Why does the left not attack them for their response?
Louisiana had been leading the nation in the 7 day case rate per 100,000 at right around 700. Their numbers dropped over the past couple of days - but they still remain in the top two. They have a population that is nearly five times smaller than Florida which means that many times looking only at the raw numbers will tend to make people believe that the leader is Florida (not Louisiana).
Yesterday, for instance Florida had roughly 28000 new cases with a population of 21 million (00133 per person). Louisiana had 5500 new cases with a population of just over 4.6 million (00119 per person). Not much of a difference. But what does the press talk about? Yep! Florida!
Currently Florida has administered approximately 108 doses per person, putting them in the middle (slightly upper) portion of the states. Louisiana is in the bottom five with only about 82 doses per person. So their recent worst in the nation case spread is much more correlated with their lack of vaccination than Florida (which is ahead of the national average).
So why the obsession with Florida and Ron DeSantis and why the pass for Louisiana and Jon Edwards? Perhaps it is because one of them is a Republican with national asperations and another is a Democrats (who requires coddling and protection from the media).
Truth is that if this whole Covid attack had any real motivation other than political, then Edwards and Louisiana would be at least sharing the Center of attention, which because of partisan politics only allows for DeSantis and Florida to be attacked.
More to the point, the current strain of the virus appears to be regional at this point (as Covid has always been). Eventually it will move out of the Southeast and into other parts of the country. I will guess that our liberal press will only highlight those Republican states that become affected.

What's lacking is really good data from the CDC
I saw they misreported Florida's numbers again
Unexpectedly
You'd think after a year and a half they would have reporting down with substantive subsets.
Of course they don't
They want to control the narrative.
Hospitals across the southern United States are reporting dramatic surges in coronavirus patients, forcing some to close their emergency rooms and others to treat more patients than they have capacity for as the delta variant of the virus continues to wreak havoc on regions with large swaths of unvaccinated residents.
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) on Monday said the state had “very startling” figures showing the largest, single-day increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations since the pandemic began. He said state hospitals had just eight beds in the ICU left for severely ill patients.
In Louisiana, an epicenter of the current wave, hospitalizations were climbing at the fastest rate since the pandemic started. Last week, the head of the state’s largest hospital described recent weeks as the “darkest” thus far, saying doctors were no longer able to provide patients adequate care under a crush in admissions.
You singled out Louisiana because the governor is a Democrat.
https://news.yahoo.com/southern-hospitals-crushed-delta-strain-094749459.html
Florida reported similar circumstances, with many hospitals over capacity. The Wall Street Journal reported that at least 43% of the state’s intensive care beds are filled with coronavirus patients, prompting complex logistical issues as hospital workers race to find space for a tide of sick residents.
And in Texas several hospitals said they were closing their emergency rooms due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, directing patients elsewhere.
The delta variant has upended the country’s reopening plans, prompting cities and states nationwide to reinstate social distancing measures and mask mandates that were relaxed just months ago and meant to usher in an era of relative freedom. Now, COVID-19 cases are rising in every state in the U.S. and hit the highest levels this week since February, averaging more than 100,000 a day.
Many of the states with the biggest outbreaks have some of the nation’s lowest vaccination rates and are led by Republican governors and legislatures that have made it much more difficult to protect their citizens. In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has banned vaccine passports and mask mandates for some businesses and schools. Arkansas’ Hutchinson said he made an error when he barred new mask mandates in April, and Texas’ Greg Abbott (R) has faced revolt from some school districts who have threatened to sue over his order to ban mask mandates.
Vaccines are the best way to prevent severe cases of illness or death associated with COVID-19, and almost all of the country’s coronavirus fatalities are among unvaccinated people. But public health officials have expressed alarm that children could be susceptible amid a dual threat of the more infectious delta strain and the fact that the nation’s vaccines are only approved for those 12 and over.
It’s unclear if the delta variant causes more severe illness than previous strains, but more kids are winding up in the hospital.
Only half of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, but fears about the delta strain have prompted a renewed uptick in inoculations in some areas.

But too many Republican lawmakers want to keep the base happy instead of feeling concern for other people
Ron DeSantis is your new Trump.
He is a very authoritarian leader.
Taking away wages from people who want masking!

