TRUE STORY:
A chaplain went to a prison and as he was approaching the podium. he fell down.

The prison audience erupted into raucous laughter.

The chaplain got up, went quickly to the podium and said,
"Men, that's exactly why I've come here today!
To tell you that a man can fall down and yet get up again."

Senator Says GOP Can’t ‘Explain Away’ Insurrection
NBC:
Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) urged Republicans not to come up with “alternative versions” for what happened on January 6 at the Capitol, an apparent reference to those who have argued that “antifa” or left-wing protesters were responsible for driving the violence.

Said Blunt:
“We don’t need to try and explain away or come up with alternative versions. We all saw what happened, we know what happened. We can’t let that kind of thing be repeated in our country. Totally unacceptable.”

HERE'S SOMETHING ELSE TO CONSIDER:
Taegan Goddard at policalwire.com reports that THE GUARDIAN reports that:

Trump Will Use ‘Own Platform’ to Return to Social Media

Donald Trump will soon use “his own platform” to return to social media, months after the former president was banned from Twitter for inciting the US Capitol riot.

Adviser Jason Miller said Trump will be “returning to social media in two or three months,” with “his own platform” that will “completely redefine the game” and attract “tens of millions” of users.

“While Democrats are more likely than Republicans to say Black, Hispanic and Asian people face discrimination, Republicans are much more likely than Democrats to say that there is a lot of discrimination against White people in society today.

"About a quarter of Republicans

T. Goddard at politicalwire.com reports that the NYT report on
How Police MISHANDLED Black Lives Matter Protests
New York Times:
“Months after the demonstrations that followed the killing of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police in May, the full scope of the country’s policing response is becoming clearer. More than a dozen after-action evaluations have been completed, looking at how police departments responded to the demonstrations — some of them chaotic and violent, most peaceful — that broke out in hundreds of cities between late May and the end of August.

“In city after city, the reports are a damning indictment of police forces that were poorly trained, heavily militarized and stunningly unprepared for the possibility that large numbers of people would surge into the streets, moved by the graphic images of Mr. Floyd’s death under a police officer’s knee. The mistakes transcended geography, staffing levels and financial resources.”

“We are sending a message that will be heard all around the state. Raffensperger has got to go” said one participant.

Raffensperger‘s defeat comes as a shock given that Republican elected officials are often treated like royalty whenever they seek to be made a delegate to anything.

Raffensperger had sent a note requesting to be made a delegate but no one nominated him and he did not attend the caucus.

Border officials requested the air support from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement because 1,000 members of families and unaccompanied minors crossed the Rio Grande on Friday morning, and border agents have another 1,000 migrants they have been unable to process since last night, the communications show.

You Really Shouldn't Eat Chilean Sea Bass. Here's Why
Rodin Eckenroth/Getty Images
BY HOPE NGO/AUG. 19, 2020 4:39 AM EDT
Before we talk about Chilean sea bass, we thought we might introduce you to the Patagonian toothfish, which ocean conservation site Oceana says is a large, deep-sea predator that comes from South America. They live near the bottom of the sea, where they can hunt other fish, squid, and crustaceans. They mature at a slow rate – these types of fish don't become reproductively active until they are eight to 10 years old.

It's important to know about the Patagonian toothfish because Oceana says this sea creature's name was changed for commercial purposes in 1977, to something it hadn't been called before: Chilean sea bass. The name change was carried out for the sole purpose of making it seem more appealing to seafood fans. And while experts aren't sure whether the fish is endangered or not, it is a fact that several of its populations have been cut down and depleted because of overfishing. The ubiquitousness of the name "Chilean sea bass" is such that the Patagonian toothfish's cousin, the Antarctic Toothfish, is also sold as Chilean sea bass. Unless labels are clearly spelled out, it is difficult to tell the difference between the two.

