Absolutely! Schools should teach critical race theory...

But only as a critical race theory class. Not as part of math, economics, history, science, or social studies.

As the definition of it suggests, CRT is simply a theory. It is not a known fact and should not be treated as such and certainly should not be taught as a fact. What it needs to be taught as is a theory. A theory that can be taught like any other theory of philosophy. There would be open discussion, back and forth. People would be free to both agree and disagree with the theory, as well as provide alternate theories to explain the various economic and social differences we see according to race.

We could talk about the history of CRT. Find out more about the people who put forward the theory. Really dig into what the theory suggests and whether or not there is ample evidence to declare it as a correct theory, an incorrect theory, or something that has some correct elements and some incorrect elements.

Of course, such a class would be the antithesis of what those pushing critical race theory are looking to accomplish. They do not want the theory discussed, argued, or put into any sort of terms that might allow for any sort of dissent from the cult beliefs. They not only want the critical race theory to be prevalent in everything, they DEMAND absolute obedience to the teachings. They expect that everyone will accept it as gospel truth or pay the consequences of thinking differently.

Of course, if there was an actual course. Students would be allowed to discuss and decipher the hidden meaning of why these people are so uncomfortable with this theory that they cannot allow for any dissention or disbelief. It could be a very valuable class and teach everyone awareness as well as actual critical thinking. Which despite the term 'critical" in the name of the theory, CRL provides no real allowance for any critical thinking within the theory itself.

Simply a theory and not a fact that we enslaved blacks, and later segregated and lynched and disenfranchised them and kept them in poverty. Simply a theory and not a fact that we decimated Native Americans and set them on trails of tears as we stole their land, simply a theory and not a fact that we imprisoned innocent Japanese citizens in detention camps though some of their sons fought against the Nazis, simply a theory and not a fact that we performed forty years of experiments on black men to see how long they could survive syphilis with no medicine, simply a theory and not a fact that we elected a piss poor excuse for a president largely in reaction to having a despised "nigga" in the White House.

Of COURSE "Critical" Race Theory can be discussed pro and con.
"Critical" biblical scholarship is discussed pro and con.
ANY theory is open to NO HOLDS BARRED discussion of all kinds.
The very term THEORY invites and even demands that.

House Passes Bill to Investigate Capitol Riots

The U.S. House, in a 252 to 175 vote, passed a bill to establish bipartisan commission to investigate Jan. 6 attack on Capitol.

Every Democrat voted for the bill along with 35 Republicans who defied their party’s leadership.

Axios:
“The amount of Republican support makes it far more difficult for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to try and dismiss the commission outright as a partisan effort.”

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 12:26 PM PT – Wednesday, May 19, 2021

Republicans are pushing back against Democrat attempts to politicize the January 6 capitol breach. On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) urged GOP lawmakers to reject H.R. 3233, which would establish a 9/11-style commission to investigate the event.

McCarthy set it straight that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) failed to negotiate a fair bipartisan agreement and marred debate with political misdirection. He noted that while Pelosi was lying to the public about hashing out a fair agreement with GOP counterparts, she chose to go her own way by pushing for a panel stacked with Democrats.

“Well first I think it’s a shame that Speaker Pelosi is not working in a bipartisan way on the suggestions that have been brought forth by many of our members,” stated Scalise. “You’ve surely seen House Democrats run in a very unilateral way, where they’re shutting an entire party out of the debate and that’s unfortunate because we should be having a bipartisan debate about this.”

McCarthy stressed the commission would be counterproductive and the scope of the commission’s jurisdiction would produce similar results as several ongoing investigations. He cited DOJ and Senate investigations already taking place, where FBI agents have arrested nearly 450 people and are planning to arrest another 100.

Both he and Scalise also hammered home the point that the commission would only look at one specific event of political violence, where lawmakers have experienced many more. They advised Democrats to add events, including the 2017 shooting at the Republican congressional baseball practice that left Scalise hospitalized. Additionally, they said the commission should include the deadly attack on capitol police in April, where a man drove into officers stationed at a capitol barricade.

“Studies show 570 protests and 220 U.S. locations turned violent over the summer; are those not insurrections?” asked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). “Plus billion dollars in riot damages is estimated to be the most expensive in insurance history…we should have a commission to study the violent BLM and Antifa mobs that have plagued American cities this past summer.”

However, GOP senators aren’t showing the same vigor in opposing the commission. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the caucus would listen to both sides of the aisle.

“It needs to be clearly balanced and not tilted one way or the other, so we have an objective evaluation,” stated the Kentucky lawmaker. “So, I think it’s safe for you to report that we are undecided about the way forward at this point.”

