New lockdown arguments reveal bigger problems for Democrats

No, Karen, we’re not masking again: A winning GOP message for 2022 & beyond
Overall, a majority of voters — 55 percent — agree that “despite good intentions, shutting down businesses and locking down society did more harm than good.” Only 38 percent disagree, with the rest unsure.
But the really interesting part is the racial breakdown: White Democrats reject the idea that lockdowns did more harm than good by a 30-plus-point margin. Nonwhite Democrats, on the other hand, are evenly divided.
The divide widens on the question of whether government officials will hold on to too much power in the future: 62 percent of voters say yes. Nearly two-thirds of white Democrats disagree. But note well: By a whopping 64-27 margin, black Democrats fear that officials will abuse their vast new powers.

This is becoming an increasingly polarizing problem for Democrats. I don't specifically mean the lockdown argument, but rather the growing disconnect between White liberals and pretty much everyone else. This sort of breakdown isn't just an issue with Covid, but it's an issue in general. You give us a hot button issues such as transgenderism, abortion choice rights, or most any social issue not involving BLM and you simply do not see the support from minority Democrats as you do from White Democrats.

In fact, you don't have to go too far back to find a time when blacks as a whole voted for Barack Obama while voting (in their states) to ban gay marriage. The trouble in general is that most of the issues that drive White liberals are not popular with their minority brethren. This, of course, explains the reasons why White liberals and a handful of black power players keep trying to make Republicans out to be racists. Because when it comes to issues, there is really not much else other than fear that Democrats can offer minorities.

Yeah, the lockdown issue is a bad argument for Democrats. White liberal love to follow the every whim and desire of Lord Fauci and the "Administration" in an extreme, over the top. almost cult like manner. But pretty much every other demographic in this country is skeptical or outright opposed. This happens to be true in many other areas of polling. Take away white liberals (for instance) and you have a majority of the rest of the country who doesn't believe that the 2020 election was either fair or accurate.

Ironically it is white liberals that basically run social media, the mainstream media, much of our big tech business, and remain in many highly influential places. So this provides the false comfort with White liberals that their minority opinion is actually not just majority, but the ultimate truth. They feel overly justified in shoving these opinions down the throats of everyone else, because they see this being cheered on in their own world of media.

The price of goods and services rose 0.4% in June, slower than the 0.5% growth during May, according to the core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index released Friday morning. The June reading was lower than the consensus expectation for 0.6% growth.

Why it matters: The core PCE is the inflation measure the Federal Reserve watches most closely. June's reading is the second month in a row of decelerated price growth, giving the Fed breathing room to design a pullback strategy from its emergency market support.

Real-world studies support findings from the lab. U.S.-authorized vaccines are somewhat less effective at preventing infection from the Delta variant than they are against established versions of the virus. But they still offer considerable protection against severe illness and hospitalization.

A study of nearly 20,000 people published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that after two doses, the Pfizer vaccine was 88% effective at preventing symptomatic disease caused by Delta. It was 94% effective against the Alpha variant.

An analysis of more than 14,000 Delta cases by England’s public-health agency found that two doses of the Pfizer vaccine reduced the risk of hospitalization by 96%.

Despite the vaccines’ effectiveness, the protection they provide wanes over time. Public-health officials suspect Americans will eventually need booster shots to retain their immunity.

Vaccinated people who become infected can still transmit the virus to others. Citing the contagiousness of Delta, the CDC recommended Tuesday that vaccinated people resume masking indoors in certain parts of the country.

This is the most important issue that we face and again it's why we need to vote against the anti science Republican party.

Greenland is experiencing its most significant melting event of the year as temperatures in the Arctic surge. The amount of ice that melted on Tuesday alone would be enough to cover the entire state of Florida in two inches of water.

It's the third instance of extreme melting in the past decade, during which time the melting has stretched farther inland than the entire satellite era, which began in the 1970s.

Greenland lost more than 8.5 billion tons of surface mass on Tuesday, and 18.4 billion tons since Sunday, according to the Denmark Meteorological Institute. While this week's total ice loss is not as extreme as a similar event in 2019 — a record melt year — the area of the ice sheet that's melting is larger.

The fires throughout the country, and symptoms of human climate efforts.

Plus the return of Jim Crow rights.

No, Karen, we’re not masking again: A winning GOP message for 2022 & beyond

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest confused pronouncement about masks is another blow to the embattled agency, whose track record hasn’t been exactly brilliant.

For months, the CDC has married a god-awful communications strategy with a determination to cater to the most irrational whims of the paranoid, triple-masking urban gentry: the whims of the archetypical Karen, in other words.