There's another reason why you should keep moving if you see "Chilean sea bass" on a restaurant menu or in a supermarket. Because they are such bottom dwellers, fishermen use trawlers and longlines to try and snag the fish, and they end up damaging the ocean floor and ensnaring other animals including seabirds in the process. To top it all off, the Patagonian toothfish/Chilean sea bass isn't just an endangered species; eat

Ron Johnson Fills the Trump Misinformation Void
NEW YORK TIMES:
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) “incited widespread outrage when he said recently that he would have been more afraid of the rioters who rampaged the Capitol on Jan. 6 had they been members of Black Lives Matter and antifa.

“But his revealing and incendiary comment, which quickly prompted accusations of racism, came as no surprise to those who have followed Mr. Johnson’s career in Washington or back home in Wisconsin. He has become the Republican Party’s foremost amplifier of conspiracy theories and disinformation now that [Rush is dead and] Donald Trump himself is banned from social media and largely avoiding appearances on cable television.”

Biden Does What Obama Did Not
Maureen Dowd:
“So now comes a delicious twist: President Biden is being hailed as a transformational, once-in-a-generation progressive champion, with comparisons to L.B.J. and F.D.R. aplenty, while Obama has become a cautionary tale about what happens when Democrats get the keys to the car but don’t put their foot on the gas.

“The collective smirk was wiped off the face of Obamaworld this past week, as former aides expressed their irritation at the retrospective dissing, and while Biden’s inner circle enjoyed an unfamiliar sensation: schadenfreude. Now the friendly fire once aimed at Biden is coming toward Obama.”

The 25th amendment bs is ridiculous.

But because Sleepy Joe Biden will be 82 in 2024 of 2025, I didn't look it up but because of his age, she will be sworn in on January 20th in 2025, as the first woman and a multi racial President is history.

But he chose a 56-year old Black woman as his running mate, making him what Fiorina called "a transitional figure" and "a bridge to the future." Not a MAGA to take the country back to the past century.

She said Harris was instrumental in their victory and President Biden "clearly views her as a partner, as a teammate."

So, will Harris be the one who finally makes the leap?

Her role is still being written by the administration. There's concern that tie-breaking responsibilities in the Senate will hamper her ability to take on more meaty tasks that will give her the kind of executive experience voters will accept.

Harris' background as a biracial woman could make the journey harder if she choses to run.

On the 2020 campaign trail she faced discrimination as rival Trump spread a racist birther conspiracy theory based on her immigrant parents, who were from Jamaica and India. Republican officials often mispronounce her first name, which some consider to be discriminatory.

"It says you don't belong, you're different," A'shanti Gholar, president of Emerge America, which trains Democratic women to run for office, told the Sacramento Bee.

Those obstacles will not go away.

What's more, observers say Democrats are unlikely to clear the field in four or eight years for a Harris candidacy amid memories of Hillary Clinton's near-coronation in 2016. A crowded primary is almost a given.

Even so, her current platform as vice president gives her advantages no other woman has ever had, if she is given the leadership role that the campaign promised when she got the nod.

"Being woman and a woman of color will make it more difficult for her than other vice presidents," Nittle said. "But she's clearly in a better situation to become president than any American woman in history."

I agree with rational people, not like you know who.

Convicting any of the Capitol defendants on charges of obstructing an official proceeding will cross a dangerous line—a line government prosecutors and federal judges clearly feel undeterred to cross. Let's unpack what happened in Alaska between Biden delegation & China, shall we?

1) China gave the Bidens $1.5 BILLION thru BHR Partners in 2014.

2) Just 2 months ago, DNI Ratcliffe told the public that China interfered in 2020 election.

3) What is China getting for its money?

4) Blinken arrives in Alaska acting as if #1 & #2 never happened. He starts by criticizing China for its usual abuses.

5) China's diplomat is shocked. He knows about # 1-3. He says: “Many people within US actually have little confidence in the democracy of the United States."

6) China's diplomat then talks about Black Lives Matter! That's right: the regime currently exterminating the Uyghurs approves of BLM. After all, communists love Critical Race Theory because it weakens the USA.

7) Blinken is caught off guard by these remarks.

8) To drive the point home that China knows that it owns the Bidens, China tells Blinken that he can't speak to China "from a position of strength."

9) China knows # 1-3 so it drove home the point that it can dictate terms to USA now. It's not interested in Biden's pretenses.

