The mice just keep on playing....

India: Pro-Iranian Terrorist Group Takes Responsibility for Friday’s Israel Embassy Blast

An online message reportedly posted by the jihadi group said: “By the grace and help of Almighty Allah, soldiers of Jaish-Ul-Hind were able to infiltrate a high-security area in Delhi and carry out an IED attack. This Allah willing is the beginning of a series of attacks that would target major Indian cities and payback in kind to the atrocities committed by the Indian state.”

Indian investigators also recovered a letter at the scene claiming the blast to be a revenge for the death of Qassem Soleimani, the top Iranian terrorist mastermind who was killed in a January 2020 U.S. drone strike outside Baghdad. The note also mentions Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the man known as “the father of the Iranian bomb,” who was gunned down last November near Tehran. Fakhrizadeh was a high-ranking member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a U.S. designated terrorist group.

So why wait for over a year to retaliate for a 2020 US Drone strike? Why not retaliate while the people responsible for assassinating's a terrorist were still in power? Could it be that they prefer to take advantage of a 78 year old codger who's "handlers" are putting a lid on his days sometime between lunch and his afternoon nap?

Biden has only been President for a few days and already we have unrest in the former Soviet States, regions around China, and the Middle East. But have no worries. Biden has a plan, that will include an executive order that requires all foreign terrorists to officially recognize all 52 genders, make sure that 30% of all terror acts are carried out by minorities, as well as a mandate for all terrorist to wear two masks while committing their acts of terror.

Joe Biden will make sure that all Terror acts are committed in the most woke fashion possible.

“For Mr. McConnell, the path to reclaiming the majority decidedly does not go through Mr. Trump. “He was puzzled by Mr. McCarthy’s trek to see Mr. Trump this week because he fears a Trump-dominated party will lead to DISASTER in party primaries and LOSSES in key Senate races like those in Pennsylvania and Arizona.”>

SALENA ZITO:

Biden’s climate executive orders devastated these US workers in a day.

On the morning of Jan. 20, every room of the two-story Stroppel Hotel in Midland, SD, was filled with men and women who work on the Keystone XL pipeline. Most of these union laborers, welders and pipefitters started their day over a cup of coffee in the hotel’s common room before heading out to their jobs.

By 4 p.m., the entire place was cleared out, leaving the historic hotel silent for the first time since owners Laurie and Wally Cox took it over six months ago.

“Our whole world turned upside down with the stroke of a pen,” Laurie said.

She is speaking of President Biden’s executive order, signed on his first day in office, that halted work on the Keystone XL pipeline in South Dakota and immediately eliminated 1,000 union jobs. TC Energy, the company that was developing the project, predicts that more than 10,000 jobs will be lost in 2021 due to the order.

Now Laurie, who holds a master’s degree in social work, sits alone in the vacant hotel while her husband Wally finds work as a millwright hours away. She starts to cry as she recalls how they bought the building in late September and quickly turned it into an affordable and social place for pipeline workers to stay.

Just get different jobs, say the Democrats busy destroying them.

WHY THE GOP IS IN TROUBLE PART 378

Why Trump’s Lawyers Quit

11:42 am
“A person familiar with the departures told CNN that Trump wanted the attorneys to argue there was mass election fraud and that the election was stolen from him rather than focus on the legality of convicting a president after he’s left office. Trump was not receptive to the discussions about how they should proceed in that regard.”

Playbook:
“This presents a serious conundrum for the Senate: They have to give Trump due process, but if he goes out and hires attorneys to make the arguments he wants, the chamber could find itself giving a platform to the very conspiracy theories that led to the deadly Jan. 6 riot.”
______

No wonder Trump's lawyers quickly jumped ship.
But as Mitch points out, the GOP is being too stupid to do that.

Fauci Spins His Handy 'Wheel Of Science' To See What He Should Recommend Today

WASHINGTON, DC—In a development no one saw coming, Dr. Anthony Fauci has again changed his recommendation about what to do with masks by consulting his tested and proven "Wheel of SCIENCE."

“Now I know it confuses people when the science changes so quickly, as if we are just making all this up as we go along,” explained Dr. Fauci from his bunker full of neckties. “That’s why I developed this handy 'Wheel of SCIENCE' for us to spin every morning, so people can really see that this isn’t just me saying whatever pops into my head!"

