As part of Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Small Business Administration (SBA) is opening the application process by which owners of restaurant, bars, and other venues can apply for federal relief to help make up for the loss of revenue as a result of economic lockdowns spurred by the Chinese coronavirus crisis.(snip)
The relief, though, is being prioritized based on race, gender, and whether or not business owners are considered “socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.” White men, for example, who are not Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, are not eligible for “priority period” processing and funding. Under the guidelines of the RRF, the SBA is giving priority processing and funding to “small business owned by women, veterans, or socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.”
Now it's one thing to claim discrimination as a matter of social standing or even claim systemic racism as a means to explain why some races of people do better than others. But it's an entirely different thing to put into law the idea that you can discriminate for government money solely on the basis of color.
Here is the reality. People who are socially and economically disadvantages can be distinguished by their social and economic status. Plain and simple. If two people live next door to each other, have the same issues, make the same money, suffer the same issues, then they are of the same social and economic status.
For decades, this country has fought to treat every person from every race fairly. While this has been a struggle at time, the MLK sentiment about judging people by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin has been a driving force. Seems live over the past few years that this has all gone out the window, and a new generation of thinking has emerged. This thinking includes segregation, separation, and a focus on race. Today we discriminate AS a matter of fairness or so goes the argument.

"Hola fellow Latinx!" said Dr. Jill Biden as she donned an authentic Mexican sombrero and shook a maraca. "We honor your intersectional brown bodies today! Si se puahdwe! Have a muy bueno Cincway du Marco! Yay!"
The socially distanced crowd of color then stood to their feet in rapturous applause, proud to be honored by a real live doctor.
After the speech, Dr. Jill Biden will treat detained migrants to a very special Zoom call in which she will wish them a happy holiday. She will then authorize one extra bowl of gruel for each detainee in honor of the very special day. She has also directed ICE agents to dress as Mexican vaqueros so everyone feels more at home.
Kamala Harris also announced she will finally be visiting the border as well, but sources reported she'll only be there to pick out a new cleaning lady.

The Biden administration is defining businesses owned by “socially and economically disadvantaged” individuals as those who are:
Part of an “economically disadvantaged Indian tribe”“Subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias”Black AmericanHispanic AmericanNative American, including Alaska Native and Native HawaiianAsian Pacific AmericanSubcontinent Asian American
The RRF guidelines state that the SBA will “will look at whether the net worth of the individual claiming disadvantage is less than $750,000” and “will also look at whether the adjusted gross income of the individual averaged over the preceding three years exceeds $350,000” to determine if they are considered “economically disadvantaged.”
The Biden administration has used similar race-based priorities in other federal programs. This month a group of white farmers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, and South Dakota filed suit against the Biden administration, alleging that a federal loan forgiveness program excludes them because they are white.
Unlike the Biden administration, former President Trump’s administration delivered funds to small businesses based on the amount of revenue they lost. For example, those who lost revenue of 90 percent or more were given priority for processing and funding.

Byron York's Daily Memo: Why House Republicans have had it with Liz Cheney
But she couldn't seem to stop talking about Trump. And, of course, many in the media loved asking her about the former president, which led to a flood of "divided GOP" stories. At this point, nearly four months after the impeachment vote, Cheney could have developed a stock answer for the inevitable media inquiries: I voted to impeach. I explained my vote. I stand by it. But now it is time to move on to the pressing issue of opposing the Biden-Pelosi agenda and winning back the House in 2022. Instead, Cheney has seemed to relish fanning the flames.
"It came to a boiling point a week and a half ago at our retreat [in Florida] when she's doing a press conference and she's still talking about January 6 and Donald Trump when we're all talking about unifying to defeat Pelosi's socialist agenda and win the House back," said one Republican. "At that point it became clear she's just not interested in working with the rest of us on a shared goal." Rank-and-file members can do whatever they want, Republicans say, but members of the leadership should at least publicly be on the same page.
Reparation is not wrong.

“On Wednesday, a member of the Arizona election audit team that has been heavily touted by former President Donald Trump revealed that its examination of the 2020 vote in Maricopa County will include a ‘forensic’ analysis of ballots to determine if the paper is made of bamboo—in order to determine whether or not China delivered tens of thousands of fraudulent ballots to tip the state to Joe Biden.

Trump Could Cost Republicans In 2022 and 2024
GOP pollster Frank Luntz
told Kara Swisher that former President Donald Trump’s campaign to undermine faith in elections could backfire on the Republican party.
Said Luntz:
“I think the greater impact that — okay, I haven’t said this before -- this could cost the Republicans, the majority in the House in 2022. What Donald Trump is saying is actually telling people it’s not worth it to vote. Donald Trump single-handedly may cause people not to vote. And he may be the greatest tool in the Democrats’ arsenal to keep control of the House and Senate in 2022."
When asked if Trump could win the presidency in 2024:
“If Donald Trump runs for president as a Republican, he’s the odds-on favorite to win the nomination. He could never win a general election, but I can’t imagine losing a Republican primary. That’s how significant he is within the GOP. And yet he’s lost all of those crossover voters that would deny him the chance to win in a general election.”

