A real look at race on race violence

Much has been made about an "increase" in violence against Asians but what does that mean?

Source: Bureau of Justice Statistics

Here are the actual unbiased reported violence crimes committed as sorted by race by both victim and perpetrator. This does not separate between violence crimes across races that are deemed "hate" crimes by some vs those that are not deemed to be "hate" crimes. Those particular distinctions are 100% a judgement call with no real across the board standard. This statistic comes from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and is just tracking violent crimes committed regardless of what it is called.

What it shows is that there are about five million violent crimes reported in an average year. Of these five million about three million of those are intraracial and the remaining two million are interracial. In other words about 60% of all violent crimes are situation where both the victim and perpetrator are of the same race and 40% are interracial. How does the interracial portion breaks down:

By perpetrator:
  • Blacks commit about 711K violent crimes against other races
  • Hispanics commit about 423K violent crimes against other races
  • Whites commit about 311K violence crimes against other races
  • Asians commit about 83K violence crimes against other races
  • The rest are committed by other races or multiracial groups

By victim:
  • Whites are the victim in 1.357 million interracial violent crimes
  • Hispanics are the victim in 400K interracial violence crimes
  • Blacks are the victim in 167K interracial violent crimes
  • Asians are the victims in 138K interracial violent crimes

If we concentrate on the last statistic, it will show you that about 2600 interracial violent crimes a week are reported against Asians. That's a lot. When I read on twitter that there have been over 3800 attacks on Asians since March of 2020, I understand that people will attach themselves to, bend, and twist anything that they hear. It's literally just an example of something that is generally never reported (attacks on Asians), suddenly being reported as new news. The sad truth is that the real number is quite literally about 30-40 times what is being reported. If it was really only 3800, that would be an improvement of massive proportions.

In this case, the media provides a narrative (that Asians are under attack because people blame them for the Covid virus) and then we report some interracial attacks and attribute it to the narrative. It's a clever trick, but one that is just as dishonest as our media is in general. Nobody in the media is interested in reporting the news, they are fixated on creating the news. Are Asians generally unfairly subjected to racial issues in this country? It wouldn't seem so based on statistics.

Victims of interracial violent crimes by percentage
  • 1.82% of White are victims of interracial violent crimes
  • 1.68% of Hispanics are victims of interracial violent crimes
  • 0.94% of Asians are victims of interracial violent crimes
  • 0.93% of Blacks are victims of interracial violent crimes

What does that tell us? That a White person is about two times more likely to be a victim of an interracial violent crime than either an Asian or a Black person. Meanwhile Hispanics are about 1.75 times more likely to be a victim of interracial violent crimes than either Blacks or Asians. Does this surprise anyone? It probably shouldn't, but if you are stupid enough to trust that the media is providing you with facts rather than rhetoric, then you might be surprised. Because to hear it told, Blacks are the oppressed race and always seen as the victims. Recently Asians have joined the fray since the Covid (aka Chinese flu) has come along. But in reality, both lag well behind Whites and Hispanics as it pertains to being victims of violent crimes.

In case anyone is wondering the largest particular race on race violent crime is black on white, with nearly 548K Black on White violent crimes. That is more than double the 207K White on Black crimes reported every year. Again, if that surprises you then you are probably little more than a slave to the media rhetoric and should probably pull your head out of your own ass before it's too late.

So ultimately we don't know at this point whether or not there has actually been an increase in interracial attacks against Asians. We don't have any solid 2020 numbers to go on and the numbers being reported are woefully low for what would really be happening. What has increased is the coverage of interracial attacks on Asians. That is all we can prove at this point.

Your numbers don't mean that racism doesn't exist.

You distort Thecoldheartedtruth because you hate liberals.

The economic disparity between the races contributes to increased violence.

If the President Biden's decreases economic disparity, the rate of violence will decrease. History demonstrates that.

They are not "my" numbers, Roger.

They are from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and are objective and real based on everything that has been reported year by year. But I guess that would be your problem, huh? Using raw numbers that are not otherwise massaged and glossed over by CNN or WaPo is apparently dishonest?

but I am curious Roger...

