I guess liberals, especially those considered the standard bearer of the Democratic Party cannot help but call their opponents names. I would like to believe that they mean well, but quite obviously they do not. Unlike conservatives, who happen to understand that it's simply ignorance and gaslighting (rather than a character flaw) that promotes liberalism, liberals tend to see those who disagree as simply on a lower plane of existence. Thus it is nothing to have their political leaders paint a wide wide brush in their attacks against the electorate that votes the other way.

At this point in time, the arguments regarding Covid and the variety of responses is now at the point where the argument is between what the numbers and statistics show and what the elitist experts tell us. Now one would think that the former would drive the latter, but unfortunately that is not how it has been working for some time. If anything the actual numbers suggest that lockdowns and mandate are causing more medical, emotional, and economic harm than good. People are behind in cancer screenings, normal physicals, we have more psychiatric and suicidal issues. We have more domestic abuse, more crime, and more divorce. School age children are suffering both socially and educationally.  Most obviously the economy has suffered both short and long term. In fact we many never fully recover.

So if one to was to weight the unknown and unproven affects of these lockdowns to protect few against the know harm that they are causing nearly everyone, the intelligent, mature, and brave thing to do would be to follow the statistics and quite frankly the common sense. Even if that risks you being called a bad name by a demented old codger who cannot hold a simple press conference, answer a simple question, or make it past noon on most days.