Busy news day.
An elections equipment manufacturer targeted by false conspiracy theories around the 2020 election is suing Newsmax and the owner of One American News Network (OANN), alleging the media outlets spread a deliberate disinformation campaign for profit.
Dominion Voting Systems is seeking about $1.6 billion in defamation damages from each of the two media outlets, both of which embraced various election conspiracy theories claiming that then-President Donald Trump should have won the 2020 election.
Dominion is also suing Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne, a prominent Trump supporter and election conspiracy theorist, for $1.6 billion.
The lawsuits add to Dominion's previous legal efforts to punish media outlets and individuals who spread the widely debunked theories. Dominion has previously sued Fox News, MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, and lawyers Sydney Powell and Rudy Giuliani over similar claims.
State and federal election officials and security experts repeatedly attested that the 2020 presidential election was safe and secure, and numerous audits have found no substantiated discrepancies that would affect the election results. But supporters of former have pushed numerous unsubstantiated theories to explain why he actually won the election, often by making claims that Dominion’s equipment was involved in various schemes to alter the vote count.
Bidenomics Sucks
Wow Roger...
You are correct!
Covid is going crazy under Joe Biden.
It's becoming a crisis!
What is the President doing about it?
He said he had a full proof plan to stop it in it's tracks.
he lied now people have died!
What is he going to do, Roger?
Roger...
Every time you post something that says Florida has low vaccination rates it is misinformation (actually a flat out lie).
I may have to use my freedom of speech first amendment rights to delete those lies?
What do you think?
Scott, he has been calling the governors every day and try to get them to accept reality and of masking and immunization, instead of tweets that make you scream in pleasure.
He has completely immunized 50%+
If Trump did that you would be cheering
Your partisan hypocrisy is getting worse
4,000 people died on January 20th
400 per day now
What is he going to do, Roger?
Well, he DID call a lid at 11:27 AM yesterday, so there's that.
Scott, he has been calling the governors every day and try to get them to accept reality and of masking and immunization, instead of tweets that make you scream in pleasure.
Who did he call yesterday and how many did he convince to change anything?
People who try and fail are still failures. Part of the job of President is to use your bully pulpit to convince and persuade people. The art of persuasion or the art of the deal, however you want to view it.
If the argument that Biden's repeated attempts to change policy at the state levels are coming up empty, but he deserves credit for "trying" - then I respectfully disagree.
If there is one job in this whole world where we do not reward effort, give that person a participation medal, or otherwise allow failure to be pushed off on others.... it's the United States Presidency.
Apparently Joe is just not up to the job, then, huh?
Masking?
That's not even supported by any data-driven, peer-reviewed science.
It remains the personal opinion of Phony Fauci. And from the pics I saw from the 0linsky B-Day party, masking has been roundly and soundly rejected by our elite ruling class.
What's amusing is how the left completely allows Biden to slide.
Yesterday the Reverend was suggesting that the Covid surge was not Biden's fault because his plan did not anticipate what actually happened. So his argument seemed to be that unless you can attack execution, that you cannot say a plan failed. The plan failed because it was set up for different circumstances and you cannot blame Joe for having the wrong plan.
Today, you have Nursing Home Rog admitting that Joe is trying (but failing) to use his authority and presence as President to convince people to bend to some sort of unknown will. His argument is apparently the opposite. That as long as Biden has any sort of plan, then his lack of execution cannot be seens as a failure.
So Reverend demands that a bad plan is not the President's fault.
Rog demands that bad execution is also not the President's fault.
Seems to me that Biden really had no previous plan (or he wouldn't have declared victory prematurely). He currently really doesn't have a real tangible plan (or we would know exactly what it is). His actions at this point ar 99.9% reactionary and lacking focus. What his supporters argue he is doing (trying to convince people of something) isn't working. But of course none of this is apparently his fault.
We can just call him blameless Biden!
Hey alky,
We have thousands of covid-positive illegal beaners streaming across the border like it's their fucking job.
How's about Slow Joe close THAT fucker in response to the recent upticks?
Or is the need for new democrat voters important enough to justify the risk.
Instead of wasting time calling and pleading with governors who think he's an idiot, perhaps he can address something actually within his control.

Barry’s 60th Birthday Bash Was an Appropriate F*ck You to Joe Biden. “This might actually be the first time Barry has done something positive for a country he hates and for the people of this country, who he hates even more. Honestly, if you think about it, the Obamas sent a great message to America… If you’re vaccinated, this pandemic is over. Don’t listen to the fear merchants. Don’t listen to Joe Biden. Go and live your life. Anyway, from the looks of it, the most toxic thing at Obama’s 60th birthday bash was Chrissy Teigen.”

