To be clear, the NSA stated that Tucker Carlson was not a "target" of the NSA. However they did not deny that they actually have viewed Carlson's personal communication. More to the point, someone from the NSA obviously knew this information came from Tucker Carlson and then leaked this information to the media. This would constitute unauthorized unmasking and leaking. Both are criminal behavior.
What was the point in leaking information on Tucker Carlson, the most popular political media figure on the planet? Well likely simply because he is the post popular political media figure on the planet and he is critical of the Biden Administration. After attempt after attempt after attempt for liberals to somehow organize boycotts and such in order to "cancel" Tucker Carlson, he remains front and center. This was just another manner in which the left hopes to silence this particular critic.

Tucker Carlson says he was pursuing Putin interview around time of spying claims
BY MYCHAEL SCHNELL - 07/07/21 07:27 PM EDT
Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Wednesday he had been attempting to schedule an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin before he publicly claimed last week that the National Security Agency (NSA) was spying on him.
Carlson's comments came just after Axios published a report, citing sources familiar with the conversations, that Carlson had been communicating with Kremlin intermediaries in the U.S. about scheduling an interview with Putin when the Fox News host began accusing the NSA of spying on him.
Axios noted, however, that it had not confirmed if any of Carlson's communications were intercepted and if so, why.
Carlson, during his show on Wednesday, confirmed that he “contacted a couple of people I thought could help get us an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
He said he did not tell anyone about the attempt, other than his executive producer, because he “figured that any kind of publicity would rattle the Russians, and make the interview less likely to happen,” before again accusing the Biden administration of “reading my emails” and leaking the contents to news organizations.
The NSA has rejected Carlson's claim that the agency was monitoring his electronic communications in an effort to leak them and take his show off the air.
In a statement to Axios, a Fox News spokesperson said, “We support any of our hosts pursuing interviews and stories free of government interference.”
When reached for comment on the Axios report, Fox News referred The Hill to the network’s statements to the news outlet and did not offer any additional information.
Carlson last week accused the Biden administration of “spying” on him in an attempt to “take this show off the air.”
He claimed that a “whistleblower from within the U.S. government” told him and his producers that the NSA is “monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off the air."
The next day, the NSA issued a rare statement refuting Carlson’s allegations, writing that “Tucker Carlson has never been an intelligence target of the Agency and the NSA has never had any plans to try to take his program off the air.”
Carlson is now accusing the NSA of leaking some of his private emails to journalists.
During an appearance on Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria” on Wednesday, Carlson said the NSA shared his emails with journalists to “discredit me.”
“Yesterday, I learned that — and this is going to come out soon — that the NSA leaked the contents of my emails to journalists in an effort to discredit me. I know because I got a call from one of them saying, ‘Oh, this is what your email was about,’” Carlson said.
“So, it is not in any way a figment of my imagination. It’s confirmed. It’s true,” he continued, arguing that the Biden administration is attempting to gain “leverage” to threaten “opposition journalists.”
He doubled down on those allegations Wednesday night, telling his viewers that he learned the NSA planned to leak the contents to the news media.
“Why would they do that? Well the point, of course, was to paint me as a disloyal American. A Russian operative, been called that before. A stooge of the Kremlin, a traitor doing the bidding of a foreign adversary,” he continued.
He claimed that his name was unmasked, and that “the contents of my emails left that building at the NSA and wound up with a news organization in Washington,” adding “that is illegal.” He never referred to the Axios report.
Carlson maintained Wednesday evening that he was doing nothing wrong in pursuing an interview with Putin, telling his viewers that as an "American citizen, I can interview anyone I want, and I plan to."
Axios noted that it is normal for journalists to reach out to world leaders for interview requests, including through unofficial intermediaries. Additionally, a number of American journalists have interviewed Putin in the past, including Fox News’s Chris Wallace in 2018.
SO WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?
SEEMS LIKE IT'S TUCKER WHO'S TRYING TO MAKE HAY OUT OF THIS.
SEEMS LIKE IT'S TUCKER WHO'S TRYING TO MAKE HAY OUT OF THIS.
Unauthorized unmasking of Americans engaged in conversation with people that the NSA are targeting is illegal, Reverend. The identities of these people are redacted unless someone in authority makes a request (with a valid security reason) to unmask that person.
there is no reason why a journalist seeking an interview would be unmasked for security reasons. That makes the unmasking criminal.
Likewise, as soon as someone from the NSA leaked this information to the media, that became a second federal crime.
These actions are punishable by up to 10 years in prison, Reverend.
That is about 20 times the amount of prison time that the Qanon Shaman is looking at, and you support him being held without bail for months.
Apparently crimes are all political, huh Reverend.
You only want certain people prosecuted.
And when people you support commit felonies that you support... you act as if it is not a big deal.
Is that your argument?
That a felony unmasking/leaking is just Carlson making something out of nothing?
If Joe Scarborough had directly contacted Vladimir Putin to get rid of Trump, during his administration, you would be calling him a traitor and be executed under the Constitution on treason.
Tucker Carlson is still on the air every evening which you watch religiously after dinner with your lovely Asian wife.
Roger...
I couldn't care less what Joe Scarborough does or doesn't do.
I haven't watched Tucker Carlson really ever, much less nightly.
Tucker Carlson has no way of getting "rid of Biden" by interviewing Putin.
You just continue to lie about people because you cannot come up with an honest argument.
Why do you do this?
So Tucker tried to interview Putin because he wanted NOT to get rid of Biden?
There are only two reasons to interview putin?
NSA officials said that Tucker was not a “target” of an investigation but we know what that means – the NSA spied on Tucker by “incidentally collecting” his communications while ‘targeting’ someone
According to Axios, Tucker Carlson was being spied on by the NSA while he was seeking an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Tucker Carlson was talking to U.S.-based Kremlin intermediaries about setting up an interview with Vladimir Putin shortly before the Fox News host accused the National Security Agency of spying on him, sources familiar with the conversations tell Axios.
Scott, the bottom line is the first amendment rights. If the NSA was spying on him only, they should be investigated because it's not legal to spy on individuals, unless they are communicating with a rival country like Russia.
Carlson also said that they were trying to censor him. Unless you believe that the deep state conspiracists were trying to destroy Tucker Carlson, it appears incidentally collecting” his communications while ‘targeting’ someone else like Vladimir Putin!
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/07/nsa-unmasked-tucker-carlson-seeking-interview-vladimir-putin-report/
Tucker Carlson is a propagandist, but it's completely legal.
A minor language error.

