What is the end game here for Democrats and voting laws?
Quite obviously Democrats are losing this particular argument in spite of making it their signature cause over the past couple of months. Voters in Georgia, Texas, and other states that are revising their voting laws are overwhelmingly in favor of these new laws. The support for voter ID laws has risen to the point where Democrats are starting to argue the revisionist history that they have always supported them. There is even support for a national voter ID law.
More and more Americans are recognizing fraud. More and more fraud cases are charged and prosecuted than ever before. A large percentage of our population believes that Joe Biden did not legitimately win the election and that cheating played a major role in the 2020 election. New polling is showing that a majority of Americans are now more concerned with fraud than voter disenfranchisement. Securing elections are more important that making it easier to vote.
So the question becomes, why is the President and other Democrats doubling down on this particular losing argument? Why is the President willing to lie so blatantly that even the Washington Post provides him with Four Pinocchios? Why are they working so hard to jam through an unpopular national voting law with no support from a single Republican and only luke warm support from even some of the Democrats?
To me it's obvious. Secure transparent elections where vote counting rules are put in place, where poll watchers are actually allowed to watch, where total gross numbers need to be reported by EVERYONE shortly after election day poll closing, are simply not elections that Democrats want to be part of. Democrats have lived and died with the idea that once everyone else is done and reported their numbers, that their own Democratic strongholds will still be out there counting votes, finding more ballots, and reporting statistically impossible numbers. Keep counting until you have the result you want, correct?
There has never been, in any election, at any time, large Republican strongholds still counting and finding ballots days after the election is over. There are never large Republican strongholds where poll watchers are being shut of of rooms while the counters lock the doors and close the curtains. There are never large Republican strongholds counting votes in the middle of the night with no supervision. There are never large Republican strongholds reporting ballot dumps that go 99% to 1% for the Republican candidate.
Fortunately, these lies are only working on the truly obsessed Democratic voter. Those liberals so immune to logic and common sense, that they are willing to believe the blatant lies provided to them by their fearless leader, even as they deep down know that 75% of the public sees through the lies.
These are the people who support the minority from Texas flying to Washington D.C. to illegally exercise a minority means to obstruct, so that they can show support for the elimination of the filibuster and pass an extremely unpopular national voting law 50-50 + tiebreak. These are the people who probably understand that this is their one last, best chance to hang on to the outdated and antiquated dishonest and unorganized manner in which our election process is performed.
One gets a sense that in many ways they would be willing to almost concede 2022 if they could just muster up the votes to get something like this passed through congress before they lose their majorities. We know they are lying about their reasons. Even the Washington Post sees through this. The real reasons are both nefarious and obvious.