"Now-- let's give this puppy a spin!" he exclaimed as he gave the wheel a mighty turn.

“What will it be today, gang?” asked a giddy Dr. Fauci. "'Masks Cause Bladder Cancer?' 'Eating Dirt Prevents Halitosis?' hmmm..."

The dial slowed, clicking just past "Cover Your Kids With Grocery Bags" and finally came to rest on: "Attach A Live Octopus Directly To Your Face."

“There it is, folks! Science has proven that the best way to prevent COVID transmission is to affix a live octopus directly over your mouth, nose, and probably eyes. I’ve been keeping this little guy here for this very moment,” said Dr. Fauci, reaching into an aquarium and plastering the surprised sea creature’s tentacles directly onto his face.

“AAAA!!! AAA!!! THE—mmrghh—INK!! AAA!!!” screamed Dr. Fauci as he thrashed on the floor. The journalists watching on Zoom stared in shock, then went straight to work spreading the news of Dr. Fauci’s latest advice to the masses.

The government media channel dedicated a segment to the updated recommendation, complete with each CNN anchor hand-selecting their own octopus. After some hilarious banter about how bad other people are, Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo slapped on their respective octopi and promptly collapsed on the floor into heaps of screams and ink.

Still, being the professional mouthpieces that they are, they managed to garble out, “THIS IS—AGHH!—WORKING PERFECTLY!! DON’T KILL GRANDMA!!!”

9 Great New Jobs For Laid-Off Oil And Gas Workers

President Biden is doing a great job getting rid of evil sources of energy like coal and gas, and replacing them with good energy-- like wind, solar, and baby unicorn whispers. Unfortunately, it seems that some of you may have lost your jobs as a result. Never fear! Biden has promised to replace your jobs with much better jobs that don't make Mother Gaia cry.

Here are 9 exciting new opportunities for laid-off oil and gas workers:

#1 Installing urinals in girls' bathrooms - There are over 120 million buildings in the US. That's 120 million girls' bathrooms that will need a new urinal installed for the sake of equality. Not bad!

#2 Trumpet boy for Biden’s royal decrees - Biden's executive orders just seem a little more special with a trumpet boy out front heralding the coming of a new decree! Whitehouse.gov recently posted an opening for this position. Get on it!

#3 Elementary school teacher in Chicago - There's nothing nobler than working for the education of a child. Well-- we don’t mean work, we mean get paid by the government just for existing. Not a bad gig.

#4 Carry buckets of oil up and down the Continental United States on foot - The Keystone XL pipeline may be gone, but that oil has to get to its destination somehow, Jack! There are thousands of new positions opening up for people to carry oil across the country, balanced on their heads, like tribal natives after fetching water at the village well. Start practicing now!

#5 Take that job at McDonald’s - Might as well. At this rate, the minimum wage will be $45 an hour by the years' end.

#6 Open a GameStop - It's the wave of the future!

#7 Go back in time and buy bitcoin - Just do it. Get off your butt, build a time machine, and buy some Bitcoin in 2009. Accomplish something for once!

#8 Replace all your body parts with cyborg implants and become an Amazon drone - Helicopter arms!!! Literally no downside to this.

#9 Become a youth pastor - Hardly any work required.

Hang in there, bucko! There's plenty of opportunity out there!

Kevin Drum. I have been reading him since he was Calpit.

Today is my last full day at Mother Jones, although I’ll be around for the rest of the weekend and blogging as the mood hits me. With that in mind, I want to outline my take on what’s wrong with politics in the US these days. I’ve gone over the details of each of these points before, and I have a half-written long version of this as well. For now, though, I want to present it in the simplest, clearest possible way.

