Young Frankenstein Trump! LMAO.

Mary Trump was exactly correct.

His ability to control unfavorable situations by lying, spinning, and obfuscating has diminished to the point of impotence in the midst of the tragedies we are currently facing. His egregious and arguably intentional mishandling of the current catastrophe has led to a level of pushback and scrutiny that he’s never experienced before, increasing his belligerence and need for petty revenge as he withholds vital funding, personal protective equipment, and ventilators that your tax dollars have paid for from states whose governors don’t kiss his ass sufficiently.

In the 1994 film based on Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein’s monster says, “I do know that for the sympathy of one living being, I would make peace with all. I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other.”

I know it's off topic but it was obvious before he lied his way into the White House

The Florida building.

It isn’t clear whether the problems that Mr. Morabito’s firm identified are linked to the catastrophic failure and collapse of the building at approximately 1:30 a.m. Thursday, which killed at least four and left another 159 missing, by recent public counts. Engineering experts have warned that it could take months or even more than a year to fully understand what brought the building down.

Because of my experience in construction, I suspect that the foundation of the building crumbled because water caused the concrete to deteriorate and because the foundation supports the entire building, It crumbled and the building collapsed

“The overarching ideology of Pentagon officials is larger military budgets and ongoing permanent war posture. Their new war target, explicitly, is domestic ‘white rage.’ . . . In other words, to justify the current domestic War on Terror that has already provoked billions more in military spending and intensified domestic surveillance, the Pentagon must ratify the narrative that those they are fighting in order to defend the homeland are white supremacist domestic terrorists. . . . The Pentagon’s prime targets, by their own statements, are sectors of the U.S. population that they regard as major threats to the national security of the United States.”

The goal is to tag all political opposition as racist terrorism. I’ll also note that this sort of stance — dividing the U.S. military from its traditional base of civilian support — is just what the Chinese would want in order to weaken it before a war.

In a 2018 report about the Champlain Towers South Condo in Surfside, an engineer flagged a “major error” dating back to the building’s origin where lack of proper drainage on the pool deck had caused “major structural damage,” according to records released late Friday night by town officials in the wake of the tower’s disastrous collapse on Thursday.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the issue was repaired or whether it could have ultimately contributed to the building’s partial collapse, which resulted in at least four deaths with over 150 people still unaccounted for.

The concern was laid out in an October 2018, “Structural Field Survey Report,” produced for the condo association by engineer Frank Morabito of Morabito Consultants. Morabito wrote that the “main issue” at Champlain Towers was that the pool deck and outdoor planters “laid on a flat structure” preventing water from draining. The lack of waterproofing was “a systemic issue” that traced back to a flaw “in the development of the original contract documents” 40 years ago, the report said.

The report documented how the years of standing water on the pool deck had severely damaged the concrete structural slabs below.

On January 20, 2017, when Donald Trump took the oath to the United States Constitution, the New York developer assumed the right to enlarge it as if he were merely adding another wing to a casino. Trump says he will be “reinstated” into the American presidency this August 1.

This refusal of the ex-president to accept that he is just that, an ex-president, reminds me of a time downright bucolic.

In 1960, John F. Kennedy won a perilously close election against Richard Nixon. Many on the Republican side were questioning the results, especially in Illinois and Texas. (Even JFK himself would casually refer to his running mate Lyndon Johnson as “Landslide” in reference to the shenanigans that got him elected senator from Texas in the first place.) For Kennedy, even Nixon’s silence in the hours after the November balloting was a problem. The Massachusetts politician knew that only the loser could declare the last hurrah and make clear to his supporters that the other guy had won.

To his credit, Nixon, the sitting Vice President, did just that. When Kennedy called him the following Saturday and asked to meet, he leapt at the offer. Knowing it would seal the victory, Nixon agreed to host his triumphant rival in Florida for a friendly get-together. That Monday, at the Key Biscayne Hotel, with the photographers and TV cameramen looking on, Nixon played the good sport, chatting away with Kennedy over bottles of Coke.