Why do you believe that reporting that there are approximately 2 million interracial violent crimes is some suggestion that "racism" doesn't exist?

Wouldn't 2 million interracial violent crimes suggest that in fact racism is alive and well?

Or is your problem that you are tied to the "liberal" belief that the "only" racism is from "white people" and that there is otherwise no other racial issues outside of "whitey"?

The fake news New York times, give credit to the former's Warp Speed program.

‘Not Equipped for a Gunfight’

The European Union trailed the United States and Britain from the start.

Washington had already spent billions on clinical trials and manufacturing by the time Europe decided to pool its resources and negotiate as a bloc. In mid-June, the European Commission, the bloc’s executive branch, announced a joint vaccine purchase with a $3.2 billion pot.

In Washington, Operation Warp Speed, the Trump administration’s vaccine program, had a $10 billion budget. European officials say it’s unfair to compare the two figures because neither amount is a complete picture of all the money spent on vaccines. But there is no dispute that in Washington, officials had decided that money was no object if vaccines could avert the economic cost of a lockdown. Europe, on the other hand, was on a tight budget, so its negotiators chased cheaper doses.

My only complaint is that he hid the data because he didn't want to hurt Wallstreet and didn't start Operation Warp Speed until May. Or March.

They didn't ban Asian Americans.

You were fine with Fauci, Birx and other medical experts suggesting back in March that the virus wouldn't escape China or that we didn't have to shut down travel or that wearing masks was not going to help. I am not trying to draw any conclusions as to "why" Roger. I am simply pointing out the FACT that white people are about two times more likely to be victims of interracial violent crimes than Blacks and Asians.

I am also accurately pointing out that the media narrative would have you believe the opposite. That it's white people committing most of the interracial crimes and that Blacks (and now Asians) are predominantly the victims.

Asians do better financially than Blacks. Absolutely. This certainly contributes to crime and violence. But what comes first, Roger? The chicken or the egg? Why do Asians seem so capable of pulling themselves up by their bootstraps and making a living, while black people seem more drawn to give up and decide that crime and violence is the way of live?

I might offer that it is largely social (or cultural) and is based to some degree as to how the two races are raised. Asians push their children to succeed in an almost nutty fashion. Getting a "B" was called an Asian "F" by the standards of many Asians I know. Meanwhile, where is the same over the top drive to succeed from the Black culture? How are blacks raised and what are does that culture glorify and look up to?

President Donald Trump acknowledged the “deadly” nature of the coronavirus earlier this year in a series of recorded interviews with The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward, even as Trump publicly sought to dismiss the disease’s threat to Americans.

Recounting a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump told Woodward on Feb. 7 that the coronavirus is “more deadly than your, you know, your — even your strenuous flus.”

“This is more deadly,” he said. “This is five per — you know, this is 5 percent versus 1 percent and less than 1 percent, you know. So, this is deadly stuff.”

Woodward conducted 18 on-the-record interviews with the president between last December and July to gather material for the veteran journalist’s forthcoming book on the Trump White House.

Excerpts of those conversations were published Wednesday by the Post, including an exchange between Trump and Woodward in which the president revealed he was eager to downplay the coronavirus outbreak so as not to alarm Americans.

“I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down,” Trump said on March 19. “Because I don’t want to create a panic.”

He kept the information from Fauci and Birx. Because they didn't know how dangerous it was, they didn't know that masking would save thousands of lives.

So they didn't know that the virus could escape China because the former withheld the information, they said didn't have to shut down travel or that wearing masks was not going to help.

Despite the fact that he not a epidemiologist, means that you are the idiot.

Since the Reagan era, income disparity has increased astronomicaly and again it leads to violence.

Counties in the United States with greater gaps between rich and poor have a higher rate of homicide deaths involving firearms, according to a national study by researchers at the University of Washington School of Public Health. These same counties experienced higher levels of crime and poverty, and lower levels of community social networks.

The study, published today in Injury Prevention, sought to quantify the association between county-level income inequality and the number of firearm homicide victims per 100,000 residents in the county.

Researchers found this association to be positively correlated when looking at all races together and at individual race and ethnic groups. It was especially persistent among African-American populations. In this group, the firearm homicide rate was almost 10 percent higher for every 0.04 greater value of the Gini index, a common measure of income inequality.

