Let's be clear here folks. As the Delta variant starts to hit other parts of the country (did Democrats believe it would stay isolated to Florida forever) the public will start to blame Biden more and more. Even if they still want to believe the nonsense that Covid is a social media disinformation issue, people will begin to blame Biden if this continues as a country-wide issue.
Otherwise, the recent news of Afghanistan falling apart won't bode well for Biden in the next poll either. So a couple of the subject matters that he his not fallen too far out of are likely going to cause issue by pure osmosis of the news of the day.

He's going to take heat for this.
The Biden administration is preparing for the fall of Kabul and a retreat from any U.S. diplomatic presence in Afghanistan — a stunning reversal of expectations.
It's looking increasingly likely to high-ranking aides to President Biden that the U.S. will have no enduring diplomatic presence in Afghanistan beyond Aug. 31 — the date Biden has promised the full troop withdrawal will be complete.
Why it matters: It's a major reversal from even a few weeks ago.
The working assumption in Biden’s inner circle had been that Kabul could hold for the short term, allowing the U.S. to stay diplomatically engaged and help Afghan women secure their rights beyond the U.S. withdrawal. The 3,000 Marines and soldiers going in to help with the evacuation will also be gone by Aug. 31, we're told.
Between the lines: Biden is at Camp David this weekend, not at his Delaware beach house. He can relax there, but also has full comms.
People can come and go without detection, and he avoids the optics of a beach vacation amid a mass evacuation.
The big picture: The U.S. embassy in Kabul wasn’t just a diplomatic building. It also was a major intelligence center with paper records and equipment there that the U.S. will remove or destroy. Protocols are in place for just such an emergency.
Unlike Tehran in 1979, when the Iranian fundamentalists gained access to some sensitive material, the U.S. staff still in Kabul will ensure there’s nothing to gain.American diplomats at the embassy have been instructed to destroy important papers and desktop computers before they leave, according to a memo obtained by NPR.
Despite the efforts to secure intelligence and safeguard U.S. personnel and their Afghan supporters, Biden must brace for the symbolic defeat of seeing the Taliban overrun the space that housed the embassy.
That includes the ambassador's residence — and the landmark "Duck and Cover" bar frequented by generations of troops, diplomats and journalists.
The major moment to come: Lowering the American flag that flies over what is essentially sovereign U.S. territory.
That's typically done by the Marine Security Guard detachment that's always on post. It's a point of honor for the ambassador or chargé d'affaires to take custody of the flag and bring it back to State or a safe haven.
A senior State Department official told Axios: "The Embassy remains open and we plan to continue our diplomatic work in Afghanistan."
"The United States will continue to support consular services, including emergency services for U.S. citizens and the processing and operations of the Special Immigrant Visa program, and will continue to engage in diplomacy with the Afghan government and people.""Additionally, we will continue our focus on counterterrorism. We are evaluating the security situation every day to determine how best to keep those serving at our Embassy safe. This is what we do for every diplomatic post in a challenging security environment."
How it works: The core diplomatic team left in Kabul will be small enough to be quickly evacuated.
"Every day counts, and they’re using the time to process SIVs [Special Immigrant Visas] for Afghans and evacuate civilian personnel," an administration official told us."Aug. 31st is a long way from now," the official added. "We’re not going to be bullied out of there."The administration official said the situation on the ground is changing so rapidly that senior officials are taking it day by day. But this reflected the thinking at the top levels of the Biden administration as of Friday night.
What's next: Diplomats are making contingency plans with other countries to see if they’d be willing to take in Afghans who helped with the U.S. war effort and need to be evacuated under fear of Taliban retribution.
Qatar is the big one. But conversations are happening with Kuwait and other countries, which are considering housing smaller numbers of Afghans for shorter periods.
One U.S. official in touch with a former contact in Kabul asked Friday morning how the locally employed staff — the Afghans working for the United States — is faring.
"LES are freaking out,” the contact replied. “Everyone wants to get out of this country.”“I’m so worried about my family.”
Say this much for Jimmy Carter: it took him more than three years for his presidency to implode completely. By the end of 1979, we had high inflation, an energy crisis, American hostages in Iran, a geopolitical rival that held us in contempt and thought it has the wind of history at its back, prompting dangerous adventurism (including, ironically, in Afghanistan).
It’s only taken Joe Biden about six months to arrive at a comparable destination.