The thing that bothers me the most is that the Republicans are trying to discredit our long established government, including of FBI, CIA various law enforcement agencies and the real nutcase websites believe that United States military is part of the Democratic party. The military has never interfered in politics because it is written in the Constitution.
Liberal vs conservative is not at stake.
The current Republican party is an authoritarian party.
I hope and pray that someone like Eisenhower and even Reagan steps forward to take down Donald Trump.
Why do you do this?
The alky is in the grip of severe mental illness.
I'm old enough to remember CNN interviewing Saddam Hussein, and Columbia U hosting Mach-mood Iwannadinnerjacket, but suddenly Carlson's desire to interview Putin is a matter of the highest level of national security.
This is the weaponization of government straight up against real or perceived political enemies. This shit happens all the time with democrats, from JFK to 0linsky, and now amplified under Biden*.
This is what we've come to expect from the left. EVERYTHING must be politicized, and all political opposition must be destroyed.
Helsinki and again "good people on both sides," should go down in history as the most dangerous situation since the civil war era.
Scott, seriously you should say something about this! I'm editing the personal attack on me

It's ironic that in order to peddle both of those false narratives, you're required to construct LIES.
This is why I cannot take the left seriously, and I consider every leftist to be inferior.
Hypocrisy may be the bedrock of liberalism, but it's pathological LYING that serves to frame out every construct.

The GOP’s sociopathic agenda has just been exposed: Bring democracy to a standstill -- then end it
Chauncey Devega, Salon
July 08, 2021
Today's Republican Party is a fascist, criminal, sociopathic, anti-democratic, white supremacist, theocratic, plutocratic and cultlike organization. Its leaders (and followers) have repeatedly and publicly shown the world that they embrace such values and behavior.
In response, the Democratic Party, the mainstream news media and too many average Americans have responded to the Age of Trump and its horrors by trying to convince themselves that the Republican Party and larger right-wing movement are something other than what they have shown themselves to be.
And of course there is the fetish of "bipartisanship." Under its sway, the Democratic Party's leadership and too many among the mainstream news media and commentariat have convinced themselves that compromise with Republicans, no matter how radicalized and extremist they have become, is something virtuous in itself.
If the road to hell is indeed paved with good intentions, that truism is especially correct here. President Biden and the Democrats have attempted to work with an opposition that has at almost every moment shown itself to be an enemy of democracy, up to and including its support for Trump's ongoing coup attempt and the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
As I have previously written, "white identity politics and white rage are more important than pocketbook issues for many of today's Republican voters." The only meaningful way Biden and the Democrats can fight back must begin with "acknowledging that this crisis of democracy is existential" and acting accordingly:
This means not cooperating with the Republicans on any policies in the name of "bipartisanship." Protecting American democracy should be the Democrats' No. 1 priority. To work with Republicans is to legitimize them as responsible partners in government, when in reality today's Republican Party is an extremist, anti-democratic and white supremacist criminal organization.
Today's Republican Party is ultimately incapable of being a partner in responsible governance. It rejects basic principles of democracy and compromise towards a shared goal of serving the public good. Instead, the right-wing movement's primary goals are chaos, obstruction and destruction, with the aim of delegitimizing the very idea of democracy itself — except as a meaningless term used to describe one-party Republican rule.
Republican leaders, officials and other spokespeople know this is the strategy and have repeatedly admitted to it. Leaked video footage of Rep. Chip Roy, a Texas Republican, saying precisely that is only the latest example. As reported by
Newly leaked video footage of a recent event hosted by the right-wing group Patriot Voices shows Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas openly admitting that his party wants "18 more months of chaos and the inability to get stuff done" as President Joe Biden, a bipartisan group of senators, and congressional Democrats work to pass climate and infrastructure legislation.
"Honestly, right now, for the next 18 months, our job is to do everything we can to slow all of that down to get to December of 2022," Roy says in the clip, referring to the month after that year's midterm elections. Republicans need to flip just a handful of seats to take back the House and Senate.
"I don't vote for anything in the House of Representatives right now," Roy says in response to an audience member's question about the sweeping infrastructure and safety-net package that Democrats are planning to pass unilaterally alongside a White House-backed bipartisan deal.
As Indivisible co-director Ezra Levin noted on Twitter, "Chip Roy got caught saying it out loud, but to be clear this has been [Mitch] McConnell's plan all
What does Roy's "18 more months of chaos and the inability to get stuff done" mean in practice? Of course it means blocking specific legislation, such as President Biden's infrastructure bill and investigations into the Trump regime and its obvious crimes. More important still, it means further restrictions on Black and brown people's voting rights in a 21st-century version of Jim Crow.
Over the last several decades, Republicans and movement conservatives have shown that for them democracy is not a primary virtue or a sacred principle. Instead, they view democracy as a means to an end, a tool for acquiring and holding as much power as possible so they can impose their will on those Americans targeted as the enemy.
Such political behavior is typical of failing democracies, where an extremist, authoritarian faction infiltrates government and then uses the institutions of democracy to destroy it from within.