This willingness of a defeated candidate to perform the part, no matter his or her feelings, is an unwritten part of the American constitution and it has been seen as a grim necessity. For the candidate hoping to someday get another chance, a gracious statement of defeat is seen as a sign of good faith in the electoral process itself. Part of what tarnished Nixon’s reputation well before Watergate was his churlish behavior after losing the 1962 California governorship when he told the press in self-pity, “you won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore.”

For years I simply accepted the “concession speech”—whether Nixon’s or Jimmy Carter’s, for whom I worked—as an honorable, if emotional, election night ritual. I would warm to the moment the loser appeared before the cameras to comfort his supporters, admit defeat, and wish the winner well and promise to promote their cause. Call me a political romantic, but I felt it was one time in our too-long campaigns when a candidate would show his or her true soul. John McCain’s concession was particularly noble, noting the importance to the country’s evolution that it had elected a Black man. That his staff prevented Sarah Palin from giving a vice-presidential concession was also a welcome note. Al Gore was remarkably eloquent in taking to the microphones after he lost the Supreme Court’s Bush v. Gore case.

Now, having watched Donald Trump’s treachery these last months, I know that concessions are about more than protocol, magnanimity, or even seemliness. The country’s unity is at stake. By his refusal to accept the electoral fact of 2020, that Joe Biden won and he lost, Trump has taught me that admission of defeat is a necessary element in our democracy. Failure by a candidate to admit its results can render an election enduringly suspect.

This is Donald Trump’s game, of course.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Where Hillary Clinton (2016) had the moral strength to concede defeat, he has rallied his voters by claiming he won. (We should have realized that this was in the offing when he claimed insanely in 2016 that he had won the popular vote and that the numerical tally had been sullied by illegal immigrants.) He then used his refusal to accept the otherwise obvious 2020 results as a gambit to keep the country at its own throat. Two-thirds of the Republican Party continue to believe Trump’s claim of victory in the 2020 election.

This belief the election was rigged has also ignited insurrection. We saw the mob who responded to his call to prevent Congress from certifying the vote of the Electoral College. Like-minded general Michael Flynn even suggested there should be a military coup against the elected government.

More trouble may be brewing ahead. A poll shows three in ten Republicans currently accept Trump’s vow that he will be “reinstated” as chief executive this summer.

What will happen when this nonsensical event fails to occur? All of this is because a losing candidate refused to tell his people the hard truth that the other candidate received more votes, 7 million more in the popular vote, the same number in the electoral college that he, Donald Trump, had won with his victory in 2016,

As I said, I used to view concession speeches as part of the human drama of election nights, a moment where the defeated hopeful stands and displays his or her grace.

Adlai Stevenson may have done it best after losing to General Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1952. Recalling an Abraham Lincoln line, he said, “It hurts too much to laugh, but I’m too old to cry.”

Both Clinton and Gore won more popular votes than their opponent, Hillary Clinton, almost four million more. All managed to concede, as have others over the decades. Samuel Tilden managed to concede after a brutal contest with Rutherford B. Hayes that was settled by a congressional commission.

And yet, they did their duty to the US constitution, accepting the validity of the other candidate’s right to the office on which they themselves had set their heart.

No one but a losing presidential candidate can know the personal cost involved in such moments. It requires standing before your supporters to say you have failed them, standing before the country and admitting its verdict. Whatever else can be said of him, Richard Nixon accepted this duty in November 1960. As Ted Kennedy would say at the time of Nixon’s death, “Despite the intensity of the campaign and the narrow outcome, he accepted the results with grace and without rancor.”

That get-together of Kennedy and Nixon, it is well recorded, took place six days after their razor-edge election. We are now six months after Joe Biden’s inauguration and Donald Trump has yet to show either the grace or the patriotism to do the same.

He is the Benedict Arnold of the 21st century.

TIMBER !!!

One of the most common causes of foundation problems is a lack of supporting soil underneath. To restore stability, the weight of the foundation and the structure above must be transferred to stabile, load-bearing soil or bedrock. MDH Foundation Repair does this by employing a systems of long, sturdy steel supports called “piers.”