10) The Biden Admin is obviously interested in maintaining the public pretense that it's not a subsidiary of China. China no longer cares to abide by this pretense. Can you imagine the 2020 election information that China could release to embarrass the Bidens?

11) Just look at Biden's national security picks. His CIA director came out of Carnegie Endowment for Peace, not a place known for China hawks. His ODNI pick is best known for owning a Baltimore book store & having no military or intel experience at all.

President Cackle

Make no mistake, Kamala Harris is a woke authoritarian. And she’s likely to be president sooner rather than later.

By Theodore Roosevelt Malloch

We have all seen her and the idiomatic cackle. It is so haunting that it is difficult to forget. It is absolutely nightmarish. In fact, the cackle has become her hallmark and very calling card.

And, likely soon, she will formally become our 47th president.

A cackle is a harsh, raucous sound made when laughing. It resembles the cry of a goose. The sharp manner recalls Shakespeare’s “crones that cackled of evil deeds.” The cackle often follows pain and destruction, to let you know that the villain is happy with his or her handiwork.

In other words, the cackle is pure arrogant pride.

Kamala Harris, for the moment junior to sleepy Joe Biden, the oldest president in the long American saga, is acting president. Within months, however, as many predicted, Joe will be declared unfit for office and pronounced medically senile. He will either step down, fall down, or be pushed down by his own party and she will assume the full title and be sworn in.

It is inevitable. The transition is already underway in full view for all to see.

In the Oval Office daily and taking calls from foreign heads of state, the cackler-in-chief is elbowing her way into complete and supreme power. She most certainly is not Joe’s nurse but the executive leader-in-waiting. In her black pantsuits behind the Resolute Desk, she obviously has adroitly positioned herself. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say someone else did so on her behalf, making her something of a puppet cackler. That somebody is Barack Obama, only Kamala’s most recent promoter.

“Fweedom” (and Other Fabrications)

Let’s look at her qualifications to be commander-in-chief, keeper of the secret codes and what they portend for these United States. We have had vice presidents accede to the presidency before, after illness or assassination. Most have proved to be weak, ineffective, and short-lived. A few made it on their own, but they are the exception rather than the rule. Think of Millard Fillmore, Chester Arthur, Andrew Johnson, or Gerald Ford.

Kamala Harris, the most left-wing senator in the entire U.S. Senate, was herself a candidate for the presidency against golden oldie Joe Biden way back in 2019.

She doggedly attacked him and his lackluster record, decrying his age, his judgment, his policies, and his groping of women. With around just one percent of the Democratic voters choosing her, she dropped out of the race only to resurface in the vice-presidential sweepstakes because a woman of color was seen as “desirable,” if not mandatory, so as to placate progressives. No actual qualifications necessary.

You have to admit Kamala Harris does have a strange pedigree. Actually, she is not African American, poor, or ghetto. But she does embody evil much like Scene 1 Act 4 of Macbeth: “Fillet of a fenny snake, In the cauldron boil and bake; Eye of newt, and toe of frog, . . . Fire burn and cauldron bubble.”

Her father was a Jamaican Marxist economist who got a token placement at Stanford, because he was black. He has admitted that his aristocratic family of some wealth actually owned slaves in the colonial era. After a few years, he divorced Kamala’s mother, whom he had met in the 1960s at radical Berkeley, an Indian of the highest Brahmin caste (the highest varna in Vedic Hinduism), who was a medical researcher. With her sister, they next fled to Montreal for her entire youth. In Canada, besides French, Kamala learned the anti-Americanism that defines her to this day. Her borrowed story about demanding “fweedom” as a toddler rings hollow.

She attended all-black Howard University (the “Harvard of the Negro colleges”

(In these baptism records, Mary Melvina’s last name and maiden name are both listed as Brown, which makes it highly likely she is the Mary Melvina born to Hamilton Brown in 1839).

We have not yet found a record of a Christiana Brown being born to Mary Melvina Brown. Such a record would establish a link between Donald Harris’ paternal grandmother Christiana and the Antrim slave owner Hamilton Brown.

get a load of the scumbag the cops are searching for in the latest NYC attack on an Asian man:

The NYPD is searching for a stylish-looking man they say punched a 68-year-old stranger on a Manhattan subway train on Friday afternoon.