Senate Democrats announce agreement on $3.5 trillion top line for sweeping budget package
By Ryan Nobles and Lauren Fox, CNN
Jul 13, 2021
(CNN) - Senate Democrats on the Budget Committee announced late Tuesday they struck an agreement on a $3.5 trillion budget resolution that includes spending for President Joe Biden's sweeping social agenda -- and would be a first step toward unlocking their ability to pass their own infrastructure bill later this year.
The effort is separate from a bipartisan bill on traditional roads and bridges and is expected to set the stage for Democrats to pass reforms like expanding the child tax credit, offering paid medical and family leave and potentially even overhauling the country's immigration system. The bill is also expected to include changes to the US tax code.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the agreement after emerging from a late-night meeting at the US Capitol, flanked by Budget Chairman Bernie Sanders of Vermont and others on the committee -- a sign of unity among members of the Democratic caucus that the committee had sought in recent weeks as they hammered out their framework.
The bill still has a long way to go. It's still unclear if the proposal of $3.5 trillion can earn the support of moderates who have made clear they have deep reservations about spending trillions more after a year of emergency relief spending during the coronavirus pandemic. Schumer on Tuesday said that the legislation will eventually have the 50 votes needed to pass the Senate.
"The budget resolution with instructions will be $3.5 trillion. You add that to the $600 billion bipartisan plan, you get to $4.1 (trillion), which is very, very close to what President (Joe) Biden asked us for," Schumer said. "Every major program that President Biden has asked us for is funded in a robust way."
Progressives Democrats have pushed party leaders to put forward a larger legislative package through budget reconciliation, meaning under Senate rules it could be passed through the Senate with only Democratic votes -- in order for them to support the separate, roughly $600 billion bipartisan infrastructure deal. Last month, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House would not take up the bipartisan infrastructure deal until the Senate passes a more sweeping package through budget reconciliation.
Biden will join Senate Democrats during their party lunch Wednesday, an effort to begin the sales pitch that will be needed to win over skeptical Democrats in the weeks ahead and another sign that the White House is fully immersed in a two-track strategy to pass infrastructure.
Schumer made it clear Wednesday the Democrats' $3.5 trillion plan would go beyond traditional infrastructure and include a historic expansion of Medicare, allowing coverage for the first time for hearing, dental and vision, a provision that has been a top priority for Sanders.
Sanders, who originally pushed for a much broader package with a goal of spending as much as $6 trillion, endorsed the plan Tuesday night calling it a "big deal."
He noted the package will raise taxes on wealthy Americans, though he did not specifically outline which ones. An aide told CNN the budget outline will prohibit tax increases on anyone making less than $400,000 a year.
".
The American people have seen the very rich getting richer and government developing policies, which allowed them to pay, in some cases, not a nickel in federal income taxes, they've seen corporations make huge profits," Sanders said. "In some cases, they're not paying a nickel in taxes. And what this legislation says, among many, many other things, is that those days are gone. The wealthy and large corporations are going to start paying their fair share of taxes, so that we can protect the working families of this country."
Sources told CNN later Tuesday that Sanders and Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal of Washington state had held a call with a group of progressive lawmakers on Monday in which they discussed $3.5 trillion not being enough to cover all of the legislative priorities they wanted to fit into the package.
"This is a capitulation by progressives," a progressive lawmaker familiar with the call told CNN on Tuesday, reacting to the agreed-upon number.
"Many in the Squad and Squad-adjacent will vote no," the lawmaker added, referencing members of the Democratic Party's progressive wing and making clear that it will be a rocky road of negotiations ahead.
Another source familiar with the Monday call said it was not about whether progressives would support the top-line number but rather the reality of what would have to be cut from the priority list if the final number ended up being around $3.5 trillion.
On Tuesday, moderate Sen. Mark Warner, a Virginia Democrat who played a key role in the budget negotiation, joined Sanders in endorsing the plan.
"I've done this job for about 12 years. I can't think of a more meaningful effort that we're taking on, than what we're doing right now," Warner said.
While the Democrats' agreement marks a significant in the process, it marks the beginning of a lengthy and intense summer of negotiations. Democrats will have to pass their budget before the August recess if they want to meet Schumer's deadline.
Then, more than a half dozen Senate committees will have to draft the Democratic bill -- a process that will include weeks of discussions and a review from the Senate parliamentarian, who may limit what Democrats are actually able to include in their final proposal.

When they said the same thing about the former President, you called them A Dem hoax because they hated Trump.
Hypocrisy award for S. Scott Johnson schizophrenia!
Trump’s willingness to constantly repeat false claims has posed a unique challenge to fact-checkers. Most politicians quickly drop a Four-Pinocchio claim, either out of a duty to be accurate or concern that spreading false information could be politically damaging.
Not Trump. The president keeps going long after the facts are clear, in what appears to be a deliberate effort to replace the truth with his own, far more favorable, version of it. He is not merely making gaffes or misstating things, he is purposely injecting false information into the national conversation.
To accurately reflect this phenomenon, The Washington Post Fact Checker is introducing a new category — the Bottomless Pinocchio. That dubious distinction will be awarded to politicians who repeat a false claim so many times that they are, in effect, engaging in campaigns of disinformation.

WHY DIDN'T YOU GET A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT THOSE FOUR PINNOCHIOS, CH?
YOUR SCATTERSHOT THREAD ARTICLE DID NOT.
CAREFULLY READ THE BOLDFACED BELOW.

