218,000 deaths from Covid under Joe Biden's watch!

When running for President he said he had a plan to stop Covid in it's tracks!

Truth is that he has zero plan for anything

The question I have for liberals? Did you actually believe Slow Joe Biden or did you know he was lying through his teeth and that over 200,000 more Americans would die, while all he did was sit around and rehash the same failed strategy that hasn't worked so far?

No new vaccines, no booster, no change in strategy, no nothing. He is literally doing absolutely nothing different than was done before he became President. Where was his foolproof plan to stop Covid in it's tracks? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

President Biden believes that we are at inflection point between democracy and autocracy. At this moment in our history, President Biden believes we must demonstrate to the world that American democracy can deliver for the American people. Today, the President is showing that democracy can deliver results. The Framework will position American workers, farmers, and businesses – small and large alike – to compete and win in the 21st century.

Still, there is more work to do – to grow our economy, create jobs, improve living standards, reduce climate pollution, and ensure more Americans can participate fully and equally in our economy. President Biden remains committed to the comprehensive agenda laid out in the American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan. He will work with Congress to build on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework in legislation that moves in tandem, and he is encouraged that both the House and Senate are working on budget plans that would do so.

But democracy requires compromise. The historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will make life better for millions of Americans, create a generation of good-paying union jobs and economic growth, and position the United States to win the 21st century, including on many of the key technologies needed to combat the climate crisis. That’s what President Biden and Vice President Harris were elected to do.

All the deaths under Trump were not his fault.

The Chinese virus and incompetent CDC guidelines killed approximately 500,000 that he said that it would just disappear

While millions wait for a lifesaving shot, the U.S. death count from covid-19 continues to soar upward with horrifying speed. On Tuesday, the last full day of Donald Trump’s presidency, the death toll reached 400,000 — a once-unthinkable number. More than 100,000 Americans have perished in the pandemic in just the last five weeks until the inauguration of Sleepy Joe Biden.

January 19th of this year Scott!

Pompeo was an original Trump hire, having joined the administration on Day One as CIA director, and then subsequently having been so liked by Trump that he was promoted to secretary of state. In both jobs, he cultivated a reputation as an absolute Trump loyalist. In the fall of 2020, however, Pompeo started privately confiding in others that he was concerned about the crackpot advisers Trump was listening to. Pompeo and Milley both lived at Fort Myer and conferred regularly. Shortly before the election, Pompeo visited Milley’s home and they had a heart-to-heart. Sitting at the general’s kitchen table, Pompeo said, “You know the crazies are taking over,” according to people familiar with the conversation. “Look, none of it fucking matters,” Milley said. “We’ve got to bring it on home. There’s gonna be an election. We’ve got to make sure it’s a free and fair election.” Pompeo and Milley had shared the same persistent worry that Trump might try to use the military to help him hold on to power if he lost the election. But Milley was adamant. He said that he didn't have the authority.

Where is that plan, Roger?

218,000 people have died "since" we got two different vaccines. It's one thing to have people die before a vaccine is ready, it's another to have 200K plus die now that a vaccine has been provided.

Right wing cancel culture. They want to destroy Major League Baseball!

It’s time to reclaim pro sports from institutionalized activism.

Major League Baseball has punished the State of Georgia for its new election laws, moving tonight’s All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver. This is merely the latest in a long line of instances of liberal activism on the part of large American businesses, and especially American professional sports leagues. Since this kind of corporate activism is intended to place conservatives at a disadvantage in American politics, conservatives must consider what ought to be done in response.

Some leaders on the right have complained and called out the MLB for its hypocrisy. Baseball wishes to present itself as a defender of democratic values while, at the same time, seeking lucrative relationships with China—hardly a beacon of human rights and self-government. This is the theme of Senator Marco Rubio’s letter to MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred.

Complaining, however, is clearly not enough. Conservatives have complained for decades about such things, while the leftward drift of America’s institutions has proceeded unchecked. To paraphrase Charles Dudley Warner: Everybody talks about the leftwing oligarchy, but nobody does anything about it.

Some conservative leaders have suggested concrete action. Republican Senators Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Josh Hawley have proposed legislation to strip Major League Baseball of its exemption under federal anti-trust law. Although promising, this proposal is probably too narrow and too negative to achieve what conservatives should be seeking to accomplish. Other major professional sports leagues have likewise become politicized, most notably the National Football League and the National Basketball Association. Conservative leaders should think and speak more imaginatively and ambitiously about how to reform our nation’s institutions—if necessary, by encouraging the creation of new ones.

