One of them got hit by a bus! |
Not only was is considered to be just wrong to use this tactic to elevate yourself, it became fairly obvious that this sort of gambit rarely, if ever, worked. Perhaps the spiteful high school girl clan who called all of their rivals sluts may have brought some element of fear to the table. Incentive not to get on their bad side, but it never really made the spiteful girls any more popular (at least not in any real sense).
It was considered wrong because it was both ethically wrong and it was not a successful means to accomplish your goal of elevation.
I am curious as to when this went away? What generation of Americans decided that you can in fact elevate some by tearing others down? When did this becomes so widely seen as both an ethical and successful manner to accomplish goals that it actually made it to the ranks of political leaders, many of whom are old enough to have been previously taught (and likely accepted) this important life lesson?
Because let's be honest here folks. The social justice campaign that we see spreading across America along with the ever-growing cancel culture is completely rooted in the concept of tearing people down. Tearing others down who disagree or are seen as a political enemy is the backbone to not only the social justice concept, but much of your Democratic political social ideals.
Now I am not just talking about the concept of doxing, cancelling, shaming, and other forms of bullying either. Those are bad enough. I am also talking about recent legislation, recent executive decisions, and recent policy revisions that are doing away with things like "accelerated learning" and other advanced schooling because these classes have too many yellow and white students and not enough black and brown. When the left is not cancelling, shaming, or tearing down those who disagree, they are using similar methods against their targets with the excuse that they are "leveling the playing field".
Meanwhile white farmers have been forced to sued the Biden administration over new policies that restrict white farmers from garnering the same aid as minority farmers. The American rescue plan apparently has a ton of rescue items that will specifically exclude white people from taking advantage. Could be the exact same situation. Same conditions, same income, same needs, but they will specifically be "excluded" if they are white. You know, in the name of "fairness".
In the case of the farm loan forgiveness, the law specifically calls out the particular races you must be to garner the benefit (which happens to be every race but white). Apparently there are multiple examples of this in the recent legislation. This is clearly a violation of most of our constitutional principle as well as past legal precedents. I would be shocked if it actually withstood court challenges.
But that is the world we live in. Somehow there is a belief that being white is akin to being in need of getting knocked down a few pegs, as if knocking down one person is now thought to elevate another. Of course this is a 180 degree turn from what my generation was taught growing up. Moreover, I tend to believe that we were taught correctly and that the mean girl cancel culture generation will eventually figure out that bullying doesn't actually work in the end. In fact I get the feeling that this whole thing is headed towards a collision with an oncoming bus.

I guess there has been no cancelling, shaming, or tearing down Obama, both Clintons, or Carter.
And surely Donald Trump has never been engaged in such despicable activity.
Anchor Chris Wallace said, “Can you guarantee with all this spending that we are not going to have a new round of overheating the economy and serious inflation?""""
Council of Economic Advisers chair Cecilia Rouse said, “These are very serious concerns, and we know that coming out of an extremely deep recession that there are going to be bumps along the way. We expect that there is going to be supply chain disruptions. That will cause some transitory increases in prices""
So that is new.
Inflation sure only Biden/Harris , the Federal reserve chairman and the Three Neo-Socialist Stooges of CHT think it is not a concern.
But, more enlightening is She had been warning Biden of inflation and "supply chain disruptions."
Like food, water and gasoline?
Suddenly, Inflation is a topic with Alky and Biden.
The bomb shell was ""supply chain disruptions.", that was new.

I’ve wondered if it’s worth sharing “my story.” I’m a pretty private person so it feels weird to share. But I think it’s worth it bc we all need encouragement that ordinary ppl can do something about what’s happening to our country. So, why do I talk about Woke stuff?
The Woke Mob: my survival story
My husband and I co-founded a justice-oriented non-profit org 11 years ago. At the time, we knew nothing about Critical Social Justice or Critical Theory. Our motivation was to address disparities in mental health care. 1/
We’d learned that lay people (ppl without clinical training) made up the majority of trauma care providers around the world working with vulnerable populations (refugees, human trafficking survivors, etc). We wanted to help equip those lay people with good resources. 2/
We hired clinically trained mental health professionals to develop our curriculum, oversee MEL, and run the international training program. Everything went great for about 7 years. We got accolades from all the right people in academia and partnered with orgs in 50+ countries. 3/
Then a few years ago we noticed a tone shift among our program staff. They became hyper-critical of *everything.* As Executive Director, my husband felt he was always on trial. Every word and action was scrutinized. We couldn’t figure out where this was coming from. 4/
We noticed shared rhetoric among the staff. Terms we heard often:
“systems of power and oppression”
“hegemony”
“marginalized identities”
“intersections”
“centering”
“deconstruct”
“knowledges”
“normativity”
Didn’t understand the ideology behind it, started doing some reading. 5/
Then the open letters started. The letters always went to everyone in the org (from the graphic designer to the governing board), they always asserted vaguely that the organization was “causing harm,” and they always ended with demands. We were alarmed and confused. 6/

PANDEMIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
Q: Why do I still need to wear a mask after I’m fully vaccinated?
A: You don’t need to wear a mask outdoors when fully vaccinated, except in crowds (such as at a sports stadium or a concert), nor do you have to wear one indoors among other vaccinated people or members of your own household.
But there are situations where you still need to mask up. You could still get infected with the coronavirus, and although it would most likely be mild or asymptomatic, you could transmit the virus to another person. Again, the odds of that happening are low, and there is encouraging data from Israel that suggests vaccinations dramatically reduce community spread.
But remember: A vaccination campaign is not simply about protecting the vaccinated individual. The goal is to build immunity broadly. Moreover, many communities still require masks in public settings — so it’s the law. It’s also polite — you don’t want to make people guess if you’ve been vaccinated or not. That probably will change when infection rates plummet and vaccinations are far more widespread.
“It is also a show of solidarity that we are still in this together,” said Maria Van Kerkhove, technical lead for the World Health Organization’s covid-19 response. “It’s about you and your community, your family, your friends, your workplace, your loved ones. It’s not just about you.”
At some point, viral transmission will plummet. We’re a long way from that point. As long as the virus is circulating in our communities, we need to use what we can to limit the spread and drive down the infection rate.
“Because [the vaccines] are not perfect, that’s precisely why we are urging people to be cautious,” Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy said in a recent White House covid-19 task force news briefing. “We have great confidence in vaccines. We understood they are not perfect.”
Q: If you’re vaccinated, are you definitely protected against the coronavirus?
A: You’re very likely protected from symptomatic illness. That’s why Adalja, echoing the consensus, said, “These vaccines are something that will change your life.”
In clinical trials, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were about 95 percent effective in blocking symptomatic illness after two shots. The one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine was not quite as effective but just as good at preventing severe illness and death — which is the highest public health priority in a pandemic like this.
Q: But aren’t there also breakthrough infections?
A: As of April 26, the CDC had documented 9,245 breakthrough infections among fully vaccinated people. But look at the denominator: Those cases were among more than 95 million people. That’s fewer than 1 in 10,000 people vaccinated. (The agency noted that this is probably an undercount because of lack of testing and surveillance.) Of those rare breakthrough cases known to the CDC, 27 percent were asymptomatic and only 9 percent required hospitalization.
Adalja said people need to focus on probabilities and not anecdotes.
“This is kind of a cognitive bias that people have with many kinds of risk. It’s just like when there’s a shark attack in Australia. How much coverage does that get?” he said.
Q: Should people who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine worry about blood clots?
A: If you notice unusual and serious side effects, such as severe headaches, contact your doctor. But the risk is extremely low. Federal regulators reauthorized the use of the vaccine after a 10-day pause, having found 15 cases of a serious clotting disorder among the 7 million people who had received the vaccine at that time. By any calculation, the risk of a bad vaccine reaction is much less than the risk of getting a serious case of covid-19.
Paul A. Offit, a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia who is an expert on vaccination, suggests that the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine suffers from bad timing. Had it been approved first, before the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, its many virtues would have been celebrated and the rare side effects minimized.
He noted that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is “refrigerator stable” for up to five weeks. The vaccine is appealing to public health officials because it’s one-and-done and can be more easily deployed in remote locations and in places where recipients are homebound.
Q: How long will natural or vaccine-induced immunity last?
A: No one knows, but the initial evidence is encouraging, said Alessandro Sette, a professor of immunology at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology. A research paper published by Sette and fellow researchers in January showed that 90 percent of people who recovered from a coronavirus infection had robust levels of immunity eight months after they became sick. Immunity did not suddenly drop after eight months — that was merely the limit of the research period.
“Ninety percent having a good immune response also means 10 percent don’t. That is a reason for vaccinating and being careful even if you had the disease,” Sette said.
Immunity post-vaccination also appears durable, and there is less variability in levels of antibodies and other immune system cells following a vaccination than following a natural infection, Sette said.
Because this is a novel disease, and vaccines have not been widely deployed for very long, it is too soon to know how long antibodies will last. But Sette pointed out that the immune system has other weapons against invasive viruses, including “killer T-cells,” which continue to be able to recognize infected cells and kill them, preventing viral replication.
Q: Do the vaccines work against these new virus variants? And shouldn’t we be worried about a new variant that has even scarier, vaccine-evading mutations?
A: The immune response generated by vaccines is sufficiently protective against coronavirus variants to prevent most people from getting seriously ill.
Infectious-disease experts do worry about future mutations that could allow the virus to exhibit vaccine evasion. That said, there are limits to how much the virus can mutate — how much it can change its structure — and still function, according to Sette.
“The virus has to walk a tightrope,” he said. The virus can mutate to escape the effect of a specific antibody, but “it can’t change too much.”
He added, “While the virus has surprised us this year in a number of ways, the data we’ve seen so far does not suggest there’s an infinite number of ways the virus can mutate and escape immune recognition and still be as infectious.”
Q: When will we reach herd immunity?
A: No one knows what level of immunity would throttle virus transmission, and it probably varies from one environment to another and from one season of the year to another. But in the United States, at least, vaccinations have already had an effect. The virus increasingly is slamming into immune-system walls. Eventually, with enough vaccinations, most of the people who get infected will be dead-end alleys for the virus.
The virus appears destined to pop up in smaller outbreaks that could be more easily contained. But the virus won’t disappear, especially because it continues to spread at catastrophic rates in many countries that have low levels of vaccination. The only infectious disease-causing virus ever eradicated is smallpox.
For now, successful navigation of the pandemic may simply mean taking steps to reduce the threat of a serious case of covid-19 (as best as anyone can determine it) to the level of other threats that we typically tolerate, and which don’t tend to keep us awake at night.

