There is a difference between disagreeing with the former President while moving forward with what needs to be done and disagreeing to the point that you cannot let it go.
Liz Cheney was not the prudent voice of reason that some liberals would like to make her out to be. What she actually is would be someone overly obsessed with a former President and way too over the top about the events surrounding the Capital riot. Donald Trump is not the boogeyman and Jan 6th was not September 11th. Demanding that our country should continue to focus on either is not good for the country, and it certainly isn't good for the GOP. Cheney has to know this, but simply cannot let it go.
The reality is that Liz Cheney is part of a dying breed of never-Trumpers who are upset that the Party is moving away from the neo-conservative policies made popular (or unpopular as it was) by former President George W Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney. Donald Trump was never the catalyst for, but more the result of, the movement from the GOP from the old neoconservative views towards the more populist views we see today. But those who long for the days of the old philosophies about American greatness abroad are pinning that blame on Trump himself.
The bigger problem for Cheney and the other like-minded never-Trumpers is that they have nowhere to really turn. Attempts to champion a Gary Johnson or create momentum for a third Party is simply not in the cards. Attempting to change the Party from within is a losing battle. Nobody is looking to go back to constant wars in the Middle East or any other forms of nation building. Whether or not the 2021 GOP is the Party of Trump is still a question. But the current GOP is certainly a Party that agrees with the populist polices that Trump stood for. People who want to represent the Party need to either get on board with that or move aside.

BREAKING: Reports coming in that no one spoke up to defend Liz Cheney before the vote. Not even Kinzinger.

Get over it now.
GOP's Kevin McCarthy insists no one questions Biden's victory -- as Trump continues lying about
House minority leader Kevin McConnell (R-CA) insisted that no one was questioning the legitimacy of President Joe Biden's election -- but current events say otherwise.
The California Republican and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) met Wednesday at the White House with Biden, just hours after the Republican conference voted to remove Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her leadership position for refusing to endorse Donald Trump's lies about his election loss.
"I don't think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the president's election," McCarthy told reporters afterward. "That is all over with."
The Republicans kicked her out of the leadership position because she refused The Big Lie.
He actually said the same thing today.
Your TLS is incurable.
You are overly obsessed with a former President and way too over the top about the events surrounding the Capital riot. The invasion was an insurrection. But because she refused to follow orders from the wannabe dictator.
The insurrection was designed to overturn the electoral college victory for President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
I don't understand why you have become.

Hopefully we will survive as a republic

Including China and Iran.
The meeting might help us out
The big picture: McCarthy said he spoke to Biden about inflation concerns, following a reading from the Consumer Price Index on Wednesday that showed prices rose 4.2% in April over last year.
The House Republican leader said he expressed concerns to Biden about "incentivizing people not to work," as well as the inflow of migrants at the Southern border."Those are places we can work together and should work together to try to solve what is happening there," McCarthy said.
This reminds me of the Reagan administration era politics.
"I don't think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the president's election," McCarthy told reporters afterward. "That is all over with."

This is why he should have been appointed to the Supreme Court during the Obama administration.
WASHINGTON — Attorney General Merrick Garland told Congress on Wednesday that violence incited by white supremacists poses “the most dangerous threat to our democracy.” That assertion reflects near-universal consensus among national security experts, including those who worked for the Trump administration.
Garland’s warning came during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, which was conducted by supporters of then-President Donald Trump and incited by white supremacist groups like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. Five people died as a result of the attack.
“In my career as a judge and in law enforcement, I have not seen a more dangerous threat to democracy than the invasion of the Capitol,” Garland said, calling the attack an “attempt to interfere with a fundamental element of our democracy, the peaceful transfer of power.” The attorney general went on to say that “there has to be a hierarchy of things that we prioritize. This would be the one we’d prioritize.

I have to wonder if they are looking for evidence to tie the former President Trump was involved in the insurrection.
If so, he could be charged for treason.
Even if he was involved, proving intent is almost impossible. He's the first con artist ever seen elected President. He knew mobsters in New York City.
Although police have not yet labelled the incident as a racially motivated crime the victim says he believes that the attack was motivated by hate.

Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. have tumbled to an average of around 600 per day — the lowest level in 10 months — with the number of lives lost dropping to single digits in well over half the states and hitting zero on some days.
Confirmed infections, meanwhile, have fallen to about 38,000 day on average, their lowest mark since mid-September. While that is still cause for concern, they have plummeted 85 percent from a peak of more than a quarter-million cases per day in early January.

Now you might think that a former president declaring that he was disappointed that his sincere effort to become an unelected autocrat would get some pushback from attendees. That people with live political careers—people who currently hold elective office and are due to face voters soon—might see some benefit to distancing themselves from the most direct assault on our democracy undertaken by a president in the postwar era.

Biden should say (and in effect he WILL say):

In order to rebuild our decaying infrastructure,
somebody in the country is going to HAVE to pay more in taxes.

Some Republicans have not appeased the former Orange Monster.
“On January 6th, Liz and Kevin McCarthy have just about the same speech, rightly casting blame at the former President for the violence,” Kinzinger wrote. “But Kevin wants to be speaker. He made the determination that if he appeased the Trump crowd, he could raise money and take the credit, when he was up for speaker.”
Kinzinger was referencing McCarthy’s comments following the attack on the Capitol in which a mob of Trump supporters breached the building in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results. At the time, McCarthy said that “the president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters,” and said Trump must take responsibility to ensure that Biden could begin his term. But within weeks, McCarthy flew to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Trump in person, and afterward touted a “united conservative movement.”
“Liz stayed consistent,” Kinzinger said in the tweet. “She didn’t look for opportunities to attack Jan 6, but as [House Republican Conference] chair she does press and is naturally asked about it. she responds truthfully. Kevin? He felt threatened, so instead of fighting for his job he went on offense against Liz.”

Black Lives Matter claims it’s in “solidarity” with the Palestinians.
Jewish Americans showed “solidarity” with Black Lives Matter last summer.
See the problem here?
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
The escalation in Israel and Gaza over the past 24 hours is horrific. Rockets fired by Hamas have now killed at least three Israelis and wounded more. Intensive retaliatory strikes by the IDF have killed and wounded dozens in Gaza.
Our thoughts are with our family, friends, staff and partners in the region -- and with all Israelis and Palestinians who are living in fear for themselves and their loved ones, and those who are today grappling with unimaginable grief and loss.
Israel has a clear right to defend its citizens from rockets and terror attacks. At the same time, we know that there is no long-term military solution to this crisis, and that escalations and intensive Israeli strikes cause devastation for the people of Gaza. We also know this escalation began following the incendiary efforts of Israeli settler groups to evict hundreds of Palestinians from their homes in East Jerusalem.
Right now, it’s critical that the Biden administration engage proactively in securing an immediate ceasefire and pushing all sides to de-escalate. With lives on the line, our government can and should be doing more.
[We are] calling on President Biden
to push for de-escalation,
to work toward brokering a ceasefire and
to commit to sustained leadership to address the root causes at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict -- including the ongoing injustice of the occupation.
Tell President Biden, urgent US leadership is needed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
As a global superpower and Israel’s closest ally, the United States is no mere bystander in this conflict. As the Trump presidency demonstrated all too clearly, US engagement has the capacity to reduce violence or to exacerbate it, to address injustice or compound it. Our voice, our values and our leadership are vital.
While the Biden administration is committed to a two-state peace agreement, we need our leaders to go beyond rhetoric, to commit to bold diplomacy, to promote solutions -- and to push back on dangerous policies and injustice. We cannot leave this issue on the backburner and get involved only when the casualties are mounting. We must take initiative.
Join us in urging the administration to commit to sustained leadership not only to end the immediate violence, but to end an unacceptable status quo. We’re urging them to:
*Appoint a Special Envoy charged with addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and with outlining a clear strategy to support the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians to peace, security and self-determination.
*Fast-track the urgent provision of humanitarian assistance to Gaza to address the destruction of infrastructure and medical services, and the worsening COVID-19 crisis.
*Make clear to the Israeli government that forcing Palestinian families from their homes in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank is against international law, and that the use of force against peaceful Palestinian protesters is unacceptable.
...Without our leadership, the unacceptable, deteriorating status quo means perpetual injustice for Palestinians and a continual risk of violence endangering both peoples. It empowers extremists and endangers millions of Israelis and Palestinians who deserve and long for peace.
We know where that situation leads us -- to painful violence and suffering like we’ve seen the past few days. The Biden administration can and must do more to stop the fighting and make sure there isn’t yet another escalation like this in a few months or years.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said Wednesday she plans to continue her fight against former President Donald Trump’s grip on the Republican Party after her GOP colleagues ousted her from House leadership.
“I intend to be the leader, one of the leaders, in a fight to help to restore our party, in a fight to bring our party back to substance and principle and in a fight to make clear that we won't participate in the really dangerous effort that's underway,” Cheney said in an exclusive interview with NBC's “TODAY” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, when asked if she is the leader of the opposition in exile.

