Biden twists like a pretzel to pat himself on the back in televised address!

Let's recap:
  • He was smart enough to know there was danger.
  • In fact he repeatedly said it was dangerous. Just apparently not out loud.
  • He's apparently gotten hundreds of thousands of American out.
  • He has a special empathy because his son was in the military.
  • He is really, really, really in touch with everyone important non-stop.
  • He is a tough guy who will not forgive or forget.
  • He is a tough guy who will make them pay.
  • He has provided everyone everything they needed. Just ask them.
  • He ordered everyone to complete this mission! So they will.
  • He will rescue our stranded Americans!
  • He told the commanders to take the maximum steps to protect everyone, because otherwise they would have not known to.
  • He explained that everyone under his leadership has been part of a mission that has been run with complete unanimity.

Make no mistake! This guy is a fucking hero! The greatest President in history! No mistakes, no apologies. Just self congratulations on a job well done... by him!

Oh, and he actually stated that he had a list of which reporters he was supposed to call on? Then he suggested that his military commanders contacted him (generally with letters) and assured him that they prescribe to the mission as designed! Again, nothing has gone wrong or apparently could go wrong in the future.

Oh yeah... and last, but not least. This is all the fault of... wait for it...

The bad orange man!!!!

TRENDING: 'KILL LIST' - Biden Regime Provided Taliban with Names of AMERICANS, Afghan Allies

U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that’s prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials.

This is the most important comments today.

He said he had instructed his national security advisers to develop response plans to the attack, including plans to strike assets, leadership and facilities of ISIS-K, the Afghan affiliate of Islamic State, to which the Pentagon attributed the attacks.

We will not sit back and wait until the terrorists attack us again like in 2001.

U.S. officials provided Taliban with names of Americans, Afghan allies to evacuate

“Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list,” said one defense official.

U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that's prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials.

The move, detailed to POLITICO by three U.S. and congressional officials, was designed to expedite the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from Afghanistan as chaos erupted in Afghanistan’s capital city last week after the Taliban seized control of the country. It also came as the Biden administration has been relying on the Taliban for security outside the airport.

Since the fall of Kabul in mid-August, nearly 100,000 people have been evacuated, most of whom had to pass through the Taliban's many checkpoints. But the decision to provide specific names to the Taliban, which has a history of brutally murdering Afghans who collaborated with the U.S. and other coalition forces during the conflict, has angered lawmakers and military officials.

“Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list,” said one defense official, who like others spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive topic. “It’s just appalling and shocking and makes you feel unclean.”

Biden to Kabul attackers: 'We will hunt you down and make you pay'
By Kevin Liptak, CNN
Updated Aug 26, 2021
Washington (CNN) - President Joe Biden vowed Thursday to retaliate for a terrorist attack that killed a dozen US service members outside Kabul's international airport even as he said the frantic mission to airlift Americans from Afghanistan would continue.
"We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay," Biden said in early evening remarks from the White House, hours after the Pentagon said 12 service members had been killed in two separate suicide blasts outside the airport gates.
In a subdued but firm tone, Biden said he's asked the US military for options to respond to the explosions, which he said had been carried out by the Islamic State affiliate operating in Afghanistan.
"We will respond with force and precision at our time, at the place we choose and the moment of our choosing," Biden said. "Here's what you need to know: These ISIS terrorists will not win."
The terror attacks, which came after days of public and private warnings from Biden of a potential threat that could disrupt the massive airlift effort, have complicated the bloody final days of America's longest war.
Now, in addition to evacuating thousands of people who desperately want to leave Afghanistan, Biden has tasked the military with another mission: hunting down and punishing the ISIS terrorists who killed the Americans and scores of Afghan civilians.
They must conduct both missions under the very present threat of further attacks, which military leaders said earlier could come in vehicles or by rocket.
Biden pledged on Thursday to continue the airlift, which he still says will conclude by next Tuesday, a self-imposed deadline for withdrawing all US troops from the country. He said terror attacks are a principal reason he's sought to limit the duration of the evacuation mission.
Earlier in his remarks, Biden said the attack was one "we've been talking about, worried about" over the past days.
"We're outraged as well as heartbroken," said the President, who cleared his schedule after the attack to huddle with advisers for most of the day.
"The situation on the ground is still evolving and I'm constantly being updated," he said.
Central Command chief Gen. Frank McKenzie said during an afternoon briefing that in addition to the dozen Americans dead, 15 US service members were wounded in the attacks and ensuing gunfights. He warned additional attacks from ISIS were still likely, including using vehicles or rockets.
"We thought this would happen sooner or later," McKenzie said.
The explosions laid bare the risks to US troops and diplomats Biden has warned about for a week as a frantic evacuation effort at the airport gained speed. The pace of evacuations has slowed over the past two days as the security situation deteriorated, and a number of western nations said their evacuation efforts were now over.
The Pentagon said Thursday that despite the attack, flights were continuing to take Americans and others out of the country.
"Despite this attack, we are continuing the mission," McKenzie said.
He also said the US was prepared to retaliate for the killings -- the first hostile action deaths in Afghanistan since February 2020.
"If we can find who is associated with this, we will go after them," he said. "We are working very hard right now to determine attribution, to determine who is associated with this cowardly attack and we are prepared to take action against them.".