More than a year into the pandemic, we’re still figuring out what risks we’re willing to take
In Chicago, people enjoyed warm spring weather along Lake Michigan on April 27, the same day the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidelines on mask-wearing.
By Joel Achenbach
May 3, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. CDT
When the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week issued guidelines for what vaccinated people can safely do, the agency employed the word “risk” 43 times.
The word often carried a modifier, like so: increased risk, residual risk, low risk, potential risk, minimal risk, higher risk. The CDC did not define “low,” “minimal” or “higher,” instead using broad brushstrokes to paint a picture of post-vaccination life.
For example: “Indoor visits or small gatherings likely represent minimal risk to fully vaccinated people.”
On Wednesday, CDC director Rochelle Walensky said she could not give a definitive answer to what a “small” gathering is, because there are too many variables.
“If we define a small- and medium-sized gathering, we actually also have to define the size of the space that it’s in, the ventilation that is occurring, the space between people. And so, I think we should get back to the the general concepts,” Walensky said.
The situation has left people where they’ve been since the start of the pandemic: forced to play the role of amateur epidemiologist.
In the early days of the pandemic, we wondered if we could catch the coronavirus from a passing jogger and if our groceries, fresh from the store and resting on the kitchen counter, threatened to kill us. Science has attenuated some of our earliest fears. But more than a year into this crisis, we’re still trying to perform complicated risk calculations while relying on contradictory research and shifting CDC guidance.
Risk analysis is not something humans are necessarily good at. We rely on anecdotes more than scientific data. The questions we ask rarely have a simple yes or no answer. Risk tends to be on a sliding scale. Outside of self-isolation, there is no obvious way to drive the risk of viral transmission to zero, nor is risky behavior guaranteed to result in a dire outcome. We have no choice but to live probabilistically.
The risk landscape keeps changing as well. The virus is mutating, and there are many different variants in circulation. Many people are now fully vaccinated, some only partially vaccinated (in between shots, for example), some unvaccinated and some armored with a level of immunity through natural infection. Add the extreme variation in disease severity because of age and underlying conditions, and the risk equations get so long we may run out of chalkboard.
The restrictions imposed by governments have sometimes made little sense. Casinos were open before schools in some states. Mask mandates outdoors remained in place even when indoor dining became permitted.
“It seems to me if we are going to have indoor dining, we should have mask-free jogging,” Harvard epidemiologist Marc Lipsitch said in an email.
One thing that is incontrovertibly true: The coronavirus vaccines are remarkably safe and effective, and people should get vaccinated if possible.
“These are off-the-scale good,” said Amesh Adalja, an infectious-disease doctor and senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. “These are much better than vaccines that we rely on every year, like the flu vaccine.”
Even for people sold on vaccines, there remain lingering questions about what is and isn’t safe, and what is and isn’t the proper way to go about daily life in an increasingly vaccinated society. Here, we present some answers, with the caveat that our knowledge of the coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, is still evolving, as is the virus itself.

I can't believe this even needs to be said, but the CDC has zero legal or moral authority to tell you to do anything, and its "guidance" carries the same force as bathroom wall graffiti and should be treated with similar deference. Live your life and tell bureaucrats to get bent.
Obviously dems are picking and chosing what CDC guidelines they choose to enforce.
If you truly believe in the CDC you would follow their guidelines and cook all meat to well done

American politics is moving left. Surely it is relevant to political analysis that progressive causes now include packing (again) the Supreme Court, eroding the Senate filibuster, abolishing or effectively abolishing the Electoral College, statehood for the District of Columbia, an epidemic of emergency powers and executive orders at all levels of government, the revival of “socialism” (never far from progressive “democracy”) as a moral, political, and economic possibility for America, the expungement of American history as systemically racist and oppressive, the contraction of religious liberty and especially of public expression of commonsense morality, unending affirmative action with negative implications for colorblind law, and a Woke, “antiracist” revolution to proscribe Politically Incorrect words, opinions, and people, which revolution threatens to turn our republican government into a race-based oligarchy.
Only an adequate political analysis of these developments could, I’m afraid, reveal what is good and bad in our politics today. No doubt it would also “stir up the troops,” previously called citizens.

The Washington Post replied.
The work underway in schools takes a wide variety of forms. Officials are adding the perspectives and experiences of people of color to curriculum, challenging teachers to examine their biases, and reviewing policies on discipline, advanced coursework and other matters with an eye to identifying and closing racial disparities. Districts are conducting “equity audits” to review their data on race. They are hiring diversity and inclusion consultants and full-time coordinators to ensure an ongoing focus on race, and they are incorporating racial equity into their district strategic planning.
The loudest critic had been Donald Trump, who as president charged that schools were spreading “hateful lies” to children by teaching about slavery and racism, saying those topics insulted the country and its founders. He was particularly fierce about the New York Times’s 1619 Project, a collection of articles and essays arguing that the nation’s true founding year is 1619, the year enslaved Africans were brought to the shores of what would become the United States.
Trump created a commission, since disbanded, to promote a rosier, more “patriotic” view of U.S. history.
Now conservative pundits, lawmakers and others are arguing that schools are teaching students to see race where they never would on their own and promoting reverse discrimination in an effort to unravel disparate racial outcomes.
It's not reparations you drunken fool.

