How will this protest compare to the general run of the mill garden variety BLM/Antifa riot?
Fence going up around US Capitol, as law enforcement braces for Sept. 18 protest
Fencing outside U.S. Capitol is expected to return ahead of the "Justice for J6" rally, a source familiar with the plans confirmed to ABC News. The fencing, erected after the Jan. 6 riot, was removed in July. "Justice for J6" is being billed by organizers as a protest for defendants who are being detained by the government in connection to the January insurrection at the Capitol. The fencing is just the latest security measure for a rally that has some in law enforcement on high alert. Federal law enforcement agencies have become concerned that far-right extremists, including the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys could come to Washington for the protest.
![]() |
| Your typical BLM mostly peaceful protest that didn't need extra security |
Every available Capitol Police officer will be working and the Washington Metropolitan Police Department said they are also "fully prepared" for the protest. "As with all First Amendment demonstrations, MPD will be monitoring and assessing the activities and planning accordingly with our federal law enforcement partners," an MPD spokesperson said in a statement to ABC News. "MPD will have an increased presence around the city where demonstrations will be taking place and will be prepared to make street closures for public safety."So we've had more BLM/Antifa riots than anyone can count. The number of law enforcement who have been injured in these riots is countless. The number of dead Americans sits at over two dozen. The overall destruction of property has been into the billions. Yet nobody has ever erected a fence or decided to make every officer on staff work through one of those violent BLM/Antifa protests.
"While the government has not yet issued threat bulletins about specific and credible plots on that day, like 6 January there may be people who attend in a highly agitated mindset and then switch quickly to violent action with little-to-no warning," Ali said.
But apparently this is different. In spite of the fact that outside of the Capital riots we could show you 100 different conservative protests (including all of the tea party rallies) that were entirely peaceful, the assumption is that violence will occur. Apparently the powers to be would have us believe that these people are on the edge and will fall into a berserker frenzy the first chance they get. Could you clutch your pearls any tighter?
All that being said, the Capital police will spend probably millions of dollars in extra security for a non-existent threat that they want to prepare for, and when that doesn't happen then they will claim that it would have, it not for the dramatic heroic effort put in by local officials. That way it is a win win. It there is violence, they can say we told you so and if there isn't violence they can take credit.
The only reason I might expect violence is if there is a counter protest, and then I would expect the violence to be initiated by the Antifa side.

If if is a peaceful protest of people behaving like visiting tourists, we will have nothing to fear.
But what happened the day the Capitol was stormed is not going to happen again.
You can count on that.

The irrational parallel comparisons between racial demonstrations to the Insurrection act on January 6th is the same racial bias in 1967.
"All that being said, the Capital police will spend probably millions of dollars in extra security for a non-existent threat" The FBI has warning the Capitol police officers.
"I would expect the violence to be initiated by the Antifa side."
Is the same racially motivated behavior on January 6th in 2020.
It did not happen.
It's not Antifa etc..

FBI releases new video of Capitol riot pipe bomb suspect
Sept. 8, 2021, 12:55 PM PDT
By Teaganne Finn
WASHINGTON — The FBI on Wednesday released new video of the suspect who placed pipe bombs in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. on the eve of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with the hope of identifying the still unknown suspect.
The new video shows the suspect sitting on a bench near the Democratic National Committee Headquarters, in the area where the person later placed the pipe bomb, according to the FBI, in a news release on Wednesday. Reviews of the suspect’s behavior in the video and interviews with residents in the Capitol Hill neighborhood have led the FBI to believe the suspect is not from the area.

They expect attempted car bombing and IED attacks because they are monitoring the right wing terrorists websites like Thecoldheartedtruth has become.
No comparison
The Violent Black Lives Matter Riots were by far the greatest threat to America

And what was the FBI involvement in Jan 6th ?
Why has the 14,000 hours of video evidence not been provided to the defense or the American people?
Why has Nancy not been made to answer for her leadership role on the capitol security ?
a fake "insurrection" hoax created by democrats
hopefully they will be made to answer for their actions

To have any demonstrations were much worse than the January 6th peaceful demonstrations by white men and women. One of them was murdered by a black police officer, who was never charged because he is a black policeman.

This is a joke right?
This man pretending to play the president on television cannot actually be calling the shots.
After threatening 80 million unvaccinated American citizens, Joe Biden ended his speech by creepily whispering “Get vaccinated.”
This man is an insane and senile old fool.
Remeber when the "president" wasn’t a fan of these onerous mandates not so very long ago:
In the wake of the news that Joe Biden plans to mandate COVID vaccinations for federal workers and for private businesses with 100 or more employees unless they do weekly testing, it’s worth reminding you that it was less than a year ago—eight months, in fact—that Joe Biden opposed both vaccine and mask mandates.
“No, I don’t think it should be mandatory. I wouldn’t demand it be mandatory,” Biden said of vaccines. “But I would do everything in my power — just like I don’t think masks have to be made mandatory nationwide — I will do everything in my power as president of the United States to encourage people to do the right thing. And when they do it, demonstrate that it matters.”
My, what a difference an ongoing international blunder with a body count will make.
Biden obviously wants to play the benevolent dictator, but the Republican National Committee and several GOP governors quickly vowed to fight this latest overreach.
Let’s hope that they’re all serious about that because this parade of power-grabbing needs to come to an abrupt halt.
Be prepared for an armed rebellion against the FBI and General Milly the woke officer who is more interested in CRT training programs for our troops!

A 4-year-old girl who just started preschool never made it to the hospital after contracting COVID-19 this week in Texas.
Within a day of Kali Cook showing symptoms of the virus, she died in her sleep at her home, according to media reports. She became the youngest COVID death in Galveston County since the pandemic began in March 2020, according to KPRC.
Her mother, Karra Harwood, was unvaccinated against the virus that has killed nearly 60,000 Texans.
“I was one of the people that was anti, I was against it,” she told The Daily News in Galveston. “Now, I wish I never was.”
Don't listen to Roger.
The man is senile old fool in a nursing home and he has a full time aid to administer his medication for the liver he stole because he is a drunkard.
Sleepy Joe Biden is an unknowing tool of China and their ally Doctor Fauci.
Biden essentially handed the Bagram Airfield to China creating a dangerous Asian bloc with Iran and Pakistan that from this moment on is a threat to the rest of the world, most urgently India and Taiwan. Biden and Biden alone is responsible for his capitulation to the Taliban, for leaving behind more armaments than most nations have, and for making the world a far more dangerous place. He is not only a blight upon the U.S.; he is a blight on the civilized world. And he has abandoned hundreds of Americans to certain death at the hands of the Taliban.
So incompetent is the Biden administration -- Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, JCOS Austin, and Gen. Mark Milley specifically -- so clueless about national security is this bunch, so obsessed with CRT, equity, "white rage," and the rest of the nonsense that qualifies as some tangent of social justice, they are not at all concerned about the hundreds of Americans held hostage in Afghanistan. Nope! They are on their own. The State Department is even preventing private rescuers from leaving that war-torn nation that the Taliban is determined to return to the seventh century.
What offends Biden? What is he truly worried about? The unvaccinated! In his addled mind, it is the vax-resistant who pose the greatest danger to mankind. That the vaccines are failing does not alter his mindset. In his speech Thursday, he falsely blamed the unvaxxed for "the pandemic of the unvaccinated." Most of the new cases are among the fully vaccinated, both here and abroad. It is the vaccines that are creating the variants. Every honest doctor and scientist says exactly that. Even the most ignorant among the W.H. staff must know this. And yet Biden doubled down on mandating vaccines despite the fact that there have been nearly 700K deaths and adverse consequences due to the vaccines. More members of the military have died from the vaccines than COVID.
And as Biden crudely lectured and indicted the unvaxxed, he is importing hundreds of thousands of unvetted, unvaccinated, untested migrants from all over the world at the southern border and now from Afghanistan, Muslims, as well. What gives? It's as though he is importing a replacement population by design while trying to kill off those of us who are native-born Americans with vaccines that not only do not work, but for many have dire side-effects such as death, injury, and illness. Could this all be part of the globalists' Great Reset? Probably. It all feels like part of someone's grand plan.
We now know that COVID was engineered by China with the blessings, encouragement, and financing of Anthony Fauci. Fauci is the Faust of American medicine, diabolical and wholly without moral sense.
There are many theories about why the powers that be in numerous nations around the world are so determined to shame every human to submit to an experimental gene therapy jab that will permanently alter their DNA. Australia and New Zealand have lost their collective minds and have transformed themselves into fascist police states, right down to keeping their people locked in their homes and monitoring how much alcohol citizens may consume. Is this where the Biden administration is headed? Very likely, and the American people had better step up and scream STOP!
On topic:
Republicans, Trump supporters, and others see a double standard at play in Democrats’ emphasis on Jan. 6. They note that many Democrats cheered nationwide protests and some even put up bail after the May 2020 murder of George Floyd, a black man, by a white police officer -- prolonged unrest that generated far more death and destruction. They argue that groups associated with the summer’s violence, such as Black Lives Matter and Antifa, themselves aim to subvert democracy, and acted accordingly in targeting cops, public offices, and private businesses.
The electorate itself is divided, but doesn’t necessarily view this issue as an either/or choice. Polling shows that a large majority of Americans support the idea of examining the causes of both the 2020 summer riots in America’s cities and the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.
It is clear, then, that many Americans see two sides to this story. In keeping with its mission to fill gaps in press coverage, RealClearInvestigations is launching a running compendium of data, with hyperlinked sourcing, comparing the damage done on Jan. 6, and the subsequent treatment of those accused of perpetrating it, with two other recent events: the summer 2020 riots and – in some ways a closer analogy – the all-but-forgotten riot in Washington on Inauguration Day 2017, as protesters challenged Donald Trump’s election and legitimacy much as Jan. 6 rioters challenged Joe Biden's.
RealClearInvestigations has found that:
The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 30 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot. George Floyd rioters were found to have used more sophisticated and dangerous tactics than did the Capitol rioters, and in some cases weapons of greater lethality.
Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases. Many accused Capitol rioters, unlike accused participants in the other riots, have been held in pretrial detention for months – with one defendant serving more time than the maximum sentence for the charge to which he pleaded guilty. Some allegedly endured solitary confinement and other mistreatment.
With authorities applying lenient prosecutorial standards in many major cities torn by the summer riots, the vast majority of charges last year were dismissed, as were charges in the Inauguration 2017 unrest. Charges have to date been dropped in only a single Capitol riot case.

