So generally it takes two years to get a full approval from the FDA for any drug. The reason it takes two years is because the FDA believes it needs two years of full testing before they can fully understand the side effects and success rate of a drug.
Now it's one thing to develop a drug quickly and even to get an emergency approval for quick use. But what is the point of providing "full approval" if in fact the FDA did not go through the process of actually fully approving it?
Well the point is that there is a stigma attached to the Government or anyone else providing a vaccine "mandate" to a vaccine that is in the experimental stages. To be clear, any and every vaccine or drug remains in the experimental category for two years after it is first released for testing or emergency use.
So we ignore the two year rule and we just "say" it is fully approved, even when it does not muster the FDA's own criteria for being fully approved. The reason? So those who would like to mandate the vaccination for a variety of reasons can now say it is fully approved (rather than experimental).
This, of course, is akin to simply declaring a person who is actually fourteen years and six months old to be sixteen, because you want to give them a driver's license. You can declare it so, but the reality is that the driver will still be 18 months younger than the age required to drive. The certificate saying differently is direct conflict with reality.
The Pfizer vaccine has gone through 6 of the required 24 months of testing. It is technically fully approved. But it is still 18 months away from the FDA definition of fully approved.

Vaccine experts reacted positively Monday to the FDA's approval of Pfizer-BioNTech's vaccine, now called Comirnaty.
“This confirms the safety and incredible effectiveness of this vaccine," Dr. Richard Besser, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and former acting director of the CDC, said in a statement. "I am hopeful that full approval will address any remaining concerns and will move many people to a ‘yes’ on vaccination."
He said the timing of full approval is crucial, with delta continuing to "drive up caseloads and deaths across the U.S." With delta accounting for virtually all cases, Americans have reported an average of 130,000 new infections every day for the last week and more than 700 deaths.
“FDA’s full approval today of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is great news and it marks a major accomplishment for humanity," Dr. Jesse Goodman, professor of medicine and infectious diseases at Georgetown University Medical Center said in a statement.

The funny thing is that nobody can really disagree with what I am pointing out.
The reality is that the FDA is violating their own standards to provide "full approval" of the vaccines because they want more people vaccinated.
We ignore the recommendation of the World Health Organization and all sorts of studies regarding the flaws in masking children in order to "require" children to be masked, even as less than have as many children have died from Covid than from simple pneumonia since the beginning of the crisis.
There seems to be a one-sided logic that places the concept of restricting Covid ahead of pretty much any and all other things.
How many of the 361 children under the age of 17 who have died from Covid would have been prevented by harsher measures, vs the complete and absolute social and educational sacrifices these children have had to make... largely over the objections of parents and based on the demands of your teacher's union.
More to the point... if we are willing to shut down schools because of 361 national Covid deaths, why do we not shut down schools permanently due to over twice that many pneumonia deaths yearly?

Federal health officials are expected Wednesday to present evidence for why people are likely to need Covid-19 boosters eight months after their second doses of a vaccine, according to sources with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The eight-month time frame is most likely based on findings from both the U.S. and abroad looking at how the vaccines have held up over time — and whether they can stand up to the hypertransmissible delta variant of the coronavirus that has overtaken the country.

“Delta is forcing this discussion” on boosters, said Dr. Colleen Kraft, associate chief medical officer at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
The variant now accounts for nearly 100 percent of new Covid-19 cases in the U.S., according to the CDC. The seven-day average of Covid-19 cases has soared by 700 percent since the beginning of July, when delta became the dominant strain in the U.S.

Questions remain about how well the vaccines fare against the delta variant, as well as whether protection simply wanes over time. Indeed, experts said they are eager to see any new data that led to the government’s proposed timeline for booster shots.
Data from countries that began their vaccination campaigns before the U.S. provide important clues to when boosters might be needed here.
Limited research from Israel, one of the first countries to begin widespread vaccination, which has almost exclusively used the vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech, is likely to have played a role in the administration's expected rollout of timing for booster doses, doctors said.
“The data are strongly suggestive that people who got vaccinated early in Israel — that is, in January — are seeing infections in the vaccinated at a higher rate than people who got vaccinated in April,” said Dr. Sankar Swaminathan, chief of the infectious diseases division at University of Utah Health.
Data posted on the Israeli Health Ministry’s website indicate that the vaccines administered to people over age 65 in January now offer just 55 percent protection against severe illness.
That’s a concern, particularly with how contagious the delta variant is, said an expert in pulmonary and critical care, Dr. Benjamin Singer, an assistant professor of medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
The variant has been associated with breakthrough infections, and while such infections are rare and generally much less severe, studies indicate that fully vaccinated people can spread the virus if infected.

