House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff [D-CA] said it was “very unlikely” that the U.S. completes its evacuation of Afghanistan by the Aug. 31 deadline.
“I think it’s possible but I think it’s very unlikely given the number of Americans who still need to be evacuated,” Schiff told reporters outside of The Capitol on Monday. “It’s hard for me to imagine that all of that can be accomplished between now and the end of the month.
The bigger problem is that Aug 31st is not really the deadline for evacuations, it's the deadline for all American troops to be out of the country. Unless the Taliban provides the United States with some mercy here, they will need to be wrapping up the evacuations by the end of the week, just so they can start moving out their military (which might take a couple of days).
So we might only have four or five days left and the State Department is "still" telling most Americans in the country to stay put. What changes are we expecting between now and then?
Well for one, the Biden administration has brought a top boot licker out to Afghanistan to kneel and beg before the Taliban and ask them to allow us the courtesy to actually get our people out of their country. Make no mistake, this is back to being the Taliban's country again. Just like it was back on the original 9-11 as they were harboring Al Qaeda and Bin Laden.

Unvaccinated people are about 29 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid-19 when compared to those who are fully vaccinated, according to a study released Tuesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The new study, published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, also found that the unvaccinated were nearly five times more likely to be infected with Covid than people who got the shots. The results are based on data from Los Angeles county between May 1 and July 25, the agency said.
You won't believe this
Modern technology gives us the ability to monitor terrorists like al Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan
Plus they have zero money to run the country forward.
I suspect that somewhere that we actually are negotiating with the Taliban, because they want to govern Afghanistan.
The President will not extend the deadline.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressing G7 leaders
Today, 24 August 2021, under the Presidency of the United Kingdom, we the Leaders of the Group of Seven met virtually to discuss the situation in Afghanistan. We were joined by the Secretaries General of the United Nations (UN) and NATO. We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to the people of Afghanistan, and support the UN Security Council statement of 16 August. We express our grave concern about the situation in Afghanistan and call for calm and restraint to ensure the safety and security of vulnerable Afghan and international citizens, and the prevention of a humanitarian crisis. We call for adherence to obligations under international human rights law, including the rights of women, girls, and minority groups, and that international humanitarian law is upheld in all circumstances. We honour the significant sacrifices made by the Afghan people, people of our own countries, and countless others, who have worked toward a more peaceful, just and secure future for Afghanistan.
The Afghan people deserve to live in dignity, peace and security, reflecting the last two decades of their political, economic and social achievements, in particular for women and girls. Afghanistan must never again become a safe haven for terrorism, nor a source of terrorist attacks on others. Working with partners, in particular NATO allies, we will continue to fight terrorism with resolve and solidarity, wherever it is found. Any future Afghan government must adhere to Afghanistan’s international obligations and commitment to protect against terrorism; safeguard the human rights of all Afghans, particularly women, children, and ethnic and religious minorities; uphold the rule of law; allow unhindered and unconditional humanitarian access; and counter human and drug trafficking effectively. We call on all parties in Afghanistan to work in good faith to establish an inclusive and representative government, including with the meaningful participation of women and minority groups.
We affirm our enduring commitment to the people of Afghanistan, including through a renewed humanitarian effort by the international community. To this end we support the UN in coordinating the immediate international humanitarian response in the region, including unfettered humanitarian access in Afghanistan, and will contribute collectively to that response. As part of that, we will cooperate together and with neighbouring and other countries in the region on supporting Afghan refugees and host communities as part of a coordinated long-term regional response. We call on all partners of Afghanistan to support this effort and wider regional stability through multilateral channels.
As part of this, our immediate priority is to ensure the safe evacuation of our citizens and those Afghans who have partnered with us and assisted our efforts over the past twenty years, and to ensure continuing safe passage out of Afghanistan. We will continue to coordinate closely on this, and we expect all parties to continue to facilitate this, and to ensure the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel, and other international service providers. We will cooperate together, and with neighbouring and other countries in the region hosting refugees, on a coordinated approach to safe and legal routes for resettlement.
We will work together, and with our allies and regional countries, through the UN, G20 and more widely, to bring the international community together to address the critical questions facing Afghanistan. As we do this, we will judge the Afghan parties by their actions, not words. In particular, we reaffirm that the Taliban will be held accountable for their actions on preventing terrorism, on human rights in particular those of women, girls and minorities and on pursuing an inclusive political settlement in Afghanistan. The legitimacy of any future government depends on the approach it now takes to uphold its international obligations and commitments to ensure a stable Afghanistan.

The real coldheartedtruth news
WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden intends to stick to the current Aug. 31 deadline to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, leaving a narrow timeline to finish evacuating Americans and Afghan allies, according to multiple senior administration officials.
There is a contingency plan in place to stay longer if the mission requires it, the sources told NBC News.
After a chaotic start, the pace of evacuations has increased in recent days, but officials have previously expressed skepticism that everyone seeking to leave will be out by the deadline.
Biden has faced criticism in recent weeks at home and abroad for his handling of the withdrawal after the Taliban rapidly took control of the country, sending Americans and Afghan who aided the war effort scrambling to leave the country and escape the Taliban.
The military advised Biden that he needed to make a decision on whether to extend the withdrawal deadline by Tuesday in order to allow enough time for the roughly 6,000 troops and the small number of embassy staff to leave, according to two U.S. officials.
The pace of evacuations has increased in recent days, with roughly 21,600 people being evacuated on Monday according to the Pentagon. Since August 14, the U.S. has evacuated and facilitated the evacuation of approximately 58,700 people and has re-located approximately 63,900 people since the end of July.