You sure do know how to pick 'em alky.
LOL.
As Nancy MacLean, Heather Cox Richardson and other scholars have shown, one of the main tensions in American society is the relationship between democracy, property and the value of human life. Should capital and profit reign over all other considerations? Or should the United States be a social democracy where human rights have primacy over profits and property rights?
From before the founding to the present, America has been a racialized society structured around the dominance of white people over nonwhite people, and for much of that history Black people were defined as human property. So these debates about "freedom" and "rights" can often be reduced to a basic question: How much power, wealth and control should a small minority of rich white men hold over everyone else?"
In an interview last year with Yale News, political scientist Jacob Hacker explored how Republicans have built an implausible coalition rooted in "plutocratic populism," combining "organized money and organized outrage to win elections, tilt the playing field in their favor, and govern for the top 1%." In order to draw voters to support economic polices that were beloved by "big donors and big corporations but unpopular among voters, and even many Republicans," the party created an "infrastructure of outrage," notably the NRA, the Christian right and the right-wing propaganda media.
There's an obvious contradiction at work here, Hacker notes, but to this point Republicans have managed to conceal that from their own voters:
[T]he steep rise in inequality after 1980 created a sort of conservative dilemma for Republicans in the United States. Essentially, there's a growing tension between those at the top and the rest of society. It's a tension between the goals of the plutocrats — the richest people, big business, and the organizations they create to influence policy — and the ideas that Republicans need to articulate to attract ordinary voters.
In particular, Republicans have become increasingly reliant on white working-class voters. These are [Lee] Atwater's populists. But to do so, Republicans basically divorce their economic policies from their electoral strategies. Those strategies rest more and more on radicalizing voters and getting them to see electoral politics as "us versus them" identity wars. They use racial imagery, demonize government and Democrats, and basically create a kind of tribal identity around whiteness, conservative Christianity, rurality, gun ownership, and the like. The goal is to shift the focus from the growing economic divide and instead incite outrage that reliably gets their voters to the polls but doesn't challenge the party's plutocratic aims.
Unless Joe Biden and the Democrats jettison the totem of "bipartisanship" — which is largely a concern of the political class, not average Americans — the Republican Party's chaos campaign against democracy will keep on winning.
Next year's congressional midterms and the 2024 presidential election will be two of the most important elections in American history. Democracy is literally on the ballot. The Republicans and their allies and foot soldiers are following through on an aggressive plan to end multiracial, majoritarian democracy by nullifying the people's will, and have made clear they are willing to endorse right-wing terrorism and political violence to win and hold power.
What will it take for the Democratic Party, its leaders, the press and the American people to take the Republican Party's existentially dangerous behavior more seriously? Or is it already too late to stop America's accelerating descent into neofascism and a "whites only" pseudo-democracy?
Jimmy Hitler's heaven

I don't think so.

