BIden's multi part plan?

It was something like this
  • Mandate Federal workers to vaccinate
  • Mandate private company workers to vaccinate
  • Mandate the unemployed to vaccinate
  • Mandate those too young to work to vaccinate
  • Mandate retired to vaccinate
I guess you got to give him credit for coming up multiple plans for the same basic plan. I actually thought that multi-part plan might include something other than vaccination mandates. It's getting fairly clear that there really will never come a day when Biden will offer anything "new" in the concept of slowing down Covid.

The Federal Employee/Contractor Mandate

Finally, the administration will require all federal employees and “employees of contractors that do business with the federal government” to be vaccinated.

According to the Associated Press, the federal employee and contractor mandate will not have an option for covered workers to test out.

Shapiro was adamant that the contractor mandate also presented “no constitutional issue since contracting with the government is voluntary.”

“You don’t have to do it, but if you do it you’re subject to the conditions that the government establishes for such contracting,” he explained. “Again, the issue is one of statutory authority. My understanding is that the government generally can impose health and safety requirements on government contractors under existing law.”

“[T]here is one obvious source of statutory authority here,” Hills added. “The 1949 Procurement Act provides that the President is responsible for administering ‘an economical and efficient system for the procurement and supply of personal property and non-personal services.’ It is well-established that, subject to statutory limits, the President can, through the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (in the Department of Labor) can make rules to carry out this general statutory duty.”

If he had used the last three steps they would not be constitutional.

Mandate the unemployed to vaccinate

Mandate those too young to work to vaccinate

Mandate retired to vaccinate

The President doesn't have the authority to enforce those three.

School officials who have their pay withheld over defying state mask mandate bans will be reimbursed.

President Joe Biden announced Thursday that the federal government will restore 100% of pay to educators.

The announcement is a seeming response to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' previous threats to withhold salaries.

He has the authority to do them

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Scott he has a plan !!!!!°

Other than to put the unvaccinated on notice, the purpose of Thursday’s speech was the announcement of six measures intended to increase vaccination rates and hasten the end of the current surge, if not of the entire pandemic. The measures included, most notably, a requirement that all federal employees and contractors get vaccinated, with no exemptions.

Biden also called on the Department of Labor to issue a rule requiring all private businesses employing more than 100 people to mandate vaccinations for their workers, or to administer weekly testing for those who refuse. Hospitals that participate in the federal Medicaid and Medicare programs must also vaccinate their estimated 17 million employees.

Those actions alone, the administration believes, could result in the vaccination of as many as 100 million people, though it is not yet clear how the new orders will be enforced. Federal employees, for example, will have to attest to having been vaccinated. But they will not have to show proof of vaccination.

A sign warning that theatergoers must be vaccinated is posted at the entrance of Nighthawk Cinema on Wednesday in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images)More

The new measures also include a preparation for offering booster shots to recipients of the two-dose mRNA vaccines; the Pfizer vaccine, in particular, appears not to be as effective against Delta. Booster shots are nevertheless contingent on approval from the Food and Drug Administration, which has not yet been granted.

“As soon as they are authorized, those eligible will be able to get a booster right away,” Biden said, although he provided few details about the timing. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy had previously said that boosters would begin to be administered on Sept. 20, but it is not clear that Biden will be able to keep to that timeline.

In an effort to keep schools open, Biden also promised to reimburse school districts that have imposed mask mandates in contravention of the bans by Republican governors enjoining school districts not to make facial coverings mandatory. He also called on states to require vaccines for all school employees, which some Democratic governors have already done and which most Republican governors have declined to do.

“Vaccination requirements in schools are nothing new,” the president noted. “They work.”He added that employees of the federally funded early education Head Start program must also get their shots.

To shore up the economic recovery, Biden said his administration will increase the maximum amount small businesses can borrow from a COVID-related fund from $500,000 to $2 million. He also announced that he would use the Defense Production Act to boost production of rapid, at-home diagnostic tests, which some experts believe have been underused, as an effective means of detecting infections. Those tests, he said, will soon be widely available — at affordable prices — at major retailers such as Walmart and Kroger. The federal government will also increase shipments of monoclonal antibodies to states. The treatments can help people suffering from symptomatic COVID-19 illness and have been used widely in some states, such as Florida.

