Slow Joe wants fast planes and fast trains!

Biden is calling for planes that go 21,000 miles per hour or approximately 30 times the speed of sound and 12 times faster than the fast plane known to man. He would also like trains to go the same speed as an Airplane. Welcome to jet propelled trains! Hopefully they don't have to actually turn or stay on a track of any sort.

If we could just pass a bill to  make those things go faster!

Some say this is not actually possible given modern day physics. But then again, here is a man who cannot get more than a couple of hundred Americans to come out to a rally, but got the most votes in the history of any Presidential election. So who knows what other miracles he has up his sleeve!

Yep it was tank and then she lied. I don’t believe a $100 millions for the All-Star game tho, probably closer to $10-20mill.

It’s not like it impacts an economy for 2 weeks as Super Bowl does.

But still that fat bitch is done

Balls have you ever seen the gallery at August this thin. I’ve been several times for practice rounds and it’s a madhouse

He’s Mr. Fix-it. not Sleepy Joe

The first of these problems was a pandemic that’s killed hundreds of thousands of Americans – Biden carries a card in his pocket updating the exact number – and its ensuing economic hardship.

In response, Congress passed Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan – the most important parts of which aren’t $1,400 checks now being mailed to millions of Americans but $3,600 checks a child paid to low-income families, which will cut child poverty by half.

Now comes his $2 trillion American Jobs Plan, which doesn’t just fund roads and bridges but a vast number of things the nation has neglected for years: schools, affordable housing, in-home care, access to broadband, basic research, renewable energy, and the transition to a non-fossil economy.

Why isn’t Biden trumpeting these initiatives for what they are – huge public investments in the environment, the working-class and poor – instead of rescue checks and road repairs? Why not stir America with a vision of what the nation can be if it exchanges fraudulent trickle-down economics for genuine bottom-up innovation and growth?

Even the official titles of his initiatives – Rescue Plan, Jobs Plan, and soon-to-be-unveiled Family Plan – are anodyne, like plumbing blueprints.

The reason is Biden wants Americans to feel confident he’s taking care of the biggest problems but doesn’t want to create much of a stir. The country is so bitterly and angrily divided that any stir is likely to stir up vitriol.

Talk too much about combatting climate change and lose everyone whose livelihood depends on fossil fuels or who doesn’t regard climate change as an existential threat. Focus on cutting child poverty and lose everyone who thinks welfare causes dependency. Talk too much about critical technologies and lose those who don’t believe government should be picking winners.

Rescue checks and road repairs may be boring but they’re hugely popular. 61 percent of Americans support the American Rescue Plan, including 59 percent of Republicans. More than 80 percent support increased funding for highway construction, bridge repair and expanded access to broadband.

Biden has made it all so bland that congressional Republicans and their big business backers have nothing to criticize except his proposal to pay for the repairs by raising taxes on corporations, which most Americans support.

This is smart politics. Biden is embarking on a huge and long-overdue repair job on the physical and human underpinnings of the nation while managing to keep most of a bitterly divided country with him. It may not be seen as glamorous work, but when you’re knee-deep in muck it’s hard to argue with a plumber.

He will use the reconciliation process of avoid the filibuster, even though he's doing the same thing that Ronald Reagan did, the current Republican party is full of pedophiles like Ghatez and again pussy grabbing rapist.

If Sleepy Joe Joe is successful he will go down in history as a transitional leader.

The RINO Wall Street Journal reports on an impressive economic recovery.

A number of other economic measures signal a U.S. revival is under way as vaccination rates juice consumer spending, governments relax restrictions on businesses and households, and federal stimulus funds flow through the economy.

Filings for jobless benefits in recent weeks have held at theirlowest level of the pandemic.Source: U.S. Employment and Training Administration via St. LouisFedNote: Seasonally adjusted.

With nearly one-quarter of U.S. adults now fully vaccinated, consumers are spending more on gyms, restaurants, hotels and other services they had shunned over the past year, setting in motion a post-pandemic spending boom. Consumer spending in March was 24% higher than in February, according to data from Earnest Research, which tracks credit- and debit-card purchases.