Trippi is calling for One People, One Nation, One Leader!
His argument is that President Trump is an authoritarian, when the opposite is true. A real strongman would have used covid 19 as an excuse to postpone the 2020 election indefinitely. A real authoritarian would jail dissidents indefinitely for minor crimes without trial -- as Josef Biden is doing with the people who entered the Capitol on January 6. A real authoritarian would have had the military shut down the real insurrections last summer by Antifa and BLM.
Naming this anti-American project after Lincoln is an old communist trick. In the 1930s, communists recruited the Lincoln Brigade (also known as the Lincoln Battalion) of Americans to fight alongside the communists in the Spanish Civil War.
Trippi wrote, "Every American, every corporation, the news media and the social platforms need to understand that there are no longer two functioning political parties in our country. Straddling between them is failing to understand our circumstances and the threat of an authoritarian movement that seeks to take power by any means. It’s time for all Americans to join this fight. Not one party over another. But all Americans against an authoritarian movement and its poison until it dies and another generation of Americans ensures that our democracy lives."
What Trippi is calling for is an authoritarian government to coerce Americans into having but one political party with no opposition, While we mock Never Trumpers, they seem to have the upper hand. No major media outlet -- not even Fox -- supports any review of the irregularities in the 2020 election. Indeed, the media silences those who dare raise questions.
Social media outlets already are working in concert to de-platform conservatives.
Republicans voting against Democrats in the House is now treason. The left no longer is satisfied with going after Trump voters. The left is after all the opposition. Are you now or have you ever been a Republican?
This smacks of the desperation facing Democrats who know that Donald Trump upset them on November 3 so badly that they had to Xerox off thousands of mail-in ballots at the last minute to make it appear they won. Mind you, this came after their cheating.
That they got away with it disturbs me.
We are close to losing our nation to government of the government, by the government, and for the government.
Under Lincoln's banner.

Tucker, fucked Biden .
A spectacular Win for Carlson.
NSA officials said that Tucker was not a “target” of an investigation but we know what that means – the NSA spied on Tucker by “incidentally collecting” his communications while ‘targeting’ someone else.
Yes... and by law those who are incidentally surveilled are redacted so that people do not know who they are.
Yes. First, the NSA is only allowed to intercept communications if at least one end of the conversation is outside of the U.S. -- though it doesn't have to distinguish domestic from foreign communication until the "earliest practicable point" which allows the NSA to record bulk information from Internet cables and sort it out later. When the NSA discovers that previously intercepted information belongs to an American, it must usually destroy that information. Because this determination cannot always be made by computer, this sometimes happens only after a human analyst has already looked at it.
The NSA also must apply certain safeguards. For example, the NSA must withhold the names of U.S. persons who are not relevant to ongoing investigations when they distribute information -- unless that person’s communications contain evidence of a crime or are relevant to a range of national security and foreign intelligence concerns.
Unwarranted unmasking is considered illegal according to FISA.
Leaking of any NSA information is a felony. NSA agents have spent months in jail for leaking unauthorized information to the press. But then again, it depends on who did the leaking and what they were leaking.
I haven't seen you provide a law you claimed they violated.
50 U.S. Code § 1821
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/50/1821
Specifically:
(B)procedures that require that nonpublicly available information, which is not foreign intelligence information, as defined in section 1801(e)(1) of this title, shall not be disseminated in a manner that identifies any United States person, without such person’s consent, unless such person’s identity is necessary to understand such foreign intelligence information or assess its importance;
Tucker Carlson was identified without his consent to Jonathan Swan of Axios that his email communications were being monitored by the NSA.
This is a felony.
The unmasker belongs in a Federal Penitentiary.
And btw.... Tucker Carlson wanting to interview Putin is not a crime, it is not a matter of national security, and it no way qualifies the NSA to unmask Carlson. Even if they did believe that a Journalist trying to interview a foreign leader was criminal or a national security issue... that information would then become part of an investigation, it would be classified, and illegal to release to the public.
So either way...
If it was just Carlson looking for an interview then the NSA should be redacting or destroying those conversations. Leaking it would be beyond pale. But even if they felt there was a security issue... that information would be part of an investigation, classified, and illegal to leak.
The NSA's twitter statement is a non-denial denial, since it does not address what info of Carlson's was collected "incidentally."
It's pure fucking bullshit.
A spectacular Win for Carlson.
For Putin too as he makes the American left look like fucking idiots every single day without even trying.
Now he's just doing burnouts on the White House lawn.
Bait and Switch
This is part of it, too: digging through the entire garbage dump to find the one thing that catches the light just right. Watching right-wing media test out theories is like watching a primitive artificial intelligence algorithm being chewed on by a computer. You see the false starts and the sanding off of rough edges. Trump’s insistence that the Russia investigation was a “witch hunt” was far older than news reports about those text messages or that warrant. But after holding up various ideas on Fox News and on conservative websites, it was those that eventually were agreed to provide the required proof.
The best example in recent months was Trump’s desperate effort to claim that rampant fraud had occurred in the 2020 campaign. Over and over, theories were elevated and presented as proof of that gut feeling; over and over they were revealed as hollow, misleading or wrong. It was a good example of another habit of Trump’s, throwing out as much nonsense as possible with the understanding that people need to view only one claim as credible for his point to stick. He just needs that foothold of well, it is weird that ... to have cover to push forward. So he lifts up every thing with even a tiny glint and hopes that it’s the thing that either becomes the agreed-upon proof of his point or serves to convince at least a few people that he might be right.
Story continues below advertisement
This is why there’s an “audit” of the vote results in Maricopa County, Ariz. It is explicitly an effort to root through cast ballots to find something that will bolster Trump’s point. There’s no other reason for it. This is why Trump allies want to see every second of footage from the Capitol on Jan. 6 and to know the name of the security officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt on that day. These are piles of information to root through.
Over and over, we see how this works: Using email attachment file names to accuse Anthony S. Fauci of misleading the public. Using one study (and ignoring myriad others) to claim that Trump was exonerated on his claims of the utility of hydroxychloroquine. Using the presence of one character at the Capitol to claim antifa infiltration. Or, stretching further back: using hacked emails to discredit climate science.
Any bit of nuance, real or manufactured, becomes a crack into which uncertainty can be wedged. It’s a bait-and-switch (or, for the logicians among us, a sort of motte-and-bailey): shifting what’s being asserted or defended to more favorable territory and then declaring victory.