The latest stutter-step is an embarrassment for the public-health establishment and for a Team Biden left trying to explain what the CDC meant. But there’s also an opportunity here for Republicans heading into the 2022 election: The GOP should run as the anti-lockdown party — the anti-Karen party.

A recent Rasmussen poll indicates that broad swaths of America are skeptical of the lockdown response to the pandemic. What’s most interesting is that the skepticism is highest among groups that are key Democratic constituencies.

Overall, a majority of voters — 55 percent — agree that “despite good intentions, shutting down businesses and locking down society did more harm than good.” Only 38 percent disagree, with the rest unsure.

You believe this!

Marx’s greatest failure was not understanding the connection between wealth and intelligence distribution curves. Having ignored the Bell Curve of intelligence, Marx’s economic model is fundamentally flawed and doomed to fail. Indeed, it has predictably failed in every country that tried it.

Perhaps Marx’s communist economic model reflected how he lived his personal life. To put it bluntly, Karl Marx was a lifelong free-loader, was always in debt, and was constantly begging for money to pay his bills from his mother, his wife’s family, and from a generous, rich Friedrich Engels (whose father was a rich industrialist!). So, while Marx was busy attacking the industrialist class, he was living off the money of a rich industrialist, an extraordinary brazen act of hypocrisy by the “leader of the proletariat.”

Although he lived in poverty in a poor section of London, Marx had a family maid, Helen Demuth, although he really couldn’t afford one. In 1851 while Marx’s wife was away on the Continent begging for money, Marx impregnated the maid and fathered an illegitimate son, Fredrick Demuth, who Marx never saw and totally abandoned. It gets worse. To cover up Marx’s betrayal of his wife, professed principles, and public image, Engels agreed to pose as the father of Marx’s illegitimate son and paid off the maid to keep quiet.

Marx fathered seven children with his wife, but four of them died before reaching adolescence due in part to the family’s poverty, leaving him with three adult daughters, two of whom committed suicide.

While Steve Jobs was not perfect, either, who would you choose as a role model for yourself, Steve Jobs or Karl Marx?

The Red Scare on steroids.

Will it sell in the future election cycle?

Unless you reduce turnout and again believe the big lie???

You could win and the American Dream will disappear.

Classic case of the parasite living off the host he attacks. It is the heart of Marxism.

The wonder is how a self-indulgent philosophy can endure for over 100 years.

I guess it's popular with the parasitic academics (professors who don't teach useful skills) to spoiled children of wealth.

Those worries sound like what we hear from Trump voters, and I’m reminded of the “Saturday Night Live” skit around the 2016 election, in which downscale black voters and a white Trump voter (played by Tom Hanks) realize they share much more than what divides them on cultural and economic matters.

Perhaps that explains the Democrats’ race obsession in recent years. As the Democratic Party becomes a party of the white metropolitan class and its government-dependent clients, the GOP has emerged as a multiracial party of the working class. Democrats no doubt hope that sharpening racial divisions will help slow that process, but former President Donald Trump did alarmingly well with minorities, from Dems’ point of view.

There is a great deal of pent-up frustration and resentment over the inconvenience, the loss of freedom and the general climate of hectoring that the government’s pandemic response has created. It’s irritating to be lectured by officials who claim to be smarter than you. It’s infuriating to be lectured by government officials who claim to be smarter than you — but clearly aren’t.

The on-again/off-again claims on masks and vaccination are just part of it. Tired of masks? Get vaccinated, they told us. Now they’re saying wear a mask, even if you’ve been vaccinated and even if you’re associating with others who’ve been vaccinated.

And there’s talk of more lockdowns, which a growing body of scientific evidence suggests were perfectly useless and downright harmful.

The Republicans are the fascist regime of this generation.

Trump is mentally deteriorating -- and his 'sadistic' rhetoric has hit a dangerous new level:

On Jan. 6, Donald Trump attempted a coup to nullify the results of the 2020 presidential election. Thousands of his followers attacked the U.S. Capitol with the goal of preventing the certification of the Electoral College votes, a ceremonial procedure that would formally make Joe Biden the next president of the United States.

Five people died as a result of the Capitol attack. Capitol Police and other law enforcement fought bravely before being overrun by Trump's cult members, political goons and right-wing street thugs and paramilitaries. If not for the valiant efforts of those officers that day, the halls Congress could have been turned into a bloodbath. Vice President Mike Pence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others deemed by Trump and his followers to be traitors could easily have been murdered.

