Covid Update

Many on the left are up in arms over a return to normal that apparently is being rushed?

Liberals might be right that the Covid rates are still bad. At least in some parts of the country. But where they are wrong is by demanding that the overall increase in rates across the country is because of all of those "red states" who are reopening too soon. As you can see by the graphic here, the problem states are all blue states and primarily back up in the Great Lakes and New England area again.

Michigan, New Jersey and New York lead the way (once again) and there isn't a "red state' within sniffing distance of these problem areas. Does that stop whiney liberals from blaming Republicans and Red State policies? Absolutely not. Truth and logic matter not the whiney liberal!

The Senate’s nonpartisan parliamentarian Monday ruled in favor of a Democratic effort to pass additional legislation through a process called reconciliation, according to a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), opening the door for Democrats to approve more measures along party lines in the Senate this year.

This might be huge impact on our future.

If the Senate becomes a parliament, the minority will no longer be able to control the agenda of the majority.

This might mean the end of the filibuster.

Sleepy Joe is going to change the way we will prevail

Because there was no precedent for doing so, he asked Ms. MacDonough, a nonpartisan civil servant who interprets Senate rules, for guidance. On Monday, she blessed the maneuver, according to Justin Goodman, a spokesman for Mr. Schumer, who said that “some parameters still need to be worked out.”

The ruling “allows Democrats additional tools to improve the lives of Americans if Republican obstruction continues,” Mr. Goodman said in a statement, calling the opinion “an important step forward” in ensuring that “this key pathway is available to Democrats if needed.”

Democrats already had two more opportunities to use the reconciliation process during the 117th Congress, under budget blueprints for fiscal years 2022 and 2023. But the ruling from Ms. MacDonough allows them to use the maneuver at least two more times during this calendar year alone, and could further increase the opportunities for them to do so before the end of 2022.

The option does not guarantee a smooth path for Mr. Biden’s agenda; with narrow majorities in both chambers, party leaders will have to keep Democrats almost entirely united to be able to use the maneuver successfully. And reconciliation is subject to strict budgetary rules that limit what can be included.

Top Democratic officials have declined to say when they will use the budget tool again. But lawmakers and aides have floated a number of possibilities, ranging from infrastructure to immigration, that could be steered around Republican objections and into law.

“It’s important because it gives us a little more flexibility — we don’t have to push everything into one package,” Senator Bernie Sanders, the Vermont independent who is chairman of the Budget Committee, said on MSNBC, listing a number of priorities he wanted to pass. “The ruling of the parliamentarian gives us a little bit more opportunity in that direction.”

Progressive lawmakers have increasingly agitated for a change to the rules of the Senate that would allow the party to dismantle the filibuster.

But any effort to pass further legislation with a simple majority will be considerably more difficult than it was with the stimulus package, which cleared both chambers and became law in less than three months. Democrats are already haggling over what should be included in the infrastructure plan, and how to pay for it.

Republicans, who have largely criticized Mr. Biden’s agenda, are likely to object to any use of the tool, which would virtually cut them out of the process. Reconciliation also consumes a substantial amount of floor time, which could otherwise be used for approving administration nominees and judicial appointments.

“There are more opportunities to run the obstacle course and risk all the dangers, but you still have to run the obstacle course,” said Zach Moller, deputy director of the economic program at Third Way, a left-leaning think tank in Washington, and a former aide on the Senate Budget Committee. “The process and the painfulness of budget reconciliation is still required to go through here.

Good night you crazy mothrf***rs!

Coors Field in Denver has been chosen to host this year's All-Star Game, sources told ESPN's Buster Olney on Monday.

MLB opted to move the game out of Atlanta due to voting laws passed in Georgia last month.

It will mark the second time the homer-friendly home of the Colorado Rockies will host the Midsummer Classic. The American League beat the National League 13-8 at Coors in 1998.

This year's All-Star Game originally was scheduled for July 13 at Truist Park, home of the Braves. However, on April 2, MLB announced that it decided to move the game out of Atlanta because of a new Georgia law that has civil rights groups concerned about its potential to restrict voting access for people of color.

Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement at the time that he discussed the potential move with individual major leaguers and the Players Alliance, an organization of Black players formed after the death of George Floyd last year, before ultimately deciding to make the call "as the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport."

And this is why I consider the alky to be completely full of shit when he touts his IQ.

He acts like the dems have some sort of a sweeping mandate when in fact they only enjoy a 'majority' in the senate thanks to a tie-breaker. hence the procedural sleight of hand known as reconciliation to get their shit passed.

And in the House, democrats are 'enjoying' their slimmest majority in decades. So slim in fact, Peloshee actually considered stealing back a seat, the result of which was certified by the Iowa state legislature.

I'm old enough to remember that under 0linsky, the alky used to crow about the 'consent of the governed.' Well, 'the governed' have split the power in our Congress right down the fucking middle. Once again - NO mandate.

The fact is, these fucking scumbags have roughly 18 months to fuck over the American people as much and as hard as they can. And they'll pass their Green Nude Eel the same way they passed 0linsky-care - in the middle of the fucking night - with Cum-Allah breaking the tie.