Some contractors will recommend old piering technology, like concrete piers
. Concrete piers are blunt and wide, so pushing them into the ground is very difficult. Additionally, there’s nothing guiding concrete piers into the ground, itself, so they’re often installed crooked. Lastly, concrete isn’t nearly as strong as steel and will crumble over time. The drawbacks of using concrete piers far outweigh the initial material savings versus steel piers, and may even cost more to account for additional labor charges.

https://mdhfoundationrepair.com/foundation-repair/pier-systems/

sounds like piers have changed since the days of the 12 volume encyclopedia

btw lots of articles about skyscrapers needing to have piers...

The Department of Defense is a Democratic hoax

Pjmedia reached out to the DOD on Thursday, and a spokesperson confirmed that the Department had not put out any guidance defining extremism. However, various training materials used for the military-wide “stand down” to combat “extremism” follow the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) playbook for demonizing conservatives through the biased application of terms like “discrimination.”

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) shared the reports of whistleblowers who said the DOD pushed “anti-racist” and Marxist critical race theory (CRT) materials in trainings to combat “extremism.” One whistleblower said his or her unit was forced to read White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo. One Army officer said his general officer told him “that the entire U.S. Army is racist.” Earlier this week, Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, defended teaching CRT in the military and repeated CRT propaganda against the Constitution.

This context suggests that the DOD may hesitate to define “extremism” because its likely definition will involve demonizing conservative views. Indeed, on Wednesday morning, a communique sent to Army Recruiting Command — and first reported by PJ Media’s Stacey Lennox — presented a slanted definition of “extremism.” The DOD has not adopted this definition, but it seems the Army is using this definition to screen applicants.

The document laid out an illogical definition of extremism: “Extremism is defined as an individual that advocates for any of the following:

Hatred or intolerance on the basis of race, sex (including gender identity), sexual orientation, or ethnicity.Creating or engaging in discrimination based on race, color, sex (including gender identity), national origin, religion, or sexual orientation.Use of force or violence or unlawful means to deprive individuals of their rights to achieve political/religious/discriminatory goals.Support for terrorist or criminal organizations or objectives.Overthrow of the U.S. Government by force, violence, or sedition.Subversion (i.e., violations of law, disobedience to lawful orders or regulations).

It stands to reason that the U.S. military would define extremism to include advocacy for the “overthrow of the U.S. government by force, violence, or sedition,” and that aspect of the definition seems unassailable. Subversion may also count as extremism, so long as the definition does not exclude certain forms of civil disobedience that should fall under the First Amendment’s speech protections. Support for terrorist or criminal organizations also seems a reasonable aspect of an extremism definition.

Recommended: EXCLUSIVE: Army Finally Defines ‘Extremism’ When It Comes to Screening Out ‘Hate Group’ Members

The use of force or violent means to deprive people of their rights may also reasonably fit a definition of extremism. While Stacey Lennox was right to warn that about the Left applying rights language to abortion and other issues, opposition to abortion should involve reasoned debate, not violence.

However, the first two aspects of this Army definition should raise red flags for conservatives.

Conservatives do not support “Hatred or intolerance on the basis of race, sex (including gender identity), sexual orientation, or ethnicity,” but the Left often twists the definitions of “hate” on these hot-button issues. For example, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) routinely brands mainstream conservative and Christian organizations “hate groups” due to their opposition to the Left’s narrative and activism on LGBT issues, Islam, and immigration.

Biden Walks Back Threat on Infrastructure Deal
June 26, 2021 at 6:18 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 76 Comments

“President Biden walked back comments tying the fate of a roughly $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure agreement to a separate, Democratic effort to pass a broad antipoverty plan, recommitting to the bipartisan deal after Republicans threatened to withdraw their support,” the Wall Street Journal report.

Biden said that his earlier comments “created the impression that I was issuing a veto threat” on his proposal, “which was certainly not my intent.”

Said Biden: “The bottom line is this: I gave my word to support the Infrastructure Plan, and that’s what I intend to do. I intend to pursue the passage of that plan, which Democrats and Republicans agreed to on Thursday, with vigor.”