In the meantime, political analysts expect H.R. 3233 to pass through the House by a partisan vote. In order to pass in the Senate, it would need at least 10 GOP senators to vote “yes.”

President Trump has warned Republican lawmakers not to fall for the left’s latest scheme. In a statement shared on Tuesday, he said GOP lawmakers should “not approve the Democrat trap of the January 6 Commission” while accusing the proposal of just being more partisan injustice.

The 45th president then urged the GOP to get much tougher and smarter, stating they must “stop being used by the radical left.” His comments comes as top House Republican leaders continue to hold the line against the partisan January 6 commission.

Alternative Title: CRT

Critical race theory (CRT), intellectual movement and loosely organized framework of legal analysis based on the premise that race is not a natural, biologically grounded feature of physically distinct subgroups of human beings but a socially constructed (culturally invented) category that is used to oppress and exploit people of colour. Critical race theorists hold that the law and legal institutions in the United States are inherently racist insofar as they function to create and maintain social, economic, and political inequalities between whites and nonwhites, especially African Americans.

Critical race theory

QUICK FACTS

RELATED TOPICS

Critical race theory (CRT) was officially organized in 1989, at the first annual Workshop on Critical Race Theory, though its intellectual origins go back much farther, to the 1960s and ’70s. Its immediate precursor was the critical legal studies (CLS) movement, which dedicated itself to examining how the law and legal institutions serve the interests of the wealthy and powerful at the expense of the poor and marginalized. (CLS, an offshoot of Marxist-oriented critical theory, may also be viewed as a radicalization of early 20th-century legal realism, a school of legal philosophy according to which judicial decision making, especially at the appellate level, is influenced as much by nonlegal—political or ideological—factors as by precedent and principles of legal reasoning.) Like CLS scholars, critical race theorists believed that political liberalism was incapable of adequately addressing fundamental problems of injustice in American society (notwithstanding legislation and court rulings advancing civil rights in the 1950s and ’60s), because its emphasis on the equitable treatment under the law of all races (“colour blindness”) rendered it capable of recognizing only the most overt and obvious racist practices, not those that were relatively indirect, subtle, or systemic. Liberalism was also faulted for mistakenly presupposing the apolitical nature of judicial decision making and for taking a self-consciously incremental or reformist approach that prolonged unjust social arrangements and afforded opportunities for retrenchment and backsliding through administrative delays and conservative legal challenges. Unlike most CLS scholars, however, critical race theorists did not wish to abandon the notions of law or legal rights altogether, because, in their experience, some laws and legal reforms had done much to help oppressed or exploited people.

In their work Critical Race Theory: An Introduction, first published in 2001, the legal scholars Richard Delgado (one of the founders of CRT) and Jean Stefancic discuss several general propositions that they claim would be accepted by many critical race theorists, despite the considerable variation of belief among members of the movement. These “basic tenets” of CRT, according to the authors, include the following claims: (1) Race is socially constructed, not biologically natural. (2) Racism in the United States is normal, not aberrational: it is the common, ordinary experience of most people of colour. (3) Owing to what critical race theorists call “interest convergence” or “material determinism,” legal advances (or setbacks) for people of colour tend to serve the interests of dominant white groups.

It seems pretty whacked out

HA! Republicans know good and well there is absolutely no way to discuss Jan 6 without "politicizing" it in some ways.

The most objective analysis of it possible would still invite and even demand drawing some political conclusions.

Republicans just don't want to talk about it or examine it at all.
____

So why not form two commissions, one Democratic and the other Republican, both CLAIMING to be seeking objective truth, and let them present their separate conclusions. And then the world can judge for itself how objective and truthful their conclusions actually are.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren’s husband is in custody after state troopers executed a search warrant at her home.

Warren’s husband, Timothy Granison, was the subject of the criminal investigation, and was detained by law enforcement, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

Troopers executed a search warrant at the Democrat’s house as part of an “ongoing criminal investigation,” New York State Police said in a brief press release.

No other information was provided by law enforcement officials.

Granison had previously served five years of probation stemming from his role in a 1997 armed jewelery heist, the paper said.

“The Mayor is just learning about the events that unfolded this afternoon and has no more information than the rest of the community,” Rochester’s City Communications Director Justin Roj said in a Wednesday night statement, according to multiple local outlets.

“She hopes to learn more details this evening and will have a statement tomorrow.”

Warren, who is facing campaign finance fraud charges, is also accused of lying to the public about the 2020 death of Daniel Prude, who was suffocated by police officers.

