Twitter, Facebook Lose $51.2 Billion in Combined Market Value Since Purging Conservatives Last Week

LOLGF.

Social media giants Facebook and Twitter have collectively seen $51.2 billion in combined market value wiped out over the last two trading sessions since they banned President Donald Trump from their platforms following the U.S. Capitol breach.

Large tech firms and a number Democratic political figures have claimed Trump incited violence at the U.S. Capitol last week. The incident disrupted debates in both the House and Senate as lawmakers were forced to shelter in place while police and security attempted to seize back control.

And right now, lawyers are scanning prior declarations by Dorsey and Zuckerberg about their censorship policies, and planning shareholder suits due to big losses in stock price based on false claims made by Dorsey and Zuckerberg.

Any stockholders who lost money, arguably due to reliance on their false representations, can sue the companies.

I'd really like to hear from those self-identified "conservatives" in Conservative, Inc. who still think that corporations are our frenz.

Or are they still claiming to be conservatives? Are they nearly ready to admit what they are, pro-monopoly social liberals and staunch defenders of the political elite's right to rule?

Donald J. Trump is the first President to have been impeached twice.............

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrn in history.

Your grandchildren will learn that people like you enabled him to attempt to overthrow the Constitution of the United States of America.

The American experience faced the greatest threat in history, and it will survive Donald Trump and his enablers.

You are a very intelligent and educated person, but for reasons I will never know, you supported the most dangerous situation in history.

and do not forget that our denture sucking speaker of the house openly attempted a military coup against the commander in chief.

@MZHemingway

Congressional approval at 15% according to Gallup. 60% in another poll say impeachment is a waste of $/time. 77% wish Congress were working on Coronavirus, not impeachment. And 80% of GOP voters in battleground states say they'd be less likely to vote GOP who support impeachment.

fuck actually running the country. it was more important to rehabilitate the reputation of the guy who was spy-fucking fang fang by making him an impeachment manager.

LOL.

The Insurrection timeline. Insurrection is treason, a high crime or misdemeanor.

Dec. 19, 2020: Trump tweets: “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!”

Jan. 3, 2021: Replying to a tweet from one of the rally organizers, Trump tweets: “I will be there. Historic day.”

Jan. 4: The National Park Service increases the crowd estimate on the January 6 rally permit to 30,000 – up from the original 5,000 in December.

*Jan. 5: Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) receives a call from White House Political Director Brian Jack asking him to speak at the “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6. Brooks agrees.

January 6, 2021

8:17 a.m.:
Trump tweets: “States want to correct their votes, which they now know were based on irregularities and fraud, plus corrupt process never received legislative approval. All Mike Pence has to do is send them back to the States, AND WE WIN. Do it Mike, this is a time for extreme courage!”

Noon: Trump begins to address the mob and continues speaking for more than 90 minutes.

“We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.”“We won this election, and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election.”“I hope Mike is going to do the right thing. I hope so. I hope so, because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election. All Vice President Pence has to do is send it back to the states to recertify, and we become president, and you are the happiest people.”

1:00 p.m.: While Trump continues his rant to the mob, some members of Trump’s crowd have already reached the US Capitol building where Congress assembles in joint session to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. An initial wave of protesters storms the outer barricade west of the Capitol building. As the congressional proceedings begin, Pence reads a letter saying that he won’t intervene in Congress’s electoral count: “My oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority.”

1:10 p.m.: Trump ends his speech by urging his followers to march down Pennsylvania Avenue. “We’re going to the Capitol. We’re going to try and give them [Republicans] the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country…  If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

The Attack

If the District of Columbia were a state, its governor alone could have deployed the National Guard to crush the riot. Instead, Trump and his Defense Department had that responsibility, and an unprecedent assault on a sacred institution of government succeeded, if only for a few hours.

(DoD Memo) 1:26 p.m.: The Capitol Police orders the evacuation of the Capitol complex.

1:30 p.m.: The crowd outside the building grows larger, eventually overtaking the Capitol Police and making its way up the Capitol steps. Suspicious packages – later confirmed to be pipe bombs – are found at Republican National Committee headquarters and Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington.

The GOP has to escape Trumpism.

WHAT! TEASON! BURN HER AT THE STAKE!

Oh, wait.. You mean when she checked with the high heads of the military command to see if Trump could unilaterally launch a nuclear strike just for the insane hope that might work to keep him in power... you mean that.

Whatever they privately assured her seems to have worked, for she seems reassured THAT would not be allowed to happen.
______

Something similar happened regarding Nixon when, on the verge of impeachment, he started wandering around in the White House talking to portraits on the wall...

Both Republican Senators from my home state are real patriots and conservative Republicans. One of the made me feel proud of South Dakota!
South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds says Trump could be criminally prosecuted for his role in the 'insurrection'

U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds, a South Dakota Republican, joined a growing bipartisan chorus repudiating President Donald Trump's role in inciting a mob that invaded the Capitol a week ago. But the senator stopped short of signaling he'd support the impeachment article introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives, calling the action "moot" as the Senate is not scheduled to reconvene in Washington, D.C., until a day before the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

I still don't think that they will convict Trump.

When the history of the horror story President I suspect the same thing is happening today

Defense Secretary James R. Schlesinger and the Joint Chiefs of Staff kept unusually close control over lines of command, in the last days of the Nixon Administration to insure that no unauthorized orders were given to military units by the White House.

A senior Pentagon official said today that the decision to monifor closely all orders from any source was taken by Mr. Schlesinger, in consultation with Gen. George S. Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to prevent any of a series of hypothetical situations from develoing.

History will read much like pat Buchanan's comment that impeaching Trump this week was like rushing to hang a man who was dying tomorrow.

History will reflect Pelosi ad the most hateful, partisan, obsessed, worst speaker in history.

U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds

Mike Rounds is making the same argument that many are making. That Impeachment of a President that is no longer in office is a waste of time and likely unconstitutional.

I haven't seen Rounds argue that Trump would "be" convicted of any crimes, just that the proper recourse at this point would not be to "impeach him". Frankly I believe Rounds is making a fairly significant break from the people who elected him by providing opinions that are not backed up by fact. He would be better off just sticking to his statement that he would not support the impeachment.

POOR TRUMP.
NOBODY WILL DEFEND HIM EXCEPT YOU CHTRUTHER DUMMIES:

Trump Struggles to Find Lawyers for Impeachment Trial
2:26 pm
“President Trump, on the eve of facing a historic second impeachment trial for inciting the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol last week, is having trouble finding a legal team to defend him,” Bloomberg reports.

“Allies of the outgoing president have been canvassing Washington’s legal landscape looking for representation but so far are coming up short. Lawyers who defended him in the previous impeachment trial, including Jay Sekulow and White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, have said no this time.

“Other lawyers who have defended Trump at times, including former Florida attorney general Pam Bondi, Eric Herschmann, Pat Philbin and Marc Kasowitz aren’t interested in joining a team this time, the people said. Some of the lawyers who don’t want a role HAVE PRIVATELY SAID WHAT TRUMP DID WAS INDEFENSIBLE.
________

Oh how can they SAY that? Scott has told us what Trump did is EMMINENTLY defensible!

Scott says so. So does Trump.

________

Oh, and by the way, Scott, notice that Trump DOES seem to think that some sort of an impeachment trial really IS going to take place, sometime, somewhere.

Do you guess his lawyers (the few that he still has left) are telling him THAT much? Do you suppose someone knows more than you do?

no, i mean when she confronted the chair of the joint chiefs about stripping the nuke codes from Trump, and he reminded her that as long as Trump is commander in chief she can pound fucking sand.

that little episode played well with our enemies and allies alike.
