The sad reality of Jan 6th

Regime vs. Regime
In the Washington Post, the Justice Department explained why the words of its indictments of those it claims trespassed on the Capitol will not result in the severe prison sentences they imply. Those words try to fit acts prima facie of mostly peaceful protest into the Democratic Party’s and associated oligarchy’s narrative of “armed insurrection against our democracy.” But in the Post story these “legal experts” mention regretfully that, their best efforts notwithstanding, what remains of the U.S. legal system cannot wholly erase the fact that “trespassing is still only trespassing, even in the U.S. Capitol,” and that “a misdemeanor is still only a misdemeanor.” Drat, still!
Nevertheless, these prosecutors and friendly experts fill most of the article with how they combine unlimited pretrial detention under harsh circumstances and limitation of legal assistance to press the accused to accept maximum penalties and to forgo bringing cases to juries.

An armed insurrection needs a few of important things to be an armed insurrection. First and foremost it needs the people within the insurrection to be armed. Secondly, it requires that the people involved have an active plan to rebel against the Government for a very specific political purpose of defiance and possible overthrow. Lastly, insurgencies are generally a long-term revolt with long term plans that are accomplishing a particular political goal.

A few hundred people breaking off from a peaceful rally and storming a Government building does not an insurrection, an insurgence, a political revote, or a violent coup make. We have seen people breaking off from peaceful rallies/protests to challenge police authority or to attack a government building more times than we can count over the past two years and none of them are insurrection or insurgencies.

So to be clear. The people who stormed the capital building were not armed. It cannot be an armed insurrection without arms. These people were not organized and there was no central plan in place that can be found. There is no insurrection without a plan. There has been no conspiracy or insurgency group actively following up on the events of Jan 6th. No long term plans. No actual group that can be identified as the insurgents or any leadership of any sort.

On the flip side, BLM/Antifa attacking police or other Government buildings have been armed. They have been organized and planned. Generally on Facebook or Twitter. They continue to exist as a group and continue to plan attacks. The same people participate over and over and over for their so called "cause". There is even known leadership. Yet nobody demands that these riots should be labeled as an insurrection or that BLM/Antifa is an insurgency.

But here is the logical rub.

Those who want to claim that Jan 6th was an armed insurrection use the term as if it is describing a bunch of people looking to overthrown the Government. But when you break it down to the semantics,  they will tell you that any "rise up against authority" is an insurrection. However, when pressed they will still try to argue that such a definition does not apply to BLM or Antifa riots without really offering a reason why other than the argument that they personally do not agree with the anger associated with Jan 6th, but that they agree with the anger associated with BLM/Antifa.

Here is a little check box for you - which Group:

  • Is a known group with organization and leadership
  • Has a known set of propaganda or goals
  • Has had multiple preplanned events
  • Has been armed
  • Has the same people joining multiple riots or protests
Which ever group fits these criteria is more likely to be considered an actual insurgency responsible for any insurrections.

I didn't know there were Palestinians in NYC. I thought they were in Israel.

They're pro-palestinian arabs that we were stupid enough to let into this country. They're beating Jews in the streets in broad daylight, lobbing explosives at them, spitting on them in outdoor cafe's, and driving around in caravans threatening them.

THIS is Biden's* America. With all that "unity."

Go fuck yourself pederast, you fucking child-raping piece of shit.

Looks like the pastor is lying again

I saw they were burning Israeli flags yesterday, wouldn't be surprised that a reporter saw that being directed at a Jewish man. And as rrb posted all kinds of violence has been documented all over the country.

But stick to your smug self-righteousness

And has Joe denounced this and his democrat congresswomen yet ?

We as a city condemn last night's organized, anti-Semitic attack.

Jewish Angelenos, like all residents, should always feel safe in our city.

@LAPDHQ is investigating this assault as a hate crime, and we will respond with the full force of the law.

L.A. is a city of belonging, not of hate.