“Some parts of the US are already beginning to experience some of the downsides of population slowdown or decline: Shrinking tax bases in rural areas have made it harder for government budgets to support essential services, such as infrastructure and public schools.
“There are ways that policymakers can turn the situation around — the Biden administration has advocated for family-friendly policies that could make it easier for Americans to have more children. But that will not be enough to overcome a widening gap in the number of working-age adults that are able to support an aging population of baby boomers.
“That leaves immigration, which has historically insulated the US from population decline and represents a kind of tap that the US can turn on and off.”

Or both
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a sweeping elections bill into law Thursday that he and other Republicans say would place guardrails against fraud. Democrats and voter rights advocates say the move will make it harder for some voters to cast ballots
Significantly, those voters are never identified. (Because if it was a real problem it would be remedied.)
I do know the law has over 60% support and that support cross racial and ethnic lines.
President Joe Biden said the Republican Party is in a ‘mini revolution’ after an effort within the GOP to oust their No. 3 leader Liz Cheney, who has kept criticizing former President Donald Trump. The Democratic president commented on the matter on Wednesday afternoon, hours after the No. 2 Republican, Representative Steve Scalise, publicly endorsed Representative Elise Stefanik to replace Cheney. Cheney, who serves as the House Republican Conference chair, has angered her colleagues by calling out Trump’s presidential election fraud lies. Cheney, one of the few Republicans who voted to impeach Trump, survived a push by the ex-president’s allies to oust her in February, on a 145-61 vote. But she her continued statements on Trump have led some conservatives to change their minds and her fate again remains in balance

Reparation is not wrong.
I suggest we make it optional. If you are a registered Democrat and by proxy in favor of reparations, then the IRS will use your political status to take out some extra taxes to give to the darker skinned people in the country.
If you are not a registered Democrat, then provide a checkmark for those who wish to pay reparations and the IRS will take some of yours as well.
For those of us who had grandparent immigrate to the US, had no history of American slavery, and basically all died penniless - I don't see how it would be justified for any of us to pay reparations (simply based on the fact that we have a similar pigment to those whose ancestors once owned slaves here). I have not been "advantaged" financially by my personal heritage. I grew up without financial advantages and started working when I was twelve to pay for the things I wanted. Including paying my own way through college.

