Seems like only a few short weeks ago the CDC was telling people to wear two masks because one was not enough. Now apparently they are suggesting that you no longer need a mask (indoors or outdoors) if you are fully vaccinated, which right now is about half of our population.
Some are complaining (as some like to do) that this is an overreaction to the previous overreactions. There will be some people for some time who will not want to give up their opportunity to shame someone else for not following orders. The idea that this will no longer be recommended behavior will likely really, really irritate these virtue signalers.
One has to wonder how the various states will handle this. I assume some will lift the mandates entirely and I assume others will hold on to them as long as they can. Minnesota (surprisingly) ended our mask mandate last night. Eventually they will all have to cave to the reality that you cannot demand something that is not medically necessary under the guise of being medically necessary.
Now will this stop the idiot who wants to wear a mask (or two) while driving alone in his car? Probably not. Will this stop these same idiots from using their masked faces as their social media profile pictures to show how woke to mask wearing they are? Probably not.
But next time someone wants to give you crap about not wearing a mask, you can tell them to shove their masks up their you know what! You might even throw in a little naner naner boo boo and taunt them a little, since they are no longer correct, politically or otherwise! Boy that will piss them off!

Deal Reached on January 6 Commission
House Homeland Security Chair Bennie Thompson (D-MS) announced that he’s reached a deal with Republicans over an independent commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection.
There will be 10 people on the commission, five appointed by Democrats and five appointed by Republicans.
Commission members can’t be in government and must have experience in law enforcement, civil liberties and intelligence.
The panel will have subpoena power.
It will be disbanded at the end of the year.

Legislation will establish a 10-person bipartisan commission. Five commissioners, including the chair, will be appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. The other five, including the vice chair, will be appointed by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell."The commission will be charged with studying the facts and circumstances of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol as well as the influencing factors that may have provoked the attack on our democracy," according to the committee."Commissioners must have significant expertise in the areas of law enforcement, civil rights, civil liberties, privacy, intelligence and cybersecurity. Current government officers or employees are prohibited from appointment."The commission will be granted authority to issue subpoenas, which will require agreement between the chair and the vice chair, or a vote by a majority of members.The commission will be required to issue a final report with findings and recommendations to "prevent future attacks on our democratic institutions" by Dec. 31, 2021.

Isn’t it incredible that because of the vaccines, which I and my Administration came up with years ahead of schedule (despite the fact that everybody, including Fauci, said would never happen), that we no longer need masks, and yet our names are not even mentioned in what everybody is calling the modern day miracle of the vaccines? Without the vaccines, this world would have been in for another 1917 Spanish Flu, where up to 100 million people died. Because of the vaccines we pushed and developed in record time, nothing like that will be even close to happening. Just a mention please! The Biden Administration had zero to do with it. An active-duty Marine Corps officer stationed at the Quantico base in Virginia was arrested on Thursday in the commonwealth and charged with five federal crimes in connection with the Jan. 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol, including allegedly assaulting a police officer, the Department of Justice announced Thursday afternoon.
According to the charging documents, Major Christopher Warnagiris, 40, of Woodbridge, was initially captured on security camera footage “violently” entering the Capitol Building through the East Rotunda doors by pushing through a line of Capitol Police officers. Once inside the building, video and photographs show him returning to the doors and trying to thwart the officers’ efforts to prevent more rioters from getting through by physically pushing and pulling them away from their positions, prosecutors say.
“[Warnagiris] positioned himself in the corner of the doorway and seemed to use his body to help keep the door partially opened and reached for individuals pushing their way through to help pull them inside,” an unidentified FBI agent wrote in an affidavit supporting his criminal complaint.
During the struggle, several officers moved from outside of the doorway to the inside in an attempt to better hold off the mob trying to break through, including an officer identified as “Officer A.W.” who was trying to hold one of the swinging doors closed, prosecutors say.
“Officer A.W. tried to pull one of the doors shut as [Warnagiris] continued to try to push it further open,” the affidavit states.

I am so pleased that Marty Walsh — Secretary Walsh will be the vice chair of this task force so we can do the work along with these incredible American leaders to really address something that is a high priority for our administration, which we are proudly a pro-union administration.
And so this is the work of doing two things, essentially: looking at what we can do to take on and address the work the federal government already has the capacity to do around protecting collective bargaining, protecting workers rights, protecting the quality of life of working people in the federal government, and doing it in a way that we also look at what we must do to ensure that working people can organize — that they can negotiate.
Because, we know — it’s pretty basic — union workers are more likely to have retirement benefits; union workers are more likely to have safe working conditions; union workers make $191 more per week than the average worker who is not a member of the union.
Second, in terms of our priorities, we know that this is the case that when there are more union members, there is less income inequality. Another priority for our administration: to combat income inequality, which has only grown over the years. So, this is a high priority for ours, knowing that being pro-union, pro-labor also addresses the issue of income inequality.
For example, between 1979 and the year 2020, union density — and that means that, basically, the percentage of American workers who are represented by a union — dropped 14.9 percent — 14.9 percent. And we can attribute that to a number of things which we will talk about in our meeting.
We all remember that the air traffic controllers. We remember certain inflection points that have contributed, in distant history and in recent history, to those numbers.
But because of that drop, according to researchers, American workers are losing $200 billion a year. So, this impacts not only the quality of life of the American worker, this impacts the quality of life of all Americans because it impacts our economy. And to the extent that we are interconnected — when our economy does well, when the middle class does well — we all do well, which means unions must do well.
So, our goal is to help increase our nati- — our nation’s union density rate. We do believe that the work of this task force should embrace certain principles, including that there is nothing that we do and can do that is too small or too big to address or to fix.
We will find that there are issues that seemingly are small issues that deal with the administration of our government, which, if fixed, will benefit many, many people in many households, many families. So that is a guiding principle of the work we’re doing.
And the bottom line is that we believe when workers organize, our economy gets stronger. And right now, we need our economy to get stronger.
The Republicans oppose the infrastructure bill because it would get the blue collar vote.