Except it's not growing, and democrats themselves are preparing to be fucking slaughtered in the mid-terms.
The clown you installed is in the process of ruining EVERYTHING.
Roger...
most adults are smart enough to know that our economy is "recovering" from the Covid crisis, not "growing" as is being suggested by some media members. We reported a kob loss of over 20 million jobs back in April of 2020.
We are still almost 6 million short of making that up.
So once we make up for the lost jobs from Covid, then we can actually say we are growing. But ultimately inflation is one thing that people hate. Once they start paying more for gas and groceries, that hits them where it counts.
Biden's biggest Covid problem
Yep.
And it is completely 100% avoidable.
This is why I'm convinced that Biden* is an imbecile. The collapse of Afghanistan might not be within Biden's control and perhaps he did inherit a shitshow.
But the southern border? A galactic clusterfuck completely of his own doing.
100%.
Spectacularly wrong Roger
"On the economy if it continues to grow at a record pace..."
It's not.
I did not expect much from a Biden administration, but I have to admit they have failed more massively than probably anyone could have predicted. A long weekend? Lids every other day? Absolutely laughable. This is how the US ends: With a huge whimper.

The Wall Street Journal reports on inflation etc.
The Wall Street Journal reports
After a 2020 rife with economic uncertainty, 2021 is shaping up to be a very different story.
A steady supply of COVID-19 vaccines, a $1.9 trillion COVID-19-related stimulus package and stronger earnings growth forecasts are driving great expectations for the U.S. economy. “2021 is likely to be a boom year for global and U.S. economic growth,” says Michael Collins, Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, PGIM Fixed Income.
Of course, boom years often conjure images of central bankers pulling levers to cool an overheating economy. That’s a key reason why bond yields jumped over the last few months, with the yield on the 10-year Treasury note rising from below 1% in late December to over 1.7% by mid-March.
But Collins doesn’t expect a fast-growing economy to spur swiftly rising inflation and interest rates. To the contrary, he expects economic growth to moderate after a 2021 rebound, for reasons including an aging population, shrinking labor force and growing public- and private-sector debt.
That environment is likely to help keep inflation and interest rates in check, Collins says. As a result, he’s skeptical of the Federal Reserve’s long-term goal of 2.5% for the federal funds rate, its key short-term interest rate. “We think the Fed could get the fed funds rate to 1% or slightly above that over the next five years, but it would be difficult for them to hit their target of 2.5%,” he says.
If inflation and interest rates remain low for years to come, as Collins expects, then bond investors need to be diligent in their search for attractive fixed income opportunities.
STILL LOWER FOR LONGER
Collins and his colleagues at PGIM Fixed Income have maintained low-rate, low-inflation projections for decades. He acknowledges that most of their peers on Wall Street don’t share their view. “We’re used to being the contrarians on this issue,” he says.
Collins is confident the Fed will move cautiously, given mounting levels of public and private debt. A jump in interest rates could lead to seismic levels of financial stress as the government, corporations and consumers face larger debt payments. “I think if the fed funds rate went to 2.5%, so much money would have to be allocated to servicing debt that it would cause a collapse in economic activity,” he says—and central bankers won’t take that chance.
Furthermore, Collins expects inflation to average less than the Fed’s long-term goal of 2%, pulled down by aging demographics and technological advances.
The next election season is a year away.
At the current rate, there will be more than the six million jobs will be available before the election day.
Once they start paying more for gas and groceries, that hits them where it counts.
The reason families need two incomes today is not to support themselves but to support the government.

A new Fox News poll showed that more Democrats favor socialism over capitalism, in a sharp reversal from just a year and a half ago.
The poll, taken between Aug. 7-10, showed that 59% of registered Democratic voters who participated had a positive view of socialism, compared to just 49% who felt that way about capitalism.