Trump's attack force made no attempt to hide their faces. They carried white supremacist flags and other regalia. They assembled a gallows in the park across the street from the Capitol. They carried a Christian nationalist cross and participated in group prayers before attacking the Capitol. The MAGA flag was viewed as a substitute for the American flag, if not as something superior. These terrorists believed themselves to be "patriots" who were defending the "real America" and of course the man they viewed as its true leader.

As we saw that day, fascist movements claim a special love for the police and military but will eagerly purge them for acts of "disloyalty" to the cause.

They attacked the only black man who refused to be loyal to Trump.

When he publicly said that he had voted for Biden, the right wing nutcase websites like Thecoldheartedtruth made unsubstantiated allegations of bias.

At least nobody I know would "day trade" AMZN, GOOGL, AAPL, MSFT, etc...

In fact, most people now like to trade options vs day trading if they are looking to make a quick buck.

Most of my stocks in my AmeriTrade account are higher risk stocks with high amount of float and borrowed shares that are susceptible to short squeezes, but not necessarily great in fundamentals. It's just a few thousand dollars I mess around with. If it hits I make a good profit. If it sits around, I don't lose much (if anything).

I have other investments (401K, etc) that are just invested in safe funds.

I was just thinking about adding some blue chip stocks to keep the Ameritrade portfolio from swinging back and forth so much and using as a savings sort of deal as I have more $$ and more spendable income right now. But I don't want to be constantly adding money to AMC, SNDL, or CLOV when they tend not to necessarily be long term investments.

New RNC Ad Targets Texas Dems for Bogus Lies About Voter ID Laws

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is continuing to criticize Texas Democrats for their stunt in protest of voter identification laws, and for lies spread about election integrity provisions. The group of state legislators fled their state for Washington, D.C. in avoidance of the job they were elected to do.

In a new ad spot running in the Austin, Texas media market, minister Melvin Everson reminds voters that Republicans are working to make it “easier to vote, and harder to cheat.”

“Everyone should have trust in our elections. But Democrats are opposing common sense voter reforms. What are they afraid of? Here’s what Republicans are actually for: Only mailing ballots to registered voters, More early voting, Bipartisan election observers, And verifying IDs. We want to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. Maybe that’s what the Democrats are worried about,” he says in the ad.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel argued that Americans can “see right through” Democrats’ “partisan schemes” related to election integrity.

“While Republicans are fighting to promote transparency and access to elections through several pieces of election integrity legislation across the country, Texas Democrats are doing what Democrats do best – abandoning the debate and peddling lies to the mainstream media,” McDaniel said. “Americans see right through their partisan schemes, and Republicans will continue to fight for election integrity at every stage of the voting process.”

Not sure the typical independent voter cares about this issue but it will energize the GOP base.

And no accountability to China for Covid

Luckily a few brave democrats are standing up.

And with hospitals now being encouraged to not test people not showing Covid symptoms who have been vaccinated those assigned to Covid stats will have a hard time going through the roof. Especially if this current strain is mild in severity as it appears

I am curious Roger... if you can tell us who these people are?

The Big Lie continues to be that Brian Sicknick died because of the riot, which is disputed by any and all medical evidence and by the doctor who wrote his autopsy. the tales about him being hit with a fire extinguisher (a flat out lie) or even "bear spray" (it was likely police pepper spray that was floating in the air as there was no actual evidence that bear spray was used) are still being told.

Seriously Roger. Do you not believe the doctor?

Otherwise, we have the unarmed protester shot by a unidentified police officer.

A person who sustained injuries from the mere size of the crowd when they fell down and were stepped on by several protesters. Two other people died of heat related medical issues. Heat stroke kills people in large crowds.

That might equal five people who died on or around that day. But only one of them actually died during what could be actually deemed to be the riot (Ashli Babbitt). The others died far from the Capital itself and the three other rallygoers were more affected by crowd size and heat than the Capital riot.

I mean... why do you continue to repeat the lie?

This is a pretty good story about the next election season.

Trump loyalists might hurt their chances..

The starkest example of the limits of Trump’s endorsement came this week in a special runoff election for a U.S. House seat in Texas between two Republicans. Conservative activist Susan Wright lost the race on Tuesday in the state’s 6th congressional district to GOP state Rep. Jake Ellzey by nearly seven points after Trump held a tele-town hall, recorded a robocall and ran ads through his super PAC on her behalf.

Trump blamed the loss on Democrats, who were eligible to vote in the election, saying in an interview with Axios that they turned out to oppose his preferred candidate.

