The new argument from CRT backers is to confuse the meaning?

Pretty much all arguments surrounding CRT now include the CRT advocate arguing that whatever it is that the CRT opposition states is a problem, is not really CRT. Advocates seemed to have given up trying to make the arguments that they had been making, and instead are just suggesting that they never actually made those arguments in the first place.

  • Opposition suggest that we shouln't single children out by race. The advocate demands that CRT does not include that..
  • Opposition suggests that we shouldn't teach White kids that they are racist by nature. The advocate demands that CRT does not include that..
  • Opposition suggests that we shouldn't teach structural racism. The advocate demands that CRT does not include that..
  • Opposition suggests that we shouldn't be teaching that American society is built on racism. The advocate demands that CRT does not include that..
Yet, if you attempt to pass a law that bans teachers from singling anyone out regarding their race, or bans the teaching that White people are races, or bans the teaching of structural racism, or bans the teaching that our society is built on racism, ironically the same CRT advocates have a heart attack. Seems like they want to win this argument on sleight of hand. Obviously that is no way to win an argument.

In spite of the CRT being jammed down the throats of Americans all over the place (social media, work place, school, media, Politicians) the fact is that Americans still don't like it. Accordign to a Harvard - Harris Poll (not exactly a right wing pollster) Americans are against teaching the basic concept of systemic racism and that we are a white supremacist nation by 22%.  I would venture that every last one of those 61% who oppose it, has had to deal with it from someone or from some situation within the past six months.

Much like the big election lie, the bully pulpit of Social Media, academia, big business, media and the Democratic Party has failed to convince the general public of one of their biggest pushes in recent history. They simply are unable to "indoctrate" more than the 35-40 percent of the population who are prone to pretty much any incoctrination. These are the "sheep" who will obey the influencers and to follow whatever it is they are told to follow. These are the lock step brown shirts who would have fit right in with Nazi Germany.

Scott, I doesn't believe that if we teach our children about our dark past and how we went forward to the current era, is not going to make your children hate you or want a communist government.

You're argument is exactly the opposite of Thecoldheartedtruth about America and how we have become a better, imperfect, but better place where people of color and religions and sexual orientation.

The anti CRT is a plan to take us backwards to the Jim Crow era.

People can look at all sides and again be liberal or conservative, based upon their education.

You support the same philosophy of both right and left authoritarian philosophy has gained power in democratic states.

You believe that education is indoctrination.

You don't have the ability to be objective when confronted with information that makes you feel that they have a point that makes sense.

A significant percentage of people have come to conclusions on both sides.

You want to get rid of CRT so you can indoctrinate the next generation, to support an authoritarian government.

The Republicans have chosen to believe the big lie, and are trying to reduce turnout in the future elections, so the minority party remains in control.

You fear education.

Sorry Roger...

A majority of Americans do not want "systemic racism" taught to our kids and do not want some concept of America being a nation of "white supremacy" being taught.

The fact that you are part of the "MINORITY" that want a new generation of Americans tautht that America is a White Supremacist nation built on systemic racism is your problem.

I believe that we should be taught the same history that you and I were taught, which included discussions about slavery, past racism, civil rights movements, and everything else factual.

I just do not (and a majority of Americans are with me) believe that our Teachers should push social justice "theories" about what that means in today's society.

I have stated multiple times. Want to teach CRT. Then first define what it is (once and for all) and then have it taught as an open social studies philosophy class where the theory can be taught, debated, and ultimately each student can decide for themselves what to believe. Just like we do with any "theory".

CRT advocates who want to "indoctrate" the teachings into other class subjects and then scold and punish those who disagree are simply on the wrong side of this.

The CRT will not make children bully or assault other children. I suspect that you were a bully in grade school.

From the time my son was very young, and first being socialized with other kids, his circle of friends was an amalgamation of every race, color and creed imaginable. In fact, the majority of his friends were black, and that remained through high school, college, and to the present day. Of course, CRT wasn't a thing then, and like many of the other liberal orthodoxies he managed to stay one step ahead of the bullshit, at least until now.