U.S. Sees Afghanistan Accomplishments Crumble
August 14, 2021 at 6:42 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
Wall Street Journal:
“After 20 years of war, much of what the U.S. sought to accomplish in Afghanistan crumbled in just one week.”
New York Times:
“This implosion comes despite the United States having poured more than $83 billion in weapons, equipment and training into the country’s security forces over two decades.
“Building the Afghan security apparatus was one of the key parts of the Obama administration’s strategy as it sought to find a way to hand over security and leave nearly a decade ago.
These efforts produced an army modeled in the image of the United States’ military, an Afghan institution that was supposed to outlast the American war.
“But it will likely be gone before the United States is.”

What’s Behind Lindsey Graham’s Devotion to Trump?
August 14, 2021 at 6:33 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
New York Times:
“For four years, Mr. Graham, a man who had once called Mr. Trump ‘a race-baiting, xenophobic bigot,’ exemplified the accommodations that so many Republicans made to the precedent-breaking president, only more vividly, volubly and candidly.
“But Mr. Graham’s reaffirmed devotion has come to represent something more remarkable:
his party’s headlong march into the far reaches of Trumpism.
That the senator is making regular Palm Beach pilgrimages as supplicant to an exiled former president who inspired the Capitol attack and continues to undermine democratic norms
underscores how fully his party has departed from the traditional conservative ideologies of politicians like Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney and Mr. Graham’s close friend John McCain."
New Jersey Democrats Get Tiebreaker Edge in Redistricting
August 14, 2021 at 6:31 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
New Jersey Globe:
“The New Jersey Supreme Court has picked John Wallace as the tiebreaker for the Congressional Redistricting Commission, siding with the choice of Democrats for the post.
“The tiebreaker vote could have national implications in President Joe Biden’s midterm elections, where Republicans are just five seats away from controlling the U.S. House of Representatives.”
At the current rate, there will be more than the six million jobs will be available before the election day.
Genius,
There are TEN MILLION JOBS AVAILABLE TODAY.
LOL.
More than 4.1 million since Biden was inaugurated Jan. 20, thanks largely to the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan he signed in March.
According to NDN, a Democratic think tank, Biden’s job creation rate of 681,000 per month is a jaw-dropping 68 times that of the 9,700 jobs created on average during the 16 years of Republican presidents George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Donald Trump. Biden is even trending ahead of the Clinton and Obama years, when new jobs per month averaged 176,000.
Roger... the Wall Street Journal is simply quoting a guy who is a investment fund manager. Perhaps this fund manager is 100% correct (don't know what his track record is on short and medium term macroeconomic predictions to make that determination).
All I know is that there are a lot of economists who believe that inflation is not temporary or that it will not help the economy. The thing about economists is that they seem to disagree a lot and by wide margins. Hard to suggest it's a science of any sort when there is "never" any consensus.
After 2020, 2021 should have been a huge year. Probably much bigger than it has been given everything.
But it begs the question Roger?
If the economy is so good....
Why do we need an economic stimulus plan that is approximately ten times larger in value than the New Deal was and 6-7 times larger than the largest stimulus in history?

So Slow Joe can fancy himself the next FDR.
Our economic disaster was completely self inflicted. And left to our own devices, the economy would've recovered organically on it's own. Not a penny of "stimulus" was needed. Not one red cent. But little men need to make themselves feel big, and Slow Joe is no exception. We all need to suffer so he can play-act being the fucking hero. Scott, the most important issue in the $3.5 trillion is to strengthen our education system. The vast majority of Americans who are imprisoned don't have even a high school degree.
If we succeed in reducing the level of people without a high school education, and again creat millions of union jobs, who make enough money to pay for housing and education expenses and food and even internet service, the crime rate may drop off astronomicaly.
If a lot of them are minorities, the crime rate will drop.
In the past, the unions discriminate against African Americans and Hispanics. When I was younger, I saw that.
But not anymore...
Improving education and Labor rights will help millions of Americans.
and you know where this is headed:
As debate rages over masking children, experts downplay efficacy of cloth masks
Mixed messages from experts leave many parents confused with new school year approaching.
Experts are increasingly disputing the overall efficacy of cloth face masks in fighting the spread of SARS-Cov-2, even as many insist that children must be forced to wear them when attending school in the fall.
Cloth masks over the past year have been hailed as a critical lifesaving tool in the fight against SARS-Cov-2, with experts, public health organizations and commentators claiming that fabric masks are among the most indispensible factors in turning the tide against COVID-19.
Yet in recent days more and more prominent officials appear to be steering away from an emphasis on cloth masks and toward more robust forms of face coverings, suggesting a potential reevaluation of the overall effectiveness of cloth masks.
https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/coronavirus/debate-rages-over-masking-children-experts-downplay-efficacy-cloth
So the reason masks aren't working to stop Covid is that we were using the wrong kind of masks