Here's a thought -
Spend less time indicting sources that run counter to your ideologies, and more time defending your senile dear leader with facts, instead of bullshit from TPM and the NYT.
You know I miss typed.
I have never said that Sleepy Joe is perfect.
You have never said anything negative about Trump, even when he staged a coup. In fact you denied it on January 6th afternoon.
Of course, you worship at his feet!

Democrats COVID policy in 13 seconds.
over and over
but this is really blatant
You have forgotten when you blamed the Democratic Governors of New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island were at fault.
Well Roger... you sort of have that backwards. It was the media who attacked Trump and Republicans for Covid. Went after every Republican Governor who refused to shut down their states or call for mask mandates. Nobody in your media ever had a bad thing to say about Cuomo - hell, they wanted him to run for President.
All I ever did was show statistics that these red states were no more likely than blue states to see large amounts of cases and/or deaths. I was simply pointing out that in the grand scheme of things that more people per capita had died in New Jersey, New York, and other blue states.
Of course those numbers still haven't changed.
When I defend Florida, I am not criticizing New York. I am pointing out that New York (as we debate right now) has had 1.6 people die per capita for every 1 person who has died in Florida.
I am also pointing out that Florida's vaccination rates are actually above the national average and in the top half in states. Something you lie about almost every day by citing someone who "implies" that Florida's lack of vaccination are causing their surge. (If that was true there would be 27 other states with higher surges).
The problem Roger... as it has been from the start.
Is you don't like the data and what it tells us.
You prefer to lie about it (as you have been doing regarding Florida for the past couple of weeks).
I spend more time reading the right wing nutcase websites. Than the reality news. Because I generally agree with them.
I enjoy reading the crazy conspiracies website that you actually believe!

At long last, a federal infrastructure bill may be coming. And it’s not quite as terrible as it seemed it would be six months ago.
The Senate moved closer to passing a $1 trillion infrastructure package Saturday after lawmakers from both parties came together and voted to clear a key procedural hurdle, but the action soon stalled out as opponents tried to slow the rush to approve one of President Joe Biden’s top priorities. [Reuters]
The roughly $1 trillion bill includes about $550 billion in new spending over the next decade, which is a lot of money but far smaller than the $2.3 trillion plan the Biden Administration was promoting last spring. That plan famously defined essentially everything as “infrastructure” as long as a Democratic apparatchik got paid. Home care workers were infrastructure, art was infrastructure, and literally demolishing existing roads for being racist was infrastructure too.
Many Republicans will oppose the bill, for expanding the deficit or empowering federal agencies. But that opposition only captures part of the problem. The tragedy of the infrastructure bill is that it exposes how far America has fallen in its ability to even imagine achieving greatness.
In his remarks pushing the bill forward, President Biden compared the infrastructure bill to the Transcontinental Railroad and the Interstate Highway System. But making that direct comparison only drives home how feeble America’s ambitions have become as its decay worsens. Both of those projects were not merely large but dramatic undertakings, which radically remade the American life, turned a vast continent into an interconnected whole, and of course improved life substantially for ordinary people.
Nothing in this bill will do that. Here’s a couple examples of what this new infrastructure bill will buy you, the American taxpayer, and what a similar amount of money might buy you in America’s foremost rival, the People’s Republic of China.
They believe that the Chinese government and Hunter Biden are staging a coup
Actually, Roger , you post from.websites i have never heard or visted.

Unvaccinated Americans, disproportionately Republican Fox viewers, are fueling the surge, not migrants who are near 100 percent tested and quarantined if positive. Why not talk about the border crisis without dabbling in BS and racist tropes about immigrants.

Fewer than 10,000 Americans died with COVID under age 39. Thus, 98.4% of COVID deaths are 40 and over.
Also, 94% of COVID deaths have serious comorbidities. That would rule out US military members, no? So, about 600 healthy young adults died out of 175 million pop'n. 1/2
Given CDC *just* announced vaccinated can spread COVID, something that contradicts what CDC said in March, that would be cause for caution, yes?
So, vaccinating the entire US military, a bit risky, no?
Maybe I'm overthinking this. Or maybe our 'leaders' aren't thinking enough.
This needs to be stopped.
Has Biden gotten up yet ?
