New election laws continue to gain momentum as 75-80 percent of Americans now back voter ID laws

When can you tell that Democrats are losing an argument? Because they replace making an argument with tossing around rhetoric

I have no real argument, so I will just say "Jim Crow on steroids"

There have been two recent polls (Rasmussen & Gallup) that is putting the support for a national voter ID law between 75-80 percent. Meanwhile many other individual items being proposed in many of these new laws are also quite popular. Believe it or not but a vast majority of Americans want voter rolls purged of dead people and those who have moved. They want safeguards on things like same day registration.  They don't want absentee ballots in their name mailed out unless they have requested it. They actually believe that voter fraud is a concern and are in favor of laws that protect against it.

The reality is that Democrats cannot win an honest argument on the subject of these new voter laws, which is why the resort to being dishonest. Nine out of ten things that the Democrats complain about are either untrue, misrepresented, or otherwise exaggerated. The modus operandi right now is to compare the new laws (not with the old laws) but rather with the temporary measures that were put in place because of Covid. The fact is that these measures were always temporary, many of them have been retroactively declared to have been implemented illegally by the courts, and there should have been no expectation that they all would just become standard practice moving forward.

The Georgia law (for example) is a noticeable improvement pretty much across the board in comparison t the law it replaced. This issues for Democrats seem to be that these improvements are not enough and that it is time to fundamentally change how elections are run. But what Democrats and their minions want would literally push us further and further from what the American public wants.

The election law  issue is an argument that they are losing in terms of public opinion. But it may be an argument they cannot bear to lose if they want to remain in power.

I guess it would be asking too much to request a detailed analysis distinguishing why Democrats oppose SOME forms of identification requirements as distinct from ALL forms of identification requirements.

When I came to Illinois, I had to present identification (driver's license) when I first registered here to vote. Since then, I have only to present my signature.

But then I'm white.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Actually, I guess being white has nothing to do with it. In Illinois, the same rule applies to all.

This is a typical example of distraction attention.

Voters should be required to provide reasonable voter identification.

In some Republican states, the type of identity allowed, are very difficult to obtain. For example, in the highly minority neighborhoods, people don't own cars and they use subway systems to get the work and back home. Millions of people in the cities don't have driver's licenses and the other methods are costly and difficult to obtain from the state government systems. It often effects veterans and police officers who have been injured and again they don't have a driver's license! Most states don't allow military identities.

The Republicans are cutting the number of voting locations in the large cities, and districts with minority neighborhoods.

They are also allowing state legislators to direct electoral college voters to vote against the popular vote.

They are also allowing highly partisan person to count the votes, without non partisan observers.

I can back up everything I said.

I don't think the Supreme Court will ever have the political will to considered the constitutionality of section V of the Voter's rights Act. (Even the liberals considerate it Unconstitutional) so they either skirt the issue or kick the can down the road.

However, there will be a time when the southern states will bring pressure on the court to invalidate that part of the act.

160 years of being treated as a conquered province is more than enough time.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Prices for U.S. consumers jumped in June by the most in 13 years, extending a run of higher inflation and fueling concerns that the rapidly rebounding economy is making goods and services increasingly expensive.

Tuesday’s report from the Labor Department showed that consumer prices in June rose 0.9% from May and 5.4% over the past year — the sharpest 12-month inflation spike since August 2008. Excluding volatile oil and gas prices, so-called core inflation rose 4.5% in the past year, the largest increase since November 1991.

I know no state the requires identification of a voter's spouse for a voter to qualify.

In addressing the constitutionality of the Indiana law in Crawford, the federal appellate court, which was later affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court, made an interesting observation: “There is something remarkable about the plaintiffs considered as a whole. . . There is not a single plaintiff who intends not to vote because of the new law—that is, who would vote were it not for the law.” “No doubt there are at least a few such people in Indiana,” the court added, but noted that “the inability of the sponsors of this litigation to find any such person to join as a plaintiff,” suggested the real problem was not disenfranchisement.

If what the alky is claiming is true, then we should have legions of disenfranchised voters begging to join as plaintiffs.

All this represents is another chapter in the left's long history of promoting false narratives.

Without exception GOP law to reform voting procedures make the election more secure and expands access to the ballot box all at once. Measure Democrats object to are measures that make the elections less secure and more subject to fraud and more difficult to detect fraud. The fraudulent behavior includes surrogate voting, ballot harvesting, unsecured lock boxes and a not existent chain of evidence between the voter and the polling station where the votes are counted.

The Republicans are very dangerous today.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — It will come as no surprise to college educated Democrats, liberal college professors and experienced journalists that American conservative Republicans who supported Donald Trump are subject to right-wing propaganda, political manipulation and suffer from authoritarian tendencies in the name of a mixed up anti-government philosophy based on a libertarian-capitalist definition of “freedom.”

But now there is data to back it up.

The Morning Consult poll has been putting together public opinion survey results and using Political Science researcher Bob Altemeyer’s right-wing authoritarianism test and scale, building on recent work by the Monmouth University Polling Institute.

In a series of stories released Monday revealing the results of a “deep dive” to try to understand the Jan. 6 insurrection in Washington and creeping authoritarianism in America, they use a scale measuring the propensity toward right-wing authoritarian tendencies and found that many conservative Republicans scored higher than their counterparts in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Nearly one-third of Americans, 26 percent to be exact, qualified as highly right-wing authoritarian in their views, the research found, twice the share of the No. 2 countries, Canada and Australia.

“The beliefs that voter fraud decided the 2020 election, that Capitol rioters were doing more to protect than undermine the government, and that masks and vaccines are not pivotal to stopping COVID-19, were similarly prevalent among right-leaning Americans and those that scored high for right-wing authoritarianism,” Morning Consult found. “The Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol gave the country a striking wake-up call to the alarming rise in undemocratic behavior on the right side of the political aisle, and new global Morning Consult research underscores the prevalence of authoritarian attitudes among U.S. conservatives. Like Scott on January 6th day one !

My reply to Ch: See what Roger said at 10:40 above.

Well my response would be two fold.

1) Read what Rat provided regarding the lack of plaintiffs. You can argue about how many people lack voter ID - until it comes time to find one (anyone) who actually will not be able to vote.

It's one thing to flap your gums... it's another to actually prove something. Prove requires tangible examples.

2) Over 75% of Americans want to be like every other first world country and require ID. If Mexico (and all their poverty) can manage to require voter ID to vote... then certainly we can figure it out.

Bottom line: It's an argument you are losing. The fact that is is "shifting" away from "no voter ID" to "expanded voter ID" is just proof positive that the idea of walking in without ID is going to be a think of the past in a few years.

President Biden came down hard on former President Trump's attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election during his speech on voting rights in Philadelphia today.

"The big lie is just that. A big lie," Biden said.

The President talked about the level of scrutiny placed on the results of the 2020 election, pointing out that there has been no evidence found that the results were wrong.

"The 2020 election was the most scrutinized election ever in American history. Challenge after challenge brought to local, state and election officials, state legislatures, state and federal courts, even to the United States Supreme Court not once, but twice. More than 80 judges, including those appointed by my predecessor, heard the arguments. In every case neither cause nor evidence was found to undermine the national achievement of administering the historic election in the face of such extraordinary challenges," Biden said.