My goal here is not really to convince you I’m right. It’s just to get you thinking. Here it is:

In material terms, the United States is in pretty good shape. Incomes are up; crime is down; financial satisfaction is high; and overall happiness is stable. This does not mean we have no problems. It merely means that our problems are not any worse than they’ve ever been.Democracy is in pretty good shape too. The Trump insurrection was scary, but it was a one-off. Overall, elections are held normally; voter turnout is stable; Black turnout is up; we have greater diversity in Congress; and the attempt to challenge the 2020 election was a dismal failure.Much of the distress over politics is due to the fact that the country has been stuck in a 50-50 pattern for so long. This kind of endless trench warfare irritates everyone. But it’s not a sign of instability. It’s just a sign that neither party has done a very good job of building a large and durable majority. It’s also a sign that few people are terrifically unhappy over our current situation.Nevertheless, what fundamentally defines modern politics is that we’re all scared. That is, we’re scared of the other party. Why?It isn’t because we’re more prone to conspiracy theories these days. The evidence suggests that belief in conspiracy theories has been fairly stable since the 1960s. Nor is it because of social media. This fear goes back to at least the year 2000, far before social media had any impact. And obviously it isn’t because the US is facing ruin. We aren’t.The reason is simple: Fox News. Newt Gingrich may have been the original prophet of fear, but it was Fox News that executed his vision and then gained a national following in the early 2000s. Fox broadcasts are dedicated almost exclusively to scaring the hell out of their audience about what Democrats will do if they gain power. They will tax your money away. They will give your money to Black people. They will crush Christianity. They want government bureaucrats to control every aspect of your life. They want schools to teach your kids that gay sex is good and patriotism is bad. This is the explanation for the most fundamental question everyone should be asking about the 1/6 insurrection: what on earth scared so many people so badly that they were willing to storm the Capitol in order to keep Joe Biden from becoming president? Thecoldheartedtruth has been part of this shitstorm of false accusations.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

There are two things we can do about this culture of fear. First, liberals need to avoid going down the same rabbit hole as conservatives. We’re not close to that yet, but there’s not much question that we’ve been moving in that direction. It needs to stop.

Second, and most important, we need to mount some kind of broad, aggressive battle against Fox News. This obviously needs to be a fully private battle, and it needs to be waged in every possible way. We can boycott advertisers. We can pressure cable companies. We can air commercials that take on the fear machine. We can even compromise on some of the political positions that conservatives find most unnerving.

In general, we need to do everything we can to reduce the fear that conservatives have of liberal rule. You may think this is unfair: why should it be our responsibility to do this? But that’s politics. Our job is to win converts, and fair or not, this is the way to do it.

I don’t think a single blog post is going to convince a lot of people. Fair enough. But spend a little time thinking about this. Roll it around in your head. Compare it to other theories and you’ll find that most of them don’t really hold water. In the end, we need a no-holds-barred battle against Fox News and a massive PR campaign to persuade the conservative rank and file that Democrats don’t, in fact, want to send them off to reeducation camps. This is the only way to get American politics back on track.

Well said

A coronavirus stimulus package proposed by a group of Senate Republicans as an alternative to President Biden's would cost $600 billion and include direct payments "targeted" to families in need, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., said Sunday.

Biden unveiled his proposed $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package earlier in January. Cassidy claimed that Biden did not even try to work with his bipartisan group of senators, colloquially known as the "sweet 16."

"The President's team did not reach out to anybody in our group, either Democrat or Republican when they fashioned their proposal
," Cassidy told "Fox News Sunday." "So if you want unity, if you want bipartisanship, you ought to start with a group that's shown it's willing to work together for a common solution. They did not."

If the President and the Senate majority pass the covid-19 release bill, and they don't need any Republicans, before the middle of February we will see.

Why there’s debate

For all the heated debate about schools, the main thing keeping them closed is that the country isn’t treating reopening them as a priority, many argue. Schools have only proved to be safe with measures like mask wearing and social distancing in place, but many schools lack the money, staff and facilities needed to enforce those policies. Throughout the pandemic, others argue, lawmakers have consistently prioritized opening businesses — particularly bars and restaurants — that drive up case numbers in the local community, making it difficult for schools to reopen.

Teachers unions have also proved to be an impediment to reopening schools. Plans to resume in-person instruction in the country's three biggest school districts — New York, Los Angeles and Chicago — have been on hold because city leadership has been unable to reach a deal with local unions. Some have accused teachers of using their leverage to extract concessions at the expense of children stuck at home. Others say the unions are justified in demanding the proper safety protocols they need to stay safe. That's why we need the help

The debate over school reopenings has become deeply politicized and is rife with misinformation, which has made it difficult to have a fair conversation about the risks and benefits of bringing kids back into the classroom, some argue. It’s understandable that some teachers and parents might be hesitant to trust leaders who say schools are safe when the government has bungled so many other elements of its pandemic response, they say.