White House Weighs Evacuating Afghan Workers Whose Live Are at Risk Because they Worked with Our Forces
Bloomberg:
“White House national security aides have held several meetings about the issue in recent days to trade ideas, discussing options including a mass evacuation of thousands of people to a third country where they could be processed and brought to the U.S.
“The likeliest scenarios for the U.S. would involve extracting Afghans through the existing special immigrant visas program, which has a long backlog, and allowing Afghan interpreters to seek refugee status … The White House is getting closer to presenting options to advocates and members of Congress impatient with the silence from President Joe Biden … But with U.S. forces due to fully depart Afghanistan by Sept. 11, there’s little time left.”

EXC: Fauci-Funded Researchers Headlined Wuhan Lab ‘Gain Of Function’ Conference.
A press release from the Wuhan Institute of Virology – believed by many to be the source of COVID-19 – recounts the “2nd China-U.S. Workshop on the Challenges of Emerging Infections, Laboratory Safety and Global Health Security.”
The May 2017 event was “co-organized by U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), CAS and Hubei Society for Microbiology.”
According to the Wuhan lab, the event had five academic sessions, the first of which was “gain of function research, gene editing, targeting and delivery and other novel biotechnology.”
Among the Americans in attendance as special guests were Professors Linda Saif, James LeDuc, and David Relman. Together, the three professors have received nearly 200 grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with 75 coming from Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
fauci
LeDuc, whose earliest grant can be traced to 2006, has received 32 grants from the NIAID, according to the NIH registry. He runs the Galveston National Laboratory, which was “constructed under grants awarded by the NIAID/NIH.”
Saif, who counts funding from NIAID since 1985, has received a total of 56 grants from the NIH, 43 of which came from Fauci’s NIAID.
And Relman, who’s been funded by the NIH since 1996, has received 90 grants from the NIH. He has also received the NIH’s Pioneer Award and the Transformative Research Award.
The unearthed conference follows a heated exchange between Fauci and Senator Rand Paul, where the NIAID Director denied providing funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to conduct gain of function research.
NIH grant records reveal, however, that money sent to the New York-based EcoHealth Alliance was used for research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

England second XV rugby team to drop beloved Saxons name as it’s deemed racist
12 May 2021 Share
The Rugby Football Union has become the latest institution to sign up to the woke agenda in deciding to drop “Saxons” from the name of the England Rugby squad’s second team because it does not reflect racial diversity. The team will now be known rather less inspiringly as England A.
The anthem, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, traditionally belted out by England fans at Twickenham is also in the firing line.
It seems to have escaped the RFU’s thinking that the term Saxon is as much cultural as ethnic in modern parlance, indicating the English-speaking people’s way of doing things. Which is probably why the word Saxons passed the political correctness test as recently as 2006 when England A was rebranded to give England’s second team some much-deserved prestige – getting into the England set up, let alone the first XV is brutally competitive.
However, the PC bar has been lifted higher by woke fever that has caught the attention of all public bodies, including the organisation governing England rugby, which as a sport has often rejected banal woke gestures such as taking the knee which is rampant in other sports, particularly football.
In August, three London Saracens players, including world rugby star Billy Vunipola, refused to take the knee before a match against Bristol

