Well, that and things like shutting down more free speech and blaming white people for everyone's failures in life. But the truth is that Trump is not President, the election is over, and unlike BLM and Antifa riots (which happened nearly every night somewhere last summer), the capital riots are not an ongoing thing.
I read another article claiming that the local authorities are beefing up security over more possible threats to the capital. This would already be the third for fourth time we have heard about "credible" intelligence suggesting that the so-called white supremacists were on the move and planning something big. Of course, there hasn't actually been even another small get-together with any of these people any where near the capital, much less any sort of coordinated riot.
While we kept being told all summer that the billions of dollars worth of building being burned down, the Molotov cocktails being tossed, the hundreds of police officers being assaulted and even killed were all part of "mostly peaceful protests" - we are now being told that somehow, someway, there are conservative racists who are engaging in much more threatening violent behavior without actually even physically doing anything. Apparently just the mere idea that something might happen is more traumatic than things actually burning and people actually dying.
To be honest, I am not sure if this is hypocrisy or stupidity. What I know is that the left will attempt to hang on to this as long as possible. With the Derek Chauvin trial expected to start next week and a potential verdict that seems in doubt, I am sure that some are afraid of more riots if things don't go against the police officer. Another round of rioting from BLM and Antifa would certainly put everything on edge again, as the Democrats and their media cronies work to somehow try to blame the other side.

They happened at night, so it’s ok.

Number of shots fired by protesters on January 6: zero. Number of firearms recovered by FBI and police: zero. Some “insurrection.” Some attempted “coup.” The biggest bang here is the sound of the Democratic narrative imploding!

How can you have an "armed insurrection" without any arms?
The "insurrection" hoax is no different than the Trump/Russian collusion hoax. A political narrative run by the DNC and FAKE NEWS.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Federal prosecutors have dismissed more than one-third of cases stemming from last summer’s violent protests in downtown Portland, when protesters clashed with federal agents. KGW reviewed federal court records and found 31 of the 90 protest cases have been dismissed by the U.S. Department of Justice, including a mix of misdemeanor and felony charges.
Some of the most serious charges dropped include four defendants charged with assaulting a federal officer, which is a felony. More than half of the dropped charges were "dismissed with prejudice," which several former federal prosecutors described as extremely rare. “Dismissed with prejudice” means the case can’t be brought back to court.
The dismissal of protest cases runs counter to the tough talk coming from the U.S. Department of Justice last summer. Billy Williams, then-U.S. Attorney for Oregon, vowed there would be consequences for the nightly graffiti, fires and vandalism outside the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse.

I think that the day after the state of the union address is completed, the militia groups will fade away.
The former doesn't have Twitter feed,so he will gradually disappear.
The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI sent a joint intelligence bulletin to state and local law enforcement agencies late Tuesday warning that some domestic groups have "discussed plans to take control of the U.S. Capitol and remove Democratic lawmakers on or about" March 4, according to a senior law enforcement official who described the document to NBC News.
The bulletin, titled "National Capital Region Remains Attractive Target for Domestic Violent Extremists," warned that "Domestic Violent Extremists" or "Militia Violent Extremists" were emboldened by the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and therefore pose a higher overall threat.
The bulletin said the militia violent extremists may "exploit public gatherings either formally organized or spontaneous to engage in violence," according to the description of the document.
This was triggered by the former

You want rioting that might endanger police officers, but you don't give a fuck about them, because you can't.

Former Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) made a $250,000 campaign contribution to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) last week after seniors in the uber-wealthy Florida Keys enclave where Rauner owns a home were among the first in the state to receive COVID-19 vaccinations in January, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Seniors Alky seniors, those like you in the Covid sweet spot. Should only seniors in Medicaid assisted living facilities get them?
So now Roger doesn't believe that the most vulnerable (the elderly) should get a Covid shot if they make too much money or have too much wealth?
Just let those "cake eaters" die huh?
Certainly a good "liberal" thing to think.

Finally found an article, though not from the MSM:
Pentagon says US contractor died of heart attack during rocket attack at air base in Iraq
BAGHDAD — The White House warned that the U.S. may consider a military response to the rocket attack on Wednesday that hit an air base in western Iraq where American and coalition troops are housed, raising concerns this could trigger a new round of escalating violence.
A U.S. contractor died after at least 10 rockets slammed into the base. And while no group claimed responsibility, it was the first strike since the U.S. bombed Iran-aligned militia targets along the Iraq-Syria border last week.
Heightened tensions with Iranian-backed militia groups in Iraq could lead to more attacks, complicating the Biden administration’s desire to open talks with Iran over the 2015 nuclear deal, as well as the ongoing U.S. strategy to focus more attention on Asia.
Asked about the attack, President Joe Biden told reporters, “we are following that through right now.” He added, “Thank God, no one was killed by the rocket, but one individual, a contractor, died of a heart attack. But we’re identifying who’s responsible and we’ll make judgments” about a response.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki suggested that the “calculated” U.S. airstrikes last week could be a model for a military response. Those strikes were in response to an attack on American forces in northern Iraq earlier in February.
“If we assess further response is warranted, we will take action again in a manner and time of our choosing,” Psaki said.
Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said the U.S. contractor “suffered a cardiac episode while sheltering” from the attack and died shortly afterward. He said there were no service members injured and all are accounted for. British and Danish troops also are among those stationed at the base.
