Coordinated messaging for antectodal experiences?

Isn't it amazing that all of these people had the same experience and described it exactly the same?

Interesting... in all of these states that are being references, not only are there actually ICU beds available, but they are not that much more occupied that normal.  Arkansas (72%), Missouri (85%), Kansas (74%), Oklahoma (79%) , Texas (88%), Mississippi (78%), and Tennessee (69%). All in all, it would appear that only 25% or so of these ICU beds are actually being used by Covid patients.

Coordinated effort? Coordinated lie!

If the 25% have been vaccinated they would not be in the ICU units.

Your distorting rhetoric is to get support from rrb and kputz etc..

You have become a politician, not an objective observer.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The hospitals are converting regularl care rooms into ICU rooms. It is a very difficult and extremely expensive process.

They have to make the rooms have negative air pressure, so the virus can't be released even when they open the door!

If your numbers are correct, it don't matter, because the total number of cases is reaching record numbers.

California has recorded at least 20,461 new cases in the last few days, 3,628 of them on Sunday, according to NBC News' tally. That took the state's total above 4 million — slightly over 10 percent of the state's population.

Florida reported 21,683 new cases Friday, its highest one-day total since the start of the pandemic, according to federal health data released Saturday.

California has a much higher population than Florida.

Mississippi’s top state health officials warned on Wednesday of an “astounding” rise in Covid-19 cases that threatens to overwhelm some hospitals’ intensive care units. They ordered hospitals to forgo some elective surgeries and to adhere to a plan to transfer patients to other facilities with available beds when necessary.

The number of Covid-19 infections in the past two weeks was well over double the number recorded for the first half of July, the officials said at a news conference. Deaths rose by 51 percent over the same period and now average between three and four a day, according to the statistics presented.

Statewide, the statistics showed, more than 300 Covid-19 patients were in intensive care or on a ventilator, compared with a few dozen at the start of the month. Where intensive care units are full, some patients are being treated in emergency rooms, the officials said.

Rampant misinformation about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines is undercutting the state’s efforts, said Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the state health officer.

“We’re going to make the vaccine available, but you know, there’s a mountain of opposition to us from some folks,” he said. “We have gotten ourselves into this mess together, and we need to get ourselves out together.”

While the national outlook is also worsening quickly, Mississippi is one of a handful of states where the rate of infections is skyrocketing. Fewer than one half of adults have received at least one shot, putting the state at the bottom of the nation’s vaccination rate ranks and rendering much of its population vulnerable to the highly contagious Delta variant.

Dr. Dobbs said the flood of Covid-19 patients means hospitals in the state must forgo elective surgeries that require overnight stays and must be prepared to fly Covid-19 patients to other facilities if beds run short. He said that many health professionals are “absolutely worn out” from previous surges and that some hospital nurses are quitting — a trend that could make it harder to handle the ongoing spike.

Dr. Paul Byers, the state epidemiologist, called the rise in the number of daily infections “astounding.” He cited 72 long-term-care facilities where unvaccinated staffers have been largely spreading the virus, but he also mentioned settings like summer schools and cheerleading camps.

He said he expects cases to continue to escalate in the coming weeks. Asked to identify where in the state outbreaks are most severe, he said: “We are covered up with outbreaks.”

As has previously been pointed out here numerous times Florida only posts once a week so for a "daily" average you would need to divide their number by 7 to calculate a days worth, so about 3,100 cases a day. Or for 6 consecutive days you would need to report that Florida had Zero new Covid cases !!!

Florida has a much more vulnerable population (older than California though that should not matter on cases, just deaths)

When evaluating MSM claims about hospitalizations and spikes, remember this.

In Kansas City, one hospital was designated to handle all of the COViD patients.

The news reported that hospitals were overrun and "turning away patients", while also reporting a huge spike in patients at a particular hospital.

Hospitals weren't turning away patients, they were sending them to the designated one, and that hospital wasn't spiking, they only received COVID cases.

These are the games the media plays.

It's good to isolate Covid cases away from regular patients as we should have learned from Cuomo and the democrat governors.

Did the New York Times stifle lab leak debate?
Were commercial relationships with China a factor?

The Times took money from CCP offshoots

The world’s verdict on the lab leak seems to be shifting. The Biden Administration now thinks there is a credible possibility that Covid-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. WHO chief Tedros Adhanome Ghebreyesus has admitted that attempts to dismiss the hypothesis were “premature”. These are, of course, positive developments — but they should also leave us astounded.