What’s next

Sleepy Joe Biden is seeking $130 billion in additional funding to help schools reopen as part of his $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package that's currently being negotiated in Congress. It’s unclear whether that money will be in the final bill if a deal between Democrats and Republicans is ultimately reached.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The QAnon-in-Chief doesn't know anything .

The $15 minimum wage is inevitable—maybe not on a national scale, but certainly in a number of states and cities, some of which are surprising.

In theory, this would be bad for fast-food chains, which sell burgers and chicken sandwiches at low prices and therefore keep frontline wages low so they can earn a profit. But you wouldn’t know that judging by comments this week from the CEO of the largest and most well-known of such chains, McDonald’s.

“As long as it’s done in a staged way and in a way that is equitable for everybody, McDonald’s will do just fine with that,” Chris Kempczinski told investors on Thursday.

If the comments are surprising, they should not be. McDonald’s has already stopped lobbying to prevent minimum wage increases.

What’s more, the push is increasingly irrelevant, at least based on the conversations we’ve had with operators. Many franchisees are already paying employees wages that get close to $15 as it is, thanks to intense competition for labor that hasn’t subsided even with millions of Americans—and some 2.5 million restaurant workers—who lost their jobs in the past several months.

As it is, 29 states have minimum wages above the current federal minimum of $7.25 per hour, according to the National Council of State Legislatures. Eight states and 40 cities are currently working toward $15 an hour. That includes Florida, whose voters in November approved a constitutional amendment calling for that state to hit $15.

Florida did this even as it voted to re-elect Donald Trump as president—the latest evidence that even conservative states and voters tend to agree that workers should get higher rates of pay.

Many cities have also approved measures to raise pay.

To be sure, a $15 minimum wage, if it gets through Congress, would be a shock to the states where there is no state-mandated minimum. Yet it’s increasingly evident that such mandates are on their way. And even if they’re not, labor market prices have already been pushing the wage into this direction.

The impact of this remains up for debate, though we roundly dismiss one key argument against it: That restaurant jobs will be replaced by things like kiosks. Technology is a good thing for the restaurant industry and its employees, certainly in the fast-food business. Technology can boost productivity and make operations easier. The restaurant industry badly needs such productivity.

In any event, the technology is happening with or without those higher wages because they are table stakes. The fast-food chains need the speed and customer touchpoints to attract consumers that are increasingly demanding them.

As for the higher wage, there is a potential benefit. Customers who get paid higher wages have more money to spend and this can influence sales, especially at fast-food chains.

LINCOLN PROJECT
Yeah, it was a REPUBLICAN PAC:

from WIKI:
Writing in The Washington Post, Jennifer Rubin said the Lincoln Project stood "head and shoulders above all the rest in the hard work of beating back President Trump and Trumpism" and wrote of the group's founders: "They made their careers helping to elect Republicans, but in the era of Trump, they have put partisanship aside in the cause of patriotism and defense of American democracy. Their ads have been the most effective and memorable of the presidential campaign, singeing Trump in a way Democrats have not quite mastered." Author and columnist Max Boot praised the Lincoln Project for "turning out brilliant videos at a relentless pace that puts most political organizations to shame" and for seeking to demolish "the Trumpified GOP" and replace it with "a sane and sober center-right party in America." Boot wrote that the Lincoln Project's founders, by "leading the charge against the Republican Party, ... have shown greater fealty to conservative principles than 99 percent of elected Republicans."

....Project co-founder Reed Galen has said some of the ads are meant for an audience of one: Trump himself. The Lincoln Project's feud with Trump enhanced its national profile, including through earned media, and the group said it raised $1.4 million after Trump's tweets responding to the May 4, 2020 Mourning in America video.

FROM WIKI:
John Weaver is an American political consultant best known for his work on the John McCain presidential campaigns of 2000 and 2008... He was also the chief strategist for the 2016 presidential campaign of Republican John Kasich....

