Electorate continues to turn on Biden

Honeymoon appears all but over

A week after President Joe Biden stirred controversy by saying China has “different norms” toward human rights, half of voters view Biden’s China policy as worse than former President Trump’s.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters say Biden’s policy toward China is worse than Trump’s China policy. Thirty-one percent (31%) say Biden’s China policy is better than Trump’s, while 11% rate China policy about the same between the two administrations.

The bombing of Syria has also not been met with much praise and in general people are already questioning his strategy in the Middle East. Even liberals are criticizing the border security issue, especially when the Biden Administration started locking kids back into the same "cages" that they all complained about before. The lack of a $2000 check is a problem that is not going away and the fact that they appear to be caving on the minimum wage is upsetting a whole different set of people.

The bigger problem is that Slow Joe sort of campaigned to appeal to everyone. He promised liberalism, moderateness, restraint, and that he would bring everyone together. But when you make promises to people with opposite wants and desires and attempt to please everyone, you generally end up pleasing nobody.

With someone like Trump or Obama, you knew where they stood and that made for a rabid following from those they worked hard for. Biden has no such following because he really doesn't appear to stand for much.

Meanwhile, Biden allowed himself to be interviewed recently. Well actually he allowed Dr Jill and himself to be interviewed and Dr Jill spent much of the time clarifying and cleaning up after Joes mumbled responses. When was the last time a President had to bring his wife along to assist with a media interview? Of course we can all agree that at least he got out in front of the camera. I was told he stayed up way past nap-time like a big boy.

I expect Biden's poll numbers to slide into the 30's and languish there. His biggest problem is that no one fucking cares. He's a fucking clown, always has been, an inconsequential charlatan from an inconsequential state.

0linsky said it best when he said - "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up."

That comment defines Slow Joe's entire presidency.

In a significant breakthrough in the case, investigators have now pinpointed a person seen on video of the riot who attacked several officers with bear spray, including Officer Sicknick, according to the officials. And video evidence shows that the assailant discussed attacking officers with the bear spray beforehand, one of the officials said.

While investigators narrowed potential suspects seen in video footage to a single person this week, they have yet to identify the assailant by name.

Bear spray might have caused the stroke, but it's going to take time. Proving a crime may be difficult.

Actually I do, both he and Ashli Babbitt were Trump supporters and both should still be alive.

We still don't have an identity of her shooter, thought we do have the CNN funded antifa "reporter" yelling "gun, gun" and "I've got a knife" seconds before the shooting.

I think you don't care.

During the past four years, nobody could figure out how to stop Trump from dominating national attention. Given that he had few guardrails when it came to his speech, he would frequently, literally do and say anything if it was sensational enough to draw interest as well as outrage. The nation was constantly bombarded by his latest whims.

Now there is a new boss in town and he has control of the presidential platform. This means that Biden can use this power in strategic fashion to keep coverage on the issues that matters. The United States is still very much in the middle of a major crisis. Our economy is struggling, Americans are still dying from Covid-19 and our civic and educational institutions are barely standing. Biden needs to keep speaking about taking on these challenges with the ferocity of a military campaign. He should be encouraged by the strong popular support that the stimulus and relief package has received, despite Republican legislators lining up to oppose it. One poll found that 83% of Americans support the package, including 66% of self-described conservatives.

The stakes are too high for the nation to get sucked back into Trumpian chaos, whether delivered at CPAC or anywhere else. Our inability to do so has been a big factor behind our being in the current public health quagmire. Biden has already faced many challenges as president in his first months as commander in chief. Now comes a new one, which will revolve around the exercise of restraint. During last year's presidential debates and campaign, where Trump repeatedly tried to provoke him, Biden showed that he can succeed at this challenge.

His State of the Union speech will be designed to unite the country, not divide it into red vs blue .

A Biden success
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Saturday approved the nation's third coronavirus vaccine, giving hope that the end of the pandemic could soon be in sight.

The official emergency use authorization for Johnson & Johnson's (J&J) single-dose vaccine comes after an agency advisory panel voted 22-0 to recommend authorization on Friday.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

J&J's vaccine could be a potential game changer. It is administered in a single dose and does not need to be frozen when shipped and stored.