CRT is NOT the teaching of history, but the teaching of hatred and division. It's hatred that is LEARNED, indoctrinated even. And shitstains like Henry X. Rogers and Robin DiAngelo are only in it for the grift $$$.

In today's modern society there's nothing worse than being branded a racist, and the left has weaponized that theory through the "teaching" of CRT.

Clever to some, and transparent to most.

It's evil, it's disgusting, and it's a completely false narrative. And that's why it's embraced by the left.

I give you credit, because at least you actually aren't a hater like rrb etc.

Yep.

That's right alky. I'm such a 'hater' I hosted one of my son's oldest and dearest friends for dinner at my house a couple weeks ago.

The young is black. And he brought his white girlfriend. They will probably marry, and if they do I will definitely be invited.

The young man is a product of a single parent household. His mom worked multiple jobs and never took one dime of public assistance. She's too smart, too strong, and too proud to become a ward of the state. When this kid had graduated from college and was out looking for his first real job he needed a proper business suit to wear to job interviews. He couldn't afford one and neither could his mom. I proudly gave him two, and took him to a tailor so they could be properly fitted.

Today he is an accomplished middle manager in a bio-sciences corporation. Other than my own son I can't think of another young person I'm more proud of. And he greets me with a bear hug every time I see him.

So that's how much of a racist hater I am alky. And CRT was devised to remove people like me from polite society.

How Michael Flynn Nurtured QAnon

June 27, 2021 at 12:06 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 49 Comments
Former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn nurtured and then profited from the QAnon conspiracy theorists, the Intercept reports.

“Most media outlets treated Flynn’s videotaped oath last summer, in which he uttered a well-known QAnon slogan, as a sort of coming-out story about a onetime Trump insider who had gone off the rails. The video has since become the subject of a lawsuit by members of Flynn’s family who claim that ‘left-wing media outlets began to spread false narratives’ about the Flynn family’s connections to QAnon. An Intercept investigation has found that Flynn’s ties to the QAnon phenomenon stretch back much further than the July 4 weekend last year when the video first appeared, however, to the days immediately following Trump’s 2016 election victory.”

McConnell Urged Bill Barr to Speak Out on Election
June 27, 2021 at 11:20 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 32 Comments
From Jonathan Karl’s new book, Betrayal, excerpted in The Atlantic:
“Barr told me that Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnel had been urging him to speak out since mid-November. Publicly, McConnell had said nothing to criticize Trump’s allegations, but he told Barr that Trump’s claims were damaging to the country and to the Republican Party. Trump’s refusal to concede was complicating McConnell’s efforts to ensure that the GOP won the two runoff elections in Georgia scheduled for January 5.

YUP!

“Republicans needed to make the argument that with Biden soon to be in the White House, it was crucial that they have a majority in the Senate to check his power. But McConnell also believed that if he openly declared Biden the winner, Trump would be enraged and likely act to sabotage the Republican Senate campaigns in Georgia. Barr related his conversations with McConnell to me. McConnell confirms the account."

NOW THAT THE GOP IS DEFUNDING THE POLICE,
Democrats Shift Rhetoric on Police

June 27, 2021 at 12:01 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 50 Comments
Washington Post:
“Thirteen months after the police killing of George Floyd sparked an impassioned movement in the Democratic Party to rein in police departments, a surge in homicides has prompted a shift in the opposite direction. Democrats are scrambling to make new investments in policing and seeking to project toughness on crime, even as they continue pushing for police reforms and alternative means of deterring crime.

“Now in control of the White House, Congress and most big cities, Democrats have struggled to contain the deadly violence this year, which is expected to worsen as the summer progresses. They are facing a barrage of criticism from Republicans, who are portraying Democrats as soft on crime as part of a coordinated strategy for next year’s midterm elections.

“These trends have alarmed Democrats at all levels — from the White House, where Biden recently delivered his first major speech on fighting crime; to voters, who are rallying behind crime-focused candidates in early primaries; to U.S. House members who are bluntly warning liberal colleagues to tone down their attacks on law enforcement.”