Biden gets 'Four Pinocchios' from Washington Post over claim Georgia voting law slashes poll hours and early voting
The Washington Post fact-checker gave President Joe Biden a rating of “Four Pinocchios” in response to a claim he made about an election integrity law recently passed in Georgia.
ONE SPECIFIC LAW, THAT IS.
“What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is,” Biden said about the Georgia law that many on the Left have characterized as an attempt to “limit voting.” “It’s sick. It’s sick … deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off work.
“Among the outrageous parts of this new state law, it ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over,” Biden added.
The Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler responded to those two claims and pointed out that nowhere in the law are voting hours limited and early voting was, in fact, expanded.
“On Election Day in Georgia, polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and if you are in line by 7 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot. Nothing in the new law changes those rules,” he wrote. “However, the law did make some changes to early voting. But experts say the net effect was to expand the opportunities to vote for most Georgians, not limit them.”
Kessler’s article included comments from several election experts who disagreed with Biden’s characterization of the bill.
“So where would Biden get this perception that ordinary workers were getting the shaft because the state would ‘end voting at five o’clock’?” Kessler wrote. “We have one clue.”
He continues: "The law used to say early 'voting shall be conducted during normal business hours.' Experts said that generally means 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new law makes it specific — 'beginning at 9:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM.' A Georgia election official said the change was made in part because some rural county election offices only worked part-time during the week, not a full eight-hour day, so the shift to more specific times makes it clear they must be open every weekday for at least eight hours."
The article also pointed out that Biden’s home state of Delaware did not allow any in-person early voting last November.
Biden, along with fellow Democrats, has been urging Congress to pass a massive voting rights bill that is currently being weighed in the Senate after being approved by the House.
WHY DID YOU FEEL YOU HAD TO MISCHARACTERIZE AND LIE ABOUT THIS, CH?
The real reasons are both nefarious and obvious.
They are hiding Sleepy Joe Biden's dementia claim by Trump.
More evidence of the deep staters are communist who have been running since he rolled down the escalator.

— Former John McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt, on Twitter.
The Washington Examiner went even further into nutcase schizophrenia
By banning voter identification requirements, making it harder for localities to maintain clean voting lists, and legalizing ballot harvesting, liberals hope they can rig the rules, guaranteeing a generation of control of the White House, House, and Senate.
Republican states have every right to manage their own elections and return to the election systems they had before COVID-19. Returning to the voting rules we had in 2018 is not a return to Jim Crow.
Biden’s invocation of the Civil War is the lowest form of partisan hyperbole. If he really believed Republicans were bringing back slavery or Jim Crow, he would have done more. His own unwillingness to end the filibuster, so as to avoid a catastrophe, proves he doesn’t believe his own silly rhetoric.!!!!!!!!

Why Republicans Are Turning Against Vaccines

Jonathan Bernstein:
“What is available to those wishing to differentiate themselves from mainstream conservatives are
nonsense and nihilism.
Come up with something crazy enough,
or destructive (including self-destructive) enough,
and maybe the bulk of the party won’t follow them,
allowing them to ‘win’ the True Conservative game.
This has been going on for some time, with partisan polarization turning the party more and more conservative, and removing
first the liberal Republicans
and then the moderates
and eventually anyone but the very conservative,
forcing the fringers to find more and more dubious ways to prove
that they and only they are True.”
“The key point here is that there is no counter move available to the rest of the party.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi or Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer can say that they oppose such-and-such a policy because they are liberals, not socialists.
There’s no parallel move for the Republican congressional leaders, Kevin McCarthy in the House or Mitch McConnell in the Senate.
That doesn’t mean that mainstream conservatives always go along,
but within the norms of the party
they’re not allowed to call anyone too conservative,
let alone any more negative characterization.”

Harris met with Texas Democrats who fled state over GOP-backed voting law
"I know what you have done comes with great sacrifice, both personal and political," Harris said to Texas Democrats in a closed meeting Tuesday, according to USA Today. "You are doing this in support and defense of some of our nation's highest ideals."
The group of 67 state Democratic lawmakers fled Texas Monday to block the legislature from reaching the two-thirds attendance level required to conduct business. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott called for a special session of the Texas legislature, which started last week, after Democrats staged a similar walkout in May.

Donald Trump is a Fascist.
We’re past the point of pretending it was antifa that did January 6, past the point of pretending that Trump didn’t want what he fomented and what he got. In his interview on July 11—as in the ever more explicit talk of his followers—the new line about the attack on the Capitol is guilty but justified. The election of 2020 was a fraud, and so those who lost it are entitled to overturn it.
I do not consider myself guilty. I admit all the factual aspects of the charge. But I cannot plead that I am guilty of high treason; for there can be no high treason against that treason committed in 1918.
Maybe you recognize those words. They come from Adolf Hitler’s plea of self-defense at his trial for his 1923 Munich putsch. He argued: You are not entitled to the power you hold, so I committed no crime when I tried to grab it back. You blame me for what I did; I blame you for who you are.
Trump’s no Hitler, obviously. But they share some ways of thinking. The past never repeats itself. But it offers warnings. It’s time to start using the F-word again, not to defame—but to diagnose.