The FDA's announcement comes the same week the United States surpassed 500,000 COVID-19 deaths, and as a decline in new cases has stalled amid a rise in more contagious variants of the virus.

To date, supply has been the primary constraint to the ramping up of the U.S. vaccination effort, and the Johnson & Johnson shot will help boost the nation's limited stores.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The green light by federal regulators was expected to trigger the shipment of 3.9 million doses as early as Monday, with some 800,000 of that expected to go directly to pharmacies.

Those numbers would grow weekly. And with shipments from other vaccine makers Pfizer and Moderna, the expanded supply would eventually put the country on track to have enough vaccine on hand to immunize some 130 million adults by the end of March.

He's optimistic about the current situation in the United states.

Billionaire investing icon Warren Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B, BRK-A), reiterated his “never bet against America” maxim on Saturday in his annual letter to shareholders.

“Today, with much of finance, media, government and tech located in coastal areas, it’s easy to overlook the many miracles occurring in middle America,” Buffett wrote in the widely-read letter.

The 90-year-old Omaha, Nebraska native, who has an estimated net worth of $92.7 billion, is widely considered the greatest investor of all time.

Buffett, who has long been bullish on America, wrote that “success stories abound throughout America.”

“Since our country’s birth, individuals with an idea, ambition and often just a pittance of capital have succeeded beyond their dreams by creating something new or by improving the customer’s experience with something old,” he said.

In his letter, he highlighted two communities that “provide stunning illustrations of the talent and ambition existing throughout our country.”

Millions of union workers will build the green new world.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

This could be a big deal in the next election day turnout!

The new vaccine, which is for adults 18 and older, has clear practical and logistical advantages over the first two vaccines — it does not have to be kept frozen, and there is no need for a second round of appointments. That makes it a boon for rural areas and other hard-to-reach communities, and for distribution to community health centers and physician offices that might not have the freezers needed for the other vaccines, public health officials say.

Myballs said...

They probably only began research on it Jan 20, 2021.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Since taking office, the Biden-Harris Administration has:

- Administered over 50 million vaccine shots
- Nearly doubled the pace of vaccinations
- Increased distribution to states by 70%

We’re working hard to get America vaccinated as quickly as possible.

Trump and CPAC emphasize negativity, division, and revenge.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

I doubt that. But if the former had acted immediately after he was notified about the covid-19 virus and how dangerous it was, thousands of lives would not have been lost.

He knew on February 7th, and he said it would just go away. It wasn't until March that we started shutting down the economy to reduce the rate of infections.

It's not politics but he failed to protect and defend the United States against threats to the lives of hundreds of thousands lives.

Remember when he publicly said that bleach injections were a cure?

If a Democratic President had done the same thing, I would be outraged.

A true conservative wants the former to follow a less divisive approach when he publicly speaks tomorrow at the COPAC convention. He is incapable of thinking outside his mind and again his lack of empathy. He wants revenge, because he actually believes that he won in a landslide.

Trump is more intent on using his influence to settle scores than to defeat Democrats. He has indicated that he will work to primary those Republicans who recently voted to impeach him.

He should not take that path.

While his wrath at Republicans such as Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) and others who voted to impeach is understandable, his determination to wreak vengeance could undermine GOP efforts to retake the House and Senate. Primary battles are ugly affairs; the challenger by definition damages voter enthusiasm for the incumbent as he builds his case, and money is drained from the party's coffers.

Already, the GOP infighting has taken a toll, distracting the nation and allowing President Biden to plow ahead with a bloated and unnecessary $1.9 trillion "rescue" bill.

Trump has led the GOP through the beginnings of a seismic shift, attracting working-class voters and sending establishment elites into Joe Biden's corner. This was bound to be a messy realignment and unsettling to party leaders like McConnell, but it brought millions of new voters inside the GOP tent. That should be celebrated.

Trump's "Make America Great Again" and "America First" policies on immigration and trade, among others, proved popular and are important for the nation. As Biden feverishly cancels and contradicts his predecessor's every order and act, Trump supporters will be energized. But they will look to Trump for guidance.

He can use this moment to resurrect his legacy, or he can continue on with the belligerence and self-promotion that undermined his popularity. Trump is a force to be reckoned with; he still commands a sizable following, who believe he has been ill-treated. But if he careens down a dark path of self-destructive retaliation, he will lose his platform and influence.

