The left continues to demand investigations of Trump....

To avert attention from what a bungled mess Biden is making of things and the legal issues he really should be facing...

At the very least the nearly three year obsession with the 2016 election was about Trump, who was in office. As dumb, pointless, and repetitive as it was to hold five different investigations into the election alone at least it was relevant to those who were running the country. Moreover the offshoot investigations into campaign fraud and other things were similarly pointless, but again at least they were about the man running the country.

However, when there was an attempt to investigate Hunter Biden, these same investigation happy people demanded that such a thing would be political. Not explaining the difference as to why it would be political to investigate the son of a potential Democratic candidate, but how it was not political to hold about two dozen different investigations into Trump himself, who btw still walks around unindicted for anything related to any of it.

The hypocrisy is staggering.

Now, as we have continued to uncover more evidence that Hunter Biden sold political influence and that his father was involved, we are hearing "crickets" from the investigation happy media. Instead they focus their attention on New York prosecutors going after Rudy Giuliani with the hopes of getting to Trump or more specifically the Trump organization.

Apparently after years of both the Trump Organization and Trump himself being audited by the IRS and the IRS not finding any crimes to speak of, the NY prosecutors must believe that they are some sort of Enron. As it is, there really isn't a manner to simply charge Donald Trump with Trump Organization crimes without also charging the accountants and executives responsible for whatever fraud or tax crimes they believe were committed.

To date, the only rumors we have heard is that the NY prosecutors would like to suggest that property values are either under  or overinflated based on need. Considering every appraisal is in a range and two different appraisals from two different appraisers on the same property can come back  with different values,  proving fraud is hard to do. It would have to start (obviously) with the people doing the appraising (not the President of the company).  The prosecutors would have to literally charge everyone from the appraiser, to accountants, to the executives and everyone in between before you can get to Trump himself (who you would have to prove was aware of both the activity and that it was illegal).

Seems like a lot of people would have to get hurt to get to Trump. Then again, we could ask all of the people like George Papadopoulos and General Flynn about how the authorities are willing to throw people under the bus in hopes a bagging the big one. Hurting people for sake of being involved with Donald Trump doesn't seem to make any of these crazies break a sweat.

Meanwhile, Hunter and Joe move along in their daily lives knowing that smoking gun email evidence suggesting that Hunter illegally sold his daddy's influence to foreign entities will never become a full fledged investigation as long as they run the Justice Department and as long as the media is more interested in distracting their followers with news about the former President.

CH MENTIONS THAT TRUMP, MUCH INVESTIGATED "still walks around unindicted for anything related to any of it."

Not to worry, then, Ch.

Trump will surely survive these last investigations as innocent and unscathed as he survived the others.

No possibility of him being indicted, so there's nothing for you to fear.

This is a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in American history. It began the day I came down the escalator in Trump Tower, and it’s never stopped. They wasted two years and $48 million in taxpayer dollars on Mueller and Russia Russia Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and it continues to this day, with illegally leaked confidential information.

No other President in history has had to put up with what I have had to, and on top of all that, I have done a great job for our Country, whether it’s taxes, regulations, our Military, Veterans, Space Force, our Borders, speedy creation of a great vaccine (said to be a miracle!), and protecting the Second Amendment.

This is purely political, and an affront to the almost 75 million voters who supported me in the Presidential Election, and it’s being driven by highly partisan Democrat prosecutors.

New York City and State are suffering the highest crime rates in their history, and instead of going after murderers, drug dealers, human traffickers, and others, they come after Donald Trump.

Interesting that today a poll came out indicating I’m far in the lead for the Republican Presidential Primary and the General Election in 2024.

Our Country is broken, our elections are rigged, corrupt, and stolen, our prosecutors are politicized, and I will just have to keep on fighting like I have been for the last five years!

Republicans Say Biden Would Accept $1 Trillion Plan
May 26, 2021 at 10:27 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 11 Comments

CNN:
“Two key GOP negotiators — Sens. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and Roger Wicker of Mississippi — both indicated on Tuesday that Biden has signaled openness to that price tag, a reason why they plan to make a counteroffer around that amount on Thursday, even as there are still sharp disagreements on how to pay for the massive proposal.

“The upcoming Senate GOP offer is a sign that negotiations with the White House aren’t over yet even as talks are teetering on the edge ahead of a Memorial Day deadline.”

That may be Biden's last offer.
Better go for it.

Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg  has already been deposed. Every single penny went through his desk.

If the investigators negotiate a deal with him, he could be the final nail in his coffin.

Several Trump Organization officials — including Eric Trump , the former president's son, and Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg — have already been deposed.