WASHINGTON — In a potentially significant shift in the debate over combating sexual assault in the military, the nation’s top general says he is dropping his opposition to a proposal to take decisions on sexual assault prosecution out of the hands of commanders.
Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stopped short of endorsing the changes recommended by an independent review panel. But in an interview with The Associated Press and CNN, Milley said he is now open to considering them because the problem of sexual assault in the military has persisted despite other efforts to solve it.
Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stopped short of endorsing the changes recommended by an independent review panel. But is now open to considering them because the problem of sexual assault in the military has persisted.
“We’ve been at it for years, and we haven’t effectively moved the needle,” he said. “We have to. We must.”
The comments by Milley, as arguably the most influential officer and as the senior military adviser to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and to President Joe Biden, are likely to carry considerable weight among the service chiefs and add to momentum for the change.
Austin, himself a former senior commander and former vice chief of the Army, has not publicly commented on the review commission’s proposal, but it is his creation and thus its recommendations are seen as especially weighty. Lawmakers are also stepping up pressure for the change.
Milley said he would reserve judgment on the proposal to take prosecution authority on sexual assault cases away from commanders until the review commission has finished its work and its recommendations are fully debated within the military leadership.
The review commission submitted its initial recommendations to Austin late last month. Officials have said they expect him to give service leaders about a month to review and respond.
The review panel said that for certain special victims crimes, designated independent judge advocates reporting to a civilian-led office of the Chief Special Victim Prosecutor should decide two key legal questions: whether to charge someone and, ultimately, if that charge should go to a court martial. The crimes would include sexual assault, sexual harassment and, potentially, certain hate crimes.
This goes against longstanding and vehement Pentagon opposition to such moves.
“I was adamantly opposed to that for years,” Milley said, speaking during a military flight Sunday. “But I haven’t seen the needle move" — referring to a failure to reduce the number of reported sexual assaults.

Powerful teachers union influenced CDC on school reopenings, emails show
The American Federation of Teachers lobbied the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on, and even suggested language for, the federal agency’s school-reopening guidance released in February.
The powerful teachers union’s full-court press preceded the federal agency putting the brakes on a full re-opening of in-person classrooms, emails between top CDC, AFT and White House officials show.
The emails were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by the conservative watchdog group Americans for Public Trust and provided to The Post.
The documents show a flurry of activity between CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, her top advisors and union officials — with Biden brass being looped in at the White House — in the days before the highly-anticipated Feb. 12 announcement on school-reopening guidelines.

Biden says Americans earning less than $400,000 will 'not pay a single penny in taxes'
He is a man of his word.
Mrs. Broke-it Harris still can't find the US Southern border.
Republicans are stepping up criticism of President Joe Biden's continued mask-wearing in public settings outside — despite Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines declaring it's safe to go maskless outdoors if fully vaccinated.
On Monday, the Republican National Committee's Tommy Pigott chided "it's impossible to tell" if Biden is fully vaccinated because he "routinely wears a mask when on a stage outside, or when walking alone outside with Jill Biden, who has also been vaccinated."
"Astonishingly, Biden even wore a mask outside alone ... while announcing new CDC guidance saying you do not need to wear a mask outside alone," Pigott, the RNC's rapid response director, said in an email.
"He even bizarrely suggested that violating CDC guidance on wearing a mask when with other vaccinated people is a 'patriotic responsibility.'"
Pigott suggested Biden's continued mask-wearing is "undoubtedly" helping to "undermine vaccine confidence, and he doesn't seem to care."
"His unscientific actions are confusing the American people and undermining confidence in the vaccine as he slow-walks reopening on schools and businesses," Pigott charged. "It's time for Biden to follow the science, remove the mask, and open his eyes."
Fox News' Sean Hannity also hit Biden for the mask-wearing in his show April 30.
"Our question is, why is Mr. Follow the Science still wearing a mask and what kind of message is he sending here?" Hannity stated. "Does he want Americans to think the vaccines maybe have suspicious they're not as effective as they've been telling us? Does he want mass mandate social distancing in perpetuity forever? You know how is it that — how is any of this getting us back to normal life?"

Trump said the right words to Americans who felt disenfranchised, and did well with many others despite being often embarrassing. But he dragged around too much baggage from decades of public life and never learned how to get things done in Washington. His opposition meanwhile was comical, clinging like Jack on that Titanic raft to a fully false Russian narrative for three years.
But with eye toward how this has evolved among rightists in Europe, think about the next guy, who is articulate and smart, who can subtly turn the volume knob up or down as needed when addressing angry unemployed workers or impatient suburbanites whose kids can’t get into a good school due to quotas, both groups worn by taxes imposed to pay for the Democratic vision, both groups suffering from rising crime even as leaders call for defunding the police. Think of a Keanu, not a Pompeo.
Put that slicky boy candidate into a world where the media which backstopped Biden is even more granular, where the big guys like CNN matter even less, and new platforms emerge to make Twitter and Facebook less significant. The media’s credibility is heading toward the bottom anyway. Some 58 percent of us already think “most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public.” They’ll still make money off the clicks of their converted cleric audience, but they will not influence others as much.
The kind of candidate likely to emerge from all this will promise to take charge, to roll unwanted change backwards, and will manipulate the newly validated laws which say discrimination by race is what people want. He will find an audience grown larger by ham-handed efforts to impose a partisan rough splash of social change against the majority will.
He will be called a fascist or an authoritarian and he may be so, but he will also be seen as the least bad answer to a system that has already swung way too far from center.
“We can’t embrace the notion the election is stolen. It’s a poison in the bloodstream of our democracy. We can’t whitewash what happened on January 6 or perpetuate Trump’s big lie. It is a threat to democracy. What he did on January 6 is a line that cannot be crossed.”