This account of Carlson’s years-long focus on racial grievance, and his rise to the top of the conservative media ecosystem, is based on a review of his books, broadcasts and writings over nearly three decades, as well as interviews with current and former associates, subjects of his on-air attacks and others who have observed his career.
What emerges is a portrait of an ambitious television personality who came of age in privilege — having grown up in an upper-class enclave and attended private schools — but who, by his own telling, is a victim.
Carlson, in his writings and commentaries, has described resentment toward liberals as far back as the first grade. He has frequently ridiculed the notion that America should celebrate diversity and has lashed out repeatedly at the idea that he, as a White person, bears any responsibility for racism against Black people.
Several people who have interacted with him over the years say they don’t know what he really believes, but they say they are increasingly troubled by his influence as what one of his former mentors described as a “very talented demagogue.”
Two of the leading conservative activists battling critical race theory, an academic construct in which systemic racism is studied, credit him with the rapid rise of their movement, while Black scholars he frequently targets say he mischaracterizes and manipulates their work to suit his agenda.
Carlson’s rise has, not coincidentally, come about during a time of extraordinary political upheaval. His audience soared as Donald Trump was remaking the Republican Party around “America first” appeals that embraced further restrictions on migration and a turn away from America’s tradition as a land of immigrants. And the show thrived as the murder of George Floyd triggered a visceral debate over systemic racism, and after a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol.
Night after night, Carlson stokes resentment among his audience of nearly 3 million — which gave him the highest-rated cable news show in the most recent quarter — and the millions more who absorb his viral outbursts on social media. He blasts liberals, throttles Republican leaders whom he sees as insufficiently devoted to battling the “woke” left, and generally sets the parameters for the far-right anti-elitism that defines today’s GOP.
Carlson has used his influence to spread unfounded claims that have been embraced by many Republican leaders. He has echoed Trump’s falsehood that the election was “rigged.” He promoted the baseless notion that FBI agents were behind the storming of the Capitol. And although he has described himself as “pretty pro-vaccine,” Carlson has questioned the efficacy of vaccination against the coronavirus, saying, “maybe it doesn’t work and they’re simply not telling you that” — leading President Biden’s chief medical adviser Anthony S. Fauci to rebut his “crazy conspiracy theory.”
But on many nights, it is Carlson’s White grievance that dominates the show.
Basically the Welfare Queen rhetoric been used for decades.

Sorry Reverend. But you are incorrect.
Read my post:
This is about Democrats lying about the Georgia law, lying about the Texas law, lying about every new law. Demanding that these popular laws are "Jim Crow on steroids" and demanding that they are voter rights restriction laws...
Without offering the slightest proof that they actually restrict any voting.
Not one person has been brought forward yet that has been determined to not be able to vote because of any of these laws. Not one single voter.
Sure, you can longer just show up anywhere and hope to cast a ballot in the wrong place. You might have to prove you are you before you can mail in an absentee ballot. Gasp!!! But you can still vote.
The Voter ID is simply one of mahy issues. Joe Biden specifically lied (and has continued to lie) about the Georgia, Texas and other state laws. That is what I suggested and what the Washington Post called him out for.
The post does not suggest he lied about "voter ID".