Russia
In April 2019, Weaver signed a six-month $350,000 contract with a subsidiary of Rosatom, a Russian state corporation that specializes in nuclear energy, to lobby on “sanctions or other restrictions in the area of atomic (nuclear) energy, trade or cooperation involving in any way the Russian Federation” and submitted FARA registration form. However, after a report of the contract was published, Weaver cancelled the contract.

Online harassment allegations
In January 2021, multiple men accused Weaver of online harassment, including the sending of sexually suggestive messages tied to offers of work. The New York Times reported that one of the men Weaver sent messages to was underage when Weaver first contacted him. Weaver acknowledged having sent inappropriate sexual messages to multiple men, for which he apologized. In a statement to Axios, Weaver said, "The truth is that I'm gay and that I have a wife and two kids who I love. My inability to reconcile those two truths has led to this agonizing place."

After the allegations published by The New York Times, the Lincoln Project further distanced itself from Weaver, denouncing him as an abuser. “The totality of his deceptions are beyond anything any of us could have imagined and we are absolutely shocked and sickened by it,” the organization stated.

How virulent is the anti-white and anti-American racism of the Democrat Party? Consider this unhinged but also unchallenged statement by Vice President Kamala Harris defending the Black Lives Matters rioters whose “protests” caused billions in property damage, led to 25 deaths and injured 2000 police officers in the summer of 2020: “The reality is that the life of a black person in America has never been treated as fully human… It’s no wonder people are taking to the streets [to protest]. And I support them.”

In other words, the 44th president of the United States, the “most admired man in America” for over a decade wasn’t treated as “fully human,” or Martin Luther King – the only American with a national holiday in his honor (courtesy of President Ronald Reagan). This lunatic hatred of white America is now not only acceptable in the Democrat Party but the hateful creed of its leaders.

To be fair, there are two main areas of systemic racism in America today, but both are supported and enforced by the Democrat Party, which is why they exist. The first is the systemic racism that traps inner city children – mainly ethnic minorities – in inferior schools that for fifty years and more have failed to provide 80 percent of them with the skills that are necessary to succeed. Every year 40% of inner city children drop out of school without graduating, and 40% of those who do, are functionally illiterate. The Democrat teacher unions – the same which went on strike during the pandemic with full pay at the expense of children who could not afford to miss school – exert absolute control over these school systems and have stifled all attempts at reforms. They are unalterably opposed to every alternative to their racist policies, from charter schools to vouchers that give inner city kids the same privilege as their middle-class counterparts, to allow their parents to enroll them in schools that will teach them.

The other nationwide systemic racism is affirmative action programs which discriminate against all ethnic groups but those designated “oppressed” – a convenient leftist fiction used to justify all manner of injustice. If you’re black or Pacific Islander or Hispanic, go to the head of the line for a job, a promotion, a place at Harvard, a coveted training position to become a surgeon or other medical specialist. If you’re white or an ethnic minority whose community supports educational values and scores well on exams, like Asians, forget that place at Harvard, you’re screwed.

How racist is that? And how readily is this racism supported by a president and an administration, which like our most dedicated foreign enemies thinks America is a nation of slavers and racist oppressors, while at the same time our borders are under siege by black, brown and Asian minorities desperate to become citizens of the most tolerant, inclusive and egalitarian society on earth.

America will not be healed until the Democrat Party returns to its senses, repudiates its current racist attitudes, and stops demonizing its opponents as what Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called “enemies of the state.”

Pjmedia is a Democratic hoax?

Marjorie Taylor Greene must not get away with this ridiculous dodge. A spokesperson for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told CNN on Friday that McCarthy plans to question Greene about these comments in a meeting next week. McCarthy should not just question her — he should grill her. He should demand a clear, public statement from Greene, along with a convincing retraction of her anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and her support for violence against her colleagues.

Republicans and conservatives cannot stand idly by while Marjorie Taylor Greene makes a mockery of our political movement. I agree with Greene on all sorts of issues, such as the evils of abortion, the dangers of transgenderism, and the seriousness of the Hunter Biden-Burisma scandal. Her anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and her support for political violence undermine those important causes.