One of the legitimate concerns is future terrorist organizations like when we ment to get Osama bin Laden.

The fact is, it is deeply depressing to watch the Taliban take over again in Afghanistan and it is humiliating for the United States. And it's horrific to think of the fate of women and girls under Taliban rule. That doesn't change even though this denouement has been obvious for many years and probably inevitable from the start.

Didn't have too. The small US military presence in Afghanistan might have been enough to keep the Afghan army and government together. Trump may have seen the wisdom of this. (He delayed complete withdrawal several times and the last thing he would want was to appear like a loser.)

Of course if you really want to get out of Afghanistan a winner, then you ruthlessly exterminate the Taliban and any other terrorist group they host. You find out who the Taliban leaders are kill them, and level their home villages.

However, the US was never prepared to go that way. That's why they will always lose a guerrilla war.

THE PRESIDENT:  Been a tough day.  This evening in Kabul, as you all know, terrorists attacked — that we’ve been talking about and worried about, that the intelligence community has assessed has [was] undertaken — an attack — by a group known as ISIS-K — took the lives of American service members standing guard at the airport, and wounded several others seriously.  They also wounded a number of civilians, and civilians were killed as well.

I’ve been engaged all day and in constant contact with the military commanders here in Washington, the Pentagon, as well as in Afghanistan and Doha.  And my commanders here in Washington and in the field have been on this with great detail, and you’ve had a chance to speak to some, so far.

The situation on the ground is still evolving, and I’m constantly being updated.

These American service members who gave their lives — it’s an overused word, but it’s totally appropriate — they were heroes.  Heroes who have been engaged in a dangerous, selfless mission to save the lives of others.

They were part of an airlift, an evacuation effort unlike any seen in history, with more than 100,000 American citizens, American partners, Afghans who helped us, and others taken to safety in the last 11 days.  Just in the last 12 hours or so, another 7,000 have gotten out.

They were part of the bravest, most capable, and the most selfless military on the face of the Earth.  And they were part of, simply, what I call the “backbone of America.”  They’re the spine of America, the best the country has to offer.

Jill and I — our hearts ache, like I’m sure all of you do as well, for all those Afghan families who have lost loved ones, including small children, or been wounded in this vicious attack.  And we’re outraged as well as heartbroken.

We have some sense, like many of you do, what the families of these brave heroes are feeling today.  You get this feeling like you’re being sucked into a black hole in the middle of your chest; there’s no way out.  My heart aches for you.

But I know this: We have a continuing obligation, a sacred obligation to all of you — the families of those heroes.  That obligation is not temporary; it lasts forever.

The lives we lost today were lives given in the service of liberty, the service of security, in the service of others, in the service of America. They aren't suckers or losers.

Like their fellow brothers and sisters in arms who died defending our vision and our values in the struggle against terrorism of — the fallen this day, they’re part of a great and noble company of American heroes.

To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this: We will not forgive.  We will not forget.  We will hunt you down and make you pay.  I will defend our interests and our people with every measure at my command.

Over the past few weeks — I know you’re — many of you are probably tired of hearing me say it — we’ve been made aware by our intelligence community that the ISIS-K — an arch-enemy of the Taliban; people who were freed when both those prisons were opened — has been planning a complex set of attacks on the United States personnel and others.

This is why, from the outset, I’ve repeatedly said this mission was extraordinarily dangerous and why I have been so determined to limit the duration of this mission.

And as General McKenzie said, this is why our mission was designed — this is the way it was designed to operate: operate under severe stress and attack.  We’ve known that from the beginning.

And as I’ve been in constant contact with our senior military leaders — and I mean constant, around the clock — and our commanders on the ground and throughout the day, they made it clear that we can and we must complete this mission, and we will.  And that’s what I’ve ordered them to do.