Judge Blocks Florida’s ‘Anti-Riot’ Law

A federal judge ruled that Florida’s new “anti-riot” law championed by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) as a way to quell violent protests is unconstitutional and cannot be enforced, the AP reports.
The 90-page decision found the recently-enacted law “vague and overbroad” and amounted to an assault on First Amendment rights of free speech and assembly as well as the Constitution’s due process protections.

For a guy who graduated from Harvard Law School, DeSantis sure has a knack for losing court cases.

The White House claims that 80 million Americans are unvaccinated, and we are now the enemy of the state. OK, whatever. When you get all done with the teeth gnashing part, I’m still unvaxxed. And if I’m no longer permitted to engage in a social construct that I have been studiously avoiding for the past few decades, well, meh…. a’right then, punish me by barring me from living life amid the Federal Moonbats. The federal compliance and enforcement part of the mandated worker vaccination will be fun to watch.
I have serious doubts that only 80 million Americans are unvaccinated, but fair enough; if that’s your number, okay then. However, consider this…. Assuming we are the minority group, the non-vaxxed crew breaks down into two broad segments: (1) The extremely well-educated who carry commonsense and are in a social strata where they remain quiet about it; and (2) The skeptical productive class of similarly disposed commonsense blue-collar workers who are the backbone of American productivity.
The comfortable existence for the rest of “polite society” is dependent on the scruffneck working class, the dirty fingernail folk who know what Lava soap feels like, and the industrious service sector workforce who fulfill the needs of those who hold out their pinky fingers when they drink from a glass.
If this non-vaccinated ‘minority group’ stops fulfilling the needs of the vaccinated ‘betters’, guess what happens?

Some encouraging news re: DOJ abusive investigation into the Capitol breach. Biden's prosecutors having a hard time convincing judges their most-charged felony count applies to January 6 protesters. My latest here:
https://amgreatness.com/2021/09/09/justice-departments-foremost-felony-charge-may-be-on-thin-ice/
At least 200 Americans charged with "obstruction of an official proceeding." It's a felony punishable up to 20 years in prison--Biden's DOJ adding it to mostly misdemeanor cases to turn Trump-supporting trespassers into convicted felons. BUT...
even Obama judges doubt its legal standing in J6 cases. Interesting debate in Oath Keepers hearing this week--defense filed motion to dismiss. Mehta says he will rule soon. This is one to watch.

Which Trumpistas play to fight with civil disobedience,

by not allowing fellow citizens Constitutionally and legally to protect their health and the health of their children by requiring reasonable mandates.
Survey: Many SDPD officers say they would rather quit than comply with vaccine mandate
The results come as the San Diego police union pushes back against a city vaccine mandate
SAN DIEGO — About 90 percent of San Diego police officers who responded to a recent survey said they oppose COVID-19 vaccine mandates, and 65 percent of them said they would consider quitting the force if the city were to impose a requirement.
About 45 percent said they would rather be fired than comply with a mandate, according to the survey, which was conducted in the past week by the San Diego Police Officers Association.
According to the union, 733 members — about 38 percent of the officers the association represents — responded to the survey. Less than 1 percent of the officers who took the survey said they had no stance on vaccine mandates; 8 percent said they were undecided as to whether they would quit if the city required vaccines and 23 percent said they were undecided about whether they would rather be fired than comply with a mandate.
The results, which were shared with union members late Wednesday in an email obtained by The San Diego Union-Tribune, came as the police union — under pressure from some members — was pushing back against the city’s decision to require its employees to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 2.
As of late last month, roughly half of the Police Department’s 1,971 officers said they remained unvaccinated.

Media pundits & political leaders should have roundly condemned yesterday's assault by a white woman wearing a gorilla mask on black California gubernatorial front-runner @larryelder. Instead they downplayed it. The double standard is appalling.
Imagine for a moment that a white woman wearing a gorilla mask threw an egg at the first black American with a serious chance of becoming governor of California as he visited homeless encampments with black and Latino community leaders.
Imagine that, seconds later, both the gorilla-masked woman and a white man punched the candidate’s security guard. And imagine that somebody fired a pellet gun into the crowd.
It is reasonable to expect that such an event would be instantly and roundly condemned as a racist hate crime by civil rights leaders, talking heads, and political leaders. Some might demand an FBI investigation into whether the woman acted alone...
.. and why the L.A. police had failed to protect the candidate. And it is reasonable to expect that, within hours, there would have been protests in Los Angeles and across the country.
And yet, after this exact event occurred in Los Angeles yesterday before noon it aroused neither extensive news media coverage, widespread condemnation, nor protests.

September 10, 2021 at 12:39 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
A Tennessee student who was mocked by adults for sharing a story of his grandmother dying of Covid-19 said he was “shaken” when adults interrupted him with laughter as he tried to argue in favor of a mask mandate in his school, WSMV reports.
Said Grady Knox:
“It was complete insanity, from my perspective. If they laugh at me about, like, a personal story about my grandmother, that’s just disrespectful… I was like shaken a little bit.”
However, Knox got the last laugh when the school board approved the mask mandate.

Christie Calls on GOP to Renounce Conspiracy Theories

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), who was once a close adviser to former President Trump, told Republicans gathered at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Thursday evening that the party must “face the realities of the 2020 election,” discredit the “extremists in our midst” and “renounce the conspiracy theories,” CBS News reports.
Said Christie:
“We need to quit wasting our time,

Joe Biden's America
(Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday signed four executive orders designed to reduce drug costs for consumers, in a bid to highlight his commitment to cutting prescription prices ahead of the November presidential election.
The orders, which range from relaxing drug importation rules to cutting Medicare payments to drugmakers, are far reaching but experts say they are unlikely to take effect in the near term and in some cases lack specifics.
The executive orders have for the most part been proposed by the Trump administration in various forms in the past, but stalled amid industry pushback.

Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley called White House chief of staff Ron Klain’s recent retweet appearing to praise the Biden administration for executing the "ultimate work-around" for President Biden’s recent vaccine mandate "breathtakingly daft."
"The retweet was breathtakingly daft on the eve of litigation over the order. It is reminiscent of President Biden admitting that his own White House counsel and their preferred legal experts all said that the eviction moratorium extension was likely unconstitutional," Turley told Fox News on Friday.
"Courts will now be asked to ignore the admission and uphold a self-admitted evasion of constitutional limits," Turley added. The "problem is that the thing being ‘worked around’ is the Constitution."
Turley’s comment came in response to Klain retweeting MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Thursday, who tweeted: "OSHA doing this vaxx mandate as an emergency workplace safety rule is the ultimate work-around for the Federal govt to require vaccinations."

BIDEN’S HIGHER INSULIN PRICES DEVASTATE MILLIONS OF LOW INCOME AMERICANS, ESPECIALLY MINORITIES
Joe Biden was directed by his handlers to halt all orders that the Trump administration signed in recent months in order to “further review” those orders. On Thursday, Biden halted an HHS rule that would have lowered the price of insulin and EpiPens (epinephrine) for millions of low income Americans. The move will devastate minority diabetics, who are already at a massive disadvantage in the healthcare system.
Without insurance, the cost of monthly insulin can top one-thousand dollars. HHS signed off on the rule in December that community health centers could only charge the acquisition price of insulin plus a nominal fee, and the rule was set to take effect January 22nd. Biden has delayed the rule until March 22nd, possibly longer or indefinitely.

Critics assail widely touted study on mask effectiveness against COVID
"Based on the 95% confidence intervals, we do not even know if surgical mask efficacy is more than 0%," Harvard Med professor says.
An acclaimed study on the effectiveness of masks in reducing symptomatic COVID-19 has been widely mischaracterized and suffers from serious design flaws, according to critics.
They include Harvard Medical School epidemiologist Martin Kulldorff, who was suspended from Twitter for a month for questioning the protective power of masks for unvaccinated elderly people.
A quarter of the villages were promised a "monetary incentive" for village leaders if they hit 75% mask compliance within the eight-week study. "Neither participants nor field staff were blinded to intervention assignment," the study said.
...
About 335,000 people provided data on symptoms, if any, by the end of the eight-week period. In the villages that "received free masks, information on the importance of masking, role modeling by community leaders, and in-person reminders," the interventions reduced "symptomatic seroprevalence" by 9.3% and the "prevalence of COVID-like symptoms" by 11.9%.
Villages that got surgical masks reduced symptomatic infection by 11% — twice as high for those ages 50-60 and three times higher for those older than 60. Cloth masks, by contrast, had "an imprecise zero" effect.
For surgical masks specifically, the differences between treatment and control groups were statistically insignificant for every age group under 50. This age-based finding was a red flag for some critics, as was the confounding variable of increased physical distancing observed among the masked group.
"Odd that mask advocates are excited by this study," Kulldorff, a pioneer in vaccine safety research, tweeted last week.
"As a vaccine advocate, I would be horrified if a vaccine trial showed 11% efficacy. Based on the 95% confidence intervals, we do not even know if surgical mask efficacy is more than 0%," he wrote.
The working paper came out the same week as a peer-reviewed study in the Southern Medical Association's journal. Researchers led by the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research looked at the effect of the July 3, 2020 Texas mask mandate in San Antonio's Bexar County, and the county's own mask mandate 12 days later.
They found "no reduction in per-population daily mortality, hospital bed, ICU bed, or ventilator occupancy of COVID-19-positive patients attributable" to either state or county mandate a month later.

The adults are in charge now:
[O]n the same day Joe Biden dictated to millions of Americans that the choice to get the coronavirus vaccine was no longer their choice to make, Vice President Kamala Harris was giving another speech at the White House that, ironically, had the exact opposite message on the issue of the freedom to make your own healthcare decisions.
During a so-called "Reproductive Rights Roundtable" Thursday, which was held in response to the Democrat freakout over the Supreme Court's 5-4 procedural ruling on the Texas Fetal Heartbeat law, Harris said in her opening remarks that, "When people are able to make choices without government interference for themselves... we are a stronger society":
"When people are able to design their lives in a way that they can determine their own futures, we are a stronger democracy and we are a stronger nation. When people are able to make choices without government interference for themselves -- in terms of their wellbeing and the wellbeing of their family, in consultation with whomever they may choose -- we are a stronger society."
At another point in her opening remarks, she invoked a variation on the left's "my body, my choice" mantra:
"And, needless to say, the right of women to make decisions about their own bodies is not negotiable. The right of women to make decisions about their own bodies is their decision; it is their body.
"And no legislative institutions have the right to circumvent the Constitution of the United States in an attempt to interfere with, much less to prevent, a woman to make those decisions."

President Biden Talks Insulin Prices in the White House
Insulin pricing advocacy has made its way directly to the ears of President Joe Biden, when a grassroots #insulin4all advocate sat down with him to talk insulin affordability in the White House.
Longtime diabetes advocate Gail deVore from Colorado met with the new United States president on Aug. 2, 2021, for a 1-on-1 chat in the Oval Office, just days before he unveiled a big policy proposal that could change the way drug prices are determined for Medicare and influence private insurers.
And if that wasn’t notable enough on its own, she took control of the official White House Twitter account for several hours on the day of the president’s policy announcement.
“Insane isn’t quite the right word, but it’s akin to a once in a lifetime experience that you just can’t prepare for,” deVore told DiabetesMine. “I was truly in awe of being there, and being trusted to speak on behalf of folks who need help.”
Biden has a plan to lower drug and insulin prices, but what he’s proposing isn’t something he can do on his own. It will take buy-in from Congress. But there’s hope, and deVore believes her meeting with the president is a sign that change is on the horizon.
A huge opportunity
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) when she was 11 years old, deVore is a longtime advocate who’s well-known through diabetes advocacy circles. She’s testified before Congress on the issue of insulin pricing, and advocated at both the state and federal levels through the years.
She isn’t the first diabetes advocate to ever meet with and talk diabetes — and insulin pricing specifically — with a sitting U.S. president. But she’s one of a very select few, and likely the first to have this type of grassroots #insulin4all advocacy focus in such a personal conversation and private meeting in the Oval Office.
This opportunity to meet with Biden at the White House came out of the blue, she says. On short notice, she was asked if she’d be willing to fly to Washington D.C. At first, it was supposed to be a public meeting in the Rose Garden, where she’d introduce President Biden and say a few words on the topic of prescription drug costs and insulin pricing.
Plans changed after her initial vetting Zoom call with the president’s media team. They decided it’d be a 1-on-1 personal meeting between her and Biden in the Oval Office. So, deVore and her husband flew to D.C., navigating some airport security headaches before the big day.
On Aug. 2, deVore met with Biden for a full 30 minutes. It was on the schedule for 5 to 10 minutes, she jokes, but the president didn’t want to cut it short. They shared personal stories, he showed her photos from behind the Resolute Desk, and they walked around parts of the White House while talking insulin prices.
Talking diabetes struggles
Knowing she’d forget to say some points in the moment, deVore said she scribbled notes in her hand. “I couldn’t make the point strong enough that no matter one’s socioeconomic status in life, insulin shouldn’t cost this much. I said this several times.”
She brought her “props bag” full of diabetes gear, and showed him those supplies and insulin while sitting across from him on the sofa in the Oval Office. She also talked about the struggles of others with diabetes, including 7-year-old Frankie Hodgson in Colorado, who she knows personally, and another T1D in Kansas who falls in the “Medicare donut hole” and therefore isn’t eligible for any of the patient assistance programs that pharma companies offer.
Biden later mentioned Frankie’s name, including her point that she’d wanted her mom to have deVore ask the president at the White House: “Can he make the insulin price just $10?” She chose that number because that’s her allowance, deVore said.
deVore also told DiabetesMine that she talked with the president about how Pharma often points to their research and development needs, and how capping insulin prices or lowering drug prices could threaten that funding. But deVore pointed out how much drug development money comes from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other taxpayer-supported funding, meaning it isn’t directly tied to the prices charged to patients.
“I didn’t use the word ‘BS’ with the president, but he picked up on what I meant, and he gave a look that he didn’t know that,” she recalled. deVore also said she quoted insulin co-discoverer Dr. Frederick Banting, who famously believed “insulin belongs to the world” and didn’t want corporations to greedily seek profit from such a critical life-sustaining medicine.
deVore said she appreciates being able to tell Biden about her volunteer advocacy work in Colorado pushing for state copay caps on insulin, as well as how certain insurance coverage shouldn’t be required for people to afford something they can’t live without. She said she feels confident that her meeting with Biden made a difference and will influence policy change.
“He really heard me,” she said. “He was so open, so kind, so wanted to make a connection. I honestly believe that his whole heart is in this proposal, and that he can help persuade people on this.”