While the Texas special election in the summer of an off-year was unique, some political analysts on the right pointed to the race’s low voter turnout as a sign that Trump was unable to motivate his core supporters to back Wright.

“I don’t think he’s strong enough to elevate someone who would have lost without him,” said Henry Olsen, a senior fellow at the conservative Ethics and Public Policy Center. “It’s not that he’s going away and fading into irrelevance. But I don’t think he is viewed as strongly as when he was in office.”

Republicans say that Wright benefited from Trump’s endorsement ahead of the May 1 all-party primary, helping her to stand out in a 23-candidate field. But they add that Trump’s support would have carried greater weight in the head-to-head July 27 election if he would have campaigned more aggressively on Wright’s behalf.

For instance, Trump held rallies in Ohio and Florida and spoke at the North Carolina Republican Party convention this year, events where he plugged some of his favored candidates.

“This result shows Trump must be all-in with endorsements. He didn’t raise money or show up in the district,” said Matt Mackowiak, a Texas-based Republican strategist. “A half-hearted endorsement can be overcome.”

Some Republicans also argue that because GOP candidates running in open primaries this election cycle are likely to be staunch supporters of Trump, his endorsement may not end up serving as a deciding factor for voters.

Candidates that are called RINO will have a tough time getting elected to the Senate and House of representatives.

They won't get a lot of money from people like you.

It wasn't a failed coup. It was a protest that degenerated into a riot. If the Democrats were honest they would look at the Capitol polices failure to deescalate the situation but they are not.

A much more serious failed coup attempt is what happened to Donald Trump during the FBI Russia scandal. That failed coup attempt used false affidavits to the FISA court in a conspiracy between the FBI and DOJ to remove Trump using the 25th amendment.

Think about it the entire machinery if the federal government was directed by unelected officials to removed a duly elected president of the United States.

That is a serious failed coup attempt.

Sleepy Joe Biden has been identified as the greatest President since FDR

WASHINGTON (AP) — Wages and salaries rose at a healthy pace in the three months ended in June as employers competed to find enough workers to fill millions of available jobs.

Pay increased 1% in the second quarter for workers in the private sector, the Labor Department said Friday. That's down slightly from 1.1% in the first three months of the year but still the second-highest reading in more than a decade.

In the year ending in June, wages and salaries jumped 3.5% for workers in the private sector, the largest increase in more than 14 years. That increase was driven by sharp rise in pay for restaurant and hotel workers of more than 6%.

Then-President Donald Trump pressed top Justice Department officials in a late December phone call to declare the election he lost “corrupt,” and “leave the rest” to him and Republican allies in Congress, according to contemporaneous, handwritten notes taken by officials on the call.

Trump pressured top Justice Department officials on a Dec. 27 phone call with then-Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and his second-in-command, Richard Donoghue, part of an effort to reverse Joe Biden's win.

Donoghue memorialized the conversation in the handwritten notes, which the House Oversight Committee made public on Friday. The committee is investigating Trump's efforts to push false claims about the election in a bid to overturn the results and remain in office.

In response to Rosen saying the Justice Department "can't" and "won't snap its fingers" to change the outcome of an election, Trump is quoted in the notes as saying: "Don’t expect you to do that, just say that the election was corrupt" and "leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen."

Trump added: "We have an obligation to tell people that this was an illegal, corrupt election," according to Donoghue's notes.

Though Donoghue doesn't name lawmakers referenced in that comment, at other times in the conversation, he notes Trump referring to Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Scott Perry, R-Pa., and Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis.

"These handwritten notes show that President Trump directly instructed our nation’s top law enforcement agency to take steps to overturn a free and fair election in the final days of his presidency," House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., said in a statement regarding the documents her committee obtained. "The Committee has begun scheduling interviews with key witnesses to investigate the full extent of the former president’s corruption, and I will exercise every tool at my disposal to ensure all witness testimony is secured without delay."

Throughout the conversation, which took place less than two weeks before the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, Trump said the Justice Department was "failing" in its role, that "people are angry" and "blaming" the DOJ "for inaction," according to Donoghue's notes.

"You guys may not be following the internet the way I do," Trump said, according to the notes.

Rosen and Donoghue said repeatedly on the call that the allegations of voter fraud were false.

According to Donoghue's notes, the men told Trump they had done hundreds of interviews as part of dozens of probes and that his allegations across a number of swing states were not supported by evidence.

They told Trump "flat out" he was getting false information or the claim were "just not supported by the evidence."

The Justice Department provided the notes to Maloney's committee, which is probing the Trump administration's efforts to overturn last fall's election.

They also ruled that the former President Trump must turnover his tax returns to the house investigation committee.