These people are traitors, plain and simple. Cowards. Hiding behind soldiers and razor wire because deep down inside they know they're illegitimate, and they know that the shit they're pulling is pure evil.

The people voted for gridlock. They're being rewarded with massive $100K+ job losses and gas UP over a buck a gallon. A wide open border with a tsunami of Covid-positive criminals flowing in.

The face of this administration is a drooling dementia patient, a prostitute, and a diminutive pillow biter faking a bike ride to work.

Colorado voting rights include voting day registrations. Georgia law are much more difficult

How do I register to vote or update my voter registration?

A1. You may register online at www.GoVoteColorado.gov, if you have a valid Colorado driver's license or state issued ID card from the Colorado Department of Revenue.

Printable voter registration forms are also available on the Secretary of State's website, the county clerk and recorder's office, and any federal post office that provides voter registration applications. You may then mail, fax, or scan and email your complete and signed form to your county clerk and recorder's office.

You can also register to vote in-person. Registering to vote in-person may be done at a physical office, which includes:

A Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle office when you apply for a driver's license, or when updating your driver's license information;Offices that provide public assistance, including offices that provide state funded programs primarily engaged in providing services to person with disabilities;Recruitment offices of the armed forces of the United States;Any federal, state, or local government office or any nongovernment office that chooses to provide voter registration service or applications; orA voter service and polling center.

You can also register to vote in-person through a voter registration drive.

If you are already a registered voter in Colorado you may confirm your registration by visiting www.GoVoteColorado.gov. Once your registration is verified, you may update your address and party affiliation as well.

If your voter registration is inactive, you may change your inactive status by submitting a signed request, an online voter registration application, or making an in-person request.

Q2. Will I still be registered to vote if I did not vote in the last election?

A2. Yes. If you did not vote in the last election, you are still registered and eligible to vote. You will still receive a mail ballot unless your county clerk has received information that you have moved out of state. Visit www.GoVoteColorado.gov to make sure your voter registration information is current.

Q3. What is the voter registration deadline?

A3. Voters may register through Election Day. Please note that how you register to vote will impact how you receive your ballot.

To receive your ballot by mail:

Register to vote or update your voter registration online at www.GoVoteColorado.gov through the 8th day before Election Day;Submit an application through the mail, at a voter registration agency, or at a local driver's license examination facility through the 8th day before Election Day; orSubmit an application through a voter registration drive no later than 22 days before Election Day.

If you miss the above deadlines, you may register in-person at a voter service and polling center in your county through Election Day.

Opinion: Why tearing down Fauci is essential to the MAGA myth
Columnist
April 5, 2021 at 4:35 p.m. EDT

Add to list
MAGA political philosophy is not systematic, but it is comprehensive. Right-wing populism offers a distorted lens to view nearly all of life.

Through this warped lens, progress toward equal rights is actually the oppression of White people. Free and fair elections, when lost, are actually conspiratorial plots by the ruthless left. But perhaps the most remarkable distortion concerns the MAGA view of covid-19.

We have all seen the basic outlines of pandemic reality. Experts in epidemiology warned that the disease would spread through contact or droplets at short distances, which is how it spread. The experts recommended early lockdowns to keep health systems from being overwhelmed, and the lockdowns generally worked. The experts said Americans could influence the spread of the disease by taking basic measures such as mask-wearing and social distancing. The disease was controlled when people did these things. The disease ran rampant when they did not, killing a lot of old and vulnerable people in the process.

There were, of course, disagreements along the way about the length of lockdowns and the form of mandates. But on the whole, American citizens have witnessed one of the most dramatic vindications of scientific expertise in our history. We have been healthier when we listened to the experts and sicker when we did not.
This the context in which the MAGA right has chosen to make Anthony S. Fauci — the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984 — the villain in their hallucinogenic version of pandemic history.

Here are the most significant changes to voting in the state, as written into the new law:Voters will now have less time to request absentee ballots. There are strict new ID requirements for absentee ballots. It’s now illegal for election officials to mail out absentee ballot applications to all voters.Drop boxes still exist … but barely.Mobile voting centers (think an R.V. where you can vote) are essentially banned.Early voting is expanded in a lot of small counties, but probably not in more populous ones.Offering food or water to voters waiting in line now risks misdemeanor charges. If you go to the wrong polling place, it will be (even) harder to vote.If election problems arise, a common occurrence, it is now more difficult to extend voting hours. With a mix of changes to vote-counting, high-turnout elections will probably mean a long wait for results.Election officials can no longer accept third-party funding (a measure that nods to right-wing conspiracy theories). With an eye toward voter fraud, the state attorney general will manage an election hotline. The Republican-controlled legislature has more control over the State Election Board. The secretary of state is removed as a voting member of the State Election Board. The G.O.P.-led legislature is empowered to suspend county election officials.Runoff elections will happen faster — and could become harder to manage.

Voters will now have less time to request absentee ballots.