In the opening months of the pandemic, the lab leak hypothesis was actively discredited by the media and scientific establishment, with anyone associated with it smeared as “racist”. The question we have to ask now is how, and why, did this happen?

To a great extent, I believe the answer lies with the world’s most powerful news outlet, the New York Times. At the start of the pandemic, the Times set the news and policy agenda on the lab leak hypothesis, discrediting it and anyone who explored it. The Times did so while taking money from Chinese state-owned propaganda outlets, such as China Daily, and while pursuing long-term investments in China that may have made the paper susceptible to the CCP’s strong-arm propaganda tactics in the first months of the pandemic.

As someone who has spent years researching the history of the Times, I was struck by the paper’s markedly pro-China bent at the start of the pandemic. It opposed Trump’s travel ban to and from China as “isolationist”. It all but ignored the unparalleled success of China’s arch-enemy, Taiwan, in containing the virus. It downplayed China’s economic war against Australia, whose prime minister early on questioned the CCP story on the pandemic’s origins. And it celebrated China’s success in battling Covid-19, taking the CCP’s absurd mortality numbers at face value, reporting in August 2020 that 4,634 Chinese people died from the virus and, six months later, that there were 4,636 total deaths. That in a country of 1.4 billion people only two people died of Covid-19 in the half a year defies logic and common sense. Still, the Times legitimised the CCP numbers by printing them as hard fact.

Bidenism Is Slowly Being Ratified

 David T.S. Jonas.

After six months as President, we’re starting to have a good idea of what Biden’s governing philosophy is.

Bidenism can be said to be pragmatic, empathetic, very in touch with popular opinion, wary of giving bad faith opponents easy targets, and very focused on ultimately getting the job done.

In short: do popular things and stay on track.

And this approach is getting ratified bit by bit every day.

On the Democratic side, what little we’ve seen in the way of primary elections seems to confirm this. Moderates who fully embrace core Democratic values but make clear they’ll safeguard the party from more unpopular stances took the prize in Virginia and New York City’s primaries.

Even the party’s most left-leaning voices have largely ceded to this popularity-minded framework, with Sen. Bernie Sanders in particular reaping the rewards of guiding a massive reconciliation bill.

But I think Bidenism’s ratification goes beyond just Democrats.

Consider the elevation of “hard” infrastructure as a marquee issue for Biden — he really, really wants it and won’t let go.

It’s one of the least controversial items Congress regularly debates, but for better or worse, it really was at the edge of what a bipartisan Senate could move in terms of big/non-crisis legislation that might boost a Democratic President’s standing.

In this way, the Democratic Party hasn’t just bent in Biden’s direction, but so too has the rest of Congress, and crucially, away from McConnellism.
--------

McConnellism was used against Obama from the day he became the Majority leader of the Senate.

And the Democrats are applying pressure on Pelosi to unlink the two bills.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans released their report on COVID-19’s origins, pointing to evidence of a lab leak, genetic modification, and a cover-up, making the case the virus accidentally emerged from the Wuhan lab in the fall of 2019.

The report concluded that “the preponderance of evidence suggests SARS-CoV-2 was accidentally released from a Wuhan Institute of Virology laboratory sometime prior to September 12, 2019,” and “the virus, or the viral sequence that was genetically manipulated, was likely collected in a cave in Yunnan province, PRC, between 2012 and 2015."

The report said Wuhan lab researchers, CCP officials, and “potentially American citizens” all “directly engaged in efforts to obfuscate information related to the origins of the virus and to suppress public debate of a possible lab leak.”

Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas led the GOP’s China Task Force and released a report in September alleging a Chinese cover-up and detailing serious concerns about the Wuhan lab. The House Foreign Affairs ranking member's new addendum to that report puts a spotlight on the Wuhan lab.

USA today published

Florida on Sunday broke its record for coronavirus hospitalizations a day after the state recorded the most daily COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic in early 2020.

More than 10,200 people in Florida are hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to data reported to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The previous record of 10,170 hospitalizations was from July 23, 2020, more than a half-year before vaccinations started becoming widespread, according to the Florida Hospital Association. Florida leads the nation in per capita hospitalizations for COVID-19.