The Justice Department on Friday said the Treasury Department must turn over former President Trump’s long-sought tax returns to the Democratic-led House Ways and Means Committee.

In a Friday memo from the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC), Acting Assistant Attorney General Dawn Johnsen said that the Treasury Department was required to defer to the congressional committee.

“The statute at issue here is unambiguous: ‘Upon written request’ of the chairman of one of the three congressional tax committees, the Secretary ‘shall furnish’ the requested tax information to the Committee,” Johnsen wrote in the 39-page memo.

He said that he would release them for years now and this time we will see how crooked he is.

You probably hate it but I've accumulated a bunch of IBM (now my 4th largest holding) in my Roth. Pays good dividend, has cloud, blockchain, security, AI etc coverage and 12x PE. I definitely wouldn't recommend my 3 largest positions (STAA and NBIX highly valuated) and OKE is a pipeline play I think has upside but market risk too high to recommend. I don't day trade much anymore but when I do it tends to be with a portfolio company I don't mind increasing my size. The one thing I've learned is what everyone knows, nobody knows. I'd try to find something you really understand yourself as a company in a micro valuation space. Your kids may have ideas in what they like in their day-to-day life that isn't really big yet.

The nutcase websites are going back to before the 1900!

Most AT readers certainly understand what's happening, but some may find it surprising that the Marxist seeds were planted late in the nineteenth century. Whether through the federal government, trade unions, the entertainment industry, or the media, Marxists and their fellow travelers have been weaseling their way into American society for well over a century. At times they were repelled by patriots...but almost always at a price. Revisionist history, the "new normal" controlled by the Marxists, usually paints these patriots as delusional wackos and conspiracy theorists.

The same is true today, but it's now on steroids. It's a tried-and-true method the left habitually uses when they can't deny the facts, nor answer questions posed by the opposition. Some serious research will show that, even back in the 1950s, many of the points made by Sen. Joseph McCarthy and the John Birch Society were, in fact, true. But revisionist history paints them, as well as other anti-communist factions, to be nothing more than lunatics. But that's what happens when you control the academy and the media, both of which are almost totally dominated by the far left. (You may find it interesting that Karl Marx was a journalist, who worked ten years as the European correspondent for the New York Daily Tribune. His "news reporting" was very political and was usually slanted to reflect his ideology. Some things never change.)

Peggy Noonan has been one of my favorite political analysts.

She nailed it today....

Republican leaders think they’re playing to his base, and they forgive this in themselves by telling themselves stories about how he really may have won the election. They aren’t loyal, they have Stockholm syndrome: They’ve come to identify with the guy who took them hostage and hope the cops don’t hurt him.

The committee should spend the next few months doing everything it can to get the story. More important than the timing of future hearings this fall and winter is what can be gotten that is deep and new—real information that has never been heard before. Members should focus on what drove this thing, who quietly encouraged it. The collapse of Capitol security has already been done. More interesting now: Were members of Congress in communication with the rioters? Did any advise or coordinate with them before 1/6? What did they say to the White House by phone and text on 1/6?

There’s an important roadmap in the books coming out about Mr. Trump’s final days in the White House. Everyone around the former president seems to be talking, usually not for attribution. Most of what they say is not complimentary. Much that has already come out is valuable, a contribution to the record, but it all lacks the true heft of history because it reflects the limits of journalism. Reporters don’t have subpoena power. They can’t make their sources speak under oath.

The committee can. Democrats in recent investigations have been slow to use the subpoena. They say this time they will. To get the story they’ll have to.

I hope they get at least one of their colleagues on the record on this: Some representatives who later insisted the rioters were peaceful patriots, that it was all just another day with rowdy, happy tourists, accepted the protection of the police they now deride on 1/6. If the protesters were such gentle souls, the representatives could have confidently refused police protection, refused to hide in undisclosed locations, walked freely into the halls, and told their fellow Trump supporters that while their passion was understandable they were breaking the law. “March with me to the exits. We will move our questions about the election forward in the courts, but lawfully.”

Why didn’t they? Because they were afraid of the people they now excuse? They were scared little rabbits who finally knew what they’d unleashed.

Nail this story down. Nail everyone involved. Then, and only then, move on.

Trump may be in jeopardy....

Perhaps one of the most significant revelations is that Trump was recorded as directly threatening the officials' jobs based on their handling of the investigation. The New York Times explained:In a moment of foreshadowing,

Mr. Trump said, "people tell me Jeff Clark is great, I should put him in," referring to the acting head of the Justice Department's civil division, who had also encouraged department officials to intervene in the election. "People want me to replace D.O.J. leadership."
"You should have the leadership you want," Mr. Donoghue replied. But it "won't change the dept's position."