Biden noted that in 2020 more people voted in America — more than 150 million votes cast — than ever in the history of US elections and did so "in the middle of a once in a century pandemic."

"The big lie is just that. A big lie," Biden said.

It begins back in 2015, when the resources of the federal government were mobilized to spy on the Trump campaign, and then to frame various people close to candidate, then President Trump, and eventually to launch a full-throated criminal investigation of the Trump administration.

Cooper gets it exactly right: “The FBI/etc spied on the 2016 Trump campaign using evidence manufactured by the Clinton campaign. We now know that all involved knew it was fake from Day 1.”

Remember the Steele Dossier, the fantastical document confected by the “well-regarded” British spook Christopher Steele?

It was the only relevant predicate for ordering FISA warrants against Carter Page and other American citizens.

But the dossier was oppo research covertly paid for by the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign. It was a tissue of lies and fabrications.

Everyone involved (but not the media, which gleefully circulated and commented on it) knew all along it was garbage.

But it was nonetheless used to deploy the awesome coercive power of the state against a presidential candidate of whom the ruling bureaucracy disapproved.

It was OK to subject Carter Page and others to secret FBI investigations, to mount dawn-raids (carefully coordinated with CNN so they could televise them) against the president’s colleagues.

Cooper limns the evolution of the story: “We only learned the DNC paid for the manufactured evidence because of a court order. [James] Comey [disgraced former director of the FBI] denied on TV knowing the DNC paid for it, when we have emails from a year earlier proving that he knew.”

Penalty for that? Comey gets a huge book deal and tours the country denouncing Trump to the gleeful satisfaction of his anti-Trump audiences.

Cooper is right: what was true of Comey was true of “everyone, from CIA Dir[ector John] Brennan & Adam Schiff—who were on TV saying they’d seen clear evidence of collusion w/Russia, while admitting under oath behind closed doors that they hadn’t—all the way down the line. In the end we learned that it was ALL fake.”

It was all fake. Recollect that.

In a major speech on voting rights President Biden slammed GOP-controlled legislatures who have moved ahead with laws restricting ballot access, calling it "election subversion."

"To me, this is simple. It's election subversion. It's the most dangerous threat to voting in the integrity of free and fair elections in our history," he said.

"They want the ability to reject the final count and ignore the will of the people if their preferred candidate loses," he continued, adding that it's "unconscionable."

He compared their actions to behavior seen in autocracies around the world.

"We got to shore up our election system and address the threats to election subversion not just from abroad, which I spent time with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin talking about, but from home. From home. We must ask those who represent us at the federal, state, local level, ‘Will you ignore the will of the people? Will you ignore their voices? Are you on the side of truth or lies, fact or fiction, justice or injustice? Democracy or autocracy?' That's what it comes down to," the President said.

Biden urged Americans of every background and political party to come together to raise the urgency of this moment.

"In 2020, democracy was put to a test. First by the pandemic. Then by a desperate attempt to deny the reality of the results of the election, and then by violent and deadly insurrection on the capitol, the citadel of our democracy," he warned.

The President castigated you Scott.

Biden calls passing voting legislation ‘a national imperative’ and castigates voting restrictions based on ‘a big lie’
By Matt Viser and Seung Min Kim and Marianna Sotomayor
July 13 at 6:44 AM PDT
PHILADELPHIA — President Biden on Tuesday delivered his most forceful condemnation yet of the wave of voting restrictions proposed in Republican-led states nationwide — efforts the president argued are the biggest threat to American democracy since the Civil War.
Biden’s speech from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, in a room filled with images of Benjamin Franklin and quotes from Daniel Webster and Theodore Roosevelt, was an attempt to inject new life into flagging efforts to pass federal legislation addressing the issue.
He compared modern day laws to the voter suppression that took place under the KKK and the Jim Crow laws that imposed poll taxes, literary tests, and disenfranchised nearly all voters who were not White or male. He railed against new state laws that restrict access — calling them “raw and sustained election subversion” — and said that the 2022 midterm elections could highlight the damaging impacts of the new laws.
“This is a test of our time,” he said to a crowd of 300 civil rights advocates, top advisers, and local officials.
“Hear me clearly,” he added. “There’s an unfolding assault taking place in America today, an attempt to suppress and subvert the right to vote and fair and free elections. An assault on democracy, an assault on liberty, an assault on who we are.”
He urged Americans to channel their concern into action.
“We’re facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War,” he said. “That’s not hyperbole. Since the Civil War — the Confederates back then never breached the Capitol as insurrectionists did on January the 6th. I’m not saying this the alarm you. I’m saying this because you should be alarmed.”
Biden also mounted a robust defense of the election that led to his presidency, one that Trump and his allies have repeatedly and falsely said was conducted fraudulently.
“With recount after recount after recount, court case after court cast, the 2020 election was the most scrutinized ever,” Biden said. “The “big lie” is just that: A big lie!”
The remarks came amid a dramatic escalation around voting rights, with Democratic Texas legislators fleeing their home state to deny Republicans the quorum needed to pass new voting restrictions. Most of the state’s House Democrats flew to Washington to plead with Congress to pass new federal voting laws. Vice President Harris is scheduled to meet with them later this week, and Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday afternoon.
But there are major questions about any pathway forward for Democrats. Those in the Texas legislature can only stay away from their state for so long, and Biden has been reluctant to press for the changes to the filibuster that would be needed for his party to push through their legislative package.
[Amid growing frustration, White House pushes voting rights]
Biden also called for a “new coalition” of activists, students and leaders from the faith, labor and business communities to help bolster voter education and eventual turnout at the polls.
“We have to ask, are you on the side of truth or lies, fact or fiction, just a true injustice, democracy or autocracy?” he said. “That’s what it’s coming down to.”

Millions more people will see this than the former at the ACA terrorists speech.

Wuhan Lab Director Ordered Staff to Hush Up on COVID-19, Per State Department Cable

In January of 2020, the director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology ordered staff to “not discuss COVID-19,” according to a blog post cited in a State Department cable obtained by U.S. Right to Know.

Secrets secrets are no fun unless you share with everyone.

The cable, which states the blogger’s post “has since been blocked on social media,” adds to reports that the Chinese government ordered silence on all information pertaining to COVID-19.

The cable was just one of several records released in response to a U.S. Right to Know Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

As reported by U.S. Right to Know, other items in the records include the following.

A February 2020 cable reported that the U.S. Consulate’s South China Public Affairs Section “media contacts discussed the rumors circulating on social media that a graduate of the Wuhan Institute of Virology is patient zero of COVID-19, which has been denied by the institute.”

A March 2020 cable showed that the Chinese government has not yet conducted a Joint External Evaluation, which is a voluntary peer-review process administered by the WHO to help countries “determine their gaps and weaknesses in preparing for and responding to infectious disease risk.”

A March 2020 cable analyzed the Chinese government and affiliated media’s messaging on COVID-19.