“This study examines the distribution of county-level income inequality and the magnitude of its association with gun homicide rates. These findings aim to help shift the underlying societal forces that produce, fuel, or sustain violence at the population level,” said lead author and Associate Professor of Epidemiology Ali Rowhani-Rahbar.

Rowhani-Rahbar and his colleagues from the UW Department of Epidemiology, including assistant professor Anjum Hajat, adjunct professor Frederick Rivara, alumnus Duane Alexander Quistberg, and current doctoral student Erin Morgan used U.S. Census data from 1990 and 2000 to look at the distribution of income in 3,106 counties to create a Gini index.

The team hypothesized that the stresses on a community from income inequality are felt over time, so they chose to analyze the association with firearm homicide rates between 5 and 15 years after their measures of income inequality. Using the All-county Mortality Microdata maintained by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the researchers looked at the firearm homicide deaths rates between 2005 and 2015, specifically at individuals between the ages of 14 and 39, an age group with the highest firearm homicide rate in the United States.

Income inequality has increased in the United States since the late 1970s. Previous research has found that greater income inequality is associated with higher levels of stress and crime, declining trust in others, and a decrease in social capital or networks of people, such as church groups and neighborhood associations.

“This study adds to the existing body of literature on the negative consequences of income inequality,” Rowhani-Rahbar said. “We need to promote policies that help close the gap between the rich and the poor, which may also have the potential to reduce firearm violence.”

The President Sleepy Joe American Recovery Program will greatly reduce income disparity among African Americans, violence will decrease astronomicaly.

Former Trump Adviser:
It Was a ‘Big Mistake’ Officials Did Not Advocate for Mask Wearing Earlier

February 21, 2021

Former Deputy National Security Adviser Matt Pottinger says health experts made a “big mistake” in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic by not encouraging Americans to wear face coverings and claiming they were not effective.

In an interview with CBS’ Margaret Brennan that aired on Sunday, Pottinger said officials “misjudged the nature” of the coronavirus “to think that it was like flu.”

“One of the mistakes that followed on from that was the misjudgment by public health officials in this country to not advocate for the widespread generalized use of face coverings,” Pottinger said.

But it’s Trump’s fault he relied on the NIH and CDC that didn’t say mask wearing was good until April 3rd?

Some believe that Woodrow Wilson’s wife Edith ran the federal executive branch after the president had a stroke in October 1919. Even the Obama White House said she “functionally” was in charge of the administration “for the remainder of Wilson’s second term.” At least Wilson started his presidency in a sentient state. Not sure the same can be said of Joe Biden.

It’s clear that the 46th president of the United States is impaired. He has yet to face the media, waiting longer to hold his first press conference than any president in the last 100 years.

Biden’s team has finally scheduled a news conference, announcing Tuesday he’d be up for it on – March 25. Why the long run-up? Will it take his handlers that long to ensure that he doesn’t have a blowout while talking to the press? There’s a transparency problem, as Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany has pointed out. Biden aides are doing nothing to inspire the country’s confidence in the man.

But then again, there’s not much to be confident about. Some recent evidence of note:

“Bubble Biden clearly not up for tough questions – or the job,” says the New York Post headline of Michael Goodwin’s March 16 column. Goodwin reminds readers that after “Biden’s lone interview since taking office,” the White House was forced to clean up his comments about Donald Trump receiving intelligence briefings, the $15 minimum wage campaign, and Iran’s nuclear program.
In late February, Biden famously rambled on about losing track of his thoughts and wondering where he was.
On Tuesday he claimed he’d arranged an $800 billion aid package for Central American countries in 2014 (actual amount was around $750 million). And on Thursday, Biden referred to “President Harris.”
Earlier this month, the bumbling president called Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin “the guy who runs that outfit.”
Biden ended his session at the House Democrats 2021 Issues Conference saying “I’m happy to take questions if that’s what you want me to do,” at which point he was given the modern-day version of the Vaudeville hook to, obviously, prevent him from making yet another public spectacle of himself.
Former White House stenographer Mike McCormick, who spent six years at “Biden’s side as he met with world leaders, delivered speeches and interacted with members of the news media,” told one-time Trump aide Steve Bannon in January that he estimated the president’s cognitive abilities have fallen by half in recent years.
McCormick told the Washington Free Beacon last September that the Democratic candidate is “not the same Joe Biden,” and that “he’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago.”
Given how evident Biden’s troubles are, we have to wonder, almost two months into his presidency, why aren’t the left-wing networks bringing mental health professionals to analyze Biden and declare him erratic, dangerous, and unfit, to scare the country, as they did Donald Trump?