LMAO.
It was a scam yesterday afternoon!
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced results from a study Friday that found unvaccinated individuals were 11 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people.
The research, spanning more than 600,000 people in 13 jurisdictions, also determined that unvaccinated populations were over 10 times more likely to be hospitalized — figures that underscore COVID-19 vaccines protect recipients from deaths and hospitalizations.
The study also showed that unvaccinated people were 4 1/2 times more likely to contract COVID-19 than the fully vaccinated.
The studies come just one day after President Biden announced a new rule that would require private companies with 100 employees or more to mandate vaccinations or frequent coronavirus testing.

Across the nation, participating.

A federal judge ruled that Florida’s new “anti-riot” law championed by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) as a way to quell violent protests is unconstitutional and cannot be enforced, the AP reports.
Well Reverend that didn't last long:
The First District Court of Appeals on Friday reinstated Florida’s ban on mask mandates for schools, granting Gov. Ron DeSantis's motion.
The court’s ruling means the state is now able to go after schools financially that decide to impose mask mandates.

Opps got the wrong quote.
But to James quote.
DeSantis said during an appearance in New Port Richey that the state will take its case to the Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The governor called the ruling by Walker a "foreordained conclusion" and has said he frequently prevails when appealing Tallahassee judges' orders.
"I guarantee you we'll win that on appeal," DeSantis said.
The lawsuit was filed against DeSantis and other state officials by the NAACP Florida conference, Dream Defenders, Black Lives Matter Alliance Broward and other groups who argue the law appears specifically aimed to halt protests by Black people and other minorities.
Obviously one of those Obama appointed judges for who the law thinks it should be rather than what it is. He has a pretty deep record on being overturned. As I said, Goddard should just shut up.
The list of Plaintiffs was the usual suspects including one organization ready to turn a peaceful protest into a violent riot. What in find interesting was the judge refuse to rule on the Plaintiffs complaint that the law targeted black and minorities (It didn't) but rather went off on a tangent about the supposedly vague and over broad language of the law.
This lawsuit should be dismissed outright when DeSantist implies the trial Judge doesn't seem to have an acquaintance with the English language.
De Santis should be recalled!!!!!!!!
DeSantis keeps driving up the price of stupid with his lack of sense!!!!!!
What does DeSantis have to do with the price of insulin? A governor doesn't have the power to determine the price of any drug unless they have a medicaid drug plan and even then they can only do what Trump. Reduce out of pocket expenses for drugs like insulin by raising the medicaid part.

Vaccination Rates Correlate to the 2020 Vote For Trump
September 10, 2021 at 4:24 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 73 Comments
Philip Bump:
“The chain of correlation here is indisputable:
Republicans
have been less concerned about the virus,
less likely to embrace practices such as masking,
more likely to express opposition to vaccination
and (obviously) voted more heavily for Trump — and now,
after vaccinations have been made broadly available,
states that are seeing the most new cases and deaths are states that are less heavily vaccinated
and were more supportive of Trump last year.”
DUH!
Just do a little REAL fact checking on whether Trump caused insulin prices to decrease.

NIH is funding studies on possible effects of COVID-19 vaccines on menstruation
Five institutions received a total of $1.67 million worth of grants to perform studies on the potential side effects.
"Some women have reported experiencing irregular or missing menstrual periods, bleeding that is heavier than usual, and other menstrual changes after receiving COVID-19 vaccines," the federal agency noted. "The new awards support research to determine whether such changes may be linked to COVID-19 vaccination itself and how long the changes last."
The fives institutions conducting the studies are Boston University, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, Michigan State University, and Oregon Health and Science University.
"These rigorous scientific studies will improve our understanding of the potential effects of COVID-19 vaccines on menstruation, giving people who menstruate more information about what to expect after vaccination and potentially reducing vaccine hesitancy," said National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Director Diana W. Bianchi.

THREAD: Inconvenient Covid facts.
1) Per the CDC, of the 378K death certificates listing Covid in 2020, only 20,792 listed just Covid (as in, no comorbidities)
2) Per the CDC, there is no known study showing masks help stop the spread of Covid
3) Multiple studies show natural infection confers greater protection than vaccines
4) In many regions, lockdowns led to more than 2x as many deaths from suicide than there were from Covid https://medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.02.13.21251670v6.full.pdf
5) Per the CDC, among the 73 million children in America, just 1,790 were hospitalized w/ Covid between Aug. 2020 - Aug. 2021. Of those, the number who died was …
EIGHT.
6) America's self-appointed Covid savior, Dr. Anthony Fauci, repeatedly lied under oath about his role in sending China U.S. tax dollars that funded “gain-of-function” research that likely led to the global outbreak of Covid19
7) Data now show increasing the pace of currently available vaccinations will not stop the spread of Covid, as Israel — where at least 78 percent of those eligible are vaccinated — has demonstrated
8) Per the CDC, for those under 24, the chance of dying in a car crash is 10x more likely than dying from Covid
9) Per the CDC, there were just 7,772 deaths from Covid alone from Aug. 2020 to Aug. 2021 among those under 74. In 2019, there were 2x as many murders (18,551) in the same age category https://cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7014e2.htm#T1_down

Biden to GOP governors threatening to sue over vaccine rules:
'HAVE AT IT!'
Yahoo News
September 10, 2021, 1:56 PM
President Biden on Friday told Republican governors threatening lawsuits over his new coronavirus vaccine mandates to “have at it.”
“I am so disappointed that, particularly, some Republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids, so cavalier with the health of their communities,” Biden said. “We’re playing for real here. This isn’t a game.”
On Thursday, Biden announced an aggressive new approach to combating the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which mandates that all federal employees and contractors, as well as health care workers who treat patients on Medicaid or Medicare, get vaccinated against COVID-19. The plan also requires private companies with more than 100 employees to require them to be immunized or undergo weekly testing.
The president’s new vaccine rules prompted accusations of overreach from several Republican governors who threatened to challenge the mandates in court.
“Biden’s vaccine mandate is an assault on private businesses,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared on Twitter Thursday. He said his state “is already working to halt this power grab.”
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon said he asked his state’s attorney general to “to stand prepared to take all actions to oppose this administration’s unconstitutional overreach of executive power,” while Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp similarly vowed to “pursue every legal option available to the state of Georgia” to oppose Biden’s vaccine mandates.
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem tweeted at Biden, “See you in court.”
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel also called the mandates “unconstitutional” and “authoritarian,” saying in a statement that “the RNC will sue the administration to protect Americans and their liberties.”
Legal experts have said that such mandates are constitutional and that the president has the authority to impose vaccine mandates on private businesses under existing laws that require companies to comply with federal health safety standards. Biden has directed the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, to draft an emergency rule to enforce the vaccine mandate for private-sector employees.
Asked about the Republican backlash to the mandates following a visit to a Washington, D.C., middle school on Friday, Biden said, “One of the lessons I hope our students can unlearn is that politics doesn’t have to be this way.”
“They’re growing up in an environment where they see it’s like a war, like a bitter feud,” he continued. “It’s not who we are as a nation. It’s not how we beat every other crisis in our history. We’ve got to come together.”