Fortunately for police, there are clear, mask-free surveillance images of the suspect, in which he appears to smile for the cameras and his would-be captors.

The suspect — clad in a fedora, leather jacket and bright pink hoodie — approached the victim on a northbound 1 train inside the Franklin and Varick Street Subway Station shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said.

The pugilistic perpetrator struck the stranger in the head with his closed fist, then fled, cops said.

The victim suffered head injures and was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, according to officials.

It was unclear what provoked the attack.

BREAKING: Fmr. President Trump calls for investigation into Biden’s gag order on Border Agents, calls it ‘huge cover-up

STATEMENT BY DONALD J. TRUMP, 45TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:

We proudly handed the Biden Administration the most secure border in history. All they had to do was keep this smooth-running system on autopilot. Instead, in the span of a just few weeks, the Biden Administration has turned a national triumph into a national disaster.

They are in way over their heads and taking on water fast.

The pathetic, clueless performance of Secretary Mayorkas on the Sunday Shows today was a national disgrace. His self-satisfied presentation—in the middle of the massive crisis he helped engineer—is yet more proof he is incapable of leading DHS. Even someone of Mayorkas’ limited abilities should understand that if you provide Catch-and-Release to the world’s illegal aliens then the whole world will come.

Furthermore, the Mayorkas Gag Order on our Nation’s heroic border agents and ICE officers should be the subject of an immediate congressional investigation. But it’s clear they are engaged in a huge cover-up to hide just how bad things truly are.

The only way to end the Biden Border Crisis is for them to admit their total failure and adopt the profoundly effective, proven Trump policies.

They must immediately complete the wall, which can be done in a matter of weeks—they should never have stopped it.

They are causing death and human tragedy. In addition to the obvious, drugs are pouring into our country at record levels from the Southern Border, not to mention human and sex trafficking.

This Administration’s reckless policies are enabling and encouraging crimes against humanity. Our Country is being destroyed!

The claim comes from Allan Lichtman, a Distinguished Professor of History at American University known for his predictive model that has accurately forecast the winner of seven of the last eight U.S. presidential elections.

"He's got $400 million-plus in loans coming due. His brand is failing. His businesses are failing. He has a huge IRS audit. He doesn't hold office anymore. He's lost his Twitter. The most dramatic change in American capitalism over the last half-century has been the emergence of corporate behemoths like Amazon and the shrinkage of labor unions. The resulting imbalance has spawned near-record inequalities of income and wealth, corruption of democracy by big money and the abandonment of the working class.

All this is coming to a head in several ways.

Over the next eight days, Amazon faces a union vote at its warehouse in Bessemer, Alabama. If successful, it would be Amazon’s first US-based union in its nearly 27-year history.

Conditions in Amazon warehouses would please Kim Jong-un – strict production quotas, 10-hour workdays with only two half-hour breaks, unsafe procedures, arbitrary firings “and they track our every move”, Jennifer Bates, a worker at Bessemer, told the Senate budget committee on Wednesday.

To thwart the union drive, Amazon has required Bessemer workers to attend anti-union meetings, warned workers they’d have to pay union dues (wrong – Alabama is a “right-to-work” state that bars mandatory dues), and intimidated and harassed organizers.

Why is Amazon abusing its workers?

The company isn’t exactly hard-up. It’s the most profitable firm in America. Its executive chairman and largest shareholder, Jeff Bezos, is the richest man in the world, holding more wealth than the bottom 39% of Americans put together.

Amazon is abusing workers because it can.

Fifty years ago, General Motors was the largest employer in America. The typical GM worker earned $35 an hour in today’s dollars and had a major say over working conditions. Today’s largest employers are Amazon and Walmart, each paying about $15 an hour and treating workers like cattle.

The typical GM worker wasn’t “worth” more than twice today’s Amazon or Walmart worker and didn’t have more valuable insights about how work should be organized. The difference is GM workers a half-century ago had a strong union, summoning the collective bargaining power of more than a third of the entire American workforce.