The Biden administration is stepping in to offer financial assistance to Florida educators defying Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) law banning local K-12 mask mandates,” Axios reports.
Once again Biden is overstepping his constitutional authority. And you thought Trump was the authoritarian dictator.
LMAO
Scott, the most important issue in the $3.5 trillion is to strengthen our education system.
So Rog...
You are actually making an argument that we are spending 3.5 trillion dollars on education or otherwise should be?
Do you realize that we only spend 900 billion a year on ALL non-military Discretionary spending. That 3.5 trillion is the equivalent to nearly four years of TOTAL non-military discretionary spending for the entire US Government.
Do you really believe we can generally get by on 900 billion per year on ALL non-military Discretionary spending....
But now that Biden is President we need an extra 6.5 trillion to get by?
What is it you ask all the time?
Oh yeah?
Are you out of your mind?

They believe that the bill is not constitutional.
The actual practice, the biggest steps toward defeating separation-of-powers constitutionalism took place during the New Deal, which was animated by a strong optimism about the capabilities, public spiritedness, and objectivity of administrators. This optimism reflected the progressive political theory that had come at least a generation earlier; it was a manifestation of the idea of separating politics and administration, originated in America by Woodrow Wilson and Frank Goodnow—two of the founders of the administrative state as it exists today. Wilson introduced the concept of separating politics and administration—of treating administrative governance as an object of study entirely separate from politics—in a series of essays in the latter part of the 1880s. Goodnow expanded upon this Wilsonian concept in the 1890s, and eventually published a book in 1900 titled Politics and Administration. Goodnow is often given more credit today for his role in the origins of administrative law, both because his seminal writings on the topic were more voluminous than Wilson’s and because administrative law was the field in which Goodnow worked and published for decades.
Teaching children and adults will strengthen the middle class and again the climate changes.
Sorry Rog...
But this is about 1.9 trillion, 1.2 trillion, and 3.5 trillion.
This is about stimulus spending that exceeds anything we ever did before by around seven times. As in multiply the large stimulus we ever passed by 7 and we see the numbers we are talking about.
Education is red herring. We don't, won't, and cannot possibly spend that much money on education. We cannot spend 1/10 of that on education. If that (education) is what you "really" believe this stimulus is for, then you really really really need help.
It really seems like you cannot grasp exactly how much money 6.6 trillion dollars is.
it is literally more than two years of total revenue at a time when we are looking at multi-trillion dollar deficits already.
* no nurse must have been available

Tell that to the parents showing up at school board meeting fighting mask mandates, CRT, and other federal government initiatives.
Parents have a different idea on how to strengthen the educational system and it doesn't cost 3.5 trillion.
Just teach the basic fundamentals of math and science. Return civics and history and the American exceptionalism it represents. And return Americanism vs. Communism to teach student why capitalism is a superior economic system that has pulled more people out of poverty than any other economic system.

Biden Boosts U.S. Troops in Afghanistan to Shield Withdrawal
Justin Sink
(Bloomberg) -- President Joe Biden increased the U.S. troop deployment to Afghanistan to 5,000 to assist with the final weeks of the withdrawal of American personnel, as Taliban fighters took control of multiple cities and approached the capital of Kabul.
Biden said the decision, which adds to 3,000 Marines and soldiers already being deployed, was made after consultation with diplomatic, military, and intelligence officials.
The effort was intended “to make sure we can have an orderly and safe drawdown of U.S. personnel and other allied personnel and an orderly and safe evacuation of Afghans who helped our troops during our mission and those at special risk from the Taliban advance,” the president said in a statement Saturday.