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare's chief communications officer said the hospital has 70 patients in its COVID-19 unit — an increase of 11 in just two days since Friday and the highest the hospital has seen since the start of the pandemic. The vast majority of the patients hospitalized now, according to Stephanie Derzypolski, are unvaccinated.

"This is the most we've ever had," said Derzypolski, adding that their previous highest number of hospitalizations was 51.

Coronavirus cases are climbing across the country, but there are dramatic differences in the intensity of the outbreaks.

Tennessee reported 356 cases in its last week of June and 12,765 cases in its last week of July, resulting in a 3,486% increase. In California, cases were up 1,078%. And in Louisiana, cases were up 1,043% but on a per-person basis, the state is reporting cases more than 10 times faster than nine different states.

FACT SHEET: Reopening Schools and Rebuilding With Equity

AUGUST 02, 2021STATEMENTS AND RELEASES

The Administration has taken decisive action to support the safe reopening of schools for in-person instruction and to address the pandemic’s disparate impact on students of color and other underserved students. As families across the country eagerly anticipate a return to school, the Administration is determined to ensure that our schools and students not only recover from the pandemic, but that we Build Back Better for the future.

Prioritizing safe reopening

The President made clear on Day One of this Administration that safely reopening schools was a national priority, signing the Executive Order on Supporting the Reopening and Continuing Operation of Schools and Early Childhood Education Providers, which launched a comprehensive effort across the White House, Department of Education, and Department of Health and Human Services to safely reopen schools for in-person instruction. The Department released two volumes of its COVID-19 Handbook focused on safely reopening schools and meeting the needs of students, and launched a clearinghouse of best practices for safely operating in-person and addressing the needs of students and staff. Secretary Cardona’s National Safe School Reopening Summit highlighted best practices from districts across the country to support safe in-person learning.

Vaccination is our leading strategy to end the pandemic, and—combined with the layered mitigation strategies recommended by the CDC—has the greatest potential to allow schools to reopen fully this fall and stay open for in-person learning. That’s why, in March the President prioritized teachers and school staff for access to the COVID vaccine. As a result, almost 90 percent of educators and school staff are now vaccinated. To get more of our students ages 12 and older vaccinated, the President is now calling on school districts nationwide to host at least one pop-up vaccination clinic over the coming weeks and directing pharmacies in the federal pharmacy program to prioritize this and to work with school districts across the country to host vaccination clinics at schools and colleges.

Heroic efforts from teachers, parents, and school staff, combined with the Administration’s aggressive vaccination push, has demonstrated that safe in-person learning is possible. Since January, the percentage of K-8 schools offering remote-only instruction decreased from 23 percent in January to only 2 percent in May.

However, there is still work to be done. During the pandemic, students of color have been less likely to be enrolled in in-person instruction. Data shows that on average students in remote learning report poorer well-being than those in in-person instruction. A continued reliance on remote learning threatens to further widen disparities. The Administration will continue to address the concerns of families, and provide support to states in creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
-----
An unfortunate fact is that the vast majority of people in prison don't have even a high school degree.

Question: Why do pollsters deliberately avoid asking the public if they believe that Joe Biden's mental acuity is firm enough to be president?

This is a huge topic of conversation. But pollsters refuse to ask questions about it.

Why?

That's a rhetorical "why." The answer is obvious: Pollsters are trying to protect Biden by gaslighting citizens into thinking this is not a frequent question other Americans ask, and is not a "valid" or well-predicated question.

They're trying to convince Americans that Biden's mental acuity is beyond approach by insisting there simply no valid questions to even ask about it.

The United States reached a milestone of getting at least one coronavirus vaccine dose to 70 percent of adults on Monday, almost a month after President Biden’s original July 4 goal.
The news came as the highly contagious delta variant is driving a coronavirus surge, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday reporting more than 100,000 daily cases. It was a number not seen since February, when vaccines were not widely available.
Biden called on more Americans to get the shot, tweeting Monday afternoon that the nation was “prepared to deal with the surge in COVID-19 cases like never before.”
“Unlike a year ago, we have the ability to save lives and keep our economy growing,” he wrote. “We know we can dramatically lower the cases in the country. We can do this. Get vaccinated.”
New daily reported deaths have gone up by 33 percent and hospitalizations by 46 percent on average in the last seven days compared to the week before, according to CDC data.
Although forecasts are tricky and cannot account for new variants, disease experts predict as many as 140,000 to 300,000 cases a day in the United States come August, likely fueled by the more transmissible delta variant and the widespread resumption of normal activities.
The virus is infecting mostly unvaccinated people, though breakthrough cases in vaccinated people are emerging, too.

