So... Did Biden and Democrats already lied to everyone?

 Are we going to see a $2000 check as promised?

Exit polling in the Georgia runoffs made it clear that the $2000 check lie was a top (if not the top) reason why swing voters went for Ossoff and Warnock over Perdue and Loeffler. There was even a small percentage of voters who literally changed their vote from November to January over this particular issue. Likely more than enough to flip these two seats.

 The Democrats offered two things (both dishonest). 

• One was that Perdue and Loeffler were responsible for holding up the Covid relief and were against providing larger payments to individuals. As it was, the relief bill was held up by Pelosi and the House, and she admitted much. Moreover, both Republicans made public statements agreeing with Trump in regards to $2000 versus $600 and said they would vote for such a proposal if provided the opportunity.
• The other was that if the Democrats won control of the Senate, the first thing they would do is make sure every American got a brand spanking new $2000 check. This was piggybacked on the previous lie that Perdue and Loeffler were personally against such a proposal, which suggested that a vote for the Republican was a vote "against" a $2000 payment.  

Either way, this was certainly a pretty obvious attempt to buy an election. Vote for me and I will give you $2000 that my opponent will not. So whether you look at it as buying votes or lying to get votes, the result is going to be the same.

So now that a bill has been offered (and one suspects that Ossoff and Warnock will be on board with it) there apparently is not a $2000 check proposal. The bill will include a $1400 payment, which brings the total to $2000 when added to the previous $600 payment. Moreover, rather than provide that additional $600, the bill provides a myriad of unrelated to Covid liberal pork. If you really want to spend $2 trillion, then you would think you could afford the full $2000.

Now for those of us who are skeptical about politicians and have a tendency to see possible loopholes in their various promises, this really doesn't come as much of a shock. In fact, it almost makes sense if you will yourself to believe so. When Trump first called for $2000, he wasn't suggesting another $2000 on top of the $600 already offered. He was suggesting that the amount be raised by that $1400 to make it $2000. Adding $1400 to the previous $600 would provide for the Trump proposal. 

But that is not what Ossoff and Warnock promised voters in Georgia. They did not promise that if you voted for them, that you would get a new $1400 payment to make up the difference. They promised that if you voted for them, that you would get $2000. Apparently this was very specifically pushed, even by volunteers of Ossoff and Warnock, who now appear upset because they felt like they personally lied to voters. 

Off to a great start. Lying Biden, lying Schumer, and lying Pelosi lied about providing us all with new $2000 payouts. I wonder if anyone will step up and try to make them reconsider?
