“Let’s play strip poker.”

I should have been shocked by the Governor’s crude comment, but I wasn’t.

We were flying home from an October 2017 event in Western New York on his taxpayer-funded jet. He was seated facing me, so close our knees almost touched. His press aide was to my right and a state trooper behind us.

You didn't give a shit when your hero said he can grab her pussy because I'm rich. Your hypocrisy is not getting better.

If this is true, he should do the same thing that your Senator resigned because he squeezed breasts.

Unlike you, I am not a hypocrite .

Ted Cruz on his phone during the Senate Homeland Security and Rules committees hearings on the Capitol riots

((C-Span))
Texas senator Ted Cruz has been filmed scrolling through his phone during the harrowing opening testimony at the Senate hearing into the Capitol riots, less than a week after his controversial trip to Mexico.

The US Capitol’s three former top security officials have been testifying on Tuesday before the Senate Homeland Security and Rules committees about how Congress was breached during the riots on 6 January.

Steven Sund, who was serving as the chief of the Capitol Police at the time of the insurrection, gave a harrowing account of the actions of that day in front of the committees on Tuesday.

“Based on the intelligence we received, we planned for an increased level of violence at the Capitol, and that some participants may be harmed,” Mr Sund said during his testimony.

Elon Musk gets it, though. When a Washington Post reporter emailed him for comment on a story on how investors are worried he is stretched too thin — a story the reporter almost certainly finished writing before bothering to reach out — Musk replied, “Give my regards to your puppet master.”

“Puppet master” refers to Jeff Bezos, the book-burning, dissent-crushing, Main St.-wasting, China-loving left-wing billionaire who owns The Washington Post.
And “alpha” refers to Elon Musk, who just perfectly demonstrated how to respond to a hostile and dishonest corporate media no matter the story.

I admit I was once very skeptical of Musk. SolarCity was a disaster for the American taxpayer. Teslas are cool if you have subsidies and like screens a lot, but they won’t do you much good when the bombs drop. And then one day, while I was in the middle of an important conversation, I found myself somehow distracted by a television in the background showing a space shuttle returning to land on the Earth. That was the day I stopped rolling my eyes at that electrical man from Pretoria, even if his technology will destroy us all someday.

Now compare landing space ships to the world of news journalism I joined a bit over a decade ago, where laziness and based stupidity go hand in hand with self-importance.

It’s a profession where it’s noble to print private neighborhood texts and take photographs of children to get just one more scoop on the already known story of Sen. Ted Cruz going Mexico, yet a story about Gov. Andrew Cuomo killing thousands of your parents in your own state is ignored until President Joe Biden can be safely elected.

It’s a world where Brian Stelter feels comfortable talking about how he “crawled into bed and cried,” where journalists think covering Trump was “thrilling in the way that I imagine storming Omaha Beach must have been,” where Brian Williams smiles and waves to a crowd at a Ranger’s game while the jumbotron tells the completely fake story of that time he was super brave and his helicopter was shot down in Iraq.

It’s a place where The New York Times can print falsehood after falsehood about President Donald Trump, and where its reporters can proudly claim credit for starting deadly race riots, while the editor in chief claims Trump “puts [reporters’] lives at risk” by calling “them names.”

It’s a field that builds the “Newseum,” a massive monument to its own importance, while executives and board members pay themselves millions to run the place into the ground.

It’s an industry owned by men like Jeff Bezos.

It’s a thing that doesn’t deserve your respect.

The first 100 days are the greatest of all time!

The stock market staged another big intraday comeback on Wednesday as investors continued to piled into names sensitive to an economic comeback, while looking past the risk of inflation and rising interest rates.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average reversed a 110-point loss and climbed 430 points, powered by the strong performance in energy, industrials and financials. Boeing jumped 7.4%, while Chevron climbed 4%. Goldman Sachs, American Express and Caterpillar rose more than 2% each. The S&P 500 advanced 1.1%.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite erased a 1.3% loss and turned 0.9% higher. Technology stocks sold off earlier as the 10-year Treasury yield topped 1.4% to hit its highest level since February 2020. Higher interest rates could prompt investors to rotate out of high-flyers and into bonds, while they could hamstring growth companies, which benefited from the low-rate environment. Apple, Microsoft and Amazon and Facebook came off their lows of the day but still traded in the red.