Biden* is Of Wall Street, By Wall Street, and FOR Wall Street -

The elite wall street investment banks smashed earning expectations on Tuesday, while the American worker struggles with rising consumer good prices due to President Joe Biden’s inflation.

JPMorgan Chase posted “second-quarter earnings of $11.9 billion, or $3.78 per share, which exceeded the $3.21 estimate of analysts surveyed by Refinitiv,” CNBC reported.

Goldman Sachs also “reported second-quarter earnings of $15.02 per share, topping analysts’ expectation of $10.24 earnings per share,” CNBC continued, “The bank posted its second-best ever quarterly investment banking revenue as a rush of IPOs hit Wall Street last quarter.”

The investment banks shattering expectations comes as the American worker is shouldering inflation at a 13 year-high.

The Labor Department on Tuesday released its Consumer Price Index for June, showing that prices rose 0.9 percent in the past month. The price hike in June marked the largest 1-month increase since June 2008.

Breitbart News also reported the the consensus forecast was for a 5.0 percent gain when measured against June of 2020, which would have been tied with May, the hottest reading since skyrocketing energy prices pushed up the index in the fall of 2008.

Inflation has outrun expectations for three months in a row. The June monthly figure is the highest since June 2008, when prices increased 1 percent in a single month.

Sarah House, senior economist for Wells Fargo’s corporate and investment bank, said “inflation pressures remain more acute than appreciated and are going to be with us for a longer period.”

“Bringing back the bad memories of the 1970s, inflation has reached a three-decade high,” the CNBC continued. “The past two years’ ’emergency’ spending packages, bond buy-backs, and printed money are repeating the worst mistakes of the Carter era.”

Since President Joe Biden has taken office, prices for consumer goods have dramatically risen:

Used Cars (29 percent)
Strawberries (26 percent)
Blueberries (15 percent)
Baguette (11 percent)
Furnature (9 percent)
Olives (6 percent)
Takeout/fast food (6 percent)
Tampons (5 percent)
Flowers/plants (5 percent)
Dog treats (4 percent)
Rose wine (3 percent)
Computers (2 percent)
Craft beer (2 percent)
Milk (1.6 percent)
Bread (1.3 percent)

Trump, who had been watching Fox, was livid. He could not fathom that the conservative news network he had long considered an extension of his campaign was the first news organization to call Arizona for Biden. This was a betrayal. His top advisers, who had been in the Map Room at the time, rushed upstairs to see the president. Giuliani followed them.
“They’re calling it way too early,” Oczkowski told Trump. “This thing is close. We still think we’ll win narrowly — and not just us. Doug Ducey’s modeling people show us winning.” Ducey, Arizona’s Republican governor, and his political team had kept in close contact with Trump’s aides.
That hardly reassured the president. “What the f--- is Fox doing?” Trump screamed. Then he barked orders to Kushner: “Call Rupert! Call James and Lachlan!” And to Jason Miller: “Get Sammon. Get Hemmer. They’ve got to reverse this.” The president was referring to Fox owner Rupert Murdoch and his sons, James and Lachlan, as well as Bill Sammon, a top news executive at Fox.
Trump’s tirade continued. “What the f---?” he bellowed. “What the f--- are these guys doing? How could they call this this early?”
Oczkowski again tried to soothe the president. “They’re calling this way too early,” he said. “This is unbelievable.”

Biden Says American Democracy Is Under Siege

July 13, 2021 at 4:05 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“President Biden on Tuesday delivered his most forceful condemnation yet of the wave of voting restrictions proposed in Republican-led states nationwide — efforts the president argued are the biggest threat to American democracy since the Civil War,” the Washington Post reports.

“He compared modern day laws to the voter suppression that took place under the KKK and the Jim Crow laws that imposed poll taxes, literary tests, and disenfranchised nearly all voters who were not White or male. He railed against new state laws that restrict access — calling them “raw and sustained election subversion” — and said that the 2022 midterm elections could highlight the damaging impacts of the new laws.

Said Biden:
“Hear me clearly. There’s an unfolding assault taking place in America today, an attempt to suppress and subvert the right to vote and fair and free elections. An assault on democracy, an assault on liberty, an assault on who we are.”

New Evidence Indicates Enough Illegal Votes In Georgia To Tip 2020 Results

In Georgia, there was both an audit and a statewide recount confirming Biden’s victory, but ignored in the process was evidence that nearly 35,000 Georgians had potentially voted illegally.
Margot ClevelandBy Margot Cleveland
JULY 9, 2021
New evidence indicates that more than 10,300 illegal votes were cast in Georgia in the November 2020 general election — a number that will continue to rise over the next several months, potentially exceeding the 12,670 votes that separated Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

While this evidence does not change the fact that Joe Biden is our president, all Americans who genuinely care about free and fair elections and the disenfranchisement of voters should demand both transparency and solutions to prevent a repeat in future elections. This evidence also vindicates former President Trump and his legal team for the related public (and private) comments and legal arguments made in challenging the Georgia election results.

Under the cover of COVID-19, Georgia, like many other states, flooded residents with absentee ballot applications. Also like sister states, Georgia ignored various legislative mandates designed to prevent fraud and to ensure the integrity of the vote. These facts, coupled with the closeness of the presidential contest in Georgia and other states, led to a flurry of accusations and litigation charging vote fraud, illegal voting, and violations of the Elector’s Clause of the constitution. continues

BOMBSHELL: Potential 1/6 Fed Seen Appearing To Beat Cops, Pro-Trump Crowd Outed As FAKE Proud Boy
Is this man being protected by the government?

National File recently obtained exclusive footage and photos of the assault on the doors of the Capitol building leading to the inaugural stage, depicting individuals who were potentially working with or for the FBI, local police, or federal law enforcement observing, instigating, and participating in the violence on January 6. One man depicted in the photos and footage used a pole to attack law enforcement towards the doors of the Capitol building on the inaugural stage. After being stopped by a Trump supporter who attempted to retrieve the pole seemingly in order to de-escalate the violence, the individual proceeded to kick him in the face.

At the time of the article’s publication, the man’s identity was unknown, as National File had exhaustively searched the FBI records regarding January 6 suspects, and media reports detailing those who have been arrested, and could not find an individual matching the description of the man seen in the images and videos. However, as a result of an FBI, leftist, and antifa sympathizer on Twitter who posted a thread regarding the individual on March 17, the violent man appears to have been identified as a Proud Boys impersonator David Dempsey.

23 High-Ranking Officials in Biden Administration All Came from the Same Shadowy Firm

Many of the highest-ranking members of the Biden administration came from the same shadowy firm. It is a relatively new name among revolving-door power brokers in Washington D.C., which makes it all the more surprising.

Founded in 2017, WestExec describes itself as a “diverse group of senior national security professionals with the most recent experience at the highest levels of the U.S. government. With deep knowledge and networks in the fields of defense, foreign policy, intelligence, cybersecurity, international economics, and strategic communications, our team has worked together around the White House Situation Room table, deliberating and deciding our nation’s foreign and national security policies.”