In his book, How to Be an AntiRacist, Kendi states, “The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.”[1] Kendi has made a career of pitting Americans against each other based on race and creating artificial distinctions that make our society less cohesive. He divides the world into ‘racists’ and ‘anti-racists’ with no middle ground allowed for people who are merely “not racist.” One can’t simply be “not racist” by treating people fairly because according to Kendi, equality rather than equity is inherently racist. Under Kendi’s formula, those who have the traditional American civil rights notion that we treat people based upon the content of their character, not the color of their skin are racist. Kendi’s teachings have the effect of creating a coercive dynamic that is unhealthy to an educational environment, especially for children….

The rule is legally suspect and morally monstrous. The mere fact that it was proposed at all is inexcusable.

Critical race theory is a neo-Marxist ideology that espouses overt racism in the name of anti-racism. In effect, it teaches that racial identity is at the center of modern life and that the United States was founded on, and remains a pernicious embodiment of, racism. Its very soul supposedly is imbued with racism. It teaches that all white people are inherently racist, that blacks cannot be racist because they have no power, and that free market capitalism must be jettisoned because it is a tool of white oppression.

Bizarre conspiracy theory claims Biden didn’t test drive Ford truck and it was in control of secret service

President Joe Biden took the Ford electric truck for a quick spin but conspiracy theorists claimed that it was staged

A few days after Joe Biden travelled to a Ford electric vehicle plant and took a spin in an electric truck, conspirators online are now claiming that the president staged the whole thing.

On Tuesday, Mr Biden visited Dearborn, Michigan to Ford Electric Vehicle Center and test drove the F-150 Lightning Truck but conspiracy theorists are convinced he wasn’t actually driving it. Some are claiming that Mr Biden took part in an elaborate ruse to fool the public and that the car had, in fact, a second steering wheel.

“The model Joe Biden was ‘driving’ has two steering wheels,” author Jim Hoft of far-right website Gateway wrote. The internet soon followed suit. Mr Hoft’s theory was based on a single frame of a video that shows the president driving the electric truck.

However, these theories did not hold water on further scrutiny by Internet users.

In the videos and photos from the day, it is clear that there is a secret services agent in the truck, whose arm is outstretched towards the dashboard of the vehicle. But there is no second steering wheel that the right-wing internet was trying to prove.

Driving the electric truck, Mr Biden had commented:
“This sucker’s quick.”

Joe drove the truck.

Ole Commander sure fell for that one!

Another Profile In Cowardice
Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI)
made an angry video during the January 6 insurrection as he was sheltering in place.

Said Gallagher:
“We are witnessing absolute banana republic crap in the United States Capitol right now.
Donald Trump, you need to call this off.”

Yesterday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Gallagher voted against setting up a bipartisan commission to investigate the insurrection.

dems trying to get a false narrative to stick

Have you noticed that ever since the start of 0linsky's first term that's ALL the dems have been doing? peddling false narratives?

yep

Glad to see republicans have come to see the "panic" settle down and see the real story.

President Trump called for protesters to remain peaceful

The gunshot (and murder) was from a yet to be identified Capitol Police Officer (I wonder why), not any protesters

The thousands of hours on inside video has not yet been made available to the defense teams or the public

There was no insurrection

Though many citizens are being held away from jobs and families in solitary confinement in an apparent attempt to break them. And a full court press by the FBI to do just that

Even some reasonable democrats are rightly calling that unAmerican

Biden should join them, but he won't.

It's good to see calmer people are prevailing.

And why did Nancy Pelosi refuse to supply adequate security for the situation as was recommended and offered ?

She should be put under oath to show she has nothing to hide.

But she does have lots to hide...

kind of like the political_lire tethered ignorant POS "pastor" who still hasn't figured out how to think for himself or even the simple act of providing real links to his constant flow of plagiarized posts.

ROFLMFAO !!!

There was no insurrection
and
Biden didn't win the election.

Certifiable.
_____

Oh, and "President Trump called for protesters to remain peaceful"
but he also called for them to take back the government
and when the acts of invasion and violence started,
he watched approvingly and delightedly on television hours went by before he called on them to cease and desist even though some of his own people were repeatedly begging him to do that while others were warning him that he had better.

No wonder Republicans don't want this looked into.

Who was the ONLY PERSON who fired a gun which caused much of the panic and resulted in the murder of an unarmed protester?

seems kind of important to know?

Doesn't need a commission but would show democrats are looking for the truth and not just playing cynical politics.

and why Nancy turned down requests for additional security. She could tell us.

as well as why the need for solitary confinement when no one has been charged with insurrection, an inflammatory term and a tactic racist democrats regularly use.

Why the third world tactics?

and the POS "pastor" will again refuse to answer but go into his ignorant dance.

What are Republicans scared of? More democrat third world tactics.

And the boot of fascists.

Like the Biden administration.

Putin is loving them.