By contrast, today’s Amazon and Walmart workers are on their own. And because only 6.4% of America’s private-sector workers are unionized, there’s little collective pressure on Amazon or Walmart to treat their workers any better.

Fifty years ago, “big labor” had enough political clout to ensure labor laws were enforced and that the government pushed giant firms like GM to sustain the middle class.

Today, organized labor’s political clout is minuscule by comparison. The biggest political players are giant corporations like Amazon. And what have they done with their muscle? Encouraged “right-to-work” laws, diluted federal labor protections and kept the National Labor Relations Board understaffed and overburdened.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

They’ve also impelled government to lower their taxes (Amazon paid zero federal taxes in 2018); extorted states to provide them tax breaks as condition for locating facilities there (Amazon is a champion at this game); bullied cities where they’re headquartered (Amazon forced Seattle to back down on a plan to tax big corporations to pay for homeless shelters); and wangled trade treaties allowing them to outsource so many jobs that blue-collar workers in America have little choice but to take low-paying, high-stress warehouse and delivery gigs.

Oh, and they’ve neutered antitrust laws, which in an earlier era would have had companies like Amazon in their crosshairs.

This decades-long power shift – the emergence of corporate leviathans and the demise of labor unions – has resulted in a massive upward redistribution of income and wealth. The richest 0.1% of Americans now has almost as much wealth as the bottom 90% together.

Corporate profits account for a growing share of the total economy and wages a declining share, with multi-billionaire executives and investors like Bezos taking home the lion’s share.

The power shift can be reversed – but only with stronger labor laws, tougher trade deals and a renewed commitment to antitrust.

The Biden administration and congressional Democrats appear willing. The House has just passed the toughest labor reforms in more than a generation. Biden’s new trade representative, Katherine Tai, promises trade deals will protect American workers rather than exporters. And Biden is putting trustbusters in critical positions at the Federal Trade Commission and in the White House.

I’d like to think America is at a tipping point similar to where it was some 120 years ago, when the ravages and excesses of the Gilded Age precipitated what became known as the Progressive Era. Then, reformers reversed the course of American capitalism for the next 70 years, making it work for the many rather than the few.

Today’s progressive activists – in Washington, at Amazon’s Bessemer warehouse and elsewhere around the nation – may be on the verge of doing the same.

Good night assholes like the racist rodent bastard.

Hey ballz.....trickle down was an abject failure!!!! Sorry ballz, Roger once again has kicked your old white ass!!!!!

Trickle Down Economics and the Failure to Create Jobs
Is trickle down economics a failure? Why do people continue to support it?

Trickle down economics is widely considered a failure. One example is governor Bobby Jindal’s term as governor of Louisiana, where he promoted anti-environmental and big business policies.

Read more about how trickle down economics is a failure and how deregulation furthers the problem.

Trickle Down Economics Failure and Anti-Government Politics
As one of the most strongly Republican states in the country, Louisiana offers a mix of low-tax, low-regulation, anti-government, and anti-labor policies designed to lure businesses from other parts of the country (and around the world) to the state.

Right-wing politicians claim that these corporations bring much-needed tax revenue, investment, and jobs to the state. One such figure was Republican former Governor Bobby Jindal, who was elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2011, each time by large margins.

Jindal campaigned as an explicitly anti-environment candidate, promising to slash the state’s already meager environmental regulations in order to entice more extraction industry firms to Louisiana. A centerpiece of his administration was a $1.6 billion “incentive” package for industry, consisting of massive tax cuts and direct public subsidies to companies. Unfortunately, Jindal’s showering of state largesse on corporations diverted resources from the state’s health and education systems, resulting in the layoff of 30,000 nurses, teachers, and safety inspectors, among other public servants.

A Race to the Bottom
Jindal’s “race-to-the-bottom” approach to economic development, however, may prove to be nothing more than a massive giveaway of public resources to wealthy corporations, for scant returns in long-term growth.

“We will try to get them to work with us. But if not, we will put our heads together and figure out how to go,” Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) told reporters.