As for why the booster shots would be recommended at eight months, Singer said, “it’s not entirely clear, but it’s probably a combination of waning immunity over time and the fact the current circulating variants are just that much more contagious and spread that much more easily.”
Still, the data from Israel come with caveats. Swaminathan said those who got vaccinated the earliest there were in high-risk populations, who may already carry a higher chance of getting breakthrough infections, making it unclear whether their risk of infection or hospitalization eight months out would match that of the general population.
Dr. Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and co-director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development, said, “All we’re getting is snippets of data on the Israel Ministry of Health website.” He said he was curious whether, in addition to a decline in efficacy against mild infections, there was a significant drop in protection against hospitalizations for vaccinated people over time.
John Grabenstein, a former executive director of medical affairs for vaccines at Merck, as well as a former immunologist for the Defense Department, agreed that more data need to be presented.

Stocks were higher Monday following a volatile week on Wall Street, led by reopening stocks as the Food and Drug Administration approved its first Covid-19 vaccine.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 263 points, or 0.75%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose 1% and 1.6%, respectively, to all-time highs.
The major averages are coming off a losing week as investors grew worried that the Fed’s potential move to pull back monetary stimulus could slow down the economic recovery that is already challenged by the spread of the delta Covid-19 variant.
“Markets may take a breather after their recent run, but strong Q2 results have provided a fundamental justification and reinforced our confidence in the sustainability of the recovery,” according to Barclays.
Shares of vaccine makers traded higher Monday after the FDA granted full approval for the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for Covid-19. Pfizer shares rose 2.9%. Stand-by for the Real Insurrection… by the Democrats

People will put up with a little absentmindedness or occasional faux pas. But when creeping senility puts lives at risk and national interests in jeopardy, that’s entirely different.
When it was clear Joe Biden’s victory would stand up, it was obvious to me that Biden’s mental troubles, to frame it gently, would result in him being out of office one way or another within six months of his swearing-in. By then, the Trojan Horse would have served his purpose. Democrats would control all three branches of government and have pushed through many fundamental changes.
Biden did his share. He signed a record number of executive orders, many of questionable constitutionality. But now, as has been so painfully and obviously illuminated by the Afghanistan debacle, the president’s competence and reliability are dramatically compromised by clearly advancing symptoms of old age.
Consequently, we are about to witness a genuine insurrection that will put Jan. 6, 2020, into proper perspective. The unruly mob that stormed the Capitol was weak tea. Even its most militant participants never intended to overthrow the government. Their purpose was simply to have votes recounted and verified, which still hasn’t been done.
What looms today is far more serious, infinitely more calculated, and definitely more likely to achieve its goal: to replace a sitting president in mid-term, probably against his will. It ain’t gonna be pretty. It has the real possibility of resembling a banana republic coup d'état.

The deadline for troops to withdraw from Afghanistan is just days away and the desperate evacuation of people is running out of time.
The Taliban has met with Sky News in Doha to discuss what happens next - and issued a stark warning about the withdrawal of troops from the country.
Taliban spokesperson Dr Suhail Shaheen said: "It's a red line. President Biden announced that on 31 August they would withdraw all their military forces. So if they extend it that means they are extending occupation while there is no need for that."
He added: "If the US or UK were to seek additional time to continue evacuations - the answer is no. Or there would be consequences. It will create mistrust between us. If they are intent on continuing the occupation it will provoke a reaction."
Speaking after the interview, US Department of Defence press secretary John Kirby said: "We have seen the public statements by the Taliban spokesman about their views on 31 August, I think we all understand that view."
He added: "The goal is to get as many people out as fast as possible, and while we're glad to see the numbers that we got yesterday, we're not going to rest on any laurels.
"The focus is on trying to do this as best we can by the end of the month and as the Secretary [of Defence] said, if there needs - if we need, if he needs - to have additional conversations with the Commander in Chief about that timeline, he'll do that but we're just not at that point right now."
It comes as Boris Johnson is set to personally plead with Joe Biden to extend a deadline for US troops leaving Afghanistan to allow more people to flee the reign of terror of the Taliban.

The select House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol plans to ask telecommunications companies to turn over the records of several hundred people, including lawmakers, committee chair Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) told reporters Monday.
Thompson declined to identify which lawmakers would be sought in the probe, but said the committee is reaching out to tech and communications companies as well as social media platforms.
“We have quite an exhaustive list of people. I won't tell you who they are, but it's several hundred people that make up the list of people we are planning to contact,” he said when asked if the list included family members of former President Trump .
CNN was the first to report on the committee's plan.
Thompson previously told reporters that the committee may use the August recess to issue subpoenas, but on Monday Thompson said the letters being drafted would instead notify the companies to retain the records.
His confirmation that lawmaker records would be sought is sure to renew focus on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and staunch Trump defender Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).