BIDEN LEANS INTO TAXING THE RICH MORE--AND IT'S POPULAR EVEN WITH MANY REPUBLICANS
Biden Leans Into Plans to Tax the Rich
By Jim Tankersley and Annie Karnin
NYT May 5, 2021, 6:57 p.m. ET
WASHINGTON — President Biden delivered a clear and punchy message to America’s highest earners on Wednesday: I’m going to raise your taxes, but your vacation homes are safe.
In an exchange with reporters at the White House, Mr. Biden defended with gusto his plans to increase taxes on high earners and the wealthy. He railed against high-earning chief executives and promised that his plans were “about making the average multimillionaire pay just a fair share.”
“We’re not going to deprive any of these executives of their second or third home, travel privately by jet,” Mr. Biden said after brief remarks on an economic aid program he signed into law this year. “It’s not going to affect their standard of living at all. Not a little tiny bit. But I can affect the standard of living that people I grew up with.”
The comments were the latest example of Mr. Biden and his party embracing the political and economic upsides of his proposals to tax the rich — a fight that the White House is eager to wage as the president engages in bipartisan negotiations over his $4 trillion economic agenda and a contrast to how Democratic presidents in the past have talked about their tax-increase proposals. WOW!n
Mr. Biden’s comments reflect both a read of public polling and a negotiating tactic. He is presenting the tax increases not simply as a method of paying for his sprawling agenda, but as a policy goal on their own, aimed at narrowing gaps in income and wealth that have been exposed in stark terms by the coronavirus pandemic. He and his aides see a chance to turn the issue against Republicans who have long preached tax cuts and hammered Democrats for supporting any tax increases.
A wide range of polls now show broad public support for tax increases on high earners. A Pew Research poll last week found that Americans were much more likely to be upset that the wealthy and corporations did not pay “their fair share” in taxes than to be upset about the size of their own tax bills.
“On taxes, Biden has flipped the script on Republicans,” said Rahm Emanuel, the former mayor of Chicago who worked in the Obama and Clinton administrations and is in line for an ambassadorship under Mr. Biden. “Especially since the Biden tax plan is popular with the G.O.P. base. Biden knows this and is taunting them head on.”
Republicans in Congress continue to warn that Mr. Biden’s tax increases could cripple an economy that is just beginning to recover from the pandemic downturn and hurt workers, even though the president has vowed not to raise taxes on individuals or households earning less than $400,000. They say that corporate tax increases will hurt business investment and growth, and that companies will pass some of those increases on to their workers in the form of lower wages.
“Ultimately, his political standing is judged by the health and well-being of the economy,” said Josh Holmes, a political adviser to Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader. “What he’s talking about from a tax perspective is administration-assisted suicide.”
But Mr. Holmes agreed that, at least in the short term, Mr. Biden was making a winning political calculation. “He’s right that corporate tax increases are not unpopular,” Mr. Holmes said.
But the political calculus for Republicans is that the policies themselves will prove unpopular with American voters by the midterm elections because of their effect on workers and the economy, he said.
Independent forecasters largely expect the economy to boom this year as the country reopens widely for economic activity on the strength of Covid-19 vaccinations. Analyses vary on how Mr. Biden’s $4 trillion agenda could affect that. Analysts at the Penn Wharton Budget Model predict they would hurt growth, on balance. Wells Fargo forecasters wrote this week that Mr. Biden’s infrastructure package, including the corporate tax increases that would fund it, would increase growth in the coming years.
The fight in Washington over Mr. Biden’s plans is a continuation of a battle that began under President Donald J. Trump, who signed a $1.5 trillion tax cut package into law in 2017.
Democrats successfully portrayed the cuts as benefiting the rich, and they never reached the kind of public popularity that Republican leaders envisioned.
Republicans largely abandoned plans to focus on the tax cuts during the 2018 midterm election campaigns
“There were far more Democratic ads about it than there were Republican ads,” said Geoff Garin, a Democratic pollster.
In many ways, those tax cuts have given Mr. Biden an opportunity, Mr. Garin said.
“When Biden talks about the corporate tax rate, he frames it in the context of rolling back the 2017 corporate tax cut as opposed to an out-of-the-blue increase on corporations,” he said. “It’s clear from polling that when you provide the context of the 2017 corporate tax cut, which most voters feel was excessive and wasteful, support for the Biden proposal goes even higher.”
White House officials also cite the 2017 law in explaining their aggressive stance on the tax issue. “The pandemic laid bare huge inequalities in this country,” said Anita Dunn, a senior White House adviser. “Even before, the 2017 tax cut was very unpopular.”
In memos to lawmakers on Capitol Hill and political allies obtained by The New York Times, Ms. Dunn outlined how raising taxes appeared to be a winning political issue for the president. She noted a Fox News poll from April that showed 56 percent of respondents favored paying for infrastructure plans by increasing the tax rate on businesses and corporations. And she flagged a Washington Post poll from last month that showed 58 percent of respondents supported raising the corporate tax rate to 28 percent.
In a second memo, she noted that some tax increases on the wealthy were even supported by a majority of Republican voters. WOW!!!
Republicans and business groups have responded by mounting a renewed defense of Mr. Trump’s tax cuts, casting them as the primary driver of economic growth in 2018 and 2019. Growth accelerated in the first year after the cuts were passed, but it decelerated in 2019, as many analysts had predicted when the cuts were approved.
Mr. Biden went out of his way on Wednesday to criticize Mr. Trump’s tax cuts and make the case that money raised from high earners would be better spent helping middle-class workers. YES!
While Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton both raised taxes on the wealthy, neither pitched their plans with the zeal Mr. Biden has employed in selling his proposals to raise the corporate tax rate, to force multinational companies to pay more to the U.S. government, and to increase income and capital gains taxes for very high earners.
“Nobody likes the tax increases,” Mr. Clinton said in an address to Congress in 1993, while unveiling his plan to raise the top marginal income tax rate for high earners.
Mr. Obama portrayed his tax increases as ending something instituted by his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, rather than ushering in a new increase.
“It’s time to let the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans — folks like myself — expire,” Mr. Obama said in 2012. “And, by the way, I might feel differently — because it’s not like I like to pay taxes — I might feel differently if we were still in surplus. But we’ve got this huge deficit.”
BUT BIDEN IS MAKING IT A REAL RALLYING CRY, AND AMERICANS, BOTH DEM AND REPUB, ARE AGREEING!

Biden Is Using Lies To Divide America
The current President’s record of lying is alarming. In 1988, Biden lost his first bid for the Presidency because the media actually reported he was a repeat plagiarist. He became president this time around at least in part because, in 2020, the mainstream media did not report his record of plagiarism. The Democrats of today also either chose to ignore his history or did not research their candidate, instead accepting the left-leaning media’s narrative at face value.
As a candidate, Biden announced his campaign with the “Charlottesville Lie”: The claim that President Trump was referring to Nazis and White supremacists when he said there were “were very fine people, on both sides.” In reality, President Trump was referring to people on both sides of the debate about removing the Robert E. Lee statue. One hopes this blatant and despicable untruth was shredded once and for all by David Schoen’s explication of the issue during the second impeachment trial.
As President, a couple of weeks ago Biden made a statement about Georgia’s election law. in which every allegation is untrue. The new law does not end voting hours early, end early voting, place restrictions on casting absentee ballots that deny “countless voters” the right to vote, reduce the number of polling sites, or criminalize providing water to voters waiting in line. I believe in redemption, but Biden’s behavior as a candidate and as president has not indicated he is anything but a bald-faced liar.