The COVID era has undeniably changed our country. Gross abuses of power in the name of “public health” have occurred with a shockingly low level of resistance. People living in fear have given up their rights at the mere thought of catching a disease with a 99.99% recovery rate for most healthy people. We were forced to stay away from friends and family, and businesses couldn’t open. In addition to the fascistic deterioration of our rights and freedom, we also witnessed Orwellian changes in language. Some changes are more innocent than others; nevertheless, together they contribute to a disturbing picture of just how willing those with power are to manipulate the public to become the new Communist Government.

A US drone strike the military called 'righteous' mistakenly targeted an aid worker and killed 10 Afghan civilians, including 7 kids, a report says
The US targeted an aid worker with a drone strike in Kabul, mistakenly believe he was an ISIS-K militant preparing for a terror attack, according to a New York Times report. In the process, the August 29 strike killed 10 Afghan civilians, including seven children.
The aid worker, Zemari Ahmadi, was also killed by the 20-pound Hellfire missile fired at his car, per the report.
The US military framed the threat posed by the car as imminent, and defended the drone attack as a "righteous strike." Officials said the military believed the car was being packed with explosives for an attack.
But footage obtained by The New York Times suggests Ahmadi was actually loading the car with water containers for his home.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Rather suspicious the New York Times story came out late today.
ABOUT THAT DRONE STRIKE
The New York Times has just posted this intensely interesting investigative scoop by Matthieu Aikins based on reporting by him as well as Christoph Koettl, Evan Hill, and Eric Schmitt: ” In U.S. Drone Strike, Evidence Suggests No ISIS Bomb.” Subhead: “U.S. officials said a Reaper drone followed a car for hours and then fired based on evidence it was carrying explosives. But in-depth video analysis and interviews at the site cast doubt on that account.”
Datelined Kabul, the story opens as follows:
It was the last known missile fired by the United States in its 20-year war in Afghanistan, and the military called it a “righteous strike” — a drone attack after hours of surveillance on Aug. 29 against a vehicle that American officials thought contained an ISIS bomb and posed an imminent threat to troops at Kabul’s airport.
But a New York Times investigation of video evidence, along with interviews with more than a dozen of the driver’s co-workers and family members in Kabul, raises doubts about the U.S. version of events, including whether explosives were present in the vehicle, whether the driver had a connection to ISIS, and whether there was a second explosion after the missile struck the car.
Military officials said they did not know the identity of the car’s driver when the drone fired, but deemed him suspicious because of how they interpreted his activities that day, saying that he possibly visited an ISIS safe house and, at one point, loaded what they thought could be explosives into the car.
Times reporting has identified the driver as Zemari Ahmadi, a longtime worker for a U.S. aid group. The evidence, including extensive interviews with family members, co-workers and witnesses, suggests that his travels that day actually involved transporting colleagues to and from work. And an analysis of video feeds showed that what the military may have seen was Mr. Ahmadi and a colleague loading canisters of water into his trunk to bring home to his family.
Biden; "we have to protect the vaccinated against the unvaccinated."
Isn't that what the vaccine suppose to do Mr. Dementia?
While the U.S. military said the drone strike might have killed three civilians, Times reporting shows that it killed 10, including seven children, in a dense residential block.
Here is the story’s conclusion:
Since the strike, U.S. military officials justified their actions by citing an even larger blast that took place afterward.
“Because there were secondary explosions, there is a reasonable conclusion to be made that there is explosives in that vehicle,” the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark A. Milley, said last week.
But an examination of the scene of the strike, conducted by the Times visual investigations team and a Times reporter the morning afterward, and followed up with a second visit four days later, found no evidence of a second, more powerful explosion.
Experts who examined photos and videos pointed out that, although there was clear evidence of a missile strike and subsequent vehicle fire, there were no collapsed or blown-out walls, no destroyed vegetation, and only one dent in the entrance gate, indicating a single shock wave.
“It seriously questions the credibility of the intelligence or technology utilized to determine this was a legitimate target,” said Chris Cobb-Smith, a British Army veteran and security consultant.
While the U.S. military has so far acknowledged only three civilian casualties, Mr. Ahmadi’s relatives said that 10 members of their family, including seven children, were killed in the strike: Mr. Ahmadi and three of his children, Zamir, 20, Faisal, 16, and Farzad, 10; Mr. Ahmadi’s cousin Naser, 30; three of Romal’s children, Arwin, 7, Benyamin, 6, and Hayat, 2; and two 3-year-old girls, Malika and Somaya.
Neighbors and an Afghan health official confirmed that bodies of children were removed from the site. They said the blast had shredded most of the victims; fragments of human remains were seen inside and around the compound the next day by a reporter, including blood and flesh splattered on interior walls and ceilings. Mr. Ahmadi’s relatives provided photographs of several badly burned bodies belonging to children.
Family members questioned why Mr. Ahmadi would have a motivation to attack Americans when he had already applied for refugee resettlement in the United States. His adult cousin Naser, a former U.S. military contractor, had also applied for resettlement. He had planned to marry his fiancée, Samia, last Friday so that she could be included in his immigration case.
“All of them were innocent,” said Emal, Mr. Ahmadi’s brother. “You say he was ISIS, but he worked for the Americans.”
The Times story is accompanied by the video below. The video poses the question: “‘Imminent Threat’ or Aid Worker: Did a U.S. Drone Strike in Afghanistan Kill the Wrong Person?” The video caption explains: “The New York Times obtained exclusive security camera footage and witness accounts to show how the military launched a drone strike that killed 10 people in Kabul on Aug. 29 without knowing whom it was hitting.”

Right-wing vaccine disinformation is killing people, and the propagandists are furious Biden is fighting back

President Joe Biden’s Thursday announcement that federal regulators will seek to compel businesses with more than 100 employees to require their employees to either be vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested for the virus weekly isn’t the ideal solution to the pandemic. But the right-wing echo chamber sabotaged the ideal solution a long time ago.
In a better world, safe, effective vaccines developed under a Republican administration and distributed under a Democratic one would not have become a partisan issue. Politicians from both parties would have worked together to vaccinate communities as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Right-wing, mainstream, and left-wing news outlets would all have pursued whatever messages they deemed most effective in getting their audiences to take life-saving shots. High vaccine uptake would have sent COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths plummeting.
But that’s not what happened.
Instead, as Biden made the vaccination campaign a central focus, Fox News hosts decided that their network’s self-declared role as Biden’s “opposition” did not have a carveout for his effort to vaccinate the public and halt the deadly pandemic. They and many of their right-wing media colleagues decided that their interests lay in fueling skepticism for the vaccines and undermining the vaccination campaign.
Since Biden took office, right-wing propagandists have falsely suggested that the vaccines are ineffective or unnecessary and that they might be killing thousands of Americans. They have lashed out against the prospects of vaccine mandates, whether imposed by private businesses, universities, or government agencies. They have wailed about requirements for proof of vaccination to enter certain venues. They have raised up vaccine refusers as culture war heroes. And they have denounced door-to-door campaigns to urge residents to get vaccinated as akin to the tactics of the Gestapo.

Too funny .
President Biden’s new vaccine mandates are not only good public health. They’re good politics. We hear constantly how we’re divided as a country, polarized into two roughly equal camps. On vaccinations though that’s not true. Epidemiological vaccination rates are not the same as electoral vaccination rates. Already an overwhelming percentage of adults are vaccinated. Roughly 65% of Americans over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated and over 75% have had at least one shot. What’s more, the older you are the more likely you are both to be vaccinated and to vote. So if anything that 65%-75% benchmark understates the voting majority of the already vaccinated.
If you’re vaccinated, requirements and mandates don’t seem burdensome. In fact they seem to have widespread support since the vaccinated, who make up the overwhelming majority of the country, are losing patience with the voluntarily unvaccinated who they blame (rightly) for keeping us stuck in the pandemic. Biden spoke for a lot of Americans yesterday when he said: “We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us, so please do the right thing.”
For Biden there are benefits to this move that go beyond simply being on the right side of an issue of pressing public concern. As we’ve noted, the biggest driver of Biden’s declining poll numbers is the Delta surge, the fact that we thought we were putting the pandemic behind us and then found out we hadn’t. But it’s not just that this half-in, half-out stage of the pandemic sucks. It feels like we’re stuck. It’s like there’s no levers to pull. We thought vaccines were going to do it. But they haven’t – not nearly as much as we’d hoped, largely because not enough of us are vaccinated. So now what? It’s like there’s nothing we can do. Or more specifically, it feels like there’s nothing the President can do or nothing he will do.
Whatever the epidemiological or civil liberties equities of the matter, that’s a bad, bad place for any President to be during a crisis.
In our political culture people don’t elect Presidents to sit around being as disappointed as they are that bad things are happening. They want Presidents to do things to solve them.