Actually, we don’t wonder. We know: As Bob Dylan and Jacques Levy wrote in “Hurricane,” the media “all went along for the ride.”

Earlier in our history, with no television, no internet, it would have been easy to cover up a president’s deficiencies. But not today. Biden’s fading faculties are obvious, even as his aides try to hide them by limiting his exposure.

So who is running things at the White House? Is First Lady Jill Biden playing the role of Edith Wilson? After all, she has often been at her husband’s side when the cameras have been on, sometimes helping him with his comments and responses. But she wasn’t on the ballot. Voters didn’t choose her.

No matter who is in charge, if it isn’t Biden, then his presidency is a fraud. To answer our own question, we’re convinced that we’ve never had a president like this before, possibly dishonestly elected, and certainly insufficient in his abilities. We’re embarrassed for our country.

Historic Failure George W. Bush, Who Ushered In Obama's Revolutionary Socialism Through His Fecklessness and Incompetence, Predicts That the GOP Will Return To Being a Corporate Shill Party

This mental deficient handles his cocaine use like he handles his war-fighting like he handles his peanut-swallowing.

Former President George W. Bush predicted a dim future for former President Donald Trump's political career in a taped interview broadcast Thursday, saying that "these populist movements begin to fritter over time."

Bush delivered remarks in a taped interview shown at the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the 2020 election and the future of American democracy, USA Today reported.

Although out of office and banned from Twitter, Trump appears to have maintained influence over the GOP during the early days of the Biden administration. Trump won the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll by a wide margin, earning 55% of the votes while the second-place finisher, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, came in at 21%.

So 76% of the party's stalwarts support either Trump or a Trumpian populist, DeSantis.

But yeah, George, we're going to go back to being The Party of Jeb!

Speaking about the Capitol riots, Bush said that he felt "sick to [his] stomach" as he watched the attack unfold. Bush described the rioters as "hostile forces who, by storming the Capitol, made a direct attack against American democracy.

What a shock, this Kennebunkport liberal repeats the lines of his liberal media and liberal Deep State pals.

Opposing Kennebunkport "Konservatives" and voting to purge the Bush family out of public life is an Act of Love.

When Andrew Sullivan is a voice of reason we’ve gone round the bend

The massacres at three massage parlors in the Atlanta area this week, leaving eight human beings dead, others injured, and their families scarred, were horrifying. Read this deeply moving story about the son of one of the women killed to remind yourself of this. It’s brutal. The grief will spread and resonate some more.

But this story has also been deeply instructive about our national discourse and the state of the American mainstream and elite media. This story’s coverage is proof, it seems to me, that American journalists have officially abandoned the habit of attempting any kind of “objectivity” in reporting these stories. We are now in the enlightened social justice world of “moral clarity” and “narrative-shaping.”

Here’s the truth: We don’t yet know why this man did these horrible things. It’s probably complicated, or, as my therapist used to say, “multi-determined.” That’s why we have thorough investigations and trials in America. We only have one solid piece of information as to motive, which is the confession by the mass killer to law enforcement: that he was a religious fundamentalist who was determined to live up to chastity and repeatedly failed, as is often the case. Like the 9/11 bombers or the mass murderer at the Pulse nightclub, he took out his angst on the source of what he saw as his temptation, and committed mass murder. This is evil in the classic fundamentalist sense: a perversion of religion and sexual repression into violence.