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) was more blunt, calling GOP leadership “divorced from reality” for opposing policies that are popular — even among Republicans — outside the Beltway.

“Our standard for bipartisanship can no longer be what happens here in the Capitol, because we know that the strategy of my colleagues, legislatively, is not to try and find common ground — it's obstruction and mischaracterization,” he said. “They ran this playbook during the Obama administration ... They are running the same playbook again.

“We will not let them get away with it," he added.

The plow-ahead strategy is significant with a host of big agenda items looming in the coming months, including sweeping proposals addressing infrastructure needs, climate change and fixes to the Affordable Care Act.

A common assumption is that when American corporations are profitable, Americans are better off

It was true under Reagan and certainly true under Trump where unemployment was at historic lows. (Don't cite the pandemic year which is a wild card no economist can account for and where governments deliberately crashed economies in the name of public health.)

When corporations are profitable they invest the profits in expansion they almost never distribute the profits to shareholders because the tax code works against it. The investment means new jobs and new tax revenue.

Economies don’t grow from the top down — they grow from the bottom up, through public investment. (higher taxes)

Tired old Keynesian economics that has never worked. Not once. The problem is that "public investment" is not directed at the market. (In some cases (Ie clean energy technology) it tries to make a market or (by onerously high fuel taxes) alter a market.) it is directed by political expediency.

Don't get me wrong, the government need money for infrastructure spending. But you are spending money to repair or build it and not as an economic stimulus as a goal.

Sedition is possible

You cross the line when you cross a police line aggressively. You throw something at a cop. You hit a cop. You go into a restricted area, knowing you're not supposed to be there. These are the plus factors that cross that line from a protester to a rioter.

Scott Pelley: Has the role of former President Trump been part of your investigation?

Michael Sherwin:   It's unequivocal that Trump was the magnet that brought the people to D.C. on the 6th. Now the question is, is he criminally culpable for everything that happened during the siege, during the breach? What I could tell you is this, based upon, again, what we see in the public record. And what we see in public statements in court. We have plenty of people-- we have soccer moms from Ohio that were arrested saying, "Well, I did this because my president said I had to take back our house." That moves the needle towards that direction. Maybe the president is culpable for those actions. But also, you see in the public record too militia members saying, "You know what? We did this because Trump just talks a big game. He's just all talk. We did what he wouldn't do."

Scott Pelley: In short, you have investigators looking into the president's role?

Michael Sherwin: We have people looking at everything, correct. Everything's being looked at.

But, so far, prosecutors have not charged sedition--attempting to overthrow the government.

Scott Pelley: I'm not a lawyer, but the way I read the sedition statute, it says that, "Sedition occurs when anyone opposes by force the authority of the United States, or by force hinders or delays the execution of any law of the United States." Seems like a very low bar, and I wonder why you're not charging that now?

Michael Sherwin: Okay, so I don't think it's a low bar, Scott, but I will tell you this. I personally believe the evidence is trending towards that, and probably meets those elements.

Scott Pelley: Do you anticipate sedition charges against some of these suspects?

Michael Sherwin: I believe the facts do support those charges. And I think that, as we go forward, more facts will support that, Scott.

here's what Third Reich's "bottom up" bullshit get's ya -

Gardner lists several tax hikes that Congress and the Biden administration may pass in the currently polarized political climate. They include:

Raising the corporate income tax rate to 28% from 21%.

Doubling the global intangible low-taxed income rate to 21% from 10.5%.

Lifting the top tax rate to 39.6% from 37% for individuals making over $400,000.

Taxing capital gains as ordinary income (at a top tax rate of 39.6%) for those earning more than $1 million a year.

Hiking the estate tax rate to 45% from 40% for assets worth more than $1 million.

Interestingly, the market appears to be betting tax hikes of any kind are unlikely to happen or that they will happen so far off into the distance that riding optimism on the pandemic recovery makes better sense.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 7.2% on the year, while the S&P 500 has gained 5%. Both major indices continue to hover around record highs. But pros contend that tax hikes could pose a problem to the bullish sentiment on Wall Street.