An ambitious and astute political leader of the right could say: “We need to revise our commercial regulations, our tax code, and our anti-trust laws to encourage the formation of new sports leagues that are focused on the joy of athletic competition and not on woke political activism.”  The aim would be both more comprehensive but also more acceptable to many Americans, since it would seek not merely to retaliate on a given business but to reform and improve the nation’s culture overall.

Indeed, such a proposal would be wise politics, on both the low and the lofty planes. Plato’s Polemarchus, as depicted in the first book of the Republic, offered an imperfect but not entirely wrong understanding when he suggested that justice requires doing good to friends and harm to enemies; this is not the highest aim of statesmanship, but it is certainly an essential part of practical politics, especially in a democracy. If you don’t stand up for your friends, they won’t stand up for you, and you will both be powerless.  Conservative leaders could come to the defense of ordinary conservative and non-political Americans who feel that cultural institutions they have loved and supported have turned on them, returning their affection with contempt, treating them as “deplorable and irredeemable.” There is good reason to expect that many voters would rally to such a proposal.

It is also necessary to make your enemies pay for their enmity. Revision of American law to encourage competition for these de facto sports monopolies would signal to big corporations that there is a cost to their woke activism. If they want to be arms of the Democratic Party, they should not expect a free ride from that part of the country that they choose to treat as political enemies.

In the late 30s the Italian and German governments replaced the institutions and replaced them with loyalists.

These loons are very dangerous.

Democracies are fragile because they allow dissent like the first amendment rights.

We can't stop them legally because of their rights.

But we can prevail, quite simply by strengthening the economy! The Democratic party was in control for most of the years after FDR and the cold war saved the world from Communism.

The Sleepy Joe rhetoric is just fucking stupid trolling

While you were looking at the right wing nutcase websites, the President Biden was making frequent phone calls to Republican senators he needed to make a deal!

August 01 at 12:14 PM PDT
On the day President Biden’s first attempt at a bipartisan infrastructure deal collapsed, he dialed up a Republican senator he saw as a potential negotiating partner for a renewed push.

In that June 8 phone call, Biden told Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) that he wanted a public works agreement with Republicans in the neighborhood of $600 billion. More notably, Biden showed deep interest in provisions on energy resiliency that Cassidy had been working on for weeks.
That embrace of a favored provision hit home with Cassidy. “The president made it clear that that was essential for him,” the senator said. “Since the president had said it must be there, obviously that was very helpful.”

Cassidy would ultimately become one of five Senate Republicans, who, along with five Democrats and the White House, reached an agreement last week on a sweeping infrastructure package that includes $550 billion in new spending to revitalize the nation’s roads, strengthen public transit, repair water systems and expand broadband networks.

The months of arduous negotiations leading to last week’s agreement make up only the first hurdle. In coming days, the package must clear the Senate — where it garnered 67 votes in a recent test vote — and also survive the House, where many discontented liberals see the agreement as inadequate.
Still,

And as talks reached their critical endgame, he deputized Ricchetti, a longtime friend and adviser, to closet himself with Portman and hammer out the final details.

“I’m working with Democrats and Republicans to get this done, because — while there’s a lot we don’t agree on — I believe that we should be able to work together on the few things we do agree on,” Biden told a crowd of autoworkers in Lower Macungie Township, Pa., last week. “I think it’s important.”

The nearly four months of negotiations with Senate Republicans reflected a markedly different dynamic from Biden’s push for emergency coronavirus relief earlier this year, when the president’s brief negotiations with Republicans were promptly eclipsed by Democrats moving on unilaterally to enact $1.9 trillion in pandemic aid.

On infrastructure, Biden repeatedly made it clear in conversations with Republicans that he was serious about achieving a bipartisan deal, according to interviews with senators, congressional aides and administration officials. His chief emissaries to the Capitol — Ricchetti; Brian Deese, director of the National Economic Council; and Louisa Terrell, Biden’s legislative affairs director — echoed that message as often as they could.

Biden had to walk a balance. Some Democrats were angry at his outreach to Republicans, who they said long ago abandoned any pretense of bipartisanship and steamrolled Democrats when they could.

Sleepy Joe is going to pass the infrastructure bill and the other bill using the reconciliation process.

TOKYO (AP) — Simone Biles is back.

The 2016 Olympic gymnastics champion will return to competition in the balance beam final on Tuesday, a little over a week after stepping away from the meet to focus on her mental health.