There is simply no place for anti-Semitism, discrimination, or prejudice of any kind in Los Angeles. And we will never tolerate bigotry and violence in our communities.

Well the democrat mayor of Los Angeles recognizes what is happening has spoken up

Just not Joe and Kamala

Waseem Awawdeh, 23 years old, is accused of attacking the 29-year-old Jewish man on Thursday night on Broadway near West 49th Street as protesters made their way through Times Square and clashed with pro-Israeli counterdemonstrators and police, the officials said.

The suspect was among a group of five or six people who made anti-Semitic comments while punching, kicking and pepper spraying the victim, the officials said. The group also beat the victim with a crutch, according to the officials. The victim was hospitalized and was in stable condition, according to the police officials.

Waseem Awawdeh is an Muslim man

Remarks by President Biden at Signing of the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act

MAY 20, 2021 • SPEECHES AND REMARKS

East Room

2:33 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT:  (Applause.)  Thank you.  Thank you.  Please, thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

Susan, progress is possible.  We’re moving.

Good afternoon, everyone.  As I said from the beginning of my campaign, Madam Speaker, that the campaign for President –throughout, you would call me and tell me, “Keep it up” — was about bringing people together, about uniting the country.  We need to u- — reunite — we need to unite as one people, one nation, one America.  And that was the thing I was most often criticized about — saying, “How can you unite the country?”  We must unite the county.

I said it in my kickoff speech in Philadelphia.  I said it when I spoke at Gettysburg.  And I emphasized it in my Inaugural Address.  A lot of people — press, to elected officials — were somewhat skeptical that could be done.  It’s just beginning, but I am confident we can do this and so much more.  And I believe, with every fiber of my being, that there are simple core values and beliefs that should bring us together as America — as Americans.

One of them is standing together against hate, against racism — the ugly poison that has long haunted and plagued our nation.

Today, I can say that because of all of you — many of you sitting right in front of me — you’ve taken that first step.  This important step.

I’d like to thank the Congress and the members who are here today, Democrats and Republicans, who came together to get the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act on my desk.  Well, on a desk I’m about to sign on.  (Laughter.)

But I want to thank the Majority Leader Schumer and I want to thank Speaker Pelosi for your leadership.

I also want to thank our — the Leader from the state of Kentucky for letting it go forward.  It’s important.  It’s important.

And I'm not being self righteous, but all I could find was a video of a Jewish man who was, sadly, beaten and maced, and made the comment that his face felt like it was on fire for a while after that.

But that's a lot different from being set on fire.

Why would anyone want to lie like that? What purpose does lying like that serve except to enflame even greater hatred?

Republicans have been hypnotized.

“Republicans have believed unbelievable things about the election and its aftermath for more than half a year now… The majority who have false thoughts about January 6 is similar to the percentage of Republicans who believe, falsely, that President Joe Biden didn’t legitimately earn enough votes to beat Trump in the election.”

“These statistics being so similar makes a lot of sense. When you believe something ridiculous, it’s not the toughest jump to believe something else ridiculous on the same topic.”

“Moreover, if you are wrongly of the belief that the election was somehow stolen, you might too be OK with a riot to protest those results.”

“We shouldn’t lose sight of how crazily high these stats are. They’re not normal, even in our deeply partisan age.

People like F'n Daddy have no other purpose than lying like that serve except to enflame even greater hatred!

It was used by the fascist regime in Germany to put six million Jews to death.

The current president party has become an authoritarian party today.

Cheney and Bass are being called cowards for standing up against the Big Lie.

The one thing I do not do on this blog is this:
I do not lie.

When shortly before 9:14AM I went to the link you provided I found only what I reported, a tweet listed as being made "fourteen hours ago followed by no comments."

When I go there now, I find something very different: Nothing about 14 hours ago, and multiple comments.

THIS is not a lie. (Why would I make up "14 hours ago?)
But even if it were a lie, which it is not, it
would not be as big a lie as the claim that a Jewish man was burned in NYC, for which you STILL have given no proof or evidence.