Cuba protests: One dead and scores missing after rare demonstrations
Wed, July 14, 2021, 5:55 AM·3 min read
One man has died in Cuba and more than 140 have been arrested or reported as missing during rare demonstrations against its Communist government.
Diubis Laurencio Tejeda, 36, died in a suburb of Havana on Monday during a clash between protesters and police.
Cuba's interior ministry did not say what the cause of death was but alleged he was part of a group that attacked a government facility.
However, witnesses said security forces had attacked the protesters.
'The Communists have lost control'
State media said Mr Tejeda had been involved in "disturbances" in the La Güinera neighbourhood of Havana on Monday, where a group allegedly attacked a government facility.
It reported that several others had been injured, including members of the security forces.
In a statement on Tuesday, the interior ministry accused demonstrators of vandalism, setting fires and attacking police and civilians.
But witnesses have said the security forces attacked peaceful protesters who joined a spontaneous demonstration in the neighbourhood.
Waldo Herrera, who lives in the area, told Reuters news agency officers had drawn their guns and started shooting at the demonstrators.
"I think the Communists have lost control, they won't have a solution to this situation," he said.
Data journalism site Inventario recorded more than 40 protests on Sunday.
Such unauthorised public gatherings are illegal in Cuba and the security forces took swift action.
On Tuesday, the police were out in force on the streets.
Amnesty International says at least 140 Cubans have either been detained or their whereabouts are unknown, with relatives fearing they are being held at undisclosed locations.
"They took my daughter yesterday and I have no news of her," one woman outside a police station in Havana told the Agence France Press news agency on Tuesday.
What's behind the protests?
The rare anti-government demonstrations began on Sunday, when thousands took to the streets in protest over food and medicine shortages, price hikes and the government's handling of Covid-19.
The unrest began with a demonstration in the city of San Antonio de los Baños, south-west of Havana, but soon spread throughout the country.
Posts on social media showed people overturning police cars and looting state-owned shops that price their goods in foreign currencies. For many Cubans, these shops are the only way they can buy basic necessities but prices are high.
'Economic suffocation'
President Miguel DÃaz-Canel has called the demonstrators "counter-revolutionaries".
His government blamed the United States, and its economic sanctions, for both the protests and Cuba's wider problems.
US sanctions have restricted trade with Cuba since 1962. They were tightened under former US President Donald Trump, who also imposed sanctions on Venezuela, which is Cuba's main supplier of oil.
Cuba's foreign minister called it a "policy of economic suffocation to provoke social unrest in the country".
But the White House said that Cubans had suffered "decades of repression".
Speaking on Monday, President Joe Biden said the US "stands firmly with the people of Cuba as they assert their universal rights".

Ballot collection allows a designated person to deliver a voter’s mail ballot for them, and Californians have been doing it for several years. The practice is also legal, with some restrictions, in Colorado, Georgia, and Montana.
The Republicans are calling it ballot harvesting. And they are banning anything like that.
The voter had already been verified
If your grandfather couldn't go out to vote, the Republicans are banning it everywhere.
Just a few votes per district would favor Republicans.

So when ACTUAL political refugees from Cuba flee their country for America and apply for asylum the Biden Administration is all of the sudden an immigration hardliner. Seems a little fishy.

The legitimacy and legality of the voter might have been verified, but the legitimacy and legality of the actual BALLOT had NOT.