With California planning to lift COVID-19 restrictions on business activity and gatherings on June 15, Gov. Gavin Newsom said this week the state’s mask-wearing mandate will be mostly lifted as well — but not entirely.
Speaking to Fox11 on Monday, Newsom said the state will continue to make recommendations for mask-wearing in select circumstances. But he said when the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy is scrapped as scheduled on June 15, mask-wearing will likely only be required in large-scale indoor gatherings.
“Only in those settings that are indoor,” he told Fox11. “Only in those massively large settings, where people — from around the world, not just around the country — are convening, and where people are mixing in real dense spaces.
“Otherwise, we’ll make guidance, recommendations, but no mandates and no restrictions,” he said.
Newsom announced in early April that the state plans to lift COVID-19 restrictions on June 15, banking on the success of vaccinations. The move will do away with the color-coded Blueprint for a Safer Economy that ranks counties into one of four tiers with varying degrees of allowable business and social activities.
He insisted at the time, however, that the state would maintain some form of mask mandate.
But as more people are becoming fully vaccinated, federal and local health officials have eased back on mask-wearing, particularly in outdoor settings with relatively small numbers of other fully vaccinated people.
Newsom told Fox11 mask-wearing in California will likely still be required at “huge, large-scale indoor convention events where we’ll use our common sense.”
Somebody help these guys out and find a link where Trump ever said a single word about being concerned about the Afghans who helped us there and would be in trouble when we left.

Crazy mothrf***r Republicans have lost their minds!
Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) could barely contain his revulsion for the "revisionist history being offered" by his GOP "colleagues" during the House Oversight Committee's hearing on the January 6th MAGA riot at the Capitol. He recalled the crowds, and Traitor Trump's speech, and the visible change in mood and action of the people gathered to hear him.
"He said, 'You better get up to the Capitol and fight like hell, or you're not going to have a country anymore.' That's when the mood changed in that crowd," said Rep. Lynch. Then he asked Christopher Miller, a classic Trump Toadie cos-playing Secretary of Defense at the time of the riot, "But for president Trump's speech, you think anyone would have marched on the Capitol, and tried to overrun the Capitol, without the president's remarks? I know you've answered this question several times, but I'd like for you to answer it for the committee."
"I think I'd like to modify my original assessment," answered Miller, drawing cynical laughter from Rep. Lynch, who replied, "Why am I not surprised about that? Go ahead."
Miller then rambled on about learning through (Merrick Garland's) Department of Justice, and the legal system, "it seems clear that there was some sort of conspiracy where there were organized assault elements that intended to assault the Capitol that day."
Rep. Lynch reclaimed his time, and directed him to answer the same question he'd asked him before. "Did the president's remarks incite people in the crowd to march on the Capitol, or did they not?"
"He clearly offered that they should march on the Capitol. It goes without saying that his statement resulted in that. The question --"
Again, Rep. Lynch reclaimed his time to quote Miller's answer back to himself, from when he's been asked that question in the past: "Would anybody have marched on the Capitol, and tried to overrun the Capitol without the president's speech? I think it's pretty much definitive that would not have happened."
But now, Miller wanted to sing a different tune, and said, "I think now I would say that that is not the unitary factor at all."
Come again?
"I would like to offer, I have reassessed, it's not the unitary factor at all. It seems clear there was an organized conspiracy with assault elements," weak-sauced Miller.
"In your written testimony for today," Rep. Lynch reminded him. "For your written testimony for today, for today, this morning, you stated the following about the president, quote, 'I personally believe his comments encouraged the protesters that day.'"
"It should be
the super rich." Jamie
Show us your math.

Trump Administration Has Drastically Dropped Visas For Afghan And Iraqi Interpreters rs