“The challenge is if you believe that Nov. 3 was a landslide victory for Donald Trump that was stolen, and Jan. 6 was the day to stop that steal, I can’t come to an understanding with somebody when we’re dealing with completely separate sets of facts and realities… People are willing to kill and die over these alternative realities.”
— Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI), quoted by the New York Times.

Case in point.
4F-Alky state higher wages are not inflationary.
Of course they are.
Trump’s insistence that the Russia investigation was a “witch hunt” was far older than news reports about those text messages or that warrant.
After three congressional investigation, one FBI investigation, and a two year special counsel all finding nothing.
I would say that is the definition of a witch hunt.
The best example in recent months was Trump’s desperate effort to claim that rampant fraud had occurred in the 2020 campaign. Over and over, theories were elevated and presented as proof of that gut feeling; over and over they were revealed as hollow, misleading or wrong.
Yet, we have had zero congressional investigations, no FBI investigation, no Special Counsel, and only one independent audit done (which is still not complete).
So it would seem that perhaps we got this backwards. After five investigations over nearly three years finds nothing. You are allowed to call it a witch hunt. Because that is what is was.
But until you have had "some" actually investigation of these other claims, sort of hard to prove it to be a conspiracy theory, huh?
But it's amusing Roger...

Putin has publicly hinted at Biden’s overseas crimes.
The Biden administration is terrified of any journalist (that they do not control) getting in front of him— especially Tucker Carlson.
I remain interested in securing an interview with @KremlinRussia_E.
I actually hadn't thought of that.
And remember how scared Biden was at even taking questions from Russian reporters...
just lapdogs
TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS: Last week, we told you that the Biden administration's largest intelligence-gathering agency, the NSA, had been reading my private emails. Even noting that out loud is weird. It's one of those segments we never thought we would do ever.
But the country has changed that much that fast. And honestly, the whole thing was kind of shocking. The government was spying on us? Come on. It seemed crazy, but it's true. And no one in Washington appeared to be shocked in the slightest. In fact, the usual shills right after our segment had a ready explanation for it.
Either it never happened at all, they said, just a cable news show lying for ratings, or there must have been a good reason it happened. And they begin furiously making excuses for the NSA. A powerful, heavily politicized spy agency surveilling journalists who've been critical of the regime? No problem. It's perfectly normal. Just don't call it spying.
But it's not normal - at all. It is Third World, and as we told you repeatedly, it did happen. Now, that has been confirmed. Yesterday, we learned that sources in the so-called intelligence community told at least one reporter in Washington what was in those emails. My emails. It was nothing scandalous in there. Thank God. We're happy to report that.
Late this spring, I contacted a couple of people I thought could help get us an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. I told nobody I was doing this other than my executive producer, Justin Wells. I wasn't embarrassed about trying to interview Putin. He's obviously newsworthy. I'm an American citizen. I can interview anyone I want and I plan to.
But still, in this case, I decided to keep it quiet. I figured that any kind of publicity would rattle the Russians and make the interview less likely to happen. But the Biden administration found out anyway, by reading my emails. I learned from a whistleblower at the NSA plan to leak the contents of those emails to media outlets. Why would they do that? Well, the point, of course, was to paint me as a disloyal American. A Russian operative. Been called that before. A stooge of the Kremlin, a traitor doing the bidding of a foreign adversary.
And of course, I'm hardly the only person who's been accused of those things in the last several years. We've seen this movie several times now. At the same moment, the Communist Chinese government increases its already stunning level of control over this country, our leaders prattle on about the threat of Vladimir Putin. He's an evildoer, they tell us. A totalitarian dictator.
Vladimir Putin does things that no American leader would even consider. He runs domestic disinformation campaigns. He lies to the public. He punishes people for opposing him, or for believing the wrong things. He even uses intelligence agencies to spy on his own citizens. Beyond the pale stuff. So no decent American would interview Vladimir Putin, at least no reporter from Fox News. That was the point they wanted to make. That's why they plan to leak the contents of my emails to news organizations. And yesterday, as noted, we learned they actually did it.
Even now, some of the media are claiming that we deserve this. Emailing with people who know Putin, are you? Of course, the NSA is watching you. That's what you get. But that's hardly the point. By law, the NSA is required to keep secret the identities of American citizens who've been caught up in its vast domestic spying operations. So by law, I should have been identified internally merely as a US journalist or American journalist. That's the law.
But that's not how I was identified. It was identified by name. I was unmasked. People in the building learned who I was and then my name and the contents of my emails left that building at the NSA and wound up with a news organization in Washington. That is illegal. In fact, it is precisely what this law was designed to prevent in the first place. We cannot have intelligence agencies used as instruments of political control.
Both parties used to agree on that. Democrats were especially adamant on the point, but not anymore. So that's exactly what is happening here. We need to find out how this happened, who did it, who allowed it?
Paul Nakasone would know the answer. Paul Nakasone is the highly political director of the NSA. Paul Nakasone would have been required personally to approve my unmasking. That's how it works. Paul Nakasone should explain who asked for that unmasking and he should do it immediately.
Avril Haines would also likely know the answer. Haines is the even more political director of National Intelligence who oversees all of it. She may have approved the unmasking as well. She would certainly know who asked for it and who approved it. That's her job to know. She should release that information immediately, tonight. And if Avril Haines does not release that information, she should be forced to release that information.
We don't have a lot of power, we’re just a TV show. But we're going to keep pushing for that because it matters. Not just to us, but to the entire country. You can't have a democracy in a place where unaccountable spy agencies keep people in line by leaking the contents of their emails, discrediting them with their own emails, which they thought were private. It doesn't work if you allow that. And we suspect congressional Republicans will also demand an answer.
Many have finally awakened to the fact that the intelligence agencies, which they have blindly supported for so long, are not, in fact, their friends. They're not the friends of anyone in this country. They're dangerous. That's obvious.
the Communist Chinese government increases its already stunning level of control over this country,

