At what point in time does this just simply become harassment?

The New York Attorney General Announces the Investigation of Trump Inc Is Now a Criminal Matter
The staff from the NYAG offices who are investigating the Trump Org

Donald Trump is probably the most investigated man in the history of the United States. From being accused of stealing an election, campaign fraud, fraudulent business dealings, conspiring with foreign leaders, misuse of the Presidency, spearheading a non-existent coup to take over the country with a few hundred unarmed protesters, and of course illegally paying off a porn star with a perfectly legal NDA.

Not to mention that his tax returns have been audited pretty much every year for the past few decades.

Yet, there has been no indictments, arrests, or any of the sorts. Sure a Special Counsel spent $30 million dollars investigating Trump and arresting associates in an attempt to squeeze them into giving up the good on Trump. But the only one to "give up the goods"  as it were was Michael Cohen who found out that he admitted to conspiring with Trump on something that was not a crime and then lamented on how he copped out and nobody else went to jail but him.

It is said that the NYAG office is attempting to show that the Trump Organization is not always on the up and up with their appraisals of property. Depending on whether they need a loan or a tax break, the property might have different values. Welcome to any real estate business and good luck "proving" that an appraisal was not only factually incorrect, but that there was explicit fraud in obtaining them. As the SDNY found out when they went after the Trump Org over the NDA. Trump employs a lot of accountants and attorneys with impressive degrees, resumes, and $10,000 suits. That attempt to railroad the former President found the SDNY being ordered to put an end to the the investigation by the presiding judge.

Even if they could somehow prove that the Trump Organization was involved in some sort of real estate fraud, the fall person who ends up taking the blame and goes to jail is not likely going to have the last name of Trump.

Rewriting history is a staple of American mythology. Across the country, one can find people who sincerely believe that slavery wasn’t that bad, the Civil War was fought over states’ rights, and that, had he not been murdered by a racist, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would’ve been a Republican today. American exceptionalism requires recasting the particularly ugly parts of our past into rosier scenarios. And now, just a few months after the insurrection at the Capitol, the Republican Party has laid the groundwork for repeating this grand tradition, creating their own version of the Lost Cause narrative from the Civil War.

It’s not quite right to say that the Republican Party is living in an alternate reality. They actually experienced the reality that they have now chosen to completely reframe. At a House oversight committee hearing last week, Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) sought to dramatically downplay the severity of the attack on January 6, comparing an armed mob to a “normal” visit by tourists. “As one of the members who stayed in the Capitol and on the House floor, and who with other Republican colleagues helped barricade the door until almost 3 p.m. that day from the mob who tried to enter,” he said, remaining grounded in reality thus far, “I can tell you, the House floor was never breached, and it was not an insurrection.”  Scott said the same thing on January 6th.

It’s quite an imaginative leap to be one of the lawmakers forced to barricade a door while a violent mob attempted to break through and still claim that the mob’s actions did not constitute an insurrection. But he was far from alone in this new appraisal of the event. As impressive as his mind-bending argument was—smashing windows and beating cops with flag poles was just another day at the American parliament—the GOP’s nearly unanimous attempts to engage in massive historical revisionism has one familiar precedent. If 156 years after the Civil War, millions of people believe that the Southern states were fighting for “states’ rights,” then surely today’s GOP can also convince them that the January 6 insurrection was just another protest.

Technically, the Confederacy only lasted four years, but in practice white supremacists have kept the dream of a pro-slavery state alive through the collective myth known as the Lost Cause and The Big Lie

A group of United States Capitol Police officers signaled their “profound disappointment” that Republican congressional leadership has refused to support the proposed bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot in an open letter published Wednesday.

A spokesperson from the office of Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said the letter ― which is written on USCP letterhead but left unsigned ― represents about 40 to 50 officers. It was sent to House chiefs Wednesday afternoon.

“Unfortunately this letter comes to you anonymously, because as U.S. Capitol Police Officers, we are expected to remain neutral and do our jobs with honor and integrity,” it reads. “It’s unfortunate that our ‘bosses’ (Congress) are not held to the same standard that we, the USCP, are.”“were subjected to hours and hours of physical trauma which has led to months of mental anguish.” The attack left five people dead; two officers died by suicide in the days afterward.

Biden is purging the US Military.

A cease-fire in the fighting between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas could come as early as Friday, according to people involved in the discussions, as pressure mounts from Washington and other foreign capitals to bring an end to airstrikes and rocket fire that have claimed a rising number of civilian casualties.

Egyptian officials have made headway in negotiations with Hamas’s leadership, and the Israeli military has privately conceded that it is nearing the completion of its objectives, U.S. and foreign officials said. The Biden administration anticipates that a cease-fire could come this week, barring any unforeseen clashes that might topple the fragile discussions, according to a U.S. official.

The U.S., along with Egypt, Qatar and several European nations, has been working to pressure both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leaders to end their military campaigns amid dire conditions in Gaza.

There is a mechanism in place for a cease-fire and the only issue is timing, the U.S. official said, while noting that members of another militant group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, remain a wild card. There are concerns that the group might provoke the situation even after the two sides agree to a cease-fire in principle. The White House declined to comment.

President Biden told Mr. Netanyahu in a phone call Wednesday that “he expected a significant de-escalation today on the path to a cease-fire,” the White House said. It was the fourth phone call between the two leaders in a week, and Mr. Biden has gradually exerted pressure on Mr. Netanyahu to end the conflict amid the mounting death toll.

Sleepy Joe might just get it done!
