More proof that liberal media is stupid, stupid, stupid

THE FRIDAY COVER: The Rise of the Biden Republicans

The pollster who identified “Reagan Democrats” in the 1980s sees the emergence of a mirror image voting bloc. And it spells trouble for a GOP dominated by Trump.

Something important happened: In leaning too hard into white identity politics—and perhaps being too focused on what he thought Reagan Democrats wanted—Trump accelerated the rise of a new voting bloc that is, in many ways, the mirror image of the Reagan Democrats. Call them the Biden Republicans.

Perhaps the "rise" of the Biden Republicans might actually be a fitting title, if the article was in fact addressing the fact that no Candidate since Walter Mondale has gotten a smaller percentage of the Republican vote than Joe Biden. In that case, the article might be addressing the reality that there would be no place for the "Biden Republicans" to go but up.

But let's be clear. Nationally, Donald Trump got approximately 95% of the Republican vote, which is a dominating and remarkable feat, given the outrageous amount of media and political attacks against him. After all, we are talking about a guy impeached twice (for no real reason other than Pelosi and the Democrats could and didn't like him). Yet he managed to hold his Party together like no other candidate since Reagan. There were literally less Biden Republicans during the previous election results, than there were Clinton Republicans, Obama Republicans, Kerry Republicans, Gore Republicans, Clinton Republicans, or even Dukakis Republicans.

Yeah, I know. Look at me using actual hard election numbers to prove my point. Why don't I just listen to some liberal pollster who obviously knows better than what the electorate actually did just a handful of months ago. After all, opinion in 2021 beats facts. In fact, opinion is fact and fact is opinion in 2021. We should all understand that proving something with actual things that can be shown to be tangibly true is likely racist and otherwise not woke. It may also lead you to being cancelled.

Which all, of course, is designed specifically to provide silly media narratives to survive even without any actual tangible evidence. Sort of like that March 4th QAnon insurrection that was all the rage until it March 5th came and we noticed it actually didn't happen, or at least should have noticed. But I am sure there is some pollster somewhere who will take a survey and make a determination that 85% of Democrats believe that QAnon actually did come to the Capital on March 4th and that Joe Biden himself led the 15,000 troops to a successful battle victory. With the right narrative, they will believe he rode a horse, had glimmering gold armor, and carried a really cool sword.

Joe Biden Makes History!

** Joe Biden is now the first US President in 100 years NOT to hold a press conference in his first 30 days in office.
He can’t.

** Joe Biden is the first US President NOT to hold a State of the Union Address or Joint Session of Congress Address in almost 100 years. It's scheduled for this month.

** And Joe Biden is the first US President to COMPLETELY OPEN the US Southern border to illegal aliens, even sick ones, during a pandemic.

Paul Ryan is a Biden Republican per Scott a****e

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan is hosting a fundraising event on behalf of Rep. Liz Cheney — thumbing his nose at former President Trump’s push to oust the Republican from office next year.

The Ryan fundraiser, reported by Politico, is scheduled for March 25. The suggested contributions for a “co-host” is $5,800 and $2,900 for an attendee.

Yet he claims he’s free to come and go and only a half mile from the beach. I’ve probably been on the beach at Redondo and Hermosa in the last couple of years more than he has and I live in the ATL

SLDS is inspired by Fox news and again CH.

As of this date Fox News has not aired a single White House press briefing, which the Biden team has returned to doing daily. Nor have they aired a single daily press conferences by the White House COVID-19 Response Team. Recall that Fox News aired every similar event during the Trump administration. Fox didn't even air the congressional hearings on the January 6th Trump Insurrection. Because like you said that on January 6th it was not an Insurrection!

The current Republican party is the party of Jim Crow.

These efforts at disenfranchisement are more numerous, and more discriminatory, in several of the swing states President Biden carried narrowly: Arizona, Pennsylvania and Georgia. That should come as no surprise. GOP officials who had the temerity to follow the law and count the November vote honestly, such as Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, have been all but excommunicated by their state Republican Party organizations.

In Georgia — where not only did Donald Trump lose to Biden by 11,779 votes, but also two incumbent GOP senators were defeated by Democratic challengers — Republicans are using their control of the statehouse to try to eliminate all early voting on Sundays. That would put an end to “Souls to the Polls,” a popular Sunday get-out-the-vote initiative in which Black churches help parishioners get to polling places and cast their ballots.