What’s an Ex-citizen To Do?
First, stop pretending. Begin by rejecting—in heart and mind entirely, and publicly as prudence may dictate—the authority of the oligarchs who now control what used to be our republican institutions. Realize that you enjoy the rights God gave you only to the extent that your fellow ex-citizens recognize them, and that your only hope of continuing enjoyment lies in leaguing with them, on turning your back on the oligarchy and on effectively living republican lives with similarly minded people.
Citizenship is possible only when the many join together in the kind of mixed regime for the general good that our oligarchs rejected. Turning our backs to the oligarchy is possible for the twin purpose of rejecting un-republican rule and as the assertion of a new republican way of life. Citizenship happens when individuals join together under leaders of their choice to achieve common goals, both positive and negative.
Rejection of oligarchy is possible, even easy, if and when large numbers of persons do it together. This goes for ostensibly private corporations as well as for formerly republican institutions now in the oligarchs’ hands. The moment that millions of Americans, whether led by actual state governors in league with one another or by prospective presidents, recognize that Twitter and Facebook are enemy institutions, their power ends. The moment that millions are led to boycott Costco, or Pfizer, their officers are fired. The moment that these millions, so led, refuse the legitimacy of anything coming from Washington, its power ends.
Our oligarchs, having seen how easy it was to cower the majority of Americans to agree to the stupid, self-destructive practices of mask-wearing and lockdowns, having rejoiced in ruining the lives of small numbers of individual dissenters, believing that, under the media’s cover, their threats to crush opponents as white supremacists will forestall serious resistance, fantasize about applying the tools of the war on terror to America’s population.
But no. Their success was due to what remained of the American people’s confidence in them. That is now gone. The oligarchs have the FBI and CIA, and the Pentagon’s generals. But who will risk his pension, never mind his life, for them? Who will risk anything for Kamala Harris, never mind Joseph Biden?
Nor, in 2021, can anybody stop the governors and legislatures of any number of states from leading their peoples in settling what is and is not acceptable to them, how they shall and shall not live—that is, nobody can stop them as they decide to govern themselves.
The American people, divided as they are, cannot purge the oligarchs from what had been republican institutions. But those so minded have full power to defend themselves from them and to leave them to their own devices.

A new CIA recruitment video has been widely ridiculed online after the recruit described herself as an 'intersectional cisgender millennial'.
The unnamed CIA officer, 36, tells viewers she is 'unapologetically me', adding that she to suffer from 'imposter syndrome' but now refuses to 'internalize misguided patriarchal ideas of what a woman can or should be.'
But the clip has sparked a fierce reaction online with users labelling it 'woke'. Another said: 'The world is laughing at us.'
Donald Trump Jr. tweeted: 'China and Russia will love this.'
Former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright, tweeted: 'The CIA used to be about mission to country. (I speak from experience).
'Now it's now about demanding — and getting — accommodation to fix an emotional wound or advance a personal agenda. America is less safe with this new CIA, and dangerously more political.'
Another Twitter user compared it to a Saturday Night Live skit.
Glenn Greenwald, part of a team that won a Pulitzer for reports about government surveillance programs based on leaks by Edward Snowden, tweeted: 'Lots of people who pay no attention to the CIA and the security state seem to think this CIA video is the first time they've promoted, endorsed and embraced woke ideology.
'They've been doing it for years. I wrote about back in 2015.'
The clip was shared to Twitter on April 28 in a post which read: 'I am unapologetically me. I want you to be unapologetically you, whoever you are.
'Whether you work at #CIA, or anywhere else in the world. Command your space. Mija, you are worth it.'

“Lord, Lord, how this world is given to lying!”
— “Henry IV,” Part 1, Act 5
For the activist base of the Republican Party, affirming that Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential contest has become a qualification for membership in good standing. For the party’s elected leaders, accepting the clea
result of a fair election is to be a rogue Republican like the indomitable Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo.) — a target for Trump’s anger, public censure and primary threats.
Nothing about this is normal. The GOP is increasingly defined not by its shared beliefs, but by its shared delusions. To be a loyal Republican, one must be either a sucker or a liar. And because this defining falsehood is so obviously and laughably false, we can safely assume that most Republican leaders who embrace it fall into the second category. Knowingly repeating a lie — an act of immorality — is now the evidence of Republican fidelity.
Once again, the only voter fraud in the entire country has been by Trump supporters.......BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Weeks before Election Day, Bruce Bartman mailed his mother’s absentee ballot with a check mark next to President Donald Trump’s name.
The problem was, his mother had been dead since 2008.
Bartman, 70, pleaded guilty on Friday to a charge of felony perjury and unlawful voting — and blamed his decision to cast the fraudulent ballot on consuming too many false claims about the election.
“I was isolated last year in lockdown,” Bartman said, while apologizing to the
udge for his crime, the Associated Press reported. “I listened to too much propaganda and made a stupid mistake.”
Samuel Stretton, Bartman’s attorney, added in court that his behavior was “a very misguided political mistake, and very stupid,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
THE LEFT WILL NEVER SEE IT COMING:
Opponents of this philosophy won, and by no small margin. The slate of candidates arrayed against these ideas beat out opponents by roughly 70 to 30 percent, taking two school board seats, two city council seats, and the mayoralty. What’s more, turnout in this unconventionally timed race ballooned by as much as three times the rate at which voters typically participate in Southlake, Texas municipal elections.
There are lessons in these results that Democrats would be well-served to internalize, but that seems an unlikely prospect. In reporting on the outcome of the municipal elections, NBC News framed the revolutionary proposals on which Texans were asked to vote as nothing more than “diversity and inclusion training requirements.” Its critics, NBC reported, claimed that the new methodology would “institutionalize discrimination,” but the vote against this “pro-diversity plan” was generally dismissed as the verdict of a “historically conservative city” where “74 percent of residents are white.” As one member of the small minority of parents who supported these efforts mourned, “it feels like hate wins.”
Such a framing presents the victorious opponents of these measures not as a vanguard but as the reactionary and hidebound remnants of an outmoded political theory. That could be highly misleading, but you can see how it would comfort wounded anti-racism campaigners. After all, this exercise in narrative crafting is familiar.
* * * * * * * *
To judge from their preferred media venues, the left is more inclined to discredit critics of an agenda centered around the tenets of anti-racism philosophy than they are to take stock of the resonance of those critiques. If election results in Southlake are any indication, this is a losing issue for the left. For the moment, Democrats seem constitutionally incapable of taking the hint.