WestExec Advisors gets its name from “West Executive Avenue,” which the official site says is “the closed street that runs between the West Wing of the White House and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. It is, quite literally, the road to the Situation Room, and it is the road everyone associated with WestExec Advisors has crossed many times en route to meetings of the highest national security consequence.”

At least we can rest easy that it hasn’t been President Joe Biden who has been calling the shots. But a closer look at WestExec Advisers finds that it manages portfolios for some of the biggest companies in the world, drawing concerns about private companies co-opting U.S. security and intelligence policies. However, WestExec does not publicly disclose the names of its clients, only describing them in broad terms.

“The insularity of this network of policymakers poses concerns about the potential for groupthink, conflicts of interest, and what can only be called, however oxymoronically, legalized corruption,” The Intercept/American Prospect noted on WestExec’s influence. “The private sector can in essence co-opt the public sector.”

WestExec has staffed the administration with over 23 of its executives, who have sprawled out across the national security and intelligence apparatus. The Intercept and The American Prospect dug into these profiles, and some of the biggest names in government are among them, including:

Tony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State; Co-founder and managing partner of WestExec
Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence; Principal
David S. Cohen, Deputy Director at the CIA; Principal
Lisa Monaco, Deputy Attorney General; Principal
Chris Inglis, National Cyber Director; Principal
Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary; Senior Adviser
Ely Ratner, Asst. Sec. of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs; Senior Adviser

JamesNewLeaf's Fucking Daddy said...

t is an impressive list, as concerning as it might be that one security cabal could singlehandedly consolidate such influence in one presidential administration. But the list isn’t finished yet.

Colin Thomas-Jensen, National Security Director for USAID; Senior Adviser
Michael Camilleri, Sr. Adviser to USAID Admin.; Senior Adviser
Gabrielle Chefitz, Special Asst. to Under Sec. of Defense for Policy; Senior Associate
Julianne Smith, Senior Adviser to Sec. of State; Senior Adviser
Barbara Leaf, Senior Director for Middle East, NSC; Senior Adviser
Elizabeth Rosenberg, Counselor to Deputy Sec. of Treasury; Senior Advisor
Matt Olsen, Asst. Attorney General; Principal

These weren’t all the Biden advisers and Biden/Harris transition team members listed in the report.

“The WestExec to Biden administration pipeline, part two. Not pictured: senior adviser to the domestic policy adviser Erin Pelton; director of scheduling for the secretary of state Sarah McCool; nominee for assistant secretary of defense Celeste Wallander; Biden-Harris transition team advisers Andrea Kendall-Taylor, Cristina Killingsworth, Jay Shambaugh, and Puneet Talwar; deputy director for the U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission John Costello; and vice chair of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence Robert O. Work.”

Did you think that must be it? Wrong. There are even more in mid-tier positions throughout the administration.

“Even Bidenworld’s backbenchers are entangled in the firm,” the Intercept/American Prospect report states. “The Biden-Harris transition team was advised by WestExec consultants Andrea Kendall-Taylor, Puneet Talwar, Jay Shambaugh, and Cristina Killingsworth. Further, the firm’s members oversee influential nonpartisan federal commissions: Robert O. Work at the National Security Commission for Artificial Intelligence and John Costello at the Cyberspace Solarium Commission.”

That makes for at least thirty executives from one shadowy firm that has spread its tentacles around a single presidential administration. If that isn’t a ‘takeover’ of the U.S. government, then what is?

Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec is back with his newest book. The Antifa: Stories from Inside the Black Bloc (BUY IT HERE) looks at a group that has done more than any other to shape the ground tactics of the modern left, yet which remains quite mysterious thanks to the deliberate obtuseness of the professional press. Even though Antifa is present in almost every major American city and regularly riots, loots, and burns, the press has often tried to claim that Antifa doesn’t even exist.

Revolver spoke with Posobiec about his discoveries researching the group and its tactics up close.

Revolver: At the very beginning of your book, you describe President Trump repeatedly clashing with FBI Director Christopher Wray over targeting antifa more forcefully. Wray reportedly told the president that going after Antifa was unacceptable because it was a “political ideology,” yet his FBI had no problem going after even peaceful MAGA supporters in the wake of January 6. How do you think a future Republican president could reform the bureaucracy to prevent a repeat of this?

Jack Posobiec: In my own time serving in the intelligence community, I saw the stark difference between military intelligence, where I got my start, and civilian intelligence, where I ended up. I’ve had the misfortune to work with just about every 3-letter agency in the government both in their DC area headquarters and while deployed. My area focus was mainly East Asia with my Mandarin background, but I also spent a tour at Guantanamo Bay in the detainee interrogation operations center.

For the most part, as intel goes from its most raw form at the point of collection in the field, it becomes more watered down and co-opted by politics as it moves along the chain to DC.

While the vast majority of military intel analysts and officers are patriotic and sign up for the right reasons (as I like to think I did), they are beholden to a politicized civilian leadership and an increasingly subverted general officer corps.

Enable

We went from General Patton to General Milley in just one generation.

A true overhaul of the US government’s bureaucracy would start with firing every SES-level civil servant all the way down to GS-13, as well as anyone in a management track. This is precisely what Bolsonaro did when he was first elected, purging hundreds of ideological government functionaries. While this tactic is unlikely for an American president, let alone a Republican, there may be space for a populist-conservative to be elected with a voting bloc in Congress that targets specific agencies and Beltway slush-funds for summary termination.

This would entail a Church Committee-style auditing of the national security agencies, the military (particularly the War Colleges), and the connections between the bureaucracy and front groups in DC such as think tanks that are funded by corporate and foreign interests.

The legislative backstop would be required here for the US Congress to re-assume its oversight role of the federal government, and the eradication of any policy or program that is not deemed in the national interest of the United States, of which there are many.  An undertaking of such proportion must be underpinned by a movement that rejects the distorted moral framework of the elites and radical Left in favor of traditional American values. In this sense, Antifa is a symptom of elite corruption rather than a cause of it.

What the GOP is really after in Texas
Opinion by Paul Begala
Updated 11:40 AM ET, Tue July 13, 2021
Hear why some Texas lawmakers are vowing to stay out of their state until August 7

(CNN)Texas has a lot of crises:
• An electric reliability crisis: millions of Texans lost power in February during a frigid winter storm earlier this year. At least 194 died as a result -- though some reports suggest the number is far higher, as many as 700;

• A health insurance crisis: In 2020, about 5 million Texans (29% of the whole state) lacked health insurance -- the highest percentage of uninsured in America;

• A rural hospital crisis: Texas leads the nation in rural hospital closures (a function of GOP leaders being unwilling to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act);

• A gun violence crisis: Texas loses more people to gun violence than any other state -- 3,353 gun-related deaths per year, according to the gun safety group Texas Gun Sense.

But the Texas Legislature -- under the total control of Republicans for nearly two decades -- isn't doing a lot to solve any of those crises. (In fairness, the GOP-led Legislature did pass a law they claim will reform the electrical distribution system, but even the bill's sponsor seemed to admit it was not adequate. "There's more to be done," State Rep. Chris Paddie said. The GOP also passed a multibillion-dollar "blackout bailout" for power companies, so if you think big corporations need more of your money, you should be happy about that).