The new grand jury will likely review information when it gathers for three days a week for six months. Among the evidence it will review is eight years’ worth of Trump’s tax returns.

Grand juries are typically charged with studying evidence to determine if there is probable cause to accuse a person or entity of a crime. They also have the power to issue subpoenas for documents and testimony, serving as possible tools for prosecutors.

Trump has long sought to cast investigations against him as politically motivated. His administration was dogged by former special counsel Robert Mueller ’s investigation into Russia's election meddling, and Democrats fought with the White House for all four years of Trump’s tenure in an attempt to obtain his tax returns.

The former president is also mulling making a comeback bid in 2024, though observers have speculated that legal issues could hamper a third run for the White House.

They could subpoena Trump. Unless he complies he is put in jail until he agrees to testify.
Grand juries have a lot of horsepower!

Your justification for your own statement that people who favor choice for abortions should favor choice for vaccinations and those who favor government control for abortions should also favor government control for vaccinations.

You made the statement of how hypocritical it was for people to not be consistent with those two view points. Then went on about how you want to feel safe or something after already being vaccinated.

Chief Financial Officer Allen Weissenberg has already been deposed. Every single penny went through his desk.

So why hasn't he been indicted?

You certainly cannot indict the President of the company without first indicting the CFO who would be responsible for everything. Contrary to popular belief, investigators and prosecutors do not just give immunity to people who committed crimes. They get charged and then cut deals to turn on others.

So until you see people like Weissenberg being indicted, you are unlikely to see anything done about Trump.

As McCarthy has pointed out... this investigation has been going on for years and so far nobody has been indicted nor has any civil action been taken by any of the multiple entities investigating things. The recent news is simply that multiple investigations are being lumped into one. There really is no suggestion of anything else that would be "new" to this.

This is still about whether or not the Trump organization has deflated or inflated real estate values to commit bank, insurance, or tax fraud. Again, a very tricky thing to prove in court according to almost everyone associated with this sort of legal area.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

David Frum detailed Trump the Godfather Presidency in 1918.

Who and what Donald Trump is has been known to everyone and anyone who cared to know for years and decades. Before he was president, he was the country’s leading racist conspiracy theorist. Before he was the country’s leading racist conspiracy theorist, he was a celebrity gameshow host. Before he was a celebrity gameshow host, he was the multi-bankrupt least trusted name in real estate. Before he was the multi-bankrupt least trusted name in real estate, he was the protege of Roy Cohn’s repeatedly accused of ties to organized crime. From the start, Donald Trump was a man of many secrets, but no mysteries. Inscribed indelibly on the public record were the reasons for responsible people to do everything in their power to bar him from the presidency.

Instead, since he announced his candidacy in mid-2015, Donald Trump has been enabled and protected.

The enabling and protecting not only continues. It accelerates. and continues by you.

Before the Saturday morning tweets, what should have been the biggest story of the week was Trump’s success at mobilizing the Senate and the FBI to deploy criminal prosecution as a weapon against Trump critics. The Senate Judiciary committee—the Senate Judiciary Committee! The committee that oversees the proper enforcement of the law!—formally filed a criminal referral with the Department of Justice against Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous dossier about Trump’s Russia connections. The referral was signed by the committee’s chairman, Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, without even notice to Democrats on the committee, Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein said; a startling abuse of majority status and a sharp departure from the norms of the Senate, especially a 51-49 Senate.

The Department of Justice can ignore such a referral. It’s ominous, however, that on the very same day, the FBI obeyed Trump’s repeated demands and reopened a long-closed criminal investigation into the Clinton Foundation. The FBI has come under relentless abuse from Trump, who complains about its refusal to do his will. Is it now yielding?

We also learned this week from The New York Times that aides to the attorney general sought damaging information on Capitol Hill about FBI Director Comey, indicating close cooperation between the White House and Main Justice to exert political control over the country’s chief law-enforcement agency.

In 2016, there were voters who genuinely, in good faith, believed that Donald Trump was a capable business leader, moderate on social issues, who cared about the troubles of working class white America—and would do something to help. There may well still be some people who believe this—but nowhere near enough to sustain a presidency.

What sustains Trump now is the support of people who know what he is, but back him anyway. Republican political elites who know him for what he is, but who back him because they believe they can control and use him; conservative-media elites who sense what he is, but who delight in the culture wars he provokes; rank-and-file conservatives who care more about their grievances and hatreds than the governance of the country.

However crazy Trump may be, in one way he is indeed the “very stable genius” he claims to be: Trump understands how to mobilize hatred and resentment to his own advantage and profit. He has risen higher than Joe McCarthy or Charles Lindbergh or Theodore Bilbo—and he has lasted already nearly a full year in office, holding the approval of one-third of the country, more than sufficient to keep him there for a full term.