,Please, Mr. President, rise to this moment. The country needs you, again.

Nothing seems to scare the establishment more than a return to 'normal'. And by 'normal', we mean a return to an environment outside of the tyrannical control of career politicians and bureaucrats who have got a taste for this 'being king' stuff and know that anyone who questions their edicts will be 'canceled' by their Covidian cultists.

So, a week after Johns Hopkins surgeon, Dr. Marty Makary, penned an Op-ed in the WSJ saying that we will have herd immunity by April... and was instantly disavowed as 'dangerous', some awkward 'facts' and 'science' have been dropped by none other than FundStrat's Tom Lee.

So far, South Dakota, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Arizona, Oklahoma, Utah, and Tennessee are the nearest.

Lee's "math" - which we also know is racist - appears to fit with Makary's arguments for why the recent plunge in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths is not policy-related (no matter how much the politicians and their media lackeys push that narrative):

"...the consistent and rapid decline in daily cases since Jan. 8 can be explained only by natural immunity. Behavior didn’t suddenly improve over the holidays; Americans traveled more over Christmas than they had since March. Vaccines also don’t explain the steep decline in January. Vaccination rates were low and they take weeks to kick in.

CNN
TRUMP HAS CPAC, but BIDEN HAS KRYPTONITE
Opinion by Julian Zelizer
(CNN)President Joe Biden should just ignore Donald Trump upon his return to Conservative Political Action Conference this weekend, where the former president is set to throw his Republican acolytes political red meat. If his downplaying of the insurrection of January 6, and deflecting responsibility onto his critics is not enough, they can also hear him play his greatest hits, maybe with a few new tunes thrown in along the way.

Given that most Republicans, including Sen. Mitch McConnell, have made clear that they are fine having him as the face of their party, Trump will undoubtedly be energized. The adulation he can expect at CPAC will also provide him some relief from stories about the intensifying investigations that are taking place into his tax records.

What should President Biden do?
Trump will inevitably launch a few rhetorical grenades at the new administration, so does Biden need to respond? Will saying nothing simply give his defeated predecessor a platform to disseminate falsehoods, disinformation and smears without any sort of retribution? Will this be the beginning of another birther-style campaign, where Trump and his allies ramp up their McCarthy-style attacks while Democrats wrongly assume that they will simply go away?

The best bet is for Biden to ignore him.

We are approaching the anniversary of the moment when our nation was forced to shut down because of Covid-19 and we saw the beginning of a devastating death toll that has outpaced the carnage of all our nation's military conflicts. Had the former president been focused on governance rather than toxic Twitter tirades, we would certainly be in a much better place today. If Biden does anything to provide Trump — who no longer has access to his social media bullhorn — with additional attention, it would be a massive political mistake.

Biden has been remarkably disciplined since taking office. He has kept his focus, and as a result, the focus of the nation, on actual policy responses to help slowly move us back to normal. Since January 20, his public comments have centered on vaccine production and the vaccine rollout, the $1.9 trillion stimulus and relief package, and the confirmation of cabinet secretaries who have needed expertise and governing experience. He has even managed to find time to discuss immigration reform. Biden campaigned on the promise of emphasizing governance after four years where that concern disappeared from the Oval Office and thus far, he has followed through.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Every president has significant power to shape the national agenda via their public proclamations. Unlike anyone else in our political arena, the news media covers the President's words with laser-like focus. If a president starts talking about unemployment, for instance, news coverage — and the private conversations of those who follow politics — will turn to that subject. In contrast, if a president talks about made-up threats from dangerous caravans of people trying to enter into our border, that will receive attention as well. We tend to take our lead from our presidents.

During the past four years, nobody could figure out how to stop Trump from dominating national attention. Given that he had few guardrails when it came to his speech, he would frequently, literally do and say anything if it was sensational enough to draw interest as well as outrage. During last year's presidential debates and campaign, where Trump repeatedly tried to provoke him, Biden showed that he can succeed at this challenge.

Starting this weekend, the President can deliver the kind of political blow that hurts Trump more than anything else — he can ignore him. INDIFFERENCE IS TRUMP'S KRYPTONITE.
If Biden can pull it off again, this will leave him on the strongest political ground.