While the Texas GOP does little or nothing about these very real, life-or-death crises, they are instead fixating on advancing the Big Lie. On June 22, Republican Gov. Greg Abbot (a likely future GOP presidential candidate) summoned lawmakers into a special session to pass a law restricting voting rights. The allegations of rampant voter fraud, as the indispensable folks at the Brennan Center have reported, is itself a fraud. It is more likely, the center notes, that an American "will be struck by lightning than that he will impersonate another voter at the polls."

Indeed, The Texas Attorney General's office spent more than 22,000 hours working on voter fraud cases (according to an open records request obtained by governmental watchdog, American Oversight, and published in December of last year). They resolved just 16 cases. All 16 of those cases were for a minor violation -- giving a false address on a registration form, and none resulted in jail time. Thus far, the Texas voter fraud police have come up with virtually nothing.

But wait, breaking news:

It seems objectively true that the media’s portrayal of 1/6 underplayed how bad it was. Have folks not seen all the subsequent body cam footage, the NYT’s project, the details in some of these charging docs? It was BAD. And the press couldn’t appreciate how bad in the moment.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has one more case: Hervis Rogers. Rogers had been convicted of burglary decades ago. He served his time and was released on parole. On Super Tuesday last year, Rogers waited about six hours to vote. In fact, he was the last person to vote in his polling center, a fact highlighted at the time by CNN's Ed Lavendera. Standing outside his polling place at Texas Southern University, a historically Black university, Rogers told Lavendera, "I figured like it was my duty to vote. I wanted to get my vote in to voice my opinion. And I wasn't going to let nothing stop me."

Turns out, in doing so, Rogers was committing a crime. Texas has made it a felony for folks on parole to knowingly vote. Rogers has been indicted, hit with $100,000 bail and faces up to 40 years in prison. But this is not fraud. It is quite likely an innocent mistake. As State Sen. Boris Miles of Houston told the Washington Post, Rogers "was under the belief in his mind that he really could (legally vote). Served his time, got a nice job, nice family, now, thought he could vote, just thought he was doing his civic duty."

Fun fact:
If you want to meet a Texan who has actually been indicted for serious fraud, check out the Texas Attorney General himself. Paxton has been under indictment for six long years for fraud. "If convicted," the Texas Tribune reports, "Paxton could face up to 99 years in prison."

Instead of wasting 22,000 hours searching for fraud by the voters who elected him, all Paxton needed to do was look in the mirror.
(Paxton has denied any wrongdoing.)

This is diversion by division.
They cannot take on the gun lobby.
They dare not take on insurance companies.
They will not boldly take on the energy industry.
So, they distract Texans by dividing them.

It is a tried-and-true tactic -- especially in the South:
Divide White working people
from Black and brown working people
and hope they don't notice you're screwing ALL OF THEM.

Texas House Democrats, small in numbers but mighty in heart, are not taking this lying down. As they did in May -- the last time the GOP was poised to pass a voter suppression law -- they have walked out. Well, this time they flew out. House Democrats boarded a plane and took off for Washington.

I caught up with Texas House Democratic Caucus Chairperson Chris Turner as they stopped to refuel in Tennessee, on their way to Washington, DC. "This is an extraordinary move, no question," he told me. "But our Democratic members believe there are already terrible restrictions on voting in Texas. The idea that they (Republican leaders) are going to pass more is outrageous." Turner says the GOP has been unable to cite a single instance of abuse in pro-turnout activities like 24-hour voting, which the GOP bill would bar.

Republicans have dominated Texas politics since the early 1990s, amassing an unbroken streak of statewide electoral victories for a quarter century.

Why would a party that is winning elections suggest the elections they have won were somehow fraudulent?

Turner says it's not about the elections they have won in the past, but about those they fear they'll lose in the future: "Republicans know," he said, "that if more Texans vote, they lose. Simple as that."

Turner and his band of bravehearts know that, over time, the GOP is likely to prevail. But they're playing for time. If they can convince Democrats in Washington to restore the Justice Department's ability to block racially discriminatory voting changes -- which they can do by passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act -- they will have won a major victory.

Twitter restricts account of expert who mocked China leader

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — A New Zealand academic says Twitter temporarily restricted her account after she mocked Chinese President Xi Jinping.

University of Canterbury Professor Anne-Marie Brady is an expert on China’s attempts to exert political influence around the world and has been an outspoken critic of its ruling Communist Party. Last week, she sent tweets poking fun at the party’s 100th anniversary celebrations.

She said two of those tweets were temporarily marked “unavailable” by Twitter and her account was temporarily restricted over the weekend, before it was restored on Monday.

Twitter did not say what prompted its actions.

Edward Lucas, a columnist for The Times newspaper in Britain, wrote that it probably resulted from an online campaign of complaints by Communist Party agents which would have triggered an automatic response from Twitter while it investigated.

“After I had stoked a furor on Twitter and sent umpteen complaints, her account was restored,” Lucas wrote. “Less prominent victims of Chinese censorship would have scantier chances of redress.”

Brady tweeted her thanks to Lucas, saying that she’d been unable to get a reply from Twitter herself.

“Seems like @Twitter may have briefly forgotten they don’t work for Xi Jinping,” Brady wrote.

In a statement, Twitter said that when it detects unusual activity from an account, it can sometimes add temporary notices until it gets confirmation from the account owner.

“To set the record straight, the assertion that Twitter is in coordination with any government to suppress speech has no basis in fact whatsoever,” Twitter said. “We advocate for a free, global and open internet and remain a staunch defender of freedom of expression.”

Brady’s tweets made fun of the lack of international validation of the centenary. Russian President Vladimir Putin was among the few leaders who sent congratulations to China.

In one tweet, Brady suggested an alternative headline for a news article about the celebrations: “Xi: its my Party and I’ll cry if I want to,” she wrote.

Brady said her account has been restored. “Opening my work laptop this morning I was greeted by a “Welcome back” message on my screen from @Twitter, as if I was the one who left them,” she wrote.

She wrote that Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Zoom and other big players in social media appeared to be getting into the habit of silencing Communist Party critics.

In 2017, Brady wrote a groundbreaking paper “Magic Weapons” which detailed what she said were the Communist Party’s efforts to exert political influence in New Zealand. Subsequent burglaries and break-ins at her home and office remain unsolved.

The Chinese Embassy in Wellington did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Chinese government has not commented on any action online against Brady and has heatedly denied accusations that it interferes with foreign media and political systems.

However, under Xi, who is also leader of the Chinese Communist Party, the government has taken an increasingly combative approach toward its critics, whether individuals, organizations or foreign governments.

June 2021 was the fifth-warmest June – and the warmest for Earth’s land areas – since global record-keeping began in 1880, 0.88 degrees Celsius (1.58°F) above the 20th-century average, NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information, NCEI, reported July 13. NASA rated the month the third warmest June on record, 1.13 degrees Celsius (2.03°F) above the 1880-1920 period, which is their best estimate of preindustrial temperature.