We will not be deterred by terrorists.  We will not let them stop our mission.  We will continue the evacuation.

I’ve also ordered my commanders to develop operational plans to strike ISIS-K assets, leadership, and facilities.  We will respond with force and precision at our time, at the place we choose, and the moment of our choosing.

Here is what you need to know: These ISIS terrorists will not win.  We will rescue the Americans who are there.  We will get out our Afghan allies out, and our mission will go on.

Capitol Police officer who killed Ashli Babbitt on January 6 speaks publicly for first time: 'I know that day I saved countless lives'
By Marshall Cohen, CNN
Updated 1 hour ago Aug 26, 2021
(CNN) - The veteran US Capitol Police officer who killed pro-Trump rioter Ashli Babbitt went public Thursday, revealing his identity and defending his actions on January 6.
"I know that day I saved countless lives," Lt. Michael Byrd said in an interview with "NBC Nightly News." "I know members of Congress, as well as my fellow officers and staff, were in jeopardy and in serious danger. And that's my job."
The officer fatally shot Babbitt in the shoulder while she climbed through a window that led into the Speaker's Lobby, adjacent to the House chamber, while lawmakers were evacuating.
"I tried to wait as long as I could," Byrd said of the incident in the doorway. "I hoped and prayed no one tried to enter through those doors. But their failure to comply required me to take the appropriate action to save the lives of members of Congress and myself and my fellow officers."
The Justice Department said in April that Byrd wouldn't be criminally charged in connection with Babbitt's death, and the US Capitol Police said last week that he wouldn't face any internal discipline. He could still face civil litigation from Babbitt's family, which has threatened a lawsuit.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

A Washington native who has been in law enforcement for 28 years, Byrd said he followed his training and repeatedly yelled at the mob, telling them to stop their advance toward the House chamber.
He said he was "taking a tactical stance" with his gun drawn while the mob approached. "You're ultimately hoping that your commands would be complied with. Unfortunately, they were not."
'I just want the truth to be told'
In the seven months since the insurrection, former President Donald Trump and his allies have attempted to frame a narrative around Babbitt's death and turned her into a martyr in right-wing circles.
Trump said Babbitt, a QAnon supporter and Air Force veteran, was an "innocent, wonderful, incredible woman." During a Fox News interview, Trump also falsely accused the officer of shooting Babbitt in the head. Republican lawmakers also peddled misleading claims about the incident, claiming Byrd was "lying in wait" to kill Babbitt and "executed" her in cold blood.
In the interview with "NBC Nightly News," Byrd said Trump's comments were "disheartening," and denied that he acted out of political animus. He protected Trump during his presidency when he visited the Capitol.
"I hope they understand I did my job," Byrd said of the Republicans who've criticized him. "There was imminent threat and danger to the members of Congress. I just want the truth to be told."
Many of the conspiracies have been fueled by the lack of transparency from Capitol Police and the investigators who reviewed the incident. Byrd spoke out on his own accord and has never been named by any government entity, even though it's common in many jurisdictions for police departments to publicly release the names of officers who are involved in fatal shootings.
Uncertainty about Byrd's identity created a new rallying cry -- "who shot Ashli Babbitt?" -- which Trump has brought up at recent rallies. Byrd's name has been floating around right-wing websites, and he said in the at-times emotional interview Thursday that he and his family have received death threats, including racist threats.
"They talked about killing me, cutting off my head," said Byrd.

In interviews with CNN earlier this year, Babbitt's family said she was "patriotic" and was at the Capitol to "express her First Amendment right and to answer the call of a still-sitting President."
The family says it's considering a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Byrd, and they've already filed a civil lawsuit seeking records and other information from the police about the incident.

rrb and
Their lawyer, Terry Roberts, said in an interview with Zenger News that he believed Byrd was unfit to serve or carry a gun in the Capitol. He also condemned the US Capitol Police for never publicly naming Byrd, which he claimed without evidence was kept secret because Byrd is Black.

rrb said...

Byrd is what you get when law enforcement adopts affirmative action hiring policies and hires a certain percentage of morons to fill a racial diversity quota.

This dumb fuck couldn't even manage to take a shit without fucking it up and leaving his service weapon in a public restroom.

And he has the unmitigated gall to portray himself as the victim.

I sincerely hope he falls prey to the very worst humanity has to offer.

All you have to do is watch the video and see how a President of the United States SHOULD respond to this sort of disaster.

It is a disaster long in the making, and historians will find plenty to blame.

But Biden spoke fittingly and convincingly, not with the blustering self promotion of his successor, but as a man we can trust to take the measures now called for.