Khalid al-Baidhani found out early about the risks of being an Iraqi working for the U.S. military in Baghdad. In 2006, he was waiting for a ride home outside a U.S. base.
"A car stopped right away, took out the pistol and start shooting me," Baidhani recalls, "I [couldn't] feel anything after that."
Baidhani survived, recovered and went back to work with U.S. forces.
"I want ... good communications between U.S. military and Iraqi civilians over there," he said.
His uncle also volunteered. So did his brother Wisam, who worked with Peter Farley, a former Army sergeant from Massachusetts.
"I couldn't imagine in a million years that I'd go over there and come back with one of my best friends being an Iraqi national," Farley told NPR.
In light of the sacrifice made by Iraqis and Afghans who assisted U.S. forces, Congress created the Special Immigrant Visa Program to get them and their families to safety in the U.S. Farley says it was about gratitude and also an incentive for local nationals to help U.S. troops. Now veterans such as Farley, as well as dozens of lawmakers, say they're afraid the promise they made is being broken. Under the Trump administration, the number coming to the U.S. has dropped drastically.
"This administration is hostile to refugees," says Adam Bates, with the International Refugee Assistance Project.
Bates says in Iraq there is a backlog of more than 100,000 people now in the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program P-2 Direct Access Program. Last year about 200 were cleared — down from nearly 10,000 in 2016.
The number of Afghans getting visas also is slowing — down about 60% in recent years, Bates says. More than 4,000 were cleared in fiscal year 2017, compared with about 1,650 in 2018.
"It would be impossible to say that these substantial drops are not a part of some policy. These are people who put themselves at risk because they served with U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan," he says.
A U.S. State Department official told NPR that it is working closely with U.S government partners to accelerate the visa processing, while maintaining national security as a highest priority. In response to a bipartisan letter from Congress, the Department of Homeland Security said it was aiming to speed up the visas after recent changes in the program, also with security as an overarching concern.
None of that makes sense to Farley, who says that if the Baidhanis were a threat to Americans, they could have killed him any number of times in Iraq.
"I mean, this family has sacrificed more than most American families," Farley says.
He lobbied the U.S. government to get both Baidhani and his brother Wisam to the U.S. in 2011. They've been living and working here ever since. But the program came too late for Khalid's uncle — gunmen killed him in 2008, on his way home from an American base.
Baidhani's father and younger siblings also qualified for visas, but they're stuck in Baghdad.
"We worry about this family every day," Farley says. Wisam declined to be interviewed, he says because he has become depressed.
"It's hard to keep hope with the way things have gone," Farley says.
The way things have gone is that the family is still in Baghdad. After years of waiting and red tape, Baidhani's father, stepmother and three younger siblings were granted U.S. visas in 2016. They sold their family home in Baghdad, and all their other assets, and packed their bags. The day before their flight, they got a call that the visas had been put on hold pending yet another security check.
"I was shocked. It was like someone shot me with a bullet. I collapsed," Mohammad, Khalid and Wisam's father, told NPR.
"I just want to ask them to see us as a family who actually wants to serve the country."
He's now crowded into a rundown rented house with his eldest daughter and her husband — two bedrooms for the seven of them, trapped in a tough neighborhood in Baghdad. The family has no idea when it might get permission to travel.
Khalid's younger brother, Ahmed, is now 23. He quit his job when he thought he was leaving in 2016 and hasn't had steady work since then.
"We sacrifice a lot — my brother shot twice," he says. "Why us? Security check after security check. I just want to ask them to see us as a family who actually wants to serve the country," he said.
Farley — like many other vets who promised their interpreters safety in the U.S. — says he is angry that his promise has been broken. And he thinks that is a national security issue.
"If I was in their shoes, and I learned about the stories of the U.S. not offering protection to people that stepped up and fought alongside their soldiers — or to their families of those heroes," Farley asks, "why would I ever sign up to do that for the U.S.?"
So I guess it's going to be difficult for you to come up with a single expression of concern from Trump.
But you can try.

Because he just made it up.