The court in Wisconsin is shoved a lawsuit up their Republican hoax up their ass

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Supreme Court has shot down another election case, offering the latest in a string of narrowly decided cases that found those bringing lawsuits must carefully follow court procedures.

As with other recent politically tinged cases, this one was decided 4-3 Friday by the court's liberals and Justice Brian Hagedorn, who was elected in 2019 with the support of Republicans.

Former Vice President Mike Pence says he is proud he certified the 2020 election for Joe Biden and slammed President Trump over the so-called “insurrection” of Jan. 6.

Pence was speaking to a crowd at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Thursday when he said that he still feels that certifying the 2020 election was the right thing to do.

“I will always be proud that we did our part on that tragic day to reconvene the Congress and fulfilled our duty under the Constitution and the laws of the United States,” Pence

The former VP appeared in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 800 at the hilltop library, the Daily Mail reported.

“Now, I understand the disappointment many feel about the last election,” Pence added. “I can relate. I was on the ballot. But you know, there’s more at stake than our party and our political fortunes in this moment. If we lose faith in the Constitution, we won’t just lose elections – we’ll lose our country.”

Pence has also said that he doesn’t think that he and President Trump will ever see “eye-to-eye” on what happened on January 6 in the capital.

The former VP clearly agrees that the incursion at the capitol was an “insurrection.”

Pence is not on our side, folks. He agrees with the lies of the left.

There was NO “insurrection” on Jan. 6th.

And Pence thinks that he is going to be a candidate for president?

Hardly.

Your days are done, sir. Retire. Or we will hang you in August

I'm not going to post the link.

But the crazy right wing nutcase websites say that science is a Marxist scam.

The June 2021 issue of Discover magazine contains an article, "Show Me The Science" by Anna Funk, Ph.D., an associate editor of that publication. It offers reasons that everyone should place their trust in science. It also sidesteps most of the arguments marshaled by critics of what's being passed off as science these days. The article states:

The formal process of science begins when a researcher thinks of a specific, testable question and seeks to answer it.

It’s hard to find fault with that statement’s parsimony. It’s necessary to observe, however, that it fails utterly to consider the boundaries within which scientific research occurs.

Understanding what happens before and after the formal process of science begins is at least as important as the process itself. That has never been more true. Dr. Funk’s insular assertion presumes scientific research occurs in an ideological vacuum. It does not.

Science today begins much sooner than when someone generates a testable hypothesis. It starts in elementary school, where students receive political indoctrination along with carefully winnowed pieces of subject matter that have been approved by the school’s administration. Students learn early that some things are not suitable even for casual discussion, let alone serious deliberation or scientific research.

Over time they learn that even thinking about these things is bad, that using terms associated with them ought to be frowned upon in a proper society. Like all social norms, these taboos are rarely written down anywhere, and if they are, they’re kept well away from parental or public scrutiny. Students learn that things their parents, family, and friends believe and have taught them are fundamentally incorrect and undesirable. They learn that ideas contrary to what they're exposed to in school should be rejected. Government is uniformly presented as the truest source of knowledge and guidance in modern society.

Such myopia flows readily into their socialization beyond K-12, where the same straitjacketed mental perspectives are reinforced, and rewards and punishments are based on how well one regurgitates politically correct answers. The very idea of questioning the reigning orthodoxy is thereby made progressively less likely. These are defining characteristics of an indoctrination system, not an education system. It coercively truncates what may and ought to be questioned.

Brighter students notice an appreciable, sometimes enormous, gap between what they’re supposed to learn and what their experience shows them is true. Those giving voice to such observations quickly learn doing so is risky. Our schools are no longer engaged in teaching students how to think. They’re focused on teaching them what to think.

Acceptable thought, Orwell’s “goodthink,” is the goal of our public indoctrination system. This is intellectually vacant but also seductive to many students as it avoids all the tedious trial-and-error necessary in learning to think for yourself. This readily suits our schools as independent critical thought is the very last thing they want from students.