'Those deaths were preventable': Unvaccinated parts of country are driving the pandemic now

WASHINGTON — Virtually all deaths from COVID-19 in the United States are now among
people who have not received their coronavirus vaccine. And those deaths are highly concentrated in counties — many of them in the Midwest and Southeast — where vaccination rates are precariously low.
On the other hand, transmission has effectively ceased in northeastern and western states where governors have made vaccination a top priority, and where resistance was low among residents from the start.

Professor at Air Force Academy Advocates Teaching the Military About Critical Race Theory
By Eric Lendrum
July 7, 2021
On Tuesday, a professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy published an op-ed explicitly defending the far-left conspiracy known as Critical Race Theory, and advocating for the subject to be taught all across the military, as reported by Fox News.
The op-ed by Lynne Garcia, an associate professor of political science, was published in the Washington Post under the title of “Why U.S. military academies should teach critical race theory.” In the article, Garcia openly declares that she teaches “critical race theories to our nation’s future military leaders because it is vital that cadets understand the history of the racism that has shaped both foreign and domestic policy.” Garcia provided no evidence to back up her claims that racism built American foreign policy.
Garcia went on to claim that Critical Race Theory “helps students identify the structural racism and inequality that has been endemic in American society,” again with no evidence. “It provides methods for deconstructing oppressive beliefs, policies, and practices to find solutions that will lead to justice.”
She even went so far as to accuse George Washington, the first president and the general who won America’s independence, of being a racist himself. Building off this baseless accusation, she claimed that “racism was ingrained in the system from the beginning, and the military still struggles with these issues.”
Garcia also used the op-ed to defend Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who defended Critical Race Theory in testimony before Congress despite claiming to not know what the theory even was. In that testimony, Milley falsely claimed that “White rage” was the cause of the mostly peaceful protests that took place at the United States Capitol on January 6th.
George Washington was a slave owner. He obviously believed that they were inferior to him because he was white.
That doesn't reduce his heroic performance as the General Of The Army of Independence!

Five Undervaccinated Clusters Put Entire U.S. at Risk

“A new data analysis identifies clusters of unvaccinated people, most of them in the southern United States, that are vulnerable to surges in Covid-19 cases and could become breeding grounds for even more deadly Covid-19 variants,” CNN reports.
“The five clusters are largely in parts of eight states, starting in the east in Georgia and stretching west to Texas and north to southern Missouri. The clusters also include parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Tennessee, and are made up of mostly smaller counties but also cities such as Montgomery, Alabama; Shreveport, Louisiana; and Amarillo, Texas.”

Farmworkers face dangerous conditions as heat waves scorch Western U.S.
David Knowles
David Knowles·Senior Editor
Thu, July 8, 2021, 10:04 AM EDT
With temperatures expected to top 110 degrees in California’s Central Valley and reach 120 degrees in the southern part of the state, migrant farmworkers will once again be forced to endure dangerous conditions born of climate change.
“Farmworkers really are at the frontlines of climate change,” Leydy Rangel, communications manager of the United Farm Workers Foundation, told Yahoo News. “Unfortunately, that’s an issue that will not get better. We know that heat is the No. 1 cause of weather-related deaths in the U.S.”
When a heat dome descended over the Pacific Northwest last month, Sebastian Francisco Perez, a Guatemalan immigrant, was found unresponsive.
Gov. Kate Brown directed the state’s workplace safety agency to implement rules designed to protect workers from extreme heat.
“All Oregonians should be able to go to work knowing that conditions will be safe and that they will return home to their families at the end of the day,” Brown said in a statement. “While Oregon OSHA has been working to adopt permanent rules related to heat, it became clear that immediate action was necessary in order to protect Oregonians, especially those whose work is critical to keeping Oregon functioning and oftentimes must continue during extreme weather.”
Teaching the so call "green" Three Stooges on how to be truly green.
The migrant could stay in their home country. Much cooler there?