Maybe the Reverend can explain why if Biden and the Democrats are in such good shape, that they lost by 25% in that Texas Special election (and got shut out of the runoff) in what was thought to be a competitive seat that Trump only won by 3% just a few months ago?
Or perhaps the Reverend cannot explain it. Because unlike polling or opinion it actually was a tangible event and not subject to Politicalwire spin?
Actually, the only way to make it fail, it might be possible to use modern technology to determine the descendants of slave owners, who are still quite wealthy. They would be taxed to pay for the reconciliation process below.
The only other way is to determine what farms were stolen from African American families after the reconciliation procedure ended. Perhaps taxes could be used to reimburse the families. I don't support confiscating farm land and giving it to their descendants.
Truth is, it's not going to happen.
Actually, the only way to make it happen

Congrats to Joe and the lowest jobless claims in the trump era virus era!!!!!!!
Voter suppression is Jim Crow 2021 fired by the big lie that Trump actually won.
DeSantis signed the measure into law at political rally in West Palm Beach, arranged so he could take the action during the Fox News Channel morning show “Fox & Friends.” Hundreds of DeSantis supporters attended the event. Florida news reporters and photographers were excluded.
A coalition of left-leaning advocacy groups and public interest groups immediately filed a federal lawsuit challenging the new law. The League of Women Voters of Florida, Black Voters Matters Fund and Florida Alliance for Retired Americans termed it voter suppression and said it violates the Constitution.
The new law increases restrictions on drop boxes, requires voters to sign up for mail ballots more frequently and imposes additional ID and signature rules.
We are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The U.S. employment picture improved sharply last week, with first-time claims for unemployment insurance dipping below 500,000 for the first time since the pandemic crisis.
Initial claims totaled 498,000 for the week ended May 1, against the Dow Jones estimate of 527,000. That was down from the previous week’s total of 590,000, which saw a substantial upward revision from the initially reported 553,000.

Inside the Foreign-Funded “Hub Project” to Transform America
The most important megadonor you have never heard of
It’s a story that goes to the very heart of the left’s mountains of shadowy funding and professional activism: a foreign billionaire infamous for illegally funding Democrats, backing ghoulish medical treatments resulting in multiple deaths, and bankrolling a multi-million-dollar “dark money” campaign to transform America.
Meet Swiss-born Hansjörg Wyss (pronounced “Veese”), perhaps the most important megadonor you’ve never heard of. His Wyss Foundation, founded in 1998, quietly commands a stunning $2.2 billion in assets (as of 2018) and annually pours out tens of millions of dollars to activist groups—more than half a billion dollars between 2000 and 2018—so it’s little wonder that he’s been called the “new George Soros.”

What Separates Biden from Obama and Clinton
Ronald Brownstein:
“Both of the earlier administrations tended to view widening inequality as a kind of natural phenomenon—the inevitable result of structural changes in the economy, led by greater automation and more global economic competition.
“The Biden team views inequality much more as something molded by human hands—the result of policies that have weakened workers and strengthened corporations’ marketplace leverage. To a greater degree than Obama’s and especially Clinton’s teams, it believes that generating widely shared prosperity isn’t possible without aggressive government intervention.”
_____
IOW, we need strong government strongly FOR the people.
Energy secretary Jennifer Granholm is not the only prominent Democrat with financial ties to an electric bus company repeatedly boosted by the Biden administration, documents reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon show.
Nicholas and Joby Pritzker—members of Illinois Democratic governor J.B. Pritzker's megadonor family—own nearly 12 million shares of ArcLight through their venture capital fund, Tao Capital. ArcLight in January announced a $1.6 billion merger with Proterra, which will see the electric vehicle manufacturer go public in 2021. Granholm served on Proterra's board for nearly four years and still holds up to $5 million in company stock.
National Economic Council director Brian Deese is also tied to Proterra through BlackRock, the investment giant where he worked as global head of sustainable investing before joining the Biden administration. BlackRock is one of several investment firms that pumped a combined $415 million into the Proterra merger, and Deese reported holding more than $2.4 million in BlackRock vested restricted stock in his February financial disclosure. These investors are posed for steep gains, as ArcLight's stock price has surged 50 percent—from $11.90 to $18 per share—since January.

Well that wouldn't work very well, now would it Roger?
First... it assumes that every generation since the time of the civil war were only successful based on their previous generation's success and none of it was based on the hard work of any new generation.
Second... there are estimates that only a small percentage of Americans are actually descendants from slave owners, and most would only have a small percent affiliated to it. If someone had 1/128th of their blood attributed to a slave owner... would that be enough to demand that this person pay some sort of reparation that another person doesn't?
The reality is that reparations would come out of a general fund of taxes, rather than anything specific. Everyone in the country would be taxed to pay for reparations and it would end up going to people who likely have nothing do with being descendants of slaves.
American Greatness is at war with the fake Cancel Culture.
Taking On Colonialism and Cancelation of The Fake Systematic Racism.
A strong opening move would be to challenge our colonizers, and those who witlessly identify with them, to explicitly declare on which side their affections lie. Our elites have given us a wonderful opportunity to make this kind of polarization yield dividends. Their brazen pronouncements about “systemic racism” and “white supremacy,” now taken up by Joe Biden and other top Democrats, are nothing less than declarations of war on American identity and memory. Accordingly, let every politician, education official, and celebrity be asked unequivocally if he or she accepts these libels, with responses tallied, published, and politically acted upon. The process will discomfort many of anti-Americanism’s fellow travelers, driving a psychological wedge into colonialism’s ranks.