Mr. Donoghue and Mr. Rosen did not know that Mr. Perry had introduced Mr. Clark and Mr. Trump. Exactly one week later, they would be forced to fight Mr. Clark for their jobs in an Oval Office showdown.

Republican voters are feeling a tad deflated about the state of their party, according to new polling out from the AP-NORC.

The survey showed that less than half of Republicans said they were optimistic about the state of the GOP—just 41%, with only 13% saying they're "very" optimistic. One-third came right out and said they were pessimistic.

The problem for the party really seems to come down to one person: Donald Trump. While he continues to be popular with most GOP voters, he also has a depressive effect on the party more broadly. According to the survey, 76% of Republicans still view him favorably. But when it comes to his level of involvement in the party, Republicans are torn: 47% want Trump to have "a lot" of influence over the direction the party, 34% say a little, and 18% say they don't want Trump to have any influence at all.

That 18% sliver of GOP voters who'd like to rid the entire party of Trump has remained notably consistent since the beginning of the year. In February, a Politico/Morning Consult poll found what while 59% of Republicans wanted Trump to play a "major role" in the party, 17% said they "no longer" wanted to him play any role.

Interviews conducted for the AP survey suggest Trump's divisiveness and baseless election lies could depress GOP voting on both ends of the Trump spectrum—among his most devout followers and never-Trumpers alike.

Nicholas Blethrow, a 28-year old Republican who lives in Orange County, California, called the party "pretty much a disaster" and said its continuing efforts to overturn the 2020 election were "ridiculous."

“Clearly there’s a lot of people that enjoy him. But I don’t think it’s good,” Blethrow said.

Reedsville, Wisconsin, native Dennis Herzog, 36, identified as a staunch Republican but also said he has found the constant tension between the parties exhausting and is dismayed by “the whole system in general.”

“It’s nonstop,” Herzog said. “I don’t care who is in office. Just do what’s right for the people and stop picking certain sides.”

The repeated takeaway from polling about Trump is the fact that while he remains a powerful figure in the Republican Party, his dominant presence also poses real challenges for the GOP. While Washington Republicans keep trying to will Trump into talking about the future, his constant harping on the 2020 election continues to sow doubt in the electoral system among his followers. At the same time, some noteworthy sliver of GOP voters wishes he would just dry up and go away, even as their party goes all in on his antics.

Ideally, at this point, GOP voters would be galvanizing against President Joe Biden, but Trump is still hogging the spotlight—and that could prove detrimental to GOP hopes heading into 2022.

About 47 percent of Republicans believe that a time will come when “patriotic Americans have to take the law into their own hands,” according to a George Washington University poll on Americans’ faith in election systems and democratic values.

The GW Politics Poll, conducted among more than 1,700 registered voters from June 4 to June 23 and released this week, found that support for principles like free and fair elections, free speech and peaceful protest were nearly unanimous among Democratic and Republican voters. Approximately 55 percent of GOP respondents, however, said they support the potential use of force to preserve the “traditional American way of life,” compared to just 15 percent of Democrats.

Only 9 percent of Democrats agreed with the statement that "a time will come when patriotic Americans have to take the law into their own hands."

Additionally, Republicans were significantly less likely to have a strong amount of faith in local and state elections.

Eighty-five percent of Democrats expressed trust in local election officials, with 76 percent saying the same of state officials, compared to 63 percent and 44 percent, respectively, for GOP voters.

University researchers measured a drop in Republicans’ confidence in the 2022 elections compared to the period leading up to the 2020 elections, with just 28 percent of Republicans saying they were confident in the upcoming midterm elections compared to 46 percent measured before the 2020 general elections.

I agree, alky.

Which is why I ditched my GOP party affiliation, as did many others.

The GOP is worse than useless.

From National File, "GOP Senator Kevin Cramer Says He's 'Grateful' for Capitol Cop Who Killed 'Criminal' Ashli Babbitt for 'Not Complying' ":

While fielding questions as part of a radio program, North Dakota GOP Senator Kevin Cramer called 14-year Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt a “criminal,” and said he’s “grateful” for the Capitol Police Officer who killed the unarmed January 6th protestor for “not complying” with his orders from the other side of a barricaded door.