In addition, Biden said that the Transportation Safety Administration would double fines for people who “refuse to mask.” Scenes of passengers confronting and assaulting airline attendants who ask them to don facial coverings have gone viral on social media throughout the summer, adding an unwelcome new dimension to pandemic travel.

“By the way, show some respect,” the president said angrily to the instigators of such scenes. It was a message in keeping with the evening’s tone, which alternated between prodding, recrimination and, last of all, the promise of better days ahead.

“We have the tools,” Biden said toward the end of his remarks. “Now we just have to finish the job.

I didn't, for one very simple reason -

The mandate, for anything, is the default position of liberalism. Their ideas - be it mandates for gas cans, light bulbs, or vaccines - are as a rule so so ill-informed, piss poor and without merit, they must be made mandatory. This is why control of the courts is always a top priority.

Anyone who did not see tyrannical mandates coming from this regime was either giving them too much credit, or they weren't paying attention.

The pile of dry tinder upon which this nation rests grows larger with each arrogant utterance coming from this band of fools. And they will rue the day when those of us who just want to be left the fuck alone rise up and say enough.

Australia was able to return to their original status as a penal colony because they had the foresight to disarm their populace many years before.

Precisely.

Note the not-so sleight of hand. Traitor Joe exempted those deemed reliable democrat voters -

200,000 USPS employees and every single criminal illegal beaner.

This has nothing to do with the virus and has everything to do with the 2022 mid-term elections...

According to FiveThirtyEight, Biden's approval rating sits at 45%, with 49% disapproving. Those numbers closely mirror Bill Clinton's at the same point in his presidency, and are worse than Obama's numbers in 2009.

Why does that matter?

Because Clinton lost 54 House seats and Obama lost 63.

One Democratic strategist explained to Newsweek that the party has no margin for error because of their razor-thin majority in the House -- just eight seats.

The strategist described the party as "competitive" in the midterm elections if Biden is at 51% approval, headed for a good outcome if he stands at 53%, but poised to lose the House and Senate if he's at 49% or below.

"Swing districts are three to four points more Republican than national polling," the source said. "If Biden is down five to six points in swing districts, that's how Democrats lose 30, 40 or 50 seats."

Sept. 9, 2021
WASHINGTON — President Biden’s aggressive move to expand the number of vaccinated Americans and halt the spread of the Delta variant is not just an effort to save lives. It is also an attempt to counter the continuing and evolving threat that the virus poses to the economy.

of restaurant visits, airline travel and other services show consumers pulled back on some face-to-face spending in recent weeks

Delta’s rise has been fueled in part by the inability of Mr. Biden and his administration to persuade millions of vaccine-refusing Americans to inoculate themselves against the virus. That has created another problem: a drag on the economic recovery. Real-time gauges of restaurant visits, airline travel and other services

After weeks of playing down the threat that a new wave of infections posed to the recovery, the president and his team blamed Delta for slowing job growth in August. “We’re in a tough stretch,” he conceded on Thursday, after heralding the economic progress made under his administration so far this year, “and it could last for a while.”

The virus threatens the recovery even though consumers and business owners are not retrenching the way they did when the coronavirus began to spread in the United States in the spring of 2020. Far fewer states and cities have imposed restrictions on business activity than in previous waves, and administration officials vowed on Thursday that the nation would not return to “lockdowns or shutdowns.”

The president has exhausted his patience.

He had tried all the incentives and emotional exhortations and even red-white-and-blue appeals to the patriotism that beats in American hearts. Yet, at least in his estimation, not enough people listened: One-fourth of those eligible still have not rolled up their sleeves, bared their arms, and voluntarily taken their COVID shots.

“What more is there to wait for? What more do you need to see?” an exasperated Joe Biden asked the unvaccinated on Thursday. “We’ve made vaccinations free, safe, and convenient. The vaccine has FDA approval. Over 200 million Americans have gotten at least one shot.”