“We’re going to face another test in 2022: a new wave of unprecedented voter suppression, and raw and sustained election subversion. We have to prepare now.”
— President Biden, quoted by NBC News.
THIS TIME THE REPUBLICANS WILL TRY TO OVETHROW THE ELECTION BEFORE, NOT AFTER, IT HAPPENS.
Exactly correct
Your thread article did not specifically zero in on exactly, specifically WHAT in the Texas law changes Biden was objecting to, for which he was given four pinnochios.
Which clearly means that you suggesting it was Voter ID was something you just sort of pulled out of thin air. As Rat stated. Read the post and the link before criticizing something you assumed (and were wrong about).
But as it generally is... when the Reverend sees something that makes him uncomfortable, he generally focuses in on some mundane detail that has little to do with the larger point.
And the fact that Democrats are losing this argument makes the hard core left clearly uncomfortable. Not because they actually "believe" that these are "Jim Crow laws on steroids" or that the law restricts voting or anything they claim. But because laws that fundamentally require transparency, verification, and prevents fraud is something that takes away a huge part of their election strategy.
Did you notice in 2020 that Republican States like Florida, Texas, Ohio counted their mail-in early votes first... and then counted the same day in person voting. As would be logical because mail in and early votes are already sorted and ready to go. Biden actually had a big lead in Ohio, before the same day votes were counted.
Did you notice that all of these states were completed in a timely fashion and that none of them had any unusual statistical anomalies?
But states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and others with Democratic Governors and election officials did it the other way around. They started with their in person voting and then later going back and counting their mail in ballots. This took days (for the same or less amount of votes)? Why would anyone "choose" to be that ineffective and illogical. Why would anyone "choose" to make is so that they are still counting days later?
Same sized states with the same amount of ballots. Why does it take Democrats so much longer to count?
Ballot collection allows a designated person to deliver a voter’s mail ballot for them, and Californians have been doing it for several years. The practice is also legal, with some restrictions, in Colorado, Georgia, and Montana.
In almost all states, only a family member (or a designate) can turn in a ballot for something. In California, you had people going door to door having people fill out ballots and then turning them in for them. You even had people going to places like nursing homes to have ballots filled out.
Having a son or daughter take an elderly person's ballot in for them is not ballot harvesting, nor does anyone call it such.
Having a person go collect multiple ballots from complete strangers is ballot harvesting and it has been illegal in pretty much everywhere but California for some time.
I am smart enough to know the difference and to know when someone is being dishonest. Apparently Roger is not.
A Pivotal Moment
If the Democrats pass this bill using the reconciliation process, it will be the biggest and best plan since LBJ passed the Medicare bill! Ronald Reagan said that Medicare would destroy our health care system.
WASHINGTON — Senate Democratic leaders announced an agreement Tuesday evening to advance a $3.5 trillion spending plan to finance a major expansion of the economic safety net.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said the $3.5 trillion would be in addition to the $579 billion in new spending in the bipartisan infrastructure agreement.
He said the deal would include a "robust expansion of Medicare" that would include new benefits like dental, vision and hearing coverage, along with major funding for clean energy. "If we pass this, this is the most profound change to help American families in generations," he said.
"Joe Biden is coming to our lunch tomorrow to lead us on to getting this wonderful plan that affects American families in a so profound way, more than anything that's happened to generations," Schumer told reporters. "We are very proud of this plan. We know we have a long road to go. We're going to get this done for the sake of making average Americans' lives a whole lot better."
Moderate Democrats expected to be on board with Senate budget resolution
Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., a member of the Budget and Finance committees, said the plan would be "fully paid for."
The agreement would prohibit tax increases on small businesses and people making under $400,000, a Democratic aide familiar with the deal said.
The announcement points to a challenge for Democrats, who will have to agree on a massive bill that is financed with new tax revenue to pass it through razor-thin congressional majorities, with no realistic hope of winning Republican support.
Democrats have no margin for error in the 50-50 Senate, and they can lose just four votes in the House before the legislation would be in danger of failing.
"This is, in our view, a pivotal moment in American history," Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., the Budget Committee chairman, told reporters.
"What this legislation says among many, many other things is that those days are gone. The wealthy and large corporations are going to start paying their fair share of taxes, so that we can protect the working families in this country," he said.
The agreement, a significant decrease from Sanders' $6 trillion proposal, is an attempt to achieve consensus in an ideologically diverse Democratic Party with a host of competing interests. The legislation has yet to be written.
Senate Democratic leaders hope to advance both the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the party-line budget reconciliation bill this month, before Congress leaves for the August recess.
As Senate Democrats were literally down the hall agreeing on their plan, a separate bipartisan group of 22 senators were meeting in another room working to hash out the last remaining issues on their own $579 billion plan.
"There's a goal to have all the member-level decisions made by the time we end the session on Thursday," Sen Rob Portman, R-Ohio, said after the meeting.
That group hopes to get investment and funding questions resolved by the end of the week so that the bill text can be finalized, and the Congressional Budget Office can do its cost analysis.

If they get it done, it will go down in history as a transitional moment in history.

And this is the fraudulent shit that H.R.1 makes legal NATIONWIDE.
Reverend...
Joe Biden has continuously lied. The "rhetoric" about Jim Crow on steroids is based on those lies. Whether he has stated that these laws limit voting hours, limit early voting, or whatever... every single statement is a lie.
These laws are expanding or keeping the same voting hours, they are all expanding early voting hours, and they are actually making it easier to cast a legal ballot.
Anyone and everyone who argues differently is lying. Flat out.
This is red herring. Their real problems are with the fact that you will have to prove that you are who you are when you send in a mail in ballot. That you have to actually go to the proper place to vote. That election poll watchers will be allowed to actually watch. That ALL Counties will have to report their numbers in a timely fashion, that poll worker from other areas (Republican) will come to assist larger (Democratic) workers to make sure the votes are counted effectively, accurately, and timely.
These laws make it harder for an individual voter to cheat and it puts much stricter restrictions, oversight and requires much more transparency in the vote "counting" procedure.
Funny how Republican election officials are not upset that poll watchers will be allowed to watch, or that they have to report their total vote count pretty much immediately when they have it, or that they might receive assistance if they lag behind.
Why do you suppose that only one side is afraid of oversight and transparency?