Corporate News Outlets Again "Confirm" the Same False Story, While Many Refuse to Correct it
Journalists with major outlets know they spread a false, retracted story about the FBI and Giuliani but refuse to remove it, because their real job is spreading disinformation.
One of the primary plagues of corporate journalism, which I have documented more times than I can count, just reared its ugly head again to deceive millions of people with fake news. When one large news outlet publishes a false story based on whispers from anonymous security state agents with the CIA or FBI, other news outlets quickly purport that they have “independently confirmed” the false story, in order to bolster its credibility (oh, it must be true since other outlets have also confirmed it).
This is an obvious scam — they have not “independently confirmed” anything but rather merely acted as servants to the same lying security state agents who planted the original false story — but they do it over and over, creating the deceitful perception that a fake story has been "confirmed” by multiple outlets, thus bolstering its credibility in the public mind. It was the favored tactic for spreading debunked Russiagate frauds and is still used. One of the most vivid examples occurred in December, 2017, when CNN falsely reported what it hyped as "a major bombshell”: that Donald Trump, Jr. had advance access to the WikiLeaks archive. Within an hour, NBC News’ Ken Dilanian and CBS News both claimed they had “independently confirmed” this fairy tale. When it turned out that it was a complete lie, all based on a false date on an email to Trump Jr., these outlets embarrassingly corrected it hours later and then simply moved on as if it never happened, never explaining how multiple outlets could possibly have all “independently confirmed” the same blatant falsehood.
On Thursday night, The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources (of course), claimed that the FBI gave a "defensive briefing” to Rudy Giuliani in 2019, before he traveled to Ukraine, that he was being targeted by a Russian disinformation campaign to hurt Joe Biden's candidacy, yet he ignored the FBI's warnings and went anyway. The Post also claimed that the right-wing news outlet OANN was similarly briefed. The claim about Giuliani not only predictably ricocheted all over social media and cable news — where, as usual, it was uncritically treated as Truth — but it was shortly thereafter “independently confirmed” by both NBC News’ de facto CIA spokesman Ken Dilanian along with The New York Times.
What was the problem with this story? It was totally false. The FBI never briefed Giuliani on any such thing. As a result, The Washington Post had to append this "correction” — meaning a retraction — to the top of its viral story:

New York and its neighbors New Jersey and Connecticut announced on Monday that they were lifting almost all their pandemic restrictions, paving the way for a return to fuller offices and restaurants, a more vibrant nightlife and a richer array of cultural and religious gatherings for the first time in a year.
The relaxation of rules starting May 19 is a testament to the fact that coronavirus cases are down and vaccination rates are rising, offering a chance to jump-start the recovery in a region that became a center of the global pandemic last spring.
New York will also bring back 24-hour service to the subway on May 17, after a year of overnight closures, a move critical for night-shift workers and a symbolic boost to a city that takes pride in a transit system that had, until the pandemic, never closed for extended periods.
“Today is a milestone for New York State and a significant moment of transition,” said Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, who made the announcement in tandem with the governors of the two other states, reflecting how the region has tried to coordinate its response to the public health emergency.
Mr. Cuomo, in announcing the sweeping changes, sought to accelerate New York’s rebound and coax back workers and tourists vital to the city’s economy and its dynamism. Last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio had set a goal of July 1 for fully reopening the city.
The fireworks are back!
Get your vaccine injection today and protect yourself and your family!

ATLANTA, GA—While Empire actor Jussie Smollett has been having a tough week so far, there appears to be a silver lining: cable news channel CNN has offered Smollett a job as an investigative reporter and on-air anchor after witnessing his skills at fabricating a story entirely out of thin air.
CNN producers were reportedly impressed throughout the ongoing saga of Smollett's apparent hoax attack on himself. They realized early on the facts didn't add up but were fascinated with how well the actor kept the narrative going. An HR rep quickly reached out to Smollett to see if he'd be interested in taking on a position at the news organization after news broke that the entire thing was probably fabricated.
"Smollett has exactly the kind of skills we look for at our fine organization," said CNN correspondent Brian Stelter. "He picked a narrative, made up all the relevant facts and details, and stuck with his story in spite of glaring holes in the plot. It's hard to find people who understand our core values here at CNN, but Smollett seems to be just the guy for us."
The actor has accepted the offer and is now undergoing training to learn how to weave even more intricate narratives ex nihilo, according to insiders.

sident said, “We kept our commitment — Democrats and Republicans — of sending $1,400 rescue checks to 85 percent of American households.” However, the American Rescue Plan, which delivered the checks, was hardly a bipartisan effort, with Democrats using budget reconciliation to pass the measure without any Republican support.
Biden also made some dubious claims about the economy, saying he had inherited the “worst economic crisis since the Great Depression” and created “more jobs in the first 100 days than any president on record.”
According to National Review, it was egregious that Biden gave credit to the R's on the stimulus checks.....I am sure some one here will question that.......LOLOLOLOLOLOL

STUDY: PolitiFact's 8 Times as Likely to Defend Biden Than Check His Facts
PolitiFact insists that they are nonpartisan fact checkers. “The PolitiFact agenda is – don’t take sides with any politician or party,” claimed editor Angie Drobnic Holan. “We’re independent and we work hard to find the truth. So we follow the facts wherever they take us, regardless of who made the claim.”
That claim is not factual. A new study by the Media Research Center finds that four years ago, PolitiFact offered 52 fact checks with a “Truth-O-Meter” ruling of Donald Trump in his first 100 days (January 20 to April 30, 2017), while in the same period this year, PolitiFact offered just 13 fact checks of President Biden.
Since the media insist Trump’s in his own category on truth and falsehood, let’s suggest a different metric. On its website, PolitiFact splits its Biden verdicts into “Facts Checks Of Biden” and “Fact Checks About Biden.” Our review of the first 100 days shows 13 fact checks “of Biden,” and 106 fact checks “about Biden.” That’s an eight-to-one disparity.