Ca as the heat goes on and on......the goat thumper thinks is funny.......Idiot
A heat wave is bearing down on California over the next few days, and forecasters warn it will bring dangerous conditions.
The heat wave is ramping up Thursday and will continue across the inland areas into next week, bringing triple-digit temperatures to many parts of the region.
The National Weather Service has issued excessive heat warnings across portions of Southern California, including the San Diego County deserts, Coachella Valley, Antelope Valley, interior San Luis Obispo County and the Cuyama Valley. Saturday will likely be the warmest day overall, forecasters said.
The Apple and Lucerne valleys are preparing for temperatures that could climb as high as 120 degrees by the weekend — potentially the hottest of the year so far.
The extreme heat could reduce relative humidity levels to as low as 10%.

Even the conservative Wall Street Journal reports on Jim Crow 2021 got castrated by Republicans.
AUSTIN—The Texas Legislature kicked off a special session Thursday, called by Gov. Greg Abbott, to revive voting legislation that Democrats had killed in May by staging a walkout in the final minutes before a voting deadline.
Both the state House and Senate filed bills that are largely similar to the previous bill, which would have set some of the nation’s broadest restrictions on voting. Both new versions limit early voting hours, place additional restrictions on assisting disabled voters and voting by mail and makes many election missteps felony offenses. The Senate version requires state voter registrations to be compared with Department of Public Safety records monthly.
But the bills omit measures added to the previous version by a committee without public oversight, including a ban on Sunday morning early voting and a measure to make it easier to overturn elections.
Both new versions limit early voting hours, place additional restrictions on assisting disabled voters and voting by mail and makes many election missteps felony offenses.
Armed protesters are allowed to monitor voters. And even make it illegal for give water to people in line for hours.
It's the silly season, which means there's not much hard news to write about. So I thought I'd check in on the Republican Party instead. What are they up to these days? This:
Refusing to investigate the deadly insurrection of January 6 because it might make Donald Trump look bad. The Orange Monster must be destroyed!
Refusing to increase funding for the IRS because that might force rich people to pay the taxes they actually owe.
Claiming without evidence that the NSA is spying on Tucker Carlson. I'm still waiting for Scott asshole to provide reasonable evidence.
Whining that Facebook hates them, despite voluminous evidence to the contrary.
Declining to persuade their fellow conservatives to get vaccinated.
Passing laws that allow Republicans to replace election officials who are insufficiently loyal to the party
.Complaining endlessly about critical race theory, despite the fact that they still haven't produced much evidence about how racism is actually taught in American classrooms.
Pretending to negotiate over infrastructure funding.
Missing from this list is anything aimed at actually making the country any better off than it is now. It's all just political theater. I hope they're proud of themselves.
Kevin Drum
Deadly insurrection? One. Unarmed Trump supporter killed by an officer.
Compare that to the thousands billed in dem cities across the country.