The relative coolness of June, by recent standards, was partially the result of the lingering effect of a La Niña event in the Eastern Pacific that had dissipated earlier in the year: Its cool waters limited global ocean temperatures to their sixth warmest June on record, while global land areas experienced their warmest June on record. North America and Africa had their hottest June on record; Europe and Asia had their second hottest June on record.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Mr. Trump had won far more votes than his team projected, with surprising support from Black and Hispanic men. He was immediately the runaway favorite for the party’s 2024 nomination, and Ms. Hicks was expressing that vibe with her suggestion for a jaunty curtain call. But around the table in a glass-encased conference room, the eldest Trump sons channeled their father’s reaction. “What you’re talking about isn’t even an option,” responded Donald Trump, Jr., who had called into the meeting. “It’s a nonstarter,” Eric Trump added.

Ms. Hicks wasn’t an outlier, however. After the election was called, Trump World mostly assumed that the president would behave rationally at the end of the day. Vice President Mike Pence and Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, both met with Mr. Trump in early November and separately told others that he just needed space to process the loss. Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter and a senior adviser, left some White House officials with the hope her father would invite Mr. Biden to the West Wing.

President Trump and his children Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump make their way to board Air Force One, Jan. 4.PHOTO: MANDEL NGAN/AFP/GETTY IMAGES

But Mr. Trump wasn’t interested in taking a bow. The decision from his team to give him space only created an opening for outside advisers like Rudy Giuliani, and behind the scenes, Mr. Trump was frantically moving personnel in and out of the administration.

Early on, he attempted to oust Attorney General William Barr. By mid-November, the president secretly offered Mr. Barr’s job to John Ratcliffe, the director of national intelligence. Running the Justice Department was Mr. Ratcliffe’s dream job in Washington, but not like this. If Mr. Ratcliffe accepted, he’d be expected to refute the same briefings he’d provided the president as national intelligence director, which stated that no foreign powers had conspired to corrupt the nation’s voting machines. He turned it down.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Mr. Barr, meanwhile, had reached his breaking point. On Dec. 1, he was meeting with White House counsel Pat Cipollone when they were summoned to the Oval Office. Both knew the sudden meeting was about Mr. Barr’s declaration earlier that day that there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud, contradicting the president’s claims. The two attorneys briefly discussed, only half-jokingly, whether Mr. Barr should hotfoot it for the exits.

Mr. Trump erupted as soon as Mr. Barr walked in the room, ripping through a greatest hits reel of debunked claims of fraud and a more historical inventory of grievances. But the attorney general made clear that he wouldn’t subject himself—or his agency—to repeated insults and accusations, and White House officials panicked that he was about to quit. The West Wing had mostly emptied by December, and some viewed Mr. Barr as one of the few remaining adult voices in the administration. Others knew it was a better look for Mr. Trump to push someone out than to have them walk away.

Mr. Barr left the West Wing. His black sedan was pulling out of the parking lot when Mr. Cipollone suddenly appeared and banged his hand on the back window. The White House attorney climbed into the car and cautioned against making any rash decisions. Mr. Barr agreed. But he regretted it, and resigned two weeks later.

‘The crazies have taken over,’ Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned a colleague.

By then, the president was personally phoning U.S. attorneys—against Justice Department protocol—urging them to focus on election fraud. He’d replaced a lineup of veteran defense and intelligence officials with inexperienced loyalists hungry to appease the boss. Gen. Mark Milley asked some Pentagon officials whether the new hires had ties to neo-Nazi groups.

“The crazies have taken over,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned a colleague. Privately, the nation’s top diplomat worried that foreign adversaries might try to exploit the domestic instability. He conveyed concern to others that Mr. Trump might be more willing to engage in an international conflict to strengthen his political argument for remaining in office. Mr. Pompeo organized a daily call with Gen. Milley and Mark Meadows, the White House chief of staff.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The backlash against Mr. Trump was immediate. He was suspended from Twitter and Facebook the next day. A flood of White House officials resigned. The House impeached him on Jan. 13 for inciting an insurrection—becoming the only president to be impeached twice—in a bipartisan vote that included support from 10 Republicans. Top Republicans both inside and outside of Trump World believed that the man who had positioned himself as the party’s kingmaker—potentially for the next decade—was now finished.

But days after Mr. Trump left office, polls showed that he maintained high levels of support inside his party. House Republicans who had voted to impeach him found themselves the target of censure and primary challenges. Republican leaders made plans to visit him at Mar-a-Lago—a steady stream of supplicants bowing before their exiled king.

Trump said whoever 'leaked' info on his White House bunker stay should be 'executed,' new book claims
By Devan Cole, CNN
Updated Jul 13, 2021
Washington (CNN) - Then-President Donald Trump told a number of his advisers in 2020 that whoever leaked information about his stay in the White House bunker in May of that year had committed treason and should be executed for sharing details about the episode with members of the press, according to excerpts of a new book, obtained by CNN, from Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Bender.
Trump, along with then-first lady Melania Trump and their son, Barron, were all taken to the underground bunker for a period of time during the protests spurred by the police killing of George Floyd as protesters gathered outside the building. Bender writes in the book, titled "Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost," that Trump, in the days following his time in the bunker, held a tense meeting with top military, law enforcement and West Wing advisers, in which he aired grievances over the leak.

"Trump boiled over about the bunker story as soon as they arrived and shouted at them to smoke out whoever had leaked it. It was the most upset some aides had ever seen the president," Bender writes.
"'Whoever did that, they should be charged with treason!' Trump yelled. 'They should be executed!'" the book reads.
Then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows "repeatedly tried to calm the president as startled aides avoided eye contact," Bender writes, adding that Trump's top aide told his boss: "I'm on it. We're going to find out who did it."
Trump, angry over the leak for days, "repeatedly asked Meadows if he'd found the leaker," with his top aide becoming "obsessed" with finding the source, according to the book, which noted that "those who said they'd heard the president issue that warning had interpreted the outburst as a sign of a president in panic."

Liz Harrington, Trump's chief spokeswoman, rejected the account in Bender's book to CNN on Tuesday, saying in a statement that the former President "never said this or suggested it to anyone."
CNN reported at the time that Trump had been taken to the bunker and was there for a little under an hour before being brought upstairs. A source familiar with the matter had also told CNN that "if the condition at the White House is elevated to RED and the President is moved" to the Emergency Operations Center "Melania Trump, Barron Trump and any other first family members would be moved as well."
At the time, the White House had also cautioned staffers who had to go to work the Monday after the bunker was used to hide their passes until they reach a Secret Service entry point and to hide them as they left, according to an email which was viewed by CNN.

Trump had attempted to publicly downplay the trip in the days that followed, seeking in a radio interview at the time to explain his presence in the bunker as an "inspection" -- rather than a retreat for his own safety.

He said:

The assault on free and fair elections is just such a threat — literally. I’ve said it before. We’re facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War. It’s not hyperbole — since the Civil War. Confederates, back then, never breached the Capitol as insurrectionists did on January 6. I’m not saying this to alarm you. I’m saying this because you should be alarmed.

While it is true Confederate soldiers never breached the U.S. Capitol, the Civil War was the nation’s bloodiest war, with an estimated 750,000 deaths.