For his part, Gardner warns hiking the capital gains tax alone could be a headwind to the stock market. Meanwhile, an increase in corporate taxes could take a bite out of corporate America's profits and the multiples stocks are able to fetch.

Recall then 2020 presidential candidate Biden put forth reversing half of former President Donald Trump’s signature tax cuts, lifting the statutory rate to 28%. Investment bank Credit Suisse estimated this change in taxes would increase the effective rate by 4% to 5%, and slash $9 off estimated S&P 500 earnings per share. Goldman Sachs projected that Biden’s tax plan would lead it to reduce its 2021 earnings estimate by 12%.

Doing so may also retard the post-pandemic economic recovery.

"An increase in the corporate income tax rate to 28% would reduce economic output by 0.8% in the long run, while reducing the capital stock by 2.1%. Under a 25% tax rate, economic output would be 0.4% lower and the capital stock would be 1.1% smaller," researchers at the Tax Foundation wrote in a recent paper.

How Biden Quietly Created a Huge Social Program
Washington Post
:
“An unlikely coalition of Democrats across the ideological spectrum mounted an 11th-hour push in the final weekend before the American Rescue Plan for President Biden to go big on tackling child poverty. They prevailed over what one person involved in the process called the “cost police” in Biden’s inner circle, those anxiously warning about the ballooning cost of the stimulus package.

“This under-the-radar success created what could be the most consequential piece of the $1.9 trillion package — one that, if made permanent, could approach the impact of the programs established under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty.

“The sudden, unexpected creation of an approximately $120 billion social program has thrown a twist into the political landscape. Some Democrats now fear being labeled big-government spenders in the upcoming midterms. Some conservatives, on the other hand, are embracing the idea as a family-friendly measure.”

Biden Moves to Shore Up Obamacare
CNN:
“In his first two months in office, Biden has taken several steps to bolster the landmark health reform law, which marks its 11th anniversary on Tuesday, and to embed it even more firmly in the nation’s health care system. Former President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak Monday about how the Affordable Care Act has benefited Americans and how the Democrats’ $1.9 trillion relief package, which Biden signed into law earlier this month, has strengthened the law.

“Aided by the stimulus package, the Biden administration is making these moves even before its top health officials are in place. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra was only confirmed on Thursday, while the President’s pick to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, has yet to go before the Senate.”

The Atlantic: Why Obamacare survived.

Biden’s Next Challenge Is Vaccine Diplomacy
AXIOS:
“The U.S. accounts for 27% of the world’s coronavirus vaccine production, but 0% of the global supply beyond its own borders. Critics and allies alike say it’s time for that to change,” Axios reports.

“China has gotten a head start on vaccine diplomacy, sending millions of doses all over the globe, including to Latin America. Experts say it’s in America’s interests to compete in the race to vaccinate the world, and the calls to start doing so are getting louder.”
_________
James says:
We have done so well. We now have about 32% of our people vaccinated, far more than most of the world, and we need to plow ahead to attain real immunity.

But we also need to start showing concern for the needy in other countries.

Meanwhile, stupidities are occurring in states and countries that foolishly are opening up too quickly, as Europe is sadly learning, and as Miami is demonstrating.

"Sedition occurs when anyone opposes by force the authority of the United States, or by force hinders or delays the execution of any law of the United States."

panty raids do not fall under the sedition statute.

and alky, it would help if at least one of the panty raiders were actually charged with sedition. we can't even seem to reconcile the "armed" part of your phony "armed insurrection" narrative.

stick to give Hospice Joe false credit for covid progress, m'kay?

LOL.

...could approach the impact of the programs established under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty.

so we can expect even MORE poverty? because that's what we've gotten under LBJ's promise to "have those ni@@ers voting democrat for the next 200 years."

"War On Poverty" (LOL) to date has spent roughly $20 TRILLION. and poverty continues apace. why, you ask? because giving the poor free shit in exchange for voting democrat only gets you more poverty with democrats to oversee it and keep the cycle of government dependency alive.

If poverty were ever eradicated the democrat party would collapse.

and democrats KNOW THIS.

welfare, section 8 and EBT are not a path out of poverty. if they were, we wouldn't still be fighting the "war" 53 years later.

question for the alky -

Why has Trump not yet been charged with Sedition. You and your MSDNC nutbag claim the evidence is there and it's irrefutable.