“Volatility along the way is to be expected, and higher rates will continue to drive more risk down into sectors and factors, but ... dips in the equity market are meant to be bought in this environment,” Christopher Metli, a quantitative and derivative strategist at Morgan Stanley, said in a note.

Yields came off its highs after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell continued to downplay the threat of inflation, saying it could take three years to reach the central bank’s target consistently.

In Wednesday’s testimony in front of the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, Powell added that inflation could be volatile as the economy reopens and there is increased demand. But he does not expect inflation to run hot and said the central bank has the tools to fight it if it should.

The stock market posted a sharp reversal in the previous session after the Fed chief’s dovish remarks eased fears about a change in monetary policy in the face of a pickup in inflation and interest rates. Powell said Tuesday that inflation was still “soft” and that the U.S. economy was “a long way from our employment and inflation goals.”

The claim: President Joe Biden was supposed to deliver a State of the Union address by Feb. 20

On Jan. 8, 1790, President George Washington delivered the first – and shortest – annual message from a president to Congress in U.S. history.

His message began a tradition of the president providing information to Congress on the condition of the country, rooted in the U.S. Constitution, that evolved to include legislative proposals. It took until 1947 before it officially was called the "State of the Union."

A Facebook user, though, recently noted that President Joe Biden has not delivered his first State of the Union address. That user falsely claims that “it was supposed to be done by” Feb. 20.

While the U.S. Constitution says the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient,” it does not set a timeline.

The last six presidents also have not delivered an official State of the Union during the year in which they were inaugurated, according to the Congressional Research Service.

The user did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The hard right thinks that Garland is a deep state conspirator. Like CH posted for 8 years.

BY PAUL MIRENGOFF IN BIDEN JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, JOE BIDEN'S NOMINEES

WHOM TO BELIEVE, MERRICK GARLAND OR OUR EYES?

I don’t consider Merrick Garland a moderate liberal, and I don’t think he came across as one during his confirmation hearing yesterday. He couldn’t even bring himself to say that illegally entering the U.S. should be a crime.

I consider Garland a front man for the radicalization and politicization of the Department of Justice. As Julie Kelly puts it, “he’ll be a figurehead [like Robert Mueller] and Weismann-type prosecutors will run the show.”

Two of those who, if confirmed, will run the show are Vanita Gupta and Kristin Clarke. Gupta is Joe Biden’s nominee for Associate Attorney General. Clarke is his nominee for Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights.

Yesterday, Sen. Mike Lee asked Garland about these two. Garland dutifully vouched for them on the basis of having “gotten to know them.” The question is: What else could he say? Also: Whom should we believe, Merrick Garland or our lying eyes?

Considering that William Barr was the political Attorney General in history. Until the former tried to overthrow the Constitution .

CHICKASHA, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma man who had been released early from prison in January as part of a mass commutation effort is now accused of three killings, including the death of a neighbor whose heart he cut out, authorities said.

A judge denied bail Tuesday for Lawrence Paul Anderson, who faces three counts of first-degree murder, one count of assault and one count of maiming for the attack this month in Chickasha, about 35 miles (55 kilometers) southwest of Oklahoma City.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Anderson is accused of killing Andrea Lynn Blankenship, 41, and cutting out her heart. Authorities say Anderson brought the heart to his aunt and uncle’s house, cooked it with potatoes and tried to serve it to them before killing Leon Pye, 67, wounding the aunt and killing Kaeos Yates, the pair’s 4-year-old granddaughter.

WHO SHOT ASHLI BABBITT?

With Ashli Babbitt Killing Shrouded in Mystery, Capitol Officer Who Shot Her Is in Hiding for His Own Safety.