“We are so excited to confirm that you will see two U.S. athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow — Suni Lee AND Simone Biles!! Can’t wait to watch you both!” USA Gymnastics said in a statement.

The 24-year-old Biles won bronze on beam in Rio de Janeiro five years ago and qualified for the eight-woman final at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre on the first weekend of the Games.

She removed herself from the team final on July 27 after a shaky performance on vault during the first rotation. She watched from the sidelines as her three American teammates completed the meet without her; the U.S. took silver behind the team known as the Russian Olympic Committee.

Victor David Hansen is fucking nuts.

In our woke age, do our soldiers die on the battlefield in proportion to their sex and race, in conformity with the new proportional representation gospel and in all other areas of military endeavors?

We could ask the same of the FBI and CIA, given the loud, recent wokeist careers of John Brennan, James Clapper, Kevin Clinesmith, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok. From such sanctimony we might assume the FBI had successfully ferreted out and preempted the Boston Marathon bombers, or the San Bernardino terrorists; or that we knew from the CIA the threats posed by the Phoenix-like reappearance of the “J.V.” ISIS killers in Iraq, the Spratly Island aggrandizement by China, the true nature of the Wuhan lab leak, the location of existing stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq or Syria, and the current status of the Iranian nuclear program.

The point is not to berate our institutions, but to warn them.  Either their abilities to carry out their assigned tasks are becoming diminished by Nineteen Eighty-Four-like wokism, or they are using ideological camouflage simply to mask their unaccountability—and their increasing incompetence.

Not a plan Roger. Certainly not a new plan.

Moreover states like Florida (where the cases are high) are running ahead of the rest of the country in vaccination rates and it doesn't seem to be the silver bullet. If vaccination were the simple answer then there would be 28 other States with higher Covid rates than Florida.

There is not an absolute correlation between vaccination rates and infection rates (as much as some would like to suggests).

not to say you shouldn't get vaccinated. Just that vaccinations alone do not appear to be ending this.

In 2012, a woman named Jane Bashara was found strangled in Detroit. Her murderer was sentenced to 17 to 28 years in prison, but her husband, who hired the killer, got a life sentence. This story came to Barbara McQuade's mind as she watched last week's House select committee hearing investigating the Capitol riot.

“If a hitman is hired and he kills somebody, the hitman goes to jail,” Officer Harry Dunn of the U.S. Capitol Police, one of four officers who testified before the committee, told Congress. “But not only does the hitman go to jail, but the person who hired them does.” Dunn did not specify who he thought hired the "hitman" in this analogy, but former President Donald Trump is an obvious suspect, writes McQuade: "Like Jane Bashara, we deserve to see accountability not just for the hitmen, but for the people who first thought to put a hit out on Congress in the first place."

The vast number of people who are in ICU units has not been vaccinated, despite the President has provided sufficient numbers.

The Federal government cannot mandate vaccinations, but the states should impose a mandate.

It's the kind of stock that goes bust or to a hundred over the next 5 years. May not be your style but one of those can make a fortune if it hits.

Saw it was up nicely this morning as you would expect. They are going to have to do a new round of financing in the next year to fund the Phase 2 trial which will dilute current holders but I may put my toe in the water if it goes back down to closer to where it was Friday in the next month or so... It has only 6 employees and obviously any investment would be based on trusting Dr. Carson and is extremely speculative. He is on the board.

On a daily basis I would think this would trend down with huge spikes up on good results. Look at the ltc

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Positive results are not proof of failure.

If you have been immunized, you can be infected again, but you will not get sick, because your body is fighting the covid-19 virus and the Delta variance.

You don't understand how our immune system works.

If you were exposed by others, you can spread the covid-19 virus and the Delta variance.

That's the reason why masking will help decrease the risk to others Scott.

If I am exposed to someone who is infected, I will not get sick again. But I could spread it when I sneeze! My Doctor said that I don't need a booster, because my immune system is working very well, despite I take anti-rejection medication. But I could infect others.

The Republicans have been lying to people for the sake of the cause, because they can get people like you to vote for them.

A majority of politicians do the same thing.

But the current President doesn't do that! It's called bipartisan leadership. He is the President for all American people, not like Trump.

No, but they are proof of lying when Fauci and others tell you that you have almost no chance to catch it if you get the vaccine. There are plenty of reasons to get the vaccine. It makes you less likely to catch it and less likely to see the worst of the effects.

But the current vaccine as it stands by itself it not going to "stop Covid in it's tracks". There needs to be something that stops the variants (and there are and will be more than just Delta).