The Republican-led effort to allow Texans to carry handguns without any kind of license cleared what is likely its biggest remaining hurdle in the Capitol on Wednesday, when the Texas Senate moved in a nail-biter vote to bring the measure to the floor and then passed it,” the Texas Tribune reports.
“The measure – already passed by the Texas House – heads to a conference committee for the two chambers to hash out their differences, unless the House accepts the Senate amendments. Then, the bill heads to Gov. Greg Abbott, who said last week he would sign the permitless carry bill into law.”
When will we see video sessions of gunfights on the streets of Texas????

Pfizer, Moderna shares plummet after Biden administration backs a COVID-19 vaccine patent waiver
The United States will advocate for waiving COVID-19 vaccine patent protections in discussions with the World Trade Organization, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai announced Wednesday.
The Biden administration "believes strongly in intellectual property protections," Tai said in a statement, but the White House will back the waiver given the "extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic." The administration has faced pressure to support the measure, which is aimed at increasing vaccinations around the world — especially in countries experiencing a surge in infections, like India — without having to rely solely on exports.

Yes, we know she seethes with hatred for Trump as much as she loves decades-long interventionist wars without exit strategies or metrics for success. Good for her. But that's not what her job is, and, in fact, her twin obsessions have repeatedly led her down the wrong path...
E.g., not only was she not a needed truth-teller in pushing back against media/Democrats' false and dangerous 2016 election conspiracy theory about Russia, and its many attendant problems, she was also the prime pusher of the discredited, anonymously sourced Russian bounty story.
Just to keep the obvious points coming, WashPo, et. al, aren't all-hands-on-deck helping out Liz Cheney because they like Republicans, ok? They run Dem propaganda. They're trying to keep her and her unpopular ideas prominent in the GOP because she hurts the GOP.
Why do media NeverTrumpers who led messaging of the right during Bush-Cheney era support her so much? Likely just true believers who want party dragged back to unquestioning support of wars w/o exit strategies, corporatism, belief that truly fighting lefty media is gauche, etc.

Costs of Mitigation Efforts Vastly Outweigh Benefits for 89% of Population, Health Researchers Conclude
These results are all the more reason to leave decision-making to the individual judgment level.
COVID mitigation measures were always a question of costs and benefits, of good intentions versus unintended consequences. Two health researchers just concluded that for roughly 89 percent of Americans the benefits of both voluntary and government mitigation efforts alike have been vastly outweighed by their costs.
“The list of [pandemic policy] mistakes is long, but the most glaring was the failure to understand and act on the virus’s propensity to attack the old and vulnerable,” pharmaceutical consultant Charles L. Hooper and Hoover Institution health economist David R. Henderson write in the Wall Street Journal. “Policy makers failed, in other words, to understand the enemy.”
They looked at the fact that COVID-19 death rates varied widely among age groups, with an 85-year-old roughly 2,000 times more likely to die from the coronavirus than an 18-year-old. Then, they calculated the expected life years lost from infection for different age groups. Using this, the researchers estimated the value gained, on average, from mitigation measures for individuals of different age groups.
They weighed this against the costs of mitigation measures, which include “reduced schooling, reduced economic activity, increased substance abuse, more suicides, more loneliness, reduced contact with loved ones, delayed cancer diagnoses, delayed childhood vaccinations, increased anxiety, lower wage growth, travel restrictions, reduced entertainment choices, and fewer opportunities for socializing and building friendships.”
The result?
Hooper and Henderson conclude that—only looking at economic, not social costs—mitigation efforts cost young people $102,000 but only preserved an average of 7.5 hours of life per individual.
Would you pay $102,000 to live an extra 7.5 hours?” the researchers ask. “What 18-year-old values his time at $13,600 an hour?” However, they find that for the elderly the benefits of mitigation efforts do exceed the costs: “The benefits of protection, measured in life expectancy, are 210 times as high for the older person.”
“Had policy makers understood the enemy, they would have adopted different protocols for young and old,” Hooper and Henderson conclude. “Politicians would have practiced focused protection, narrowing their efforts to the most vulnerable 11% of the population and freeing the remaining 89% of Americans from wasteful burdens.”
I’d take it one step further.
The fact that costs and benefits associated with pandemic mitigation measures vary so enormously across different people is all the more reason to leave decision-making to the individual judgment level.
As Nobel-prize-winning economist F.A. Hayek wrote, “...the more the state ‘plans,’ the more difficult planning becomes for the individual.” That’s why top-down dictates by bureaucrats who try to plan for all of society only lead to more dysfunction.

Biden is the constitutionally elected president. Given the various voting irregularities in selected states, his legitimacy is somewhat a matter of opinion. I happen to think he's not for those reasons in addition to running a stealth campaign with the news media counted among his allies.
It stinks as a banana republic when the news media helps the party. In power to maintain and increase that power.

‘Trump Was a Comorbidity’
Just published:
The Premonition: A Pandemic Story
by Michael Lewis.
New York Times:
“We do not yet know how the movie ends. But Lewis, whose book is among the first wave of narrative accounts of the pandemic, is more interested in how it began.
Believed to be the rich country best prepared for a pandemic, we ended up with almost a fifth of the world’s Covid deaths.
Popular blame has centered, not undeservedly, on former President Donald Trump,
*who ignored his advisers’ warnings,
*publicly downplayed Covid’s dangers in the hopes of preserving his re-election chances and
*left states to fend for themselves.”
“But Lewis has a different thesis. As one character puts it,
‘Trump was a comorbidity.’
The rot ran deep through the American system of public health, and in particular the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, once considered a crown jewel of American government.”