That is exactly what ballot harvesting is and exactly what California put into law.
Trust me, Rog... this is just another one of those areas where once you figure out that the Democrats in your state support it... suddenly you will "change your mind".
Republican spokesman Hector Barajas argued that the “state law allows organizations, volunteers, or campaign workers to collect completed ballots and drop them off at polling places or election offices.” He said there are no specifications in the law on how the ballots are collected.
The law signed by Brown allowed any person to return ballots to proper voting locations with the one prohibition that the ballot collectors cannot be compensated for their activity.
Prior to Brown signing the new law, a voter who was not able to deliver his or her own ballot had multiple choices for a designated person to return that voter’s individual ballot: a spouse, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild, brother, sister, or person residing in the same household as the voter. There seemed little complaint about the old system. Voters had ample opportunity to participate in an election.

President Biden is speaking to a country that no longer exists.
Unified Republican control in 23 states means that opponents have little chance to derail voter-suppression bills at the state level. In state capitals, the country is witnessing a divergence between Democratic-led states, which tend to be loosening their voting laws or keeping them the same, and Republican-led ones, which are mostly moving to make voting more difficult.
In the past, voter advocates and Democratic administrations have relied on the judiciary to block legislation that makes voting harder for some people. Biden praised efforts by civil-rights groups to “stay vigilant and challenge these odious laws in the courts” and touted an already-announced plan to beef up the Justice Department’s voting-rights team. But those lawyers and their peers in private practice face a system that’s less and less friendly to their challenges; the Supreme Court issued a decision further weakening the Voting Rights Act earlier this month.
Without any real levers left to pull, Biden has only the bully pulpit of the presidency. The problem is that the power of persuasion has always been overstated, and may be weaker today than ever.
And so he proceeds as though the world is otherwise. During his inaugural address, Biden pledged to bring together a divided populace. “I know speaking of unity can sound to some like a foolish fantasy these days,” he said. “I know that the forces that divide us are deep and they are real.” He’s got a lot of work ahead of him on that front, and until it’s complete, he has little choice but to appeal to an America that doesn’t exist.

Report Card: Six Months Into Biden’s Presidency
WEDNESDAY, JULY 14, 2021
Joe Biden has a good chance of getting America back to where it was before the pandemic. Covid-19 is in retreat. So far, almost half of the adult population has been fully vaccinated. The economy is roaring back – still 7 million jobs short of where it was in January 2020 but on track to return to the starting gate by the end of the year. Biden’s “American Rescue Plan” is a major success.
But it’s not clear Biden will get America back to where it was before Trump. His initial slew of executive orders erased most of Trump’s executive orders, but he hasn’t yet demolished all of Trump’s cruel immigration policies. Trump’s xenophobic rhetoric is gone but Biden hasn’t repaired relations with China. Many of Trump’s tariffs are still in place. And even with a bare Democratic majority in the US Senate, there’s little chance Congress will repeal all of Trump’s tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.
What about Biden’s big plans to remake America? Depending on your point of view, they’re either on hold or stalled. He’ll likely get bipartisan support for over half a trillion dollars of new spending for “hard” infrastructure. That’s not nothing. Beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess what Senate Democrats will agree to on legislation covering childcare, the environment, and healthcare and education that can circumvent a Republican filibuster.
The biggest potential disaster concerns voting rights. As Republican-dominated states continue to restrict voting on the basis of Trump’s big lie about 2020 election fraud, and the Supreme Court signals its reluctance to get in the way, the only hope lies in what was supposed to be the Democrats’ highest priority – the For the People Act, setting minimum national standards for voting, and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, restoring the potency of the old Voting Rights Act after the Court gutted it in 2013. But Senate Republicans won’t go along, and the refusal of a few Senate Democrats to alter the filibuster rule to allow them to be passed by a bare majority has condemned them to limbo.
Biden’s failure to make the right to vote his highest priority – to visibly fight for it, make it his own personal cause, and go on the road to take that cause to the American people – is not only bad policy for the nation. It’s also bad politics. It may cost Democrats dearly in next year’s midterm elections, and beyond.
If the Republicans succeed, the minority party will prevail for decades and beyond.
The modern media era has returned different realities.
If he succeeds to break up the media monopolies, the county may return to normality.
James and the anonymous brother we need to keep fighting again the big lie.