Exclusive: Americans' harsh judgment on Afghanistan costs Biden's approval, down to 41%
For President Joe Biden, the cost of the war's chaotic end has been steep. His overall job approval rating now stands at 41% who approve versus 55% who disapprove – a big drop in the closely watched barometer of political health. Until last week, national polls generally showed his approval rating above 50%.
Now, while he has held the backing of 87% of Democrats, only 32% of independents say he's doing a good job
But don't worry. Roger, James, and Bwww say this issue will disappear by Election Day.
I'm not going to assume anything because it's a very fluid situation.

WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Monday that if he were governor, he would let employers and school boards decide whether to implement mask and vaccine mandates.
McConnell appeared to be implicitly taking issue with Republican governors including Ron DeSantis of Florida and Greg Abbott of Texas who had previously announced bans on such mandates that are now being legally challenged in courts.
A Stark Difference in Vaccination Rates
A new NBC News finds 69% of adults surveyed say they’ve been vaccinated.
That breaks down to 91% of those who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 but just 50% of those who voted for Donald Trump.

President Joe Biden doesn’t deserve the blame for the Taliban taking over Afghanistan. However, he is at fault for the disorderly, dangerous and chaotic end to the U.S. involvement.
The original, and tragic, strategic miscalculation in Afghanistan was made by President George W. Bush. He repeated the error in Iraq.
After the 9/11 attack, the U.S. decided to chase the Taliban from power, since they had harbored al Qaeda. We succeeded quickly at minimum cost and without landing an invasion force. Through cash, intelligence and air support, we tilted the balance of power in a preexisting low-grade civil war against the Taliban.
The Bush administration decided that Saddam Hussein in Iraq was a threat to allow weapons of mass destruction to be used against the United States. We did land an invasion force in Iraq, which quickly deposed Hussein, again at minimal cost and with very limited U.S. casualties.
I supported the engagement in Afghanistan but opposed the Iraq invasion as an imprudent use of military power, arguing that it was too early to give up on containing Saddam through other means.
Man has gut-wrenching message for Joe Biden:

The Afghanistan Debacle Is Exposing President Biden’s Descent Into Unreality
As the situation in Kabul deteriorates, the Biden administration seems increasingly untethered to reality, boasting about an evacuation gone haywire and lying about stranded Americans.
By John Daniel Davidson
Americans are stranded in Afghanistan. That’s a fact. You don’t have to have special military clearance to know it, or access to classified information, or be in contact with Americans in Kabul or elsewhere in Afghanistan. All you have to do is follow the news
Truth hurts, eh alky?
Geezus, even Schitt can't be goaded into lying about THIS one.
LOL.
This kind of blatant dissimulation has become a disturbing pattern. By any measure, President Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal has devolved into an unprecedented and embarrassing disaster that seems to get worse by the day. But instead of acknowledging what news reports and social media clearly show — Americans stranded, deadly chaos at the airport, Afghans rushing the gates — the Biden administration is displaying an inability or unwillingness to answer questions or even talk about the evacuation in a way that’s tethered to reality.
Psaki and other White House officials are of course trying to claim that because planes are still taking off from Kabul, no one is in fact “stranded” — at least not yet. They will likely keep repeating this incredible line until the very last plane leaves, at which point they will claim there are no Americans still trapped in Afghanistan even if every news outlet is showing the opposite.
There’s something otherworldly about all of this, an echo of the Iraqi information minister, “Baghad Bob,” who during the 2003 invasion of Iraq infamously boasted there were no U.S. tanks in Baghdad even as U.S. tanks rolled through the city just blocks away from the news conference where he was speaking.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a band of Democratic centrists are finalizing a deal that would clear the way for passage of the party's $3.5 trillion budget framework and set a Sept. 27 House vote on infrastructure — an offer both sides hope will end their weekslong standoff.
After several hours of furious negotiating Monday night, Pelosi and her team are close to announcing the compromise, which they hope to put on the floor as soon as Tuesday afternoon, according to several people familiar with discussions. Most, if not all, of the recalcitrant moderates — led by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J..) — were expected to accept the deal and back the budget blueprint on the floor later Tuesday, though terms are not yet finalized.
So Roger...
Basically the incompetent and political U.N. is having to take over where the United States fucked up. Even though this was a U.S. withdrawal and not a U.N. withdrawal.
How humiliating when you have the U.N. attempting to save the day because the United States fucked it up that bad.
Poor alky.
Every report coming out of Afghanistan that doesn't fit his pre-determined false narrative is 'Pravda.'
I don't think we have seen "good news" coming out of Afghanistan at all. Old Rog just C&P stuff from friendly news sources probably believing that they are saying something good... when in fact it's not.
There is nothing "positive" about the fact that our fuck up is requiring the U.N. (of all places) to try to jump in and save the day. It only amplifies that what we did and what we are currently doing and what we are expected to do are all failures.
I just got off the phone with a colleague whose nephew shipped out to Kabul last week. He was already on base for PT, prepped with full gear and ready to go. Didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to his wife and kids.
God, I hope he get's home alive.
With this fuckstick as C in C he has to be nervous as a whore in church.