What Trump Has to Fear from Rudy Giuliani
George Conway:
“As a former associate attorney general and former U.S. attorney, he surely understands that federal search warrants against lawyers don’t just fall off trees. The Justice Department doesn’t like them, out of respect for the attorney-client privilege. Prosecutors will use them if they have really strong evidence a lawyer is up to no good, and if very senior personnel in Washington agree. And, of course, only with the blessing of a federal court.
“That’s terrible news for Giuliani — just ask Michael Cohen, the last presidential lawyer raided by the FBI. It’s not good for the former guy, either. Giuliani’s travails have left him facing potentially staggering legal bills, which in apparent desperation he’s beseeching Trump to pay. And most important, Giuliani faces the prospect of jail.
“If Giuliani has anything to offer prosecutors to save himself, it would have to be Trump, the only bigger fish left. And it was arguably criminal for the then-president to have used his official powers to try to coerce foreign officials into aiding his reelection campaign. In fact, Giuliani’s admission that he wasn’t conducting foreign policy, but merely helping Trump personally, is exactly what would make the scheme prosecutable. The former guy just might want to rethink stiffing Giuliani on those bills.”
‘An Anti-Democratic Cult’
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
commented on Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) who will soon be “voted off” the House Republican leadership:
“Her crime: acknowledging the reality that Trump lost the election. The Republican Party is no longer a ‘conservative’ party. It is an anti-democratic cult pushing the Big Lie and conspiracy theories.”
In Tennessee, the Republicans in the House made the legislation a last-minute priority, introducing provisions that ban schools from instructing students white people enslaved millions of Africans. Before the Civil War.
At one time, the Constitution said that negroes were 3/5th of a person in the census.

The Fake News Media, working in close conjunction with Big Tech and the Radical Left Democrats, is doing everything they can to perpetuate the term “The Big Lie” when speaking of 2020 Presidential Election Fraud. They are right in that the 2020 Presidential Election was a Big Lie, but not in the way they mean. The 2020 Election, which didn’t even have Legislative approvals from many States (which is required under the U.S. Constitution), and was also otherwise corrupt, was indeed The Big Lie. So when they try to sell the American people the term The Big Lie, which they do in unison and coordination, think of it instead as the greatest Fraud in the history of our Country! An even greater Hoax than Russia, Russia, Russia, Mueller, Mueller, Mueller, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, or any of the other many scams the Democrats pulled!

How the White House Views the Republican Party
PLAYBOOK says:
“[The White House sees] a divided opposition gradually coalescing around devotion to an former president known primarily for one thing these days:
lying about the legitimacy of the 2020 election.
"And with the GOP mostly absent from any actual debate about policy,
the White House believes it has the upper hand and can easily define Republicans as handmaidens to the wealthy and corporate America. [WOW!]

Biden knows he has the advantage right now
Yeah... that 37.5% garnered by the Democrats in the Texas Special Election that they had actually hoped to win proves how big of an advantage Slow Joe really is for them.

And the goat fucker again makes shit up......BWAAAAAAAAA!!!! He's the leader of the stooge trump team....!!!!!
Totally of topic but
The Los Angeles Angels announced Thursday that they are releasing Albert Pujols, an almost certain Hall of Famer who was in the final year of the 10-year, $240 million contract he signed ahead of the 2012 season.
Pujols, 41, has appeared in 24 of 29 games at first base and designated hitter for the last-place Angels this season and has hit five home runs. He is hitting .198 with a .250 on-base percentage and .372 slugging percentage, which would be career lows for the 21-year MLB veteran, 2001 rookie of the year and three-time MVP.
“The Angels Organization proudly signed Albert Pujols in 2011, and are honored that he has worn an Angels jersey for nearly half of his Hall-of-Fame Career,” Angels owner Arte Moreno said in a team-issued statement. “Albert’s historical accomplishments, both on and off the field, serve as an inspiration to athletes everywhere, and his actions define what it means to be a true Superstar. Since his Rookie of the Year Season in 2001, Albert and his wife Deidre have generously given their time and resources to countless charities throughout the world. We are thankful to the entire Pujols Family.”