BREAKING: Tucker Carlson Says He Will Reveal “New” Evidence of Voter Fraud in Fulton County, Georgia
Tucker Carlson will reportedly be doing an Election Fraud “special” on Wednesday. The new evidence would add to the numerous issues with Fulton County’s election in the presidential race.
The most notorious example was a videorecording from State Farm Arena that showed election workers dragging out boxes of ballots from under a table after election observers were wrongfully sent home early.
Contrary to widespread media myths, as the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway rightly pointed out, the State Farm vote-counting video has not been “debunked.”
The Georgia Star recently published a report showing that Fulton County admitted to missing chain-of-custody records for absentee ballots that were put into “drop boxes.”
“Seven months after the election, Fulton County has failed to provide the transfer forms for approximately 19,000 drop box absentee ballots,” The Star News reported.

Legal Marijuana is a good day. I almost got arrested for drug related crimes, all but one were related to marijuana .
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) unveiled draft legislation on Wednesday to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level.
Why it matters: Though the legislation faces steep odds in the 50-50 Senate, it's a major milestone for marijuana activists and a sign of how far the debate has moved on criminal justice and the war on drugs.
Details: The bill, called the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act, would remove the drug from the Controlled Substances Act and impose a federal tax on marijuana products, according to Marijuana Moment.
Revenue from the tax would be used to fund grant programs for communities most impacted by marijuana prosecutions. Regulation of marijuana would be transferred away from the Drug Enforcement Administration to the Food and Drug Administration and other agencies.States would still be allowed to set their own marijuana laws, but businesses and individuals in states that have legalized it would be allowed to sell and consume marijuana without the risk of federal punishment. The bill would also require federal districts to expunge nonviolent marijuana-related arrests and convictions within one year.
Between the lines: Taking marijuana off the list of controlled substances "would remove the most difficult regulatory burdens from U.S. marijuana companies, allowing them to take tax deductions, hold bank accounts and loans, and list on U.S. stock exchanges such as the Nasdaq and the NYSE," Bloomberg reports.
What they're saying: "For decades, young men and women — disproportionately young Black and Hispanic men and women, have been arrested and jailed for even carrying a small amount of marijuana in their pocket," Schumer said on the Senate floor Wednesday. Sometimes the third arrest could get a lifetime sentence.
"This is monumental," Schumer said Wednesday while announcing the draft legislation. "At long last we are taking steps in the Senate to right the wrongs of the failed war on drugs."

China, Russia and OPEC are taking advantage of Biden's weakness.
If Republicans were really trying to make it easier for more people legally to vote, including blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, legal immigrants, or any citizen, they would be facing no opposition to their rivised laws,
And things like Voter ID has almost no opposition. Even a vast majority of minorities believe we should have stricter Voter ID laws.
The opposition to the Georgia and Texas laws are not coming from citizens from Georgia or Texas (where the laws are popular) - but from Democratic politicians and their minions in the media.
Why is it Reverend... that the President must "lie through his teeth" to make a case and then still cannot convince anyone he is right?
If this was big problem for Republicans, then I would strongly suspect that they will all be "voted out of power". As it is, even Democrats believe that Warnock (for example) will lose in Georgia in 2022.
My challenge for either Roger or the Reverend...
Is to point out the "factual" issues in these laws that actually makes it harder to vote. Prior, when asked to find issues... the Democrats suggested that the Texas laws changing the hours on Sunday to later in the day was restricting minority voters. This was in spite of obvious conflicts that made it easier for most citizens to get to the polling places later on Sunday rather than earlier.
But they made a big point out of the fact that for a couple of days the office would be open and closed later to accommodate "most people".
So they updated the Sunday hours to go earlier and longer. Just because there was a perceived issue.
Where is it that any of these laws makes it "harder" to vote?
Certainly anyone would proper ID is not going to have an issue sending in a mail in ballot? Certainly anyone who can look at a website can find the proper place to vote. Certainly if they could find the time to vote in 2020, they can find the time to vote in EXTENDED hours in 2022?
Where are the problems?
Exactly?
Republicans Get a Big Win Over Stacey Abrams in Georgia Special Election
Georgia Republicans got a big win over Democrats in a special election for a state House seat on Tuesday night. Republican Devan Seabaugh defeated Democrat Priscilla Smith in the election for House District 34 with 63 percent of the vote.
Not so coincidently, The Atlanta Braves ballpark, Suntrust Stadium, is located in district 34 so the relation with MLB moving the All-Star game cannot be overstated.
The would be the first indication of a backlash against Democrat opposition to voter reform acts.
China, Russia and OPEC are taking advantage of Biden's weakness.