All told, seven people died in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6. But only Ashli Babbitt’s death was directly caused by violence that day. She was a rioter killed by a Capitol Police officer, who fired the only shot by any person during the 4½-hour siege. Yet the story of who he is and why he opened fire remains shrouded in mystery.

More than six weeks after Babbitt succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, authorities are keeping secret the identity of the officer who fired the fatal round. They won’t release his name, and the major news media aren’t clamoring for it, in stark contrast to other high-profile police shootings of unarmed civilians.

I don’t see why government officials who kill people in the course of their employment should get to stay anonymous. And the lack of transparency on this — the killing of an unarmed protester, which is the sort of thing that usually provokes riots in America — is disgraceful.

And the notion that statements like “Justice for Ashli Babbitt” or “We are Ashli Babbitt” are somehow seditious or threatening, when such statements have been standard fare in dozens of other police shootings of unarmed victims, is dishonest and cruel. Plus:

Most of the circumstances that led to his actions are still unclear. But video footage filmed by rioters shows the lieutenant, after taking up a defensive position in a doorway, carefully aiming and shooting Babbitt as she tries to climb through a smashed window beside a barricaded double door leading to the Speaker’s Lobby, part of a pro-Trump mob of protesters. Babbitt, 35, had no weapon. She died later at a hospital. The decorated Air Force veteran, who had traveled from San Diego, was wearing a Trump flag as a cape when she was shot.

Dressed in a dark suit and white shirt with cufflinks, along with a beaded bracelet on his right shooting hand, the Capitol Police officer fired at her from the side of the barricade, where he had been hidden from view in a doorway. At least from what can be seen and heard from the video, he appears to issue no commands to stop nor any verbal warning that he would shoot.

How would the press be playing it if this had been a Black Lives Matter protest? They certainly wouldn’t be giving the officer the benefit of the doubt. And I suspect his name would have leaked out.

Treason Wall Street Journal reports

Texas’s deregulated electricity market, which was supposed to provide reliable power at a lower price, left millions in the dark last week. For two decades, its customers have paid more for electricity than state residents who are served by traditional utilities, a Wall Street Journal analysis has found.

Nearly 20 years ago, Texas shifted from using full-service regulated utilities to generate power and deliver it to consumers. The state deregulated power generation, creating the system that failed last week. And it required nearly 60% of consumers to buy their electricity from one of many retail power companies, rather than a local utility.

Those deregulated Texas residential consumers paid $28 billion more for their power since 2004 than they would have paid at the rates charged to the customers of the state’s traditional utilities, according to the Journal’s analysis of data from the federal Energy Information Administration.

The crisis last week was driven by the power producers. Now that power has largely been restored, attention has turned to retail electric companies, a few of which are hitting consumers with steep bills. Power prices surged to the market price cap of $9,000 a megawatt hour for several days during the crisis, a feature of the state’s system designed to incentivize power plants to supply more juice. Some consumers who chose variable rate power plans from retail power companies are seeing the big bills.

None of this was supposed to happen under deregulation.

After a contentious debate on the Equality Act, which would extend civil rights protections to the LGBTQ community, Illinois Rep. Marie Newman (D) on Wednesday raised a transgender pride flag outside her office — which happens to sit directly across from the office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), one of the bill’s most vocal opponents.
“Our neighbor, @RepMTG, tried to block the Equality Act because she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Americans is ‘disgusting, immoral, and evil,’” Newman, who has a transgender daughter, wrote on Twitter with a video of her hanging the flag. “Thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door.”
Equality Act introduced in House to provide sweeping LGBTQ protections
Greene, who lost her committee memberships by promoting false and extremist claims, quickly responded with her own video mocking Newman’s earlier tweet as she hung up a poster that said, “There are TWO genders: Male & Female. Trust the science.”
AD

“Thought we’d put up ours so [Newman] can look at it every time she opens her door,” Greene said.
The exchange quickly went viral, leading critics to accuse Greene of cruelty directly aimed at Newman’s family — the latest bit of outrage spurred by a House member who has espoused QAnon’s baseless theories and falsely suggested that former president Donald Trump’s supporters were not present at the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
Newman’s fellow Illinois Democrat, Rep. Sean Casten, called Greene’s poster “sickening, pathetic, unimaginably cruel.”