But Biden won’t wait for an answer to his questions. He and his administration are done with the coaxing. Now, the president has picked up the stick by announcing new vaccine mandates.

Employers with more than 100 workers will be required to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or else provide weekly testing for the virus under penalty of stiff fines. Any health care provider that receives federal Medicare or Medicaid dollars must do the same. Anyone boarding a flight must wear a mask or incur a doubled fine, courtesy of the TSA.

How did it come to this? Biden explained not only the need for the sweeping mandates but also said exactly who is to blame. “This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” he said, “and it’s caused by the fact that despite America having an unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months free vaccines have been available in 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot.”

He scolded the unvaccinated: “Our patience is wearing thin and your refusal has cost all of us.” He dared Republican governors to try and stop him: “If these governors won’t help us beat the pandemic, I’ll use my power as president to get them out of the way.”

And he changed a course he set long ago.

While president-elect, Biden was asked about mandatory vaccinations just weeks after the first successful vaccine trials were announced. “No, I don’t think it should be mandatory. I wouldn’t demand it be mandatory,” he said in December, adding, “But I would do everything in my power — just like I don’t think masks have to be made mandatory nationwide — I will do everything in my power as president of the United States to encourage people to do the right thing.”

That voluntary route had seemed to work. The president told a crowd gathered at the White House to watch Fourth of July fireworks that “we are closer than ever to declaring our independence from a deadly virus.” The crowd wasn’t masked. Neither was Biden. He was confident, and he was conciliatory. “Please, if you haven’t gotten vaccinated, do it,” he pleaded. “Do it now, for yourself, for your loved ones, for your community and for your country.”

Even when the delta variant of the coronavirus started burning across the country, the White House stuck to that message and that tone. When asked if the president should start blaming the unvaccinated, as Republican Gov. Kay Ivey had done in Alabama at the end of July, press secretary Jen Psaki was definitive. “Well, I don’t think our role is to place blame, but what we can do is provide accurate information to people.”

Should the federal government step in and issue vaccine mandates, she was asked. “That’s not the role of the federal government,” Psaki replied. “That is the role that institutions, private sector entities, and others may take. That certainly is appropriate.” Lest there be any confusion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky insisted on July 30 that “there will be no federal mandate.”

Since then, the president has overcome his mandate allergy.

Producer inflation accelerated in August, as wholesale prices rose record 8.3% from a year ago

PUBLISHED FRI, SEP 10 20218:32 AM EDTUPDATED 3 MIN AGO

Jeff Cox@JEFF.COX.7528@JEFFCOXCNBCCOM

Prices that producers get for final demand goods and services surged in August at their highest annual rate since at least 2010, the Labor Department reported Friday.

The producer price index accelerated 0.7% for the month, above the 0.6% Dow Jones estimate.

On a year-over-year basis, the gauge rose 8.3%, which is the biggest annual increase since records have been kept going back to November 2010.

The data comes amid heightened inflation fears fed by supply chain issues, a shortage of various consumer and producer goods and heightened demand related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Federal Reserve officials expect inflationary pressures to ease through the year, but they have remained stubbornly persistent.

Excluding food, energy and trade services, final demand prices increased 0.3% for the month, below the 0.5% Dow Jones estimate. Still, that left core PPI up 6.3% from a year ago, also the largest record increase for data going back to August 2014.

Final demand services rose 0.7% for the month, thanks to a 1.5% gain in trade services, or the margins received by wholesalers and retailers. Transportation and warehousing costs surged 2.8%.

About one-third of the overall gain came from health, beauty and optical goods, which jumped 7.8%. Prices related to outpatient hospital care held back the gains, falling 1.5%,

Democrats always hate Americans who won’t bend the knee more than foreigners who want Americans dead.

Plus, from the comments: “Delta spike appears to be fizzling. So Biden demands mass vaxxing right away, so he can claim his plan broke a spike that appears to be fizzling on its own.”

We are ruled by hacks, opportunists, and incompetents.