The comments from Senator Kevin Cramer came as citizens of North Dakota called in to “The Jay Thomas Show” to speak with their elected official directly. While on the line with the Senator, one caller asked that Cramer reveal the identity of the Capitol Police Officer who shot an unarmed election integrity protestor, Ashli Babbitt, to death from the opposite side of a barricaded door inside the U.S. Capitol building on January 6th.

“I’m quite sure – this is my gut feeling – that everybody knows the name of the guy that shot her,” the caller said, before asking Cramer to “be the one to leak his name.” Cramer asked the caller, “Why would I do that?” The caller replied that the American people “have a right to know.”

Still refusing to name the officer who killed Babbitt, Cramer told the caller that Babbitt was a “criminal” who was shot for the crime of “not complying with officers,” before again questioning why the American people would need to know the name of the “innocent” officer and eventually claiming that even he, as a United States Senator, has no idea who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt.

“The person that shot her is a police officer shooting a criminal not complying with officers telling her, ‘Stop. Don’t come through that window. We have guns drawn. Don’t do it,'” Cramer said. “They’re protecting people, and the officer was found to be innocent of any wrongdoing. So then what would be the purpose of releasing that officer’s name? What do you need to know the officer’s name for?”

“I don’t need to know it. I don’t know it. Why would you need to know it?” Cramer continued. Refusing to give in, the caller pressed Cramer, drawing comparisons to other highly publicized police shootings in which, regardless of whether or not the officer was charged with any wrongdoing, their names were released to the public.

“For crying out loud, if you shoot an illegal alien we’re going to know that police officer’s name,” the caller told Cramer. “This is a police officer that shot somebody in our capitol and his name is being withheld!” Still, Cramer backed the move not to release the officer’s name, telling the caller that he would look into what the laws surrounding the decision before remarking that he is “grateful” for the officer that shot Babbitt. “I’m just grateful for the person quite honestly,” Cramer said as the call was ended.

He's a very conservative Republican

Nice double standard ya got there.

Primary cocksucker Cramer's ass back to ND. Another shit stain in the GOP.

For about a year, a Baltimore woman allegedly drove a car with a gruesome secret: the dead body of her 7-year-old niece stashed in a suitcase in the trunk. Then in May she allegedly cracked the trunk’s lid to dump the body of her 5-year-old nephew beside it.

It wasn’t until months later that police discovered the decomposing bodies of siblings Joshlyn Marie James Johnson and Larry Darnell O’Neal.

Baltimore County Police said in a statement Thursday night that they were grieving over the “unspeakable deaths” after discovering the kids’ bodies when they pulled 33-year-old Nicole Johnson over in a traffic stop late Wednesday.

Typically, the department has fought to keep secret any accounts of private discussions between a president and his cabinet to avoid setting a precedent that would prevent officials in future administrations from candidly advising presidents out of concern that their conversations would later be made public.

But handing over the notes to Congress is part of a pattern of allowing scrutiny of Mr. Trump’s efforts to overturn the election. The Biden Justice Department also told Mr. Rosen, Mr. Donoghue and other former officials this week that they could provide unrestricted testimony to investigators with the House Oversight and Reform and the Senate Judiciary Committees.

_______

He could be in serious danger of being punished for inciting the attack on the Capitol building.

If this had been released during the second impeachment hearings.

The current DOJ is not the personal asset for the President.

Here's the nasty little twat who wrote that NYT piece alky -

The New York Times has been radio silent as one of its star journalists suggested that Trump supporters should be designated as "enemies of the state" amid what she described were ongoing "national security threats."

Times Justice Department reporter Katie Benner took to Twitter on Tuesday as the first hearing of the Democrat-led Jan. 6 select committee was underway.

"Today's #January6thSelectCommittee underscores the America's current, essential natsec dilemma: Work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling a politician’s supporters enemies of the state," Benner wrote.

Benner explained, "As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used to work against a political figure or a political party. But what happens if a politician seems to threaten the state? If the politician continues to do so out of office and his entire party supports that threat?"

The Times' DOJ reporter cast doubt that the Pelosi-appointed committee would resolve the "dilemma" since it remained "unresolved" following the Russia investigation and both impeachments of President Trump.

"That leaves it up to voters, making even more essential free, fair access to the polls," Benner concluded.

Benner, who was recently hired as an MSNBC contributor, sparked backlash on social media for her tweets targeting Trump supporters.

Hours later, Benner deleted the tweets, claiming they were "unclearly worded."

The Times has refused to respond to Fox News' multiple requests for comment, including an inquiry over whether the paper directed Benner to take down the tweets.

But they understand that the federal government really doesn't have the authority to mandate vaccinations.

But they have the authority to recommend private companies to require vaccinations, and issue masking regulations.