Students learn that it’s unnecessary to go through all the trouble of primary learning. Smarter people have already done it for you. The lesson regularly reinforced is that it’s generally best to believe and do what you’re told.

Every level of U.S. education is suffused with politically expedient inertia. Graduates consequently emerge well-indoctrinated but functionally illiterate, innumerate, and resistant to understanding. That is the pool from which new scientists come.

The current Republican party is no longer conservative. Most of my Republican friends are not insane! Except for you know who ..

General Milley: (05:37)
Sure. First of all, on the issue of critical race theory, et cetera, I’ll obviously have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is, but I do think it’s important actually for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read. And the United States Military Academy is university and it is important that we train and we understand. And I want to understand white rage and I’m white, and I want to understand it. So what is it that cause thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the constitution of the United States of America? What caused that? I want to find that out. I want to maintain an open mind here, and I do want to analyze it. It’s important that we understand that because our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and guardians, they come from the American people. So it is important that the leaders now and in the future do understand it.

General Milley: (06:33)
I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist. So what is wrong with understanding, having some situational understanding about the country for which we are here to defend? And I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned, non-commissioned office rs of being quote woke or something else because we’re studying some theories that are out there. That was started at Harvard Law School years ago. And it proposed that there were laws in the United States, antebellum laws prior to the Civil War that led to a power differential with African-Americans that were three quarters of a human being when this country was formed. And then we had a Civil War and Emancipation Proclamation to change it. And we brought it up to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It took another a hundred years to change that.

Trump called the rally, which ran just over an hour and a half, the first of the 2022 cycle, hoping to use his influence over the party to lead Republicans toward winning control over Congress next year.

Trump’s Underlying Rally Message Is Clear: Fear Me

“Our movement is far from over,” he told the crowd. “In fact, our fight has only just begun.”

The rally was in support of Max Miller, a former Trump aide and Republican congressional candidate hoping to unseat the incumbent Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH). Gonzalez was one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump following the Capitol riot.

Trump accused Gonzalez of being a Washington, D.C. grandstander, claiming he had once tried to curry favor with the Trump White House by requesting a ride with Trump on Air Force One.

“He's a sellout, he's a fake Republican and a disgrace to your state,” he said. “He's the candidate of Liz Cheney.”

Although the rally was ostensibly meant to bolster Miller, Trump stuck to his old ways and used the event to air his own grievances and sing his own praises, repeatedly peddling the bogus claim that he was the true winner of the 2020 election.

“We won the election twice; it’s possible we’ll have to win it a third time, it’s possible,” he said. “We did much better the second time. With all of the shenanigans, what’s the real number?”

In attendance were some of Trump’s top loyalists since his departure from the White House: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

Saturday’s event, Trump’s first large-scale rally since he left the White House and lost access to his millions of Twitter followers, was his first major punch back toward those who he believes wronged him since the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He's vowed to campaign against those who voted to impeach and convict him after the attempted insurrection.

The event was also Trump’s attempt at exerting further dominance over the Republican Party. The Daily Beast reported Friday that the twice-impeached former president plans to use his new series of rallies, which includes stops in Florida and an appearance at the Southern border, to ward off any potential challengers to the election.

But he appeared far from offering any new ideas or plans in case of a 2024 run.

Throughout the rally, Trump stuck to his oft-used line about the “fake news” supposedly shutting off their cameras to avoid airing comments that might make them look bad —but this time the event was not covered by any of Trump’s old media foes. Indeed, only Newsmax and One America News aired the rally; Fox News opted not to broadcast it. RINO network!

Really Reverend...

Even for you (who would believe that the sky is green if Goddard wrote it) this is a stretch.

Hint, untill Biden rejects the reconciliation bill being pushed by Pelosi and Schumer, then he hasn't "walked" anything back.

He cannot both be in favor of the bi-partisan bill "and" an additonal reconciliation that will simply "take back" everything that Democrats gave up in their compromise.

Serious question for you Reverend?

Do you believe this nonsence, or are you simply regurchitating the TPM.