So alky, why has Trump not been charged with Sedition?

That will be right after he is indicted for tax and insurance fraud!!!!!! BWAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

On Jan 6th President Trump was still president so I guess anyone acting against him was a Seditionist.

Guess that also includes the whole "resistance" and "not my president" crowd.

Lots of buildings burned and violence from the day he took office including on federal lands. And many prominent democrats encouraged them including the now Asian identifying Harris and Hillary and Nancy for starters.

I think Trump would consider that a fair trade.

He actually loves this country

Fauci refusing to embrace first dose first (vaccinated everyone with one dose before anyone with two doses) will get many many people killed. It is a moral, Public health, and scientific disaster.

Ryan Grim

The number of major mistakes made by Fauci is just incredible.

a true Trump disaster was listening to Fauci

Illegal immigrant: "Definitely not"

ABC: "Did you come because Joe Biden was elected President?"

Illegal: "Basically, basically"

That’s the story. Trump protected our border and Joe Biden opened it.

Dear White Liberals: Asians Aren’t Your Pawns

I had a conversation with my brother in Oregon, last night. Besides the usual family matters, he brought up a call he received from a ‘friend.’ The friend wanted to check on my brother and the family amidst rising violence toward Asian Americans. While my brother appreciated the gesture, he told his friend that it wasn’t necessary. The friend said he had been concerned about all the anti-Asian violence ever since Trump and the “China” virus rhetoric.

The friend knows my brother is a staunch conservative, so my brother got irritated. He asked the dude, what’s Trump got to do with the Georgia shootings and where was his phone call last year? The friend said he didn’t get what my brother was getting at. My brother replied that there were over 3,800 incidents of anti-Asian violence last year, yet you didn’t check on us. The friend said he didn’t know. My brother said, of course not—because no one besides us Asians cared. But now that you see a perp is a white male from the South, you start to care. You have to make this about YOU making a political statement rather than really caring about us, the Asian Americans.

My brother is correct. How can we trust and believe your sentiments when you didn’t care last year when we pleaded for assistance? The district attorneys in the Bay area and NYC acted blind to our plight. The national mainstream media didn’t lend us their ear nor their voice because the narrative didn’t fit.

But, now, you care.

You use our victimhood, turning it into your political gains—whether to infringe on the 2A or keep portraying Trump as that boogeyman. You sided with the rich NBA players over the freedom fighters of Hong Kong. You sided with Disney and NIKE over the lives and the dignity of the Uighurs in western China. You praised Antifa while they harassed and doxxed a gay Asian journalist. You sided with the rioters and looters that stole, robbed, and burned down our shops and businesses all last summer.

Yesterday, we found out the killer in the Georgia shooting rampage is a disturbed young man who is an Asian fetishist. Not exactly the perp that my brother’s friend wished for. I find it twisted and sick that there are a lot of white folks who get a ‘hard on’ for minorities’ victimhood. It’s as reprehensible as someone who has an Asian sexual fetish. Which is confusing—because one moment we are categorized with the ‘Whites’ when we are applying for colleges and universities and we don’t get the same affirmative action benefits of other POC when applying for a job— yet we are marginalized victims again, to serve your political purpose.

So we are just pawns.

My brother told his ‘friend,’ or his ‘ally,’ to snap out of trying to be the white savior. It was clear to my brother that the phone call was about the dude’s self righteousness and it was more self-serving than a true concern for the welfare and well-being of our family or any other Asians. My apologies, if my brother and I and some of our fellow Asians respond with indignation.

You’ve written us off. You’ve ignored us. And you didn’t care for so long. But, now, you tell us you care? Don’t play us for fools. We see you for the hypocritical players that you are.

Yeah... remember all of that "caring" when BLM was burning Asian-owned business to the fucking ground?

Good times.

The President slipped because he was hit with a hurricane-force wind burst caused by global warming. There was also some, uh, fried chicken grease left over from the Trump administration that made the steps extra slippery.