Those are the people who put Trump where he is, and keep him there, corrupting the institutions of American democracy and troubling the peace and security of the world.

You are an enabler of the most dangerous President in history.

He used the DOJ for his personal purposes.

Sleepy Joe is not doing the same thing

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Scott, you know that a grand jury investigation takes time. It could take six months until it issues any indictments and again if he has information that we have not yet seen!:

Weissenberg, like Bill Barr did during the campaign, he decided that he didn't want to be seen as a corrupt person, and shame himself in history. He will turn on Trump and we will see

The Republican Governors Association on Tuesday threw out Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and a top Trump ally, after he showed up to its spring conference in Tennessee, he told POLITICO in an interview.

Lindell said he had flown to Nashville on Monday to attend the three-day meeting starting on Tuesday, but that only a few minutes after he collected his credential at the JW Marriott Hotel, an event coordinator in the lobby told him he was not allowed at any of the official RGA events.

LMAO

C.H. Truth said...

Scott, you know that a grand jury investigation takes time.

How long? These investigations have been going on for years. Literally years, Roger. How long would you "really" expect it to take to figure out if crimes have been committed?

McCarthy just provided a lucid sane article to explain why the NYT and other media outlets are overhyping the latest "events" in the Trump Organization investigation.

Lastly... if there really is a criminal operation going in within the heart of the Trump Organization regarding the exceptionally nefarious and ever-dangerous to the fabric of society overvaluing and undervaluing of real estate holdings.

Then guess what. That CFO is at the heart of it and will go to jail for a very very long time. He doesn't just get to decide that he doesn't want to be seen as a corrupt person and get to go free if he just "turns over" Donald Trump... assuming a CFO can actually just push the blame off on what is by all practical purposes a "figure head" of the company at this point. After all, how hands on could he have been over the past five years or so given he was actually running for President and then actually being President.

They will have to nail the CFO to the wall (assuming they have a real case). At that point, they might be able to get to Trump. Maybe.

C.H. Truth said...

Oh and Roger...

These investigations are not being done by the DOJ. So they are neither under the thumb of Trump or Biden. These are NY State prosecutors who have been fiddling with this for years, even before Trump was President.

They have been working outside of any federal control for some time.

Lastly... keep in mind that you just don't get to indict someone for being the President of a company unless you can directly link him within the chain of decision making that go down to the granule level of individual real estate appraisals.

Grand Jury Convened In Trump Criminal Probe
5:16 pm EDT

“Manhattan’s district attorney has convened the grand jury that is expected to decide whether to indict former president Donald Trump, other executives at his company or the business itself should prosecutors present the panel with criminal charges,”
the Washington Post reports.

“The panel was convened recently and will sit three days a week for six months. It is likely to hear several matters — not just the Trump case — during the duration of its term, which is longer than a traditional New York state grand-jury assignment… Generally, special grand juries such as this one are convened to participate in long-term matters rather than to hear evidence of crimes charged routinely.

“The move indicates that District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.’s investigation of the former president and his business has reached an advanced stage after more than two years. It suggests, too, that Vance believes he has found evidence of a crime — if not by Trump then by someone potentially close to him or by his company.”

C.H. Truth said...

Well Reverend...

Time will tell if there is a new Grand Jury being seated to "indict" Trump or if this is just another semantic matter of media speculation.

Perhaps McCarthy and other legal experts will change their tune and decide to start to write about how likely it is that Trump is going to be charged.

When or if that happens, then I will start to believe. But at this point we have another WaPo story being repeated on liberal websites. However, the DA Vance has refused to confirm that story and pretty much nobody in his office is willing to comment or confirm it.

So color me skeptical. Again! This would potentially be about the 101st story about Trump's demise that turned out to be untrue. On the flip side it would be the first in history to actually be true.

C.H. Truth said...

Just to put things in perspective...

Just a few weeks ago, the investigation was supposedly still lacking any actual witnesses to actually testify about any of these financial dealings. The CFO was thought to be unwilling or possibly unable to help. There is little indication that anyone with the last name of Trump would be interested in talking.

These were the stories circulating around the internet just a few weeks ago. Seems unlikely that anyone has "flipped" as they say (other than Michael Cohen and he "flipped" a long time ago).

The explanation suggests that without witnesses, it is literally impossible to prove what you need to prove in these situations (which is intent and knowledge to break a law).

Again.. color me skeptical. But when I hear the legal community take this seriously (rather than just hearing some Trump is going down stories from the usual suspects) then I will take notice.