The definition of ‘infrastructure’
“The president’s plan is not an infrastructure plan. Only 5 percent of it goes to infrastructure.”
— Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-La.), in an interview on “Fox & Friends,” May 3, 2021
Some Republicans keep repeating this Three-Pinocchio talking point, which seriously distorts Biden’s $2.25 trillion infrastructure spending proposal.
Granted, the Biden plan includes large expenses such as $400 billion to expand home-care services under Medicaid and more than $100 billion in electric vehicle incentives and purchases, among many other items that do not fit the traditional definition of public infrastructure as concrete-and-steel structures for transportation, and wires and pipes for utilities.
But Kennedy’s “5 percent” talking point does a disservice to anyone seeking a neutral breakdown of the $2.25 trillion spending plan.

Racism is not a Democratic hoax
An Asian woman in New York City was attacked in the head with a hammer by a stranger who demanded the victim remove her mask, police said Monday.
The New York Police Department's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the assault. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.
The attack occurred about 8:40 p.m. ET Sunday in the 410 block of West 42nd Street, which is in Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan, police said.
Police released surveillance video that showed the moment a woman appeared to accost two Asian women walking on the sidewalk from behind. The woman demanded that they remove their masks before striking one of them in the head with a hammer, police said.
Racism is not a Democratic hoax.
LOS ANGELES -- A Los Angeles County deputy was praised Monday for keeping his calm after a female driver pulled over for allegedly using her cell phone while driving went into a racist rant against Mexicans.
The woman, who was blurred out in the video, called the deputy a "Mexican racist," and after signing the citation, said, "You’re always going to be a Mexican; you’ll never be White, you know that right? You’ll never be White. Which is what you really want to be, you want to be White."
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told Bill Melugin, the Fox reporter, that he commended the deputy for remaining calm throughout the interaction. The report said the deputy identifies as Latino. He recorded the interaction on a personal bodycam because his station in San Dimas does not have official cameras.
The woman, who identified herself as a teacher, seemed to be combative during the entire interaction and called the deputy a murderer on several occasions and accused him of harassment. At one point she said, "You’re threatening to kill me and my son."
She demanded that he call his supervisor, who appeared to show up at the end of the video.
The department said it is investigating the matter.
"This Deputy exemplifies the core values of our Department, his demeanor during this traffic stop is just an example of professionalism and patience our @LASDHQ Deputies have," Villanueva tweeted.

An Asian woman in New York City was attacked in the head with a hammer by a stranger who demanded the victim remove her mask, police said Monday.
The attacker was BLACK, alky.
BLACK, AGAIN.
LOS ANGELES -- A Los Angeles County deputy was praised Monday for keeping his calm after a female driver pulled over for allegedly using her cell phone while driving went into a racist rant against Mexicans.
She can't be racist because she's black and everyone knows blacks can't be racist.
"This Deputy exemplifies the core values of our Department, his demeanor during this traffic stop is just an example of professionalism and patience our @LASDHQ Deputies have," Villanueva tweeted.
The black bitch who castigated the cop for no reason is known to the departments internal affairs group as a frequent flyer pain in the fucking ass. She needs to lose her tenured teaching gig. Fucking piece of shit.

What the Republican Party Needs vs. What It Wants

Texas 6th Congressional District candidate Michael Wood (Campaign ad image via YouTube)A failed congressional candidate in Texas told Republicans truths they needed to hear, but didn’t want to.

Mike Wood has done harder things than running for the House of Representatives, and some of those hard things he did in Afghanistan, where he won two Purple Hearts and a Navy Commendation Medal — which made it especially irritating for him to listen to fellow Republicans describe him as a “traitor” during his recent campaign in Texas’s 6th District. Wood has a direct, unadorned way of communicating (one section of his campaign bio begins, “After getting shot . . .”), a refreshingly stoic style in our age of hysterical politics. Emotionally incontinent displays are not his thing, but there is some tension in his voice when he sets that scene.
The bone spurs traitor is a sucker and a loser, not decorated American heroes. Not one truther is a patriotic Americans. They and cultist.
Wood is one of a surprisingly large number of conservatives who opposed Trump in 2016 but supported him — voted for him, anyway, with whatever other qualifications or hesitation — in 2020. But he also has been plainspoken about the Trump movement, which he accurately describes as a “cult of personality” in thrall to loopy conspiracy theories. It was Trump’s post-election performance leading up to the events of January 6 that most troubles Wood, who calls Trump’s conduct “disqualifying.”
Some very wise political insiders in Texas advised Wood to tamp down the anti-Trump rhetoric, on the theory that while the GOP may be — may be — ready for post-Trump leadership, it is not ready for anti-Trump leadership. And those voices of caution probably were right as a matter of pure political calculation — Wood came in fifth among Republicans and ninth overall in the 23-candidate, bipartisan goat-rodeo of an election — but there is more to life, and more to political life, than calculation.
“I want to serve in elected office,” he says, “but I don’t want to go to Congress if that means I have to act like Madison Cawthorn or Lindsey Graham. If the cost of entry into Republican politics is that you have to pretend to buy into lies, then I don’t want to do that.”
Wood’s anti-Trump stance won him national media attention and the endorsement of the Dallas Morning News, but it did not win him a lot of support in the Republican rank-and-file. After the election, noted QAnon kook Marjorie Taylor Greene ridiculed Wood and Representative Adam Kinzinger, one of his political allies. The nice lady who thinks that California wildfires are caused by Jewish space lasers wrote that Wood and his backers are “clueless about what Republican voters think and feel” and that what Republicans demand is “America First and loyalty to Trump.” And, as strange as it is to write, the nice lady who thinks that California wildfires are caused by Jewish space lasers is almost correct: Wood is far from “clueless” about the Republican demand for “loyalty to Trump” — he is keenly aware of what Republican voters think and feel, but he believes that these thoughts and feelings are grounded in falsehood and paranoia that ultimately will destroy the Republican Party and do great damage to the country itself. And, to the detriment of his electoral prospects, he says so.
The race in the 6th will be resolved in a runoff, and the candidate expected to win is a Trump-endorsed member of the State Republican Executive Committee (Drain that swamp!) whose main claim to the seat is that she is the widow of the man who most recently held it.
So Roger says biden is following science by wearing a mask on a zoom call but not while visiting the carters in their 90s. I call bullshit.