Moreover, the number of people receiving unemployment assistance is slowly declining. Continuing claims, which provide an approximation of the number of people receiving benefits, at the end of March reached their lowest level of the pandemic, declining slightly to 3.73 million. A broader reading that includes state and pandemic-related federal programs also eased slightly to 18.16 million.

Two Men and a Truck, a moving and storage company with more than 350 locations nationwide, is on a push to hire 2,000 workers this month. But it is struggling to recruit the labor it anticipates needing for the spring and summer, typically its busiest season, said Sara Bennett, the company’s chief talent officer.

“We’re not just seeing the hiring rate decrease—we’re also seeing the applications decrease,” she said. Retaining good employees has also proved challenging over the past year, she added, saying the company’s staffing woes are in part due to having to compete with warehousing, delivery and other hot sectors for workers.

“Any employee in those industries is in seriously high demand. That’s made things difficult for us,” said Ms. Bennett. “And with the pandemic—obviously there’s a fear of that that’s still out there, though the vaccines have helped people feel safer and more comfortable.”

Voting rights activist and former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams reportedly tried to convince Major League Baseball (MLB) to keep its All-Star Game in Atlanta despite Georgia's new voting laws.

According to Atlanta Journal Constitution reporter Greg Bluesmen, Abrams spoke to a senior adviser at MLB and "strongly" urged the league not to pull the event out of Atlanta.

She also argued against a boycott before MLB's move in a @USATODAY op-ed and @AJC interview last week," Bluesmen tweeted.

Trumpism has left a shell of a party whose core principles are now grievance, resentment and a skepticism about whether “the people” are all qualified to govern themselves.

But four years later, football still reigns atop the American cultural landscape. “Even though the NFL took a hit last season [during the pandemic], its position relative to most other [TV] programming only grew stronger,” The Hollywood Reporter noted in January.

This hardly seems the stuff of a silent majority expressing its outrage by voting with its pocketbooks. Here’s an alternative theory for the aggrieved right to consider: Maybe their problem isn’t that baseball, football, Coca-Cola and the rest are ignoring the dictates of the free market but following them. After all, as New York’s Jonathan Chait pointed out,

Trump Vindicated as Judge Rules Michigan Secretary of State Violated Election Laws

nowhere in this state’s election law has the Legislature indicated that signatures are to be presumed valid, nor did the Legislature require that signatures are to be accepted so long as there are any redeeming qualities in the application or return envelope as compared with the signature on file. Policy determinations like the one at issue — which places the thumb on the scale in favor of a signature’s validity — should be made pursuant to properly promulgated rules under the APA or by the Legislature.

America's biggest boom since 1946

Felix Salmon, Mike Allen

Illustration: Brendan Lynch/Axios

America’s financial titans are coming to a consensus: We are on the early edge of the biggest economic boom since World War II, with the promise of years of growth after the privation of the pandemic.

Why it matters: They might be wrong, but all point to the same data — this expansion will be kickstarted by trillions in spending from presidents Trump and Biden, the Fed's easy money, and piles of cash that consumers and companies accumulated during the COVID shutdown.

This is likely to be a global phenomenon: Biden administration spending will have ripple effects around the world, and overseas bank accounts also have grown during COVID.

Governments' actions in response to the pandemic raised global GDP growth by a full six percentage points, estimates the IMF, adding that "the global growth contraction last year could have been three times worse than it was."Still, total output shrank so much — by a stunning 3.3% in total — that there's now an unprecedented amount of slack in the global economy. In other words: The world has more potential upside than ever.

The biggest names in finance are making increasingly bullish predictions. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said Wednesday in his annual shareholder letter, closely watched on Wall Street: “This boom could easily run into 2023 because all the spending could extend well into 2023.”

Goldman Sachs last month raised its U.S. growth projection for this year to 8%, which would constitute the largest economic expansion in generations.

It is either a "19th century solution to a 21st century problem" or a "solution in search of a problem". No, it will neither create jobs nor ever pay for itself.

There are relatively few cases where high-speed rail would serve the traveler better than an airplane. As far as it being a greener solution? It is not. When measured in passenger miles, high-speed rail is more inefficient.

The country is simply too big and too sparsely populated to be served by high-speed rail.

Who benefits from high-speed rail? Only those densely populated corridors such as the north-east and far west LA to SF corridor. In other words Democrat blue states.