She should run for President
The question isn’t why Rep. Liz Cheney, the defenestrated House Republican Conference chair, would run for president. The question is why she wouldn’t.
Cheney’s openness to a presidential run is entirely consistent with her overall political strategy since the January 6 insurrection. That strategy is almost unrecognizable in modern Washington, but it has a unique logic and a power. It’s usually referred to as “leadership.”
Cheney is doing what she believes is right and inviting others to follow. She began by announcing her intentions to vote to impeach then-President Donald Trump, which helped secure nine more Republican votes for impeachment in the House, thereby opening the door to seven Republican senators voting to convict. In other words, by doing openly and proudly what she thought was right, she made it possible for others to follow her. (Credit here also goes to Rep. John Katko, who was the first Republican to announce he would vote to impeach Trump, although he lacked Cheney’s position in conference leadership.)
Courage can be contagious.
Hence Cheney’s continued insistence on speaking the truth about the 2020 election results and the January 6 insurrection. She may be fighting a losing battle, especially in the short term. But she may also be to thank for the fact that 30 percent of Republicans—a dangerously high proportion, from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s point of view—know that the 2020 election wasn’t stolen. Without her leadership, that number might be in the single digits.
Having led so unflinchingly thus far, Cheney has nothing to gain by lamely giving up her post as House Republican Conference chair, likely her seat in Congress too, and retiring to private life.
Cheney has become the champion of the pro-democracy conservative movement. She is staunchly conservative—more so even than her father. She could even have been described as “doctrinaire,” at least until the doctrine of the Republican party became explicitly and aggressively undemocratic. But she’s unwilling to subjugate the American democratic experiment to her own policy preferences or the short-term electoral gain of her party.
Pedo we’re still waiting
The Coup on January 6th will be completed, if the true Electoral College vote managed to survive the state legislature in December, a Republican-controlled Congress could kill it during the vote-counting on January 6, 2025. In its current form, the Electoral Count Act allows a single senator and a single representative to object to a state’s certification on any grounds, as we all saw on January 6. If, as a result of objections to a state’s slate of electors, no presidential candidate has an Electoral College majority, the selection of the next president is thrown to the House, where each state votes as one. Republicans would presumably win such a vote; even now, with Republicans in the overall minority in the House, they have majorities in a majority of the state delegations.
This prospect that the presidency might be purloined by Republicans—that “the real steal is coming,” as Mona Charen puts it—is reinforced by other anti-democratic factors. The Republican-dominated successes in gerrymandering of congressional boundaries to effectively silence state majorities that want change, and Trump’s successful use of the COVID pandemic to enjoin census workers from completing their work in 2020, led to a net gain of Republican seats in the House and additional heft in the Electoral College—without a single vote being cast. Let’s not forget, too, that the conservative-dominated Supreme Court endorsed both of these maneuvers by banning any political gerrymandering case from seeing the light of day in court and upholding Trump’s halting of the census count.
The end result is a further shift away from democracy. Our Constitution is not a document that adheres to principles of a direct or pure democracy, of course; federal judges are unelected and serve for life, the presidency is chosen by slates of appointed electors, and laws are made through representatives. But especially notable in this regard is the composition of the U.S. Senate: It is structurally disproportionate to the voting public, with two senators per state, and that disproportion has become much more extreme over time. In 1790, the smallest state, Rhode Island, had a population about a tenth the size of the most populous state, Virginia. Today, the smallest state, Wyoming, has a population about one seventieth that of California—but they have equal representation in the Senate. This imbalance means that voters in rural states have a much greater say in the Senate than city-dwellers, who tend to vote Democratic. According to an analysis by Ian Millhiser, even though the Senate is evenly divided between the two parties, the fifty Democratic senators represent 41.5 million more people than the fifty Republican senators.
To put it another way, for Republicans, the Big Lie works as a singular platform because Trump voters in rural locales exercise disproportionate power in the Senate, which, in turn, won’t pass election reform, presumably because it would hinder the Republican minority’s ability to stay in power.
The Senate’s structure cannot change without a constitutional amendment—an all but implausible scenario, since it would require two-thirds majorities in both houses of Congress and ratification by three-quarters of state legislatures. Statehood for Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico would alter the balance of power by adding four senators, but that can only happen with ten Republican votes in the Senate under the filibuster, a procedural relic that virtually ensures minority veto power over any policy choice of the majority.
The filibuster also insulates the Electoral Count Act from much-needed reforms, such as clarification that state legislatures cannot ignore the popular vote when certifying their respective Electoral College votes in December of an election year, and that Congress cannot ignore the state certifications on January 6 of the following inaugural year.
Again, our Constitution is not a simplistically democratic charter. But its small-r republican features depend for their legitimacy on its small-d democratic features. When the democratic imbalance in our Senate is as bad as it has become, and when one powerful party is hellbent on subverting the electoral process to snatch future elections from actual voters based on lies about a past election and through laws that discourage voting, our political order is nearing its breaking point. If reforms are not enacted, and quickly, we face the loss of our constitutional system’s legitimacy and our democracy itself.
You can't come up with a single word of concern from Trump for the endangered Afghanis?
You lied jimmy and are a gutless pile of shit
Not like that’s something new here.
That's telling him shorty!!!!!! The entire party you support is a gutless pile of shit when the only one with any ballz is a cunt from Wyoming and the feckless assholes used a voice vote to hide the identity of those who supported her....That is gutless and again shows the GOP is sliding down the road to relevance.....!!!!!!! So sad you dumb fucks don't see it!!!!!