“Mike Pompeo has quickly reentered the political fray, raising money for Republicans, addressing key political gatherings and joining an advocacy group run by Donald Trump’s former lawyer.

“The former secretary of state is widely considered a potential 2024 presidential contender. His professional moves this week indicate he’s working to keep his name in the headlines and bolster a political brand built largely on foreign policies easily contrasted with the Biden White House.”

HE IS ONE OF THE TWO OR THREE NATIONAL GOP FIGURES I CAN THINK OF WHO ARE ALMOST AS DESPICABLE AS TRUMP.

Trump’s Litmus Test
[ONLY OUT AND OUT LIARS LIKE HIMSELF MAY APPLY]
Daily Beast:
“Once he and his remaining advisers start vetting conservative candidates or a possible slate of MAGA primary challengers in earnest, Trump has told several people he prefers to back candidates who haven’t ever conceded he lost the 2020 election.

“If a potential candidate seeking Trump’s support has a proven record of saying Trump lost and that the months-long push to overturn the 2020 election was a mistake, that could be a nonstarter, the former president has said in recent weeks.”

More successful President than the last one!

New coronavirus infections continued their sharp decline over the past week, and are now back down to pre-Thanksgiving levels.

The big picture: Given the U.S.’ experience over the past year, it can be hard to trust anything that looks like good news, without fearing that another shoe is about to drop. But the U.S. really is doing something right lately. Cases are way down, vaccinations are way up, and that’s going to save a lot of lives.

By the numbers: On average, just under 65,000 Americans were diagnosed with coronavirus infections every day over the past week. That’s a 20% drop from the week before, and continues a steep downward trend that has lasted more than a month.

To rebuild, you drain the oil tank and remove it. You disconnect the pistons from the crankshaft. In a pushrod engine, you remove the cover over the engine head, disassemble the valve assembly. Usually you remove the engine heads to get a valve job. If you don't need to rebore the cylinders, and the pistons are okay, put new rings on them. The racist rodent bastard is a stupid troll.

BTW the Craftsman company survived the change in retail industry.

Roger, you know you are on purpose and by design overstating the Dark Winter President role in the success.

Roger are you sticking with your prediction of Bidenomics will have the US Economy back to pre-pandemic levels by April 30th?

Rest assured Roger is clueless as he was, when he suggested buying "shorts" on a rising stock to make money.

Roger failed to include this from the story.
"An inverted yield curve for US Treasury bonds is among the most consistent recession indicators."

The left is constantly making up stories apparently because they think it boosts their "credibility".

People like Smollett and AOC with their fake incidents are poster people of this but most displays of supposed right wing hatred are actually hoaxes created by the left.

You can see it here.

Our "poster boys" are the alky and the POS "pastor"

They only fool themselves.

And their fake "science" and "knowledge" is often fueled by FAKE NEWS.

24/7.

The biggest hoax over the past 5 years was the massive Trump/Russia collusion hoax.

Yet they still use the same FAKE NEWS sources that promoted that.

And now they want to reign in "misinformation".

Well they are the king of that.

Roger, ran off, a shame , I wanted more of his economic wisdom and debate him on the inverted bond curve.

Donald Trump’s Tax Records Finally Turned Over For New York Investigation

Nearly a decade’s worth of former President Donald Trump’s tax documents have been turned over to a New York district attorney’s office, multiple outlets reported Thursday.

The office received millions of pages spanning from January 2011 to August 2019, according to CNN.

The move comes after the Supreme Court issued a decision Monday on Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.’s wide-ranging criminal investigation into Trump’s family businesses.