We should not take the killer’s confession as definitive, of course. But we can probe it — and indeed, his story is backed up by acquaintances and friends and family. The New York Times originally ran one piece reporting this out. The Washington Post also followed up, with one piece citing contemporaneous evidence of the man’s “religious mania” and sexual compulsion. It appears that the man frequented at least two of the spas he attacked. He chose the spas, his ex roommates said, because he thought they were safer than other ways to get easy sex. Just this morning, the NYT ran a second piece which confirms that the killer had indeed been in rehab for sexual impulses, was a religious fanatic, and his next target was going to be “a business tied to the pornography industry.”

We have yet to find any credible evidence of anti-Asian hatred or bigotry in this man’s history. Maybe we will. We can’t rule it out. But we do know that his roommates say they once asked him if he picked the spas for sex because the women were Asian. And they say he denied it, saying he thought those spas were just the safest way to have quick sex. That needs to be checked out more. But the only piece of evidence about possible anti-Asian bias points away, not toward it.

And yet. Well, you know what’s coming. Accompanying one original piece on the known facts, the NYT ran nine — nine! — separate stories about the incident as part of the narrative that this was an anti-Asian hate crime, fueled by white supremacy and/or misogyny. Not to be outdone, the WaPo ran sixteen separate stories on the incident as an anti-Asian white supremacist hate crime. Sixteen! One story for the facts; sixteen stories on how critical race theory would interpret the event regardless of the facts. For good measure, one of their columnists denounced reporting of law enforcement’s version of events in the newspaper, because it distracted attention from the “real” motives. Today, the NYT ran yet another full-on critical theory piece disguised as news on how these murders are proof of structural racism and sexism — because some activists say they are.

If the state of New York requests extradition of the former, DeSantis In theory, he only has the power to make certain the extradition documents are in order.  But Florida law provides that when an extradition demand is made, the Governor of Florida may instruct any prosecutor he chooses “to investigate or assist in investigating the demand, and to report to him or her the situation and circumstances of the person so demanded, and whether the person ought to be surrendered.”  The statute is silent as to the scope of the investigation or the length of time that such an investigation can continue.  It is also silent as to what conditions affect “whether the person ought to be surrendered.”

Just as Trump has stonewalled, delayed or ignored the rule of law, his acolyte DeSantis can stave off the day of judgment for his mentor, perhaps indefinitely. He can insist he is in the process of investigating, until some court orders him it is time to wind it up. That ruling could then go through the federal court system, to the Supreme Court.

Once his investigation is concluded, DeSantis can then find that Trump “ought [not] be surrendered.” That too can inch through the appellate system. And finally,  DeSantis can contend that Justice Marshall’s overruling of the fugitive slave extradition case was wrongly decided and see whether the conservative bloc will rediscover federalism and allow the extradition to be refused. That final decision would leave Trump to avoid the day of judgment and remain “the Prisoner of Mar-a-Lago.”

That would perhaps effect the Georgia charges because the governor is a Republican.

Law and Order doesn't matter to you Scott.

President Biden is being hailed as a transformational, once-in-a-generation progressive champion, with comparisons to L.B.J. and F.D.R. aplenty, while Obama has become a cautionary tale about what happens when Democrats get the keys to the car but don’t put their foot on the gas.

The collective smirk was wiped off the face of Obamaworld this past week, as former aides expressed their irritation at the retrospective dissing, and while Biden’s inner circle enjoyed an unfamiliar sensation: schadenfreude. Now the friendly fire once aimed at Biden is coming toward Obama.

All month long, Democrats have been trashing Obama for the size of his itty-bitty 2009 stimulus bill — Chuck Schumer called it “small” and “measly” — and his refusal to sell it to the public.

Now, after President Biden passed the $1.9 trillion cornucopia of liberal delights, Democrats are thinking that if he keeps it up, they’ll soon be picking up their chisels to carve his face on Mount Rushmore, right in the spot Obama must have been picturing for himself.

Creaky, old-fashioned Joe moved fast and broke things. Unlike the sleek, modern Obama, who kept trying to work with obstructionist Republicans, Biden blew them off, calling it “an easy choice.”

Progressives, who had fretted that Biden would govern in a centrist hell, trapped in a sepia, split-the-difference Washington where Mitch McConnell would eat his lunch, were pleasantly surprised.

The lackluster Democratic response to the Great Recession, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told The Times’s Astead Herndon, “created so much damage economically, for people, but it also created a lot of political damage for the party.”