“Souls to the Polls” eliminates barriers to voting that thousands of Black Georgians otherwise might face, such as transportation for the elderly or finding time during the workweek for others. Georgia Republicans want to put those barriers back up — and raise them even higher.

Other proposals being pushed by Georgia GOP state legislators include getting rid of no-excuse absentee voting, which has been allowed for decades; eliminating the use of convenient drop boxes for casting absentee votes; and abolishing automatic voter registration at the Department of Driver Services offices where Georgians go to renew their driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.

Trump’s wild and false claims of election fraud aren’t the only things driving these efforts; Republican efforts to restrict voting are hardly new. Republican officials in Georgia know the state’s electorate at a granular level and are capable of performing basic addition and subtraction. They see how the populous suburbs around Atlanta, once GOP strongholds, have been steadily trending Democratic. They may not be able to halt that process. But perhaps they can compensate by suppressing the African American vote in economically disadvantaged areas of Atlanta proper; in the wide “Black Belt” stretching southwest across the state, roughly from Augusta to Columbus; and in the heavily African American area around Savannah.

In strongly Hispanic Arizona, which Biden won by 10,457 votes and where the Brennan Center tallies 19 voter-suppression bills filed since the election, the state Senate has rejected — for now — a Republican measure that would have stricken roughly 200,000 names from a list of voters who automatically receive mail-in ballots. That courtesy is considered the primary reason most Arizonans cast their votes by mail.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The current Republican party is the party of Jim Crow.

But another still-pending measure would require early ballots to be hand-delivered to a polling place rather than returned by mail, negating the benefits of mail voting. And another proposed bill would simply disregard the will of the voters altogether, allowing the GOP-controlled state legislature to appoint its own slate of presidential electors. Democracy, after all, can be so inconvenient.

Elsewhere across the country, Republican legislators are trying to tighten voter-identification laws that are already too restrictive. And they are trying to find ways to disqualify more mail-in ballots — perhaps for future occasions when GOP candidates need to “find” enough favorable votes, or lose enough adverse ones, to deny victory to a Democrat.

It amounts to an outrageous and shameful attempt to establish and perpetuate minority rule in a nation in which the Republican candidate for president has won the popular vote only once in the past eight elections.

At the state level, Democrats must fight these efforts relentlessly. And at the federal level, they should use any means necessary — including eliminating or suspending the Senate filibuster — to pass H.R. 1, the “For the People Act,” which would invalidate much of the most anti-democratic legislation the GOP is trying to enact.

And voters of color must resolve not to be deterred. This is not a “Whites only” democracy. Not anymore.

Kputz shut the fuck up

The Senate passed a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package on Saturday as Democrats rush to send out a fresh round of aid they say will bolster the country through the final stages of the pandemic.

The chamber approved the plan in a party line vote as Republicans questioned the need for another broad spending package. The Democratic-held House aims to pass the bill in the coming days and send it to President Joe Biden for his signature before a March 14 deadline to renew unemployment aid programs.

The legislation includes direct payments of up to $1,400 to most Americans, a $300 weekly boost to jobless benefits into September and an expansion of the child tax credit for one year. It also puts new funding into Covid-19 vaccine distribution and testing, rental assistance for struggling households and K-12 schools for reopening costs.

Senate approval brings Biden’s first legislative initiative closer to fruition. While the GOP and some economists criticized the scope of the rescue package as the U.S. vaccination pace picked up, Democrats said they needed decisive action to prevent a sluggish recovery and future economic pain.

Senators passed the bill through budget reconciliation, a process that required no Republican support but every Democratic vote. Senate Democratic leaders had to wrangle disparate forces within their caucus to win unified support while trying to balance the need to keep nearly all House Democrats on board to pass the plan

Biden: Jobs report shows American Rescue Plan urgently needed

A disagreement within the party stalled the process for about 12 hours on Friday. Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia declined to back his party’s proposal for unemployment aid, sending leaders scrambling to craft a compromise that could win his support and salvage the bill.

Democrats settled on a plan to keep the current $300 per week jobless benefit boost in place through Sept. 6 while making the first $10,200 in assistance tax-free. The proposal trimmed the $400 weekly supplement through Aug. 29 passed in the House a week ago.