This variant does appear to have peaked in some key areas including Florida and California

Hence the panic

Weeks ago we were told hospitals were overwhelmed and full

Now the same messages but the locations have changed

And we kn ow Biden takes credit for anything and everything positive

That's the only buck that he claims credit for

Man, given how Democrats make every issue out to be about fighting white supremacy, they sure are silent when a white woman wearing a monkey mask attacks a black man running for governor.

Seems to be that all of his eggs are in the vaccination basket.

It's getting fairly clear that there really will never come a day when Biden will offer anything stupid and unscientific in the concept of slowing down Covid.

By that, you probably mean the variety of treatments successfully being used by 80-90% of the world that our FDA will not approve?

Are those the unscientific offers you refer to?

Because the vast majority of scientist and medical doctors WORLDWIDE will disagree with you.

I caught the majority of the NFL game last night

After a while I noticed they were doing zero crowd shots, even none with the cheerleaders

Then I remembered it was in Florida and NBC probably directed the crew not to show a huge crowd of maskless attendees.

Yep.

The only thing the Biden regime has excelled at is politicizing the virus. With a HUGE assist from the MSM, I might add.

The FDA approves the vaccines in 6 months, a full 18 months AHEAD of standard vaccine testing and approval protocol, and we're all supposed to make one collective leap of faith and take their word for it...

...because our government has never, ever, ever EVER lied to us before.

What kind of lies do governments tell their citizens?

I'm glad you asked -

DECEIVING THE PUBLIC

The Nazis frequently used propaganda to disguise their political aims and deceive the German and international public. They depicted Germany as the victim of Allied and Jewish aggression to hide their true ideological goals and to justify war and violence against innocent civilians.

Tomorrow the slogan "Never Forget" will be repeated countless times.

Think about that in the context of what's being imposed on us today:

They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

Some interesting logic/facts from the banned former NYT reporter

More mush from the wimp
Jimmy Biden promises to do for Covid what he did for Afghanistan

Alex Berenson
Sep 10

The speech started with a lie and didn’t get better.

“Good evening,” Uncle Joe told us. Evening? It was 5 p.m. in Washington and 2 p.m. in Los Angeles. Near bedtime for our president, I suppose.

In the 27 minutes that followed, Biden managed to choke out one fact: over 1,000 fully vaccinated Americans were hospitalized with Covid every day this summer -which likely means the current number is considerably higher.

How do I know? The White House spinmasters, aided by the New York Times, are now resorting to calculating Covid infection and hospitalization risk for vaccinated people on a per-day basis.

This statistic is so nonsensical as to be almost comic. Practically any risk will seem tiny over a single 24-hour period. To take just one example: a 90-year-old woman has a 1 in 8 chance of dying before she turns 91. But her risk of death per day is only about 1 in 3,000 (not far from the 1 in 5,000 per day risk the Times has calculated for a vaccinated person to get Covid).

So when Biden said the risks of being hospitalized with Covid if you’re fully vaccinated are 1 in 160,000 per day, what he meant was that upwards of 1,000 vaccinated people are now being hospitalized every day. At least.

Because the vaccines work!

That aside, the speech was what we’ve come to know as classic Biden - loud and empty, in the style of Brezhnev or a late Roman emperor whose name no one knows. If he’d really been serious about forcing unvaccinated people to take the shot, he would have announced a vaccine requirement for air and other interstate travel and entry to federal buildings. Remember, he’s required you to wear a mask to fly - he could at least try to force a vaccine.

But whether because of airline lobbying or because he fears the Supreme Court is done with Covid nonsense - as it pretty clearly showed in striking down the ridiculous eviction ban last month - he didn’t. Instead he once again leaned on companies to do what he cannot. But only companies with more than 100 employees.

To quote my two-year-old - Because why? The ro don’t care about small companies, I guess.

But the plan does have one truly disastrous element: the vaccine mandate for health care workers. The current hospital crisis has little (or nothing) to do with Covid hospitalizations, vaxxed or unvaxxed, and everything to do with the fact that a large fraction of nurses and other medical staff would rather quit than be vaccinated. A fact all by itself should cause you to question both the seriousness of Covid for healthy adults and the usefulness of the vaccines.