So I'm not "scared to death," LIAR. I'm just concerned and angered that ignorant unvaccinated holdouts endanger other people, and especially children, as they stupidly try to make a political issue out of what should be a commonsense thing everyone should be willing to do for the sake of all.
"Children are not supposed to die":
CDC director gives passionate response about how children make up 400 of the 600,000 COVID-19 deaths
AND THAT WAS AS OF JULY 26, 2021
Approximately 400 of the 600,000 COVID deaths in the US have been children.
Dr. Walensky, director of the CDC, told Sen. Marshall,
"Children are not supposed to die."
The New York Times reported the efforts of Moderna and Pfizer to expand vaccine trials for children ages five to 11.
In a hearing for the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions last week, Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, had a tense exchange with Sen. Roger Marshall, a Republican from Kansas, about whether children should receive COVID-19 vaccines.
"It's estimated that 40 — maybe 50 — percent of children have already had the COVID virus," Marshall said, when discussing how necessary it is to vaccinate children for COVID-19. "What are the additional benefits to the vaccine to a child who's already had the virus?"
Walensky responded to Marshall saying that it may depend on the variant the child may have had and whether the child could possibly be infected or re-infected.
While the COVID-19 vaccine is currently only approved for people over the age of 12, the New York Times reported the efforts of Moderna and Pfizer to expand vaccine trials for children ages five to 11, per the Federal Drug Administration's request.
Studies by the American Academy of Pediatrics found that children made up 14.2% of all COVID cases as of July 15. The report also stated that children comprise 0.00%-0.26% of all COVID-related deaths and, in 23 states, children make up 1.3%-3.6% of COVID-related hospitalizations.
"One thing just I want to note with the children is: I think we fall into this flawed thinking of saying that only 400 of these 600,000 deaths from COVID-19 have been in children. Children are not supposed to die, so 400 is a huge amount," said the director of the CDC.
That was not anonymous, that was me.
And again, that's 400+ children dead as of July 26. It's two weeks later now.

A man who drove to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6 with guns and ammunition and threatened to shoot House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the head on live television pleaded guilty Friday.
Cleveland Meredith Jr. pleaded guilty to one count of interstate communication of threats, and court documents say an estimated prison term could be up to two years.
Meredith drove from Colorado to the nation's capital for a Jan. 6 rally supporting President Donald Trump, but he arrived after the riot in which a mob attacked the U.S. Capitol, according to court documents.
He brought a Tavor X95 rifle, a Glock 9mm handgun and around 2,500 rounds of ammunition.
On Jan. 7, Meredith texted a relative: "Thinking about heading over to Pelosi [expletive] speech and putting a bullet in her noggin on Live TV" followed by an emoji showing a purple devil face, Meredith admitted in a plea deal. That relative contacted Meredith's mother, who contacted the FBI.
Meredith told U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson on Friday that "it was political hyperbole,” but did admit to the message, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Meredith is a native of Georgia.
Meredith's attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday night.
July 27: Police officers deliver emotional testimony at Jan. 6 committee hearing
Sentencing is set for Dec. 14. The judge will determine the sentence, but estimated terms based on sentencing guidelines range from six months to two years, according to the plea agreement.
Prosecutors will seek an enhancement. If the enhancement is accepted, the estimated sentence is between 1 1/2 and two years. If not, it would be six months to one year.
He has been in custody since his arrest
Meredith was arrested Jan. 8. The FBI went to his hotel room in Washington on Jan. 7 and searched his phone, truck and an attached trailer, where they found the guns and ammunition, according to court documents.
The message about shooting Pelosi, D-Calif., wasn't the only text message referencing violence that was found.
U.S. NEWSAlaska lawmaker banned by airline can't reach capital to vote
On Jan. 6, after he received messages about the riot at the Capitol, Meredith texted "Hauling ass, 3.5 hours from target practice," prosecutors have previously alleged while arguing that he remain held in custody.
On Jan. 7, Meredith wrote "I may wander over to the Mayor’s office and put a 5.56 in her skull," referring to Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser, court documents say. The number 5.56 refers to a type of ammunition.
On Jan. 6, a pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol as Congress was formally counting the Electoral College votes affirming President Joe Biden's win in the November election. Trump and others had repeatedly and falsely claimed the vote was fraudulent.
More than 600 people have been charged in connection with the Capitol riot.
You are a fucking traitor.
On the cusp of 9/11’s 20th anniversary, we hear more and more about American decadence. Some point merely to recent policies such as our foreign endeavors in the Middle East. Others, however, take their critique to deeper and darker depths. America was born to fail, we now hear. Scholars and pundits declare the classical liberal views underlying our Founding as fraudulent. America was destined to decline into wanton licentiousness and banal consumerism, all feeding a lonely, arrogant, yet yearning hyper-individualism. A country dedicated to the self-evident truth that “All men are created equal,” in other words, inevitably descends into suburban, materialist mediocrity.
Yet the anniversary we remember should give these deeper critics pause. Sept. 11, 2001 displayed something of the American character. We saw firefighters and policemen in New York City running into the Twin Towers – many never to return. We heard of citizens storming the cockpit of Flight 93 to stop the hijackers from reaching their intended target (revealed later to be either the White House or the U.S. Capitol). In the tragedy’s aftermath, we saw Americans rally around each other financially, physically, and spiritually. Our citizens, moreover, fended off various temptations, including animosity against fellow citizens of the Muslim faith.
In these deeds, the American character bore little resemblance to the above criticisms. Instead, we saw a love of community that was antithetical to hyper-individualism. Men and women sacrificed themselves for who they loved – their families and neighbors – and what they loved – their country and its principles. In so loving, they showed a nobility that scoffed at accusations of amorality or crass consumerism. In so dying, they showed their belief that humans possess souls and that such souls partake of immortality.
They were heroes. But they were no anomalies. The heroes of 9/11 exemplified the true American character. To see this point, we must link their deeds to our Founding thoughts. The principles of the American Founding help to explain this character.
In our country’s early days, Americans clearly understood the difference between liberty and license. True liberty consisted in self-government, in the cultivation of virtue that made the consent of the governed the rule of reasonable persons. They understood the source of their duties and rights in the “laws of nature and of nature’s god” – truths confirmed both by reason and revelation. Humans were more than matter in motion. They were formed in the image of their Creator and endowed by Him with rights to protect and capacities to exercise.
America’s critics do pinpoint true flaws in our present and even in elements of our past. Many rightly see a nation now in a crisis that stems from certain viewpoints gaining ever-more adherents among its citizens. But those who see these flaws as essential and the crisis as inevitable misunderstand their country. Our present crisis lies in losing our way, not in any measure of faithfulness to our true ethos.
Thus, we must do more than remember the examples of heroism and sacrifice displayed on Sept. 11, 2001. We must return to them to learn and to be strengthened. Bruce Springsteen’s 2002 album, “The Rising,” captures this point. He sings of those who, on 9/11, went “up the stairs, into the fire.” He continues with a call to the living to learn from those men. In the form of a prayer, he asks:
“May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love”
Now, twenty years later, we must let those heroes continue to teach us the virtues inherent within the American character. Moreover, we must understand them in light of the principles that birthed our country. This noble combination of example and principle illuminates a brighter American past. In doing so, it may still yet point the way toward a better future – toward a renewed republic strengthened by faith, hope, and love.
A very sad day even made worse that roughly every 2 days, the number of ameicans dying from covid equal the 9/11 loss....and just about all the current ills are preventable if stupid people all took the shot......With DeSantis parading around like a peacock because his masking ban was upheld....all he has done is jeopardized the lives of all school children to protect his vote base....WHAT A SCUM BAG!!!!!!!!!!
No he isn't. School kids are very low risk.
The real scandal is Biden firing nurses for not getting vaccinated while letting unvaxed, untested illegal aliens pour across the border.
And biden can now add war criminal to his list of failures. Now we know why he wouldn't tell us who the terrorists he had killed. Because they were humanitarian workers.
We should not be divided today on political differences and should remember when we started soars.
Patriotism comes in many guises, from active-duty military service to volunteering to work at the polls on Election Day. But what has bound Americans together in the past is that World War II slogan: “We all do our part.”
On the 20th anniversary of the worst single day in American life since Pearl Harbor, I long to see the flags flying everywhere again.
I long for an outpouring of unity as Americans — whatever their political persuasion, whatever the spot on the map they call home — come together to tame the pandemic.
For me, part of the sadness of this Sept. 11 will flow from the fear that never again in my lifetime will Americans put aside their differences to battle a common foe.
Walter Shapiro
In wars throughout history, civilians have been killed through error or just the fact that they are casualties of war.
George W. Bush and his political allies spent a decade or more dining out on the idea that they “kept us safe” which only makes sense in light of that subjective revision. Nobody would say that Gerald Ford “kept us safe” from terrorism even though obviously terrorists killed far more people under Bush than Ford. “Kept us safe” didn’t just mean that 9/11 didn’t count, but that a rational person waking up on the morning of 9/12 would expect a lot of mass casualty terrorist attacks and the fact that those attacks didn’t occur showed that Bush’s policies were successful.
This is just a general issue in human cognition. Say you assess there’s a one in a million chance of something happening. And then it happens. Does that mean you were underestimating the odds all along or does it mean you just happened to witness something unusual? In normal life you’d say “wait and see” and keep improving your estimate as more data becomes available. But in the post-9/11 frenzy all kinds of things happened that were putatively dedicated to preventing future attacks. One of the FBI’s anti-terror tactics was keeping up a steady stream of what looks to me a lot like entrapment where the Bureau would essentially create terror plots and then foil them. The Bureau’s view is these actions preempted and disrupted attacks that would otherwise have taken place. Maybe?
To me the pandemic is an interesting contrast.
I read Laurie Garrett’s The Coming Plague in the mid-1990s and got very worried about emergent infectious diseases and pandemics. That worry stuck with me for decades. When I interviewed Barack Obama during his second term one of the things I asked was whether we shouldn’t rebalance our security spending away from terrorism and toward worrying about pandemics. But to be honest, I worried less about pandemics in 2019 than I had in 1999 because after living through SARS, MERS, and a couple of Ebola outbreaks I thought maybe the world had this in hand.
Covid-19 really has me scared. Not about Covid at this point, but about Covid-2027 or whatever the next thing is.
In addition to all the controversial stuff that happened over the past twenty years that people will debate forever, 9/11 led to some very straightforward reforms. The hijackers boarded the planes with box cutters, which wouldn’t be allowed today. Hijacking protocols at the time urged passengers not to resist, assuming hijackers would simply take the plane somewhere else. By later that same day the heroes of Flight 93 realized we needed a new approach for a new era. Today’s cockpit doors are much harder to break into. These changes are so uncontroversial that we don’t talk about them anymore. But they mean you literally cannot do the thing that the killers did twenty years ago. On pandemics, I don’t think we’ve banned box cutters or hardened cockpit doors. In terms of social response rather than a new consensus like the one that developed on Flight 93, we’re further than ever from a collective understanding of what we should do or how we should evaluate risks.
So that’s me, my subjective risk-assessment is way up. But I don’t get the sense that’s true in general. There’s an ongoing Covid Culture War but the assumption — the exact opposite of the assumptions of fall 2001 — seems to be that this will just be water under the bridge and not something we need to worry about on an ongoing basis. The me of twenty years ago was caught up in what looks, in retrospect, like a kind of hysteria and I was wrong. I hope I’ll be wrong again, this time about pandemics. But I worry.