Page 38: Not m̶o̶r̶e̶ earlier than 1̶8̶0̶ 78 days or less than 11 days prior to the date of the primary or election, or runoff of either, in which the elector desires to vote, any absentee elector may make, either by mail, by facsimile transmission, by electronic transmission, or in person in the registrar’s or absentee ballot clerk’s office, an application for an official ballot of the elector’s precinct to be voted at such primary, election, or runoff.

Georgia has cut by more than half the period during which voters may request an absentee ballot, from nearly six months before an election to less than three.

This will almost certainly reduce the number of people who seek absentee ballots and the number of people who vote. In the last presidential election, 1.3 million Georgians — about 26 percent of the state’s electorate — voted with absentee ballots. Of those who returned absentee ballots in 2020, 65 percent voted for Joseph R. Biden Jr. and 34 percent chose Donald J. Trump.

The shorter window will also limit opportunities for get-out-the-vote efforts and could put greater strain on local election boards, which will have less time to process ballot requests.

Did you know that Nazi Germany was one of Coca-Cola’s biggest markets? Have you ever seen an official Coca-Cola advertisement promoting the company’s partnership with the Nazis during the 1936 Olympics under a jingoistic tagline — “One people, one country, one drink, Coke is it” — that would have made Adolf Hitler proud? No?

Does Coca-Cola not highlight its financial history with Nazi Germany when crowing about its racial purity tests today? Or the fact that Germany’s inconvenient declaration of war against the United States made it sufficiently difficult for Coca-Cola to maintain its prominent reputation within the Reich that the company’s German representatives repurposed the operations of hundreds of bottling plants toward the production of a new drink called Fanta to serve thirsty German soldiers throughout the war? Does the Coca-Cola Company not brag about Fanta’s wartime genesis as a Nazi beverage? How strange.

One would think that a company so dedicated to rooting out “white supremacy” that it forces its white employees into racial re-education training seminars would first want to take a hard look at its own rather awkward historical relationship with actual white supremacists intent on building a world-dominating “master race.” That’s what “racial justice” requires, right — the punishment of one generation of Americans for the sins of generations past? So why should Coca-Cola’s questionable corporate history be off-limits when it goes out of its way to demonize white Americans for no other reason than the color of their skin?

On the other hand, everything about Coca-Cola’s racial indoctrination program today sounds as if it could be ripped right from the pages of Nazi Germany’s own race laws, with Jews and other “undesirables” being crossed out and “whites” scribbled in their place. All the racial animosity that nearly destroyed humanity last century is back in “woke” form, and some of the same companies that underestimated the Nazi threat then are underestimating the evil intent of the new racialist agendas that are taking over the corporate world today. Isn’t that, after all, why Critical Race Theory exists — so that pretend intellectuals can repackage discredited race-based theories from the past into academic language that can be used once again to justify outright racism? If so, 2021 Coke and 1936 Coke still have much in common. The only thing really differentiating the symbolism of a Nazi swastika and a Black Lives Matter clenched fist, after all, is which racial group is being targeted and which racial group is doing the targeting.

There is nothing new under the sun. Perhaps if Coca-Cola were capable of seeing the similarity between the racial grievances of its old Nazi partners and those of its new “woke” ones, it wouldn’t be so enthusiastic to repeat history all over. And maybe if Coke remains so intent on “cancelling” white Americans for the problems it sees in America’s history, then Americans should cancel Coke for the problems it overlooked in Nazi Germany’s.

An Asian senior was fatally stabbed while walking her dogs in Riverside, CA on Saturday morning. The incident, which police say appeared to be “completely random,” occurred in the area of Golden Avenue in the neighborhood of La Sierra just after 7 a.m. Ke Chieh Meng, 64, was found bleeding from stab wounds in her abdomen. She was rushed to the Riverside Community Hospital and pronounced dead. After the incident, residents in the area reported a suspicious-looking woman. Soon, police located and arrested Darlene Stephanie Montoya, 23, of Monterey Park. A preliminary investigation revealed that Meng was “randomly confronted and attacked by the transient woman,” who then fled the scene. “When our detectives interviewed the suspect, they didn't come across anything to suggest she attacked the victim due to her race,” Riverside Police Officer Ryan Railsback told CNN. Montoya has been charged with murder, a weapons violation and potentially being under the influence of an illegal substance. She is being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center without bail. Just days before this incident, Montoya was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. However, due to the emergency bail schedule brought about by COVID-19, she was released on a “Notice to Appear” citation.

Roger still falling for the Covid executive action tricks.

Liberals are acting as if drop boxes, mobile voting units, and just sending everyone a ballot in the mail are all somehow part of the previous law and that the new law is gutting them out.

When in fact none of it existed in the old law and was only implemented on an emergency basis via executive orders. Executive orders expire as does the need for Covid related one time emergency changes to how the election was held.

Why do liberals do such a thing?

Probably because actually comparing the new law to the old law doesn't get all of their emotionally unstable minions all riled up like their current dishonest rhetoric does!

Democrats need their masses upset 24-7 and need them all emotionally charged. Just watch as they respond to me in big capital letters with bold font and insults and anger!