Opinion Piece
Biden’s Taiwan Policy Is Truly, Deeply Reckless
May 5, 2021
By Peter Beinart, a contributing Opinion writer who focuses on U.S. foreign policy.
Media coverage of President Biden’s foreign policy tends to focus on his efforts to withdraw from Afghanistan, get tough on Russia and negotiate with Iran. But none of those may prove as consequential as Mr. Biden’s quiet, incremental moves to establish official relations with Taiwan. Because only his policy toward Taiwan is meaningfully increasing the risk of world war.
He’s doing so by undoing a diplomatic fiction that for more than 40 years has served the United States, Taiwan and the world exceptionally well. In 1978, when the United States established diplomatic relations with Beijing, it agreed to pretend that there was only “one China.” The arrangement was absurd: Taiwan was, and is, effectively an independent country. But to Beijing, its de facto independence is the bitter fruit of imperialism — Japan stole away the island in 1895; America’s Seventh Fleet prevented the mainland from taking it back in 1950. By keeping U.S. relations with Taiwan unofficial, the “one China” fiction helped Beijing imagine that peaceful reunification remained possible. Which gave it an excuse not to invade.
Like the Trump administration before it, the Biden team is now progressively chipping away at this bargain. Last summer, Democrats removed the phrase “one China” from their platform. In January, Mr. Biden became the first American president since 1978 to host Taiwan’s envoy at his inauguration. In April, his administration announced it was easing decades-old limitations on official U.S. contacts with the Taiwanese government.
These policies are increasing the odds of a catastrophic war. The more the United States and Taiwan formally close the door on reunification, the more likely Beijing is to seek reunification by force. In 2005, China passed a law threatening war if Taiwan declares independence, and in recent years it has repeatedly greeted America’s moves away from the “one China” policy with displays of military force. As the Harvard political scientist Graham Allison has observed, “No Chinese national security official I have ever met, and no U.S. official who has examined the situation, doubts that China would choose war over losing territory it considers vital to its national interest.”
_______
The article continues. It is critical of both Trump and Biden regarding Taiwan.
Gee. I thought the quote was from Playbook. (see 2:05PM)
Yeah cold, what were you thinking the “pastor” would have an original?
C’mon man
What you didn't know. About two years before the divorce, we got a lower interest mortgage. My income made it possible. But she refused to put my name on the mortgage.
A few months before our tenth wedding anniversary, she started taking to a lawyer because in California, even if my name was not on the mortgage, since we didn't have to pre marriage agreement, I would have had a 1/2 share of the equity.
She started using the lawyer who figured out how to make changes, sufficient to get an eviction order.
I never hit Lydia. Never hit anyone except when I was a kid who used boxing gear.
I knew exactly what she was doing. She didn't want me to have a penny. I had done a lot of things on the house and it increased the value.
You are a racist, not me.
Eight Lovely AR-15 Facts
1)The AR stands for Armalite Rifle (not assault rifle) because the gun was developed by a company called “Armalite.”
2)It is not an “assault rifle.”
3)It’s not a machine gun either. It’s semi-automatic. One trigger squeeze gets you one commie stopper.
4)They are not used in a majority of mass shootings.
5)The Assault Weapons ban of 1994 didn’t keep ONE rifle from being made. It just called for certain gun modifications, like no lug for a bayonet (you know, to curb all the mass bayonet murders), no high-cap mags, flash suppressors, collapsible stocks, and no pistol grips.
6)Big, scary AR-15s actually come in many pretty colors. Great Lakes Fire Arms makes one in black cherry. You can find them in camo pink.
7)More people are murdered every year byedged weapons (knives, swords, Ginsus, etc.) than by ALL rifles combined (ARs, hunting, Civil War reenactors, etc.).
8)More people are murdered every year by feet and fists (Kung Fu, Krav Maga, punches) than by ALL rifles combined.

Then why are you so unwilling to give 1/2 of your current income to your former wife, who is the correct color for being a descendant of slaves? Put your reparation money where your mouth is!
Last time I checked, there was no plan to provide Koreans with any sort of reparations. So no obligation on my part.
And Roger... nobody is accusing of you of lighting up Lydia just because she was black. I am sure there are plenty of other reasons some people might think you smacked her around a little bit. You know, because you seem pretty bitter about how she had you evicted from the house you apparently raised the value of. That and filing restraining orders, calling the cops on you, etc. All reasons someone might want to take a swing at an ex.
But you claim you didn't... so I guess people will choose to believe or not.

data collected by Stop AAPI Hate and others, including the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino, has shown that incidents targeting the Asian-American community are continuing to spike in 2021 after racist stereotypes linked to the COVID-19 pandemic first fueled an uptick in 2020. The national news media has highlighted a recent spate of violent attacks on Asian-Americans, and investigators in Georgia have said they are taking a "hard look" at the motivations of a White shooter who killed six Asian-American women and two other people at three Atlanta-area spas in March.