Lyndsey Graham just said that he is infected. Despite being vaccinated.

Today National File learned that U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and his campaign agreed to drop their joint lawsuit against National File, editor-in-chief Tom Pappert, and Senior Reporter Patrick Howley after 10 months of litigation, resulting in what National File views as a major victory.
In October of 2020, National File published photos we believe to show Mark Kelly dressed as genocidal dictator Adolf Hitler. Kelly claimed he was not depicted in the photographs, and proceeded to retain the powerful Democrat law firm Perkins Coie to sue National File in response. A lawsuit was filed against National File, Pappert, and Howley on October 26, 2020.

The head Perkins Coie lawyer representing Mark Kelly in the suit against National File was none other than Henry “Hal” Brewster, who gained national recognition while representing Hillary Clinton’s staff in the matter of her bathroom email server. The Arizona-based Perkins Coie attorney attached to the lawsuit at the time of filing is Sarah Gonski, who also challenged the legality of the Arizona Senate’s forensic audit of the 2020 election results in Maricopa County. Finally, Perkins Coie’s top lawyer is Marc Elias, who while not directly involved in the now-dismissed lawsuit against National File, is the Chair of Perkins Coie, and served as the General Counsel for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign.

Now, while facing what may be a challenging reelection campaign in 2022, Kelly has dropped this lawsuit after 10 months of litigation. In a press release, Pappert said, “The fact that Mark Kelly dropped this lawsuit proves that the sitting U.S. Senator did not want to go to trial to defend himself against claims he appeared in a photo dressed as Hitler.” He added, “Mark Kelly’s policy positions — medical tyranny, gutting the Second Amendment, militarized corporations in charge of society — are all hallmarks of totalitarian regimes. It makes sense that Kelly wanted to make this go away while he’s running for reelection.” continues:

Democrat Megadonor Convicted of 9 Felonies Related to Drug-Fueled Deaths

Democrat megadonor Ed Buck, who has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and other Democrat candidates
, was convicted of nine felonies on Tuesday over the fatal overdoses of two men during “party and play” encounters at his West Hollywood apartment.

Among the charges, Buck was convicted of included methamphetamine distribution, maintaining a drug den, and enticement to cross state lines to engage in prostitution.

The 66-year-old progressive activist and long-time fixture in West Hollywood politics are expected to spend the remainder of his life in prison as his two convictions for supplying the meth that resulted in death each carries a minimum sentence of 20 years.

Buck’s pursuit of dangerous, drug-fueled sexual activities led to the overdose deaths of two Black men in his apartment: Gemmel Moore, 26, in July 2017, and Timothy Dean, 55, in January 2019.

Buck’s activities carried on unabated until September 2019, when a third Black man nearly died of an overdose, which prompted Buck’s arrest.

Where the Global Vaccination Attempt Went Wrong
August 2, 2021 at 2:02 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
New York Times:
“Known as Covax, the program was supposed to be a global powerhouse, a multibillion-dollar alliance of international health bodies and nonprofits that would ensure through sheer buying power that poor countries received vaccines as quickly as the rich. Instead, Covax has struggled to acquire doses: It stands half a billion short of its goal. Poor countries are dangerously unprotected as the Delta variant runs rampant, just the scenario that Covax was created to prevent.”

“The urgent need to vaccinate the world goes far beyond protecting people in poor nations. The longer the virus circulates, the more dangerous it can become, even for vaccinated people in wealthy countries.”

U.S. Finally Hits 70% Vaccination Rate Target
August 2, 2021 at 1:38 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
“Seventy percent
of U.S. adults have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, a key milestone in the fight against the pandemic that the country hit nearly a month later than President Joe Biden had hoped,” Bloomberg reports.

We'd be SO much better off today if everyone had turned their backs on Trumpster nonsense and united in trying to achieve this earlier.

Trump to Fight Release of Tax Returns
August 2, 2021 at 5:29 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
“Former President Donald Trump
will fight any move by the Treasury Department to turn over his tax returns to Congress, a lawyer for Mr. Trump said Monday, days after the Justice Department directed the agency to provide the documents to a House panel,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

Why fight? He himself once announced that he was going to turn them over (a lie) and said he had nothing to hide.