So, yeah, last evening’s speech was a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing (unless you plan to visit a hospital in the next few months, good luck with that).

At least he didn’t mention Beau, though. That was a win.

There’s no limit to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ cynicism when it comes to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. His sick, misleading messaging, too often flippantly delivered, matters.

This week, in one of his make-believe-I-care press conferences, DeSantis had the gall to feign ignorance about the key role he has played fueling a political culture war around masks.
But it’s not fine.

There are families like mine having to test their children for COVID — for the second time since school started — because half the charter school they attend

The school owners follow the governor as fervently as they did Donald Trump.

Consequently, some unmasked children in our children’s classrooms have tested positive, starting a never-ending cycle of angst, quarantine and testing, which is

“I don’t know why the masks have politics around it,” DeSantis told journalists. “Let the parent make the decision that’s best for their kids. If you want the masks, do it, if you don’t, don’t — that’s fine.”

A rational Republican
the battle over the new Biden mandates explodes, here are six quick takes:

(1) Biden made no attempt to hide his frustration. The administration’s dramatic about-face on the question of mandates reflects its belief that the Delta variant poses an existential threat to the nation’s health, the economic recovery, and the fate of his presidency. Yesterday, he said:

This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.  And it’s caused by the fact that despite America having an unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months free vaccines have been available in 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot.

And to make matters worse, there are elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against COVID-19.  Instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated and mask up, they’re ordering mobile morgues for the unvaccinated dying from COVID in their communities.  This is totally unacceptable.

Matthew Miller @matthewamiller

Enjoying the angry dad vibes from this Biden speech. He is turning the damn car around.

Among other things, Biden’s order:

Uses a new OSHA regulation to require all companies with more than 100 employees to ensure that their employees are either vaccinated or tested weekly. (So technically, private sector employees are not mandated to get the vaccine. They retain a choice between getting the shot and getting tested.)

Requires vaccinations for all federal workers and for millions of contractors who work for the federal government.

Requires vaccinations for 17 million health care workers at hospitals and medical facilities that receive Medicaid or Medicare dollars.

(2) Republicans are going to go all-in railing against the new rules. As Axios reports this morning: “Top Republicans are calling for a public uprising to protest President Biden's broad vaccine mandates, eight months after more than 500 people stormed the U.S. Capitol to try to overturn the election.”

(3) The rhetoric in the right-media ranges from hysterical to inflammatory. Via Oliver Darcy:

"BIDEN IS AN AUTHORITARIAN," a banner on Fox declared. "BIDEN DECLARES WAR ON MILLIONS OF AMERICANS," yet another Fox banner read. "FULL TOTALITARIAN," Breitbart's homepage splash screamed. The far-right, but mass consumed, Gateway Pundit ripped the "Biden regime" for its "tyrannical mandates." The Federalist described it as a "fascist move." On and on it went..

And, of course, the leading GOP senate candidate in Ohio:

Josh Mandel @JoshMandelOhio

Do NOT comply with the tyranny. When the gestapo show up at your front door, you know what to do.

(4) The vaccine mandates themselves are probably constitutional, but there are genuine questions about the legal authority for the orders to private businesses. Expect immediate legal challenges and the possibility the courts will shut down at least some of the Biden mandates.

(5) The mandates may not change hearts and minds or persuade the recalcitrant, but they will change behavior. More people will get the shots.

And finally…

(6) Despite the murky legal picture, the new mandates will save lives… at least in the short run. So, this is the pro-life position, right?

The COVID era has undeniably changed our country. Gross abuses of power in the name of “public health” have occurred with a shockingly low level of resistance. People living in fear have given up their rights at the mere thought of catching a disease with a 99.99% recovery rate for most healthy people. We were forced to stay away from friends and family, and businesses couldn’t open. In addition to the fascistic deterioration of our rights and freedom, we also witnessed Orwellian changes in language. Some changes are more innocent than others; nevertheless, together they contribute to a disturbing picture of just how willing those with power are to manipulate the public to become the new Communist Government.
