AP reports.

Only two Senators voted against Austin’s nomination; 93 Senators voted to confirm, an overwhelmingly BIPARTISAN margin.

Mealy mouth Mitch wants to complain that the President (the ex one) will not have time to gather witnesses.

No need. All America were witnesses.

I'm sure it was some low level staffer who sent them to the parking garage. Right gentlemen?

Hall of Famer and longtime home run king Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron died Friday morning, his daughter confirmed to WSB-TV in Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves legend was 86.

Aaron, a 25-time All-Star, played in MLB from 1954-76 almost entirely with the Braves organization first in Milwaukee and then in Atlanta. In 1957 he led the organization to their first World Series pennant since 1914. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1982.

Roger actually supports sending Troops to sleep in a Parking garage and somehow manages (in his feeble mind) to blame Trump.

What an asswipe.

Sure Roger...

You support making troops sleep in a garage with no bathrooms. But I am the one who has "lost my mind" huh?

Boy, that will be a long trial.

So then we should see some conspiracy to commit murder charges coming, huh Roger? Is that your argument?

WaPo:
When Mr. Aaron began playing in the minor leagues, it marked the first time that he had shared the field with White players. When the Braves assigned him to a team in Jacksonville, Fla., in the South Atlantic (or Sally) League, he heard steady taunts from White spectators throughout the South.

After he reached the major leagues in Milwaukee in 1954, Mr. Aaron quietly allied himself with the burgeoning civil rights movement. He campaigned for then-Sen. John F. Kennedy (D-Mass.) in Milwaukee in 1960 and was credited with helping the Democratic candidate win the Wisconsin presidential primary.

In 1966, at the height of the civil rights movement, the Braves moved to Atlanta, worrying Mr. Aaron. “I have lived in the South, and I don’t want to live there again,” he said. “We can go anywhere in Milwaukee. I don’t know what would happen in Atlanta.”

He was the biggest star on a team representing the heart of the old South and became as recognizable in Atlanta as another of the city’s residents, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Henry had never considered himself as important a historical figure as Jackie Robinson,” sports journalist Howard Bryant wrote in “The Last Hero,” a 2010 biography of Mr. Aaron, “and yet by twice integrating the South — first in the Sally League and later as the first Black star on the first major league team in the South (during the apex of the civil rights movement, no less) — his road in many ways was no less lonely, and in other ways far more difficult.”

The Military Times reported

I want to assure everyone that, with the exception of specific times on Inauguration Day itself while the swearing-in ceremonies were underway, the United States Capitol police did not instruct the National Guard to vacate the Capitol Building facilities,” Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman posted on the department’s website Friday morning. “And on Inauguration Day, the Guard was notified and encouraged to reoccupy the spaces in the Capitol and CVC at 2 p.m.”

Pittman’s statement appears to contradict what National Guard officials said Thursday evening.

Thursday evening, after National Guard troops began complaining about being moved out of the Capitol complex to the parking garage of the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Office Building, the National Guard Bureau said the move was the result of a request from Capitol Police.

“As Congress is in session and increased foot traffic and business is being conducted, Capitol Police asked the troops to move their rest area,” the National Guard Bureau statement read. “They were temporarily relocated to the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Center garage with heat and restroom facilities. We remain an agile and flexible force to provide for the safety and security of the Capitol and its surrounding areas.”

National Guard Bureau spokesman Wayne Hall said the move was made without the knowledge of lawmakers.

They were deployed to protect the inauguration from right wing terrorists, who had shouted Hang Mike Pence

An Insurrection, that even Moscow Mitch said it was an attempted Insurrection.

Scott, they were deployed because the ex President directly instructed them to go to the Capitol building.

no it wasn't.

Shit

The National Guard has struggled to implement a plan to test troops flowing into and out of Washington, D.C., for Covid-19, with some Guard members being forced to find their own tests and others pressured to leave their quarantine early to report to duty.

Already, hundreds of Guard members who poured into Washington, D.C., after the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol have tested positive for Covid-19 or are quarantining in nearby hotels, three Guard sources said. Guard leadership has declined to release an official number of positive cases, but troops and lawmakers alike worry that the deployment is becoming a superspreader event.

“Ideally, these guys should all be in hotels. When they’re taking rest time, they should be taking it outside the campus with an ability to be separated and socially distanced,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) said. “Ultimately we’ve got to make sure that they’re not taking their extended rest time on campus, that they’re in hotel rooms.”

The problem was compounded on Thursday night, when thousands of troops who had been standing duty in the U.S. Capitol were told to vacate congressional buildings and take their rest breaks outside and in nearby parking garages. POLITICO obtained photos of Guard members packed together and sleeping on the ground in the garages. One unit was forced to rest in a garage with only one bathroom available for 5,000 troops.

The Senate Rules Committee is investigating the issue, with a particular focus on concerns about the Guard implementing proper coronavirus precautions, Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt, the top Republican on that panel, told POLITICO. The decision to force thousands of troops into a packed parking garage created a Covid-19 hazard, senators said.

“I think we’ve got to figure out what went wrong because I think there’s going to be a National Guard presence on campus for the foreseeable future,” Murphy added.