Roger, DoD you miss the news put of China on the Virus?
Did. not DOD.
Elise Stefanik knows how to pick her battles.
At a small town-hall meeting in 2018, she called for President Donald Trump’s EPA administrator, Scott Pruitt, to resign.
The demands burnished the New York Republican’s brand as an independent thinker in her politically heterodox upstate district, which voted for Trump even though environment and climate change matter a lot to the ski resorts and lakeside retreats that dot the Adirondacks.
But when Democrats drafted a resolution demanding Pruitt’s resignation a few weeks later, Stefanik didn’t sign.
In an interview with the Watertown Daily Times and the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Stefanik defended the apparent flip-flop, saying the Democrats’ resolution was doomed in the GOP-led chamber. Signing it would’ve only escalated her discord with the White House — a fight she didn’t want. It would be better, she said, to get more Republicans to join her call than to sign on to the Democratic resolution.
The episode showcased Stefanik’s willingness to buck her party on policy, but not on politics, a quality that now might vault her into the upper echelon of GOP leadership.
On Tuesday, Minority Whip Steve Scalise, the No. 2 ranking Republican, supported calls to replace No. 3 Liz Cheney with Stefanik. On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump also endorsed Stefanik, whose national profile grew — and changed — dramatically during his first impeachment.
If that happens, the Republican conference chair will go from one of the party’s most steadfast conservatives to one of the most liberal members based on their voting records. And it will show that for the Republican Party, loyalty to Trump matters more than fealty to conservative ideology or democratic ideals.
‘Future’ of the party
Stefanik has always been a Republican star, albeit, until 2019, a rising one outside the national limelight. “Elise isn’t just the future of the Republican Party,” former House Speaker Paul Ryan wrote in 2019. “She is the future of hopeful, aspirational politics in America.”
She first won election in 2014 at the age of 30, making her the youngest female representative ever until Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s win in 2018. She flipped the North Country district, which had elected a moderate Democrat in the prior three elections and backed Barack Obama for president, twice.

You fucking HACK.
When you were absolutely fucking sure that all violence against Asians was being committed by whites that's all you and the rest of the left fucking talked about.
Now we discover that violence against Asians is being committed by 99.98% BLACK people, or NEGROES as you call them on your twitter feed, it's suddenly irrelevant.
How fitting it is that your "lovely Pomeranian bride" (WOOF!) took your ass to the goddamned cleaners.
LOL.
Asshole.
Did. not DOD.
Racist Roger is never color blind.
But on the one issue that appears to matter most to the former president — personal loyalty — she became unwavering. When the first Trump impeachment put the national spotlight on the House Intelligence Committee, some thought Stefanik — a moderate, an “independent voice” and someone who had backed the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election despite Trump’s grievances against it — might lend the hearings some bipartisan support.
Instead, she defended the president, loudly and fiercely, echoing his arguments denouncing the process as an illegitimate partisan hack job. She went on to repeat Trump’s lies about the 2020 election, supporting lawsuits to overturn the results, opposing Trump’s second impeachment, and voting — after a pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol — against its certification.
She's Scott's next best friend because she denied Insurrection!
Cheney, by contrast, denounced Trump after the Jan. 6 attacks and voted for his impeachment. And as Trump has continued to claim, without evidence, that the 2020 election was stolen, Cheney has continued to speak out against those claims, noting that they risk undermining Americans’ faith in the democracy that undergirds the legitimacy of government and the rule of law.
Stefanik’s relative willingness to defy the GOP orthodoxy on other issues — those unrelated to support for Trump’s assault on truth and democracy — has continued now that Biden is president. According to Voteview’s ideology ranking, she is more liberal than 98 percent of her party, while Cheney ranks right in the middle. FiveThirtyEight’s Biden voting score shows Stefanik voting with the Democratic president 18.8 percent of the time, with only 20 other Republicans supporting Biden more frequently.
It would be surprising to see that continue if she joins leadership, whose job largely consists of whipping votes and maintaining party unity. As they did when Obama was president, the Republican Party has embraced a strategy of near-total opposition to the president’s agenda while accusing Democrats of failing to act in a bipartisan manner.

Thursday funny story about how emotional you feel about Trump??
What was your favorite thing Trump did or said during his time in the office?
Two moments.
One was when he drew a circle over Alabama with a sharpie because he kept insisting that Alabama was within a hurricane’s projected path (it wasn’t).
The other is when he was asked to explain why Obama committed “the greatest political crime in American history.” You really have to read this word salad:
Rucker: In one of your Mother’s Day tweets, you appeared to accuse President Obama of “the biggest political crime in American history, by far” — those were your words. What crime exactly are you accusing President Obama of committing, and do you believe the Justice Department should prosecute him?
Trump: Obamagate. It’s been going on for a long time. It’s been going on from before I even got elected, and it’s a disgrace that it happened, and if you look at what’s gone on, and if you look at now, all this information that’s being released — and from what I understand, that’s only the beginning — some terrible things happened, and it should never be allowed to happen in our country again. And you’ll be seeing what’s going on over the next, over the coming weeks but I, and I wish you’d write honestly about it but unfortunately you choose not to do so.
Rucker: What is the crime, exactly, that you’re accusing him of?
Trump: You know what the crime is. The crime is very obvious to everybody. All you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours.

Sleepy Joe Biden once asserted Republicans would have an ‘epiphany.’ Now he admits he doesn’t understand them.
By Matt Viser
May 06 at 3:06 PM PDT
Joe Biden was speaking in a barn to a sparse campaign crowd in Iowa when he offered a prediction. “If we defeat Donald Trump,” he said that summer day in 2019, “you’re going to see, as we say in southern Delaware, an altar call. You’re going to see people all of a sudden see the Lord.”
The Republican Party, Biden suggested, would no longer be beholden to one man. Its leaders would not be intimidated by the former president’s blowback. Politics would return to a world where the two parties could argue fiercely without vitriolic personal attacks or the embrace of falsehoods.
But on Wednesday, in the fourth month of his own presidency, Biden offered a more flummoxed, less confident assessment: “I don’t understand the Republicans.”