Mr. Sauer, now 54, gets choked up when he talks about that day he spent searching for signs of life in what firefighters dubbed “the pile.” He heard car alarms and the distinct sounds of police and fire strobe lights coming from vehicles buried under the rubble.
“You’re walking around and listening for anyone banging or any sign of life,” Mr. Sauer recalls. “That’s what you’re there for, to try to help and hopefully get someone to safety.
“Body over here!” he recalls yelling to other rescuers at one point.
“Dead or alive?” others asked.
“Dead.”
And that is how it went all day as he scoured the pile with a friend, another volunteer firefighter. “We didn’t find anybody other than the parts we found,” he says.
They traversed the peaks and valleys of the pile as wind blew ash into their eyes and throats. Mr. Sauer and his colleague were hours into the day when they stumbled onto a fire hydrant, a welcome sight.
“It wasn’t like there was a water fountain you could go to,” Mr. Sauer recalls. “This thing was just standing out there by itself with water coming out of it.”
Mr. Sauer was rinsing the grit from his mouth when he looked up and saw someone taking his picture.
He returned to his job at the airport the next day, though he volunteered again to sift for evidence at a Staten Island landfill where the Ground Zero debris was taken. By 2006, he took a role, which he still holds, in a new post-9/11 antiterrorism program at U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The attacks “put a flame under our ass to just really do our job above and beyond to protect,” Mr. Sauer says.
He’s still a volunteer firefighter, as are his sons, ages 18 and 20, and at least once a year, around the 9/11 anniversary, he sends a text to Yoni Brook, the photographer who took his picture at the hydrant.
“We have this bond,” Mr. Sauer says. “It’s just a bond of that day, and him putting me in history.”
“To me it feels like it was just the other day,” he adds. “Not a day goes by that I don’t think about it.”

Joanne “Jojo” Capestro hadn’t felt well that Tuesday morning, so she arrived at work with a cup of takeout tea. A sudden jolt made her spill it, and she felt the building sway. All the phones were ringing. Her first thought was that she needed to clean up that tea.
Then 39, she was a sales assistant at May Davis Group, a brokerage and investment banking firm on the 87th floor of the North Tower, about six floors down from where a plane rammed into the building. She and colleagues started down the stairs, although her co-worker, stockbroker Harry Ramos, stopped on the 30th floor to help someone. “I’ll meet you outside,” Ms. Capestro recalls him saying.
Life had changed drastically. Just the night before, Ms. Capestro had been watching a reality TV show with friends at her apartment in Brooklyn. And just that morning, she had joked with Mr. Ramos, a new homeowner who had come in with a sunburn from mulching over the weekend.
Ms. Capestro made it outside just as the South Tower collapsed. She screamed and dove under an SUV. “Everything was white when I opened my eyes,” she recalls. “I really thought I had died.”
She saw badly injured people, and then a colleague, and the pair clung to one another. She was desperate to know where her other co-workers were. That is when photographer Phil Penman snapped the photo.
All the May Davis employees made it out except Mr. Ramos.
Her survivor’s guilt still lingers, Ms. Capestro says. In the aftermath of 9/11, she hid at home, glued to the TV.
“I was really, really, really in bad shape,” she says. “It took me months to wake up and say, ‘I’ve got to put my best foot forward.’ ” She is now an executive assistant at Oppenheimer & Co.
In 2014, Ms. Capestro donated her dust-caked clothes from that day to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. After Mr. Penman shared all his work with the site, a curator recognized Ms. Capestro in his photos and introduced the two.
Ms. Capestro cried when she met the photographer. She says she is grateful that he documented her experience, especially as 9/11 recedes further into the past.
“When you tell people you were in the World Trade Center, they say, ‘Oh, across the street?’ ” Ms. Capestro says. “They don’t realize what I went through. They don’t realize what I saw.”
When she got married in 2018, she asked Mr. Penman to photograph her wedding.
“Phil was with me on the worst day of my life, and Phil was with me on one of the best days of my life,” she says.