What the Republican Party Needs vs. What It Wants.
By KEVIN D. WILLIAMSON
You will insult me and again say TDS but the fact is that you are fucking cultist and again I really hope that the Republicans can keep Trump on the golf course instead of running again, after he lost the White House and majority's in both houses.
I would welcome back Thecoldheartedtruth, instead to being insane.

One of William F. Buckley Jr.’s great escapades was his doomed 1965 campaign for mayor of New York City. He knew he wasn’t going to win. (“What is the first thing you will do if you win?” a reporter asked. “Demand a recount,” he answered, maybe the most famous bon mot in his extensive catalog.) But getting elected mayor wasn’t the point. There are those who can understand what the point was and those who can’t. The same is true of Mike Wood’s eight weeks as a politician. Let him with eyes see.
It is not clear to me that such a man as Mike Wood has a future in the Republican Party. If he doesn’t, then that is going to be a lot less of a problem for him than it is for the GOP.
I'm a registered independent alky.
Gave the GOP the finger MONTHS ago.
I want nothing to do with a party that would count shitstains like Liz Cheney or this Mike Wood guy among it's ranks.
What's fucking WRONG with the GOP is that they're democrat-lite; valets for Peloshee and Schemer. And i can just see Mike Wood dining on large bowls of Peloshee and Schemer's shit every fucking day.
"Thank you sir; may I have another?"
The GOP is dead to me alky.
May it die in a fire.
It is not clear to me that such a man as Mike Wood has a future in the Republican Party.
But he's poised to have a long and storied career in the democrat party. He just needs to find a seat like Biden's that he can win and keep for 50 fucking years.
DC always has a need for career parasites.

actually she was a white school teacher. She was obviously a California democrat who besides being racist said all cops are murderers and lied about the officer saying he said he was going to murder her. She also recorded the whole event herself, she should release that.
We'll see who is lying
And who is the racist.
Does he not understand there aren’t cameramen on a zoom call?
I mean I’m doing them damn near daily and I don’t have a camera person or makeup artist, geez

I was going to say TDS but alky swears that is not so therefore, assuming he is telling the truth, it must just be dementia.
He is sounding a lot like Joe.
Anyone else who might be in the room with the president are not sitti,g on top of him and are long since vaccinated dumb fuck. And I do zooms daily.
The National Review is not included in the cultist culture movement.
Many years ago I watched William F. Buckley Jr and in 1980 I voted for Reagan. I pretty much left the Republican party because he went after the air traffic control union. Despite that he got the middle class white voters to vote against the less racist Democrats and, I hope that President Biden will reverse that with the infrastructure and power system converting to renewable, non carbon emissions from coal. Putting hundreds of charging stations will employ hundreds of
thousands of well trained union workers.
Hey Alky, Newt says I’m right, inflation devalues fiat money
Newt Gingrich: Beware Biden's hidden tax increase
Remember that inflation is a hidden tax
Every American is going to pay higher taxes due to the Biden administration’s policies.
Remember that inflation is a hidden tax. It is a powerful (and often unseen and unstoppable) way for a government to pay for its goods and services without raising visible taxes that make people angry.
The one time leader of the free world who now lives alone in a hotel sharing buffets, common areas, and staff with strangers, yearns for attention and relevance so badly, he now stands on a patio step every night ranting to tens of people about a 6 month old election that he lost is getting more demented every night. He is a 74 year old, obese man.
You forgot his mushroom penis alky.
LMAO.
THWAP!!!
actually she was a white school teacher.
My mistake rrb, I went back and re-watched (and read a bit more) and you can see she has black hands.
Makes it even worse in my eyes...
Apparently she is a professor at a college.
Probably making well over $100k a year while being suppressed by "the man" (average in LA county is $177,000 year )
https://www1.salary.com/CA/Los-Angeles/College-Professor-Salary.html
And dems want us to forgive college debt which is greatly jacked up by the exorbitant salaries of these racists.
You can bet she was at every BLM protest in her area.

She needs to be doxxed, with a couple hundred gallons of animal blood splattered all over the front of her house.
Then follow her and harass her everywhere she goes for about a year.
As 0linsky used to say - "Punch back twice as hard."