Especially after the Capitol riot, when Democrats seem to be preparing a domestic “War on Terror” to silence conservatives, conservatives must vocally condemn political violence and make it clear that facetious attempts to link Trump supporters to terrorists are false and despicable. Greene rightly condemned the violence of the Capitol riot, but she must also disavow her Facebook support for violence against Democrats.

Until Greene disavows QAnon, anti-Semitism, and her Facebook support for political violence, Republicans and conservatives should condemn her and distance themselves from her. Our movement is too important for her to derail it.

It's way too early, but the filibuster must go.

The Democrats can use their House and Senate majorities to reform our politics, guarantee voting rights and enhance our democracy. Or they can surrender to an anti-majoritarian, money-dominated system, and allow the more accessible approach to voting created during the coronavirus pandemic to be destroyed.

This means that the party must recognize that the Senate filibuster, contrary to happy myth, does not promote bipartisanship or constructive compromise by requiring most bills to get 60 votes. No, in the face of a radicalized Republican Party, maintaining the current filibuster rules means abandoning any aspirations to a legacy of genuine achievement.
Sorry, there is no third way here.

Yes, Democrats could avoid a complete repeal of the filibuster by getting rid of it only for certain categories of bills — for example, those related to voting rights and democratic reforms. But living with the status quo means capitulating to obstruction. Democrats have only 50 votes plus Vice President Harris’s tie-breaker. They will never get 10 votes from a GOP that can’t even find a way to exile white-supremacist extremists from its ranks.

So let the inevitable battle be waged in memory of John Lewis and John McCain, the civil rights icon and the Teddy Roosevelt reformer. Let it be a fight for democracy itself.

so much for the big fucking "*Biden team reached out to the GOP" LIE.:

"We're targeted to the needs of the American people, treating our tax dollars as if they're our tax dollars not just money to spend," Cassidy told "Fox News Sunday." "If you say you want bipartisanship ... and then you have a budget reconciliation which is chock-full of payouts to Democratic constituency groups ... you don't want bipartisanship, you want the patina of bipartisanship."

Cassidy claimed that Biden did not even try to work with his bipartisan group of senators.

"The President's team did not reach out to anybody in our group, either Democrat or Republican when they fashioned their proposal," Cassidy said. "So if you want unity, if you want bipartisanship, you ought to start with a group that's shown it's willing to work together for a common solution. They did not."

Cassidy said the senators' proposal matches Biden's $160 billion pledge to fund vaccinations and includes $20 billion "to get kids back to school." Cassidy and his fellow Senate Republicans Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Rob Portman of Ohio, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Todd Young of Indiana, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Mike Rounds of South Dakota, and Thom Tillis of North Carolina sent Biden a letter on Sunday.

"In the spirit of bipartisanship and unity, we have developed a COVID-19 relief framework that builds on prior COVID assistance laws, all of which passed with bipartisan support," they wrote. "Our proposal reflects many of your stated priorities, and with your support, we believe that this plan could be approved quickly by Congress with bipartisan support."

Cassidy said direct coronavirus relief payments need to be more targeted.

"Above a certain income level, that money's not spent ... doesn't stimulate the economy," he said.

“These officials, some who served in the highest echelons of the Bush administration, said they had hoped that a Trump defeat would lead party leaders to move on from the former president and denounce his baseless claims that the November presidential election was stolen.”

“But with most Republican lawmakers sticking to Trump, these officials say they no longer recognize the party they served.

Suzan Levine has announced her elevation to the Biden administration from serving as Washington state’s Commissioner of Employment Security Department. As head of the ESD, her job was ostensibly to protect her state from fraud involving things like benefit payments. Instead, she lost $600 million to Nigerian scam artists. No, I’m not joking. That’s really a thing that happened.

After that was revealed, Levine attempted to cover her own backside by refusing an audit to figure out what the heck happened. Her agency has been embattled and under investigation ever since. She also oversaw long delays during the pandemic in getting people benefits.

Now, here comes the kicker. Levine and her husband gave $400,000 toward Biden’s election effort during the 2020 cycle. For her troubles, she’s going from losing hundreds of millions of dollars with her incompetence to doing the same job at the federal level. Brilliant, right?