Srinath Jinadasa (wearing a jacket in the photo), an engineer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who worked on the 74th floor of the North Tower, did one task before fleeing: He watered the geraniums on the window sill in his office.
At that moment, Mr. Jinadasa, now 79, says he didn’t realize the scope of the attack. He thought he might be living through something similar to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which had put him out of his office for months, and the plants had died. He didn’t want that to happen again.
“Under the circumstances, one doesn’t think logically, I guess,” Mr. Jinadasa says. “You do things that don’t make sense.”
The married father of two got down the stairs quickly. When he saw a cloud of dust and flying debris coming toward him in the concourse, he thought he was going to die.
“I’m still here,” he recalls thinking with surprise after the wave of dust stopped.
He made his way outside, stopping to rinse out his eyes at an ambulance that was distributing water. Dazed and dirty, Mr. Jinadasa, a colleague and another man walked on as Mr. Penman, the photographer who also captured Ms. Capestro, snapped a photo.
Mr. Jinadasa trekked several miles uptown to Penn Station and caught a train home to New Jersey. “For the next few days I was uneasy, and I had to kind of pace up and down,” he says. “I could not sit in one place.”
He returned to his job at the Port Authority—in a different office—helping to restore the train service that the attacks had disrupted. “I was just thankful to still be around,” he says.
He retired in 2012 and now lives in Jacksonville, Fla. He says 9/11 is never far from his thoughts, although he is uneasy with “the many things that have happened on the back of that event,” including the war in Afghanistan that the U.S. launched in response to the attacks and ended little more than a week ago.
The photo hangs in Mr. Jinadasa’s home. He says it elicits in him a combination of feelings: the reality that he came close to dying on 9/11, and the reality that time marches on.
The photo shows him covered with dust and debris.

Just as millions of families around the United States navigate sending their children back to school at an uncertain moment in the pandemic, the number of children admitted to the hospital with Covid-19 has risen to the highest levels reported to date. Nearly 30,000 of them entered hospitals in August.
Pediatric hospitalizations, driven by a record rise in coronavirus infections among children, have swelled across the country, overwhelming children’s hospitals and intensive care units in states like Louisiana and Texas.
Daily Covid hospital admissions of those under 18 are higher than ever.

John Hopkins University on long term health issues.
Long COVID: What is post-COVID syndrome?
Mild or moderate COVID-19 lasts about two weeks for most people. But others experience lingering health problems even when they have recovered from the acute phase of the illness.
In such patients, there is no longer live coronavirus running amok in the body. If tested, the person would test negative for the coronavirus, but they might be severely debilitated nonetheless.
The problem has several names. The National Institutes of Health refer to long-term COVID-19 symptoms as PASC, which stands for post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2. More common terms are post-COVID syndrome, long COVID or long-term COVID. People living with post-COVID syndrome are sometimes known as “long haulers.”
What causes post-COVID syndrome?
While it’s clear that people with certain risk factors (including high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, obesity and other conditions) are more likely to have a serious bout of COVID-19, there isn’t a clear link between these risk factors and long-term problems. In fact, long COVID can happen in people who have mild symptoms.
More studies will shed light on why these stubborn health problems persist in some people. They could be due to organ damage, a persistent inflammatory or autoimmune response or another reason.
What causes symptoms in long haulers?
SARS-CoV-2 can attack the body in a range of ways, causing damage to the lungs, heart, nervous system, kidneys, liver and other organs. Mental health problems can arise from grief and loss, unresolved pain or fatigue, or from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Brigham says, “We're seeing a spectrum of symptoms after acute COVID-19, some of which would be expected after other critical illnesses. Some are minor, but other people may need continuing care and even readmission to the hospital.” She notes that similar, lingering problems can affect patients with other serious illnesses.
But what’s curious is that it seems post-COVID-19 syndrome is not just afflicting people who were very sick with the coronavirus. “Patients who were never severely ill are coming to clinic and saying that their lives are different now,” Brigham says.
What are the long-term effects of coronavirus infection?
According to the CDC, the most common lasting symptoms are fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, joint pain and chest pain. Other issues include cognitive problems, difficulty concentrating, depression, muscle pain, headache, rapid heartbeat and intermittent fever.
Breathing issues after COVID-19
A bad case of COVID-19 can produce scarring and other permanent problems in the lungs, but even mild infections can cause persistent shortness of breath — getting winded easily after even light exertion.
Lung recovery after COVID-19 is possible, but takes time. Experts say it can take months for a person’s lung function to return to pre-COVID-19 levels. Breathing exercises and respiratory therapy can help.
Heart problems after COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 infection can leave some people with heart problems, including inflammation of the heart muscle. In fact, one study showed that 60% of people who recovered from COVID-19 had signs of ongoing heart inflammation, which could lead to the common symptoms of shortness of breath, palpitations and rapid heartbeat. This inflammation appeared even in those who had had a mild case of COVID-19 and who had no medical issues before they got sick.
Kidney damage from COVID-19
If the coronavirus infection caused kidney damage, this can raise the risk of long-term kidney disease and the need for dialysis.
This is why they should wear masks and practice social distancing.

Huh?? You're inventing things I did not say. You seem to do that a lot here. On the contrary, In early Jan 2020, I moved all my money out of stocks because I saw what was coming. I posted about it several times.
You cannot just post this made up shit like this.
I suspect that in the future 20 years the number of liver and kidney transplants will grow as a result of the covid-19 virus and the Republicans resistance to scientists.
You're suggesting that Biden's policies are based on science?? Want to try that again?

And like roger is arguing we don't really know the long-term problems with the vaccines. We do know the CDC has reported hundreds of thousands of adverse events with them, that children are developing heart problems and women have issues with their menstruation. Who knows what else develops or occurs. People should know the risks and their own health concerns.
We also are still not taking into account prior Covid exposure and developed antibodies. Something so basic it is inexcusable the CDC and Fauci haven't made this a priority.
Our scientists and CDC are failing us

Two oof the top FDA vaccine officials are quitting because of that

Dr. Fauci on why Americans who’ve previously been infected should get vaccinated despite studies showing it’s unnecessary: “I don’t have a really firm answer for you on that”
but he does admit it's a good question
And we need to know
Only a year and half later from when we should be figuring it out
and way before any mandates that don't take that into account
A huge reason (besides the adverse events) for vaccine hesitancy with PhD's and health care workers.
And rightly so
Biden, Dems Want To Monitor Americans’ Bank Accounts, Blasted As Violating 4th Amendment
President Biden and the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget plan means to monitor gross inflows and outflows from Americans’ bank accounts, prompting concern that the federal government would be willfully violating the 4th Admendment.
“The proposal would require banks to report to gross inflows and outflows to the IRS, including transactions from Venmo, PayPal, crypto exchanges and the like in an effort to fight tax evasion,” the Daily Mail noted, adding, “The IRS would know how much money is in an individual’s bank account in a given year, whether the individual earned income on that account and exactly how much was going in an and out.”
Patrick Hedger, vice president of policy at the Taxpayers’ Protection Alliance, blasted the idea, saying, “The IRS is first and foremost, a law enforcement agency and the Fourth Amendment protects against unreasonable searches and seizures in pursuit of, of looking for wrongdoing and criminal actions, so I think this is going to run into severe Fourth Amendment headwinds.”
What was that definition of an authoritarian tyrant is? One who knows what he's doing is illegal or unconstitutional but goes ahead and does it anyway.

DeSantis is causing this horror story
This is not caused by anybody. Quite your hyperbole. But if you want to blame anybody, blame Dr. Fauci. He's the one who approved gain of function research that made COVID-19 more deadly in it's delta variant.
You know some people in Florida still wear mask even though they are vaccinated. It is their choice. Mask are not required anywhere other than a medical facility. And the only reason they are required there is federal mandates.
And somehow Floridians survived. Hospitalizations and deaths are down from their previous high. It's important to remember that COVID-19 numbers were skewed by the statistics from Miami Dade and Broward counties. They were severely hit by COVID-19 delta variant. These counties have two international airports and cruise ship terminals where people infected with the delta variant passed.
This is not caused by anybody. Quite your hyperbole. But if you want to blame anybody, blame Dr. Fauci.
BWAAAAAAPAAAAAA!!!!! YOU DUMB FUCK!!!!! Blame him for what???? Having trump ignore his warnings last year....That man has done more to save your scrawny white ass while the GOP uses him as a punching bag for their own stupidity DeSantis should be recalled and hospitalizations still at record highs in spite of you wishing them away like the trump slurping asshole we know your ohm