I suspect that the President will issue a national recommendation for masking in all indoor activities.

Probably caused in part by his clinical obsession with Trump.

Is the alky too fucking stupid to realize that Trump is no longer President? It sure seems that way. I suppose being locked down in a nursing home will do that to a person. Isolating them from reality and all.

Morons

But one week does not a moron make. Let’s examine history.

McCarthy famously lost a chance to be speaker in 2015 when he admitted that Republicans created the Benghazi select committee to hurt Hillary Clinton (by making her seem “untrustable”).

In 2016, McCarthy told fellow Republicans he believed Donald Trump was on Vladimir Putin’s payroll — “swear to God.” Aghast, then-House Speaker Paul Ryan silenced McCarthy.

In 2018, McCarthy tweeted, then deleted, a warning that three men of Jewish descent, George Soros, Tom Steyer and Mike Bloomberg, wanted “to BUY this election!”
On “60 Minutes” in 2019, McCarthy was asked about then-President Donald Trump’s infamous request of the Ukrainian president: “I’d like you to do us a favor, though.” McCarthy, unaware this was a verbatim quote from the White House transcript, accused CBS of doctoring it.
Recently, McCarthy trumpeted on Fox News an apocryphal report that Biden “is going to control how much meat you can eat.” McCarthy also claimed not to know about QAnon (which he called “Q-on”): “I don’t know if I say it right. I don’t even know what it is.” He had spoken several times previously about QAnon, by name.
Long before McCarthy became Trump’s “my Kevin,” he had a rocky relationship with the English language.

In 2014, I chronicled McCarthy’s musings on blind justice (“You see the Supreme Court, you see the statue sitting there, blinded in the process with the weights in between”), on Obamacare enrollment (“He only totes the 8 million … How can we fall going forward?”) and on charter schools (“This is a great strength of a change making an equalizer inside for economy throughout”). In a 2015 foreign policy address, he announced that he had visited “Hungria” and lamented that Russia is “keeping the place of the band on America.”
Marching band? Boy band? This fact check could not determine.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow then described McCarthy’s speech pattern as a “word typhoon.” (Fact check: It’s technically a word tornado, in which words scatter randomly and sometimes disappear entirely.) He sounds part Yoda, part Google Translate.

But does this make McCarthy a “moron”? There might be another explanation. I asked McCarthy’s communications director, Matt Sparks, if the leader has a speech disability (in which case I wouldn’t ridicule him). But Sparks made no such claim, instead calling my ongoing interest in McCarthy’s words “a bit sad and very odd.”

Alas, this leaves only one possible conclusion, which I deliver with no elms: Pelosi’s claim earns the rating “mostly true.”

CDC FINALLY releases data behind mask guidance U-turn: Study claims vaccinated people infected with 'Delta' variant have same viral levels as the unvaccinated - but only four of 346 sick were hospitalized and NONE died

A new CDC report detailed 469 cases of COVID-19 linked to an outbreak in Provincetown, Massachusetts between July 3 and July 17

Of the infections, 74% occurred in fully vaccinated people who had one of the three FDA-emergency approved vaccines and 80% had symptoms

Only four of the vaccinated people were hospitalized, two of whom had underlying conditions, and there were no deaths

Results showed that vaccinated people who get COVID-19 have same viral levels as the unvaccinated

The CDC says this outbreak was behind its recent recommendations for vaccinated Americans to wear masks in indoors places in COVID-19 hot spots

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-9844761/CDC-FINALLY-releases-data-showing-vaccinated-people-viral-levels-Delta-variant.html

First off it's amazing the CDC would even use this "study" and claim it's their basis for changing guidance.

It basically says the vaccines don't work

And it also infers that this variant is non-lethal for both arms (vaccinated or unvaccinated) though it is early (2-4 weeks out) but few hospitalizations.

So why the hard push on vaccinations and change in mask policy if you are going to use this study?

That's not science

but it is the CDC

the study:
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7031e2.htm?s_cid=mm7031e2_w

'The findings are troublesome,' Dr William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist and a professor of preventative medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, told DailyMail.com.

'Frankly it's not what I would have expected. I would have frankly expected vaccinated people to have lower viral loads...That makes me uneasy and explains it's much more contagious than the original Covid virus.'

So a big spike in cases with the new Covid variant, no difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated, the virus looks pretty benign so far.... and so the CDC says mask up and vaccinate.

We are being run by clowns from the top down

Fire Fauci

Fire whoever is running the CDC

open up America

glad more states are not going to comply with Biden and his unscientific edicts