Biden’s Push for Equity Hits Roadblocks
June 27, 2021 at 11:19 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 3 Comments
New York Times: “No part of Mr. Biden’s agenda has been as ambitious as his attempt to embrace racial considerations when making decisions. It pushes against limits set by the Supreme Court, which say programs based on race must be ‘narrowly tailored’ to accomplish a ‘compelling governmental interest.’ And it ignites passions at a time when Democrats hold the narrowest majority in Congress and the country is already seething with disagreements about race, power and fairness.

“The challenges to Mr. Biden’s proposals have so far halted only a small fraction of his broader equity agenda, which has already ensured that billions of dollars in government spending have reached African Americans and poor women… Administration officials say the court rulings and political opposition are merely speed bumps that will do little to block progress. And they say Mr. Biden will continue to fight for parts of his legislative agenda that are not in a compromise bill.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that the infrastructure bill may get passed by the majority vote in the Senate.

WASHINGTON—The White House and Senate negotiators sought to keep a bipartisan infrastructure deal on track Sunday after its future was cast into doubt when President Biden made and then withdrew a suggestion that he would veto the proposal if lawmakers failed to pass a separate antipoverty package favored by Democrats.

Several Senate Republicans who reached agreement with Democratic lawmakers and the president on infrastructure appeared mollified Sunday by Mr. Biden’s statement a day earlier walking back his comments tying the fate of the roughly $1 trillion infrastructure agreement to the larger piece of legislation that could cost trillions more.

“I am glad they have now been delinked and it’s very clear that we can move forward with a bipartisan bill,” said Sen. Rob Portman (R., Ohio), on ABC’s “This Week.” He added: “We were glad to see them disconnected.”

Said Sen. Mitt Romney (R., Utah) on CNN’s “State of the Union”: “I do trust the president.”

Biden made a mistake when he linked them, but he nullified some Republicans.

Biden Executive Order Mandates Divisive, Unscientific Race ‘Training’ At Every Level Of The Federal Government

President Joe Biden signed an executive order on Friday that ensures that every part of the federal government will conduct race-conscious diversity training and engage in race-conscious hiring.

The executive order “establishes an ambitious, whole-of-government initiative that will take a systematic approach to embedding DEIA [diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility] in Federal hiring and employment practices,” according to a White House fact sheet. In practice, it will ensure that federal agencies employ tenets associated with Critical Race Theory (CRT) within their hiring practices and day-to-day activities.

CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist, yet it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue “antiracism” through the end of merit, objective truth and the adoption of race-based policies.

From an upcoming book by Former Secretary of Justice Bill Barr.

After the lunch with Balsamo, Barr and Levi went to the White House for a previously scheduled meeting with Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. After talking briefly with Meadows, they went upstairs to White House Counsel Pat Cipollone’s office. As they were conferring, one of the counsel’s aides knocked on the door and told Cipollone that the president wanted to see him and then, pointing to Barr, the aide said, “And he is looking for you.”

Barr, Levi, and Cipollone walked to the president’s personal dining room near the Oval Office. Trump was sitting at the table. Meadows was sitting next to him with his arms crossed; the White House adviser Eric Herschmann stood off to the side. The details of this meeting were described to me by several people present. One told me that Trump had “the eyes and mannerism of a madman.”

He went off on Barr.

“I think you’ve noticed I haven’t been talking to you much,” Trump said to him. “I’ve been leaving you alone.”

Barr later told others that the comment was reminiscent of a line in the movie Dr. Strangelove, in which the main character, Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper, says, “I do not avoid women, Mandrake, but I do deny them my essence.” Trump, Barr thought, was saying that he had been denying him his essence.

Trump brought up Barr’s AP interview.

“Did you say that?”

“Yes,” Barr responded.

“How the fuck could you do this to me? Why did you say it?”

“Because it’s true.”

The president, livid, responded by referring to himself in the third person: “You must hate Trump. You must hate Trump.”