The only person who died as a direct result of violence in the January 6 riot was Ashli Babbitt, a United States Air Force veteran. She was unarmed when she was fatally shot by a Capitol Police officer as she climbed through a broken door into the Speaker’s Lobby.

Three other people who died had medical emergencies, and Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick suffered two strokes at the base of his brainstem as a result of a blood clot in an artery the day after the riot, Breitbart News reported.

Before his “not-hyperbole,” Biden said that “bullies and merchants of fear and peddlers of lies are threatening the very foundation of our country,” in reference to the GOP.

He continued:

I never thought in my entire career I would have to say it. But I swore an oath to you and to God to preserve protect and defend the Constitution. That’s an oath that forms a sacred trust to defend America against all threats both foreign and domestic.

Biden’s remarks came after Texas Democrats fled their state on Monday in protest against election integrity measures. The lawmakers were seen “gleefully smiling en route to D.C. with a case of beer, which requires a photo ID to purchase,” Breitbart News reported.

The Biden Admin is now planning to release a list of conservative social media influencers that were followed by J6 defendants that questioned the integrity of the 2020 election. The list also includes Members of Congress, per WH official.

The database they are reportedly building partly consists of Pepe, Soy Boy & Carpe Donktum Memes

WH Comment: “They’re using any bit of material they can online or otherwise to use as ‘proof of radicalization.’ Printed pages of Telegram & Discord conversations numbering in the thousands, YouTube comments…whatever, look for this in early Sept.”

"Wray is pushing it. Garland wants to focus on guns and hate crime, but Ron K, Jill, Chuck, and Nancy want him to take care of 'Trump Terrorists' behind J6. Biden going along with it for now."

Unbelievable

What "unifiers"

maybe they will be rounded up and put into solitary confinement

THE FIRST WHITE PRESIDENT

The foundation of Donald Trump’s presidency is the negation of Barack Obama’s legacy.

By Ta-Nehisi Coates

OCTOBER 2017 ISSUE

SHARE

IT IS INSUFFICIENT TO STATE the obvious of Donald Trump: that he is a white man who would not be president were it not for this fact. With one immediate exception, Trump’s predecessors made their way to high office through the passive power of whiteness—that bloody heirloom which cannot ensure mastery of all events but can conjure a tailwind for most of them. Land theft and human plunder cleared the grounds for Trump’s forefathers and barred others from it. Once upon the field, these men became soldiers, statesmen, and scholars; held court in Paris; presided at Princeton; advanced into the Wilderness and then into the White House. Their individual triumphs made this exclusive party seem above America’s founding sins, and it was forgotten that the former was in fact bound to the latter, that all their victories had transpired on cleared grounds. No such elegant detachment can be attributed to Donald Trump—a president who, more than any other, has made the awful inheritance explicit.

Red State Exploded today.

Unlike many of his past speeches, the story wasn’t Biden’s brain breaking down as he attempted to read the teleprompter. Sure, there were moments where he looked as if he were going to pass out, but it was the substance that was far more disturbing.

The basis of Biden’s speech was the idea that Republicans are trying to stop minorities from voting by having normal standards for the election systems in their respective states. Texas is currently in the crosshairs by daring to attempt to outlaw ballot harvesting and no-request absentee ballots. If you’ve been reading RedState the last day, then you know about Texas Democrats fleeing the state in a ridiculous gambit to deny the Republican majority a quorum to vote.

Anyway, let’s get into it, and be warned, these clips may make you want to gouge your eyes out.

Of note here is that Biden is channeling Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels by using the phrase “big lie” to disparage Republicans who have concerns about the 2020 election. Yet, despite the phrase’s murderous, anti-Semitic past, the president seems to have no problem saying it repeatedly. In doing so, he echoed CNN’s Jake Tapper and others who have also been fond of the phrase.

But the lies today were not from Republicans. Rather, they were from Biden, including these ludicrous assertions.

There’s no evidence of any of that whatsoever. To the extent that there are guardrails being put in place in some states to prevent voter fraud (but mostly just returning to the pre-2020 status quo), those guardrails apply to everyone equally. Nothing about the laws somehow targets black people more than others. Democrats are only saying that because they have no substantive arguments against these various election integrity bills.

When Biden mentions “receiving ballots,” what he’s complaining about is Texas not allowing third-party groups to blast out absentee ballots to those that didn’t even request them. There is no logical reason that needs to be done, and doing so is a ripe breeding ground for ballot harvesting as we’ve seen in California.

The lies continued apace.

Jim Crow laws literally stopped only a certain race of people from voting, not indirectly, but directly. There is zero comparison between requiring voter ID of all voters, for example, and Jim Crow laws. That Biden continues to make that comparison is just as bad and disgusting as when someone makes a bad Holocaust comparison. Yet, the media only freak out about the latter. We all know why, but it doesn’t make it any less jarring. When Biden says this garbage, it’s a slap in the face to people who faced actual oppression. Outlawing drive-through voting, something that didn’t even exist until recently in Texas, and only in a few Democrat-led counties, is not Jim Crow.

Biden wasn’t done, though. Eventually, he just went full-blown nuts.

I'm sure the few remaining WWII veterans would disagree.

As would the majority of sensible thinking adult Americans (even the Washington Post distanced itself)

The problem here is the hysteria is not spontaneous. Someone in his administration thought that was a good idea.

f Donald Trump seems like a distant, bad dream, Michael Wolff’s pacily readable account of his last months as president warns that we shouldn’t write him off yet. This is the US journalist’s third book on the Trump administration — after Fire and Fury and Siege — and it uncovers new depths of dysfunction there. Wolff had peerless access to the White House operation and has an enviable ability to put us in the room. And as he says, that room closely resembled the cantina scene in the first Star Wars movie.

As the mad king’s court, buffeted by Covid and BLM protests, slides through a losing election into denial of reality, incitement to insurrection and a second impeachment, the main players are augmented and at times obscured by a collection of misfits, oddballs, grifters and wackos. The Trump children get few mentions, Melania only two.

Even the orange ogre himself is often felt rather than seen, through the reaction of aides to his raging tweets, phone calls and lashings out. Trump’s own brush with Covid is rushed over, and Joe Biden features only as a paper demon to be overcome. There’s no talk of policy because there is no coherent policy, just an obsession with winning, slavish loyalty and media spin.

Trump takes to data analyst Matt Oczkowski because his nickname is Oz (“like the Wizard”) but Oz is apparently never seen again after Fox News calls Arizona for Biden: because by then the Trump White House “had left behind the world of actual vote counting and empirical data”. When people start deserting Trump in the wake of the election defeat he won’t acknowledge, Wolff takes delight in the fact that Hope Hicks, the spokeswoman who “reliably calmed the president”, is among their number: “Hope was gone.”

January 6th was a custom setup.

The most radical and mendacious president in American history, Barack Obama, established the precedent that virtually every attack on conservatives or Republicans is framed in implacable racism and white supremacy.  With the election of Donald Trump, these outright fabrications dramatically accelerated and were extended to include anyone who supported or voted for Trump.