Obama’s failure to go big and to send the tumbrels rolling down Wall Street certainly greased the runway for Donald Trump. The paradox of Obama is that Americans embraced radical change by electing him but then he held himself in check, mistakenly believing that he was all the change they could handle.
--------
Obama was too cautious. He tried to work with the Republicans, his recovery bill was too cautious. Sleepy Joe isn't Sleepy.

Sometimes caught my attention.

This might be the next Microsoft or Amazon investment.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation. It’s a project launched by SpaceX, the space company founded by Elon Musk. Starlink’s goal is to make internet services available to everyone, regardless of geographic location. The satellites require a clear view of the sky, but they don’t require ground structures.

Starlink satellites are in low Earth orbit (LEO). They’re positioned at an altitude of 550 kilometers, half the average satellite’s altitude. Additionally, a Starlink satellite will automatically de-orbit at the end of its useful life. It will also do this in the event of a system malfunction. After de-orbiting, the satellite will burn up in Earth’s atmosphere. While satellites at a higher altitude take hundreds of years to burn, Starlink’s low-orbit satellites will burn up in about one to five years.

After a tweet from Musk about a Starlink IPO, investors want to know just how far along the company is.

Starlink’s Mission Progress

Starlink’s latest mission launched January 20 at 8 a.m. ET. Each mission launches 60 new satellites, and this marked Starlink’s 17th mission. The company now has more than 1,000 satellites in orbit, a big jump from the approximately 250 satellites it had last year. Starlink claims it needed 800 satellites to begin providing internet services.

Now Starlink is in beta testing. The company has about 10,000 users. To see if Starlink offers service in your area, you can go to the Starlink website. Starlink’s homepage features an order form for pre-orders. The service costs only $99 a month.

But the actual cost upfront is $600. In addition to the monthly payment, consumers have a one-time $499 fee for a Starlink kit. It includes…

A tripodA Wi-Fi routerA terminal to connect to the Starlink constellation.

Starlink told beta users to expect data speeds varying from 50 megabytes per second (mb/s) to 150 mb/s and latency varying from 20 milliseconds to 40 milliseconds. The company plans to continue improving the system during the beta phase. It’s currently available in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Starlink plans to have 42,000 satellites in orbit by mid-2027.

It's stock will be available later this year.

How the government shifted its “Counter-Extremism” strategy to target the mainstream.

The narrative is here, and it doesn’t like you very much.

In recent remarks before members of the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, the chief of the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency claimed that domestic extremism has become “part of the cultural mainstream.”

Former DHS official and USA Today contributor Elizabeth Neumann agrees: “Far-Right Extremists went mainstream under Trump.”

“Extremists have gone mainstream,” echoes journalist Zahra Ahmad. “Lawyers, realtors and every-day folks make up their ranks.” Ahmad cites a figure suggesting a quarter of Americans hold “ideas incubated by white nationalists.”

Not to be left out, NPR warns that white extremism “seeps” into the mainstream. The Atlantic says the mainstream has gone extremist too. A study by the Chicago Project on Security and Threats warns that most January 6 “insurrectionists” were mainstream to the extreme:

They work as CEOs, shop owners, doctors, lawyers, IT specialists, and accountants. Strikingly, court documents indicate that only 9 percent are unemployed. Of the earlier far-right extremist suspects we studied, 61 percent were under 35, 25 percent were unemployed, and almost none worked in white-collar occupations.
The Chicago Project is led by Robert Pape, a University of Chicago academic best known for declaring that Islamic extremism plays no role in suicide bombings and who once urged a U.S. government-identified front group for the terror organization Hamas to purchase copies to promote his book. So it’s an open question whether Pape and company can actually identify extremism when they see it.

But what does it say about America’s elites—security officials, academics, and media personalities—that they are all convinced that those holding the prevailing attitudes and values of our society are a dangerous threat? And a threat to whom?

To paraphrase famed fictional lawman Raylan Givens, “If you ran into an extremist in the morning, you ran into an extremist. But if you run into extremists all day…”

Perhaps it’s you who’s the extremist.

How did we get here? And what do we do about it?