Read: How Trump could attempt a coup

Barr thought that the president was trying to control himself, but he seemed angrier than he had ever seen him. His face was red. Barr’s AP interview was dominating every cable news channel except the one Trump was watching. The television in the room was tuned to the right-wing, pro-Trump network One America News, which was broadcasting a committee hearing of the Michigan legislature. The hearing featured disproven allegations of massive election fraud, including the testimony of a woman named Melissa Carone, who had worked at the counting location in Detroit and told the committee, “Everything that happened at the TCF Center was fraud. Every single thing.” The next day, Carone would testify again, next to Rudy Giuliani, during which time she slurred her words and appeared to be drunk. (Carone later denied that she had been drunk.)

“They saw the boxes going in!” Trump yelled, referring to the stories about boxes of illegal ballots being counted.

Barr was a loyalist until the former President Trump tried to steal the election.

You believe that CRT will indoctrate your children to hate you for our difficult past failures, despite the fact that our country is a lot better than before.
It's easy to use your own words to prove your are wrong again.

You prove nothing, I proved we learn about slavery, racism, and civil rights without hatred.

We are talking about the future and CRT is an indoctrination of hate of a country with no irredeemable values to justify a Marxist socialist system.

At the core of CRT indoctrination is Marxism. It is no coincidence that the leading proponents of CRT are Marxist and Socialist.

Note: If you are about the same age as I am, you learned about the evils of Communism through your high school AVC course. (you wouldn't read about it on your own). CRT is about the pernicious lie that Americanism is evil and must be destroyed.

Capital Weather Gang
Portland and Seattle shatter records amid historic heat wave
Portland hit 108, an all-time mark, and Seattle 102, a record for June. Loads of new records are anticipated Sunday in the Pacific Northwest as it turns even hotter.

The most severe heat wave that the Pacific Northwest has ever endured is underway. Predicted to be “historic, dangerous, prolonged and unprecedented,” according to the National Weather Service, it’s already rewriting the record books.
On Saturday, Portland soared to its highest temperature in more than 80 years of record-keeping: 108 degrees. Seattle surged to 102 degrees, its highest temperature observed in June and second-highest in any month.

I prefer the personal attacks to the spam. At least there is some engagement in real debate and not the tedious copy and paste one can read on his own.

All you need is a short paragraph, a link and your opinion.

The big lie is dead.

Trump and his allies had been pushing a number of discredited claims, including one that voting machines were switching votes from Trump to Biden. (“We realized from the beginning it was just bulls***,” Barr told the Atlantic of the idea that voting machines were changing votes.)

In the Atlantic, Barr said then-Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had been encouraging him to speak out about the election. “Bill, I look around, and you are the only person who can do it,” McConnell reportedly told Barr.

Trump was apparently livid with Barr for his comments to the AP.

“How the f*** could you do this to me? Why did you say it?” Trump told Barr in a White House meeting, according to the Atlantic.

“Because it’s true,” Barr responded.

“You must hate Trump. You must hate Trump,” Trump continued.

In the tense White House meeting, Trump reportedly confronted Barr with a litany of complaints, ranging from falsehoods about the election results to how the Justice Department conducted itself during the campaign.

About two weeks later, Trump tweeted out Barr’s resignation letter, of which a substantial portion was dedicated to praising the president.

“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!” Trump tweeted. “As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family.”

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The United States said on Sunday it carried out another round of air strikes against Iran-backed militia in Iraq and Syria, this time in response to drone attacks by the militia against U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq.

In a statement, the U.S. military said it targeted operational and weapons storage facilities at two locations in Syria and one location in Iraq. It did not disclose whether it believed anyone was killed or injured.

The strikes came at the direction of President Joe Biden, the second time he has ordered retaliatory strikes against Iran-backed militia since taking office five months ago. Biden last ordered limited strikes against a target in Syria in February, that time in response to rocket attacks in Iraq.

"As demonstrated by this evening's strikes, President Biden has been clear that he will act to protect U.S. personnel," the Pentagon said in a statement.