The only thing missing was an incident that could be hyperbolically exploited into a justification for unleashing the police powers of the government against conservatives, Republican politicians, and supporters of Donald Trump.  January 6, 2021, became that incident.

Much Evidence that January 6, 2021 was a Calculated Set-Up

By Steve McCann

Political persecution and isolation of vast swaths of the citizenry by the Justice Department, the Intelligence Community, and the Judiciary in the wake of the January 6, 2021, Capitol incursion should bring a chill down the spine of every American. This same troika, but with different nomenclature, was mobilized by 20th Century despots to eliminate their political enemies and establish a police state.

(I attended the January 6, 2021 rally at the U.S. Capitol and observed first-hand what the media and the Democrats have falsely and with malice claimed was an “armed insurrection.”)

The initial step in consolidating power is to incessantly demonize as enemies of the state one’s political opponents.  The second is to isolate and delegitimize them by either staging or so exaggerating an incident that any and all steps to quash them are acceptable in order to “save the nation.”  Therefore, the question is: was January 6th pre-planned by legitimate Trump supporters, was it spontaneous or was it a calculated

The American Left and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, the Democrat party and the agitprop media (previously known as the mainstream media), have for the past 12 years cast conservatives and Republicans as promoters of “white supremacy.”  It was the Department of Homeland Security, at the behest of Barack Obama, who actually
was born in Kenya Africa, that first declared in April of 2009 that right-wing terrorism or white supremacy was the greatest threat facing America.  Despite the fact the number of actual white supremacists is minuscule.

Jenna Ellis, a senior legal adviser to former President Donald Trump's 2020 campaign, said on Monday she is leaving the Republican Party in protest following the disclosure of an email from a top Republican National Committee lawyer criticizing her efforts in challenging the results of the November contest.

Ellis made the announcement on Real America's Voice and called on RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and other members to "resign now" to create a clean slate, adding she would not return until they do.

She also questioned what happened to the "millions raised" by the RNC in November and December of last year when the election challenges were playing out, saying, "the Trump team never saw a dime of that help."

"I am leaving the Republican Party until the Republican Party comes back home to conservatives," she said during an follow-up appearance on Newsmax, on which she is a contributor.

Republicans have learned to love the insurrection because they can’t afford to cross Trump

Trump’s recent focus on Ashli Babbitt makes very clear that lies about the 2020 election will be central to his political identity — and that of the Republican Party he dominates — going forward.

The lie Trump has been pushing is that Babbitt and the rest of the January 6 insurrectionists had good reason to attack Congress that day, because the election was stolen from him. And while there’s no evidence to back that up, Trump’s speech Sunday afternoon at CPAC Dallas — an event where he dominated the presidential straw poll — demonstrated he’s not above just making stuff up.

“You saw what happened in Georgia the other day. They found 35,000 votes,” Trump said, mischaracterizing a recent article from a right-wing publication about voters who may have moved from one Georgia county to another outside of a statutory 30-day grace period — hardly the type of politically motivated fraud Republicans have been fear-mongering about.

“Then they deleted, in Georgia, over 100,000 votes, because they were so bad, voters,” Trump continued, referring to the state’s recent routine move to purge 100,000 names from voter registration rolls.

For Trump, evidence or lack thereof isn’t important — what matters is that enough Republican voters buy his lies about the election so that it’s impossible for those who don’t indulge them to stay in the party. The purge appears to be succeeding. Consider Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who lost her spot in House leadership because she voted for Trump’s impeachment, or even Trump’s boasts at CPAC about how Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) can’t walk down the streets in his home state without being harassed by Trump supporters who are upset with his vote to convict Trump.

But diatribes about voter rolls and voting machines don’t have the same emotional impact as the story of Babbitt. After all, many Trump supporters probably see elements of themselves in her, as a veteran who was radicalized by viral conspiracy theories.

Turning Babbitt into the MAGA version of Horst Wessel has become a central theme of Trump’s return to public life. And her ascension to martyr status symbolizes how, now more than ever, Trumpism stands in opposition to free and fair elections.

5 ways the West is struggling to cope with historic heat waves
Christopher Wilson and Chloe Xiang
Mon, July 12, 2021, 9:58 PM
The summer of 2021 has been brutal in the western portions of North America, as oppressive heat has resulted in record high temperatures, extreme drought, raging wildfires and death.

Over the past month, record high temperatures have been reached at the airports in Las Vegas (117 degrees Fahrenheit) and Seattle-Tacoma (108), while it’s likely the record high for the state of Utah was also tied (117). Portland, Ore., broke its record high for three consecutive days in late June, eventually reaching 116 (the previous high, 107, was set in 1965). Canada had the same distinction, with the record climbing to 121, shattering the previous mark of 113 set in 1937.

As fighting climate change has emerged as a central issue in the negotiations on President Biden’s infrastructure bill, millions of Americans have struggled in recent weeks as unprecedented heat domes made worse by global warming have settled over the West. The historic heat wave, scientists agree, is linked to climate change, and comes one month after a draft report by the United Nations warned that “the worst is yet to come.” The present reality across much of the West, however, is proving to be its own challenge.

Here are a few aspects of the climate disaster from the last few weeks.

Hundreds of heat-related deaths

Hundreds of deaths have been attributed to the record-breaking temperatures that scorched Oregon, Washington and British Columbia the last week of June. These areas, where average temperatures are usually in the 70s this time of year, were left unprepared to face the heat, which proved fatal for many residents.

Officials in Oregon put the death toll at 116, with most occurring in Multnomah County, the state’s most populous county, where officials say many victims had no air conditioners or fans and died alone.

“It’s really a tragedy, and a lesson that heat does kill,” said Dr. Jennifer Vines, the Multnomah County health officer, according to the New York Times. “In general — we’re still sifting through the numbers — these were people found in very hot settings, basically alone, and by and large older people.”

Washington state’s death toll from the heat wave has risen to 78, which is double the amount of heat-related deaths the state faced across a five-year period. From 2015 to 2020, Washington recorded a total of 39 deaths from heat.

British Columbia’s heat-related deaths proved even more staggering.

“The 719 deaths reported is three times more than what would normally occur in the province during the same period,” Lisa Lapointe, chief coroner of the British Columbia Coroners Service, said in a statement.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A mural honoring George Floyd erected at Summit and Lagrange in Toledo has collapsed. According to Toledo Police, witnesses say it was destroyed by a lightning strike. 13abc’s Doppler Radar did show a lightning strike in that block at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Toledo Police were seen outside the building, which used to house the Mugshots Bar, setting up tape around the pile of bricks that once formed the artwork.

This is a LIE.

When asked about the decision stop sending vaccine reminder postcards to teenagers, Tankley said the health department always intended these postcards to go to their parents and was taking new steps to ensure they were never sent to minors.

Tanksley said the agency’s online vaccine scheduling system also sends out automated reminder emails, but the agency is working to alter the system so reminders never go to minors and are instead rerouted to their parents.

No government at ANY level should be soliciting minor children over health-related issues.

Notify the parents, the kids belong to them, not the fucking state.

This shit is part of the reason why we have 6 year olds transitioning.