Two more Trump supporters are likely to lose their taxpayer-funded paychecks over their role in the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
The Seattle Times reports that a six-month investigation has concluded two off-duty Seattle cops who participated in the "active insurrection" at the United States Capitol on January 6th should be fired.
In addition to condemning Seattle Police officers Alexander Everett and Caitlin Rochelle for participating in the riot, the report also flagged them for downplaying and "likely" lying to internal investigators about their actions.
They will lose their pension benefits.
The Scarlet ‘E’
We’ve already learned that all of us—with the exception of our rulers—are racists, sexists, etc. That’s a valuable lesson because it means, effectively, these accusations are substantively empty.
By Angelo Codevilla
July 8, 2021
Asking Americans to label one another “extremists” is the most ruinous thing that the woke oligarchy’s malevolent morons are doing to our country. They mean to criminalize insufficient deference to themselves. But a bit of courage is all it takes to expose their demand’s transparent absurdity.
Guidance comes from what happened in Denmark under Nazi occupation, 1940-1943. The Nazis, having demanded that Danish Jews be forced to wear a yellow star in public, so goes the story, were startled to find that Danish King Christian X put on the star. His subjects having done the same, and everyone having designated himself a Jew, there were no Jews. Only Danes. The Nazis had no way of discriminating against anyone.
The story is factually false. But its telling points to the deeper fact that saved Denmark’s Jews and serves as guidance to us today: The Nazis never made the demand because they had reason to believe that, had they done so, the Danes would have done something like what the story says. It would have deprived them of leverage as well as given them another black eye. The Danish people—king, parliament, and commoners refused to curry favor with the evil ones. The Danes knew each other, and stuck by one another. In so doing, they ostracized the Nazis.
In today’s America, every fount of power and privilege—from the FBI and the armed forces to our employers and Facebook—asks us anonymously to place the label “extremist,” a scarlet “E” of infamy, on whomever we choose to hurt, for whatever reason. They ask us to commit this most cowardly and self-serving of acts so they may use that “E” as a premise for “investigations” and classifications that amount to punishments. It also serves them by sowing suspicions and fostering enmities among Americans, leaving themselves as sources of fear and of precarious safety.
Sleepy Joe is doing something Obama couldn't. He is getting support from............Mitch McConnell..
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, speaking at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, expressed optimism that the upper chamber can pass a bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure package in coming weeks.
The bipartisan framework negotiated by a group of legislators — led by Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio) — has been met with broad support, with members of the Problem Solvers Caucus giving its seal of approval in the lower chamber.
McConnell (R-Ky.) leader appeared to be cautiously optimistic there could be a path for the agreement despite progressives pushing for it to be passed alongside a broader package without GOP backing, telling the crowd he would like to see the so-called “pay-fors” that are still being hashed out by the group.
$1.2 trillion.
After the election was called, Trump World mostly assumed that the president would behave rationally at the end of the day. Vice President Mike Pence and Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, both met with Mr. Trump in early November and separately told others that he just needed space to process the loss. Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter and a senior adviser, left some White House officials with the hope her father would invite Mr. Biden to the West Wing.
But Mr. Trump wasn’t interested in taking a bow. The decision from his team to give him space only created an opening for outside advisers like Rudy Giuliani, and behind the scenes, Mr. Trump was frantically moving personnel in and out of the administration.
And on July 8th he still hasn't conceded.
President Joe Biden Spying on Tucker Carlson.
Is illegal.
"Andrew Weissmann, the lead prosecutor for former special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, said Thursday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that Fox News host Tucker Carlson was “anti-American” for questioning being monitored by the NSA.
Weissmann said, “If you think about what Tucker Carlson could have done here, he could have followed the same route that “The New York Times” and other respected journalists did when they were incidentally overheard and may have, in fact, not been incidentally had their call records obtained by the Department of Justice"
Blames Tucker, nope. An American citizen for now still has rights.
.
Joe you stupid, stupid fucking Neo-socialist.
"A USA Today/Ipsos poll revealed Thursday that 77 percent of Americans want additional police officers, as Democrats move to defund law enforcement while crime surges nationwide.
“In the survey, 7 in 10 supported increasing police department budgets; 77% said they would like additional police officers deployed on street patrols. And 62% also said some of the police budgets should be used to fund community policing,” the poll revealed."
Democrats are on the wrong side of this by embracing and supporting the Defunding of COP's.
The GOP and the likes of the goat thumper have such deep seated hatred to their fellow man that humor flies over their thick stupid skulls......As the west suffers through another 1000 year heat wave and failing infrastructure, their media arm has time to berate a tongue in cheek parody as if it was the last thing on their agenda....Instead of getting trump voters to get shots.....they choose to look small and petty again!!!!!!!

The Biggest Bill In the History of the Country
July 9, 2021 at 6:46 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 9 Comments
“Democrats are hurtling toward their most consequential stretch of legislating since the passage of Obamacare, with major decisions left unmade as they wrangle over the size and scope of President Joe Biden’s sweeping domestic agenda,” Politico reports.
“July and August will render a decisive verdict on Democrats’ so-called ‘two-track’ strategy of enacting Biden’s jobs and families plans via twin bills, one with GOP support focusing on physical infrastructure and the other on a partisan spending plan centered on fighting climate change, increasing child care and raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy.
“Work on both items is nearing a climax, with senators in both parties drafting that centrist bill for a July Senate vote and the Senate’s 50 Democrats haggling over how big to go in their own, party-line endeavor.”
Cali is so jealous of Roger and me it's hilarious.

LIFE IN A PROGRESSIVE, REALLY COMPETITIVE AMERICA WILL BE BETTER
Biden’s Assault on Monopolies Launches
July 9, 2021 at 6:39 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 8 Comments
“The White House is scheduled to issue an executive order Friday to promote competition throughout the U.S. economy in the most ambitious effort in generations to reduce the stranglehold of monopolies and concentrated markets in major industries,” Politico reports.
“The order offers a response to progressives’ criticisms that the federal government has focused too much on supporting banks and other corporations without concern about the effect on consumers, who have watched their choices dwindle over the years. … The order’s impacts could be felt in industries including agriculture, airlines, health, broadband and banks."

Jealous of a fake pastor who sodomizes little boys, and a wife-beating, broken down alcoholic locked down in a nursing home with a genuine restraining order to his name.
Yeah, that's it pederast.
You fucking imbecile.
Rat who has trumps dick stuck up his ass continues to bullshit his way through life with lies and false allegations of others. Typical of white supremacists that have inferiority complexes as they skate through life promoting tyranny and injustice for all!!!!!!! BWAQAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Sad when he looks in the mirror he sees nothing but failure as his family abandoned him long ago when he turned in teachers for watching TV on break!!!!!
LOL
If Roger is as innocent of "wife beating" as I am of "sodomizing" anybody, we are both pure as the driven snow.
